I had an amazing experience with NSDFC. Dylan was extremely informative and helped me to realize I qualified for $17,500 in student loan forgiveness. He was very clear and answered all of my questions. After they submitted my application, Jackie helped me stay informed on the review and approval process. I cannot recommend NSDFC enough.
I just got AWESOME news today. I was forgiven both my student loan and my parent PLUS loan. Because of a 2019 loan consolidation through my loan specialist/representative, Dylan H., my PLUS loan was forgiven under the new and limited PSLF rules in 2022 because of that consolidation. I was forgiven not only my student loan, but also the PLUS loan I took out for my daughters education to become a nurse. I was forgiven over $63,000!!!! I feel like I won the lottery. Dylan made himself available to answer emails and phone calls in a timely fashion. When I started with the loan forgiveness program, I was with a company that took service charges from me every month. The UFT Student, Debt Relief Program, helped me get $64,000 in loans waived. Upon joining the UFT, I received multiple emails about Student Debt Relief, I decided to make a call one day, and the rest is history. I was ecstatic and so thankful. Before I could reach out to Anthony Manza, he had texted me.I struggled with payments. As a paraprofessional, I am not paid as well as a teacher. Sometimes, I didnt know how to pay the bills. My Loan forgiveness program was called Income Diven Repayment Plan. I would recertify every year, and the loan payment would increase as my income increased.Although the pandemic was not kind, my loan payments were suspended from the Income-Driven Repayment Plan, and that in itself was a relief.I received an email in May 2022 stating, borrowers who do not make payments can receive credit toward PSLF for the period of suspension? That is right; you do not need to make your monthly payments to have them count toward the 120 qualifying payments needed for PSLF. You are required to certify that you worked full-time for a qualifying employer during the suspension. I couldnt believe what I was reading.Thanks to the staff at our UFT offices for sending out email correspondence and updated text messages, I was able to act quickly to send all information needed to get my loan waived. This was an incredible weight off my shoulders. I am incredibly grateful to all people involved for the countless hours you put in on my behalf. I feel as though I can breathe again. I am overjoyed that Local 237’s Student Loan Forgiveness helped me get my loans forgiven.I had attended meetings before about the Public Student Loan Forgiveness program and thought I would not qualify because I had already graduated from law school before 2007. Then I found out about Local 237’s Student Loan Forgiveness program at a union member meeting and I thought to myself why not take a chance as we were all on lockdown during the pandemic. I found out about the online session with National Student Debt Forgiveness Center (NSDFC). The session was simple and effective.I received the phone call after the session. I was dreading the call but I was pleasantly surprised. NSDFC presented the program well with no pressure whatsoever. I was told at the time that I did not qualify for student loan forgiveness but I could move my loans to the correct provider should the law be changed. I would benefit from having a few years taken off the loans making the switch. Although I did not qualify for loan forgiveness I was content to have a few years reduced as it would have saved me a few thousand dollars down the road.Then in late 2021 I received another call from NSDFC and they told me that the federal government in fact made a change to the Public Student Loan Forgiveness program. NSDFC offered to put in my application. They really made the process easy. At worst I would not qualify but if my loans were forgiven, I only had to pay a fee. Of course I took another chance and signed up again after NSDFC’s excellent work and honesty.Then I received the great news in May that my loans had been forgiven. Wow! My remaining $29,000 plus had been forgiven. I had been paying my loans since 2004 and I had resigned myself to pay until the day I retired from public service. NDSFC was vigilant and acted quickly to let me know about the change.I am so happy and proud that Local 237 looked out for its members on Student Loan Forgiveness and partnered with NSDFC. I never thought my loans would ever be forgiven and now here I am with my loans forgiven.
I started the process of getting my student loans under control in December with my local union. The webinar was stratight forward and I was looking for a knowledgable and reputable individual to assist me with loan forgiveness. Dylan was professional and helpful in the explanation of the process and the length of time it would take to have my previous payments counted as credits. Each step of the way I was provided an email to let me know that work was being done behind the scenes. I recieved several letters from the loan service provider within 60-90 days. In this most recent correspondance I learned that my loans were totally forgiven under the new stipulations within the PSLF program. I was estatic, and relieved ,it felt like a big ball of stress was lifted off of me. The entire process took abouteight months to complete.I am happy that I went ahead and took the necessary steps to become student loan debt free and I assure you that my mind is now at ease. The money spent for this service was a small price to pay which offered big results. If you are a public service worker and or educator please give Dylan a call, he can help you!
I learned about the loan forgiveness program early on, but did not think that I could be qualified because I was not a teacher. A few years later in 2015, I inquired about it, but my loan servicer told me that I was not eligible because my loans were not in the right plan; I was advised to consolidate so I can be part of the program, which I did immediately. A couple of years later, I heard that the UFT was holding a meeting on loan forgiveness programs; even though I was in the program, so I thought, I decided to attend; the more information the better I said to myself. As I was sitting there , listening, to my dismay, I realized that I was misled ,and that I was not enrolled in the program at all. By the end of the meeting, I made an appointment with one of the NSDFC representative to find out what could be done in my case. They went to work right away on my behalf; my loans were transferred to the right servicer ,and my monthly payment was reduced to an amount that I was able to afford., they also made sure that I received credit for the 3 years since consolidation They were always available, Emily was the best. I could contact the office any time I had questions or received a document from Fed Loan. We stayed in communication all through COVID, paying close attention to the loan forgiveness talk by the President.. Then one day in November of 2021 came the letter from FedLoan letting me know that after reviewing my records, my loans were forgiven, that I met the criteria of 10 years qualifying payments. It was one of the most joyous day of my life. I could not explain the relief I felt, all I was able to do was holding the letter and cried. I am so grateful for the assistance from NSDFC team, I would not be able to navigate the system by myself. Thank you so much, It was all worth it. I had 50k in student loans from Grad School that I had been paying $400 a month on for 20 years and it only brought my principle down to 48k. I had inquired about loan forgiveness plans the federal government was offering a few times over the years and was told by the loan servicer the first time that I didn’t qualify because I had taken an undergraduate loan before a qualifying year that I had not paid off yet. The second time I called and asked about my options they told me I did not qualify for loan forgiveness because I was a Guidance Counselor and only Teachers qualified and when I did internet research and pulled up the ACA (American Counseling Association) Site it also confirmed that Guidance Counselors were not eligible. My third attempt I requested the Public Service Loan Forgiveness forms be mailed to me and in the small print read that I would not be eligible due to counseling in a school not hospital or agency. The third time I asked I was told I was in the wrong loan repayment plan for 15 years and changing the plan would be more money a month so I gave up. When the UFT announced the free informational workshop on student loan forgiveness I decided to sign up even though I expected to hear that it would only apply to Teachers and not a Guidance Counselor. After the initial meeting when it was confirmed that my title was also eligible for loan forgiveness, I signed up for private consultation The National Student Debt Forgiveness Center and the process went smoothly from there. I was still very skeptical, but signed the agreement because the company was recommended by the UFT and there would not be a fee until the loan forgiveness process was complete. I am so glad that my skepticism did not prevail and I was able to trust the process. My loans have now been officially forgiven! I still cannot believe it! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Instead of living pay check to pay check I can now start investing the $400 a month student loan repayment money into emergency savings and retirement accounts so I can feel more financially secure and positive about what the future may bring!

I was blown away to learn that UFT’s Student Debt Relief Program was able to get my $62K plus in student loans waived.I made timely payments for over 20 years and I assumed my $40K loan would be forgiven eventually. (or so I was told) All my debt did was grow over the years and get handed to other loan companies thereby resetting the clock on any forgiveness timetable. (or so I was led to believe) It also became harder to pay as it grew.Just before the lock down in the fall of 2019 I received an email from my union suggesting that those interested in loan forgiveness take them up on their partnership with the National Student Debt Forgiveness Center (NSDFC.) I signed up for a Saturday morning online orientation and not long after began the process providing requested information and documentation. The NSDFC started counting up my payment credits and out of the blue I got an email saying that it was totally forgiven and to have a great life!My life has changed dramatically. My wife and our two babies were able to move from renting a studio apartment to purchasing a home. We can now live in dignity. More than that, this 20 year weight on my shoulders, that I feared would follow me to my grave, was lifted. There is a darkness that comes from feeling like a trapped animal in a cage constructed by late stage capitalism... the NSDFC was able to bring much needed light to an otherwise existential crisis. The UFT, having given their blessing to the NSDFC, gave this skeptic the much needed validation to give it a shot.Once I realized that the loan had been canceled, it was as though the sun had finally come out after a 20 year overcast day. I can not begin to describe the relief I felt when I received the congratulatory phone call from Anthony, my assigned Student Loan Consultant, with the news that my federal loans have been completely forgiven. My journey started 2 years ago, first with applying (successfully!!) for the teacher loan forgiveness program followed by Biden’s most recent federal student loan forgiveness program. Hi I am a NYC teacher working for the DOE. I was struggling to pay my student loans and found out about this program the UFT was offering. I was put in contact with Dylan who has been so helpful through this whole process. I literally just filled out a few pieces of paper and gave him some information. With that being said I was able to get 17,500 off of my loan due to working in a Title 1 school an was placed in the Loan Forgiveness Repayment Plan. I started this process in December and by March everything is complete. Dylan was so helpful and basically took over to do all of the work that I have no time to do. Of course, the big win at the end my contract with them was my student debt loan being forgiven and wiped out, however, I am here to let you know that before you reach that point, they are professional, diligent, supportive and responsive. Also, there was a slight hiccup along the way with the paperwork was filled out, specifically, the date on the application needed to be changed and such, and they fixed it immediately. Always get the run around when contacting student loans directly. Get send a whole bunch of documents without explaining options and/or providing guidance. This company really helped me a lot with my student loans. The representative who I worked with (Anthony) was extremely helpful, attentive, and professional. It took a while for my loan provider to forgive a sizable portion of my debt but in the end everything worked out in my favor. 2022-01-07I have now words to describe the professionalism and the good quality service I received working with Dylan Harris and Jackie Monaco. I am a teacher and I worked with them over a few months in applying for my student loan forgiveness. They did absolutely everything for me and all the application forms. I had only to answer few questions and sign the application forms. They were from the very beginning very responsive, knowledgeable about all ins and outs of the application process, and supportive. Dylan was very patient with me and confident I would get approved when I was not :) . My dream came through with them , few months later I got approved and got rid of my student debt that was a burden to me. Now I can move forward and start debt free:) . He helped me through various anxious moments when my original loan servicer employed scare tactics to get me to change my mind about moving through the process. 2022-03-04I am so satisfied with the help I received. I cannot recommend them any more ! My loan was forgiven so quickly. I dealt closely with Dylan Harris who was VERY knowledgeable on what I was supposed to do. He helped me step by step. I paid a small fee for them to do all the paper work and it was as completely worth it. I did not have to do much on my part at all and I am so thankful for that. It was worth it.
