During these trying times the staff at Mr. Bills was just great. I needed information and chemicals for my daughters hot tub since she wanted to stay in the house. The staff not only promptly and courteously guided me, they made me feel like I knew exactly what was going on and that I was getting what I needed. Prices were reasonable and store was clean. Will not hesitate to visit again!
I live half way between Norwich and Binghamton. I used the pool service in Norwich when I first got my pool (above ground Intex vinyl side 12x24 rectangle). I wouldnt buy a bag of shock from them. So glad I found Mr. Bills! They get me going in the spring and if I have any questions, they have an answer and wonderful, phone service! A real person! So appreciate Mr. Bills staff!
I AM OVER THE MOON happy with Mr Bills Pools & Spas installation of my new pool liner. My pool looks better than when I first bought it. They got rid of the packing materials the new liner came in, as well as removing and getting rid of the old liner, hooking up the skimmer, the water return, and all the hoses, for the pump, the filter, and the heater. You would never even know that they had been here. BRAVO and THANK YOU Mr Bills. I will always recommend you to anyone looking for service to their pool or spa.
BEWARE!!!! Took our pool water pump to them to repair. They replaced the seal and we took it home and it leaked worse than before we took it in. We took it back and days later, we got a call saying that the shank was rusted and we needed a new motor. My husband is a mechanic so we picked the pump up the next day so he could look at it. First thing he noticed was that when he turned it upside down, water poured out. He knew then that it hadnt been taken apart since he took it off the pool last, because if they had taken it apart, the water would have drained. When he took it apart he found that the motor was fine but that they had put the seal in backwards. He fixed it, put it back together and back on the pool. Works perfectly now!! I called them and told them what my husband found and told them that we shouldnt have to pay for anything but the cost of the seal. I told them that we would give them time to make it right before we posted a review. I thought that was fair considering they were getting ready to stick us for the price of a new motor and labor. Obviously bad reviews dont concern them because we havent gotten a call back. And hes never there when we call. Im so sick of places like this taking advantage of little people who dont know about how to repair stuff. I just wonder how many people they stick with large bills for things they dont need. If it happened to us, theyve done it before!
BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS! Extremely rude and unprofessional Liars. We purchased a 15 round pool. When we called to arrange pickup, we were told they did not have it stock, so they graciously offered a 18 pool upgrade at no additional cost. Later they found a 15 pool in stock (they said) and called us back to retract the offer and wouldnt honor their offer to upgrade. My request to have the owner call me was ignored. They told us we could pick it up anytime then when we wanted to go pick it up, some of the parts were in Syracuse. I will never do business with them again and will find someone else to do the install.
I called Bill’s prior to store hours this morning, I received a prompt call back, and had a repair man at my house by 1pm to take a look at my hot tub (which was purchased from a different store). The problem was a minor one, literally a $5 fix. I am impressed by the prompt and professional service.
I contacted this business to get water delivered for my pool five times and one was in person when I asked them where my water was coming from before they told me that they had no record of any kind that I ever even contacted them to schedule a delivery. I took two and a half days off work as I was given three definitely tomorrow. They could care less. I found another business that did the same exact price and they did it the following day.
Ive had nothing but problems. they didnt place the skimmer and pump where I wanted them after I was told numerous times they would place them where I wanted. I was never told anything about needing a building permit. I was never told about an electrical outlet for the pool. I waited a month for the install. they give me attitude when i call to ask questions. Im so unpleased with them! nothing has gone as I wanted. Ive had the pool about a month. Ive been in it 3 times for a total of about 60 mins tops... basically just floating... today I look out the water level is low.... looks like water is leaking from the framing on the one side. how is there a leak... its just over 30 days old, barely used! Im so not happy! thank goodness I took pics of the process along the way with them. they are just rude and dont care.
I would give him a -10 if I could. This was absolute nightmare every time I had to deal with this man. He was rude, swore at me, threw a book at me told me to write my address down so that I could have them come look at the problems with my pool liner. You put in my pool and 2 liners... seriously you don’t know my address?!? He yelled at me “you’re not even a customer here!” I replied, “I’ve bought a pool, 2 liners, A pool pump, to pool filters, chemicals, a heater, and I’m not a customer?? Just because I choose now to deal with anyone but him??! It was an absolute horrible experience.!! I cannot stress how awful His “customer service” is. ANY POOL COMPANY IN THIS AREA is a better choice than Mr. Bill‘s pools and spa !! I wouldn’t buy so much is a chlorine tablet from this man.!!
Run away as fast as you can. Charged me for 3 hours of work when they were at my house for only an hour and for a part that was never used because our pool was not worth repairing. I have already filed a complaint with the NYS Attorney Generals office on the advice of an attorney and I recommend anyone else who has had issues with them do the same. My attorney said what they did is consumer fraud. Marion and Bill are both difficult to deal with and honestly have zero customer service skills.
Mr Bills pools And Spas saved our sons graduation party. We had purchased a very expensive pool from his competition and when the first thing went wrong with our pool and it collapsed the company did nothing to help us. But I called Mr Bills Pools and he was there the next day assessing the damage and got the pool back up in action in 4 days. Since that time I have never used any service except Mr Bills Pools. We purchased a new pool from him 2 years ago and never worry anymore about the service and getting any products that are needed. . . Mr. Bills is the best in sales and Service after the sale. THANK You Mr Bills!
Mr. Bill installed our pool this summer (2018). Despite the rain every single day, he had a crew there working in and around the rain to get the job done as he promised. As a business owner myself, I would be frustrated with what I’m sure amounted to extra labor costs and time away from other projects, but they got the job done and it looks great.
Awesome service. Not sure what’s up with some of the bad reviews. Everything was smooth sailing all the way through. Had a pretty bad issue that could have cost a lot. Bill came right out and had a few ideas to try before replacing the liner and he was able to get me fixed for a couple of bucks instead of thousands. Would recommend them to anyone.
The Friendly and knowledgeable staff helped us, pool newbies, get our pool up and running. Our pool was dark green with tadpoles and they helped us get it crystal clear!! Cant thank you enough! They also have good prices on pool supplies and chemicals,, half that of walmart
Ornery, discourteous, unprofessional staff. Stopped in several years ago to try to purchase new hoses for the filtration system. Admittedly, we were beginners at pool maintenance. The store associate acted as if we were bothering her, and, with an audible huff, showed us to a box of miscellaneous hoses that mostly wouldnt do for what we needed, then went back to standing behind the counter and glaring. We left without buying anything, and havent been back.(Fishy how there are so many glowing 5 star reviews by people who have submitted only one review. Is the owner trying to stack the deck against all the negative reviews by posting fakes??)
I got a Jacuzzi hot tub as they were selling off the floor due to not being a dealer for them anymore...this unit has never worked right from day 1. Anytime Id go in to ask a question about it other customers would be yelling cause their items werent working. I had to get a company in SYR to come down and at this point it has cost 1/2 the price of the hot tub now weve given up and its a deck ornament. :(
Worst customer service ever!! Im literally on the phone with them now and have been waiting on hold for 20 minutes. The lady who answered the phone (receptionist) could do nothing without Bill there, which is unfortunate because every time we called he seemed to not be there. I advise anyone looking for a professional service to avoid these people at all cost!! I am still on hold, and now the phone hung up. 25 minutes wasted of my precious time! AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!!
I have a bank statement with your company on it that I will crop and share charging me $160. You must keep records like you handle customers!Hired them to service my pool, they were supposed to come out every 2 weeks. They only showed up once and charged my credit card $160. Never showed up again. Horrible way to do business. Now im disputing the charges with my bank for fraudulent charges. What a nightmare!
The people that work on the pool do not like to deal with people. They like to show up when no one is around (forget about arriving according to an appointment), so that they can do the work however they please and not have to interact with clients who may have questions. They never leave a note as to what they did or leave any information. They also will break pipe connections or other items and leave no note and pretend as though it never happened. In addition, they will walk on decks with muddy shoes when they can walk around it, and they also do not clean up their messes. You will find packaging or other things that have been thrown in the corner and not disposed properly or I have had sand dumped on the front lawn. If you happen to be home when they arrive, they seem annoyed to answer questions. They sometimes just ignore you when you speak to them. They do enter quietly - only plus, but it is probably to avoid talking to anyone or hoping you do not notice how they do their work, what they broke and/or what little messes they leave behind.
Thought that they were a good caring company but not,,dont care if problem has to be fixed for work that was done wrong and are very rude when try and talk to anyone there, they dont pull there own permits so they dont get fined and have to fix something wrong in timely manner DONT USE THEM they dont care if there is problem they wont get the fine when inspector comes you will,,very bad service
Most unorganized place I ever saw. Does not know what he is doing!! Jerked us around for 2 weeks trying to get part for filter as our pool turned more green with each passing day. Finally went to Coral Isle pools - they had us up and running in 2 days!!! Do not go to Mr. Bills - you will be sorry if you do!!!!
My pool was filled with green river water...also when I asked the pool guy to stop he didnt it was too late.. I put pictures on FB..they are public..I was again on FB told how stupid I am...worst small business I have ever dealt with..reviews look good due to owner responding and adding stars ( which you are not suspossed to do) does anyway...

2022-03-08I bought a Hot tub in the fall, I am very happy I did. The staff at Mr Bills were very helpful and professional. We are new hot tub owners and had a lot of questions, they were patient and provided us with all the information we needed! Marian told us to come in any time for free water testing and we did! She took the time to explain step by step everyone was very helpful and pressure to work with. I would highly recommend Mr Bills pools

2021-07-30I had a new liner installed in my inground pool this summer. The staff at Mr. Bills were very professional and friendly from the moment I contacted them for an estimate, to signing the contract and having the job completed on time.Bill himself and two other workers came out to install the liner. And it is fantastic! It fits like a glove and is absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t be happier! I was very pleased with the overall cost for everything.I chose the gulf coast/ tan seastone liner pattern for a more unique look. It’s just so cool looking. Reminds me of a Laguna the way the color fades from shimmering gold to Aqua as the water gets deeper.

2022-05-19Ive had trouble finding a pool company locally that I didnt always get the impression I was bothering them by calling. Everyone else always feels like they are too busy to care or are angry they got stuck on cashier or phone duty that day.Bills was pleasant on the phone and pleasant in person. Even though I had bought parts online and was trying to fix things myself. I look forward to hopefully bringing business back here.

2022-05-28(Soo thankful we installed cameras on the property and this entire exchange is on video. I clearly say in this text i was unaware that the person installing the water did not make adjustments to smooth wrinkles out an easy set pool and when I realized he did not I asked to stop the fill because when he first arrived he said if he noticed the pool was filling wrong he would have to quit the job, however he noticed and never said anything because he intended on still charging me a complete fill. That is the issue here for me. He noticed and said nothing. This person experienced with seeing this type of pool filled, yes my expectations of the persons duties were wrong however i was unaware and would have loved him to say this will not turn out ok like he said he would do before he started , being the professional he is.I have never filled an easy set before and he had just told us this was his i cant remember if he said 3rd or 6th for the day. )I was soo happy to have my 15 by 48 easyset pool filled by this company. I booked almost 2 months in advance to guarantee a spot with them. Read all the reviews and this seemed like a good quality company to use. I took the day off work because I was told they did not have a time frame and I didnt want to inconvenience anyone by getting them to wait around for me. Well here it was 4pm and i called the office and she said some things came up with the guy, he was running behind and would be to me with in 2 hours. I said ok I understood because things happen and I work in the medical field so I definitely have patience. At 5:33 he called and said he was 25 minutes away which was more like 40 but whose counting at this point. I was super stoked to know I didn’t have to wait around while my hose filled the pool. I see the truck coming down my street and im super excited. Well the pool is laid and ready to be filled. The guy hooks up the water and he tells us about his bad day complaining about previous clients. Im like ok, then he say if this start to fill lopsided he will have to quit. Well i notice the pool is not filling right so i ask him to stop the water. He never even say a thing although later in conversation he said he noticed but it was not his problem. He was going to let it fill all crazy and still charge me $351 for a pool i would not be able to fill right or use. (((((((((

2022-05-07Worst company ive ever dealt with in my life. they took 2000 dollars off my credit card and did no work. supplied nothing. wanted 3200 for a liner i bought elsewhere for 800.excact same liner! they were at my house for 10 minutes, and never came back. i did all the work myself. my pool is full and finished now. they refuse to refund any of the 2000 they took off my debit card. alot of people are upset about this, some are cancelling his service on their pool upkeep. going to other company. the company has to write their own 5 star reviews to keep them from falling down to 2 somthing! eventually all customers will realize they do not care about them or thier pool. just read his responses to the many bad ones. and pretends their not a real customer. he called us liars too. but he likes my free money. 2000 that is. this is all fact. thats why he never responds to my review or calls it fake. no one fakes bad reviews for the heck of it!!! really?? all work done myself in pictures. all true nothing false here like he always claims. Wanted us to pay 1200 more, on top of the 2000 he already took! Just to pick up the liner. Bought it elsewhere for 800 Total. Same liner, and he keeps all of the 2000 dollars! What a business! 2021-09-01We purchased our hot tub from Mr Bills back in 2017 and the process was great- the explained the pros/cons of the different manufacturers/models, the installation process, etc. We were new hot tub owners and had a lot of questions- they were patient and provided us with all the information we asked for (free water analysis, recommendations for maintaining water quality, etc.)This year we started having an issue with the hot tub maintaining the water temp in the spring. Mr. Bills came out the day we reported the issue and identified a defective sensor. Unfortunately the replacement was back-ordered (like everything these days) so it took a while to come in. As soon as the replacement sensor came in, they called and installed it the same day. When they replaced the sensor they discovered the heater had gone bad but found a replacement that day so we could use our hot tub again.Mr. Bills has always been very helpful and friendly over the years.

2021-06-06We have used Bills Pools & Spas for a number of years. They installed a new liner, a new filter (from DE to Sand) a new heater and it has been a tremendous blessing. We also get our water tested each year with them which have kept our pool running efficiently. They always have given us great advice and we look forward to continue to shop there for our pool needs. 2021-05-12We recently bought a home with a pool. We were unsure of pools condition ect. After calling several places Mr Bills was the only one who could come out before June or even answer our calls. We scheduled a pool opening. The two young men that came out were very nice. After inspecting the pool they noticed the skimmer was cracked, thus opening could not be completed. Mr Bills promptly ordered a new part and even showed up a week early to install it. Now we just have to get the pool filled and they promised to come right out to finish the opening. Very happy so far with the service at Mr Bills. They also have great with answering our 100’s of questions being new pool owners. Looking forward to using them for all our pool needs.

2020-06-14Delivered us water filled with metal while our 10 year old son was waiting to get in. Then we had to go to the store they did give us some free filters and spray with metal out. Didn’t work ended up throwing away 5 filters, buying $40 worth of shock from them, plus spending countless hours on the pool. We ended up draining and they brought us a new load of water. Water still wasn’t great have thrown out more filters and got a call demanding payment by 2 o’clock that day. I went in to speak with them about how I didn’t feel we should be charged full price after all the issues we had and missed out on a week of swimming. I offered and payed $140 of the $250 they wanted to charge us. I was told not to come back, then received a phone call saying that if I don’t pay the rest of the money, Mr. Bill will come drain my pool at my house. I told him he was not welcome on my property and if he did come on it, I would call the cops. Mr. Bill cursed me out, told me to get off his property, and said he doesn’t care if I call the cops he will drain my pool anyway! Not very professional and I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here, ever!
