We stopped for ribs, and they were delicious! However, the bread was so good along with the sweet potatoe fries. The whole meal was mouth watering. Thank you Murphys!
Best burgers hands down, the bartender seemed a bit tired but the people there were super friendly and the burger was fantastically put together especially since it was Togo. The sauces were on the side and everything was tucked into fancy little Togo cups. Id recommend to people visiting town.
My draft beer was stale, drank cans after that,wife & I got the sampler ,real good given them 4 stars for the ( garlic wings )...highly recommended !!!.. waitress was very prompt ..
The servers were super nice and friendly. We ordered the Murphy Burger. It was moist and juicy.This was our first dine in (June 13) in New York during after the restrictions were lifted during covid. No one was wearing masks. So, if youre not comfortable with that, you may sit outside.

Food was good but it took a really long time. Wait staff was nice but forgot about us for awhile. Second time there got Sheppards pie. it was really dry so I asked the waitress for gravy when I finally got her attention after awhile and then she charged me for it and I didnt even use it. Was really thick and fake tasting. Not going back.
Strongly recommend. We go here once a week and have always had a great meal and welcoming experience. The prices are awesome as well which is half the reason we keep coming back. We also love the employees - they are attentive and quick.Everything Ive ordered has been delicious - pulled pork sliders, Murphys pizza pie, chicken cordon bleu bites, wings, burgers, meatloaf, steak salad, open-faced turkey and a nicely poured Guinness, etc...
Love this place! Great food and friendly service. I recently had Joe from Murphys cater my wedding. The guests were all raving about the food. Thanks for making our special day better. Joe and Christine are the best.
The Prime Rib was huge and very good my husband said. They were very accommodating as the scallop dish came with linguini with Alfredo sauce but I wanted a baked potato instead and they allowed me to swap it! It was delicious, also came with asparagus and sun dried tomatoes yummy!
It was a complete disgusting disaster they serve food like that now its a shame after going there for 10 years to return back to the lake show up for some dinner and it was horrible the wait staff was excellent as per usual Meghan is a rockstar but for the chef to serve me what he serve the two of us. Shrimp that should have been on a cold Plate served on a hot plate that supposed to be cold disgusting! Corned beef that looks like tongue with the same texture! On top of it green looking substance is what it really was. The rye bread was disgusting! To top it off serving me a steak with a piece of that attached to it that look like an umbilical cord I sent it back with Megan to the shop questioning would you eat this? The chef did not have the courage to come out and apologize to us they just took every single off the bill and didnt care okay. I understand we did not pay for it it was still ridiculous. On top of that we had to ask for bread and when the bread came and it wasnt the great French bread it was something that I dont know where it was created. Disappointed disappointed
If you are a person of color, do not go here. The servers and patrons were very unfriendly as if we were intruding. They didn’t acknowledge my party of 8, until I made several attempts to get someone’s attention. When they finally got to me, they claimed they don’t have tables for that large of a party. I will be reporting this establishment. I am a new resident to the area and feel disrespected.
One of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had. My group of 9 came in at 6pm; the restaurant was almost completely empty (2 or 3 people at the bar and 1 or 2 tables max) so we got seated right away. The server took our order fairly quickly, but from the time of us ordering to when our 3 appetizers came out, we waited almost an hour. The server was apologetic and explained that one of the cooks had gone home sick so there was only one person in the kitchen, which was entirely understandable, although still it seemed odd that it would take that long considering the restaurant was almost empty. The appetizers themselves were disappointing; the chicken was rubbery and the quesadillas were barely filled. Another hour went by before any of our entrees began to come out, which was incredibly frustrating. One person waited another 10 minutes after that before finally just cancelling his food. The entrees seemed to be better, but shortly after they came out my friend discovered a hair on his burger. Most all of us lost our appetites at that point, and the server agreed to take it off the check. We all agreed that we needed to alert the manager to these issues, and two of us went to the bar to speak with the person we presumed to be the manager. He was not, and he informed us that there was in fact no manager on duty that day and that the person effectively in charge that evening was our server. We decided to let the issue drop as it was now after 8, and all of us had an hour drive home. The server was not the issue, and our tip reflected as much, but the management in this place leaves A LOT to be desired. Our visit was a waste of $130 and we will never go back.
Had a nice lunch at the restaurant. Good atmosphere..clean n tables were spread out. Food was good n drinks also.Service was good also.
Out if everything by 6pm creaser salad was dry and you could choke on it then to top it off the bring out 2 sizzling steaks smoke the place out instead of opening the door waitress turns the fans its enough for me not to visit here again
Its a cool atmosphere. Its been a while since I been there however the steak sandwich was missing flavor it was bland. I love food and it wasnt to good but the sweet potato fries were good and service was good.
Been a customer for years. Went for dinner on Fathers Day and was extremely disappointed in the food. Quality was poor at best. Would not recommend. Customers with loyalty cards were told the card is no longer accepted even would values still on the card.

Excellent food but service was a bit chaotic...if I owned that place I would organize and train the staff...then I would schedule accordingly
I used to patronize Murphys at least twice a month and found the food to be good as was the service.However, the last two times I was there, the service was good but after an hour waiting for the entree, I decided to leave. The waitstaff felt bad but were unable to do anything. I am now done with Murphys. If you cant get food to the patrons in under an hour, you need new kitchen personnel as well as better management. There are other places to have dinner in the area.
Service was not great when we finally got our food my husbands was totally wrong how can you mistake Grilled Maui Maui and come out with a coffee crusted steak so now I sit with my food while we wait 10-15min for his and yup he called it they rushed to get it done and it was raw.Then I get the bill and she didnt even change the bill for correct food we got even though it was only a $2.00 difference correct no big deal but its the principle will not be returning sorry to say
Lots of locals frequented this establishment (which is always a good sign). I ate here for supper during my Appalachian trail thru-hike. I had a side salad (good but a bit small), a special of stuffed clams (excellent), and the Murphy burger (decent but not extraordinary), along with several beers (nice selection). If I lived closer, I would go here again.
I am convinced Greenwood Lake is not a place for out of towners. You have to be a local. They cater only to locals. Which is kind of sad. The fact that people from the city actually have the money and know what good service and food is means that food comes out in less than 20 minutes. I have this feeling all these places are like that. The worst is the Helm.
What a diamond in the rough!! We went paddle boarding at Greenwood Lake (which was awesome btw) and wanted to have lunch afterwards. In just minutes we found Murphys Tavern the place is cozy, the service was great, and the menu was vast. We all got different items and everything was delicious with generous portions. There is also a Tap House attached. We will definitely be back!!
Awesome food, the mini burger and the pulled pork slider was delicious. The bartender upon arrival Greg was a perfect welcome. Great humor and very helpful.
It was awesome! Delicious food, fast and freindly service! The sliders were heavy for thier size, juicy and perfectly cooked. There is a lot love in that kitchen, of that, I am certain.
Solid Pub food. Great spot for a Burger and a Beer. Service was very professional and Courteous. Will definitely return when back in the area.
We just moved to the area and have eaten here twice. The food is great with large portions and everyone is super nice. We did wait a little for our waitress but the great food is well worth the wait.
The first few times I was there a few years ago I didnt have good experiences. Ive been there a few times lately and it has been better. The food has bern good and the specials are often quite good. Its reasonably priced and the bartenders have been attentive. I changed my mind about this place. I would recommend it.

I love this place and especially love taco Tuesday with Greg. The tacos are so fresh and yummy I like the my he won the best. We like to go out for the Tuesday taco night as a date night
Nice cozy place, food was all delicious and reasonably priced only issue is the service is a little slow, but not so slow its an issue unless your in a rush but then you shouldnt be sitting down for dinner

In a nearly empty restaurant it took 20 minutes to get a menu, another 30 minutes for bread, and over 20 minutes after that to get our order of mediocre burgers. I would rate zero if possible. Awful service. Other customers left in disgust.
We did not get are food in till like 4 hours and we had the worst drinks ever and are water was listing to what ever we said

I would give no stars - the wait staff I felt sorry for them as they knew the food was bad- the chef is not the same chef at lease he was a proud chief-if you want to be sick then eat here , this coming from a long term costumer who comes from out of town and eats lunch and dinner - sad

Terrible experience, my family and I waited over an hour for our meals. People that arrived after us received their meals, when we complained they got mad at us for being angry. We left and will not be returning.

2022-05-24First time here, a great bar/ restaurant, the bartender Greg was welcoming, friendly and fun as well as all the other patrons. I ordered the full rack of smoked ribs with fries and corn. The smoke flavor was there but not overpowering the flavor of the ribs. My advice would be to share this order with a friend. The price was only $26, cant find that anywhere today. You can eat at the bar as I did or in the diningroom or even outside on the porch. Will be going back, without a doubt.

2021-08-01Just a random late lunch stop and what a pleasure to be sitting out on the front porch and served by Christine. Husband was very satisfied with his turkey club. I went out on a limb to try a steak sandwich. It was cooked as ordered and very tasty. Good food, good service and reasonable price affords five star rating.

2022-06-25Awsome place! Visited the lake for a few days. Stumbled upon Murphys. Loved it so much my wife and I came back a second night. Both nights we sat at the bar. Bar tenders were super friendly. Burgers, tacos, potato skins and wings(get crispy) were better than expected. Beer was ice cold. Even the regulars were very friendly. We will definitely be back the next time were in town. Dont change a thing!

2022-01-03It was excellent. The staff was absolutely wonderful, very friendly and always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good and portions were a really nice size. Its a little pricey as is everything anymore but it was worth it 👌

2020-02-02Great restaurant bar to stay after Mount Peter Ski. Menu is so affordable, the food delicious and the customer service is just unbeatable. I’ll definitely come back to Murphy’s Tavern for more.
