Good takeout food. I like the oxtail and beef ribs. They have a decent selection of main and side dishes. Its worth a try.
Great tasting food always...The chef is great too very nice, people oriented, patient and helpful to all his customers. Everything he cooks taste great. The woman server on weekends is the best as well. Hope to see her during the week too sooner than later. Shes very clean, nice and helpful too.
Good food most of the time, try the Mac and cheese, but a bit overpriced,12 dollars for a medium chicken plate and up, more than a few times lately, the food has been inedibly burnt. Burnt chicken and beef. Hope they get back to better cooking.
I didnt actually take pleasure in the food so much, Im not sure if it was expected to have heaps of burns below. If you do not like salted food, skip the bread.I only experienced there food as take out and discovered there grilled vegetables were excellent the portion was a great size and cooked to excellence, general I enjoyed my meal.I will be back to eat at this location again.
There should be a 0 zero star. I was so disappointed. I came from a far way. The restaurant looks dirty.outside and inside .the food was only in the back so you can’t see what they are doing. The turkey wings was disgusting the cabbage was not seasoned and the yams was cold. They have an “A” on the window. That’s a lie. Nothing “A”about it. I can’t believe they are still in business. I’m praying 🙏 I don’t get sick. SMH 🤦♀️
There was barely any meat on the oxtail. The rice was bland and dry. The Mac and cheese had no cheese. The jerk chicken was dry. Food taste old. Place looks dirty and dingy. Please avoid.I live in the neighborhood and wanted to give it a try but no good.
The foods are nasty 🤢 I ordered oxtails with Mac and cheese and rice and beans.They put too much juice in the container and it got all over my Mac and cheese. The oxtail tasted burnt and they was cheap with it too. The rice and beans also tasted burnt and nasty. I wasted my money. Save y’all money people and go uptown or Harlem to get your soul food
I arrived at this place and it was a dump, which is fine cause some of the best places to eat are dives just like this. I ordered about 7 different things only to be told theyre out of about 70% of their menu. Got Fried Chicken, with Mac and Cheese, candied yams and and a small side of corn. I asked the attendant specifically how many pieces of chicken are in the small, medium and large she says 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Since I was ordering for me and my family, I asked for a large order and aa medium order to make seven pieces of chicken. Got it home and was ready to dive into some soul food. Well, that was disappointing to say the least. I get home and got only 4 pieces of chicken. 2 in each order. So basically the larger size was just a bigger helping of the sides. Which pretty much shorts the family meal a few pieces of chicken. Moving on. I figured the Mac and Cheese would make up for the lack of chicken, I was wrong. Apparently the cook or the staff or both are heavy smokers, and the Mac and Cheese tray is where they ash. It sure tasted like that and I saw absolutely no burn marks on it so it leaves little room for any other excuse. The candied yams also had a tinge of smoke, but not as pronounced. Probably due to the spices in it. They both looked delicious though, very deceptive. That leaves the corn. That was good also, but it was pretty much loose corn either frozen or canned, and warmed up, no big deal their either. So in short, staff is either deceitful or unknowledgeable. Food is probably great if youre a 2 pack a day smoker. Call ahead and ask whats on the menu cause theres a better than great chance they wont have it. Meal cost me $22 dollars. Consider that money well spent to know where not to go. Had to throw out most of the food and order up something different. Too bad, I was hoping this would be the place to go more often.
This has GOT to be the worst food Ive ever tried to eat. Along with It taking over an 1 1/2 for delivery, when it came my food (fried fish, yams and collard greens), was all smashed together. Even though Id requested fish fried crispy it was, upside down in a pool of grease and liquid which made it wet & soggy. We ordered to eat with my aunt who had been eating hospital/nursing home food for 2 months, but nothing had any flavor and was so bad, even she couldnt eat it and her ribs were big hunks of fat. We threw it all in the garbage. I ordered half iced tea and half lemonade, which the lady that took the order, assured me they make the tea & lemonade. She lied, it was Snapple poured into a plastic container. I HATE Snapple.The delivery man said that if we ever come to the restaurant, they could make up for the long delivery by giving you a piece of cornbread, thats all they can do. Thats not all they can do, they can stop with the phoney reviews, learn to cook and wrap food properly for delivery or go out of buisness.
The food is amazing no matter what you get, huge portions, the lady behind the counter is so nice and friendly, prices are good.
Hubby and I have been here three times and the food has been fresh and very delicious I recommend this place and they give you alot of food too! This will be Our Go To Place😉👍
Its hard to find a restaurant that has oxtails, turkey wings, jerk chicken, and baked mac and cheese on the menu in this part of the Bronx. For that reason its appreciated. However, sides arent that great. Cabbage, string beans and collard greens seem under cooked at times. Prices seems to have increased as well.
I struggled between either 2 or 3 stars . For one, The food is good to decent depending on the day you get it. A coworker of mine got potato salad today that looked like potatoes swimming in tartar sauce.Two, I myself have had my fair share of troubles. I called on 3 different occasions where I couldnt even place an order because either A. The food ran out or B. The delivery man has left for the day. When you ask what time does delivery stop as a heads up, you get a reply of I dont know, depends on when he leaves. What? Lol and its hilarious because shes right. One time Ive called at 3ish, another time at about 4:15, and another at 5 PM and the delivery guy... had.. left.The last time I was actually ABLE to place an order, it got sent back because the person taking my order forgot to ask or write down my number -sighs-..All in all ... get it together. Please. Would really like to see that same excitement people got ordering from your restaurant when you first opened, back.
I come here sometimes to buy food since it is good. But what turned me off completely is the staff member lady that serves the food and collects the cash. This lady is rude and unprofessional. I ordered my food like I usually do and before I even get to tell her what type of drink I want she is too busy arguing (foul language cussing infront of my chid too, no respect) with another customer that wanted to order too. She then tried to cleanup her act and give me a half ass smile after she done kicked this customer out of the shop in my face. This has to be the most disrespectful thing I have ever seen. Was looking for the manager but he was no where in site. I feel bad for this lady she seem angry/unhappy. Anyway food is good but the server is no good for business. (save the business plz i refer ppl here but now idk).
Placed an order on GH on 4/6/20 @1:20pm. Order went thru and the money was withdrawn. By 3:30pm, no order, delivery or call. Called the restaurant, no live person, just option to leave vm. Went on GHs website, this restaurant doesnt give refunds. Out of $30 bucks and food. Thank you
This place is the most dishonest Jamaica restaurant of all times ya si! This Mon! Puts old food with news food an think his food amazing! My “Oxtail” I had bones from Adam ribs! Fresh an old bones! The food was well seasoned yet old food , sold to the public.
The food is consistently well prepared and tasty, workers gives great customer service. I like how clean it is and mood. Would recommend to others.
Ordered twice from grub hub and the food was good despite the bad reviews. I just think it wasnt really nothing to write home about so maybe some are disappointed, but still over all tasty and the portions are huge!
I went here for the first time for carryout, and ordered bbq chicken with mac and cheese, and yams. The bbq was burnt with black charcoal on it and you can taste it more than the sauce!! The mac and cheese is elbows with a layer of cheese and salty as hell. The yams were all cinnamon and no sugar.😝This is not real soul food...hold your money! I never write reviews, but this was a particular situation! On my way to Chipotle!
Thee worst Soul food Ive ever eaten. I took 2 bites and threw the whole plate in the trash. The food looked old. Money wasted. This restaurant needs to be closed. If I get food poisoning, Im suing.

Well first of all my food was late.my so called BBQ chicken was just chicken back no meat just bones...my child we had ribs because all we had was bones no meat...nasty can corn never order they ox tails the worst ox I ever had in my life....#neveragain

First they throw their food in small containers you will never succeed if you have an attitude that you don’t care. That’s my opinion. The food was horrible.

2022-06-10The food is nasty and the people are rude as hell. Do yourself a favor and dont even bother spending your hard earned money on them not even a dollar. Try any other jamaican restaurant but them. As a business your customers are supposed to feel welcome the server gave me so much attitude because she was not paying attention and got my order wrong. Then going to say Im going to start tell people write there order down no stop being rude and do your job. Plus they tried to charge me a dollar extra for now reason.This is not my first time I been there many of times. Do better B.

2020-07-22Please dont let the look of the place fool you. The food here has lay it down written all over it. The portions are more than enough and it all gets cooked in the back with what is no doubt someones GG (GREAT GRAND) recipe book. Dont forget to grab dessert. I really cant say enough about the food. 2021-10-29I ordered oxtails, collards greens and sweet potatoes side of Mac and cheese. It was awful. The greens was very grainy it felt like it wasnt wash well. The oxtails no taste like idk what that was . I couldnt eat it wind up throwing it all away. Omg. I ordered on and off but this time it wasnt any love in that food. Omg. Very disappointed.

2021-08-08If I can give zero stars I would I ordered two plates of oxtail with Macaroni and cheese the oxtail was tough like it wasnt cooked long enough the Mac&cheese was cheese less and watered down. I use to eat here a lot before the the pandemic and the food use to be cooked a little better.

2020-07-03I’ve went here about 3-4 times already and the food usually always the same, the bbq chicken was pretty dry, the Mac n cheese had barely any cheese and flavor, and the candy yams were somehow watery. There are definitely better soul food places out there.
