Aladdin was always my fav movie/cartoon of all time. So coming here to see Aladdin played by these talented people was the best new years gift I could have given to myself. Staff were all friendly and professional. any seat in this theatre I swear was a good seat. if you are in NYC and you want to watch a broadway show I recommend Alladin 100%%%
Beautiful Theater located in the Times Square Area on W 42nd Street NYC. This theater currently playing Aladdin Musical. Box Office is located on the right side of theater entrance. Theres a good amount of antique museum items on display from photos, costumes and accessories within the theater before bathroom entrance next to bar waiting area and hallway entrance. I sat in Mezzanine area last row GG right side and had an excellent view of stage performance.
Such a beautiful theater!! I went to see Aladdin and the ambience of the theater really added to the magical experience of seeing a Disney classic on Broadway. The theater was clean and staff were kind, professional and efficient. The seats were comfortable with slightly more leg room than I expected. I sat in Orch Right, 5th row and had a wonderful view of the stage. Definitely recommend the theater and the show!
Small theater, seats very close together, but impressive performance from Aladdin show that I went to see. I sat at the mezzanine and could see the platform of the theater, they have escape hatches to use for tricks for the play, so its a lot of fun watching a performance. The ushers were very friendly. Really nice theater.
The New Amsterdam Theater is a beautiful Broadway theater located in Times Square 42nd street of the Theater District of Manhattan, New York.In November of 2021, I brought and treated my wife and myself to watch “Aladdin:The Musical” a highly entertaining Broadway show at the New Amsterdam Theater.Built in 1902-1903, and designed by Herts & Tallant, the New Amsterdam Theater is operated by Disney Theatrical Productions and has been home to Aladdin: The Musical since 2014.Both my wife and I admired the theater’s Beaux Arts exterior and were deeply impressed with the Art Nouveau interior decor. We loved our comfortable seating and were happy with our views of the stage. All in all, we both enjoyed our experience at the New Amsterdam Theater!!!
CowBOY Duck visited here.1st hello... Its 2022 why people need to wait outside in so long line? ....2nd Why there are paper tickets to most of the people? And it seems that in the corona time you didnt fix all you broken chairs... There are a lot of them in rows gg-pp.And the last thing in 2022... You will lose your fight of filming... Please stop jumping on every kid that take a photo.Hope you will Do a big change in the way you give us a service... Again this is 2022.Maybe its time to go to Orlando and leren form them a few things about lines... Digital... And filim limitations.Good lack.P.sBoth photos were taken after promition.
Show is great 👍 actors are good sound is good. Really a fun times and fun show to see! Would definitely recommend. Now related to the 3 stars, a beer can for 16$ is extortion. Its the price of 24 pack anywhere. The queue was real long at intermission and not very well managed. The seats are small and not very comfortable.Probably cashing In on the show amd investing as little as possible on things around while overcharging the people for food and beverage. My advice : drink and eat before the show 😋
My family came from Baltimore MD to see the Broadway show Aladdin. This show was amazing 10/10. Although everyone did an excellent job , the Genie definitely gave his all and was amazing. What an awesome show, the only down fall was the seating was very tight. Overall 100 percent worth it.
The play was excellent and the actors were fenomenal. I didnt mind sitting in the balcony, the view was still pretty good. My only complaint was they are not staffed and set-up for the amount of people that fit in the balcony when it comes to concessions. I would definitely go back!
The show and experience was spectacular. However the seats and space for your legs remind me of a low budget airline.I am 5.7 foot/176 cm and even though I had booked the most expensive seat category, the seats just werent comfortable. The view, the sound and the performance though, were magical!
This review is independent from any shows going on there. The location was Okay, but the seats were less then comfortable. Im not the smallest person, and was sitting next to my kids (very small people yet) and was uncomfortable the whole time. it took away from the show tbh.bathroom was down basically all the stairs. Trying not to be nit-picky but yeah... thats what I remember from the visit so. Yeah saw cool show but the seats hurt
Watched Aladdin tonight. Great show, amazing actings. The venue itself is terrible. The seats are extremely small and my legs were cramped the entire show. The prices at concession are unbelievably expensive. I expect to pay more but I was charged $98.00 for two double vodkas, a pack of m&Ms, sour patch kids and a Kind Bar. Unreal price gouging. They have a lot of work to do!
Gives off very old but classic vibes. EXPENSIVE AF. I got a nosebleed seat (all the way in the back) and paid 80 for it. But the show is worth it. Even if your in the back you have a good view. Don’t expect to switch seats to an empty one. Because when I tell you that EVERY SINGLE SEAT is TAKEN. Nothing if left alone. I would come back.
We saw Aladdin in this theatre recently. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are split men and women on opposite sides of the lowest level, separated by a common area. There is also a subway station directly next to this theatre so it was easy to arrive and leave if you have no interest in the rest of the area.

Its a very pretty theatre, however not the most practical. We were in the seats on the balcony on the left hand side and they have this odd lean to them. There are also lots of stairs, even if youre able bodied, it will give you a decent workout to get to the top. On top of that, the toilets are in the basement, so even more of a climb to get back up.The staff are wonderful and very nice. They are also very reactive to any disturbances, shining torches on people talking or using their phones. This can be distracting to the other users, however this is standard practice for most theatres Ive been in.The theatre also provide cushions to the little ones to allow them to see the performance better. All in, if youre going to go, I would recommend you sit as center as you can to avoid the seats that lean and also would suggest only going for the balcony if your legs can take the many steps it takes to climb them.
I went to watch Aladdin here. I must say this was my second Broadway show, the first one was the Rockettes, excelente holiday show!!Anyway, Aladdin was fun, energetic, colorful, with great and lively choreography, exotic dances and performers and a beautiful story involved.I enjoyed this musical and will continue to explore more of Broadway shows ☺️
Went to watch Aladdin here last Friday, the seats are steep as are the stairs and there’s absolutely NO leg space. If someone in the middle enters late they disturb the entire row and those behind them- and the theatre allows this! If you have a tall person seated in front of you, there’s hardly anything you can see. I’ve been to Opera Garnier and Vienna Opera house as well as others and this is just unacceptable- but that’s capitalism at its best !
We went to see Aladdin! It was one of the best performances I have seen in a while. Very fun for all ages and well worth every penny. We actually went to the booth to buy tickets the day before and got a better price than anything online. Go to the bathrooms downstairs to see everything in this place. It is a blast!
A disappointing theater compared to so many others here in New York because the rows make it very easy for ones view to be partially blocked by the person sitting in front of you. In the case of Aladdin, thats not necessarily a bad thing, but when another show eventually comes in, it could be annoying.
The theatre itself is a work of art, While a trending a show there take a time to walk around the theatre and enjoy it! The Hall itself is so beautiful..Aladdin was a wonderful show! A whole new world indeed! So impressed by the how the crops have advanced worth every penny!
The magic carrpet was truly magical and the Genie made the show!! Excellent show that was entertaining and comical. We sat in the Mezzanine and just loved the seats. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also had a nice selection of snacks. The bathrooms were clean and the line moved fast and efficient during intermission.
Went to go see Aladdin & it was amazing. It was beautiful, funny & exciting. Highly recommend watching it. I arrived an 1hr early because I read that the lines get packed so Im glad I did. Bought a cute Aladdin teddy bear before the play started. The show is definitely worth watching. Especially with such beautiful architect around.
I have to say that the show is a little long the best part is the genie. The space is a little cramped, worse than cheap airlines and you feel everybody’s shoulders. Maybe a little bit disappointed because I expected more. It’s not for younger kids (at least 7-8 i would say)
I had watched the Aladin musical tour in Houston, so I was so excited to attend the broadway show. We were seated for the front seat (row A) for less than $120 per person. There are boosters for the kids, which made them very comfortable, and enjoyed the show to the maximum. Excellent artists, beautiful voices and great decorations. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and professional.
Its a really beautiful teather, we enjoyed Aladdin play, the space is great., highly recommend to buy tickets in Mezzanine, you will be able to see everything from there, the scenario, the lights, the effects! If you go a floor up, you might struggle and a floor down you might not see all the details of the play!Regarding Aladdin, great actors with beautiful voices, we loved the Genie role! He was playful and funny! We loved the engineering of the scenario to make us feel as real magic movements all over!Overall, you will enjoy it!
1st time a Broadway show, and the bar for me has been set high. Everything about Aladdin was amazing seeing the special effects live was better than any high tech movie graphics. The acting, story, and music were spectacular. Sat at the mezzanine section LL very good view.
This show shouldnt be classed as a broadway musical, more a back street pantomime. Never have I been left so disappointed after a show. I have seen many shows at different venues. This is definitely one to forget. The story negates too much from the original story. Too many cringy punchy one liners to get a laugh instead of actually telling the story. The genie was over the top, Jafar had little to no impact and iago was just plain annoying. A whole new world looked stunning and was the best part by far.I was really looking forward to this as Ive never seen a musical on Broadway before, and aladdin being a favourite disney film, but unfortunately this is definitely one to forget or avoid.
We saw Aladdin at the New Amsterdam theater. It was opened in 1903 and is billed as the oldest operating theater on Broadway. It is beautiful inside and the walls are covered in photos of stage actors throughout the ages. The theater is lovely to see and a tour is recommended.
Such a wonderful experience! Lines were long but quick. Staff were friendly, efficient, polite and helpful. They made sure the balcony attendees were aware of the short steps (be careful, theyre a doozy!) And walked us to our seats. There are several snack shops and restrooms. The ceiling is amazingly decorated. Definitely read up on the history of the bulding; youll be amazed. As far as seats go, youre going to want to sit in the mezz or floor levels. Balcony is harder to see everything going on and you see a lot more of the behind the scenes things (trap doors, set changing, etc.). But if youre into that, then the balcony is for you! I enjoyed being able to see it all and answer some of those how did they do that?! questions I always had.
Great place to go see a show on a hot day! Sound and lighting was excellent. Air conditioning was perfect on a 100 degree day.The style and decor of the theater is very impressive!Seats were fairly comfortable. Pretty close together like most theaters but enough space to not be on top of each other.
I cant remember if Ive been to this theater before but I just saw Aladdin and wanted to comment on my experience.First of all, the staff is top-notch, super friendly, and helpful. Box office, ushers, concessions... everyone was very nice.My bus arrived after the box office opened today so I was out of luck for rush tickets but decided to try to get standing room tickets at all the main shows anyway. I struck out for almost an hour until I got to this theater. The box office lady told me that New Amsterdam does not have a standing room section but that I could get an obstructed view seat for $67. I had just walked around in the snow for 45 min looking for tickets so this seemed like a good deal to me.I got Box 6 on the third balcony. There is a single seat in this section. Facing the stage this is on the right side. The stage is numbered with zero being the center and then counting by two out towards the left and right to 18. Obstructed in this case meant I could see all of the left side (0-18) but only 0-10 on the right side. I also could not see the area further back on the stage. For Aladdin, it seemed like a lot of things happened on the right that I could not see so that is unfortunate. I am familiar with the movie, though, so I knew exactly what was happening... But, it definitely isnt ideal and takes away from the experience. See my photo.. depending on your situation you may want to spend more for a better view.
Amazing! Went with my mother and 5 year old daughter. The music was phenomenal. The actor who played the genie was hilarious, the whole cast was great. Im planning to go again. If you are a fan of the movie, or Disney in general, you will love the play. It is different from the movie though so dont be surprised.
If you go to New York and want to see a Broadway show you cant go wrong with this one. Staff were friendly and professional and the venue was beautiful. The stage and set production were colorful and costumes changed too many times to count. Fun takes on the classic songs and the cast is great so it made for a very entertaining couple of hours.
Just amazing! Beautiful architecture from the 20s amazing theater that is still operating and fully restored by Disney. The Aladdin show was one of the best Ive seen and I would definitely go back to see more shows though thank you to crew cast and all who put on an amazing show.
We went and saw Aladdin on Broadway and I must say, we were not disappointed with the venue one bit. The show was amazing and the New Amsterdam Theater was everything that you would think it would be. Primitive, historic and just an absolutely beautiful work of art smack in the middle of downtown Manhattan! We loved it!
Absolutely gorgeous theater! Adequate bathrooms for the amount of patrons and a well trained staff who keep things flowing from check-in, seating, and purchase of souvenirs. Not having food or drink was disappointing but UNDERSTANDABLE due to covid. The seats are very tight which is an unfortunate reality in the older theaters but they were comfortable.
It’d been a while since I’d been to a broadway show, but Aladdin was definitely the right show to get back into it with. Iago and Genie were by far the best part of the show and overall it was just a great performance. If I had to complain about anything it would just be that I feel that Aladdin’s friends were just unnecessary and the ending felt a bit rushed l, but overall fantastic.
Very entertaining a plus we went again wednesday the 27th Feb. Wow new cast amazing experience we whent back stage on 41st and meet the cast . Some of them like the genie amd aladdin, jasmine and Omar. Jafari left *( we can go again and look for them in the future . This is an incredible play catch it before it goes away. Take your sons daughters friend sturgis is a magical carpet ride for everyone. They change the Aladdin we saw first telly lung but Helhalm its really hood hes the original and guwan the genie its amazing he sounds a little like mickey mouse lol . Arielle aka jazmine its really nice.
We saw Aladdin and it was perfect. Super delightful show and live music. I can’t explain the theatre itself. It was opened at 1903 and it’s still amazing. Interior design, acoustic and the history in it. You must come and see this place and if you’re like you’ll see the genie 🧞♂️
Clean, great staff, not a bad seat in the place !! Seats are small, but thats the same at every theater.VERY SAFE, they make sure everyone is wearing their mask for the show. Staff goes around and will reprimand and even escort out anyone who does not follow the rules !! Great experience!!
Great show, beautiful set. Genie and the magic carpet ride were the most memorable aspects. Aladdin’s voice was a little whiney, but his performance was great otherwise. The set was very surreal, but overall it felt true to the original cartoon movie. Last, Jasmine was flawless!
Absolutely beautiful theater. We really enjoyed Aladdin, and the ushers were very friendly and helpful. If you have a chance to see a broadway show, youd enjoy this one for sure.Near where the restrooms are, there is a beautiful domed room that youd really enjoy looking at and just being in. It kind of demands dignity in a sense, just an elegant dome. Thanks!
We watched our first ever broadway show here, Aladdin and loved it so much!! The show was spectacular. The songs, the dance, the costumes, everything was brilliant. The theater in itself gives a very old world charm. Only if there was more legroom, otherwise its perfect!
Awesome place to see musicals the sound is amazing, and you cans see pretty good from anywhere inside. Comfortable seats. The lights are on point. Go and enjoy a awesome time. I went to the Aladin musical and was amazing, a thing to remember. The singing, acting, and production were on point. I hope for you guys to enjoy it for yourselfs.
Beautiful avenue great show but the guy who was seating us was extremely rude non stop lighting at peoples face and shouting during the show.Otherwise very niceIts just a pity how much one persons bad behavior can affect such a beautiful experience...But thank you for the rest of the staff and for the artists and the avenue.
Mezzanine AA seats 9 and 11.We were super excited to see the Broadway showing of Aladdin! The New Amsterdam Theatre did not disappoint! The interior design of the Theatre is immaculate. The artwork and woodwork is breathtaking with detail portraits and massive overhead carvings.Doors open 30mins before the start of the show, there really isnt a need to arrive super early since you reserve your actual seat. The seats are tightly packed with little leg room. I sat in the front row in the Mezzanine so my view was fantastic. The only downside is that my date, who is significantly shorter than myself, had the metal rail obstruct part of her view if she was not leaning forward. The sound quality is 10 out of 10. To be expected. The stage is a mechanical work of art. The stage design is nothing short of magical, 10 out of 10. The props and lighting were spectacular! They really brought each scene to life! 10 out of 10. Choreography, sublime and nearly overwhelming. When the stage is filled I dont know where to look! The action is flowing so quickly, I was scared to blink! 12 out of 10! Bonus points because every performer had giant smiles! I also loved the level of detail to each performer when onstage, from their body language to the look on their faces! My favorite part of being so close to the stage, is to see the performers facial expressions!Shout out to Michael James Scott(Genie) and Jonathan Freeman(Iago), those two stole the show! IMHOThe staff escorting you to your seats and the few working the consession stands were friendly and helpful(espically given the sheer number of people needing their attention).I would 100% reccomend everyone to see a Broadway Performance. Aladdin was my first broadway show and it is one my childhood favorite Disney stories.Thank you New Amsterdam Theatre for making this experience one Ill remember for the rest of my days!
We came in here on a Saturday afternoon for the 2 PM show and as expected the place was packed. We had a smooth check in and had a great view from our seats on Mezzanine. And the show, Aladdin was just magical! The setup, wardrobe and performance - everything was spot on. Each of the actors did an amazing job especially Genie. Really worth a visit!

2022-04-13Terrific show! I highly recommend seeing them. There was a technical difficulty halfway through the show that caused a 15-minute pause. However, the entire cast did a great job of continuing once everything was fixed. Getting to our seats was easy and they enforced guests to wear masks and checked for vaccine proof which I loved! I felt welcomed, safe and enjoyed the entire experience.

2022-09-17The oldest operating theater on Broadway is fairly gorgeous on the inside. It made me very happy to find out its story and learn about its restoration; it would have been a pity for such an architectural jewel to be lost. It’s not the home of Aladdin, and I was as engaged with the show as I was with its home theater. Beautiful mix!

2022-01-25The Amsterdam theater is an architectural work, its balconies and stage are from dreams, the phenomenal and comfortable seats, the entire team from the ticket sales to the person who helps you locate your position is incredible. Aladdin I have no words to describe how wonderful they made me feel, everything was magical, well done, the actors a standing ovation for them, they are hard of the theater. Those memories were brought back to my childhood, I would go to NY many times and I would definitely see this musical over and over again.

2022-06-23This is a beautiful theater. It was clean and liked that they had ushers there to help find our seats. The only negatives I would point out is the seats are a tight fit and lower to the ground and where we were seating (aisle orchestra) there were a these sticky pads on the ground. I noticed they were in every aisle but in different locations. It was a little annoying I don’t know what they are. I didn’t get a picture because although it was annoying it didn’t ruin my visit and it didn’t make the bottom of my show sticky so it was just something weird on the ground. Other than that I liked the theater and had the best seats. I highly suggest orchestra row f aisle. It was perfect for us!

2022-03-15We saw Aladdin yesterday at 1pm and it was fantastic. The show was amazing and funny. The seats are to be expected in a old theater. Overall the building was super cute and the show was absolutely amazing. The one complaint I have is how loud everyone is while opening bags of items that are sold at the concessions.

2022-05-22One thing I love about Broadway theaters across the globe is that there are no bad seats. We sat in the upper balcony and could hear, see and enjoy the entire show!Aladdin is what is playing there now and it is incredibly fun. The costumes are phenomenal, the banter is hilarious, the singing and dancing just brings it all alive in the best way!

2022-07-04The show Aladdin is amazing. The costumes. The music. All of it.The theater is a bit older. The decorations on the ceiling and walls is cool. The chairs though are really narrow. Bigger people may have issues feeling comfortable especially in the balcony. The e Terence and exit of the balcony also leaves something to be desired.

2022-08-08Our first Broadway Theatre Experience and we watched the Aladdin show here - all the actors did a wonderful job. The props, lighting effects and theatre ambience was excellent! We enjoyed the show ❤️
