Honest review: all vegetarian dishes tasted bland, the Malai kofta were hard and the dahi Puri was stale and the veg jalfrezi was watery. The tandoori roti was so thick and and you can tell everything was old or precooked since a while. not the one to complain about everything but everything was actually bad so idk what else to do.
The food was delicious! I ordered the lunch special that gave me Chicken Tikka Masala and Mulligatawny Soup for $14 (with papri and naan for free). The employees were extremely kind, constantly checking on us and asking if we enjoyed the food. They were also friendly and told us about his own daughter haha. The place is beautiful with many paintings of South Asian culture. The bathroom was extremely clean and so was where we were sitting. The aesthetics with the LED lights and plants were beautiful! I had a great time and I’ll definitely come back! :)
I got the daal saag here as a healthy option and really liked it. Was spiced for a lot of good flavor, didnt think that the medium heat option was too hot so consider getting it spicy for your own order.Unpretentious and good value on the menu as well. Deserves the high rating.
I have been going to this place for years, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend the Vegetable Samosas, Korma, Saag, and the Mughlai Shrimp Curry. But really it’s all delicious. Oh goodness, the naan too! Also, their lunch and dinner takeout specials are the best in the area. Finally, the owner is so friendly and hospitable. One of my favorite restaurants in New York, and definitely some of the best Indian food you’ll find in the city.
Everything we ordered was excellent, generous portions, very fairly priced and the service was attentive and gracious. We had the Samosa Chaat and Dahi Batata Poori to start - beautifully prepared and presented, on the spicy side but not overly so. For mains, Paneer Makhni, Shahi Mutter Paneer, Tandoori shrimp and Tandoori mixed grill - although everything was excellent, its worth nothing that the shrimp were cooked perfectly and really were jumbo shrimp rather than smaller ones and that the mixed grill was a very generous amount - could easily have been shared but instead we took the leftovers home. Well definitely be back.
This place is great! Having had some of the same dishes in various places around Delhi, this is easily one of the most authentic Indian restaurants that I’ve tried in the states. The location is convenient and just a few blocks away, in the heart of L.E.S., and takeout is always ready within 15-20 minutes even on a Friday or Saturday night. A+.
Looking to spice up your life? dine at at Mughlai Grill on Clinton Street.Mughlai Grill is a casual Indian restaurant doling out flavorful dishes on the Lower East Side. i get takeout and delivery from Mughlai. however you can dine in at Mughali as well...as it has medium-sized charming dining room perfect for casual relaxed lunches and dinners.recommendations:baghari jhingha--a must if you like spicy shrimp; both the gobhi palak and aloo gobhi are great cauliflower dishes options for vegans + vegetarians; and the chicken tikka is good option for those who want a flavorful dish that is not too spicy.the naan is freshly-made, puffy, crispy bread add-on that is so good.on every takeout and delivery order, Mughali included a complimentary order of papadum. nice touch.as the weather turns cooler, enjoy comfort eats via Mughlais south asian offerings.
Rich, spicy, deep red Vindaloo but lacking a complexity of flavors. 3.75-ish for the Vindaloo. Extra points for three, count ‘em 3, IPAs. Good Peshawari naan, uninspired rice. We ordered hot and they delivered a deep sweat for the King.Weird Indian House electro music. Wonderful service and attentive staff. Like General MacArthur, I shall return.
Soo happy to have found this spot. food is just amazing.we kept it vegetarian and got the vegetable tandoor, stuffed baby eggplant, and fried okra. blown away that vegetables can taste that good.the owner and service are wonderful. offered me a glass of effervescent pinot noir while I waited for my takeout order, which I will absolutely be coming back for.

2022-06-05We were actually walking our way for a different Indian restaurant and suddenly found this on the map which have good reviews so we thought to give a try. We went in and there were very few. We ordered the most routine items but they were very well presented and tasted. The hotel owner was very friendly and polite, he later explained usually the crowd will be less in the afternoons compared to evenings. All and all very good experience on our sudden discovery.

2022-02-22One of the best north Indian food I have had in a while. We started with some bhel puri which was good. Their tandoori chicken is very close to the original Delhi style tandoori chicken. Delicious! For main course, we decided to go with Rogan Josh and bread basket. And we ended the evening with gajjar halwa and ras malai. They were both a bit too sweet and that’s how Indian desserts are supposed to be but I prefer a little less sweet. Portion size was a little small for an Indian place. They also have beer and wine and allow BYOB.The place is fairly easy to get to by subway as well as car. Parking can be a challenge as is the case for any place in the city.Food 5/5Service 5/5Ambiance 4/5Portion size 4/5Value for money 5/5

2022-08-07Got chicken tikka masala takeout from here. It was decent. I got mild and there was absolutely no spice to it whatsoever and it was really tomatoey, like tomato soup. My boyfriend had his spicy and said it was good and flavorful. Healthy portions for a great price.

2022-07-30Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to. Stopped by for dinner Friday night around 6PM and it was empty. However by 7, the restaurant was getting packed. Would recommend coming a little earlier to beat the crowd.Started off with the samosa chaat appetizer and it was so good! It was so flavorful and I couldn’t stop grabbing another bite. I saved some to eat with my garlic naan in the end.For entrees, my friends and I did family style and we got the staple chicken tikka masala, palak paneer & the chicken biryani rice, and an order of the garlic naan. The chicken tikka masala consistency was perfect - the chicken wasn’t dry, but I will say I got medium spicy but there was little to no spice. It does taste slightly sweeter than other chicken tikka masala’s I’ve had but it was super delish nonetheless. The palak paneer is chef’s kiss!!! Had to get a veggie dish to balance out all the meat and it was so good too. Would definitely get these two staples over and over again. I kept dipping my naan in both cause I could not get enough of the flavors!! The chicken biryani was just okay - not my favorite considering all the other dishes I had. It was worth trying, but will definitely opt for another entree next time as we already had a bowl of plain basmati rice. The garlic naan, you can’t mess up haha. It was super fluffy. As a garlic lover, I wish there was more garlic loaded on.The staff was so attentive. They kept checking up on our table to see how everything was and if we needed anything else. They continuously filled our water cups without us needing to ask for refills like other places. The staff was super friendly and overall I had such an amazing experience my first time at Mughlai, I will definitely return!

2022-07-10Mughlai Grill is a worth the wait experience. A wonderful menu full of diverse and fusion dishes. The flavor profile of Mughlai dishes can be smoky, savory, subtly sweet, and creamy. The coconut naan is my personal favorite, pairs incredibly well with Kashmiri Chicken Korma. Palak Paneer was deliciously creamy, Chicken tandoori was smoky on the outside and off the bone baby tender juicy on the inside. The chef is clearly trying to make someones day.

2021-09-08Its pretty chill and low-key here with friendly service. But the food didnt impress. The chicken tikka masala and the mango lassi were good, but the achar gosht was overly salty, and the garlic naan was overly buttery without much garlic flavor. I also wished the naan was a bit fluffier; it was flat and too chewy.

2022-08-24So background I grew up in the UK, curry is one of the national dishes. Other than india or bangladesh harder to find a place with more curry restaurants. So I love curry, my favourite cuisine. This is the closest spot to where I live so I WANT it to be good. Over last 5 years I pop in to try it to see if its improved, it hasn’t. The staff are nice, its always quite busy, but the food isn’t that great. I get the Jalfrezi, its always different (which is fine) but today I got it and it was so red and hardly any peppers. Kinda runny. The peppers didnt seem that well cooked either. A lot of chicken but chicken was kinda bland. Asked for medium but just not a lot of flavour. Rice was fine (just pilau) hard to mess up. The garlic naan was dry-ish and just not a ton of flavour. Table next to me ordered something that looked more like a fajita than a curry, not sure if it was some sort of tandori chicken but again the vegetables looked under cooked. Feel like they just rush the process too much in the kitchen.
