Please be advised Yelp does not give the consumers honest information when looking for a good business. They select where and how they Place the reviews, they place the few old bad reviews on top and the current recent years five stars on the bottom, thus has less weight on the overall average Stars. YELP IS biased because, businesses get leads from Yelp, and they want them to pay for ads, so YELP can capitalize on the business, SO if the business opt. out, they use this tactic AGAINST them, there for the consumer will never know the Real ratings of a A GOOD BUSINESS... thats the fact...
I am always satisfied with Tracy doing my root touch ups. She does a great job blending the color. Aveda products does not damage the hair either. I sometimes pay the extra money to have the glaze and it leaves my hair shiny and healthy. If you are looking for a place to color your hair where it looks natural and does not damage the hair, I highly recommend this place. Consider treating your hair to a glaze as well.
Before I went to Natasha, I knew I wanted a new look but couldnt find someone who could do my hair the way I hoped. Until I went to Aveda Natural Look in Williamsburg! Natasha looked at the picture I showed her and did an even better job than I could’ve hoped for. She is amazing and really kind and professional and takes great care in her work! She takes her time and pays attention to detail and I love the style she does. I don’t go anywhere else now!
I have been going there for a while now. Connie, Natasha and Tracey and are very skilled and knowledgeable in their craft. They have all done my hair and quite honestly, that is a plus, because one of them is always at the salon at any given day of the week. I am always very happy and satisfied whenever I have my hair done at this salon. Prices are reasonable.
I’ve been going to #naturallookaveda since 2006 to do my hair. Back then they were at the Queens Center Mall. Natasha does my hair from haircut, color, highlights, to styling for the last 14 years. Nowadays I just closed my eyes and let her do her magic then voila. Highly recommend the salon and no I’m not getting any commission for this recommendation.
Walked in this afternoon, they were able to take me straight away. I can not recommend this place enough! Having just moved to New York and into the area I needed a salon i could go to while I’m here and am so grateful I found this salon. Natasha took my tired dry lifeless hair and gave me the best cut and colour I have had in so long! The hospitality of Natasha and her colleague were beyond commendable she gave me the look that took me to beyond my expectations, I’m so so happy with it. I cannot recommend this salon enough- what ever the service you will not be disappointed! Thank you so much team Aveda and see you again very soon xx
This is the worst salon experience I have ever EVER had. I was warned a couple of times by friends who knew people who had bad experiences and said they incentivize their customers for good reviews, and write their own glowing reviews, but I figured how bad could it be... it could be very bad.First the atmosphere - unlike other aveda salons, this place is mostly empty, looks like it hasn’t been kept up in years and the shouting of one of the stylist in a Long Island accent while talking about how much money and cars she has is grating to say the least. Even her customers were rolling their eyes. The coloring I received defies adequate description. My hair is fried and burnt looking. I’m afraid if I touch it too much it’ll break off in clumps as some already has. When the bleach was removed, no apologies were made, as if I requested the “burnt” look. I’m afraid to have it redone until it calms down a little as burnt hair is still better than no hair. It’s not that hard to set a timer, check strand development or ask for help from other stylists if you don’t know what you’re doing! If you like fried and broken hair, then this is the place for you. If not, then know that the other glowing reviews are fake - as I was warned they were and as they don’t have enough customers to substantiate that many positive reviews. The staff couldn’t be more disinterested in what they’re doing. Truly. It’s like they’re doing what they can to collect money and keep it moving with zero concern for the clients. There are several actual good and comparably priced salons in the area and in NYC. Use those, you’ll be happier and still have hair!!
Natasha is the best! Shes the first hairdresser Ive had who really listens to what I want as opposed to taking creative license. However, when she does make a suggestion, its always the right one. Shes a natural.I have been going to this Aveda for years- everyone is so nice & hospitable. Its wonderful to have a local spot that always fits you in at the last moment. I just wish they did nails as well.
Came here a year ago when I first moved to NYC. Natasha sat me down and took a quick glance at the photos I had brought in. It made me a bit nervous that she didn’t really take a look at what I had wanted. When she was finished I was absolutely floored. Not only was the color exactly what I wanted but the hairstyle was everything I had pictured. I don’t think I have ever walked out of a hair salon truly satisfied with my hair before going to her. I felt like a million bucks walking down the sidewalk! She not only gave me healthy, radiant hair, she gave me a new confidence and I will always go back to her. Cheers to the first time I went home and didn’t immediately wash and restyle my hair! 🖤
I had a really bad experience here. The hairdresser didn’t listen to me about my part and left me with what I would call a “90’s mom” haircut with a massive chunk of my hair on one side not matching the other. I wasn’t happy when I left but went home and gave it some time. After a week of struggling with my hair everyday, I called up to complain. The manager told me to come in and I did, she was rude to me and basically yelled at me that she thought it looked great. They offered to recut, but I wasn’t comfortable letting them touch my hair again, given they wouldn’t listen to me. This was a few months ago and it has taken several cuts with a new hairdresser to correct it.
Nothing natural about the Natural salon!!!!! Amazing cut. Blotchy color.I requested baliage but was told I needed a full head of highlights. First, my hair texture is ruined; so fried and frizzy to the point I’m afraid to wash like my usual daily routine and it looks so unhealthy. Even after returning to touch up bleached out spots around my crown, I cannot pull back my hair into a bun without seeing literal spots of bleach. So disappointed. PLEASE go somewhere else specialized in color!!!!!
I went here about two years ago for a cut and got some products that I absolutely adored lately I’ve been jonesing for these products and since the salon isn’t far I figured I would stop by to pick them up. Upon arrival I thought they were closed but then realized they weren’t so I went in and was browsing the products. The gentlemen in the store was anything but welcoming, he rudely asked what I wanted offered little to no knowledge of the products. Truthfully I feel like I was racially profiled as if I couldn’t afford the Salon or something. Regardless they are not getting my money and such a shame aveda should check this salon cause they are tarnishing the name.
I came in about a month ago for a trim & single process. Ive worked in a salon so I have a good idea of what I want when Im in the chair. My stylist was very kind, but I walked out feeling unsatisfied. My layers didnt blend well and the color didnt come out exactly how I wanted. It was fairly priced and clean, but due to the competition in the area, I wont be returning.
Terrible. When I called to complain the owner called me back and started screaming at me and threatening me!!They could have just made it better by offering to fix my hair but instead they threatened me?!! Both on voicemail and over the phone in person!! If I could upload the voicemail I would.Simply unbelievable!I will make sure this is known in every way possible, in every forum and by every other salon and salon goer in the city!!
Came here because they advertised a $40 mens cut; Im an androgynous person with a very short bowlcut, mostly buzzed, and I wanted to get the back/sides buzzed to get rid of the bowl. I told them this, showed a pic, and requested to have it dry-cut. The stylist totally steamrolled over these requests, shampooed me, cut the way she wanted, announcing she wanted to keep it feminine, left the bowl, and charged me $70.
These ladies were very, very nice. They were friendly and understanding of me bringing my baby to my hair appointment.I went there for a cut and color.I wanted bangs with some gentle layers. For color I wanted them to do my roots and add a few highlights. My hair is brown. I explained that I did not want blonde highlights, just something well blended and close to my natural color. I specifically said no blonde chunks. I brought pictures.350 dollars later I have brassy *red* hair with large blonde chunks. To make matters worse, the cut she gave me was The Rachel. To be fair, the bangs did turn out well; I wont have to get those fixed. When I went in, my hair was a mess. Bad roots, bits of it falling out (post pregnancy hair) so I thought there was no where to go but up. I was wrong.I left looking like a 90s throwback housewife from Long Island. I have never come so close to crying over a haircut/color in my adult life. All I need is a French manicure and my name around my neck.
The cut was cute, but gave me the worst balayage Ive ever gotten. She didnt paint at all, but just did a horizontal stroke all across my hair, so it looks unnatural and sloppy. The tone was too far off my hair so it looks so cheap and bad. She also kept me there for four hours, while she juggled another person instead of just making me come back on an appointment. Such a disappointment- too expensive and poor job.
It was my first time visiting the site only by name (Aveda), their product is excellent, but the manager was not professional in her work, she left a bad impression on me! Since it took more than 45 minutes and every moment he stopped to go answer calls and serve other clients. nota is selling free samples of the aveda product. since they are samples that say back in small letters, no sale to the public, postscript I forgot to take a photo of the products

2022-04-10Connie gave me the most beautiful layers I’ve ever had! Her cuts are a work of art. I love when she washes my hair and massages my head. The smell of Aveda products are heavenly. Highly recommend! My forever go-to hair salon.

2022-03-27I want to start by saying I’ve NEVER left a bad review anywhere. I think it’s tacky and just refrain from it. However, this hair cut and color nearly had me in tears. I went in yesterday, for a fresh color to have today on my birthday. I showed the stylist photos of my hair before, along with all the color codes, and told her to trim as little as possible off. She told me she didn’t recognize any of the color codes, and after a moment seemed to just know exactly what I wanted and what to do. Naturally, as it’s an Aveda salon, I trusted her. I like the natural blonde look. When she took my foils out it was WHITE. Like truly white. I anxiously waited for it to dry, knowing sometimes it all comes together then. She did not blend the highlights down - so mind you this color is so clearly JUST at the top of my head. While cutting my hair, she took off what was multiple inches, I’d say probably 4 if I had to guess. I wanted no more than one inch off. The cut would not have bothered me if the color was what I wanted. Throughout the process I would mention “ wow that seems really light “ or “ okay I think we can stop adding layers now!” And she didn’t listen to me but continued to assure me. For someone like me who doesn’t like to be mean and trust professionals, I continued to let her give her ‘ expertise ‘. Instead of long blonde and natural - I got hair that I could only describe as my mothers. This hair color is GREY. The gloss, she decided would be better ashy. Normally when I get this, it’s for the slightest hue. However I will just let the pictures speak for themselves. I am so devastated I trusted this place, and am now having to attend my 28th birthday party literally looking like a 48 year old. I wouldn’t have gotten this hair color if someone gave to me FREE, let alone the fact that the total came to $500. The photo of me in the blue dress is how I’ve always had my hair. The rest - well you’ll see the white. I can’t say enough how disappointed and devastated I was walking out of that salon. I couldn’t get out fast enough and that seemed prettyyyy clear… though she then continued to ask to take pictures and tell me “ this is what so many girls want “. Maybe so, but not me. And it certainly was not what I asked for. It’s blotchy, not blended, white and ashy. I am now scrambling to find another place that can fix it this morning before my party ( which is highly unlikely ). Unless you’ve been a repeat client here, I would not suggest making this salon your new salon.

2022-06-13I don’t usually write reviews because I understand how hard it is for small business owners and I support entrepreneurs. But the treatment I had with Natasha is one of the worst experiences I have had at a salon. DO NOT GO!!! Especially if you are a woman of color or an ally or if you have curly hair. I’m sorry to write this, but people should know that it is racist here and not safe. Shaming people about their hair is not done in 2022 esp while getting an expensive treatment. She tried to tell me I needed a keratin after I explained to her several times that I tried it twice and I didn’t want it. Then she said she didn’t have time to finish after doing the color and wash. I have never left a salon with my hair half done. This is inexcusable. A wet messy bun is something I shouldn’t have to pay for. I’m sorry Natasha, if you don’t want to do hair, you’re in the wrong industry.

2022-03-28My best friend went here for her birthday and they completely messed up her hair. she wanted a natural blonde and they gave her a white / ashy look. being models this has a big impact on our career. she went in the next day to talk to someone and the owner literally attacked her. she never apologized, told her she was WRONG, that the color was exactly what she wanted, and yelled to take it up with her credit card company. she didn’t even want money back she just wanted an apology and the owner went OFF. unhinged owner with the worst professional / client facing skills i have ever seen. DO NOT GO HERE. they will mess up your hair and tell you it’s your fault. HORRIBLE. We both informed our agency so no other girls go to this salon. 0 stars in every way.

2021-03-12Always have top notch service with Tracy!! I’ve been a loyal customer of hers for going on 23 years! When she moved from Queens Aveda to Brooklyn, I followed her. Never once did she not listen to my concerns or try to convince me to do something I wasn’t positive about. My haircuts and highlights for twenty+ years have been exactly what I asked for. I recommend my friends to her and clients looking for a new hair dresser. Aveda is also meticulous and staff is professional!

2019-02-21Natasha has been my color & cut stylist for years and ALWAYS does a 5 star job. I have a lot of hair so thinning it is essential so that my style works, and doesnt just hang there looking heavy, or in my face. And, my hair color gets compliments all the time! You couldnt pay me to go to anyone else. Also, really nice group of talented people in this salon. Very comfortable environment that makes you feel genuinely welcomed with the Aveda touch. I always feel relaxed, not rushed & take advantage of their awesome tea !

2019-12-18I cannot say enough about this place!! I’ve been coming here for years now, and it truly is a perfect experience.Connie, the owner, is the sweetest woman I know, and she is INCREDIBLY talented. She treats her profession like an art and cuts with an absurd amount of focus and attention to detail. I always leave 100% satisfied, and I honestly cannot bare to be cut by anyone else after going to her. She’s also very personable, and easy to have a conversation with (she also doesn’t mind when I fall asleep in the chair 😂). I trust her completely and she has never failed to deliver. I recommend her 100000000% for male haircuts. The rest of the staff is also great, and the shampooing is a special experience. Ridiculously relaxing.Come here if you haven’t already!!

2020-10-10Today was my third visit to this salon and the second since COVID. Every service has been amazing. My stylist Natasha and Ashley are great. Very knowledgeable with great end results. Both my color and cut have been amazing at this AVEDA salon. I highly recommend and the prices are pretty reasonable compared to other local salons. The only thing that I would recommend is that they put a better antibacterial hand soap in the bathroom and keep it a little tidier. High end salons should not have 0.99 cent hand soap and no paper towels.
