I found a nemo tile sample at my local flooring store which drew me to their website. (volcano nero). ive been surfing the web now for more than a month in preparation for a bathroom renovation. so far no site has come even close in terms of beauty, variety, uniqueness--and classiness. samples were sent quickly too. the next time i go to nyc, i want to go visit the tiles in person, like a museum (even though I will already have made my tile choice)
The displays are well conceived and realized. An abundance of tiles are installed on walls and floors. In addition, samples can be viewed on special shelves and racks. During one visit I met Mat, one of the owners, who listened to my thoughts for new bathroom tiles and showed me several styles that could work. He gave me samples so I could decide at home. My only complaint is that sometimes sales people are on the floor, busily typing at their desks, and dont respond to walk-ins.
Nice selection of imported European tiles, which means I dont have to pay crazy shipping to get them. Also they give tile samples to take home free of charge.
If you want high-end tile for your home, building, hotel, subway station or anything in between, check out this family run business with a long history of delivering quality goods. They have tile that looks like tile, wood, bamboo, or printed marble. The showroom is worth a visit alone (and when you find the bamboo tile weave, touch it, it feels awesome.)
I stopped in here on a neighborhood tour and its not often that a business has been around for nearly 100 years and still maintains a huge presence in NYC. Huge selection of tiles and materials of all kind, including HD printed pieces at all price ranges. Impressive showroom that has vignettes of bathroom setups and a wall of never-ending tiles.
Nemo Tile has a great selection of tile. I worked with Stefanie. She was professional, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Not to mention patient!.
The telephone greeting sounds like it had been recorded by a dead person. As of 3:30 pm, store closing at 4pm, I cannot get anyone on the phone matter what prompt. In-person, they are not much better. Always have to beg for help. This place needs to get their priorities in order.

They have a great selection at a range of price points, most of them very reasonable. The staff is very helpful and given you your space to chat and think.

2022-03-08A rude, useless, lazy staff unfortunately ruins this store with a pretty nice selection. Expect to be ignored for a half hour or so, then rudely informed that you have to sign in to be helped (as if this standard procedure at all stores). The help you will get will show how irritated everyone working there is, even the managers. Any follow up after leaving the store (e.g. requests for samples) will be ignored for weeks if there is any response at all. Dont expect any apologies for the delay; theyll just be bothered to have to talk to you at all.

2020-08-17I am not in the state of New York so everything was done over the phone and email. Everything went smooth. Sample was received on time and so was shipment once the order was made. But here is the tile that was installed. I understand it can be slightly off but this is a pretty noticeable and looks very different. You are only given 24 hours after delivery to inspect your tile or forget it. Nothing. My tile was Installed about a month after delivery because it was a new home being built. I was not dealing with a contractor so I waited until installation day to open.

2019-12-30I just had an amazing experience at Nemo. Yssa spent the time necessary for me to work through all the problems that come with mixing and matching tiles with other architectural elements. She knows the products, their applications and uses her artist eye to help with color. I cant wait to see the final product!

Henry came within an hour of the call and he did an amazing job! I cant express enough, how pleased I was with the service from the beginning to the need. The carpet was well shampooed and wash!

2018-06-29Been there twice to pick tiles for my bathroom rehab. The staff are the best Ive ever met. Ive been to maybe a dozen places in the Bronx and New Jersey to look at Tiles. Their showroom setup is spectacular with actual installed examples of the Styles and a very neat pull out system for viewing tiles... and also large holdable samples so you can view the tiles close up. They do nothing but tiles so theyre not trying to sell you anything else. Will definitely purchase my tiles from them. Their prices are not much more than the discount places Ive been to outside the city.

2018-11-14I purchased some white carrera tiles for my powder room remodeling and the quality was better than expected. I got pretty used to buying marble tiles from home depot which sell marble tile that does not match in shades. Nemo tiles marble all match in shade and came from the same batch. It makes a huge difference in look and adds more elegance and quality. Nemo tile is the way to go.

2019-05-31Nemo Tile is a bit of an enigma. When you walk in and see the all the high end tile on the walls for sale youll probably think Restoration Hardware, which is understandable, but they are so much more. Nemos roots are tied to building contractors, so in essence they are really a supply house that happens to have an awesome showroom right off Park Ave in NYC. I had a BIG problem with a paid order that stock was not available when the pick-up was scheduled. A tough dilemma for me as a customer, but Gary Beltre, the manager of the 21st St location bent himself into a pretzel to make things right for me. He worked hard to: a) make my wife happy w/ a new tile that was stocked b) make the price work for us c) moved quick enough to keep our contractors schedule from getting screwed. THIS is why Ive been using Nemo Tile for 20 years and will continue to be a loyal customer for them. Very recommended store!
