Mr. Broadway in other cities:
The food was good but some of it was very overpriced. My butterbut squash soup was delicious, but my teo feiends ordered the $30+ shwarma platter - the shwarma was ok but a relatively small serving. You get more and better in a half pita stuffed with tons of veggies, tehini, and schug in Brooklun or Israel. To add insult to injry there is a credit card surcharge.
The pastrami burger I had was excellent. My main gripe is that the person with me had a Kale Caesar and they charged almost $18 for it. That’s insane. It’s a solid kosher spot and the quality is good. Just beware some items are massively overpriced while others are reasonable. A Kale salad should not be the same cost as a burger with pastrami on it.
Popular? Of course! A great location on Broadway in mid-town, Mr. Broadway is an amazing Kosher restaurant offering a wide variety of menu items to suite any taste. As packed as it was, we were seated relatively fast. The staff is courteous and efficient, seating and serving with a smile. The food is amazing. And, if you like pickles, youll love the endless pickle jar on your table!Prices are reasonable considering this is mid-town NYC. Bathrooms are clean, but very compact (and Im not a big guy). Well definitely visit again... RECOMMENDED. 😎
Mr Broadway continues to outshine the competition in the kosher meat space. Today we went splitsies and had the chicken cutlet and sun-dried tomato sandwich, which was excellent. Its got everything youd want, a light avocado cream and some pastrami to boot! It comes with some very crunchy sweet potato fries but you can easily swap it out for onion rings or regular fries. My friend got the pastrami burger cooked medium, which he said was great, but his fries were soggy. I also got the crispy beef which was very similar to an orange chicken dish, just with the meat swapped. It was more battered and deep fried than traditional crispy beef, but it was very good and the broccoli was super crunchy. On other occasions we also got the chicken noodle soup, which was good. Pretty much any of the sandwiches are good - you cant go wrong. Just wish they would do more in the sauces department. Wish they had something spicy.
This is nasty stuff I really wanted to bring it backAnd make whoever cooked this eat it I couldn’t not care less about the $30 this nasty food coast but how do you mess up falafel raw falafel rolled up in nastyHummus and tahini the whole idea behind the falafelPlate ordered so I can get to my hotel room and make my own sandwich nice and neat you should be ashamed of yourself serving food like thisIf you hate your customers so bad do everyone a favor and get out of business
This Kosher restaurant in midtown Manhattan has an extensive menu of classic deli items like pastrami and corned beef, many Chinese dishes and various other items. The outdoor menu seems to be the same as the regular menu. There may be some vegetarian items on it but its heavily a meat menu,We have been going to Mr. Broadway for years . This was the first time since it reopened after the Corona virus crisis closed all New York restaurants for several months. Its really a very nice outdoor dining set up, maybe the nicest I have seen for a kosher restaurant. It was not too crowded and social distancing was possible. Even though it was outside on Broadway you could talk without screaming though it was in the evening, at 7PM- it might be a little noisier during the weekThey had a process of sanitizing the tables that was comforting. Customer Service as is normally the case here was great during our most recent visit . All in all it was a great visit and we look forward to coming back soon..
Five stars and I mean it! Friendly waiters! The food is really good and you are in the middle of Manhattan. Normally, eating out is not as fun with Coronavirus but they set up everything really nicely outside so you are basically eating in the middle of Manhattan with all the liveliness around you. I ordered the macaroni burger which is something I had never heard of before! The cheese was made with cashews which is a lot better than soy cheese. It tastes smooth yet thick and creamy and the burger was cooked wonderfully. I think the only thing this place is missing is a cocktail menu. It would be great to chill there again one afternoon with a bloody mary or long island iced tea but I guess when I come back I will just have to settle for beer or wine :)
I ordered from here 1-2x a day for a few months. Food isnt bad but the person who took my call was so rude and aggressive when the food was not delivered properly, blaming me for not being downstairs a half hour early etc that I tried other options I found far superior and no longer order from here.
Very disappointing experience. Made a reservation at 12 o’clock today for a party of 10 at 1 PM. Guy on the phone was rude. Arrived at the restaurant on time and was sent away, being told that they only open at 2 PM. He was extremely rude and yelling at me. Was the same guy that I spoke to on the phone, he also lied to me and said that He never spoke to me. Never again
Very nice place. There is a alchohol bar, TA option, deliveries and clean toilet. We ordered the Avocado and bacon burger and the MAC attack (mac&cheese with bacon burger).Avocado and bacon was very good, the kosher version of the MAC&C wasnt as good as we hoped though.(67$ includes beer, 2 burgers, tax, CC fee and tip)Good experience.Thank you!
Ive been to this place several times over the past 10 years and it has recently plummeted in quality.I had the chicken soup and the pastrami Sandwich. The chicken soup tasted like they used instant soup powder and the Pastrami sandwich was something you can expect to get a fast food place for $6.99 (not $22.99)It seemed like the food was made by a machine with zero attention to detail. Id give this place one star, but the service was friendly :)
Not a diner. Not upscale.Diassapointing and I left hungry as youll read below.Meats (the short ribs specifically), were dry and tasted far from fresh. But the turning point and reason for this generous star was the medium rare Filet Mignon I requested. It arrived looking quite sad and shriveled, plopped upon a pile of potatoes, the cut was absolutely charred. The most well-done chunk of charcoal I have ever been served.I muscled through and managed to cut off a corner so I could let the nice waitress have a look. She was helpful but my experience was done.Licking my finger after feeling the rarity of my Filet was enough for me. The taste of charred meat still lingers on my pallette.I asked for the check and left to continue the hunt for a satiating dinner.Dissatisfied. Diassapointed. Still hungry for my Filet Mignon. 😡
They renovated the place which made it lose its Jewish Deli flair, but the food is still fantastic and the service is great! Pricy, but what else can you expect in Midtown Manhattan?Update 09/12/22Had dinner with my sister and brother in law who came to visit from Mexico. Service was so-so. The minute we told the maître that we didnt have a reservation he got snippy. Once we sat down, our server took our orders. I ordered a Burger, which I always love, term was good, fries were done well. My sister ordered a salad and my BIL ordered a riceless sushi, which is where the problems started. They were missing a few items but neglected to tell us and just made the roll omitting them. Im not so upset because they didnt have the items, it was late. But to not say anything and bring the roll with items missing and then be snippy about it, that was no good. Always room for improvement.
Extremely disappointed. I placed an order on seamless and 6pm. Said it was going to be by me at 645-7pm. On the app is says it’s on the way. At 7:45 I called the store to see where the delivery guy is and the lady on the phone said my order was canceled with no reason. Says the kitchen canceled the order. The least they could of done is let me know.Never ordering from the place again.
Mr. Broadway is a delightful kosher eatery right in the middle of it all.The ambiance is friendly and energetic but you can also get a sense of privacy the further back you sit.The service is excellent and the food arrived very quickly. And the food....The sushi was ok, but the the appetizers and entrees were exceptionaly great. The short rib tacos were superbly melt in your mouth and the pastrami rueben pizzete was drizzled with an amazing honey mustard sauce. The chicken poboy was a delight of soft dark chicken and tons of flavors and our rib steak was exactly as ordered medium rare.I highly recommend Mr. Broadway!
Honestly a big fan of the restaurant but I’m so tired of them not updating google to reflect accurate store hours. In 2021 this should be second nature. My wife and I walked 10 blocks at 12 on a Sunday since google reflected an 11am opening only to be told the real opening time was as 2pm. Disappointing and not the first time this has happened to me with this storeUpdate: I was able to change the time since I am a local guide and it seems the restaurant didn’t notice the difference before my change
Their overstuffed deli sandwhich is the biggest joke of the menu. If Im spending $23.50 for a sandwhich, I expect it to be filling and not made up of a bunch of scraps. The server brought the food back and said thats the portion. My family has been coming to this restaurant for easily 20+ years. It has always been the highlight of our trips to NY. The quality of this place has taken a deep dive over the past few years while heavily increasing the price and drastically shrinking the portions.Additionally, they cap off the pickles and coleslaw they serve now. Since when? It was always endless. This place has become a huge disappointment. I cannot recommend this place any longer.
Honestly cannot believe they had the audacity to bill me for the food. My girlfriend lost her appetite trying not to regurgitate after 1 bite of the salmon (after we sent it back to get cooked again bc it was RAW)... 8/10 service though the waitress REALLY tried to help us but im 100% sure even she knew the food was trash. Kosher for passover burger was stale after i asked for medium rare... bogus. 35$ for a stale burger and undercooked oily salmon. Very pretty spot, but tremendously disgusted by the food. Wish they had the courtesy to not charge me for this.. i had better food from free lunch @ public school. Really hate to trash on a kosher spot... this isn’t why I came here.
I was in a hurry to get some dinner before a show and I decided to go here. Im glad I made that decision. The grilled chicken sandwich with fries was excellent. The girl who took my order was very helpful with getting my order together as fast as possible. Place was actually larger and nicer inside than I expected. When I get the chance Id love to go back and check out other menu options.
Its really amazing when a restaurant completely changes its nature. From its roots as a deli, Mr Broadway has become more of an upscale place. Gone is the 5 pages menu with too many choices. Now, a more respectable selection of somewhat more sophisticated choices abound. The service is good, although when they get very busy it feels like they dont have enough staff. The food is good, and reliable. For Thanksgiving 2019, the prix fixe menu was reasonably priced and offered several choices for all 3 courses. The appetizer pulled beef soft tacos was delicious, and the traditional turkey/stuffing/potatoes plate was very good - and very filling. If you walk out of M Broadway hungry, its definitely on you - the servings are generous. Mr Broadway is a tradition in Manhattan and continues to satisfy.
Mr. Broadway Kosser restaurant is one of the first foot step in NEW YORK, USA, when I was first time in that loving country. I worked here from 1997 to 2000 as a basement charge, EXPEDITOR, BUS BOY all in time to time with the healthy support of owners like, JACK DOC, MOTI GILBERG, HYME, GULI MAM, and my co-workers like TANSEN VAI in deli section, MIKE in Chinese section, SYSCO in grill section. I can never forget their friendly support through out my service time.I also remember LOPEZ, DAVID and many more co-workers, who was my best friend. Here I came to know the differents names of BEEF, being a HINDU by cast I handle all those items like, PASTRAMI, BRISKET, TOUNG, RIB, STEAK etc.and I also know how to make SWARMA in different from. I missed KARISHNA and other staffs which I can not remember now and for that I am sorry. Now come to quality of food which prepared here with the supervision of RABBAI. All food is KOSSER FOOD. I missed all of them. If someone of the restaurant can recognize me, expect a messege from them. IAM ANOL ( JACK, MOTI, GULI, HYME- CALL ME * SAHAB*). I pray for all of them. MAY GOD BLESSED THEM. THANK YOU MY FRIENDS. BYE.
Not a fan. i found the hard end of the avocado in my food and the staff were very unhelpful. they started being very passive-aggressive towards me. like the chef literally stared at me for 15 seconds. and the manager, who thankfully offered me store credit for my trouble, made me sit by my table for 20 minutes waiting for him to give it to me. the food was pretty expensive, and honestly didnt taste that good. unseasoned. theres definitely better restaurants out there.
Sad to say i had to change my review. I went last week looking forward to a good meal because i went a year ago and the food was insane. I will say the service was good however the bathrooms are a bit gross heads up for that. I think they lost their chef because frankly the food was really not good the meat in the sandwiches were cold and the fake cheese was already hard from it being cooled down. The empanadas were also cold and dry. It is sad to see a good restaurant loose its touch.
Had a great experience tonight at mr. broadway after not being there in a long time. Food was yummy. Portions are a nice large size. Food came out in a reasonable time. One of the dishes came slightly wrong and owner brought out a total new dish on the house. When leaving my son was catching the bus to go up to his university. The owner supplied him with water bottles and fruit cups for the ride which was very sweet. The waitress wasn’t the smiley type but still courteous. Will definitely go again.
This place is amazing. While slightly more expensive than most places since it is Manhattan downtown, it is still amazing. This is a great place for meetings and dates. The sushi is awesome and the staff is super friendly and quick to help. Best place to sit is at the bar. Highly recommended.
Very nice ambiance during the day. I came for a late lunch, and while the place was busy, it wasnt crowded. They started us off with some pickles which were pretty good. The food itself was fresh but I just wish they were stronger on the flavoring. I feel like theyre trying to play it too safe, making the food decent but nothing youd ask the chef about.
Very clean, sanitizing the tables and cutlery between each guest. Quieter than usual because theyre spacing guests. The mushroom gnocchi was very interesting and delicious. The truffle meat empanadas were FANTABULOUS. The mac n cheese didnt have any bacon, but they were very nice about taking it back and giving us another dish instead. Wasnt impressed by the pastrami pizza. Also wish they had a kids menu.
Excellent food and service. Burger tasty and cooked to my liking. Patient servers answering many questions asked by other members in the group. Quick turnaround and moderately priced. This is definitely a great place to go for a casual or more formal dining experience. Worth the time and effort. Good place!!!
Food is usually very good but things have changed. The menu, prices and service are not what it used to be.The portion sizes vary each time and when I mentioned it I was embarrassed rather than having the problem rectified. I emailed the management and they told me to come in for a complementary replacement of the order. When I came in to pick it up they treated me like a second class customer and kept me waiting for almost a hour. I asked over and over where is my order? Finally I received it to go! I was waiting almost a hour to receive my order people were getting served over and over again, coming and going while I patiently waited. I had to be somewhere and no matter what I said they just kept me waiting.Honestly, Ive been going there over twenty years but its not what it used to be.Hopefully things will get back to the good old days of great service, good food, nice portions, good value, attention to service and appreciation for there regular customers whove supported Mr. Broadway over the decades.Im a Account Executive and entertain regularly for my work. I cannot subject my clients to sub level service in the greatest city in the world.Hopefully things will turn around at Mr Broadway very soon.
Honestly terrible. The broadways chicken was dry and too sweet , and the other food was just not good. The waitress was rude and would ask everyone why they tipped the amount they did and would convince them that she deserved more. They also charge a service fee if you pay with card instead of cash.
Came for dessert, had dinner and dessert and wine. Mr Broadway has a wonderful selection of different foods - Chinese, Sushi, American, Deli and Jewish. The atmosphere is warm and the service is kind and helpful and quick. When I came, the place was full and bustling but the service was fast. The food was delicious and dessert was warm. Definitely recommend Mr Broadway.
I think that this restaurant is very overpriced and that the food isnt very good. Because I am not a strictly kosher eater I have exposure to a larger variety of food and thus compare what Mr. Broadway has to offer to non-kosher places. I ordered the kale salad and found it to be incredibly disappointing and ended up sending it back. Just because something is kosher doesnt mean it has to taste bad and Mr. Broadway doesnt make much of an effort to elevate kosher food, but I guess they dont have to worry about that because its always jam-packed.
Something for everyone in the fam (prepare yourself though they took that chicken sandwich we all love off the menu--too sad) Great wine, fun atmosphere, speedy service, will seat until 10:30 on a weeknight. And the famous pickles and slaw, which I think are so good because they are kept at the perfect temp. Never had a bad server and take out or delivery options work well.
This restaurant always displays the perfect balance between quality and price. The portions are very tasty and quite large. While the prices, especially for a kosher establishment in Manhattan, are quite affordable. Everytime we go the place is jam packed which tells you that other people are enjoying it too! This is a great option in the heart of NYC!
Many people in our office order delivery for lunch time. I was not aware they existed a couple of blocks from our office until I started ordering as well. The food comes SUPER fast and is reasonably to a tad expensive priced. I love their soups and their menu variety is huge.We went last week with a couple of friends to grab drinks at their bar for happy hour and since it was my first time there I was really impressed. You dont see the restaurant from the outside but when you walk in, it opens up and it is really beautiful and modern looking. The bar is huge and they have TVs if you feel like watching a game or something. We ordered some drinks and some apps from their happy hour specials and they were great. They were in the process of getting ready for dinner rush so they were dimming the lights, putting candles out and stuff. I would definitely come back here. We really liked the bartender also, shes cool :)
Ive been here countless times and every single time I leave happy. The place is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere, the service is impeccable even during lunch rush hour, and the food is always plentiful and absolutely delicious. They clearly know what theyre doing. Everyone is well trained, and I so appreciate that. Keep up the good work!
Not crazy about the sandwiches up front but if you go to the back they have a sit down area and the food is good. Variety of meat dishes and some sushi. The service isnt terribly great. Also, last time I went, I met my friend at 11, which is when they said they opened. They did let us in then but did we had to wait a half an hour until we could be served, which was frustrating.
I was recently at Mr. Broadway and really enjoyed the service and food. I ordered the corned beef pull rolls and loved them so much so amazed that I never had them before. I then had the crunchy beef which was flavorful and tasty. I was very surprised of how attentive the service especially since it was so busy. I will definitely be back at Mr Broadway to try some of their other items.
Quality of food has gone down...but my biggest problem, and the reason I will not be returning is the credit card fee! There is no warning prior to entering or being seated, that there is a fee when paying with credit. When we received the bill (of over $200), we were told there was an additional fee ($6) to pay with a credit card! Would never have dined here if we knew this. When I asked to speak to a manager, the waitress informed us there were no managers on the premises....asked to speak to anyone in charge....again, no one around. how can you have a restaurant run with no manager or owner, or anyone to speak to about issues?!?! This post only got a star because our waitress was the best and sympathetic! Thanks selina!
Horrible:Re-heated french fries with the sandwich my wife ordered.I got luke-warm chicken w/ cashew.Took the waiter 25 minutes to get us our check.PricesNoisy to the point I wished I never stepped inJust cause I keep kosher doesnt mean I have to pay 53$ for two plates of bland food.Dont go.
The staff were very rude and arrogant with the food delivery people. I went to buy the restaurant and just to see me with my food delivery backpack they told me to wait outside in a very arrogant way .. when I just wanted to buy some food. I do not recommend them this place
Stopped by with my wife and my mother-in-law to order dinner at approximately 10:15 PM sorry to say the burgers that I ordered were disgusting we also ordered a salad for my mother-in-law And quested to have Salman added. Guess what we never got the salmon. The waiter was from Bangladesh he was very nice but it seems like the kitchen staff including the chef were in a rush to go home and didn’t care much about the quality of what they were sending out.
This place was quite full when I was there on a Sunday afternoon. The brisket sandwich was delicious and reasonably priced, however, the ordering experience was a bit confusing for me as I came in just for a quick bite. It seemed like the people who where there for a full serviced meal had a better time and maybe I’ll upgrade the rating when next time I try that...
The food & service are pretty great. Youre going to enjoy everything. Delicious plates & you get tasty pickels & cabbage salad, with a touch of mayo, very nice.Prices - however, are a bit high, but not too high in refference to other delicious dellis in Manhattan. One of us ordered the pulled brisket and it came a bit salty, & the fries were oily. You might want to point it out to the waiter to make sure this wont be a problem.Bottom line: great place.
The food was bad and was cold. Everyones food at my table was cold. The service was some of the worst service I have experienced in my life. To order cetian types of food you have to sit in certain types of places and it is crazy. Also all the food here is crazily over priced. The food is not fresh. The restaurant also charged a extra gratuity bill which is supposed to be charged only for 6 people but the charged it for my party of four. The bathrooms are bad and the overall atmosphere was just not welcoming. I do not recommend Mr.broadway.
Not truthful with us and then rude when we arrived. We called ahead before walking 15 blocks with my kids and were told they closed at 10:30 p.m. tonight. We got there at 10 and they said they were closed and didnt know who we talked to. No manager on duty. Others came in behind us with same story. Very frustrating and no one cared.UPDATE: I reached out to the owner/manager after this incident and a day later got a lengthy email apologizing and asking me to try the restaurant again at a significant discount. This was a terrific response and while the first experience was very frustrating, this was real customer service at work and a very appropriate and appreciated response. We ate there the next night and had an excellent meal.
So bad experience. Second time here, first time was a bit better with insane wait time. This time around food came really fast so no complaint there, but everything else was lack luster. We came, we sat, and there was already water, touched pickles. We asked for it to be replaced. Took a long time, we even got our appetizer before the new plates and forks (not knifes). To give them credit, tacos were good, but thats when the good stops.Ordered lomein and rice with shawarma, not bad but not good. Chicken and beef tasted rubbery. We didnt get water refills. No refills, no knife, but hey thats life.If you do decide to come, just stick with the burgers and fries.
Great decor and terrific food. I had a perfectly cooked piece of salmon there, and I love their avocado sushi rolls. Service is warm and friendly and the portions are quite generous. I also love that they serve Laughing Man coffee! The place is perfect for meeting up with friends and family. Ive sat at the bar and at tables and enjoyed both. I have also brought clients there for business lunches which worked out perfectly. The menu offers a great deal of variety so it works for everyone - even a vegetarian like me.
I came here for Dinner last Thursday night. It was me and three of my girlfriends. The place looks great, was busy. The atmosphere was really cool, I loved the music and the décor. I have been here a few years ago with my parents and the place has changed so much!We were seated at the back corner and we had a really nice waitress who greeted us warmly and offered us some of their specials of the day. I had the black bean soup which was amazing. My friends had the Crunchy Beet salad which is thought was huge and really tasty. We also shared a prime rib sandwich that came with this really yummy pesto and roasted tomatoes. All in all I had fun, we were there for over 2 hours and ordered a bunch of drinks as well. Service was very attentive and I would definitely go back there again!
The first impression is good. Service seems nice and you sit on a good table, ready to have a good lunch. Read the menu and you think.... ok.... its more expensive than the average, i would say way more expensive than restaurants around. But its fine as long as the food and service matches the prize you are paying for.Unfortunately it doesnt. Not even close. Normal food, below the quality of the restaurants in the area at a cost 2-3 times higher. And Ive been there 4-5 times already, all of them in meetings with jewish clients. Im sorry but we deserve better. In few words: NOT GOOD FOOD
The decor in the restaurant is a well done, somewhat fast casual restaurant. The service is solid and the food is pretty good. The biggest issues here are that the menu suffers from the schizophrenia that many other kosher places have. Chinese food, paninis, burgers, steaks....Mr. Broadway is just one of those eclectic places that has always done it all and never tightened up their offerings.Id give a better rating if the prices werent quite so high, but lunch here is over $20pp. I get that this is in midtown, but still, thats a bit steep considering what youre getting. If youre in the area, its a decent spot for a bite and theres something for everyone on the menu. Just dont expect Michelin stars.
Food is ok. The Mac and cheese is soggy so avoid it. I had better pastrami at other places, here it was full of fat. The chicken tenders and Chinese food was food. The bad score is for the bad service and dirty bathrooms. Waitresses are rude, slow and never smile; they impose 18% gratuity for very bad service.
Dont underestimate the noise - it is just not the place to talk, at all (unless you want to practice your shouting skills...). Food was fine and the service too. Air-condition wasnt working in our area and with the unbelievable noise it practically ruined our dinner.
Waited almost an hour for our food. Not acceptable, especially when the 2 tables on either side of us came after us and got their orders before us. One thing, their pulled brisket sandwich is beyond awesome. Heads up tho, if you wanna look all well mannered then this isnt for you. Not the ideal date food. I went with family so didnt care. The only good dessert is the the chocolate cake with cream.
Internet showed that the hours where open till 11PM. The kitchen was closed at 9:30PM. I asked why they claimed they where open till 11PM. The manager told me that the kitchen closed 90 minutes early because they where not busy that night. They couldnt guide us to a restaurant that was open. After practically begging I was directed to a pizza shop. I found la marais to be open till 11PM so we ran over there and enjoyed it very much.
DO NOT GO THERE I REPEAT ITS NOT ONLY A RIP OFF THEY WILL ALSO CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD EXTRA AND SAY ITS A MISTAKE IF ANY BOTHER TO CHECK THE REAL CC CHARGE ONLINE NOT THE RECIPT THEY GIVE.ITS NOT A MISTAKE THEY FAKE HYPOCRITES AND TERRIABLE SERVICEI WILL NOT ENTER NOR BUY FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN.I DO NOT RECOMMEND DO NOT BUY
Amazing burgers! We had the BBQ bacon avocado burger and the roast beef triple decker! Neither me or my girlfriend finish them! They where so delicious and BIG. One burger and the appetizers the serve are more than enough for 2 people. Great place and the staff was so nice.
I loved it here! The service was very good, the pricing was average for NYC, the food was delicious and fresh, very busy place, not the quietest place to do business work or for a date but its possible, also great place for a few to get kosher food.Recommend mostly for Jews that are looking for a place to eat or a sit down for lunch.
Not our first time here. Always expect it to be overpriced but today got hit with the check and 18% tip was added (for bad service) AND 3% credit card fee. Told manager that the waiter should info the customer prior to ordering. Her response, nothing I can do, the sign is in the front. Attached is a photo of the sign, clearly stating a 3% cash discount. NOT TRUE, paid full menu price for cash.
I was at Mr. Broadway recently and must admit I was pleasantly surprised that the food was really good and the atmosphere was a delight. The staff was very friendly and our server was well trained in pairing food with the wine menu. I must admit I was skeptical because of the reviews but the food is delicious here and the service is improving very much. I will definitely come back again with family and friends to show them the experience I enjoyed here.
I live nearby. The food is decent, but less appetizing and enjoyable then it was a few years back. Feels like the emphasis now is more on high volume and turnover than it was during better years gone by; the menu broader, but food less savory to this customer. At the end of the meal I was charged $5.50 for a mediocre cup of coffee - really - seemed the server could hardly keep a straight face, and cant blame her.
If you have the money to splurge, come here and expect to be charged for every little item. Chutzpah! This place has changed drastically from what it used to be. You must be elite to dine here with no care from the staff and a bill that will run you multiple meals at any comparable kosher restaurant. Please do try it out— walk in, order some food and then walk out when you realize the attitude, when a place makes this much money they have no reason to change their bad ways.
This place rocks!!! I came with my family here last week for a graduation celebration. The portion sizes were huge. The food was heavenly. And the service was phenomenal. Highly recommend it. Especially cause they serve coseslaw and yummy pickles at the start of the meal.
Wow. This is my second time here and my goodness - how far this place has fallen. Disclaimer: at the end of this review I will attach my review from my last visit which was 5 stars but since Google doesnt let you leave multiple reviews I have to revise my previous review to 2 stars...I am really not trying to disparage anyone, I am really just trying to give detailed and constructive criticism for feedback so you can improve your restaurant. Having had a wonderful experience last time, when we were in the Times Square area again we thought it was a no-brainer to come back here, but unfortunately we were greatly disappointed. When we got there it was not too busy because it was before the dinner rush so we were happy about that... I asked our waiter if he can please bring us a small sample of the liver pate to taste. When I received it I nearly gagged, and I told him to bring it back to the chef to taste because it was spoiled. He goes back to the kitchen and returns and insists that its fresh and this is how it tastes. I wish it was spoiled. At least then you know that they dont actually serve food that tastes like that and it was just a mistake and spoiled. It was literally gag worthy. Inedible. And Ive had plenty of liver throughout my lifetime... So we quickly pass on the liver and order our sandwiches. My wife orders an egg drop soup which arrived at best warm. It was tasty though. She ordered a burger and I ordered a short rib sandwich. Both sandwiches come with fries. I opted for sweet potato fries while she chose the regular fries. Her fries were clearly not freshly made and werent even hot. My fries however were fresh because we assume that less people order sweet potato fries so they dont have a whole bucket of them lying around ready made. My wifes burger arrived and it was not hot at all. Definitely not juicy. It tasted reheated and not made fresh in the slightest. My sandwich wasnt either hot and 2 bites in, I felt like I was chewing on something rancid. Turns out I was. The fried onions were so old and gross. They were bendable and I couldnt even bite them. And they added such a horrible taste to the whole sandwich. It felt like I stuck a slab of plastic in between my meat. I tried removing them but it just messed up the whole sandwich. The whole experience felt like expensive cafeteria food. Maybe its just hit or miss for certain dishes... I dont know. Perhaps if we would have come a little later when it was busier there would be fresh food because there would be much more volume going in and out of the kitchen. Regardless, it doesnt matter how busy you are, you cannot lower your standards just because you dont want to throw out old food. Dont take your popularity for granted, because you will lose customers really quickly that way. We truly did not leave happy. Last time we spent about $150 wholeheartedly. This time we couldnt even justify spending $80 bucks. To be honest, we probably will be back here sometime in the future to give it another shot because we really had a great experience last time and maybe it was just a bad day but you really gotta keep things in check.Below is my review from my last visit:Great quality food for affordable prices. A great option if you want a tasty dinner with a huge variety including sushi, in a nice place, without having to spend the usual big bucks you normally pay at a typical Manhattan steakhouse. Highly recommend.
Wonderful food and excellent service in a location conveniently close to the Theater District and to Madison Square Garden, or ideal for a standalone visit. The tightly packed tables can make it a bit noisy so adjust accordingly if youre planning on quiet conversations.
The decor in this restaurant is really fantastic. The ambience is done right. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for its food. Mr. Broadway, kind sir, please improve the quality of your food as it should be on par with the interior of your restaurant at the very least.
Great restaurant for lunch and dinner! Love the sports bar and the happy hour Specials starting at 4 PM.Clean, updated, fresh and delicious.Great service. Ive been a regular customer for years and years!New trendy menu in addition to yummy Jewish deli, sushi bar too!Location cant be beat. Highly recommend this place 😊
Their food was cold and not fresh and it took a long time to come out.the French fries I ordered came at the end of my meal after having to reminding the waitress about my fries 3 times, and when the fries came out they were burnt and cold. The shawarma and the rice was old and the waitress charged my table an extra 20 dollars for no reason and wrote on the bill that my table of 4 was a table of 6. The service was not good. I absolutely do not recommend mr. broadway.
Our son graduated tonight from Touro College and we celebrated at Mr. Broadway and we could not have been happier. The food was brought out quickly and was fresh and well prepared. The ambiance is wonderful. One guest says his father used to come here decades ago and we are continuing the tradition.
Horrible service. Server was impolite and deliberately ignored us. We waited 15min for server to take our order. Our sandwich arrived 30min later - absolutely cold. Bread was not the one we ordered and it was soggy. Gravy was cold and congealed. People who came later than us were served before us. Dont waste your time or money at this place.
Terrible service.I ordered a chicken soup and it only came as noodle soup without any chicken and they charge you 7.25 for water and noodles. Also the service is not great they give you 2 water glasses but never refuel it. Over priced and the food is not justifying it. No seasoning and overall experience is teriable.
Ive been coming here for 3 years and this place never fails. Every time Im here I have the best waitress. These people really do understand the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had an awesome black bean soup which the owner brought to me personally. Great place!! Will definitely come back!!
This is a classic deli, except its more than that. They seem to have engulfed a Mediterranean and a Chinese restaurant as well. Their Chinese food isnt bad, but I rarely stray off the classic deli menu, because its what they do best. I usually get one of the massive deli sandwiches - their corned beef and pastrami is excellent. Their pastrami burger is also amazing. Stick with what they do best, dont be distracted.
Nice kosher joint that is not a cafeteria. Finer dining in a nice environment. Cuisine varies from middle eastern, to chinese, to sushi. My husband had the schwarma and he said it was delicious. I had sashimi and it was perfect. They also serve alcohol which is a plus for what I enjoy. We also had the falafel which was cooked to perfection and the hummus which had a nice mild flavor. Highly recommend if you are looking for a middle of the road kosher establishment or just good food in general. Restaurant is very clean and wait staff is attentive, but can be busy at times.
Very eclectic Kosher restaurant. They serve traditional delicatessen (corned beef, pastrami, etc.) , Chinese, Israeli (falafel, salads, grilled meats) and Sushi. All Kosher! I had sashimi, which was fresh and tasty. Prices are high compared to their trayfe counterparts, but not outrageous for a midtown Manhattan Kosher restaurant. Service was reasonably prompt and cheerful.
They have recently changed their menu to make it more upscale (and expensive), however the acoustics in the dining room are still quite loud and it is a large room so it is difficult to hear your partner while you are eating. Still the food is better than average and it is an extensive menu. One of the longest lasting kosher spots in Midtown Manhattan, which shows they are doing something right.
I came here with my co-worker last night. All I can say is that this place was absolutely amazing: great atmosphere, best food and best service I ever had. our waitress tried to explain the menu and gave us lot help. I ordered grilled lamb sliders. OMG, the cherry sauce was so fresh like real cherry, and mixed with lamb. I love it soooo much. My friend ordered kale caesar salad with salmon. I was pretty full with my plate so I didnt try hers, but the salmon looks really good. They also have sushi and some other Chinese food. I am definitely coming back here again~!~!~!
The best kosher restaurant in new york!! every time that we order the food arrive on time and taste perfect!we placed a big order for a hanukkah party and just as we expected everything arrived great. no issues with the order, the owner called and made sure that everything is ok. A+++++highly recommended, you will not regret
Very unhappy, my husband order a sandwich with the mustard and mayonnaise inside...The young lady at the counter was very nice and accommodating even made on the order to put mayonnaise and mustard in sandwich...But no avail, we get home...nothing in the sandwich .....spoke with a lot a people in reference to to this story and it turns out a lot of people refuse to even eat by Mr. Broadway for the exact reason above...apparently it seems to happen a lot....a lack of taking care of the customers request and just throwing the food at us like we are dogs....
Food was delicious and fresh, service was relatively quick, I had an ok soup and a terrific pastrami on rye sandwich with the traditional half brined and vinegar pickles and slaw which was delicious.Very pricey, but Kosher establishments usually are because of the overhead required.Would definitely visit again if opportunity arrises.

2021-11-15The food was AMAZING. It’s my second time coming in during my stay in NYC. I had the Bone In Rib-eye cooked medium well. Cooked perfectly. The onion rings I got with it were crunchy and full of flavor. Next to it I had red wine that the waitress recommended and went really well with my meal. It wasn’t cheap but it was totally WORTH IT.Me and my friend shared the “cheese cake” as dessert it was delicious and creamy with chocolate and lotus. YUM. bearly can tell it’s ParveThank you so much. Definitely recommend this place.

2021-11-22Good burger. Loud ambience. We were seemingly the only non Jewish people in the entire place, so guess its a place well liked by their people. Obviously everything is kosher. Personally I didnt dig the ambience much, but thats down to personal preference I suppose. For what its worth the food we had was good.

2022-06-10I went in and the place looks very nice. However, we Ordered boneless wings and got 4 pieces of thin dry Schnitzel instead. I thought this must have been a mistake. But no! The waitress said this is what their wings are. So... not wings at all.

2022-07-03Just turned up, on the off-chance - OK, wasnt a busy time - but we were served politely and friendly at the counter staff and immediately taken to an available table. Best thing, they had gluten-free options, but warned us about any cross-contamination problems. Kebab and chips were good, served in a gf taco wrap, with a side salad. It was so filling, we didnt have room for anything else. Lots of other choices on the menu but would need to review those on our next visit. Pleasant experience.

2022-07-29Went for a work event. Spacious, clean atmosphere. Waitress was very busy, so when needing a refill on drinks, it was a bit slow. Had to go to the bar 2nd time around which I think offended the waitress, but I waited 20 minutes 🤷🏾♀️. Had the burger, buffalo tenders (not sure what they were actually called but they had buffalo and BBQ flavored what I believe was pressed chicken cutlet?- I didnt order it for the table, but enjoyed it very much), a kale salad, and other items. All the food tastes fresh to me. Music was a bit loud (I accounted for the loud atmosphere in general) so it was hard to hear everyone at the table. If I were in the area, Id stop in again, but Id opt to sit at the bar for a quick bite/drink. Not a date night place for me.
