I stopped using this company service for their lack of professionalism time and time again. Their cabs always smelled of cigarettes and I was always lied to about the waiting time. On one occasion the cab driver never showed up and when I called back to inquire, the person behind the phone was rude and shouted at me for inquiring about a cab I ordered 30 minutes ago. After years, I decide to call again WORST MISTAKE and the man on the phone tells me it’s a 15-20 min wait time. I call back after 20 minutes and he gets snappy saying I TOLD YOU ITS A LONG WAIT. I respond you never told me that and it’s been 25 minutes. I ended up waiting 40 MINUTES!!!!! And I called the cab early on purpose to avoid being late to my destination. I can understand waiting time but BE HONEST ABOUT THE WAIT!! Do not lie.
I have used this service for six years. I will no longer use this service. I have had some issues in the past with drivers showing up extremely late 30-45 minutes. I didnt even mind that because their prices are so fair. But after a really bad experience a few days ago; I will not call this cab service again. I took a cab from Flushing to Jackson Heights (or I tried to). They said it will arrive in 8 minutes. It took 20 minutes to show up. Ok, fine. But the driver was absolutely erratic. I was shocked. He was honking his horn every two seconds, talking to himself and making strange noises. But the worst part of it all was that since 34th avenue is shut down in Jackson Heights (because of social distancing and allowing the public to walk in the streets) he decided to end my ride over 10 blocks away from my location. He could have easily taken a different avenue...it made absolutely no sense. He just wanted to end the ride. I was a totally silent passenger and I was outside waiting for the cab. I did nothing to upset this driver. Yet, he decided to end my ride so far from my location due to being too lazy I guess? It really doesnt make an ounce of sense. I also paid the full price of the ride because he demanded it by screaming at me... I didnt want to get confrontational with him because he was legitimately out of his mind. I had to walk in the freezing cold for ten blocks with a bad knee because this lazy driver did not want to take a different avenue.
I used the app to order the taxi for 9:40 and they didnt come. So I waited till 10 and I called the company. First time they hangup on me then second time they answer the phone rudely like what I told them I wanted to cancel my ride. But let me remind you I never asked to cancel my ride previously before the call. I didnt get no call or text about it
My experience with New Golden Horse Car Service was excellent. This car service is probably the best in Queens. Nice new cars, polite drivers and great customer care. I used them going to EWR and JFK, so far they have been doing a pretty good job. They accept reservation now through Gmail. Including tips, I paid $35 from Little Neck to JFK. Great fare!
I am grateful for the price points of this company, but this company has very poor customer service. I booked a car ride at a certain time. As I am on my way to the car, the driver simultaneously calls my cell phone within a five minute period. (This driver called during the five minutes that were after the time I scheduled my ride for) Overhearing the driver’s conversation with another person, I realize that the simultaneous calls were done to annoy the customer (me). Later on, the person they were taking to on the phone stated rude comments about me in Chinese. It’s understandable that people gossip, but don’t say rude things in the presence of your customer. Please tell your employees to show respect. As it is said in the Livery Passenger’s Bill of Rights, “You have the right to a safe a COURTEOUS driver who obeys all traffic laws.”
This company has always been reliable and cost effective. Drivers may not all speak fluent English but they know all the best routes to get you from A to B as fast and safe as possible. They’ve always been courteous and accommodating in my experience. The phone reps are not rude, they’re efficient and fast. People get over sensitive these days.
Horrible service! THE WORST!!!! Driver was over 45 minutes late picking me up in the morning when I had made a reservation 24 hours in advance the day before for 7:15AM. He didnt arrive until 7:56AM and he kept lying to me telling me he was several minutes away every time I called. I should have just driven myself because waiting for him resulting in me missing my meeting and worst of all, they are SO RUDE on top of it!They didnt even care he was so late. No discount was offered and when I asked they lied and said they had no managers or supervisors for any kind of approval. Meanwhile, I unfortunately booked a round trip service with this company and hoping for the best, I figured well at least they know for sure to arrive at 6pm to pick me up and they wont mess up again. WRONG!! Driver was 30 minutes late picking me up and called me laughing to tell me. WHY were you laughing dude!?! Because this company is a joke!?!?! I AGREE!!!I will NEVER use this service again and BEWARE if you need to be somewhere on time- try another business!
I call this company every time I’m headed to the airport, used them about 10 times now and they’ve always been punctual or early. When speaking to the dispatcher in English, they do seem to be more annoyed. I’ve had a few instances where the car smelled like cigarettes and one instance where the driver drove really fast, but the cars are always pretty new and usually a minivan comes to pick me up so there’s plenty of head and legroom. If you use the app, it’s easy for them to pull the details quickly and avoid miscommunication, that’s also the best way to book the car in advance when traveling abroad without cell service. Compared to uber and lyft, this car service usually wins on the pricing front at 42.75 for a private ride from lower manhattan to JFK
Be aware! The driver increased the price while we got on the car! It was a shock but there was nothing we can do as our bags were all loaded and there was too late for us to call for another car service. When we arrived the airport, the drive asked for even additional “wait time fee” because we were a few minutes late showing up. It is a rob. Do not use this company!
I just took the cab with my mom to jfk at 7am. I called the night before to setup a pick up date for 7am and the driver was there about 3 mins early. The big cab was very roomy and VERY clean! He got to jfk in about 15-20 mins from college point, flushing. He was very nice and asked us if this is the correct place before stopping to drop us off. I highly recommend! I’m going to be using this company from now on. Very reliable and I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!
Best car service in Queens. $22 JFK to Flushing. No reservation is needed, just call them after you have picked up your bags at the airport. I depend on them for all my trips the past few years. Always on time and their operators are also very helpful. As long as you can tell them clearly your address, they will come to you. I use them many times in the city during rush hours, let me tell you this, their fare is flat rate and calling them is way better than hailing a yellow cab.
Stay away from this company. Weve used them a few times over the past year and were satisfied. However, two terrible experiences in the past two weeks, and were finished. Once we were kept waiting for 25 minutes by a driver who kept assuring us he was almost there, 5 minutes, then took the wrong route to the airport and didnt know how to use Google Maps. Another time friends of ours were kept waiting 45 minutes at the airport, and also assured time and time again that the driver was 5 minutes away.
Hands down the most reliable car service in Queens. I use them for all my travels. Make sure to make reservation one day before if you need to use their service going to JFK or EWR. They can get busy at times. So, I always make reservation whenever my schedule is set. When you make reservation, make sure to provide all details and get the fare quoted. Their operators always answer in Chinese, just talk in English and they will switch. Simply put, fast, cheap and very reliable.

The most shady taxi company period. Dont trust any 5 star reviews because theyre probably friends or family. Called a cab at 2 AM for a friend and tried to pay with CC. The person on the phone stated they didnt accept CC and only accepted cash but then 1 minute later, he magically found a CC terminal. Swiped my card but told me there was no cars available. Few days later I saw a CC charge for $127.00. Be smart guys and dont call
Garbage business. Told me to wait 20min, wound up waiting 50 and the people hung up on me twice. Then got in the car and the driver proceeded to take the slowest possible route, making what would have been a 1 hour drive from jfk to Manhattan, 1 hour 30min. Terrible attitudes all around. Your time is worth more than the $20 you saved by not taking uber.
Worst taxi company I’ve ever experienced. Rude and unapologetic. Driver was half hour late. I live 5 minutes from where this company is headquartered so they could’ve sent somebody else. Old car with a terrible smell equipped with extremely rude driver. Called office and was told “so, what do you want me to do? You don’t like it, call somebody else”Good advice. I used Uber as the new golden horse driver watched me, cursed me, threatened me AND PHOTOGRAPHED ME AND MY FAMILY as if we had done something wrong. Uber was there in 5 minutes. Friendly driver, clean car, on time. UDo yourself a favor and DON’T ever call this place. Even if you don’t use Uber or Lyft and you like the traditional taxi companies just don’t ever call this one, you’ll regret it.

Excellent car service that has remained a hidden gem so far for the commuting public at large. I believe however many has started calling New Golden Horse because I had seen quite a few New Golden Horse drivers picking up people at JFK. Fair and square a very good car service.
New Golden Horse is one the the best car services in NYC. They are reliable. Last but not least, their fares are priced reasonably and offer hands down one the the best fares in the city. From downtown to JFK I paid $38, it was comfortable ride and Ive put their number on my speeddial.
OK, so the other reviews are either very good or very bad, but all correct. The good: Great price and these guys really know their way around the boroughs, never stuck in traffic, even at 4 PM on Fridays. The bad: Some of the cars are old and dirty, some of the drivers are old and dirty, and some of the English is a little weak. However, all in all a very good experience. I use them exclusively to get from Manhattan to LGA.
The WORST customer service ever !We needed 3 ex-large van to go different direction and we booked one day before from California, the operator confirmed and said call them when arrived to JFK airport so we did.When we arrived and called they claim that no such appointment we got to give them new info. again. WHAT ? I asked for supervisor to file complaint the operator responsed to me call them next day and hang up. They not even care the customer services and business so take my advice stay away from this company.
The service is OK, sometimes the driver come late n dont know where he is going, he has to ask me that is bad. Once the driver drop me in the wrong terminal at Kennedy airport, do not speak English. In the winter do not put up heat is cold. Now is more expensive to go to Manhattan. Once my wife called n they said do not car available call back later that is very very bad. Where is customer service. Is getting worse.
Terrible customer service! Driver screamed at us because he had no place to park his car - this is NYC - figure it out!! Do not take it out on your customers who are paying for a service. When calling their main line to provide feedback, we were constantly put on hold and she did not care. I would NOT recommend taking them- they were only 3 dollars cheaper than a Lyft or Uber!!
Welcome to the new NYC where you call a cab company and if your not Asian you get told right away there are no cars no matter the time or location your in. Cars smell and drivers if the do come drive as if they are running through main land China without rules or regard . I used them because of inexpensive they are but I value my life so I wont anymore.
Never failed me for the 2 times i used ngh for transportation to and from jfk to manhatten :)it helps if you speak chinese because i was able to speak with the operator in chinese and hire the transfers, not sure how good they are communicating in english.it was about $42 dollars from jfk to grand central and $46 from grand central back to jfk. its definitely the most economical traveling from the city to jfk if you have a good amount of luggage (i had my dog with me as well).though the cars are not in the best condition but hey, rolls on 4 wheels and it gets me to and from jfk at an affordable rate and timely manner, so cant complain. plus the drivers are all really courteous and professional. safe drivers.very prompt. i hired a car to pick up in manhatten at 5:30 and they arrived at 5:10. when i was waiting at the airport they had mentioned it was going to take 30 minutes for the car to arrive but they arrived 15-20 minutes ahead of time. make sure you have your phone handy because thats how theyll reach you when they arrive and need to look for you.
Worst car service that I have ever used. Rude operators. Late drivers. LATE for a reservation made the day before BOTH times that I used them. Dirty old cars. Not worth whatever you might save. Never again. Maybe they know there way around Queens, but they certainly cant seem to make it to a Manhattan address!!!!!
The worst service ever. The driver was rude and disrespectful. They claimed they called the number attached to our car request multiple times - we had not received any calls. And instead of politely notifying us of the issue they instead yelled at us. This is exactly why other car services are winning market share.
Took a cab a from Queens blvd to maspeth and they charged me extra because I had a small corner table put in the trunk. It didn’t take up any extra space. I didn’t have to order an extra large car and they charged me $5.00 extra. I think that is Absolutely crazy then purposely left us a block and a half away I will never take the time service again
Cheap adorable taxi service that perfectly Described new Golden Horse Car service. The only downside about Golden Horse is that A the drives speak very little English and 2nd the drives do drive very fast but I should mention as someone who is not From NYC it seem like everyone in NYC drive anywhere from 10-20 miles above the posted speed limit.
More affordable than a cab but quality of the ride is hit or miss. Its either a van or a golden sedan. Make sure to establish with the driver upfront the method of payment - mine protested that he didnt take credit even though we cleared this with the booking agent on the phone. Also, speaking chinese helps a lot.
Cheap and quick rides to and most importantly, back FROM the airport...I called them as soon as I got my luggage at JFK, the cab stand line was already 20 people deep. After about 5 minutes, the driver had called me back to confirm exactly where Id be standing at the pickup zone at my terminal; less than 5 minutes later, he pulled up and I was on my way. No OMG youre not going to Manhattan attitude either. $38 from JFK to Park Slope/Windsor Terrace in Brooklyn. I forget how much it had cost to ride to JFK from Whitestone, Queens but it was less than that. Plus tip.Yes, it helps if you can speak Chinese but they have GPS units, in the worst case just give them a handwritten address for where you want to go and then cash at the end. I had to spell out the address (street name) that I was headed for in Brooklyn letter by letter for the driver, even when I do speak Mandarin.
OK so i called a cab an hour in advance and then I called back 10 minutes before the timei asked for and they said that there was no car available & that I should wait 20-25 minutes. One night dispatcher was very rude and self entitled stated multiple times that he would ban me for life. His reasons was that he called me and I did not answer. What s funny is they did not call but he wouldn’t even entertain that idea he was being extremely rude saying he would ban me for life even after I apologize knowing that they didn’t call. At that point I felt treatent and I said what’s your name because I was gonna call and complain that’s when he hong up the phone. I felt he was quick to discriminate because I’m not Chinese. It hurt me because I love Chinese ppl. Other than that my experience with GH is excellent. I never ever write reviews but this dispatcher ingnighted a fire in my soul.

I spend my money here all the time and everytime I have an issue with getting picked up the drivers are racist and when you have an issue with them they tell you there are no cabs available when they are at fault. Never catch this cab service call Caprice cab when in Flushing Queens.

2022-07-04I have been using this service on and off for 5 years and I have had a good experience. I usually book 5ish days in advance for peak season flights and 2 days in advance for all others. If I don’t like the rate, I just say I will think about it and then call again later. I like that I will get a text about my booking a bit before my scheduled time, I do wish that it was an hour before BUT I can always track them on the app so there really isn’t a need.Additionally while I have never booked with a rude person, I have encountered people that will cut right to the chase with questions (time, location, people, luggage & they will give a price) and that can be off putting for some. So for warning there.All my drivers have been on time and courteous. Saw some reviews saying they booked last minute and the driver is late- I mean, you booked last minute. It takes time for drivers to reroute and there’s always traffic that is hard to estimate..?I will say that I have also always made sure the person booking my car for me knows that I intend to pay with cash. Don’t know if this makes a difference but I feel like it does since it is the preferred payment method.

2022-04-23New Golden Horse is a great car service!! They provide prompt service at fair prices. You can use their app or call and someone will pick up. They’ll either come right away or you can schedule a pick up. It’s a Chinese run business but they speak English. Their prices are sometimes significantly cheaper than Uber. So I always check before going somewhere like the airport and it’s always cheaper.Really recommend them!!!

2022-02-18Ordered a car three hours ahead to bring me up to drop off at the airport. A few minutes after the scheduled time, I called to check in and they said they’d need another 6 minutes. 15 minutes later, they still hadn’t shown up so I called again. They said they needed another 12 minutes and were very unapologetic. Terrible service. I shouldn’t have to wait 30 minutes for a car that’s already scheduled - especially to JFK. I called to cancel the car finally and amusingly enough, sounded surprised and said they were on the way. They were on time the last time I used them, so that’s the two stars. Unfortunately, I will not be using them again.

2022-02-04So I lost my card so I wasn’t able to pay card so I needed a taxi services these people charge a lot but that wasn’t the problem. It was how rude they were I actually got into a car accident with one of them and then the second one I kid a round trip and he left me there the trip would normally cost 10 on Uber but it was 30 with them. And I asked the guys to give me my money back but Ofcourse he did not what can I do. It’s just frustrating when people behave this way honestly.

Would recommend!EDIT: a week later on 5/23, called a little past 12:30AM for ride from JFK; came within ~20mins after the call. This driver was also attentive, professional.

2021-11-05Always reliable and always 5 minutes early for pickup. It’s a car service. Their job is to pick you up and drive you safely from A to B, not to make light conversation with you. That works for me. I use them all the time for longer distance trips from Manhattan to NJ or Westchester. Reasonable rates.You need to call them for bookings. The APP does not really work.

2021-11-19I used this car company this past Wednesday and when you make a reservation the guy who picks up now asks how many bags or additional items youre bringing on. The fare is much higher if you bring something with you. This is the only company that I know that is doing that and I find this improper even illegal. Whats next whats your height and weight!!! Uber, Lyft even livery cabs have never charged me extra for bringing something on. This past Wednesday they overcharged me almost $20 on top of the fare to Manhattan. It was a large Toyota Sienna and the rude guy told the driver over the speakerphone that I had to pay cash or he returns us back. We were near the 59th Street Bridge and since I had cash I paid and he continued the ride. I checked on Lyft and Uber and they were almost $18 less for the ride. They dont charge extra for bringing additional items. If the TLC is reading this they need to be investigated with their shady way of doing business. I recommend Yes Car Service in Flushing, because they dont overcharge. Shame on you New Golden Horse!!!

2021-08-13My continuing go to service for late evening trips from Manhattan to Summit NJ. Rewind 5 maybe 6 years. Driving my car in for a night on the town then driving back home - stupid. NJT - fine for the inbound, big downer going home. So how to get home reliably without spending $$$? Talking to my young (well hes 40s, a lot younger than me!) hip friend from Belgrade.. tells me I have a friend, he only dates Chinese girls, whenever they need a ride she calls this Chinese car service. Intrigued, I sense I am onto something. Try it. Works. Bit clunky, I communicate using email, cars reliable, quality variable. Fast forward to the present. They have an app. Its brilliant. Super easy to use. Prices show immediately. Pick your ride time, ASAP, 1 hour from now, next week, whenever. Beware - these prices for my NYC-NJ route seem low because they do not include tolls. But then.. in my experience, 1 hour before the scheduled pickup, they actually call (yes call) to confirm all the details and then update the total price to include tolls (but no tip included!!). Closer to the pickup time the app confirms the car info and tracks its location. Driver calls to confirm arrival. Cars in my experience are now new, clean, drivers very safe, cautious. Overall superior, predictable, competitive service for my requirements vs ride hailing alternatives (think: huh.. surge pricing... because its raining??!!). New Golden Horse, keep up the good work!
