If I can give it 0 stars, I would. Service was horrible, food wasnt good. We waited for about 10 min before we were served and only because my friends and I were complaining about not being served, that our waiter finally came to our table, with a big attitude. Ordered our food and one of my friends didnt realize that her food had celery in it, which she doesnt eat and the response from both the waiter and the manager, was, well what do you want us to do? There was no trying to work something out, just basically, it was our problem. Never, ever going to this place again and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
The host at the front desk lack customer service. She wasn’t welcoming when I arrived and when people call to order she openly expresses how “annoying it is” then the workers as soon as you open your mouth to ask a question they turn away quickly without hesitation and tell you “wait for the lady she’s coming” well after 5 minutes of waiting I asked “who am I waiting for” all they kept saying is “she’s coming she’s coming” this is not the service I’d expect from an establishment that charges $1 extra for all meat options and $2 extra for all orders over $10 due to increase in “FUEL” lol smh …. It’s a silly charge because we’re all dealing with higher fuel cost and if I’m still willing to support your establishment why should I be overcharged for something that directly effects me plus I’m picking up not delivery
This is a large diner located on downtown Brooklyn. Its a beautiful, very clean and large diner. It is very well staffed at both the tables and counter. There is a beautiful display of cakes and pastries right next to the register. The coffee and food is good. They also offer delivery service. My biggest complaint is that the prices are a little on the high side. With all the nearby competition there are more affordable options and choices.
I’ve recently visited Apollo diner in Brooklyn. Now this wasn’t my intention because I was actually going there for someone else.Turned out that the person change their mind and I didn’t understand at first but now I know . That’s all I’m going to say “ now I know “! At first when I walked in the waitresses were very friendly so ironically I wasn’t upset. They seated me in a corner single area. I looked around and saw that this diner was recently renovated which is good. Brooklyn is poppin and businesses are bangin. Brooklyn should be Boom Shocka Lockaaaing with good eateries .Okay , so I remember the waitress asking me for my order and everything was quick. I sat down , I turned around , and there was my food . I was late and just missed the breakfast special by minutes . So I told the waitress that I’d order the pancakes, turkey bacon, and scrabble eggs. That was a lot but I suddenly got extremely hungry during my travels from Long Island, Queens, then to Brooklyn. The food was okay. My pancakes tasted warm and a little eggy . The turkey bacon was rubbery ,not edible at all but I did complain because it already hit my mouth due to me being hungry.I got orange juice but guess what the orange juice to me wasn’t real ,it tasted like Tampico with a little water in it. Tampico is what you get at the corner store.... omg 😮! Everything was rush , rush , all jokes aside ! I should of just went to IHOP .For a staple location , they can do better. I just wish that several good breakfast & brunch diners would open. I think that Brooklyn need more variation of diners such as a Caribbean diner, an Asian Diner , A Latin diner, and a southern diner. I mean the Bar Clay Centers is downtown Brooklyn for crying out loud and other popular businesses. To me the only other place that represents for Brooklyn is Juniors but sometimes they’re over crowded. So , with all that being said I rate this Apollo Diner with 👎👎 you judge for yourself! Peace.
Poor service! Do not order from New Apollo They totally suck! I spent almost $50 via Grubhub but I was sent a strawberry cheesecake instead of Oreo cheesecake. I’m allergic to strawberries so I should’ve never been sent this. I called to ask about it the lady stated “she was too busy to call” so she sent me whatever she wanted; literally! If it wasn’t so cold today I would’ve walked over there and smudged the desert all over their window!
I thought I would never have to taste a bad calamari in my life. I guess never say never. I honestly thought I was eating a frozen lean cuisine dish. The wait staff took their sweet sweet time serving us. We had to flag them down everytime (it was not busy). The 2 meals we ordered were overpriced and underportioned. I believe in 2nd chances but this establishment made it a hard one for me.
This place is very spacious, with a great menu selection and kids menu. The food is good. The venue attracts local working-class as well. It is well lit and easily seen from outdoors. The wait staff servers are traditional in diner-stye and manner. The restrooms are located downstairs. If accessibility is available, it was not noticeable right off. Highly recommended for large tour groups and the price is moderate for a family diner.
I regularly weekend-brunch at the New Apollo Diner. Great for brunches, lunches and dinners. Weve developed a friendship with the waitstaff and management. Always appreciate their good, attentive service.Updated as of 02/06/2022Due to a regrettable altercation with one very disrespectful waitress when about to order breakfast, who overcharged me a week earlier then accused ME of joking with her which is why she made the error - her animosity apparently carried over to our next visit, and I was not going to tolerate it. (Oddly, both her eyes appeared bloodshot at 10 am.)I didnt order. Instead, I waited for my companions to finish their breakfast, then went home to enjoy my own breakfast, peacefully, instead of in that godawful place.Nobody ever wins an argument with a customer. If the service quality continues to decline, inevitably keeping customers away, Id feel sorry for the business and the other, very respectful waitstaff who do a great job!
Scenario: I ordered pickup online and picked up the food 20 minutes later. My friend and I arrived, followed the sign to the pickup area. We stood there for 7-minutes while 5-6 diner staff members ignored us to include the manager. Then a delivery guy who was picking up an order walked in and a staff member walked up to the delivery guy and asked what he was picking up. At this time, no one has spoken to us. When I talked to the manager about being ignored and the staff helping someone who came in after me, he blew me off, told me I’d be helped and it’s ok that the delivery pickup guy was helped before me. Sad part is, my food was ready sitting in a bag right across from where I was waiting. After another 5-minutes the staff guy came out from the kitchen with the delivery guy’s order then he finally acknowledged us. Again, I asked, why did you help the delivery guy first. Same response as the manager and no apology. Customer service is nonexistent in this diner. And the food sat for an 15 extra minutes because of it. My food was cold and blah.
Was looking for a sit down breakfast restaurant close to the Marriott. Happened to find this restaurant on Maps and took a small walk. Restaurant had plenty of space, good for those who want to be socially distant. Menu was a little difficult to understand. Best part of the restaurant was the customer service. Our waitress Maria actually took time to get to know us. Veronica was also great. Definitely checking this place out again within the next couple of days.
Good location and nice setting in the restaurant.Food wise, I only speak for breakfast as I have not tried other cuisine. Egg sandwich is not that impressive. The bread is a bit dry and the bacon is neither crunchy nor moisture. Or maybe I am too picky as I assume that it is going to be the one in Bird & Prey.Service wise, they don’t take Discover, and instead saying: sorry we don’t take Discover, what I got is: we don’t take this kind….uh…. Discover. For a city that “tips” hard, I expect more.Overall, definitely not “the best” breakfast restaurant as what they said in the website. They may mean lunch or dinner.
Actually I have been coming here for about 12 years but I know they have been here longer than that. I keep coming back number one tor the service, they make you feel wanted they smile so they make you smile. Im here mainly for breakfast they make all my favorites the way I like it, the way I ordered it. Classic NYC diner...clean, friendly and welcoming
Going to be honest... I wasnt sure about this place. I wasnt expecting much from it. But Im not speaking hyperbole when I say this was the best diner Ive been to in NYC. Everything Ive had has been great. The fries are amazing. They menu is wide open so its great for people with picky eaters.Indoor seating and Covid safe. It was a great visit and I have no doubt Ill visit again.
Service was great.. but the food was horrible!!! The calamaris were spoiled! The fries taste old and stale and the sprite taste like seltzer water.. I use to love this place their food was the best Ive been going for 40 years! but the food this time was deplorable! The service was great though..
We went there today and had amazing service from the moment we walked in till the moment we left. Servers a quick to take your order and quick to bring them out. The place is clean. And everyone is friendly. The food was good too. Would definitely recommend and definitely going back!
I was there with some friends that have been there for breakfast before. However, I we went around lunch/dinner time. The food was terrible. I had the mozzarella sticks and the create your own pasta. The only palatable thing out of the entire order for the table was the marinara sauce for the mozzarella. The pasta was ridiculously overpriced. They charge you extra for every topping and the THE SAUCE!!! Now the toppings I get, but the sauce? Like, I have to pay not to have dry pasta?!?! Nobody liked there order and we left most of our food on the plate when we left. The only reason theyre even getting 1 star is because the wait staff was nice.
Great food, great portion sizes, great variety. Happy we could have sat in the diner like normal times and enjoy the great food. This time around I had the Turkey burger with fries. It was delicious and well done. My daughter had the shrimp parmesan. There was so big food and the shrimps were really big. My son had chicken tenders meal. And my sister had waffles and eggs with bacon. It was a great experience. I recommend this diner.
It’s Saturday morning and I’m craving for a delicious all American breakfast from Apollo’s diner. I went there for many years while living in NY. The older lady at the former Apollo was so sweet, and the owner was a kind man always courteous with the clients. The kids were nice too.The burgers are superb, the pickles fresh and crunchy and breakfast was an experience and it still is. I went there with my family in 2018 and was mesmerized at the decor of the new place but nostalgic about the original coffee shop. I am now retired in sunny Florida for the past thirteen years.
Mannnn! So it was a Wednesday morning and I wanted a good breakfast. So I made my way to Apollo Diner b4 clocking in for the man. Lol. First I want to thank them for having a bright and clean establishment. And the smell of the coffee just added another item to my order! I got scrambled eggs with cheese, wheat toast, turkey sausage, pancakes and hazelnut coffee! When I tell u every single item was fantastic I feel its not enuff to explain the satisfaction I have at this moment. I will definitely go back when I want a great breakfast again. Ill soon try them for lunch and let yall know about it. Till then capitalize on their breakfast! YAYYE! #thankyouapollodiner.
This is a favorite place for me and my mom. We have been going to this Diner for years, even before the renovations. Its a solid place for coffee and breakfast. Its conveniently located downtown Brooklyn by several trains and the bus. Its right around the corner from Fulton so close to all of the stores. Service is quick and the staff is friendly.
Honestly, 2nd chance given to this place after having ust moved into the neighborhood. Beautiful workers and service, but bacon comes out looking like shoestring. 2nd time eggs were not cooked the way I asked. And the sky high prices for mediocre food. 2 stars for beautiful people who work there and their customer service skills.
Omg omg omg My first time eating here yesterday night and omg omg omgggg I was amazed their customer service was so nice I really respect this place for a little diner it was worth it I mean their appetizers, their food, & drinks was so good. They are definitely gonna see my face again and again && AGAIN oh & Ps. Mind you I went with my mom & my stepfather but still they were awesome & delicious !! I definitely RECOMMEND 🙌🏾❤️
This was my first time eating inside a place since covid 19 and I liked how they check your temperature and wanted me to give some information in case of tracing is needed. That made me feel safe to know they care about everyone who enters the Diner. The food was great at always.
Ive been eating at this diner for decades. I dont ever want them to close. The food is so delicious and the staff is so friendly. The owner and his wife are just the best too. If you want real diner food this is definitely the place to go hands down. The desserts? Just delicious!
It is clean and spacious and has a polite and pleasant staff...but the diner fare was bland and cold. Menu items are overpriced. The best part of my meal was the freshly juiced vegetable beverages ($8.50).Of note, the restroom is downstairs.Convenient Downtown Brooklyn location. Wont be back.
Hello folks welcome all new people new eye balls and new beeeeeeeeeeeeez thanks for reading my post okay good place to eat at very clean friendly good workers here cool staff prices are fair wont hurt the pocket depends on what you want to eat good food selection here or I should say menu breakfast and lunch very mouthwatering not to he greedy but hungry and got to feed the belly and mind People here down o earth with the price I recommend to all or any body family friendly and kids friendly to so guess what folks come on down lets eat have fun and enjoy yourself so if you are near here stop In untill then peace
I’ve eaten here probably five or six times in the last year as a local to DTBK. The food is good by diner standards, and the service is quick.Table service can sometimes be hit or miss - they turn tables to keep up with the lines in the morning.Biggest complaint is the cost - compared to some other breakfast joints in the area, New Apollo seems overpriced when it comes to the basics.
Omg.... down home feel...down home love at its finest. I almost forgot I was not in NC...if you visit NYC..please stop thru for their grits, eggs and crab cakes(real)...fresh cup of Joe and LOVE!!! I give then a thousand 🌟🤩. Hostess, and waitress were amazing... COVID-19 rules followed to a T!!!
I like the dinner, they recently got a renovation that made the place more spacious..Smart move because in the past it was a very tight and a little uncomfortable to eat there.Great food, nice and friendly help, nice and clean restrooms and the place is usually spotless. I would have given it a 5 star rating but to me I think they are pricey for a place that makes basic, breakfast, lunch and dinner. After all they are just a dinner not a high class restaurant. If it wasnt for the Huge church (The Brooklyn Tabernacle) above and around them I think the place wouldnt do so well and thats mostly due to the high prices. I would recommend it if you dont mind paying about 15% more then you would your basic dinner.
Its a family owned, well organized machine ,you are greeted by managers & staff, your seated asap...if its crowded they let you know approximately when you will get seated, you can sort of customize your order. Food is good. Staff is efficient & polite .I love to meet family members and friends there for breakfastServings are hearty..Bathrooms are clean .Most important seniors and handicapped have access..I absolutely love the whole experience..then you can shop till you drop right around the corner.
This has been my diner for 23 years.I have Watch the owners children grow up here. The food is large portions. Sometimes you can share. The staff is wonderful I have never had a problem here. I like the dinner specials they are taste. I miss this place because I move. But I will be back. Love you all
This diner is such a cool place to have a good breakfast or lunch. So much to choose from on the menu, so many favorites. Clean, staff is friendly and food portions are very good. Oh and ah, if you like good desserts, but you are on a diet, do not look at the dessert section, there is no way you will be able to resist. Prices are a little steep, but if you want to enjoy a great diner, treat yourself, bc this is the place to go.
Great food. I had triple decker sandwich ,chicken salad and bacon ,lettuce and tomato on the sandwich . I took bacon off due to I just didnt want pork that day. The fries were great also. I dont like their onion rings so just tell them no onion rings. They gave me plenty-and it was as I said great. Choice of bread for me was toasted wheat. The waiters and waitresses are nice and professional .
This is a great cozy Greek family owned diner. I been coming here for about 3 years. I love how they remodeled it and it has alot more seating space now. Everyone that works here is very friendly . The food is great majority of the time. I love the shrimp scampi but sometimes its a hit or miss depending on the chef. Its a little expensive but worth it due to the large portions they serve. They serve from breakfast to dinner and have a decent selection of wine. They make smoothies and have ice cream and a great dessert selection to choose from.
I love Apollo. This year my son start taking me there about twice a month. The Apollo experience is great from the staff to the owner walking around just saying hi and hows everything going. A real family atmosphere. 5 stars is what Ill give it but there number 1 in my heart.
As soon as you walk in we were greeted with a warm salutation and was seated immediately. Once seated we were given water without asking and then our waiter was right there to take our order. The service was wonderful and the food was AMAZING. Would definitely go back in the near future.
I had a much anticpated, yet very disappointing breakfast at the New Apollo Diner. I hadnt been here in a while, but unfortunately even as they improve the decor (the place looks so nice) the food quality has declined. My waffles were served lukewarm and they were flavorless. The oily spread that they presented as butter wouldnt melt on them. Ive really learned not to expect real maple syrup at a diner, but what this place was serving was the weakest imitation of the stuff Ive ever tasted. Could it have been thinned with water? I cant recommend this place for breakfast.
Maybe theyre still working out the kinks but this place isnt ready from Primetime yet. I initially ordered a coffee that was served Luke warm. Decided Id skip the dinner and just get a desert and asked for the ice cream sundae. Sorry, out of nuts, No hay problema. Me apartaré de tu camino. of strawberries. Ok then lets do that banana split...i could smash that in minutes...but sorry, out of bananas, out of crushed nuts...out of whipped cream. Ok...F--orget this, give me a strawberry milkshake. I did finally get that, Nd it tasted stale. And when I enthusiastically gulped down that first gulp and reached for the napkin...i realized the waiter brought no napkins with the coffee nor the milkshake. And my big full Cowboy/Viking mustache when packed full of ice cream frantically trying to get the waiters attention number 1 to 10 2.5 Losers. Over it if I was getting a a grade they would have a D minus
This diner is really huge!I had multigrain pancakes, egg, and sausage for breakfast at the place. It was pretty good for the most part, but the pancakes werent fluffy. One good thing though is that Macys is just up the block from the place. So,thats where I went to walk off what I ate.
Busy diner in downtown Brooklyn. Lots of business happening especially for a Sunday post-brunch afternoon. But what do I know. Our waiter seemed to want us to snap to it with our order and with good reason, the door states piling up with people waiting outside. The food was standard. Nothing to write home about, but its a diner, so. Casual atmosphere with the television sets.
I been coming to eat here for awhile . I love the remodeling that was done looks very nice. They serve big portions so be hungry when coming here to eat. Food is a little on the expensive side compared to the prices they use to be. I guess with the upgrades came higher prices . The food is delicious though you will not be disappointed. Lunch hour is usually when its crowded and hard to get a table.
Each time my mother and I go to the doctor on Livingston Street, we make it a point to visit this this diner. The prices, while commensurate for the area, are a bit steep ($57 for lunch for three - hamburgers, pita wrap and tuna club!) but the food is delicious! Last time we were there, we told the manager they needed to open one in Sheepshead Bay. Were lucky we dont see the doctor in that area very often because we wont miss the opportunity to fine there. Really worth it!
Although the food was delicious the service was weak. Seriously disappointed to learn that in the kids menu there is a $10 spaghetti plate with no meatballs or anything else. I need to know how someone can reason making spaghetti, the most inexpensive and easiest thing to make into a atrociously expensive purchase. Ridiculous. And then I wanted to buy a slice of bread for my daughter and he wanted to charge me $3. Its not that Im stingy our meal was about $75 so its not that I cant afford it so much as the thought of charging so much money for such little things
Pondering minds is right. The female manager is the worst asset this company has. I used to order there every week and spend between 25 and $75. In one day. Every Sunday I usually get the same thing but I looked at their menu and they had a salad listed twice with two separate prices $0.50 difference. So I asked them to give me the lessor price for the salad. This particular day I was ordering a lot of food. The bill would have been about $75 so she responded in her nasty way that no, she couldnt do it and it was an oversight on the online menu. Well if they made a mistake online its not my mistake its theirs. So needless to say, they lost money not only for that week but I will never go there again I will order from somewhere else.
A great classic diner that is super clean (including the rest rooms) and serves oversize portions from a wide ranging menu. Weve only been here a few times but its our preferred place when visiting the next door Brooklyn Tabernacle or the just down the street Transit Museum. Right by all trains and buses. Good shopping nearby too. My husband always gets the breakfast and raves about the corned beef hash. Weve never had to wait, even on weekend mornings.
Extremely upset. I was seated at a table i was given a menu waiter walked away. 15 minutes went by and a waiter asked me if I wanted water I said yes he brought the water I waited for a waiter to come by and take my order 12 minutes passed and i no waiter I stopped a waiter and asked can I get coffee he brought me a cup. When I went to use the spoon I seen that the spoon was not cleaned properly had food left on it. I stopped a manager (I assume he was) and asked him to change the spoon which he did. Afterward a waiter came and took my order which was a platter eggs bacon and French toast. He then left as I’m waiting 2 other people came in a sat at the next table and were served immediately and there food brought out before mine. Now another 10 minutes passed and I still did not get my food. So I asked the waitress how much was for the coffee she said $2.00 I left leaving the $2.00 for the coffee and I still was not attended too. Terrible service
Ive been there a few times now. I decided to stop going because theyre not consistent with their food. First time I went it was great. 2nd time, its as if they threw left overs into my plate. 3rd time, food was better but they changed the food quantity. Orders that came with fries, now they dont. 4th time I went was about a week ago, and I ordered buffalo chicken wings with ranch on the side. The chicken wings tasted old, and the sauce they used WAS NOT Buffalo sauce, it tasted like watered down ketchup, mixed with the ranch. Didnt know people could mess up salad, but they did. And my boyfriend couldnt even eat his sandwich because it was drowned with the sauce they used, the bread was saggy and the sauce smelled like vinegar. Besides my wings, I asked for a panini and never got it. They completely forgot my order. Feel free to try it, but I cant promise the food will ALWAYS be good. My food experience with them has been a rollercoaster. Good luck!
Great spot in downtown Brooklyn. On the corner of smith and Livingston st. Full menu , breakfast lunch , dinner served anytime. Staff and service good. Restaurant clean. Manager very accommodating. Daily specials make this a nice spot anytime. Roomy and plenty of tables. Prices reasonable.
Me and my boyfriend went for breakfast, the service was fine but the food was terribly under cooked. His sunny side up eggs were not cooked thoroughly and were slimy. Also, the potatoes werent seasoned at all, they were like plain sliced boiled potatoes. Soooooo disappointed!
Theres no shortage of selection on the menu - its huge. Very typical diner, with oversized portions and quick service. We had a good time there. The food is pretty straightforward, you wont come away amazed (except perhaps by how huge your serving was) but its an easy place with good service and reasonable prices.
Really bad service. Seating here for the past 45 min waiting for someone to pay attention. Server is mean and acting like she is doing you a favor by bringing you food. Place looks kinda dirty. Food is cold. French fries tasted like it wasnt even defrost enough. Bad experience. Wouldnt recomend!!!
I have been buying food from this diner for years. I usually order delivery to my job but I have visited there a few times toeat with my mother.Today I was driving by and my mother had to use the bathroom. Mind you, she is elderly and walks with a cane (disabled). Would you know they turned her away?!I went in and spoke to the manager. I asked him My mother came in here to use your restroom and you told her she had to buy something. Ive spent alot of money buying food from you all and this is how you treat your patrons?Manager says its policy customers are the only ones allowed to use the restroom. So I told him, Ive been coming here and buying from you for years. Then he had the nerve to say he doesnt remember me and I must show proof. If I order delivery mostly then how the hell WOULD you know? Also he doesnt even serve the guests, the waiters do.Anyway, since they are so hard pressed on spending money for one flush of a toilet Im going to pull my dollars away from them. The policy is ridiculous, especially if you see someone, (a child, a pregnant woman or an elderly lame) come in to use the restroom. Some people get in business and forget the human aspect of life. I wont be spending my money there anymore. Im sure it wont hurt them but I sure as hell will feel alot better not spending my money there anymore.
I was really surprised by this local gem. We had made a last minute decision to eat here for breakfast after a busy morning. Their breakfast was priced properly and the portions were huge and left us feeling full. The staff, though busy, were friendly and hospitable. They say if you want to eat well like a local, ask a cop where they eat. In this case, the New Apollo was full of NYPD officers enjoying their meals.Would strongly suggest (at least for breakfast) and will come back again for lunch at a future date.
I have eaten here about 5 times total. Around the corner from my church where there are little to no food options on Livingston besides bbq’s. Food is ok at best, eggs are very bland and omelette have way too much onions in them.My major issue and a pattern I’ve noticed after eating here a few times is that they always take forever to take my order after I’m seated. Like someone stated above I do believe there is something racial about this. I noticed all the white patrons being tended to almost immediately after being seated while the mostly Hispanic wait staff zoomed by our table. Even when dining there at almost closing time when it was empty it took almost 15 minutes to be served. It was so blatant today as that all the white patrons around me even some who were seated after me were served before me. I’m never going back there and I’ll be sure to spread this review via word of mouth.
Overpriced food for the quality you get. The hot chocolate i bought was very thick and sugary and the meatball parmesan sandwich i bought had watery tomato sauce and poor tasting meatballs. The waitress was terrible. After we recieved our food, she never came back to check on us, refill drinks, or give us the check. I eventually had to flag the bus boy down in order to get the check. Terrible food and terrible service.
I like going to this diner because it is cozy and the owner is so friendly, he makes you feel at home. I would say if you are a pickey eater stick to what you know because it took me several attempts to find something I would enjoy on a regular basis. I love their gyros and the breakfast food is good.
While on a visit to Brooklyn I ran across this gem. frustrated after walking out if Juniors a few blocks away after looking at their menu and realizing breakfast would cost triple what Ive paid angwhere else. New Apollo has tons of comfy booths and a large reasonably priced menu and a decent breakfast. Its not super homey or just like grandma used to make but it is quik affordable and pretty good over all.
The food was good here but very over priced for a restaurant in Brooklyn. They clearly have us paying for their renovations (which look great by the way)I had the carbonara and they were very accommodating and didnt give me a hassle about my substitution request . I appreciate a restaurant that can be flexible with the menu .
The home fries where undercooked and not everybody likes peppers in their food. The home fries had onion and peppers in them which made them taste aweful. The staff was accommodating but not very friendly. I would not recommend this to anybody even an enemy. Sorry but my experience there was not a very good one.
I would not recommend this restaurant. We went for breakfast. It was quite expensive. The home fries were undercooked. They were more like mashed potatoes with red and green peppers and onions mixed in. I asked for well done crispy hash. It was just the opposite. The service was just OK.
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable, classic diner fare but not a greasy spoon...the food is made with care and whatever isnt on the menu, they find a way to put it together for you. Great place to stop after a day of shopping and running errands.
This was my worst experience at a restaurant ever. I have been coming here for years. I had to wait 20 minutes for drinks because the waitress said that there were no more glasses what did I want her to do?!!!! I ordered food she didnt write down my order and she didnt get it right at all. I asked for 2 salads I got 1 I asked for 2 lasagna I got one and at the last minute I was told they ran out to order something else. I talked to management to rectify the situation and he was very vage and really didnt care. This is a cheap spot downtown that I will never go to again. Go anywhere else but here why spend your money to be disrespected!!!
My experience at this diner was a true disaster. This place knows nothing about how to treat their customers, or how to properly cook food. The only thing even remotely decent about this place is the hostess in the front of the diner with amazing customer service skills. As someone who loves food and publishes my thoughts for a living about my restaurant experiences, I dont even know where to begin describing my experience with this place without feeling nauseated and stressed out.For starters, I ordered a short stack of pancakes with blueberry filling since they did not have blueberry pancakes. Yes, thats right, a diner did not or would not make a pancake batter with blueberries (or any other fruit or chocolate) I also ordered eggs Benedict which brought home fries. When the waiter brought me my order, first thing I noticed was that my pancakes were over cooked, dry and folded in half with slabs of blueberry filling on each (2 pancakes). I did not ask the waiter or the chef to fold my pancakes in half and presume to know that I wanted my pancakes smothered in blueberry sauce. However, I decided to give it a try; to my dismay, the pancakes were dry and the blueberry sauce tasted like dirt scrapped off a sidewalk. I sent the pancakes back (no brainer). Next up were the homefries, with no eggs Benedict in sight. As I patiently waited for my forgotten order of eggs Benedict, I decided to try the homefries. Bland, cold and soggy potatoes that tasted like they had been sitting out for atleast 2 days. However, before I said anything about the homefries, out came the eggs Benedict! Starving at this point, I was praying to god that this would be good. What a disappointment! English muffin was soggy, only toasted about half way, eggs were overcooked, and it seemed like the chef either ran out of hollandaise sauce, or just forgot to top the English muffin and the eggs with the sauce. What a disaster! I was so hungry and it seemed like the stray dog outside eating off the sidewalk was having a better brunch!Oh, but the cherry on top of it all was the angry manager or owner that did not even bother to introduce himself as he just popped up at the side of my table. This man (no name or title) did not bother to ask what was wrong with my orders or how the situation could be rectified. This man proceeded to yell at me in front of other customers and tell me that the way the food was cooked is the way it is supposed to be. As soon as I told this man that the way the food that was cooked had many errors and that I have eaten eggs Benedict and pancakes many times in my life, he stormed off and screamed at the waiter not to let me order anything else as he would not serve me (not that I wanted to order anything else!). This man is not a restauranteur in anyway. Rude, unprofessional tyrant.I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. There are many options on the same block as this place that will treat their customers with respect and serve you much better quality food for your hard earned dollars.AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Overpriced, disgusting food!
I ordered a natural OJ and when I received it I noticed that they were spinach and other vegetables inside my drink meaning they didn’t clean the juicer before they made my drink and it makes me worried because it can easily be a cross contamination where people can get sick. For the place ,location and the pricing They should hold them selves to a higher standard first time here last time here.

2022-05-01Right next to the Brooklyn Tabernacle. We went there after service and it was great. Extremely fast service even though there were many customers. Very nice food. Loved the pancakes and the Marple syrup.

2022-03-14WOW! Great food and great atmosphere! Always staff are to get what you need. French toast #7 is great with patty sausage. You pay at the counter and prices are reasonable! Wheelchair access.

2021-08-19Went for lunch after walking through Brooklyn bridge. What a delight! Cozy American dinner decor, The services is fast, friendly and comfortable. The menu is HUGE! See photo, so hard to choose from many selections! We end up ordered omelette and Mexican chips avocado dipping. It is pricy chip but the best I had. Highly recommend! We also had cheese cake for desert, original flavour, the serving size is huge.

2021-09-19This place serves breakfast all day so I only ate breakfast foods both times I visited. And both times the food was amazing. However, my family members did also enjoy their meals and they had different items, to include a veggie burger.

2022-02-05Came here for a dinner last week, it was pretty quiet, not many customers and I received good service from the staff. The food itself is not amazing, there is inconsistency in the dishes. I ordered a plate of beef with potatoes which was kind of good seasoned. However I also ordered some bbq ribs, which were very tough, had barely meat, and a bad tasting sauce. The dessert was alright, i ordered some cake slices which tasted good. Overall an okay meal, though some dishes ordered were disappointing, and over priced for the quality, not all was bad.

2022-03-30Food and service were below average. I asked for cheese on my eggs and it seemed a kraft of cheese slice was placed on top of the eggs. There was no fruit available and my coffee was never refilled once. Do not recommend eating here.

2022-07-03The food was tasty, the atmosphere cool and relaxing. However, the servers were dull and not engaging. Overall, I will recommend this diner to friends and family.
