This museum was great! We had so much fun! The reason I am giving a 4 is bc the gallery (which is the first half) is pretty boring. The first section was cool but after that I lost interest. Once we got to the games and bar that was a good time! The staff was extremely nice. The games were a blast and it was an experience to remember. I will say though that it feels like every place in New York has their heaters on 90! This was not the only place that was unbearably hot! And they don’t have a coat check so you will be extremely hot if you’re wearing a coat and/or sweater. Other than that I will say this museum is one to visit!
This place was really fun! Initially the exhibitions were standard fair but once you go into the carnival it really gets fun. Cool historical sex facts and a ton of interactive games. It was a blast. I went with a friend but this would be a very fun date as well and might get your significant other in the mood.
My husband and I visited last week and we had a blast! The museum is equally interesting as it is hilarious. I was actually surprised that there were 4 levels to this museum; there are so many random facts regarding sex. The “Superfunland” at the end of the museum was just that. I will not share all the pictures we took, but I can promise you’ll have a good time. There is a bar in the last level of “Superfunland”, but it’s currently closed because of covid. Still a great time!
Very cool place to see some really cool things in the actual museum of sex. The museum is not huge, but pairing it with the superfunland makes it worth the price. It’s a good time with a partner and the shop isn’t half bad! Wish I would’ve known their bar hours and was sad to get to the end of the museum and see it was closed. Don’t know if it’s worth going back, but was a great one of a kind experience
So, I never used anything like that and only seen stuff 😂But it was a great adventure. They dont judge if you just walk in and look at things and laugh. Or even take pictures.Definitely visit for fun and to know what are the things that you know nothing about but exist 😅
Our group had a great time here. There are 3 floors of exhibits that give a pretty well-rounded view of how sex has been used in or viewed by society. The last part is kind of a carnival, but I think its appropriate given some of the history. You can try all the games/activities without paying extra. To have the best time, come with friends.
The museum of sex has it all, Fine art, objects of antiquity, Feminist history, thought provoking exhibits , sex in advertising, fun interactive exhibits and a chill bar at the end of your trip through the museum. The tunnel of love is like 4d ride ...like Disneyland but for adults only!! The gift shop has high end products and books as well as novelty gifts. Staff is fun, friendly and helpful. Great lighting and many great photo ops.
Me and my husband came to visit this place for the first time today and we had a good time. A young lady by the name of Tova and a young guy name Kevin really made our experience at the museum worth while. The both of them was hilarious and courteous. They had me and my husband laughing the whole time we interacted with them. The museum itself was good for a one time experience. It wasnt that big but it was enjoyable. The slide down to the lower level was fun, but I personally feel it should be some type of light or something to indicate when the next person can go down the slide because if you slide down and someone slide right behind you someone might get a foot to the head. Hence the reason for 4 stars. But again shout out to the nice and courteous people who work there. I would come back just to talk to them thats how funny they was. Thanks again !!
Their valentines day package was well worth it; this is a very cool place to visit. The gallery has a lot to see and read about, the interactive games in Super Funland are AMAZING, and the bar at the end is themed with like 2 or 3 more places to take photos/play games. The staff are also really friendly and hilarious.
Super fun! Had a great time throughout the museum. I just wish that there was a singular price to play all the games instead of buying extra credits after using the free ones. Thank you for the great experience! Customer service (or customer cervix) was also super helpful!
Me and my friends had fun here ! There was three of us, it was comparable to the erotic museum in Miami but better, I’m not sure if we’re slow we were taking too many photos or taking in each piece but we chose the 7:20pm slot and finished right on time ( they close at 10 ) if I would have looked that up ahead of time we probably would have came at 6, there were a lot of really nice employees but the lady at the door who checks your vaccine card and waits by the door on the way out was clearly ready to be off work LOL! If you don’t go with fun people the stand offish employees make it odd
What a fun & exciting museum to visit. There was tons of history on sex itself long with all the different eras. Super Fun Land part of the museum was enjoyable with interactive games slides & more. Totally cool place to go to with your significant other or close friends ! Covid protocol on point !
If you are looking for a museum and don’t what your run of the mill fair, then the Museum of Sex is for you. It is informative, educational, intimate and fun! Leave your preconceived notions at the door and check it out. SuperFunLand at the end of the museum might be worth the price of admission!
Very informational and entertaining with a gift shop that possesses such a wide selection of fun merch, toys, art, and more. After waking up late, I reached the museum later than the time I booked the tickets for, and I was very worried and anxious that I spent the $70 or so (two tickets) for nothing, but the staff was very nice about it and didn’t even think twice about allowing us to continue as usual with our tour. Museum was, as I said, informational and entertaining, as well as quite humorous. The Superfunland section was very entertaining and actually decently shocking; there’s many games and such throughout that section and I genuinely anticipated that each one would be paid for separately, but each game was free for one play, included in the ticket price and giving you the opportunity to win various trinkets. I did, unfortunately, injure myself on the Siren’s wheel (my own stupidity, don’t ask) and scraped quite a lot of skin off of my finger, but the staff was super kind, timely, and prepared, having a bandaid ready and showing me to the nearest bathroom to clean up. Only half-relevant, but a lot of their security staff was very attractive as well
This museum was with the money, funnest place i’ve gone too. They have such great exhibits but the interactive portion of this museum is hilarious and everyone was having a good time! A lot of places to take photos for the insta people but really — if you haven’t gone YOU NEED TO GO don’t be shy, go with a goodgroup of friends, and watch how much fun this place is
This place is a great accent to NYC. From the semi interactive shows, games, visuals and designs, I am happy my girlfriend treated me here. I loved the kaleidoscope tunnel and neon terrain in one of the game rooms. You feel like you are at old time circus / funhouse. Great place to go with small group. The rooms are cozy and not overwhelming with crowds. Appreciated. Learned a few interesting history facts also. Loved the Ru Paul fortune teller booth!!! Thank you. I am coming back with more friends.
I mean it’s kinda fun, but why offer a 8:40pm timeslot when you are going to start kicking us out from the beginning. It was a constant reminder of how little time we had left and to please hurry. It completely spoiled the fun. By the end they didn’t even let us shop.
Staff was rude with us. It seems that tickets that are part of the New York Pass dont get access to the complete tour. Lady yelled at us that she had told us so (which she had not) and then move to the next room yelling that New York Pass holder had to get out. Unpleasant.
Definitely a fun experience to go to either on a date or with friends! NOT for the prude or self conscious! Enjoy a museum of sex education, the naked body on display for art and pleasure, and a fun interactive experience! There’s something there to enjoy for everyone! The museum is small but it’s worth going at least once
I LOVED IT!!! This place was awesome! I was reading other reviews mentioning that the place is small and not interesting but if you take the time to explore and read the museum you can see that its actually a great place to visit thats very informational! It is also very fun too! I am a YT vlogger and I enjoyed filming here! I got the superfunland in the tickets for $27 and I think it was a very good deal!!
This place offers some pieces of history related to the 20th century and how New York and the world started breaking taboos and creating art out of sexual needs and lust. Thats kind of interesting because it allows you to see how things were difficult for them back then and how they struggled to reach what we see today. Except that the museum in itself is not well organized, you cant really relate between the different levels of exhibitions, and you for sure will need to pay extra money to see extra parts of the museum. The entry ticket itself is not cheap, so i dont know if it worth the struggle or not.
Really fun and an amazing experience for anyone looking to go outside of the box for date night. Tons of things to look at and plenty of interactive games to play. A very friendly staff who make you feel comfortable and are always open to answering any questions. 10 out 10 recommend!!
I think it is worth it to go at least once. I’ve been twice and I think the second time left a slightly worse impression than the first. I think it is a must see because it is a novelty and has a lot of fun things to see. However, staff can be very rude. The place is slightly overpriced so if staff could be decent that would be greatly appreciated. It is a cool place so it is unfortunate that the customer service is so bad.
Due to 1) poorly designed website and no option to make a reservation on their website and 2) you have to go to the museum in person to make a reservation. We were unable to attend due to a poor user experience to purchase tickets. ☹️ When we did arrive in person we were told to come back tomorrow because they were closing. Ok, no problem. Return the next day and they were closed.
Had a fantastic time here with my partner in January 2020 at Super Funland. I miss this place so much. Between the playfulness of the games, the fun little prizes to take home with us, the 4D experience with its fabulous visuals, the awesome media exhibits, and ending in the cornucopia of sexy and silly that is their gift shop, this place made for a super memorable date.
I completely adored the enthusiasm from all employees! My boyfriend and I drove from Boston just to visit the notoriously known erotic funland. The prizes were fun and the carnival theme was greatly portrayed throughout the entire museum. 10/10. Wish the bar was open!
Long story short: I was forced to buy superfunland ticket. Too expensive for what you get. Do not come alone, you may feel uncomfortable. The museum is fine, however I sincerely think is way too small and expensive. First floor has around 50 sexual artifacts, second floor was kind of an art exhibition which is not that impresive (except for a recording that was being projected on a wall). Third floor was interesting though, as long as are patient enough and like music and cinema stuff. Also make sure to buy tickets online. I had to buy the tickets at the museum and for some reason that was not advertised on the website, I was not allowed to buy the museum entry alone. Instead I was required to buy the superfunland ticket as well. I was on my own so as you may imagine, it was not really superfun to hang around on this sexualized carnival alone. I ended up being charged $43, which in my opinion was waaay to expensive and even more if we compare this to other high class museums like MoMA, MET, etc.
I’m honestly surprised this doesn’t have better ratings. My best friend and I had a blast here! The prices weren’t that terrible (bring student ID if you have it!) There is a lot to learn and the curation is worth it. We went on a weeknight, but I’m sure it is a hot commodity on the weekends. All of the staff members were sweet. The curation was very informative. Superfunland made it blast. Don’t just buy the museum ticket, get both! We had so much fun - the photo ops were also amazing. The imagination behind this is mind-blowing!
The lady checking the ID and Vax card was rude.I was holding onto both our cards and ID and her instructions weren’t clear that she wanted me to hold them separately one at a time. She didnt even let me finish she talked to us like we were 4-year olds, when it was her who wasn’t clear with the way she wanted us to present/hold our Vcards and ID. As the first person you meet in the museum that sets a bad taste. She didn’t have to be very rude right from the getgo.Didn’t even smile or greet. Was just staring at us rudely and said “Vax cards!” as if were stupid, instead of saying “Can I see your vaxcards” as if we can read her mind? Other than that the experience inside the museum was fun. The games were fun and everyone else inside the museum was friendly. This all happened yesternight at around 6 30 pm.
Museum of sex was so much fun. It has a multitude of things to look at. They actually combined fun with educational. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and engaging. Drinks and games were fun. Will visit again if ever in NYC. They were out of stock of a lot of supplies but it was a very busy night.
This is a unique experience and a great time to say the least. Lots of cool inventions... the bicycle. The booby bounce is really fun too. You only get a limited amount of time but it’s definitely a fun aspect and event in itself. The edibles are funny and not bad actually! There is humor, truth, and fun to be found here. We spent quite some time perusing everything. It really is a gem and a wonderful place to tour in the city.
Was a really awesome experience right up til the end. Loved the history of stag films and punk and was so excited to enter Superfunland. Once you reach Superfanland, it’s all pay your way for fun and games. I wish it was better explained by staff or I could have just upgraded my ticket right in the beginning. Overall it was super fun but I do wish the pricing was more straight up.
I loved this place! It was only $17 to get in and I got to see so much stuff! The art is beautiful and I love how they have interacting sculptures that we can touch and understand whats going on. I enjoyed the bouncy house which was $3 a person for a 5 minute jump. The gift store is wild they have so many items and souvenirs. I would come here again and bring more friends so they can enjoy it as well!
As someone who owns and runs a professional business, this is a horrible and poorly run establishment. The service provided was decent but the employees and managers act like arrogant teenagers. I had people in front of me beg for a refund before getting inside. The manager declined consistently with no sympathy without apologizing once. It is apparently their policy, a policy that they need to rethink. A business who cares more about their service and value than the consumers are bound to be closed down soon! Sorry for the rant but I got 2nd hand anger from watching the situation unfold. If anyone deserves a refund exception, It’s them.
This “museum” has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. The apparent manager (highly doubt was the manager) was very unprofessional and unapologetic, and has zero skills on customer service. The “No refund” policy should have been an indicator that this place would be trouble. Almost seems like they want to take your money and run, $40 bucks is not worth this experience in the slightest!!! It is overpriced and a waste of time. New York City won’t be missing much if this place closes down. Hopefully.
Museum itself was worth the stop, the reason for 1 star rating is because you should be prepared to pay extra to get in even if you buy the all inclusive NYC pass. The museum is clearly listed as one of the attractions that is included for free with the pass. However, you have to pay another $18, to quote the rude chick at the register, because super funland is connected to the museum and theres no other exit so to see the museum (included in your day pass) you are forced to pay extra to be able to do the museum at all. This is misleading and wrong. There was a set of steps they could put an employee at immediately before the super funland entrance to divert museum only patrons down to the exit, they choose not to and force you to pay the extra $. So after you pay for an uber or ride the red bus for an hour to the stop for the museum, then walk to the museum, all the while looking forward to another great experience in NYC, be prepared for some shady business practices. Worth the extra $18? Not for a few claw games you get to play twice, a carnival game and a slide. To reply to the business response below is available is different from mandatory in order to enter. Shady!
Was just treated extremely rude by someone on the phone and told Ive called multiple times before which wasnt true. Never called this place before, was planning on coming to visit from MA with my girlfriend in a few weeks but wont be now due to the way I was treated on the phone and accused of calling before because Im bored great way to treat a potential customer. Enjoy the 1 star review. Will never visit now.***update***I sent an email per the owners request over 8 months ago, never received any response.
It was really fun and we had a fabulous time! Even though tickets have tine entry it was really crowded so we werent able to partake in all of the carnival games 😭But we still had a blast! The workers are bubbly and enthusiastic which made for a great experience. Just remember it will be crowded so if you have issues with large crowds or you arent vaccinated then I wouldnt recommend going.
Great experience. very educational whilst keeping things fun and interesting. The drink were very good especially for someone like me who doesn’t like alcohol it was great. The best part is really in environment of people every one is friendly. highly recommend 10 out of 10.
This museum is highly intriguing but the experience can be even better for visitors. The top floor was really engaging and the section with animal sex facts taught me information I had no clue about. The sex toy room was interesting and funny and boob bouncy house made me feel like a kid again but they ought to extend the time limit allotted for the price paid. The bottom floor was shocking to me due to the lack of diversity depicted. It was really troubling as if other ethnicities and races didnt engage in sex... Other than that, the experience was fun but I dont plan on returning unless they rotate the exhibits. Also the bar downstairs has so much potential but its sort of lackluster especially the bored employees and the gift shop has some interesting toys.
I flew up for a 3-day trip from Florida and made sure that The Museum of Sex was a special stop! I didnt know what I was walking into, but I was excited all the same! If youre a little nervous around sex paraphernalia, the lobby may be slightly intimidating. But once you enter the museum its a lot easier to take in! The museum is divided into different levels (super skinny and old NYC building, ofc) and each level is a different theme throughout the history of sex. Each exhibit was extremely detailed and highly educational. There were videos, props, photos, and interactive exhibits. The staff was friendly throughout the entire museum and made my experience enjoyable. Theres even a miniature arcade at the end where you can bounce in a breast-themed bounce house, play a claw machine for stuffed toys, and play skee ball to win a souvenir crown! If youre looking for a highly pleasurable way to spend an hour or two, this is the perfect place to slide through!
I went to the museum and was completely blown away by both the esthetics and the exhibitions. There wasn’t a single moment when you didn’t hear someone giggling over an image or video. the photography exhibition of James Bidgood was true eye candy. the Stag film exhibition was oddly informative and interestingly curated because it guided the viewer effortlessly through out the space. It was educational , but most importantly FUN. SuperFunLand is a total treat so don’t skip the arcade card because you will regret it! I strongly recommend this for a group activity and/or a fun date.
This was one of the funnest things I’ve done in a while. Perfect to go with a friend or significant other. It’s educational on the timeline of the sex industry. Lots of visual and interactive experiences, it’s like a sex carnival. I can’t wait to go back been telling all my friends. Not to be missed!!! ❤️
Really cool and fun experience! The guy at the front said it takes about 1.5hr to get through but we were in there for nearly 3hr! After the museum portion there is a whole interactive game section called superfunland that made it a 5 star experience. Highly recommend!
My best friend and I went here yesterday and we had so much fun! I love how it was a learning experience but also interactive and a fun experience! I felt like the admission price was 100% worth it for what you’re getting. If you’re thinking about visiting I highly recommend coming here!!
Heard mixed reviews about this place, the reviews were RIGHT the museum isn’t worth the $20 pre person. The games inside the museum should be included in the fee. $5-$15 to play games?! Isn’t worth the money! The adult store inside of the museum really needs some cleaning. Dust on products, lube running down bottles, glass sticky. Save your time & money!
What a educational, fun, playful, eye-opening, and sometimes bizarre or alluring experience! I very much enjoyed the history of sex culture starting from Mesopotamia to now, the mystery and playfulness of the tunnels, 4D movie, and arcade/carnival style games. I very much appreciated the discussion about consent which really enabled everyone to have a fun but safe experience. I recommend it to my friends and hope to return to explore areas I was unable to the first go around!
I went to the Museum of Sex for the first time last month to check out Superfunland. Literally every worker we ran into was super welcoming and helpful, something that can be rare in NYC. The gift shop has cool novelty items and the exhibits are very insightful. Superfunland was exactly that, super fun! The rooms are interactive and the workers help make it fun. They also make for cool photo ops so be sure to take lots of pictures. As a South Brooklyn girl, I loveddd seeing Coney Island incorporated a few times in the pop-up. I definitely recommend stopping by with friends!
I absolutely recommend the museum and superfunland to both tourists and residents! The staff is so nice, the aesthetic is amazing, and the exhibits are both educational and exciting! Very inclusive, with a great balance of history and fun. There’s tons of awesome photo ops, and the store is really neat, as well. 10/10 recommend.
Definitely add this place to your list for NY activities! We learned a lot more than we anticipated, while still having so much fun! The adult funland was great 👍🏽 if you have 1pm tickets, it asks you to arrive at 12:45. I would recommend 1pm if its cold or not a great day out because they dont open until 1pm and will not let you in until then anyways.
Went here this weekend for my friends 30th bday and it was BANANAS!!!! lmfao We had so much fun it was so weird but yet intriguing at the same time, all in a good way! There was so much to look at I can’t even begin to explain everything but I will say a couple of the most memorable and hilarious parts were riding the mechanical bull with the vibrator and the 4D mini film/ride that they have as well! It completely tripped me out but it was so great we were dying laughing!!! I’d definitely go again. A cool thing if you want to try something different for a change:)
I loved it. The staff was fun polite and lively. I feel like alot of attraction just bring you in and show you the basics and take you money, but NOT this place. To the historical facts of sexual artifacts to the Funland play area and the bar. Overall is great adult experience.
Worst experience ever! Tickets for museum experience can not be purchased at the location but only on-line. We tried and when it did not work, we asked assistance of a manager named Kristina. Kristina perhaps the most vile, rude, unprofessional and miserable person I have ever met. Instead of giving us assistance with the 80$ purchase of 2 tickets! gave us attitude, cursed at us when asked not to speak with us rudely then called security and attempted to have us ejected. Not only should this 20-something not be a manager she should not be in a customer service based industry at all. She had to be strongly corrected and scolded by yet another manager. (They said they are all managers!) The entire evening staff of this facility including security (obese guy with corn rows) are rude, ignorant, and ghetto. Would not recommend to anyone. The museum was random pieces of art and trinkets was certainly not worth 40$ a person. Superfunland mildly entertaining with its sex based carnival games.. Complete waste of money and time as a whole. Staff made the entire experience horrible. Who wants to pay to be disrespected and antogonized.
Less sexy than one might expect, given the name. Relatively small exhibition, featuring a lot of antique sex toys. Also one entire floor of the museum is devoted to sex lives of animals? (could’ve just gone to the Bronx zoo, that’s more fun anyway)Boobie bouncy castle was fun but costs extra $3 for a few minutes inside, which is plenty of time to twist your ankle.Best part was the Vice curated exhibit, NSFW Female Gaze. Would return for more of that or go to see it separately.
Worth every dollar. Such an amazing, fun time. We spent like 3 hours there. Each floor, down every turn was something interesting & cool. We loved it! I would absolutely 10 out of 10 recommend it. Me & my partner will absolutely go back again. Let’s just say we had a good night after !!!
The Museum of Sex was super fun! There were multiple floors of interesting history, pictures, and interactive games. The last stop of the museum was a bar, which is a very cute touch. It was extremely creative and well thought out. It might be my new favorite museum.
It’s a great experience. I bought tickets for my boyfriend and I for his birthday. Definitely a good place to bring someone when you have an intimate relationship with them. I give the museum 4 stars ONLY because the museum part itself is a drag. The museum part at first is all about reading to gain knowledge about sex toys and the evolution of sex throughout history. The fun part begins when you enter superfunland.
We were really excited to experience the museum of sex since we’ve heard so many people raving about it. However I’d say for the price of the museum it was an underwhelming experience. Don’t want to give away everything for you but the best part was the games you get to play and the gift shop when you walk in. The rest was pretty interesting stuff but let’s be honest none of us were paying attention the info mostly the interesting sex toys and pictures throughout lol. I don’t know if I’d recommend but it’s definitely an interesting experience but pricey
My boyfriend and I went, honestly it’s boring, very vanilla. It’s small and it lacks in versatility. There needs to be more themes. It’s a funny experience though. We were in and out. Spent an hour there. He spent 70$ On a hour experience for games we could only play once each. You’re spending money to go up and down stairs. The bull riding was the best part but you only ride for 20 seconds. LITERALLY. I envisioned this as a spicier experience, more innovative and interactive, I thought there would be more to see and even more to do. It’s definitely a gassed up place. I think they’d be better as a sex arcade
The amount of stuff offered for a person to see isnt exactly worth the ticket price in my opinion unless you get it at a discount like I did but even then the museum is only worth visiting once for an experience of the culture that is NYC (or lower Manhattan at least).
Great fun and very informative! Lots of super cool things on display and fun interactive games. If you’re a weirdo, you’ll love it. If you’re really weird, don’t miss the 4d movie. My only wish is that the shop had more things related to the museum (art prints, post cards, action figures, etc.) The store is just a small, typical sex shop. The toys are good quality brands but nothing out of the ordinary.
It was cool. Less interactive than i was hoping for. No bouncy house, not many photo ops, very small in terms of space for superfunland - literally only about 20 of us on the floor at the time and it took almost a full hour to make our rounds on only 3 games. Gift shop is super cool though!
Had such an amazing time ! We Went here for my fiancé’s birthday wanted something unique and fun. This museum totally delivered ! The staff was fun and fantastic ! They took tons of safety precautions too which is so important during the pandemic. We felt safe and were so happy !! Super funland is so cool unique and interactive ! The whole experience was amazing ! 10/10 would recommend!!!
Hello! Ill be coming to visit in a few weeks with some girlfriends and we are super excited!! Especially after seeing so many awesome reviews, were all itching to experience this! Some questions though: Are you near/walking distance to food and shops? Is there a time limit to be in the museum? Do we automatically get a tour guide when we get there? Or is it a free for all for my girls and I to roam as we please? I see the tickets are $40.00 - does the cost cover just admission? And anything else that is extra we decide to do, we pay for?Sorry for so many questions! Im not too familiar with the city, let alone the museum, so I just want to plan the day accordingly!
We had the New York pass and had arrived early to this place. It was clearly mentioned that the fun activities are optional. They tried to upsell these activities, and wanted to charge $25 each. This makes no sense of paying the hefty price for the NY passes then. It was just this place where we had an issue using our passes. Other places and museums were just scan and go. We ended up not going in for this one.I do not recommend visiting this place until and unless you wanna buy the tickets separately. People working there forget that we read websites and blogposts before going in. But anyway, just a heads up for all you guys out there. Go try the ice-cream museum, just a 10 min subway ride from this not so sexy place.
Had a great time here! Lots of activities and games to take part in. It was a bit frustrating that half of the games kept saying I already played them when I had not. I had to keep finding workers to turn the games on. Overall a great experience and would love to return.
This place is SO AMAZING. Its definitely a worthwhile experience. There are a couple exhibitions, all very informative on the world and history of sex, and at the end theres a couple of game rooms with installments for cool photo ops. Every game is free for one play and is included with your ticket. My favorite part was going through a tunnel-like hologram spherical room. It felt like a dream, especially with the oldie kind of music they play while youre taking pictures in it makes it feel like dancing. Im so glad we had the opportunity to be the only ones there at that part of the museum to explore and immerse ourselves in it.
Im really glad I visited this place. I learned a lot from the featured exhibit (currently The Incomplete Araki) and their other exhibits such as The Sex Lives of Animals and Object XXX.This is not a porn gallery but a place to respect artistic sexuality and to learn about the sex lives of humans (and animals). There is a lot of commentary throughout the Museum about the artworks on display to give you a better understanding of the subject matter. Yes, there IS sex. If you arent expecting sex, dont go.Keep in mind that its a museum. Its a collection of art exhibits that revolve around something completely taboo. Like I said before, if youre not open to that then dont go!The bouncy boob room was closed for repairs when I went, but I still spent several hours here and enjoyed all of the galleries. Plus, theres a bar!!!
This was the most bizarre but most fun experience I’ve had in recent memory. I wasn’t entirely sure what I was getting into but I had an absolute blast throughout the entire experience. The exhibits were amazing and informative, Super Fun Land will likely be a story my friends will all believe was a fever dream. Covid precautions were taken throughout. All in all, an amazing visit
The attraction itself is definitely a bit overhyped but I stand by the fact it is a great date night activity. Try not to go during one of their “peak” times, it’ll save you a bit of money. The staff are all super funny and helpful. Exhibits were small and went by quick; you could probably breeze through this museum in less than thirty minutes as some have said. Like I said, definitely have this experience you won’t regret it, but go during a non-peak time to get the best bang for your buck for what the museum is.
Cool vibes yesterday. Girl staff is fun, loud & enthusiastic with the games. My friend accidentally passed behind an exhibit as she has never been to a museum before and the security man or whatever on the “cam” floor was super rude after I apologized for her in a very nice tone. He said “how could you not know... do you not see the wire blocking” with an attitude. He seemed miserable to be there. I get people can be annoying but the security was kind of OD with their mics and stares and killed the vibe.nobody was acting crazy. They could be more low key and nice. Other than that it was fun
It was fun! Very informative, however I wish it had been more interactive overall - I believe it was pre Covid? Something to consider while things are still 1/2 capacity. But the things that are up are great, the staff was friendly and the exhibits are a bit on the wild side, in a good way. It was a very sex positive, educational environment!
Not much to look at. I was expecting to see a lot more due to the pictured. Dope place but relatively not much offered especially since people GASSED it up and I had higher expectations. Staff is sweet and awesome! Just disappointing that I didn’t see much of the “sex museum” it’s claimed to be. I was kinda hopefully of the statues and artwork but they didnt even have that there.
I don’t know why this place has bad reviews! My bf and I went and had a great time. We spent about two hours between the museum and the gift shop! Soooo much fun. And they’re follow COVID guidelines amazingly. They made me feel extremely comfortable and the workers are super kind. Definitely recommend!
I loved this! There were so many activities to do and plenty of interesting videos/images to see! I mean WOW! This is definitely the type of spontaneous adventure you want to have as your first date (second, third, etc.). The staff are super pleasant and they say the most outrageously funny greetings so be prepared to be caught off guard. Thankfully this place was not to crowded but because its not that big, it got a little hot quickly. I went with my friend during the winter season and we were basically sweating from our layers and the mask. Also the bar was closed due to the virus so drink at a local bar near by!#returningcustomer
Went under the Super Funland tickets that allow you to explore the entire museum. Great games for you & friends once you get past the carnival as well. Multiple exhibitions that are very interesting. My favorite was the BAD: Betty A. Dodson. Exhibitions are intriguing & really know how to bring you in.
Its a fun place and safe place the staff are helpful and Super Funland was an amazing ride...they had games and prizes like a mini indoor Coney Island but for adults. People laughing at the puns given by the staff when you enter the movie or VR rooms...I loved the motion chairs like your going for a ride on the wild side....it was so much fun good to go with friends but MATURE people only because its so available for you to be able to touch and interact you want to just make sure its all in fun I will be back for that good ride on the bull next time😁😁😅😅😉
It was a great experience overall. We bought tix online for super fun land in the Museum Of Sex. We just put in our validation code and our tickets were printed and handed to us. We spent the most time there then actually seeing the rest of the museum. Will be back a third or fourth time.
It was okay. It was informative they do have a gift shop, it was clean and they did sanitized. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They have different exhibits there is even game room floor. Ill just say it was more exciting in my head then what was actually there.
Edifying, titillating, entertaining interesting and a bit salacious.Theres something for everyone at MoSex and youll leave there much more knowledgeable than when you entered and maybe a little sweatier too. The exhibits are fascinating, the games are fun and the facts youll learn will stay with you. The museum itself is clean, safe with a helpful staff. A little over priced though. But this is NYC.
I was excited to experience the museum. It’s a must visit museum. It was a thrill to win prizes and buy sexy items from the gift shop. Definitely would go again. I had multiple favorite parts during my time there. Recommend to go ASAP! It was extremely fun and interesting. I was intrigued the entire experience.
Very fun place to take a date to. My GF and I had a blast spending an afternoon here. Theyre just going to obviously have very strict no tolerance policies for covid, but we felt really safe because of them. It also wasnt too crowded either. Would definitely go again and recommend to everyone. 👍

2022-03-14This was an amazing, if not slightly bizarre experience. We came here after seeing it was included on the New York pass. The place has a great explanation of history. There’s also a bar, cinema and loads of games to play, which I absolutely wasn’t expecting at all. It also has a really cool vibe generally and the staff are informative. I’d recommend this place. However, just be aware that the New York pass doesn’t cover playing the games.

2022-02-05Awesome place to visit. It started off slow but by the end it was well worth the price of admission. Youre met with a couple galleries to start with but it really turns up with the games. They are all QR code equipped and you get to play multiple games. There are 2 rides in there as well. Theres also a slide at the end to get you to the lounge area. Excellent place to visit but would not plan a day around it. We coupled it with a trip to the Warhol Art Gallery and it worked out perfectly.

2022-01-24Had a ton fun here, but wish the museum was a bit bigger! Tons of cool photo ops and activities, especially if you’re going with a friend. First few floors had some cool exhibits, but the real fun are the games, lights, and bouncy house.Wouldn’t plan your day around the museum, but it’s a lot of fun if you’re around the area.

2022-05-03Such an amazing experience. Literally FLOORS OF FUN. i loved that this place was not only informational and impactful, but fun and unique as ever. I felt like I was launched into different period’s of time on each floor. It was so interactive and cool, although I experienced it all, I will defiantly return to show more people!❤️ Expect to be here for quite a bit of time! There is so much to do and look at!

2022-06-17Loved the experience! The museum was surprisingly educational, thought-invoking and entertaining at the same time. The staff were super energetic and fun. Theres a part where they had an entire presentation and interactive bit and they were always perfectly in character.Theres a bunch of arcade games on one floor and the staff help you out if anything breaks or if they see you struggling to get a prize from the claw machine.Bouncy castle was fun.Would definitely recommend for date night or a fun outting with friends.

2022-02-17What an awesome experience! Parking is a little hectic but nothing too crazy! This museum is worth every penny. Friendly staff, so much to see and do.I wasn’t expecting to spend so much time here at first, the gallery was super knowledgeable, the shows were very informative, the games, rides and entertainment made me feel like a kid all over again! I came for the the Valentines couple lockdown and it was such a great date experience! I was given a goodie bag with handcuffs and keys and a pouched alcoholic beverage that was so good !!!!Staff was super fun, thank you for this experience!!!!

2022-01-18This was such a great experience!!! I enjoyed every minute of it, they give you two cards to play the games inside and there is a lot of time for pictures. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fun space with friends

2022-01-14Experience started off bad with rude and unwelcoming lady that was checking ID & Vax card. Very nasty attitude. However, the staff inside the actual museum was super funny, friendly, & ensured that we were having a good time. Museum itself is really cool & got to learn some of the history I had no idea about.

2022-04-15I got out of my comfort zone for this spot! This is from Feb 2022! My friend took me here for my birthday and though I’m admittedly a shy person on this end of things, I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I laughed, I teared up, and thank God I had a mask cause I blushed too.The Museum ExperienceIt is a multi level experience, I originally came to this museum back in 2017 and I noticed that the exhibits changed a lot. The first and second floor lean more to memorabilia, art, lessons, and stories about other people in the traditional sense of a museum. The top floor is the beginning of Super Fun Land, were you can play carnival games and have an engaging and active role in the museums activities, from regular carnival games to bull riding and more. This is where I had the most fun!It was raunchy, educational, and I really liked it! You do need to have an open mind to enjoy the experience. It was a very interesting bday for me and whether you go with your BFF or your significant other you’re gonna have fun and learn a lot 😂*Note: I went on a Tuesday and it wasn’t so crowded, so I really got to enjoy everything.Building Tips!—The basement and the top floor have bathrooms (top floor bathroom is cuter).—I remember having to climb a solid amount of narrow steps. I didn’t inquire about an elevator, but I don’t think there was one. I’d double check.—There is a bar at the end of super fun land!—I stood here 3.5 hours, but I was really taking my time in here.
