Went here on a Saturday to have my car photo inspected for collision insurance coverage. They were closed, even though the Carco website said they were open. I asked about the new hours and was told 8-6 M-F.The following Tuesday, I woke up early, paid for a car wash, and drove over, just to be told, by the same person from Saturday, their hours are 9-5.Dont waste your time coming here. If they cant get basic information about their hours right, they probably cant get complicated information about your car right, either.

I am not the type to write a Google review unless I feel that the owner or manager of an establishment has committed an egregious act against a customer, and my familys experience at New Hyde Park Car Care Center is nothing short of egregious. Earlier today, my brother came to New Hyde Park Car Care Center to get a New York State inspection and CARCO inspection (for insurance providers). My brother--who is a teenager and now owns his own car for the first time in his life--was told that the inspection was supposed to take a few hours. When he came to pick up his car, he was charged FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500). Yes, he was charged $500 for two inspections, one of which (CARCO) was supposed to be complimentary. The mechanics had apparently performed a ton of superfluous maintenance on the car--including, but not limited to, an alignment, a tire rotation, and an oil change--when the car RECENTLY HAD ITS OIL CHANGED AND IS TOO YOUNG TO EVEN NEED AN ALIGNMENT (it was manufactured in 2019). The mechanics NEVER OBTAINED (or even tried to obtain) MY BROTHERS CONSENT FOR THIS WORK. Please, for the sake of your financial stability, stay FAR AWAY from this mechanic. There is a mechanic about half a mile up the road on the corner of Marcus Avenue and Hillside Avenue (also at a BP station) who WILL NOT rip you off; its worth the extra drive.

These guys are the worst of the worst. Complete rip off artists. Brought my Lincoln LS in to have a coolant leak fixed. When I got the car back the air conditioning was blowing hot on one side. I have Geico unlimited mechanical breakdown on the car so I only pay a $250 deductible on any work that is done. These guys raped Geico for thousands of dollars to change the radiator and a whole host of other parts. I got the car back and still the same issue after they had the car for 2 weeks. They didnt put screws back into the bottom of the dash board and wires were left hanging out. After taking the car to the Lincoln dealership, the only thing wrong was a $25 thermostat harness had to be replaced and I was told none of the other work was necessary. These guys are crooks and have no idea what they are doing. They just want to take advantage of you. Stay away!!!!!!

We just switched our car insurance company and needed to get photo inspection done. We tried calling multiple body shops in our neighborhood and none were able to do this during the weekend, finally we got lucky with this place which was about to close but made an exception for me and took us in. The tech was super nice and explained the process and we greatly appreciate them accommodating us.

They wasn’t allowed me to do the photo inspection twice. Also, for the state inspection, they trying to rip me off for like $600 on a 15000miles new car. It’s ridiculous. I refused to repair it And went to another body shop. It was passed right away. I don’t know what they are trying to sell. Buyer should aware of that. Don’t do the inspection as well as repairing at this shop. They are likely to rip you off with no question ask.

Giving one star is even giving them a little credit.. they ripped me off increasing the price of an alternator. Oblivious to that fact I went back to get my cat changed and they supposedly did it without the gasket. They also wanted to change my flex pipe and told me it cost 3 times the price it actually cost. That was when I discovered they were ripping me off. I pick up my car and took it to someone else who agreed to do it of less than half the price these human beings were requesting... if you fancy not wasting money or getting ripped off. STAY FAR AWAY.....

As a taxi driver i was taken advantage of. my car broke down right behind the shop and they charged me 75 for towingAnd turns out the only issue was that the car needed to be reset by a push of a button in the back trunk for that they charged 2 hour labor. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC? WHAT EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT IS BENG USED? not for my job i was ripped off and not happyhow long does it take to push a button?they knew i was vulnerable and had no choice and they screwed me over. the guy name is JIM who was the one in charge on July 28 2016 from 11am-12pmCOMPLETE RIP OFF TOTAL CROOKS PLEASE AVOIDDO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU COULD GET BETTER SERVICE FOR A BETTER PRICE ELSE WHERE.

Jimmy And Gary are complete fleece masters. They bill you for parts they didn’t change. I think Gary is a little slow like he rode the special bus or something because every time you ask him a question he says I have to ask Jimmy. These guys break stuff on your car and charge you to fix it. Horrible operation. Stay away. Don’t go here!

Just needed a state insp. Tried to sell me on 4 struts, radiator hoses, battery ,air filters........ really. So yes to what a previous review said: They are STILL CROOKED.. Ive been working on cars for 30yrs so I know when something needs to be changed.so dont try to take me for a ride...Bottom line is I would not recommend. They get 1 star for getting my inspection done before lunch....
