This is the only pawn shop in the Albany/Colonie area that has been around for years. There is a reason for that. The owner is always there. Always congenial and KNOWS what is in his store. It will be a sad day if he ever sells this business. I go there sometimes just to browse and never feel “guilty” or looked down if I don’t buy.I recommend checking it out if you are a video game enthusiast! Better selection than most video game stores...and better prices. Also jewelry, laptops, and audio visual. Thanks for the good work guys!! A pawn shop to be proud of?? Who knew!!!
Just went in for a Nintendo DS charger and was given a gameboy charger. These people know little to no video games and should not be selling people the wrong things. I had to drive an hour to get home to realize this was not the right charger. I highly recommend never buying from this store.
Ive only ever shopped here for used DVDs and Blu-ray so I cant really comment on their video games and electronics. But I can say that the store is well organized, movies are in alphabetical order, the store is clean, and the employees are courteous and friendly. Ive never had a problem with a used movie I have purchased here.
Dont go here. I went looking for video games and picked a few that I liked. when I got to the register, the person adjusted the prices to reflect current value (which was coincidentally higher than they were priced). I told them I wasnt interested.Go to Vortex or Past Time Legends if you want good deals on video games. Stay away from these clowns.
Good prices on used electronics. Video game selection is decent, but of what I looked at, priced on the high end. Of the two employees I dealt with, one didnt seem to know much about games but was very friendly. The other became curt after a couple questions, and his responses were fairly condescending. Very clean store presentation, easy to find location. Not great, not bad. I doubt Ill be making a second trip any time soon, but its worth a look if youre either hunting for anything too old for Gamestop to carry or would rather support local business.
After going to literally every other place to buy a laptop in town I gave this place a try on a whim. Ive never been there before, but will go back because of their huge game selection!! I was able to pick up an HP at a fraction of the price the big box stores would have charged. The guy working (possibly the owner) was super nice and helpful. I just wanted a good laptop for a better price. They gave me that. Thanks again!!!
Have purchased numerous things from TVs to Phones over time and would continue to return. The prices are reasonable, The conditions of the items are excellent and the store is always clean. The employees and owner are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, Its always customer service with a smile.
Decent selection of older games, but nothings cheap. And forget about trade ins or selling because they wont offer you much. The owner even said this is what GameStop would offer you... um ok, GameStop is the worst when it comes to trade ins, so thanks for the comparison.I really want to like this place but I just cant. Giving 2 stars because its a local business, even though the experience itself has been 1 star. Proceed with caution.
Ive been shoping here for ever and the owner is like family. He treats everyone with respect and makes sure they leave happy. He also has the best princes around. Way better then GameStop!!! If you shop here you will be happy you did and i bet you will be going back time and time again. He also has the best selection of old videogames from the 80s and 90s. Its freaking awesome!!!
A large and diverse selection of games for many systems and reasonable prices. There are times when the owner is smoking cigarettes and that makes the shopping experience unpleasant. Unfortunately the smoke also tends to infuse itself into the paper components like boxes, manuals and cover art. That said, they are nice people and the selection is welcome.
Great video game store better than game stop bought me back to my childhood with the regular Nintendo super Nintendo Sega Genesis Sega CD 32x platform game cube the list goes on and on well worth my drive to go up to Albany central ave and to the cross gates mall Schenectady New York.
Gave the most money between other locations which was great but had very poor beside manners as you would. Both workers including the owner did and does not appreciate your business and act as if your intruding or bothering them. I sold them a brand new console untouched and they immediately put it out for sale doing nothing but simply placing the box and profit a quick $100 but acted as if I was taking there time up. If you can deal with rude people go for it.
Rude staff. Condescendingly refused to price match Amazon prices. Tried to lecture me on why they couldnt sell a PS4 slim at the current market value. ($299.99)Last time I went, I overheard the staff criticizing me because I was spending too much time browsing. They sold me a used PS4 game at full NEW retail price; didnt notice until I got home and checked the receipt that looks like it was printed from an 80s calculator printer with NO information... Never again.
Bye bye gamestop, a.k.a. lamestop. These guys are Absolutely a pleasure to do business with. Great prices, personality, inventory, customer service. I left game stop as a customer after these guys showed me what true customer service was. They have an amazing inventory, the guys are great, and the location is good.Leave game stop and mention C!utch F!uid for %10 percent off a purchase of 100 dollars or more.
I bought a used iPhone 5C here, brought in a new Straight Talk Sim card, & the kid working there set up the whole thing for me for free to save me the hassle. Also bought a used laptop at a great price & its still running like new 1 year later. I highly recommend to check out this place for anyone buying new electronics. U might find something at a great discount thats in almost new condition.
Best place around to shop if you looking for gread Dealz on Cell Phones, Electronics, TVs and all kinds of games and gaming systems. They sell New and pre-owned items and they even buy tbem from you too. Ive have shop at this store in the past and always have a great buying experience while saving money. The sales people are nice and they wont pressure you to buy anything. The owner is always there to greet you with a smile and answer any questions you may have.
They have everything you can Possibly think of the Workers take their Job very seriously & theyre very fun, Great & easy to Interact with! the Workers are good at Sympathizing with the Customers & $5 Dollors off Pre-ordered Games its just Phenominal Ill have to ditch Gamestop, to start coming here.every Item they have from Old to New to Refurbished everythings in Minty fresh Condition.
The whole family love Mr. Dealz. We have been visiting him for years. The owner is very friendly, when he has time, he asks about family members who did come in. Always happy to help with advice on purchases, even if the info doesnt support a profit for him.We will continue to shop there.
My man hooked me up with a hard to find power cable took it right out of a box and sold it to me separate I highly recommend buying video games and other gaming items here no lie he saved the day only guy in capital reagon who had what I needed and went out of his way to call me back and say he will take the part I needed out of a new box. Thanks man !!
The guys there were super helpful even with me asking about several things and in my honest opinion got me a heck of a deal on a limited edition based on what they normally go for. Not up in this area much, but do recommend them and will be making a stop here again next time Im in the area.
Best place around for video games and general electronics, especially if you want something pre-owned . These guys know their stuff, and if you dont think their price is fair or what your paid to trade something is high enough - then you are just out of touch with the realities of the economics.

2022-01-17Shadiest local game store.Asked to buy a game in the case marked $20. The sticker was on the back of the cartridge visible from under the glass shelf. The employee brought it up to the counter while the owner motioned over to him to look at his computer (I imagine looking it up online to tell him how to price it). The employee then proceeded to “clean” the cartridge, then told me it was $49. I mentioned the $20 sticker and he just said “there’s no sticker on here” (since he had wiped it off right in front of me)I get that a store like this has a lot of inventory, and the market price on games can fluctuate faster than they might be able to keep up with. A simple sign explaining their policy, or just a “please ask for pricing on games behind glass”. Or just be upfront and tell me it was mislabeled instead of using sleight of hand and straight up disrespecting me by lying to my face. I ended up ordering the same game online for $25. It wasn’t worth what they were asking. I have visited this store before and know they’ve been sitting on much of the same inventory for years, including the game I wanted today. No idea how they’ve stayed in business so long.

2022-05-24I recommend any other retro game store. I’ve bought multiple games here that didn’t end up working. Customer service is bad here. I called asking if they had a copy of Crono trigger for the snes which is an expensive game so you think they would be happy I’m asking but no he instantly hung up the phone without an answer very rude. This is the closest game store to my house and I always go out of my way to go to any other store and avoid this one at all cost. They don’t care about video game collectors all they care about is making a quick buck. I’ll never go here again

2022-06-19Took some systems to sell to them and was offered a quarter of what I was offered at other retro game stores. Prices are much higher than other game stores for the exact same games. Go to Vortex games instead .

2021-07-01I went in and looked around and was surprised with how many games they had! I found one I was I was interested in and was told he wanted 200$-250$.After thinking about it, I told him I could do that range and asked for his best price. To my shock he replied “300$”.I’ve never experienced such shock and I have visited hundreds of stores across the country.I thoroughly don’t recommend visiting.

2021-04-27Great selection of movies, old game boy and Nintendo games, systems, etc. Its a really great place to have in the area. I saw some old Nintendo games I had since forgotten about and was thinking next time Im in the area Ill go back and buy them. But, the man was very rude to my friend and me. I was just looking at all the different titles available on dvd. My friend was browsing and scanning the some of the barcodes on the DVDs with his phone to see if they were worth buying to resell on eBay. Hes hardly a dealer, but anyway. The guy accosted my friend and told him we dont sell to pickers, and after a couple minutes basically screamed at both of us like we were there to rip him off and told us to leave. He said you think I dont know what youre doing?! I guess I was guilty by association but I wasnt doing anything wrong, just browsing. No other customers were in there for the whole hour we were there. You would think he would be grateful to have somebody in the store. A customer is a customer. And dude, you sell dvds in bulk, if you know what hes doing then you do that too, and dont sell them 5 for 10.I have run a small business for 20 years. After a while you learn not to nitpick who is allowed to be a customer as long as theyre a paying customer.I loved the selection and great price for DVDs, 5 for $10. I wasnt planning on making a purchase today as this was my first time going there, and I was just looking, but now I likely wont go back.Minus 3 stars for attitude. Sorry.
