New Heights in other cities:
If there was a way to give minus 5 stars, I would. Horrible service all around. Slow staff, slow cooks, slow everything. I don’t get how it take 50 minutes to make 2 burgers and fries. At this point I can go to a McDonalds get an order, come back and still not get for what I asked for. I’ll have kids and die off before I get the burgers. Never again.
Im not sure how to rate New Heights great music food is delicious provide takeout has a wonderful area to play Billiards a second bar piece with live DJ & dancing. my problem comes in with the inconsistency of how much at the door and what time is happy hour over Ive been here numerous of times and it has been known to change depending on if its crowded or not
I ordered on Grubhub. In the seafood boil , the crablegs tasted cheap, they put one potato and diced it and 2 really small corn cobbs in it. No garlic butter sauce. Everything was so bland tasting & overpriced. Dont waste your money! Theres plenty of other places to get seafood from.
Recently went there with a friend, it was very nice. The bartender Phoenix made us feel welcome from the door. We were laughing and having fun the whole night, this is how a bar/longe staff should be. Now we go there on a regular basis. Food was DELICIOUS, drinks was good also.
Brookyln is rapidly becoming the new hot spot, and some places can be expensive..... but New Heights stays true to the community it services and offers great drink/food options at reasonable prices. This is a great place to visit after work, ladies night out or on any occasion that calls for cocktails!
Was in the other night for the first time and the bartender guy cory was really great and very sweet! He helped us figure out what to drink and eat! Wings are fab and we were in the neighborhood for the first time as well and definitely gonna be telling people about this spot!! Thanks again for making us feel welcome!!
This is my 1st experience eating from this restaurant. I choose it becuz it was black owned. So I support black businesses✊🏾.I ordered through the Uber Eats app becuz of Covid-19.So I ordered the chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce and seasoned curly fries. So Im not going to completely act as if Im completely upset becuz I dont know whos fault it is. Yet, I will say I am a little disappointed with how things turned out. So Uber Eats have it labeled as chicken sandwich. So what is not know is fried or grilled. Its FRIED and with CHEESE for those who do not know. On Uber eats it does not clarify that. Google menu also might not have this on the menu at all. So there is no telling that its served that way or not. As for the seasoned fries, its a small amount, like just a real hand full and underwhelming.Overall it wasnt a bad experience, but I think something needs to be done about those issues with clarifying exactly how certain food are being served. The food tasted good despite my displeasure with it being fried chicken sandwich with cheese on it without knowing. Now that I know I would order again with much more confidence.
What a disappointing experience! My fiancée and I went here lastnight to hang out. We are on vacation before our wedding and spent some time yesterday searching up bars that were close by since we are not familiar with the area. We are from Maryland and my fiancées family traveled in from Costa Rica. We settled on this bar because their website ( a Facebook page) had recently posted a flyer, 19 HOURS PRIOR, saying that Tuesdays they had a $2 drink special and FREE admission before 9pm! We figured that this was perfect for a chill night out at a local spot! We invited my soon to be mother in law and her sister along with us. When we got there at around 8:15, to our dismay, there was a bouncer saying that we needed to pay $10 each to get in and that you had to be 25 to enter. Mind you this was NOT stated anywhere on their website which had been very recently updated. We showed him the flyer and inquired on why it said free before 9pm if it was really only free until 8pm and why in the world they didnt state their age requirement ANYWHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!! He stated that these changes were made a few weeks ago and that is why.... Thats absolutely absurd seeing as they just posted the ad for free before 9 YESTERDAY. Talk about bad for business! My fiancée and I are both 24 year old professionals with degrees. I am a U.S. Marine and she is a high school teacher. Being told that I cant walk into an establishment to get a drink because Im not 25 felt like a slap in the face, this is especially so because that wasnt stated anywhere on the website. Then to add insult to injury, having a bouncer look me in my face and tell me that if i were 25 I would need to drop $40 at 8:15 to get my family in the bar when the flyer on the website clearly says FREE before 9pm Just felt extremely disrespectful! And to make matters even worse, when we asked if he could have the manager come outside so we could speak with her, he said she was coming and then she never did. After 15 minutes we felt so insulted that we decided to leave! We are a pretty well off family and were ready to show this local establishment some love and instead we were met with disrespect. To the owner: You should know that other families from out of town will try in the future to enter your establishment. Make sure that you are not falsely advertising your specials and make sure that you make age requirements clear. People expect a 21 or older policy at a bar, anything other than that should be clearly specified on your website. This is ESPECIALLY the case if the 25 or older requirement is only for one day of the week.
Terrible place. It was over crowded with people. And the Bar service is terrible. Im still waiting to be served. I spent over 30 mins waiting to place a drink and food order with the too bartenders who provided service to one side of the bar and paid no attention to those of us on the other side.
Shanice the bartender was delightful and pretty. Made good Happy Hour drinks, with a smile and demeanar that will make me come back. As a Bklyn native, I wanted to find a bar in my neighborhood of Crown Heights that was Grown and Sexy and this fits the bill. Hoping for a new and cool time here in the near future

2022-05-18So it was my brothers 21st birthday and I took him out to have his first couple of legal drinks and this was the first place we tried because its close to my apartment. Groups of people smoking outside, like any other bar. We go inside only to find out that they had a 25 year old age limit.Edit: I couldnt respond to the owners comment for some reason, but this review is from 5 years ago in 2018 (I was editing my reviews in general and didnt realize it would bump it up as a recently done review). Im not even sure if this address is the same place now.

2019-12-09Made the best of it. My cousin paid to celebrate here birthday but the DJ left for over two hours only to return playing music that was not of her era. She turned 30. But us being the family that we are we had a great time being with each other and celebrating life.

2019-03-27I was pleasantly surprised by the decent service and trouble free atmosphere. Usually I hate going to local neighborhood bars because of the local drama, but this place was chill. On a Tuesday evening there was a D J and a packed house. I will definitely be coming back.

2019-11-10It may look small but had to the back and it opens up! Theres two bars on in the front and one in the back. The music the DJs played where good. The food isnt over priced but they do charge taxes on the food. I had brought two orders of wings and curly fries at $6 a piece, which should have been $18 but I paid $20.89 cause of taxes. They even sell seafood like crab legs! I only had one drink which costed me $6 and theres was no tax on the drink. They charge $3 for a bottle of water or you can get a free cup of water from a pitcher they keep in the refrigerator with the the Beer and sodas. There is room to dance on the floor between the tables against the wall and the bar. I am not a regular customer, in fact this was my first time going there. But do I think that this spot is great for either a quick bite and drink or to hold a celebration or small crowed party. Dont know how f I myself will be back due to how far I live away (Bronx), but its seems like a great neighborhood hangout.
