What a disappointment, they have a manager who clearly doesn’t know anything about the hospitality industry. We called for delivery, after an hour and change we call to see if the delivery they advised would be 30-45 mins has left. They tell us it’s 5 minutes away. After another 43 minutes we called back, politely asked if it has left, they advise us it was sitting there and they thought it was a pick up, even though we called twice inquiring about our “delivery” the manager says I’ll send someone right now he will be there in minutes. 33 minutes later we realized he wasn’t coming as it does not take 33 minutes to travel 6 blocks. We called back and the order was canceled. This is what happens when you make your delivery driver your manager. Not a single apology or anything else. Just a waste of time and very inconsiderate people. There are just as good options in LB who actually value your business. Especially with the prices this place charges. PS i was just very ting to a friend about this experience and he explained his wife got food poisoning while pregnant he didn’t hear and when they notified the restaurant they couldn’t care less. Some arrogance this place has.
This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in my neighborhood and my friends and I are a regulars here, mostly on Thursday nights after our boardwalk run. This time I went on a Friday night with some family. This place never disappoints! Sushi and sashimi are always fresh and delicious! And the waiters and waitresses are very attentive. As you get to know them they treat you even better... sometimes with little perks.Seating is a little tight and intimate and it can get crowded here on busy nights so sometimes theres a wait. Theres also seating at the sushi bar if you dont want to wait for a table.
Excellent food! I highly recommend this restaurant. I was staying at the Allegria hotel nearby, so I ordered the Chirashi and a side salad from Nagahama for a dinner delivery. Received my order well within the estimated delivery time👍👍. The salad itself was standard iceberg lettuce fare, but their dressing was quite good. But more importantly, the chirashi was absolutely delicious! It was a sizable portion: rice was still nice and warm, and had that light, vinegary seasoned taste of good sushi rice. The slices of fish were marvelously tender and flavorful, and the pieces of tamagoyaki were such a treat in the overall bowl of seafood. I was quite full 3/4 of the way in, but the food was so good that I had to finish every last bite. No regrets!
I didn’t eat my food after they brought our food on the table. My daughter screamed Mom don’t drink it. The glass of wine still has lipstick from others, fingers prints are all over the cup. We started to at other glasses. Obviously they didn’t not wash them. They are so busy. I told the server about it. She took the cup away with attitude. No sorry nothing. We paid our bill left
This place never disappoints! There could be a bit of a wait before you get sitted, but its worth it. Sushi and sashimi are always fresh and the service is friendly. This restaurant gets crowded at dinner time and on the weekends. It seems to be very popular in the neighborhood. There are young couples, old friends getting together, families with multiple generations…; everyone seems to enjoy dining there.
The sushi is really good. And the $14.50 sushi lunch platter,is a good buy. However, they seriously need to improve their restaurant cleanliness,as I noticed;when I looked- just beyond, their dining area. It even appears that(their dinning area), is by reduced by much clutter, leading to their kitchen.
I love blowing my parents money. However, I did not enjoy blowing it this time around. It really was not worth it. The food is incredibly expensive for the amount that you get. The quality is good, albeit not worth what you are paying for. There are a plethora of other Asian cuisine places near by, at least half of which I believe are better. The only reason that I did not one star is because of the free green tea, and the fact that the service is not horrible.
Faultless! Simply the best quality, best tasting, best presentation, best value...No. 1 roll, David roll, Chanukah roll, warm mussel appetizers (we got 2 each).. salads as fresh as can be! Popular place... very casual, very busy. Better than anything in Manhattan, Nobu quality at 1/3rd the price.
We had a variety if sushi and rolls1 roll we had had fake imitation Crab meatThen other Roll the tuna was old and fishyTasting and smelt. My girlfriend and I hadA couple of drinks at home, since this wasA take out service. Went back the next daySunday, to return the 2 Rolls mentionedabove. They were closed for that LunchService. I live 45 min. Away. I called in as soonAs they opened up. The front man who answered the phone. Said since I didnt returnThe sushi. It was policy of the owner and restaurant. NOT TO REFUND THE MONEY ORSTAND BYE THEIR FOOD. WATCH OUTany Rolls that have spice or sauce maybe badOr on the way out. So they think they can mask their food with hot sauce or other sauces. ANY SNOW CRAB. IS FAKE IMITATION CRAB MEAT. BE CAREFUL
One of the best sushi places on Long island. The menu here it much more traditional than some of the new popular sushi places that have been popping up on Long island (i.e. Arata, Tiga). If you value the quality of fish, and the more simple crafting of sushi, then you will love nagahama.
Yesterday I went with two long time friends to Nagahama Sushi to celebrate a dear friends birthday. I had bought her a $100 gift card and this would be the first time we would be able to use it.First the good - the food is excellent and easily compares to anything else around. Ive been here several times and would definately return for the food alone. I would definately return despite the negative points below; the food is simply that good. We had sushi, tempura and a slew of appetiziers, all done to perfection. The negative - when we tried to pay, the manager told us there was a zero balance on the unused gift card. Fortunately we had both the gift receipt and the credit card I used for the gift card. We waited a half hour for this to be sorted out. The manager was very apologetic, and said that this happened frequently, apparenyly so we wouldnt take it personally. He even showed us a list of accounts in which he had similar problems.I dont know what would have happened if we didnt bring the gift receipt and if I didnt have access to my credit card account. I would recommned this place, despite the gift card debacle but Id strongly advise against buying their gift cards.
I started visiting Nagahama initially after my long time favorite sushi restaurant, Taiko of Rockville Centre, closed down unexpectedly a few years back. Ive been taking friends to Nagahama ever since. Their fish is always fresh as can be, in particular their salmon sashimi is irresistible! Nor do I know of any other sushi restaurant in Nassau that sells authentic tamagoyaki with thin layers of egg folded many times over. Crunchy Spicy Fresh Salmon roll, David Roll, and Black Dragon Roll are must trys.
Nice little Japanese restuarant. My daughter contantly raved about Nagshama in Long Beach when we lived on LI. We are here on a family vacation, visiting friends and family and happen to be staying on Long Beach so of course we had to give it a try. My, wife, son, and I all tried a few different rolls to get a sense if it lived up to my daughters hype.I am happy to say Nagahama is an excellent choice based on my admittedly limited experience. The spicy crunchy tuna, barbacued yellow tail, and salmon roll were all great. I think Nagahama is definitely worth a try.
The Worst food and service. They absolutely messed up our order, we waited forever (with 2 kids) and the food was not too good. They could at least have been apologetic, but they were not. It was a very bad experience - restaurant was better several years ago, but I will not return!

2022-07-10Absolutely the best! I wish I could give more stars to this place because it is a legitimate Japanese experience of what sashimi and sushi should be.Good selection of Sake and beer. The miso soup was perfection.I ordered the miso cod as an appetizer. Definitely recommend! Cooked perfectly, not overly seasoned or sweet. Just great flakey fish the way it should be with perfectly chared and crispy skin.Sushi and sashimi sampler + California roll was a great value.Specialty rolls ordered did not disappoint! The David roll was AMAZING!! Spider roll with soft shelled crab was good too, lots of crab, enjoyed very much. Now on to my favorites, as of this wasnt enough already lol, the medium Toro.. OMG literally brought tears to my eyes, Im still so happy just thinking about it. Super fatty, great cuts, best I have had outside of Japan.Finally.. THE SWEET SHRIMP!! Definitely order this! I didnt get a picture of the fried head but it was fried to perfection. Light breading, perfectly cooked. The sweet shrimp sushi was plump, sweet, with a small crunchy bite to it. This is one of my favorite things and Im so glad it was as good as it was.Kudos to the Chef and his team on excellent execution, awesome service, and friendly staff.Highly recommended, and will be back next time I am in NYC!

2022-05-04Food may be good but the owner is horrible. Tells her servers not to let you know that they aren’t taking credit cards until they bring the check and that if you did want to pay credit card as of today they have a new policy to charge an extra 3.5% for credit card (points to a sign the size of a notecard) This was after we got ignored all evening. Never got teriyaki we asked for. Good food but not worth the bad service.

2022-01-17The food is excellent, however, the front house staff were disorganized and rude. The food wait for delivery and pick-up have been long and dreadful since before COVID-19. Front of house staff was unapologetic and perhaps finding suitable and competent replacements would benefit the establishment. Dining in is a much better experience.

2022-06-13Good but overrated and wait times for pick up can be ridiculous. Service when dining in has been very good. The interior could use a renovation.

2022-05-10Best sushi on LI. It would be nice if they delivered. It says here they deliver, that is a lie. Everytime i’ve called for delivery they say it will be two hours or it will be over an hour and a half or it will be a very long time. This means no, they do not deliver. Shame. Best sushi, worst delivery.

2022-02-06Fake japanese food. Service from staff is pitiful and cringe worthy. I felt like I was being yelled at. Way better alternatives in Long beach than this place.
