Only good thing to say about NYBG! The staff makes you feel very comfortable when you could be uncomfortable about your own personal situation. I’m just at the beginning stages of the process but all has gone smoothly so far.
Dr.Chipman, Jen Weston PA and her staff go above and beyond. I’m so glad I went with NYBG. They make you feel like family and they take awesome care of their patiences. I highly recommend them!
Dr. Candice Chipman is a tremendous Bariatric Surgeon and a great doctor. Most importantly she is a fantastic human being. She has a wonderful bedside manner and is truly an expert in her field.Having Bariatric Sleeve Surgery is a is a very personal journey and having Dr. Chipman by my side made all the difference.If anyone is considering Bariatric Surgery, I would highly recommend working with Dr. Chipman. She is absolutely incredible!In addition, the staff is top notch! Emma at the front desk is extremely helpful, always pleasant and professional. Also, all of the PAs that I have interacted with over the past year have been superb. Especially Jen.
Everyone is super professional, and personable. Every appoinent was on time, if not early, and the office is very good at reminding you multiple times about upcoming appointments.
What can I say. Arrived a little early, registered in. Five minutes later Im walking in to the endoscopy room. Tap the vein, out cold in minutes, 50 or so minutes later Im coming around and getting ready to be sent home. A model of efficiency. Thanks to all and now I can enjoy the rest of my day off!

Everything went well except due to COVID 19 had to call a number to tell them you were there and it isn’t the front desk and the person didn’t alert the front desk so I waited 45 minutes after my appointed time. However wxcellent service inside.
The Islandia office which is the one that I go too has a phenomenal staff I love my doctor.
The staff is friendly and answers as many questions you might have. They do not rush you out the door. I highly recommend this company.

2022-03-07I had a great experience. I was with another bariatric surgeon and left them for MYBG, so glad I did. Everything to start your journey to weight-loss is in house. Dr Angstadt is wonderful and kind, his wife too, such a great group. If your thinking about bariatric surgery and are on LI, I highly recommend Dr Angstadt from the Islandia office.

2021-09-18Dr. JOHN D. ANGSTADT is an amazing man. He was so easy to like and made me feel completely comfortable. He is an honest man and a straight talking man. He explained the whole process and even made my husband think about doing the surgery also. He is amazing.

2021-09-21Each time I have had to go to the NY Bariatric Group for a routine visit. Or for a procedure, I have found that any anxiety I have about the visit is completely set aside by the attitudes and demeanor of the wonderful staff. I have been to both the West Islip office and the Islandia office, and have had similar experiences. From the reception area, the nurses, Eva, the PA, the anesthesiologists and of course, Dr. Cussatti himself. Everyone is very kind and helpful...and well informed. Besides the expertise and bedside manor of your doctor, it is important that his staff represent a reflection of him. Dr Cussattis expertise is unquestionable, and he is amazing to talk to. His staff in both offices faithfully reflect the level of care and the empathy that coincides with Dr. Cussattis.

2021-04-22I made an appointment two weeks in advance. Three days before they call me and cancel my appointment. I then get rescheduled and take off of work. They give you a list of instructions to be seen. I wait 2 hours to get a COVID test at an urgent care prior to my visit, i dont eat for 4 hours like instructed to do so. I show up to the appointment for them to tell me someone called me at 2pm (3 hours before my appointment) and left a voicemail that it has been canceled. So i show up to be told the doctor could not see me and was told THREE HOURS VIA VOICEMAIL. Do not waste your time these people are not worth it. Go to Stony Brook Bariatric. I promise you they actually value their patients time and health.
