The technician, Sanjay, was able to accurately diagnose the problem with our stove (which a previous company hadnt been able to do). He and a fellow technician did a great job repairing it once the parts arrived. I was impressed by their professionalism and the quality of their work.
Our GE Café refrigerator section wasnt cooling but the freezer was. This is a fridge we got from the previous owner when we bought the place so there was no warranty. Not wanting to wait for a GE tech and waste more food, we called Mr. Appliance who has a bunch of locations by us in Hartsdale. A tech was able to come the next day and quickly diagnosed the fridge of needing a new evaporator fridge fan. At this point I knew a replacement fan was like $100 max and I could try and fix the fridge myself but I didnt want to rip the fridge apart and brake anything so we agreed to have Mr. Appliance order the part and install the new fan. $479 (before tax) later, the fridge is working great. I guess my main qualms are that Mr. Appliance didnt have any weekend slots or maybe they just dont offer weekend appointments, thus my wife had to miss part of her work twice for maybe an hour of labor/consultation total. Secondly, this is the biggest issue, the price at $479 before tax is pretty insane for a fan that just needed to be plugged in, granted I didnt have the time or confidence that I wouldnt brake any of the plastic cover bits, but this price seems excessive since this is 15% of what a brand new top of the line fridge would cost. Overall we are happy to have the fridge working again, we just wish it didnt cost so much
Nyc repair appliance industry is unfortunately mostly a scam. These guys are the worst. Pure greed! For changing a door of my washer they wanted me to charge more than 1k.I ordered the part myself and saved $900.They wanted to bill 3 hrs- it took me 20 min because I’m slow. They should be ashamed of themselves!Shame on you!!
My commercial grade Miele dryer had been flooded during the hurricane last week. Outside hurricane pressure pushed water INTO the outside dryer exhaust vent, and then migrated all the way through the exhaust ductwork to my Miele dryer. I thought the unit was done. (See photo, which was after I cleaned our the water, but BEFORE the Mr Appliance techs arrived).Sanjay & Padmini (the fantastic repair techs from Mr Appliance) totally cleaned out my Miele dryer, and checked all the mechanicals, and had it working within an hour or so. I was truly AMAZED, AND I CAN TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS FIRM AND THEIR TECH’s WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION. THEY ARE TOP NOTCH!I wish ALL appliance repair firms were as responsive and competent as Mr. Appliance…..Other competitor organizations should take note. Also, clearly Miele picks their third-party service representatives carefully …. I say this because it was Miele who (thankfully) referred us to Mr. Appliance.
NEVER USE THEM! They are the worst service ever. I have been awaiting a refund for a service that they did not do for well over 2 months. They charged me upfront for a service that I had to cancel. Christine has said she will refund me for well over 7 weeks by the end of the week. NO MONEY BACK AND NO REFUND,. I have never in my life had to fight a company for a refund on a service that was NOT DONE! RUN AWAY FROM THEM, they are horrible. I will NEVER EVER use them again. Christine is a liar and does not return your money.
Avi was my tech and he is absolutely amazing!! He is a professional and get the job done fast. I appreciate that because it showcases his knowledge of the machine and he knows how to handle everything very well. If you what something done fast and correct the first time around. You have to ask for Avi.
This Company is horrible. It can take about a month until theyll fix your appliance and it will cost you a lot of money, time and patience. You call to have an appointment, they say you have an appointment, then a day before the appointment , youll find out that you actually never had an appointment.
Sanjay, the technician who worked on our Bosch dishwasher was prompt, Courteous, and very diligent at exploring the problem and finding a solution. He was very clear about explaining the problem to me and even tested the machine several times prior to concluding the job was complete. Quite impressed!
I highly recommend Mr Appliance: very responsive with quality workmanship. From great customer service with Geniva (sorry if I misspelled your name) and the quality technician - with a great sense of humor - Sanjay. Were beyond pleased. And thank you Mr Appliance for honoring our PC Richards warranty. Much appreciated!
Used Mr. Appliance (recommended by our Super) over the summer to repair our Bosc washer. Their technician successfully repaired our washer, after two tries. For the second visit we were only supposed to be charged for the parts, not the labor, however, we were charged for both, two days BEFORE the actual appointment! I have been calling Mr. Appliance to apply the refund to my credit card since August, but have been unsuccessful with every attempt. I will make sure my Super does not recommend using Mr. Appliance to anyone in our building again.
Charged $1100. to repair my oven. When the repairman came, he broke a screw and was unable to repair the oven. He left with the replacement parts and said that I would get a refund. The next day I called to follow up as the AX app showed no refund. The woman who tookthe call said that my account conflicted with the repairman’s report and that she would have a manager call me. I sent an email to documentthe events. No manager called and I got no response to my email.
Beware! Very dishonest establishment. The service guy came to look at a broken dishwasher with an E15 error code. Charged $184 for 5 min. Promised to return to fix the dishwasher and gave a cost estimate of $800. Seemed a bit high so I got another Bosche endorsed rep to come in. This 2nd guy was exceptionally honest. He took photos of the issue. His total cost was $375.Lesson learned: you are dealing with shady people! I called and let them know about the huge discrepancy. Woman on the phone couldnt care less.
1) I was not notified of additional cost2) I was not given the final bill. Instead, they just charged my card without any explanation for the additional cost from the original estimate3) the double charged for the same item4) I’m still waiting for the refundFor all these reasons, I cannot recommend their service.
Do not waste your time and money with this place, it is a complete scam. They will come charge you a pretty high cost for the visit, will give you a terrible expensive ( similar to the cost of a new appliance)and wrong diagnostic, so you don’t proceed and they monetize the cost of the visit. In my case, the said my dishwasher require $757 repair including change of the pump, while it needed a simple cleaning that I did myself following a you tube video. They said my fridge needed a $1300 repair, while the cost of the the ice system is $130 according to Amazon. It is a rip off!
Mr. Appliance NYC is the most expensive, unprofessional and inept company I have ever encountered. Their estimate to change two LED modular lights in my stoves hood was $1000. I rang the manufacturer, who was apologetic and offered to reimburse me. But when I tried to schedule an appointment with Mr. Appliance, they canceled three times, twice in the same week! I spoke to Christine, the manager at 8:00am to confirm the appointment on that day, only to have her call back 45 minutes later and cancel. When I asked her who owned the company or who was her manager she refused to give me any information. I called Neighborly, the parent company of this franchise and hit a brick wall with Tina in Texas. Do not waste your time with Mr. Appliance NYC; horrible company with incompetent schedulers and terrible customer service.
On the first visit, the technician came hours earlier than the planned time. Thankfully, someone was here, but it was very disruptive. When they came back, they seemed fairly unprepared. Wound up damaging the door of the dishwasher. Came back after I called and apologized for the damage, trying to fix it, but that wasnt possible. They also took everything out from under the sink (understandable) but then put it back in willy-nilly, so thats a mess, too. over-all, not a good experience. Nice, friendly enough guy, but, frankly, he didnt do a great job.
Mr. Appliance was responsive and able to do the repair we needed, unlike some other companies. On the day they were scheduled, though, the company did not provide the necessary lift to handle the wall oven that needed to be removed, even though wed explained that on the initial call. So the work needed to be postponed a day, after it had already been put off a couple of days because of scheduling on their end. I was not happy with the final pricing, either, having been told the job would net out under a certain amount. That all said, the actual technicians were wonderful. Both Sanjay and his assistant Padmini did the job well, efficiently and courteously.
Not a fan. Technician spent all of 5-10 min to look at the job then quickly left saying parts need to be ordered. Got charged $188 for the detailed professional assessment. Almost a month later get a quote for $850 to do a full repair. Disappointed as I would’ve like to support a small business. Insane charge for an estimate - basically lighting money on fire.
This company was fantastic! From the moment I first called they were completely professional and up front about pricing. The tech that came to my home was amazing. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem with my oven, told me he had the part I needed in his truck, showed me a quote and did the actual repair within half an hour. So wonderful. Would give more stars if I could.
Our Repairman, Prakash, arrived right on time and did a masterful job of setting straight our elderly wall oven. He had read my input carefully and so arrived with all the correct parts and completed the repair speedily. This could not have been a more positive experience!
This entire experience was a mess from beginning to end. The team was to put the facing on our dishwasher and they drilled too far in and cracked the facing of the dishwasher. It can not be fixed. The technician also took a set of keys off the kitchen counter. The keys were returned after we checked to see if by chance he had the keys. We had to change the locks of our apartment. The customer service manager Christine was not proactive in fixing our issue. After calling her several times, sending photos and receipts from the lock change she issued a full refund. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Made an appointment online. Had a two hour window for service appointment. Prior to the end of the two hour window I called just to confirm technician was coming and was told that yes they would arrive by the end of my 2 hour window. Time passes and it is now 20 mins past the end of my two hour window so I call again and speak to the same woman who tells me I dont have an appointment after all. She isnt sure what happened with their scheduling. After waiting around all morning for them to arrive, all she can offer me is an appointment the following week! Not professional. Would not recommend.
Technician came and tried to fix the dishwasher. He left it worse than it was. It totally not working now. After multiple calls to send another technician they informed us that this case is closed. Then started a almost one month of back and forth to seek refund. It’s non functional since Mr Appliance visited my home.Highly unprofessional and fraud service.
I have never written a review ever in my life, thats how bad this place is.Do not bring this place your business. This review asked me to choose a service that they performed and I cant choose one cause no one ever showed up. Postponed several times over a 4 week period for a basic dryer repair. Spoke to 4 different reps and no one wanted to help or had a clue to what was going on. This is the type of place I would recommend to my worst enemy just to drive him crazy for a couple weeks. Cancelled before they could no-show again and when I threatened to demand a refund, Stu didnt care one bit. Deserves a 0/5. Cheers.
Called to schedule an appointment for repair / replacement parts. They promptly dispatched a gentleman named Neven. Was told he would follow up with an email review and confirmation of parts order. Nothing ever came, followed up 4x.2 stars instead of one because the dispatch was prompt but zero for follow and execution. If you want something done this is nothing the business
I used Mr Appliance several times until they charged me over $900 for failed dishwasher repair, and did not refund me when they said they would. They kept finding more problems and requiring more parts. I was told I would be refunded if the repairs did not work, but was not. I called and emailed many times and they just made up excuses and waited me out, with the manager refusing to return my call.
New Bosch purchased may 2021 stopped turning on 11/22. called mr appliance 11/23 with bosch auth for warranty svc. dec 6 two men came and machine went on. did not bother to pull out and check what could have shut it off.machine went dead again in 2 days. got new bosch svc auth. sanjay came dec 27 and was DILIGENT. pulled out machine and found burned out wires. ordered a replacement. jan 19 sanjay returned and found MR App failed to give him box replacement. only wires. he did something to connect new wires. Machine working now. sanjay terrific but Mr App cd have given much better service in first visit dec 6th. left me with no dishwasher for another 5 weeks!!
The technician, Kimarley, was very knowledgeable about my Miele product, made the proper diagnosis and had it repaired perfectly once the parts came in. His service was A+. Unfortunately, the company is very lax about their responses to the customer. I am still waiting for clarification about the total amount I paid and no body ever gets back to me.
We had an overall good experience with Mr Appliance. Although the time to get the part and schedule an appointment to come back seemed a bit long. We had to call the office back after a couple of weeks to follow up the initial service call. That is not great customer service and we would have expected that the office should have phoned us...Our service technician Sanjay was very competent and fixed the issue carefully and neatly. He was polite and left the job as immaculately as he found the kitchen. We are pleased with the service and will use Sanjay again if we need any other appliance repairs. Thank You.
My experience with this company has been extremely poor. Bosch referred me to them to service my Thermador range after the Bosch technicians were unable to offer insurance my building would accept. I was first referred in October. It is now June, and my range is still not working. They seemed organized and efficient over the phone, and the technicians were polite. Everything else was a disaster. They came a total of 4 or 5 times. Each time after the first, a part or employee was needed that they didnt have. Each time, they told me they were ordering the correct part and I would get a call to schedule when the part came in. The last two times, they never ordered the part at all but instead closed my case. I just spoke to them again, and they said the case had been closed and I needed to work with Bosch or another provider. They refused to offer any explanation or work around. Perhaps they are responsive and helpful if customers are cash customers, but they clearly have no interest in providing warranty service.
I made an appointment on 6/9/2021 for 6/10/2021 between 1pm - 5pm. They stated someone would call before they arrive but instead I received no call and no one even showed up to the appointment. Not only have they wasted my time but I also had to take a day off from work just for no one to show up. I called their call center 3 different times and every time they stated that I did have this appointment and someone should have called but they could not explain why no one had called me back yet. I did not even receive a curtesy call or email if they intended to cancel. Thats just bad business.
I was able to get an appt. for the next day. The 2 technicians (I wish I had written down their names) arrived early !!! They wore masks and gloves and shoe covers. They fixed my dishwasher quickly and it runs like new now. Both men were very professional and both were an absolute delight. I would definitely call them again. Very pleasant experience from start to finish.A+
The people at Mr. Appliance are unreliable, incompetent, and uncaring. It took them over 2 months to complete a simple repair of my Miele dishwasher. During that time, they last-minute cancelled appointments that I took time off of work to be present for 3 times. When they finally fixed the dishwasher, the technician damaged adjacent plumbing that created a leak into a cabinet, and denied that he did it. Since that time, Christine from their front desk has continually promised to “get back to me tomorrow” about resolving the issue At no point in 3 months of dealing with them on a weekly basis did they take responsibility for anything or express remorse. They are dishonest and I will not be using their services again.
DO NOT ISE THIS COMPANY!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!! CHRISTINE IN THEIR OFFICE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! I just got off the phone with Christine at Mr. Appliance. Unprofessional is an understatement! I had my microwave serviced 3 weeks ago and was told I needed a part. I called to follow up about a week later and spoke to Christine and at that time she told me the part did not come in, it was ordered from PC Richard and the hold up was on their end. She said would call me back. Fast forward two weeks later and I still have not heard back from Christine. I called PC Richard and they tell me they do not have an order from Mr Appliance for my microwave at all. I call today and low and behold Christine answers the line. Before I could finish telling her the reason for my call she says hold on and puts me on hold. I was in mid sentence. She comes back to the line and as I continue the story she says oh I will have to call you back. Lady, can I tell you the reason for my call before you decide to call me back! At that point I asked for the manager and she proceeded to tell me she was the manager! Really?! With that level of unprofessionalism?! At that point I was tired of Ms. Christine and her non caring attitude and had to let her know about herself! The whole experience with her from the first time I called was just not welcoming, it was not helpful, it was unprofessional and an overall bad experience. I was made to feel like I was a bother rather than a customer. I would not recommend Mr. Appliance at all! What I would recommend to Mr. Appliance is training Ms Christine on her customer service skills and her telephone manner. I know many are working from home during these rough times, however we still need to keep our professionalism and not sound like we just rolled out of bed and started taking calls! Do better Christine! I just went over all the reviews and there are countless reviews mentioning this nasty Christine and her inability to do her damn job! Why does she still work there?!
My conversation with them:Me: To replace the switch costs $600?Mr.A: Yes, $160 for parts and $400 for labor + tax.Me: I checked on Internet, The retail price of that part is $80Mr.A: Oh you checked, did you? But you probably didnt add shipping..I think it is enough to show what kind of company they are.I called to another company and was charged $240 . Total!
Unprofessional, Unresponsive, Incompetent, UnscrupulousIn January 2021 Mr Appliance came to fix my Miele washer/dryer and charged triple the manufacturer’s pricing. Additionally they damaged my wall and floor which was documented by the Mr Appliance repairman. For over 3 months the manager Christine indicated they were looking into it and promised the owners, Stu and Alison Kauder, would call with a resolution - they never called.Christine who said she was college educated (I don’t know why she told me) often seems confused. She had repeatedly brought the issues to the owners Stu and Alison Kauder, but they never responded.I have since learned that Mr Appliance is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and is rated F (Better Business Bureau’s lowest rating).
Unfortunately, I’ve had a very bad experience that has been ongoing for four months. It took several weeks to get an appt, then the repair lasted only approx two months. They returned citing a new problem. It took weeks for them to return to make the second repair as they canceled the day of an appt, rescheduling four days later. When the second piece was replaced during the second service call, it worked for only two days. I sent an email to them stating it was URGENT, yet almost a week later I’ve had no response. The money I have spent on this with Mr. Appliance is more than a new oven costs. I have asked for a refund but have not received a reply as of this writing.
Absolute disaster - do not trust. Just look at any moderated review website (yelp, google, etc.) and you can see the overwhelming bad reviews - only place they have good reviews are on their own website.Total pain to deal with and schedule. I wanted to have them come in and do general maintenance on five appliances, which would have been close to $1,000 in fees, so not a small job. Still, they were unresponsive and difficult to schedule.First appointment: had a set day and time for almost two weeks, but the night before they were supposed to come, after I had already cleared out my work schedule to be able to stay home to meet them, I get an email that says they dont have a technician and have to cancel the appointment. Not able to reschedule for another couple of weeks. Wasted my daySecond appointment: same story - scheduled an appointment over a week in advance. Cleared my work schedule to be able to be home. Night before the appointment I get five distinct time slots over a 6 hour period during which I should be prepared for them to arrive (one for each appliance...figure that one out). They showed up 40 minutes early, didnt call me (they had incorrectly entered my phone number in to their system , which I had sent them via email), and then left before the time they said they would be there. I called 2 minutes after I realized they were outside (to tell them I was home), which was 2 minutes in to the earliest appointment time, and the tech was already gone and they would not send someone back.I spent 30 minutes on the phone with a manager and only after I lost it did they apologize or take any ownership that they screwed up, even then they still blamed me. How do you trust someone in your home who runs a business like this. Stay clear. Id love to have this conversation with the owner, because I would think they would want to know and I am a business owner as well, but judging by reviews they clearly dont care.
Poor service and UnresponsiveRecently Mr Appliance came to fix my Miele washer/dryer and charged triple the manufacturer’s pricing. Additionally they damaged my wall and floor. For months the manager Christine indicated they were looking into it and promised the owners, Stu and Alison Kauder, would call with a resolution - they never called.Mr Appliance is also rated an F by the Better Business Bureau.
Dish washer needed a very expensive part which was installed and is now working. The repairmen were very nice ( Carlos and Alex) and they were on time. The down side was that the repair was very expensive and the original date got cancelled and rescheduled for the next week. But my credit card got charged when the appointment was made, two weeks ahead of the repair. Not sure I would use this company again for those reasons.
This place is a total nightmare. They wasted so much of my time and I still have a broken dishwasher now a month later. First, they came and performed the diagnostic and left the container where the dishwasher fluid goes broken. Still, I decided to have them back to install the part they said I needed. When I called them to schedule the installment of the part they said they had no record of my diagnostic and they would need to perform that again. Luckily, they emailed me the results of the diagnostic so I forwarded it to them and that solved that problem. In order for them to enter my building they needed to provided COI and Covid paperwork. Before the next appointment I received a call confirming the appointment and confirming that the paperwork was completed and will be brought by the technician. This was not true and he was denied entry to my building. It took WEEKS before they got the paper work to me. I called several times in between and was told it would be sent over before the days end.... and nothing. Then I got a call saying the part they had to install turned out to be broken and they had to order a new one; it didnt even matter, they still didnt have the paperwork completed. Of course they didnt call me to tell me the part had come in but I called them and they said it did, indeed, come in. They told me the nut and pistol had come in and was ready for installation. I was pretty confused because I was told the part I needed was a check valve, but they insisted it was a nut and piston and we scheduled another appointment (the paperwork was finally in). I was not home when they came, stupidly. They came and supposedly installed it and ran the dishwasher. When I came home, I came home to a STILL broken dishwasher. The dishwasher still wasnt draining and they hadnt even bothered to clean the filter, which was part of the problem to begin with. They left my dishes sitting in a puddle of dirty water. When I called them to explain what happened the receptionist said they did they best they can and when I explained they probably installed the wrong piece and didnt even clean the filter, she said I will call you back and that was the last I heard of them. We just ordered a new dishwasher. NEVER AGAIN. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Not trustworthy. My fridge stopped working. The repair man from Mr. Appliance came to my apartment he took one look at my fridge and said it needed a new electric thermostat and that he would order it and come back in a couple of days to install it. Three days later I hadnt heard anything so I phoned them. The representative on the phone told me my refrigerator had a leak and couldnt be repaired and I needed to buy a new one. The man who came never mentioned a leak and literally spent 20 seconds looking at the fridge. He just opened the door and that was it.The rep couldnt explain why he said it needed a new part and now said it couldnt be repaired. Essentially I now need a second opinion now so this company have wasted my time and money. Dont recommend.
Extremely unprofessional agent who manages the staffing line. I scheduled appointments two days in a row and the technician both times did not attempt to come at the scheduled time. The staffing agent on the main line did not offer me any other times to reschedule and was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Do not recommend this service.
I used Mr.appliance back in 2016 they help me changed a burned out part on my sub zero. Today I found out that instead of giving me an original replacement they gave me a 14dollar cheap substitute and charged me almost 700bucks. Over the year that 14dollar replacement cussed my compressors burned out now I have to change the whole system!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE TOTALLY SCAM
Horrible experience from start to finish. Had to register my refrigerator took a week and a half for someone to get back to me. After the repair visit I was told that I would need two new parts and that they would be ordered same day, when they were in I would get a call. In the interim o had a third party call on behalf of Mr Appliance attempting to buy out my repair agreement. After not hearing from Mr. Appliance regarding the parts (11 days later) I call only to find out that the parts were never ordered and it might be another 3 weeks t a month. I called the distributor myself to put a rush on things which they kindly did. I was without a working refrigerator for six weeks. A disaster . I could have gotten a new refrigerator with the amount of money that I spent on takeout.
I had a good experience with them. Their technician Alex was excellent - he came, identified the problem, Mr. Appliance ordered the part for the oven (the igniter wasn’t working), and the Alex and another tech came back the following week and installed it in less than an hour. He also cleaned the inside of the oven where there was debris. The price, however was costly. It cost me $600 for repairs including the part and they spent all of an hour at my apartment, maybe a little bit more time. I don’t know how much the part was but I would’ve liked a break down in the bill.
Our washing machine was periodically leaking from the detergent dispenser. The technician thoroughly examined the dispenser and the mechanics of the water flow. He determined that the high water pressure was causing the leaking. He did not recommend reducing the water pressure. Instead he recommended that we flip up a moveable part in the dispenser, which will enable the water to drain faster and not leak.
Had a great experience today with the two Mr. Appliance technicians who came - the team was led by Kimarley who clearly knew a lot about my appliance and how to fix it. He and his assistant (Sanjay) were a pleasure to deal with and they gave an honest, accurate assessment of what needed to be repaired. Im grateful for their help. I also like that the cost of their assessment / initial visit can be applied to whatever the service is that needs to be done.I cant speak to the actual costs of Mr. Appliance when it comes to when they come in and do the repairs (I havent received a full estimate for that yet) but I can say it was well worth it to have Kimarley come figure out whats wrong with my washer. He and Sanjay even put on paper boot protectors over their shoes before entering my apt, which I though was a nice touch and very considerate.
Beware of fake 5 star reviews. This business is complete rip off. I scheduled an appointment with them for a washer and dryer repair. They never showed up to repair it. When I called, the manager kept offering to send someone the next day, after I repeatedly told her that I just wanted a refund of my $173 diagnostic fee. She said she would notify the book keeper when they came in. Two weeks later, NO REFUND. When I called to ask about my refund this lady was still trying to schedule an appointment for the repair, then told me that the book keeper hasnt been in since last week. NEVER AGAIN!
Mr. Appliance is not reliable. Not trustworthy. My dishwasher has been broken since July. They made a couple of service visits and did more harm than good. They claim that they need this part or that in order to complete the job. The parts are always “on order”, but never arrive. It is now the day before Thanksgiving and I still have a broken dishwasher. I got an earful from the Superviser Christine last night about how the parts aren’t in and I need to be patient. Patient? After 4 months? My opinion: Don’t use them. If you do, don’t trust them. My advice to Christine: be more understanding of customers and less angry.
Called to get an estimate based on the service code my dishwasher gave. They wouldnt give any prices over the phone other than $90 to come look at it and give an estimate. What type of honest business wont give a price with the acceptance that it will change if the repair isnt what the computer on the dishwasher said it is?
Dont use this company. Horrible experience. We ordered a refrigerator repair, they said $1020 for the parts and labor, we paid, Then 3 weeks went by, 3 no show appointments, frustrating to wait each time. Talked to the supervisor Christine, but did not help. Then sent us a bill $250 for additional parts, talked to Christine again, she said will not charge that. But then they charged without asking, to our credit card, not only the $250 but another $350. Total end up paying much more. The clark has no patience talking to you, Christine just play games, dont care about any job, never remembered what she promised people.
Prompt and professional service. Technician Carlos was very patient and took initiative to find alternative solutions to my washer’s problem without first recommending the expensive route. Ultimately, it was apparent that the valves needed to be replaced, and he installed new ones. Now, the washer no longer leaks and is working great! Thank you!
Our microwave is now back in working order, thanks to Alex and hisable partner, two great techs. They were efficient, professional, and, most important for me, quicker than I expected. We would have given them 5 stars, except that it was sometimesdifficult to make appts. because of a lack of techs on duty on aparticular day. And, there was an additional problem of needingtwo techs for our particular job, which seemed hard for the officeto organize on the day(s) that I requested. Its all water under the bridge now, as the saying goes, becausewere now enjoying our fully-operational microwave. Thank you,Mr. Appliance!
After scheduling a diagnostic visit for a broken dishwasher, I decided not to go ahead with the repair. However, my credit card was charged for the full repair. I contacted the office and requested a refund( minus the diagnostic charge) and was given the run around for almost a week. It took several calls to finally have my money refunded. Staff was less than helpful. Overpriced and bad customer relations. Would not recommend them.
Great experience. They were great in setting up the appointment, sending a reminder and showing up on time. They sent an additional technician to help with the job at no extra charge. Avinash was great, fixed the problem and left everything looking the way it was before - no mess.
Kimarley came to my apartment three months ago. He was prompt, polite, efficient, and solved problems with my dishwasher and cooktop that even the manufacturers repair people couldnt correct. Three months later, the cooktop stopped lighting again, and Mr. Appliance sent Marley back per their warranty. Once again, he arrived promptly, he was polite and extremely efficient and within fifteen minutes had identified and corrected the problem. I highly recommend Mr. Appliance for any appliance repair needs.
The worst professional services experience of my life. Was referred to these people via Bosch for two BRAND NEW ovens under warranty that didnt work out of the box. Its now nearly 3 months after this all started and I still call the office daily to speak to the rudest receptionist in New York (its comical) who promises to call me back but never does. Each time theres a different (false) excuse. When I insist on staying on the phone while she does whatever (fake) task, she gets angry as if Im the problem. Her favorite line is the system is down. What system? The one where you write down my name, case number and phone and call me back? If you use this clown outfit, youre asking for a disaster.
Their listing states they repair commercial dishwashers:Our appliance experts maintain and repair commercial and residential dishwashers, dishwasher drawers, free-standing units, compact dishwashers andWe have a customer needing repairs to their commercial dishwashing machine. Gave them a call and asked about the commercial repairs. Was told they dont do commercial repairs. I told the person on the phone it says they do in their listing and she simply said thank you and hung up.
This is perhaps the worst customer experience I have ever had in my life. The lady (Christine) who picks up the phone was extremely rude, hung up on me several times and would ask for our address on the phone, put me on hold for a long time and then came back & asked me our address again. SEVERAL TIMES. And she explained she just had 10 more calls on the line and couldnt remember. After the fourth appointment to fix our freezer (not cold enough) to no avail, Christine told us the technician needed to go back and re-look at it. I asked her what was the major problem - it has been 2 months since their first appointment. She started yelling at me:I dont understand your question, the technician will go back and take a look at it.... And then she hung up on me. With all this wonderful service we were billed $800+ (with nothing changed) to date.I felt this is like a joke, but please please avoid this company at all cost.
To give them 1 star to being kind. Like, the other reviewer, they gave me the wrong diagnosis and tried to charge me over $2k for the job. They charged me $172 for the wrong diagnosis. I contacted the authorized repair vendor of the appliance and they said only 1 part had to be replaced, vs 3 that Mr. Appliances technician recommended, and did the job for $550. They refuse to issue me the diagnostic charge even though completely misdiagnosed.Mr. Appliances technicians are either incompetent or frauds. Either way, steer clear of them!
The technicians from Mr. Appliance were polite and very capable. They were impressively knowledgeable about a fairly obscure product (under the counter two drawer refrigerator freezer) and able to diagnose and fix the problem. I’d be happy to call Mr. Appliance again if needed.
This is the single worst repair company I have ever had to deal with. We had a simple issue with our washers filter. Here are some numbers to consider:How much we were charged: $615.03Number of appointments they scheduled with us and then cancelled: 4Number of appointments they needed to fix the issue: 2To top it all off they BROKE our drying machine while trying to fix our washer, and have still not fixed it.Please do yourself a favor and do not use this company.
Came recommended from store I bought dishwasher, so I called for an appt. Did not ask any details of my dishwasher, only my address and credit card number. So this guarantees them $159 evaluation fee but no possibility of repair on same day. Asked for the range of cost for a dishwasher repair - was told they cannot even guess. I mentioned I was considering buying a new one instead so if this will cost >$500, it may not make sense. Her response was that it will only cost $159 BUT I WILL STILL not have a working dishwasher. After reading other reviews, I understand they just overcharge.Going to have Miele service come instead, even if they will come a week later, but they will try to make the repair on the day of the visit.
I work in the facilities department of an office that noticed two of our Miele Microwaves handles were coming loose. Upon consulting with Miele they recommended Mr. Appliance as a service that could repair our microwaves. Everything after that has been awful. Mr. Appliance is a pretty terrible company and Miele is doing themselves a disservice to recommend them to anyone.First of all, scheduling was a nightmare. It took over a week to get them to submit a COI so they could enter our building. Then when they got here their technician said he would be back in a day or two and would handle scheduling. Then we didnt hear from them for over two weeks. When they finally came out of the woods and scheduled an appointment with us, they sent three technicians to tighten the handle on our microwave. A task they seem to have forgotten was the purpose of their visit, maybe because it had been over two weeks. Then they claimed that they were only told it would be a repair of one microwave, not two. Even though I have numerous written accounts that it should be two microwaves being repaired. When this was pointed out to their technicians they became rude, loud, and belligerent. Three men shouting down a female receptionist isnt something that goes well by us.Finally they charged us almost $800 to tighten four bolts. At no time was a price quoted to me. Had we been aware that this was the cost of the repair we might have bought a new microwave instead. But once again they shouted down our receptionist. All in all, a terrible company and if you are looking for an appliance repair service in the New York City area you should avoid these guys at all cost until they get their act together.
My washer was making a terrible sound while it was being used. The technician kimarley came and determined i just had coins stuck in my drain pump. He got rid of the coins and check my part for damage. My washer works with no noises now. Very satisfied. Highly recommend.
The company shows up at strange times -- they were scheduled for Wed and came Tuesday. I gave them my credit card and asked for pricing for me to approve before charging.. it was not given and I was charged an extortionate amount of $1,000 + for some one in my home for an hour or two.I guess I choose the wrong career. I should have been an appliance technician and maybe I could have retired at 50 years old.Appliance just needed maintenance. it was fixed but it cost nearly MORE than the actually brand new appliance!
No show after promising a repair person would come - repair person never called, nor can their office reach said repair person. They wanted to reschedule next week, but as I see in the reviews this is not a rare occurrence, l’ve cancelled. Would not recommend. Talk a great game but fall way way short.
I feel completely violated by this company for charging me $550 for 20 minutes of labor and a $203 part. I called a couple of places and out of desperation, decided to book an appointment with Mr. Appliance. Take my advice and rather wait than be taken for a fool. I am certain that the new part wasn’t necessary, but was an easy fix for an inexperienced technician that is not familiar with all the complicated parts of a Miele dishwasher. I rather wash dishes by hand than call this company again.
I have used Mr. Appliance on two occasions – once for a washing machine and just recently for my gas dryer. On both occasions they were professional, courteous, and repaired the problem. The technicians put covers on their shoes and even vacuumed the hard to reach lint trapped behind the dryer.
I live around the corner from their offices and scheduled an appointment for between 8:30 and 9:30 am and they showed up within that window. Technician Kimarley Sutherland and his assistant were quite friendly and diagnosed the leak as coming from the water feed to the disused icemaker that I thought I had shut off long ago so it was a simple fix. Moreover, they even came with booties to ensure my home was not sullied by their boots. It was a costly way to find a leak but better than having to replace the whole refrigerator before I was ready to replace it or throw my back out from manhandling the fridge solo. They also cleaned up what water was leaked under the fridge for me and the refrigerator coils as well while they were here. I hope that the leak is truly taken care of and that was the only source!
My stove nightmare is finally over thanks to Avi of Mr. Appliance. He is knowledgeable, personable and extremely professional. He assessed my very complicated Blue Star stove issue(s) and saw it through from beginning to end. I’m thrilled to have found this wonderful and efficient company and even more thrilled to know that if I ever run into a stove problem again (or any appliance problem for that matter), Avi of Mr. Appliance is my guy and tops in my book!Karen Wilder, Upper West Side, NYC
Needed a quote on fixing a dishwasher and refrigerator. The technician (Robert Weber) was prompt, friendly, considerate, and very knowledgeable. No pushy sales pitch, worked with his associate (did not catch his name) in an efficient and professional manner. Would definitely do business with Mr. Appliance again, and would recommend them to friends in NYC. Thanks, Robert!
Marley and Kimberley from Mr.Appliance came to remove a defective heater and replace it with a new one in my Liebherr refrigerator. I could tell from the way Marley went about repairing my refrigerator that he is a pro. Both were professional and went out of their way to make sure everything was in order before leaving. It was a pleasure dealing with them.
**Most Dishonest business** Told me wrong diagnosis on my Bosch washer. Recommend to change the pump for $650 with tax. (New washer is $1100). I did paid $179.11 for their visit. So, I call for 2nd opinion from Real Bosch service, nothing wrong with washer. Only child guide lock was on.Kimarly, the tech, and Stu, the owner, are running a scam. Big Scam explodes people’s desperation(More 1 Star reviews than 5 Star. All 5 Star review says 2 words “Amazing & Helpful” Nothing in detail. Go figure )
This unfortunately was one of the worst experiences I have had with an appliance company. Firstly, it took over a month to get a technician out to the apartment. No one seemed to know what they were doing at this place. I had to constantly follow up for even the most basic of service. I finally get someone to the apartment for a simple gasket replacement and they tell me its going to be $578!!! The cost for the gasket is around $50. In my opinion they are a bunch of crooks and I will never deal with them again. My suggestion is to stay far away from these people.
WARNING!!! Broken and unfixed washer and dryer for since October. 3 visits later after constant calling the office finally sent someone again. I have angry tenants who are very inconvenienced from non working machines. Time is money and trust is everything. This company broke that landlord tenant relationship, my time and it cost me top dollar to still have broken appliances. First, it was not even turning on, Now my dryer is blowing cold air! This is truly unexceptable. SCAM Warning!!
I had plethora of technicians come by to fix my Leak in my fridge but it keep leaking after couple day. I am a novice when it come to things like this, but Mr Sutherland was the last technician to come by and it hasn’t leaked since. After speaking to him about the problem he was very informative and I can tell that this was his bailiwick.
Terrible Customer Service. I called Mr Appliance for service on my Meila dishwasher - and called, and called. The person who answered the phone took my information and promised to call back, but never did. I called twice on a Monday and she said theyd call back in an hour. I called 4 hours later - she said theyd call the next day. The next day she said theyd call later in the week. No one from Mr. Appliance ever returned my calls.
The gentleman was courteous, professional and came in prepared with mask and gloves against the Covid-19 virus . Which we really appreciated and are thankful for. He explained everything as he tried to figure out what was wrong with my refrigerator. Everything is fine now thanks to this gentleman.
Mr.Appliance Technician Kimarley is very tech savvy and truly understands his craft. He has a very pleasant disposition and also very knowledgeable his ability to answer questions and break down the information to explain his job task in the simplist terms are great. I would highly recommend this technician to anyone.
I was recommended to them by Broan for servicing my range hood and I am extremely disappointed by their (the one in the Upper East side) attitude and service. I requested for a morning appointment twice and despite confirmation by the lady who picks up the phone, they scheduled it randomly. Eventually their lack of commitment and professionalism led me to find alternate service providers.
Got a service quote on a Bosch dryer. Required $149 for visits Guy comes to our apt - apparently can’t figure out what model # dryer is. We have the manual and the serial number is right there. Also you can literally take a picture of it and google it. I get him the number. He says he needs to do some “research”. Then comes back with a quote to replace a pump for $611 when the part costs $73 online. We decided to buy a new dryer instead.
These guys are an absolute disaster as a service shop. Never use them. They showed up three times: 1) first time did nothing, 2) second time they tried to fix my freezer and they ended up breaking both my freezer and my fridge. (my fridge was fully functional before they came-i ended up with a broken freezer and a broken fridge). 3) the third time they rescheduled twice, finally showed up 3 weeks later (through the entire time I had no freezer or fridge) and even then showed up at the wrong time. The fridge did not ever get fixed. I am now going directly to the manufacturer. On top of all that, the technician was incredibly rude as was the customer service. He kept making excuses for all the mistakes and arguing which was even more frustrating.STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!!!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This is the most dishonest company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They have defrauded us out of several hundred dollars and lie to me every time I ask about it. On at least eight occasions, they told me the amount they owed me would be credited to my Visa account by the end of the day. Still no credit. I REPEAT - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Current situation:Miele asked them to fix a Miele Coffee Machine under warranty- They came 3 times - They changed 3 parts of the device- I had to call so far 10 times to follow up- I sent 12 emails to follow upMy issue is still there 1.5 month later and I still dont know when it will be fixed
Customer service is terrible. The repairman broke a door flap on my washing machine and the company has not yet ordered a replacement. The people in the office do not call back and after several months, I have actually put in a call to the corporate franchise office of the Mr. Appliance holding company (Dwyer Group). The NYC franchise at 500 East 88th Street keeps saying they will call me back and never do. The most recent time, they said, We will call you back within an hour, and still did not. For a local company that does so much self-promotion and accepts awards, I question if they really care about their customers. I am pressing my issue with the corporate office and if I do not get satisfaction, I will go to the Better Business Bureau and to the news media.
I feel foolish for even using this company after seeing all the other reviews here, but maybe one more negative review will help save someone else from the misery of trying to deal with this company.Im now on month 6 of trying to get an ice machine with a fridge repaired. NINE appointments later, the unit still doesnt work. Theyve shown up late, theyve not shown up at all, and when they did show up, they didnt actually fix anything. Weve been charged hundreds for various parts they diagnosed as the problem, and then installed. Were now arguing with them over a refund given that NONE of their repairs actually worked. So, yeah, call someone (anyone) else.
Go with Mr Appliance NY and be ready for the worst experience. From cancellation after cancellation to POOR customer service to double charging. If i could give them a review with no stars i would! Christina is the manager. She is rude and makes you feel like you are annoying her with your business. If the job is burning you out it may be time to move onto something else where you dont have to work people!
The people who schedule the appointments at this business are terrible. They said I had a confirmed service call and never sent the confirmation email. When I called to ask about the appointment they said I didn’t have one. They then bumped me to the next next day instead of honoring the appointment even though they said they remembered my call.Don’t trust this company.
The WORST company ever!!!! WORST! They take forever to get back to you. UNORGANIZED. U ask for evening appointment and they sent u an email for morning availability. They take forever to get back to you and when you call them, you have to keep on repeating the same information every time because they don’t notate the account or i don’t even know if they have the possibility to do so! So Unprofessional!
This is the worst service ever!!! Beginning with the technicians and not properly diagnosing the unit, not having the correct equipment and leaving the job incomplete. After numerous calls to the office, the customer service you receive from the manager Christina down to her employees is TERRIBLE!!!! She sure leads by example! Im shocked they are still in business... If I could rate a ZERO I would gladly do so. STAY AWAY!!!!!
Terrible experience. Took 2 weeks to get an appointment to which they came forgot to order a part and then had to wait another 2 weeks for them to come do the repair to the find out the wrong part was ordered waited another 2 weeks for a repair and they were still not able to fix it! If you have an Asko do not use them!
Scheduled an appointment for Tuesday online and received a call they will come by Wednesday. Wednesday they called then said it will be Friday. Friday they called and said maybe sometime next week. Awful! Could have arrange for another company to assist. Not professional.
Mr Appliance evaluated my refrigerator Aug 6th and said the part would be in a few days. Here we are three weeks later and I am still living of a cooler. Please just stop the shallow promises abd tell me the truth the parts are nor available and tge refrigerator is beyond repair .I cant cook at home and therefore cant have friends or family over to socialize.
WORST COMPNY EVER! DO NOT HIRE THEM.THEY SENT THE TECH ON THE WORNG TIME.HE DIAGNOSED OUR APPLIANCE WRONGLY. IT WAS A SIMPLE SCREW LOOSE AND HE TOLD US TO CHANGE THE ENTIRE MOTOR WHICH WOULD COST 1K. I ASKED TO COMPLAIN THE MANAGER WAS LAUGHING AT MY FACE AND SAID THEU DO NOT RETURN THE MONEY BACK FOR A WORNG DIAGNOSE. DONT EVER CALL THEM

2022-07-01Absolute worst experience. Called them in may to fix a refrigerator. They said we needed the heater replaced. We spent over $1000. 2 weeks later, the fridge didn’t work again. They came back and said we needed a bigger fridge. They said it would take 3-4 business days. Fridge stopped working again and I called every other day and was basically told they would call me back. Brought in another repair company to address the issue. They never replaced the heater, only added a $10 wire. The heater worked and it was the thermostat that needed to be fixed all along. They looked over the invoice and it is all made up. They charged me for work they never did and never even attempted to fix the fridge. They won’t return my calls or let me speak to someone about a refund. Christine - the office manager - says she will call me back every time we speak and has never called back. We deserve a refund. They charged us for work they didn’t do and parts they didn’t install. Worst experience and this company is so unprofessional and unethical. NOBODY should use them.

2022-04-26Worst experience ever. Repairman came to diagnose and then never sent the estimate. He said the office had it. The office said he had it. Meanwhile, Im calling every day and my tenant expects a major discount on his rent. Calling Mister Appliance actually COST ME MORE MONEY instead of fixing anything. Oh, and the guy finally came back 2 weeks later to redo the estimate AFTER I told the office I had found someone else. Nice work.

2022-09-09The technician—Nevin⏤was great! He knew his stuff (he didn’t have to call an expert back at the office); he was honest and accurately projected the time and the cost. We are pleased and grateful. The office staff is also fabulous: clear, straightforward, and friendly.

2022-07-21If I could give them negative reviews I would. This place STEALS from you. I originally contacted Mr. Appliance to help repair my dishwasher. I paid the fee for their assessment and they came to my apartment and gave me a quote. After waiting a few weeks and PREPAYING for the parts and service, they came to repair my dishwasher only to realize they didnt need all the parts they quoted and charged me for. They told me they would refund me for the parts they misquoted immediately. ITS BEEN 10 MONTHS. I call every week and they tell me they are cutting me a check tomorrow. Its a lie, they are frauds and thieves. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

2022-06-15They were able to send someone the day after we called. They texted us letting us know when they would be arriving on the morning of the day of the appointment. Although the repairman arrived late, I called and the repairman called back quickly to say he was stuck in traffic but was on the way. When they got here they did an excellent job repairing our dryer vent, reattaching it and cleaning it.

2022-03-29I would not recommend this company. The technician canceled once, and showed up twice well outside of the scheduled time so on the third try I rushed home from work as to not waste any more time. He diagnosed the issue within 5 minutes and let me know id be getting a work order that summarizes the issue along with the part ordered. After a month and 3 emails I never got a response but got the work order which says part is discontinued. Called another company and it was ordered in 15 minutes. Save your time and your money and go with someone professional.

2022-05-26DO NOT USE ! They sent a tech to fix my gaggenau dishwasher when he arrived he checked the error code on the dishwasher and told me that I needed an entire new drain line. In total this would cost me $795.24. I agreed to this as I thought the tech must be correct. As it turns out all I had to do was a hard reset on the machine and the error code went away and the dishwasher functioned properly. I called them to cancel the drain line and let them know that the tech was clearly not trained properly on this appliance. I then asked for a refund since I would not be needing the drain. I spoke with Sherry who told me that they would still charge for the service call but would refund the amount for parts. This happened on March 8th, I have called and spoken with them once a week with only I will take care of this from Sherry. Crickets and it has not been refunded as of May 26. My only viable next step is going to small claims court. DO NOT USE THEM

2022-07-12I should have been alerted by the fact that staff answering the phone is always either, completely disinterested, annoyed, or inept at gathering basic information when you call. But we still booked a service appointment for the company with more than 72 hours notice. No one bothered to show up, no call, NOTHING. Customer support was non-existent because when I called and informed the company, the only response was we take your credit card but you werent charged. There was no apology at the unprofessionalism of the company, no restitution of wasted time and resources for a technician who never showed -- the woman did not even acknowledge anything beyond my mention of needing money returned to the credit card.In short, this is NYC so there are literally a million vendors offering the same service so save yourself the time, money, & frustration by booking ANY other business besides Mr. Appliance.

2022-04-21Absolutely awful experience. Technician showed up and said report would be done that day and report would be sent the following day to Bosch. This was not done. I chased this every single day for two weeks and as of right now two weeks later it has still not been sent to Bosch. The office manager is rude and will just say ‘it will be sent in a timely manner’ when you call to ask.A timely manner was two weeks ago like I was told. They don’t care and are rude, your report won’t be sent, avoid at all costs.

2022-08-18We had our 10+ year old Thermador oven repaired. It was in bad need of a tune-up! Mr Appliance was responsive, prompt, and professional. Our technician Sanjay came to diagnose the problem, and came back again with someone else to repair it. The price is a bit on the higher side, but you get what you pay for. We now have what seems like a brand new oven!! Very pleased, would highly recommend.
