Ive been buying parts from NAPA for over a decade since I started repairing my own cars. I like the quality of the parts, Carlyle tools, and other accessories. The ability to buy specialty products for my classic or obscure vehicles that other retailers do not have is a major win for me since I like to shop local. Yesterday, I had a really frustrating experience at this location that bothered me quite a bit.I placed an online order yesterday for BK 7769140, a heater hose removal tool. The website said Order Now, Pickup Today at 1430 Lyell Ave, Rochester. Several hours passed and I made my way to the store to pick up my order after work. Gabby at the counter couldnt find the order, so she had another person look for the tool. The man who was helping her told me that this was a special order item.When I placed the order it said, pick up in store today, on the website.The man assured me I was wrong and that is not what it said.Look, it says right here on your page, available for pickup today, and here, on this print out!Again, he assured me that I was wrong and didnt understand. He claimed the tool was in Albany and not located in the store. He said I needed to call for availability, and that my order was for shipping to my house (it absolutely wasnt). It explicitly said, pickup today at 1430 Lyell Ave. Attached is a screenshot from the website for this exact item.I can accept that there was an inventory discrepancy at this store, but I will not accept being called a liar, or have my ability to read questioned like this. A simple, Im sorry sir, our stock count is incorrect and we dont have this item today. We will have to pull it from the warehouse. would be more appropriate. Id expect this kind of treatment from AutoZone, or Advance, but not my beloved NAPA.
Dont waste your time!! I order a CV Joint here and after 3 store visits and 5 or 6 calls between 3 weeks finally arrived. They keep saying 2 more days , 2 more days. End up ordering in advance auto parts and in 2 days was at my door!! Free shipping and 10 dollars cheaper!! Also employees are rude and dont care about you. Like I said, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! GO TO AUTOZONE OR ADVANCE.
I dealt with Chris the last two times there. He is very helpful and both times he impressed me, not only with the right part, but his knowledge of cars. I actually look for him to help me when Im there. I used to go to places like Auto zone and Advance Auto probably because they have a bigger sales floor....but the real knowledge resides at NAPA.
My first experience at Napa and it was a very positive one. After searching multiple places for a cabin air filter for my 2015 Jeep Cherokee, Napa was the only place in town that had this specific filter. Chris was very helpful in helping me find and purchase this product.
Mark has picked a great looking staf, so sad thay no nothing about selling auto parts. Havent been there since 2018, bought a new Jeep. Its off warranty and I needed parts, what happened to all the good parts know how? No help from Mark, dont hide in the back. Call your customers.

2022-06-28Applied online, spoke to mgr about being an experienced driver,and he said he would call me back when I drop by cuz he had a conference call.Needless to say never called back and its been well over a week so he must really not be in need of commercial drivers oh well. If the manager of the store sees this Ive also found a new position and thank you much

2022-01-14Bought a filter wrench there for $58 and found the same tool at harbor freight for $8. Tried taking the wrench back for a refund unused with the receipt and they refused to take it back. These people are unprofessional and have bad customer service. Went to the other Napa store on lake ave to return it & they refunded my payment with no problems.

2022-01-22Very good peeps, who went way out of their way to be helpful. Even as they were closing down, they saw that I was in a jam, and they stopped what. they were doing to really help me get everything I needed sorted. Recommended.

2021-10-07No returns allowed without receipt! Bought some rotors and brake pads as a kit I don’t believe I was ever given a receipt for, Turned out I didn’t need the rotors. This is the only parts store or any store for that matter I’ve ever heard of not accepting their own brand on a return for even store credit. I’ve previously tried to exchange a part that was leaking fluid all over the packaging to another Napa location with a bit of resistance as well. Seems like they’re more than friendly to take your business but less than friendly to help a customer with an issue.Edit:I’ve contacted customer service twice regarding this transaction with no luck. I don’t see how contacting customer service via email would change their return policy

2020-09-15Service was good, staff was wearing masks as well. But, got the wrong part and didnt know until the mechanic told me. Being from out of the area, this wasnt an expedient way to get my car fixed for a safe ride home. Drove home without being fixed.
