Excellent food and roomy restaurant. Other side of the establishment has a good mix of groceries as well as fresh Halal meat. Restaurant has half portions available and exotic drink selections from the fridge. Pictured is the lamb adnan kebab as well as a chicken adnan kebab. On the side is an eggplant mix with tomato sauce, peppers and onion. The bread, which comes with the entrees is vastly improved from say 5 years ago. Crisp outside, soft inside with poppy seeds on top.
We have been coming to this place for over 4 years now. Food quality is always consistent. Love their lentil soup and their Doner/Gyro platter with white rice. On our most recent dine-in we tried their Kunefe dessert which takes 10 mins to prepare. It was truly worth the wait. Not overly sweet. Just perfect. Only odd thing is that you eat at the cafe but pay at the market for your meal. Never experienced this anywhere else.
These rude and incompetent buffoons gave all my food for a large party to someone else and then their counter guy gets angry at me for expecting my order and not just leaving without a fuss the instant they told me they made the boneheaded mistake. The absolute nerve of these people is astounding. Used to spend hundreds of dollars here every summer for our barbecues and groceries, will never be back here again and neither will anyone we know. Weve thankfully found another place weve been going too near the area thats happy to provide better service instead of yeah we gave your order to someone else and were not going to do anything to figure this out for you, goodbye
Great Food but the portions are relatively small for the price.I ordered the Mix Kebab platter with and assortment of Adana kebabs.Food was extremely juicy and delicious. But unfortunately was still hungry afterwards. If I had known about the quantity I would’ve ordered prolly one more. But overall it was good good.
Ladies are polite but some of Those guys in the kitchen are rude and stingy, they wont give you 5 minutes to let you finish the food. We ordered food at 8:20 pm and I told them we will be done eating in 15 minutes once food is served. Food was served ant 8:34. The guy repeats rudely, we have to close finish it before 9 I said nothing. 10 minutes later I asked for extra sauce the made faces like I have asked for Rishta. someone else yells from the kitchen finish before 9 we have to closeAt q:50 again someone passes by and repeats. 2 stars are for the food.
Ive had enough authentic Turkish food to be able to judge the quality of a restaurant like this, and they give tremendous value. Other places have much inferior food (to the point where Im asking this is Turkish food? Are you sure?) and charge ridiculous process for it. Here the food always tastes right and wont break the bank. The people running the place are always super friendly and accommodating. For any vegetarians out there who dont know, traditional Turkish cuisine offers a lot of options, so this is definitely a place to check out.
Excellent Turkish food. Their lahmojin is superb. This restaurant is a bit pricey but not as much as other Turkish restaurants in the city. Seating area is decent, nothing fancy. Their service has declined over the years. Was too slow the last time we were there back in December. Their baklava is a must try. I almost ate half a dozen. Very fresh and tasty. Authentic taste. The real deal. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Paid $42 for a meal then they charged me .50 per a cup of white sauce. This is after I drove home to find none in the bag and then driving back home to cold food. Either include the white sauce in cost so Im not left scrambling back or tell me in advance. Just not good customer service experience.
I love Turkish food and this is really good. I had the Mixed Grill and it was absolutely delicious (it was a little expensive). It came with a salad and bread.Another reviewer aid there was no bathroom, there is a bathroom. It is clean and fragrant. I was going to give them a 4 before but I asked if they had a bathroom and was pleasantly surprised. The bathroom, the food the friendly service makes it great.
Went here for an iftar during Ramadan. The service was quick and painless and more importantly, the food was good and satisfied my hunger for the day. That being said, it was sorta a letdown. The reason being, I had heard tons of friends and family members sing praises that this is some sort of holy grail of halal fast food. Seriously some people wouldn’t shut up about it and I heard stuff like “it’s the best halal food in NY” and “it’s the gyro of your dreams”. Let’s be real- the food is good and on par with most halal fast food joints of today, however it’s not amazing by any means. If you’ve been to more than 5 halal restaurants in your life, you’d know what I mean. In Suffolk county it may be unique and special, but in Queens, Brooklyn & Nassau it’s just your average halal fast food place to grab a quick bite. Nothing more, nothing less. That’s not to degrade it and say it’s not good. Also, it’s mostly for takeout but they do have an ample amount of seating. It’s not super congested. Like 4-5 families of four can sit and eat at once. Enjoy!
I like this place! They provide awesome dishes, their menu is nice, The cook in that restaurant is a professional, I love very much eating all their dishes. The dishes are consistently fresh, the attitude towards the visitors is good. I often eat in this restaurant and I was never unsatisfied. I recommend it to all.
We arrived at this spot for lunch. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was very successful. The staff members were extremely nice and we felt fantastic. The meal was fresh and delicious. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. We recommend this place to all.
I like the food. The salads at this restaurant are my favorite. Specially Hayderi. The food is non-spicy but has so much flavor. The kebabs are good. They have nice sitting arrangements. The restaurant also has a small grocery section with a small pickle and olives bar and small section for buying meat.
Ive eaten at alot of turkish restaurants and this by far beats them all in terms of food quality and taste. The food always feels like its home cooked and they are not extravagant. The atmosphere and restaurant is very ordinary and simple and the food is amazing, a great combination.
Great Turkish cuisines.Visit this place regularly and always enjoy the quality of the food. Food is as authentic as you can get from outside Turkey. Whenever I am in Long Island, I stop by here. Complimentary tea is really nice end to the great meal they provide. Staffs are all very friendly.
Were not Turkish, but GF and I love all the tasty Turkish food here borh to go or (after Covid) to eat in. The always free strong Turkish tea and hot water to dilute to tastesis a huge plus. Not a fancy place at all but the food is well worth stopping by. And in the market next door you can get many hard to find ingredients to take home.
Love this ethnic gem. It’s a two sided store. One side has Turkish groceries including spices, teas and olives among other things such as frozen foods and sweets. The other side is a casual Turkish restaurant and prepared food store. Very tasty! All employees are helpful and polite. I’ll be going back many times.
Food is just simply awesome. I got confused with the menu as they have different types of meat dishes and ended up ordering the wrong food. But when I called back they gave me what I ordered plus what I actually wanted and they didn’t charge extra. They just wanted to do the right thing. You don’t see establishment with the human touch anymore but this place has that touch. So don’t hesitate to give this place a try. Food is full of flavors.
Best Turkish cuisine for miles around. Food is fresh, quick and hearty. Try their pizza version made with lamb, or their hummus (watch out if you are garlic sensitive) and anything grilled here is a flavor explosion from the kebabs to the kofte. Americans looking for something different, like grilled meats? Give it a go; even their rice pilaf is mouthwatering. Bottom line: if you go once, you will be back again.
On 27th May 2018 (Sunday) I visited this place with my friends as it is one of my favorite restaurant and I like the food. I reached this place around 9 PM and restaurant closes at 10 PM. The guy probably owner refused take the order for sitting dinner as they close at 10 PM. His justification was that he will take 20 to 25 minutes to serve the order, at 9:40 PM they will start cleaning the tables and we will have to leave at 9:40 PM. I felt it is a lame excuse to refuse taking order, probably did not like us.
Easy to see right off of Deer Park Avenue servicing Deer Park and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Small parking lot. Grocery store is also attached where you can buy Turkish canned goods, sweets, and Halal Meats. Moderately clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. We will most likely be going back.
The food here is always amazing It can get a bit crowded but you never wait too long. they dont serve the food here you just order up up front and you pick it up yourself. Its not like a typical restaurant where theres a waiter, It goes a bit faster and usually doesnt mess up your order
A awesome no frills Turkish / Mediterranean place that could easily charge more for their quality of food.To start we had the haydari (yogurt dip) and diced spiced mix vegetables (dip like) with fresh hot bread. Very good!Thoroughly enjoyed their kofta kebab and chicken kofta kebab. The chicken kebab has a bit more flavor as it seems its spiced more than the beef kofta, also spicier in terms of heat as well.I also tried my brothers Adana dish and it was fantastic! I normally do not like lamb but I would order this dish again. He also got the meat pizza and it was also very good as well.Would recommend brown rice over the white rice. Both are good but I think the brown rice was better.Drink selection was extensive and we had traditonal ayran (yogurt drink) and mango juice. Both great! If your not sure whether or not to come here, rest assured you will not be disappointed. My brother has been trying to take me for awhile and Im glad I finally went. Will be a weekly spot of mine now!!!!
Got a good case of food poisoning after eating a lahmacun. Should have listened to wife, who refused to eat here after getting some random food from the grocery section (hazlenut and dates) and finding it rotten/moldy after opening at home...Shame. Used to come here on occasion, but after being sick all night and missing work, not going to chance it again.
It is a very nice market and reataurant. They do carry Turkish products for those who are interested. I tried mixed gril and hummus. The hummus with that bread is another story. However. The rice was a little bit oily and the shreded meat had no taste at all. Nevertheless, i enjoyed the meat kabab and chop.
Horrible gyro since new owner taste like cheap push kart gyro that’s not Turkish dorma chicken kebab raw food cold have been going there for years for there gyro. No more they lost me and lots of my friends and family I no longer recommend this place food is horrible good luck to them with cheap meat and cheap gyro there using
The food is great, freshly made and quite tasty! THE hummus is outa this world! The baba ganoush is a Smokey treat! Todays lentil soup was warming, tasty, and filling! There are many Turkish products and groceries available! The 2 ladies who worked with me were helping, and delightful!
I really love the food at nazar. Im always looking for Mediterranean food thats local to me and I came across this gem. Its Halal food, which means the meat is prepared according to Islamic law where the animal is not subjected to suffering before slaughtered. I ordered the chicken kebab which was ridiculously good. It came with white rice, a side salad, and a huge piece of house baked fresh bread all for $10!!!! I also had something called lamajune, I hope I spelled it correctly but its like a Turkish pizza topped with fresh vegetables with a super thin crust, also very good. They offered me some tea on the house which was a plus on such a cold night. It is also attached to their own butcher shop and grocery store, no wonder everything tasted so fresh! There is plenty of parking and easily accessible right on Deer Park Avenue. The crew behind the counter was very polite and happily answered all my questions regarding the food. I will definitely be back with some friends.
I been ordering here plenty of times today was the worse service ever I had order lamb chunks with yellow rice they gave me lamb chops and the guy is standing there arguing with me he goes to the back and comes back out and says do you lamb chops I told him no and he was like okay Im closing the grill worst service ever never been so disappointed in my life they dont treat the coustomer with respect at all out of kindness he could of said oh my mistake let me fix your order but no he didnt was rude and disrespectful I recommend not going here any more food is great but when they make a mistake its basically the coustomer a fault not theirs

2022-06-24The restaurant in Lahmacun is far from what it should be. The meat quality of Adana dish is also bad.

2020-04-10This is the best Turkish restaurant on Long Island. They are very generous with their portions and use lamb instead of chicken or beef. Food is delicious and you get free Turkish tea. They also have reasonably priced groceries and meats. The staff is friendly and fast. I have been going there for the last 5 years and never had any negative experience so far. Highly recommended for the authentic Turkish food.

2020-01-09Food is so tasty, the portions are quite large and its a great value! Their babaganush is out of this WORLD and I am so impressed by it. We love their stuffed grape leaves as well. This is the place to eat if you are in the area. We love Nazar. They also have a store on the side of their restaurant if you want to take DELICIOUS fresh baked baklava /packaged goodies home.

2022-02-19Girls at the cashier are polite but their Halal meat is pricey compared to other local Halal meat stores. The meat most likely comes from restaurant depot, frozen from Australia, and pre-packed so it’s not real butcher meat, cut directly from the animal. I never tasted their restaurant food so I can’l comment on that.
