We had dinner here today 12/21/21 and the atmosphere was great as were the drinks, but the food was mediocre at best. We had the pretzel appetizer with mustard and cheese dipping sauces. The cheese sauce was wonderful but the pretzel’s were meh. My husband got the steak special and it was barely warm. I got boneless chicken wings and they were so hard and dry, they were inedible. They offered to redo the order, but I couldn’t see how things could get any better so we passed on that. I never like to dog a local restaurant, but they have some work to do. We love Donnelly’s but unfortunately they are closed on Monday and Tuesdays. With a few tweaks and attention to detail, they could be a great restaurant. The location is great!
Had dinner there on Wednesday (2021.07.28) about 5:30pm.There were many people sitting outside on both floors. We opted to be inside as it was kind of hot for my mom (93 years old, she gets what she wants). Service was slow. Seems like they were under-staffed. Under-staffed seems to be a theme for restaurants as they struggle to get operations running with the waning pandemic. The food was slow coming out, but hot. The food was delivered by a different server which was ok by me. I like it when the people are looking out for each other by looking out for the guests. Guess it was the kitchen that was holding things up a bit.The food was good. I had a garden salad with Grilled Buffalo Chicken. Mom had the Beer Battered Chicken Fingers. There were a lot of those fingers so Mom took some home. The restaurant is noisy. The sound echoes from the hardwood floors and walls. It is probably ok for younger people with acute hearing- less good for us harder-of-hearing oldsters.
I’m shocked. We were seated at 5:20. It wasn’t very busy. The sever asked us to leave at 7:00 because the hostess needed the table. I’ve never been kicked out of a table before. I had left a 25% tip, food was delicious, was going to leave in a few minutes, was going to come back regularly. I worked as a server for years and this was never something we did, and is not standard practice.
Love that they have Guinness on tap. Not enough pubs bother to get it right. The Friday night fish & chips was most excellent - - a very generous portion, cooked to perfection, and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this place to all Irish pub fans. ps: The Bangers & Mash with Beans was also awesome. After just a few minutes I felt that I was back in Ireland.
Great restaurant/bar. One observation though, upon entering the establishment there were several tables empty and we were told it would be 40 minutes before we got a table because the kitchen was backed up. This we understand, but we will willing to spend money over the bar while we were waiting for food, but were told we couldnt sit at a high top table? Last time I was at a bar, alcohol paid the bills. We had a great time other than that.
They would not serve the couple in front of us because they were not vaccinated. Even though my group is we decided to go elsewhere. We felt like they were disrespectful and treated them as is they were garbage. We brought our business elsewhere in the village and had a great time. There are so many other bars in walking distance now. This is the first review I ever took the time to write.
Irish sausage and German potatoe salad was delicious! Always great service here, the same servers have been working here for a long time and are always fun and on top of their tables. Fun atmosphere, the owner is here often and makes sure everyone is having fun. Love this place!
This establishment just posted they will not be allowing unvaccinated individuals inside to eat or drink. Whats sad is that those unvaccinated individuals have been keeping them in business and supporting them for the last two years. Now all of a sudden they want to restrict them based on Hochuls order and not Science. Maybe the owner should visit Florida and other southern states who are thriving and had no lockdowns or mask mandates. Me and my family will not be going here and as far as Im concerned they just destroyed their business by encouraging modern day discrimination. I will support bars and restaurants who support medical freedom. ✌️
I just went with a party of 6 on a Monday at 6 pm, and there were no complaints from anyone. Everyones meal was fantastic. Beer was great. I had the Black and Tan with corned beef and cabbage. That was excellent! Best I had in a long time! Mashed potatoes are so good! Waitress was very nice. Been here many times before, and have always been happy with service and food.
Very calm atmosphere. Indoor dining as well as outdoor, downstairs and upstairs. God menu is limited, but amazing. Very clean, practicing social distancing and masks, very courteous waitress, (Im old school) LoL , nicely seeing the Erie canal. Seat upstairs, sundeck. Great drinks too!!
On a positive note, always a festive atmosphere. Good bar & menu choices. Nice location. However, have been a couple times when they either have been out of something on menu or couldnt make a menu selection due to ovens being broken. Bar tender took our orders first, but never cleared off or wiped down bar from previous customers. We had to push everything aside. Once seated at table ,waitress forgot to bring the my husband had ordered. Then my husband had just finished his meal, but I was about 3/4 way through mine, actually raising my fork to my mouth , as the waitress asked if we wanted desert. Need to better train the employees.
Very disappointed in the food. My veal meatloaf was pretty good, but I ordered onions rings and both the original order and the replacement order were over cooked. The fries were warm. And the Buffalo Mac & cheese was not much better than Kraft. We used to enjoy it, but this visit and our previous one, not so much. I was also disappointed with the service. I would have liked to have finished the appetizer before our dinners were served.
Had lunch hear last week. I had the buffalo chicken salad and the wife had a veggie burger. The salad was very good, plenty of greens and chicken. I did enjoy the buffalo sauce, not too hot for a salad. My wife really enjoyed her veggie burger and the fries were awesome. Big ole steak fries with great flavor. I would go back just for the fries. The service was very friendly and on top of things. The place looked clean and inviting. We ate inside but the outside area looked very nice, just a bit too sunny for us though.
One of our favorite places to dine. The atmosphere is comfortable clean. The proprietor Damien is welcoming. He will stop by your table and inquire how you’re doing and how the food tastes often times asking for suggestions. The staff is professional, courteous and above all friendly!During this time of COVID-19 the menu has been simplified offering a spattering of their most popular dishes. Social distancing is practiced between the tables and the staff is wearing masks.
I stopped here for lunch with my husband and toddler. The food was great and so was the atmosphere, but the service was not. The waitress did not acknowledge my son as a person... when seating us, she asked if it was just the 2 of us (nope, all 3) and when she asked if we wanted water or any other drinks, we said yes just water, but after she brought ours, we had to ask for water for my son too. She didn’t even acknowledge him when he clearly waved and spoke to her. Yes, he’s little, but he’s still a person who deserves respect and acknowledgement.
Great food and comfortable surroundings, authentic Irish food can be found here, as well as good beverages. The owners and staff are extremely friendly, helpful, and inviting. A truly wonderful experience, plus a stone throw from the canal for a nice post dinner walk. Ive been frequenting this pub for about 10 yrs now, and havent been disappointed.
100% Recommended. Had steak and mushroom boxtie that absolutely hit the spot. Always consistently good quality, service, and reasonable value here. If youre looking for either a reliable bar food place, or something that actually has authentic Irish offerings, look no further.
Very disappointed in food. Supposed Shepherds pie was not very good--kind of burnt and tasted like BBQ sauce? Bread was excellent. Good beers and fun summer location--but food actually gave me a stomach ache. I really want to like this restaurant but last three visits will probably keep me from returning
Later in the evening on a weeknight just before Christmas, I and a friend met there for a quiet conversation. The dining and bar area were warmly decorated, and although our late meet coincided with the kitchen closing (9:30 - 10 pm), we got hot chocolate and she a dessert. We enjoyed our time. There was a fireplace with a decorated mantle in the main dining area.I have been there at busier times and the food is good.
I dont write bad reviews lightly but Ive given this place soooo many many chances over the years....Idk what to say, my over charged drink was awful. The options were limited, the staff was actually nice for once, but the drinks still tasted awful and the atmosphere was loud (obnoxiously so) and the band could NOT sing
Whats it like for dinner at Mulconrys?Atmosphere - pretty easy peasy vibe. As a place for just some booze and music, its right there up my alley. However, for ambiance they should fix their gas fireplace.Food - well its just ok. Sausage rolls is just 1 large sausage wrap in pastry dough cut in half (not really 2 rolls). For any who have gone to the UK ... Ummmmm definitely not a sausage roll.Shepherds pie was so-so slightly on the dry side if that was possible.Definitely not a place to just go looking for a good meal.Drinking on the other hand - definitely!
The food was good, but the service was poor. My friend had called to make a reservation two days prior for a group of 14 of us to celebrate her birthday. We called to inform them we would be about 15 minutes late, and they seemed unhappy. We rushed to get there to avoid them giving away our table. When we arrived, there was a kickballl team at the bar and one other table of two. There was no need for us to have rushed; they werent busy at all. After taking our food order, the waitress did not come back and we gave up waiting for her to return and had to go to the bar to get drinks. At the bar, we found her sitting with the kickball team. She delivered our food and didnt return again until she brought our checks. I understand we were a big group, but at that point we were literally her only table. There was an automatic 20% gratuity added to each bill, which was completely unearned.
First time going to this restaurant and 100% disappointed in the food, the portions are way too small for the prices they charge and I’ve never had such a bland sandwich (got the turkey and Brie) and a small handful of overly salted fries. Had to send it back was not paying $12 for that. my $3 breakfast sandwich had more flavor.
Had family dinner tonight and the service was fast, the food was good, and they were super helpful and accommodating! Im never disappointed when I go here, and I appreciate that they often go above and beyond. Marcy was just so wonderful and made sure we had a great experience. We will certainly be back!
Enjoyed a delicious lunch here today with 2 friends. They have Smithwicks on tap. Very nice side salad...fresh, crisp...and a piece of brown bread. My main course was steak and mushroom pie in a Guinness sauce with a flaky pastry top. I would go back again. Our server, Alicia, was friendly and efficient. I came home with a loaf of brown bread.
Awesome Irish Pub. It has a Ma and Pa feel with a hands on owner in Damien whos always there to greet you and say hello. The food is excellent. I take my staff their on occasion after meetings. You can have authentic Irish cuisine or classic American pub food. Best Wings in the city!! Mulconrys is a perfect fit nestled in the Fairport village. They also feature great live music on weekends. In the nice weather we especially love the out door patios, both upstairs an down stairs. Great place for food drinks and to have a nice night out with family and friends!
So last night I went to Mulconry. this bar is my uncles favorite bar, I brought a friend with me. We are 24 and 23 yrs old. I was so happy to see my uncle it has been awhile. The gentleman bar tenders made the rudest comment. He goes to my uncle what are you doing over there running a daycare. This was so uncalled for, we are your customers and we may look young and be with an older gentleman, but that gives the bar tenders no right to disrespect us. We left right away and I will not be returning with that kind of disrespect!
Mulconrys is a homerun!! I have been a fan since they opened. The bar is what I would consider the Cheers of Rochester. The menu is wonderful - I strongly recommend the Guinness Gold Wings (delicious), French Onion Soup, Crab Cakes & Shepherds Pie! Its a kitchen that is very consistent with their preparation of the food. The place is lively, fun, great music w/ a great beer selection & fantastic cocktails. They have a great staff w/ excellent personalities that takes the time to get to know you . You feel welcomed at Mulconrys! My wife & I were surprised by our children w/ a 25th Anniversay party this past summer. What a party they threw!! The staff went out of their way to make the evening special for all our guests that were 1st timers to the Pub. Its still the talk among all our friends!!Thanks to all the staff @ Mulconrys!!!
Not really a three star review. It was 4pm on St Pattys day, and I couldnt get in the door. Dont you people have jobs??? Anyway, was really looking forward to trying the bangers n mash and Irish sausage rolls. Didnt get to. kinda disappointed. Maybe next time. NOT on St Pattys Day. Hopefully a 3 star note wont actually affect the ratings.
Mulconrys Irish Pub is many places in one. I have been going there since its founding and have really grown to appreciate its unique qualities. Unlike your average (American) Irish pub, it doesnt simply serve Guinness. It is a top notch restaurant serving Irish food as well as American dishes. Their full time professional chef also creates daily specials. The traditional pub fair is prepared with the same care as anything else on the menu. The restaurant is isolated from the bar in its own room allowing for a purely dining experience. Their prices are very reasonable and they are happy to tailor your order to taste. The bar evolves throughout the day. On quieter nights it is a place to have great conversation, meet people, throw darts, and simply relax after work. The staff is very friendly and in short time they greet you with a familiar hello and know your preferences. They make an effort to get to know personally. When its busy, they are very efficient without being cold. Friday and Saturday nights Mulconrys often hosts a band with no cover charge. ...one isnt treated like a twenty year old here.Another observation, pardon the cliche, is Mulconrys is a place for all ages. I have been told that pubs on the other side of the pond are a place for families and communities to gather. Youll have your regulars, your moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas and their kids, etc. I have experienced this at Mulconrys. All said and done, I find this place consistently warm and fun. I see posts that seem to have a different motive than providing a review and they dont describe the place I know.
The first time my fathers credit card was used to purchase $200 worth of designer purses, we gave this place the benefit of the doubt. But 6 months later, we ate at this place again, and three days after that the bank called us because someone was trying to buy gas using his card number.Weve reported this to the police and after multiple attempts to contact the owner, we were ignored. The employees of this restaurant are card skimmers. Use nothing but cash when visiting this place.
Probably my favorite bar in Fairport, and I say bar because I dont really consider Fairport Brewing Co. to be a bar, but I like FBC the best for a place to grab a beer. As far as bars go though, Mulconrys is great - they have a nice seating area on one side and the bar with more seating on the other. Great selection of beers and Irish cuisine, and there is an upstairs with balcony seating and a pool table/darts. Has a low lit atmosphere, and neat wooden decor inside.
BE CAREFUL, THEY WILL HELP THEMSELVES TO AN EXTRA TIP WITHOUT YOU KNOWING!!! CHANGING TIP AMOUNTS = CREDIT CARD FRAUD.I was here with friends on a late night Saturday night; Im from out of town. I had a lot to drink celebrating with friends I hadnt seen in over a year. I ordered 3 rounds of many drinks; I wasnt 100% all there but I always shove receipts in my pocket from all my adventures. So once I took my weekly look at the online bank statement, what I was actually charged wasnt close to what the crumpled up receipts in my wallet showed. Lets just say they helped themselves to about an additional $20 to each of the 3 separate drink orders. Shady short bartender with blonde hair; stay away from her, will take advantage of fun loving, out of town, inebriated (but staying within walking distance) people. Go ahead and take the $$$, you must need it more than me. See you never again.
Mulconrys Irish Pub is a place where you see old friends and make new ones over a pint and fantastic food. Live music, darts/billiards leagues, and a party room upstairs make Mulconrys a great place to have fun and enjoy the company of others; but the real entertainment is when the owner, Damien Mulconry, shows up and starts his shenanigans; making everyone feel as if they are the most important person there.

2022-03-31Great Irish pub and restaurant near the canal. The service was great. Traditional Irish and pub options on the menu. The Fish Fry looked fantastic and was booming when we went, but was already sold out! The waitress was great and suggested other options which were delicious as well. Their standard Fish and chips were perfectly battered and fried, the French style egg washed pan fried fish was a great lower carb alternative. The onion rings were perfectly cooked and crispy! The Guinness pints were cold and delicious 😁

2022-07-05Super nice staff and the food was great. Outdoor seating was nice, the only issue we had was minor, one of the girls working was wearing vanilla perfume and since my wife is allergic it caused her to need to wait to eat until later, but again it was a minor issue. Would go again in a heartbeat.

2022-06-25A lovely place to sit outside and enjoy a summer evening! Excellent staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was diverse & food was outstanding. Live classic rock too! Will try brunch next.

2022-05-28Exactly what you expect from an American bar and grill with an Irish spin. Everything is fine, but not outstanding, revolutionary, or thrilling the culinary scene. Go here with a group of friends, sit on the upstairs patio and order too many(just the right amount) of drinks to have a relaxing low key summer meal.

2022-07-06Cute place, but long wait time for our food, and our waitress didnt seem to have it together, but she was pleasant. The food was good, but the BBQ sauce was weird. Super expensive (but anything out there is going to be)

2022-07-03Saturday night, 6:30pm dinner. No wait...restaurant not busy, about 1/2 full. Great menu, many choices, fair prices. Food quality: shepards pie excellent, beef on weck just average(dry roll, not kimmelweck as stated on menu), burger large portion/quality excellent, sweet potato fries average, sent back over cooked, burnt....shepards pie boxty average(potato pancake tasted like basic pancake(no flavor) would not order again! Waitress service, average. Long wait times for her checking back for another drink or informing us when food would be coming. Overall average rating, however, would try again!

2022-03-27Quality live local music. Good vibe thanks to the luck of the Irish and friendly people.
