This school has its flaws like all other schools, but there is potential for a great school and many strong people and leaders I feel have came out of this school. As I finish up my senior year and reflect on the previous 3, there has been ups and downs, left and rights, but this schools teachers and staff are passionate about teaching sustainable living and want to inspire greatness in all of their students. The community service this school has done for Ithaca speaks loudly to the empathetic teachings in the classroom.

I absolutely love (most) of the staff here. They have done so much to help me develop ways to cope with my behavioral disorders and have helped me learn so much. But, one staff member, Tina, isnt as likable due to the fact she has fired my student aid for no apparent reason and has fired the former music teacher on no grounds whatsoever.Other than her the environment is very supportive and kind and I would definitely recommend this highschool.

In freshman year, it was my best. Sophmore year, they decided to give us an expedition class that lasted about 2 hours. It was kind of wierd, and I would say it was a waste of my time every Tuesday. They also tried to convince me that they have control over me before 9, when school starts. I was going somewhere at around 8:30, well before class starts, and I got yelled at for going off campus? I did a lot for the school, and did fundraising. I did not feel appreciated toward my end, especially when I raised about 500 dollars with penny wars. I finally left. Very upset to hear about the music teacher getting the boot. I was part of the rock band, and even almost joined steel drum band. I gave one star, for great teachers and academics. Another star for the great music department with the music teacher.

Excellent alternative charter school. Enthusiastic and energetic teaching staff. Desired outcome is mastery of subject matter, not better test scores. Situated right in the midst of downtown Ithaca gives the students easy access to community events and opportunities.

Definitely a good environment for particular students, But it isnt a place for everyone. You get different kinds of attention here than a regular high School. I know many people who went here and graduated. my mother also was one of the people who founded the school and the work she put in to get this off the ground shows.

Terible place, broke my confidence, and tina can not be trusted. Jhakeem will get the worst of you.
