Ok the question every one wants answered: Prices. Try this: $210 for a party of 9 and half of us brought unfinished meals home. VERY AFFORDABLE and family friendly. The cleanliness and service was OUTSTANDING and when told about a birthday in the group they treated him like a rock star. The food was very good, they cook it to your liking and bring your appetite because the portions are huge. The fries and deserts were exceptionally good and the gluten free options were excellent too. If you want to find a problem the ONLY complaint would be the limited parking. Highly recommend.
Was driving nearby with my wife and she said she wanted a cheeseburger. A Hey Google and some sitting through results we pulled up and got a parking spot right in front. Was a game day and TVs were active but not overwhelming like they can be in some places. Our server helped us get the best selection to match my wifes desire and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We expect to be back here again.
The staff was polite and very friendly. They offered us drinks while we waited. Ordered to-go given the current state of things. Asked if we could wait outside and they didnt hesitate to offer a table we could comfortably sit at. They did have indoor dining available and its a cozy place inside. A great place to enjoy a meal with someone. Food was delicious and well packed. The portion size did not disappoint either. We will be visiting again. Thank you for your great service.
Been here 3 times and the food hasn’t disappointed once. Service has been good every time and the tables are spacious. Only complaint I have is that last night there was no beer menu, I had to get up and look at the board, which wasn’t a big deal but I’m sure other people will complain about that as well.
The best burger I ever had before. I had a mix between Mac and cheese and a beef burge all together I’m one shot . No words to describe the mix of flavors in your mouth and mid. Is a must ! Give it a tryAnd I can’t forget they milkshake 😜 crazy too.For a day to misbehave and still have fun I do recommend it.
Poutine seemed a little metallic. Probably because of the pan it came on or it just the gravy wasnt that great. Cheese curds were amazing. Great service. Cozy and definitely worth a try. Serving size was just perfect too. Milkshakes were outstanding. My mom liked the burger she said it was up there on the list. ☺️
Excellent pandemic precautions! We went to eat outside, but while we were ordering it started raining, luckily there was only 1 other table eating inside so we were able to continue inside. Everyone working was extremely friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The food was absolutely amazing (but it always is).
I have never been here, but rather ordered via Uber Eats. I had hot wings and a burger with regular fries. My wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and truffle fries. The hot wings werent the least bit hot and the wings themselves were way too chewy and quite offputting. I can almost forgive bad dressing if the wing is cooked well. Its almost as if these were frozen and then thrown right into a fryer. Chicken should be soft, not chewy. While the burger was cooked well, I didnt particularly like the flavor. The description sounded so good and I really didnt taste most of the flavors, unfortunately. The fries were undercooked, aside from being cold and soggy due to being inside a box for delivery (to be expected).I might have ordinarily chaulked this up to it being partially due to delivery, but a friend has been there twice pre-covid and has never enjoyed anything he ordered. So sadly, I will not return.
Great food & service. Showed up without a reservation & sat at the bar with my family. Best move. The female bartenders were friendly, great & made the most amazing shakes right in front of us. Oh yeah, the food, the Burgers were outstanding. Very tasty, cooked perfectly & the fries are a must!!! Enjoy
Excellent food and great variety of burgers. The manager on Saturday night was very helpful when my sister passed out before dinner. He brought over ginger ale and orange juice as her sugar went low, and checked back at the table several times after the meals arrived. Great guy!!!
Great food, great service. My wife and I went for lunch. She ordered off the lunch menu, I got a burger off the regular menu. Beer selection would meet most patrons needs. The Hells Kitchen burger had some spice to it but didnt really have too much of a kick. Well balanced overall. The menu is a bit pricey but the food reflects that.
I’m not sure what the hype is about this place because the food is mediocre at best. I called on my way to put our names on list and we were told it would be about an hour and a half wait. We were ok with that and got a few drinks at the bar while we waited. I did notice while we were waiting was the lack of staff they have. How do you expect to turn over tables when you don’t have enough waitstaff? There was really no reason for such a long wait and the wait times could easily be cut down by staffing the restaurant properly. After we sat down and our food came out, we weren’t impressed. The honey bbq wings weren’t the best. My buffalo chicken sandwich came out cold. They did heat it up for me, but the buffalo sauce tasted sour. They also didn’t have wet napkins for your hands after eating the wings. Our waitress was very nice though.
One of the best burgers Ive had in a long time. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. It would have received a full five stars except for two things. First, the place is a little expensive. I understand that they have to make money and I didnt feel ripped off, but a burger lunch for four with onion rings cost nearly $100, so take that as you will. Second, during a pretty empty time in the restaurant for lunch, it took a very long time to receive our food. I would like to believe it is because everything is made fresh and things like onion rings could take a long time to batter, but its worth noting.Regardless of those two things, this place is worth checking out!
I placed an order for pick up and the service was great and staff was super nice. The food however is a different story. I ordered a Juicy Lucy, 2 sliders with sweet potato fries, a buffalo chicken sandwich, and their bavarian pretzel. The sliders were dry and tasteless, the juicy lucy was juicy, but again literally no flavor. The pretzel was a bit cold, but good as well as the dipping sauces. The buffalo chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries were the only saving grace of this meal. $60 for an overall bland and under mediocre meal, is asinine. So much for #1 burger by Newsday...
We had dinner at New York Burger Bar after a dat at the beach and I must say it was a great idea. I had the chicken salad with goat cheese and raspberry vinegrette. It was excellent! What made our visit more special was our waitress. I hope I get her name right but Jennifer (or Jenny) was too sweet and very attentive. My friend had the salad with tune (it looked and smelled amazing), and my boys had a sunday. We will definitely go again and recommend this place to everyone visiting the area.Four star because I ordered the salad without nuts and it arrived with walnuts. To chefs, please be careful. It can be dangerous. Other than that, great place to eat!
Great 2nd experience. The 1st one was at least two years ago, so I do not remember enough of the experience to do a review justice. Bar was empty, but Erin our server was super engaged and attentive. I had the breakfast burger with the egg. It was wonderful. The Moscow Mule was perfect. I WILL be back.....
Burger was good...paid for it the next day tho. Really ran right through me. Second time this happened to me. Maybe the oil in the deep fryer needs to be changed more offten. I mean I really exploded. Good happy hour deals tho. Friendly staff. Maybe would go again haven’t decided yet.
Service was good and burger was good. That’s about it. I was charged for a small little cup of side sauce which says on the menu that it comes with it but I never received it. The Mac and Cheese balls had no taste and were cold and the wings tasted good but not properly prepared just breaded chicken. Very disappointed
Dined here during the week and arrived to a 1/2 empty restaurant at 8pm. Was seated immediately but waited for 20 minutes before being approached for anything.. contemplated whether we should walk out. Ordered a medium rare burger as I figured being a burger place, they would be on point with this. I would hate to see what WELL DONE looks like as my medium rare burger was so dead, I couldnt eat it. Our server kept apologizing for her poor service and the Owner came over and apologized for a kitchen issue. This place came highly recommended by friends, and at this point, Im really sorry that I dined here.
Live down the street from here and always wanted to try it. Sorry to say I wasted my time and money going here. After walking into a half empty restaurant then waiting 45 minutes for our order they messed up my first order which I sent back just for them to mess it up the second time; I just ate it to get a meal in me and walk out. The beer was good but that’s pretty tough to mess up. If you like over cooked burgers and long waits this is your place
I visited New York Burger Bar in Massapequa on Wednesday 11/29/17 at around 8pm.Having been here previously and having a good experience, I decided to return for a burger and a beer.I had a Blue Point Toasted Lager while I looked at the menu and decided on what type of burger I was going to have. I decided to build my own burger, so I choose the 8oz proprietary blend of beef, Swiss cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, avocado and a fried egg. The bartender who took my order wasn’t very friendly, but she was attentive. Upon arrival, my burger had great visual presentation. The handcut fries were small pieces and a little overcooked, but I was more interested in the burger. After taking a bite or two of the burger, I realized that my burger was well done instead of medium rare, which is how I ordered it. Since it took a while to come out, plus it was getting late, and the bartender seemed unaware, I decided to eat it and not say anything. When I was done eating, she came over to clear my plate and asked how everything was. Better late than never I guess. I told her that I felt like my burger was overcooked. She apologized and sent over a manager, who offered us dessert and comped my burger.I said this in another review and I’ll say it again. To the chefs/cooks working in the kitchens at burger joints, learn how to properly cook and temp your burgers. That’s all you cook, you have to get it right!I’m deducting one star because the bartender wasn’t friendly and I’m deducting another star because the burger was completely over cooked.I’d still return and give it another chance.
We returned here for the second time since the reopening and we are SO happy this restaurant is back!!!!Tonight we were a party of 7 and everyones food was amazing... Our waiter Joe was TERRIFIC!!!! He was super attentive, pleasant, accommodating, and overall genuine... Even if the food was just ok, our experience with our waiter would have prompted is to return just based on the service...Our food was awesome as usual and the drinks were made correctly (according to my husband).... I cant say enough good things about this restaurant... Being a local and dining out often, I cant honestly say that this is the best burger restaurant in town!!My review has been updated from previous ones and after visiting here often, I only had one off night where our service wasnt that great, but everyone can have an bad night... And that review was still 4 stars... Love love love NY Burger Bar!
While set in a casual bar, the burger is anything but casual. This is a premium burger spot. Their proprietary blend of meat sets it apart from the rest. My favorite is The Juicy Lucy. If you dont like any choices on the menu, you can custom make your own burger. My kids love the shakes. Great craft beer selection.
We have eaten here over a dozen times and yes sometimes is busy and for a buisness owner that is a good thing, sorry Cameron theres a wait and you were looking for free food or drink but at my restaurant I wouldnt have gave you nothing either. Apparently your what we like to call a pain in the ass customer. But the burgers are great here much better then George Martins up a few blocks and everyone is very nice..congrats on your success and thank you for making my crazy burger with everything on it,NO BUN you guys are awesome
Superb, unique burger bar in Massapequa that has some of the best gourmet burgers, craft beer and tasty treats! Its fairly off the beaten path, so you have to know about it to try it, but once you do, you will find this to be Massapequas unique local favorite! The staff here is very accommodating as well, as we came here with a group of 15 people and they took us right away, so we appreciate that very much!
Where to begin....Got the fried cheese curds that were over done(the filling melted and emptied while it fried leaving an empty shell) and not drained at all. Ordered the Mac and cheese burger and I was actually amazed how they could get so many different ingredients on a burger yet have it be so bland. For a burger place first thing should be cooked to order....I asked for medium well got 2 different colors of pink...after waiting well over 30 mins and getting the appetizer 2 mins before the burgers on top of getting stuck in these micro tables they use that are only a little bigger than the plates the use and pack in so tight it forces you to get a face full of your neighbors butt or crotch when they have to get up. I wanted more to get out of the place vs wait another 30 for an insanely bland burger. I guess they cooked the bacon among burgers because that is all it tasted like. Both the cheese sauce and mac patty were flavorless and the patty was again fresh fried and not drained at all and actually hotter than the burger. Cant imagine this place will be here long with service like this or a bill that was $75 for 2 basic beers 2 burgers and 1 appitizer....
We waited literally an hour for just burgers and fries. It wasnt even a busy evening. The manager said they were backed up because an order got messed up. It doesnt take an hour to make burgers and fries. He didnt even offer to pay for anything or take the drinks off of our checks. I do not recommend and I would never go back. The burgers didnt even taste good enough to wait more than 10 minutes.
Called in an order to go, now I am probably one of the most difficult people you can have give you a call. The man who answered the phone had to be one of the most friendly people Ive spoken with. I asked if they could keep the fries open so they do t get soggy as it was to go. After I suggested that when it came time to the brownie desert with ice cream he suggested I wait until Im home to have the brownie warm as of I heat it up to pick up it may get cool and wont be as satisfying. Not sure what more you could ask for from a on the phone order but I will be calling back. Besides that the food was delicious and they have a juicy Lucy. Thats a burger stuffed with cheese and it oozes out like nacho cheese....
Very good burger, great truffle fries but EXTREMELY expensive!!! Truth be told, the Massapequa Diner makes as good of a burger, if not better, for less than half the price. That said, NY Burger Bar is easily better than the outrageously overrated All American across the street!
Great Service and craft Burgers and Beers. Comfortable setting with able staff but bring your appetite. My burger was topped with braised short ribs, my daughter had fried Mac-n-cheese atop hers. A pair of milk shakes round out the menu which are a meal in themselves. Share, Share, Share.
Not the hostess or bartender greeted us, and it was not crowded. My husband and I asked to place our burgers in a lettuce wrap.Place had a musty smell. Our burgers were dry on a bed of lettuce. We have eaten burgers all over the country. This was a disappointment and will not go back.
Pricier than BareBurger but well worth it. The ingredients are lush and plentiful. They create an assortment of well dressed burgers, all while achieving a proper placement of items, such that it is a Burger and not falling all over the place like a platter. Definitely going back.
The service was horrible, ordered two burgers which took an hour just to get them!! the bartenders had such nasty attitudes and they didnt even offer to comp us for anything on an $80 bill which included a mixed drink and 2 appetizers they just all around clearly dont care about their customers or giving them a good experience
Attended here with a friend. The time is clearly listed as closing at 11 online. We arrived at 9:50 after driving 45 minutes to get there. When we walked in the manager said the kitchen was closed since they were slow, he decided to close early. He did not show an remorse so We went to tai show down the road for sushi. No matter how slow they are they always stay open to the time listed!! Wont be back to burger bar
I came to nybb with high expectations especially with their proclaimed #1 burger by Newsday.Starting this off by saying that the hostess and bar staff were absolutely delightful, and worked with us and our awkward party situation, but that was the only positive part of my experience. The parking is nonexistent. We parked in the lot directly behind the building, where one of the entrances is located. Apparently we ran the risk of being towed, and I had to park a few blocks away on the side street.Portion sizes were very small, especially for +$8 appetizers. For $16 I ordered supposedly the best burger on Long Island, medium rare, and was served a bland hockey puck with napalm cheese inside. Hungry, and without the time to wait for another, I ate the burger. The fries I feel were so greasey that I can only assume the potato was there to garnish the oil. There are many delicious, inexpensive, consistent, and down right sinful options for burger joints in Massapequa. Sadly, I do not feel that New York Burger Bar can be counted amongst them. The happy hour deals are the only thing that I enjoyed, and felt were worth the trip.Edit: luckily, my experience above was the only bad experience I have had since going to nybb. It seems my first visit must have been a fluke. I think they are a bit more on the pricy side of things
Waitress sucked. Food was not worth the money. We asked for water and waited 15 mins for it. And while we were waiting for our waters and drinks the Waitress was gossiping with other wait staff. She rarely came to our table she was more focused on the other tables. And when asked for more drinks she ignored us. Also my friend got sick from the boneless wings. Wont be going back
Never again. Ordered off door dash. Fries were burnt to hell (tastes burnt as well) only thing good was that they were crispy. Buffalo chicken sandwich looked like they got one from the food store frozen food section and slapped microwaved bacon with a hero bun (disgusting). Ontop of all that....it made me sick....2am throwing it up because my body rejects trash food.... woke up with stomach pains this morning...never order again...wont even eat the chili I have left for lunch today...wont even give it to my dogs the food was that bad.
Took the Drive from Queens all the way out to Massapequa to New York Burger Bar for great burgers and fun times . The place is high energy and has Great Amazing Burgers . Love the Marshmallow sauce for dipping French Fries In ! 👍👍👍👍The only complaint is its far from my home they need to open one closer to Queens
I totally understand that things get busy and mistakes happen, but this is some of the worst service I have ever had. It wasnt even busy. The food took way too long to come out and the orders were messed up. I dont know what it was I ate, but I was so sick from it the day after that I literally thought I was going to die.

2022-04-222nd review 2022~I chose New York Burger Bar again because I have been here a few times and like the food and the atmosphere but tonight was different. We sat at the bar for drinks and dinner instead of the dining room. It was a nice switch up because we had the perfect bartender named Nino. He was very attentive and quite charismatic. He really added some unexpected fun to our night.I had the Greek salad with grilled chicken & red wine vinaigrette which was so fresh and very delicious. I took half home. Yes, I know its a burger bar but I wanted a salad. My friend had the Belmont steak burger & her daughter ordered the Mac attack burger. They both enjoyed their meals. We already made a plan to come back here the next time we meet up. See you next time Nino.1st review in 2021~Brought my family here today and what a treat it was. Our waitress was very friendly. I wish I got her name so her boss could see this. Speaking of her boss, he brought a free sample of their newest item, pork wings with Asian Sauce for us to try and they were absolutely delicious. I didnt even get to take a picture of them because we devoured them so fast. My son ordered the Mac attack Burger, my sister got the grilled chicken with avocado sandwich and I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with coleslaw. Everything was excellent. We will be back for sure.

2022-06-16Excellent food, excellent service for a considerably busy night, pretty wide menu selection. Most restaurants that dont necessarily devote their craft to making burgers often times will cook your burger slightly off kilter. But this place gets it spot on every time. This isnt all that important to me, but its impressive to see that much attention to detail. The only thing is I dont recall seeing a menu section for beers, only cocktails. That may be more convenient for beer connoisseurs.Overall, would reccomend.

2022-03-27Overcooked burgers. Concept is great but did not meet expectations today. We definitely did not have the experience of the other reviewers. Cute place though and great place to watch sports.

2022-03-09My wife and I have been going here for over a year. I persuaded another couple to go here for dinner with us on a Saturday Night, waited an hour (next time reservations will be made), their chicken sandwich and steak sandwich was perfect, but my wife and I had the Juicy Loosey Burger, both were very disappointing (surprised), the burgers were the size of a meatball, very dry, and well done. Disappointed...

2020-12-15Great place! I will definitely be returning. Food was fantastic, my Kobe beef burger was cooked to perfection. I loved the sweet potato fries with marshmallow dipping sauce, drink menu great too 👍 this is a good place to stop if you are in the area for a nice selection of burgers and drinks!

2020-12-14I came in once for my birthday and I hope to find the time to come back. The meals were satisfying and the bartender kept me informed while I was waiting. I give it a pass for now.

2022-06-16Good service, good burgers and nice atmosphere. Nice place if your in the mood for a burger, but a little over priced for burgers and fries.

2022-01-02This place is a hidden gem down the block from my house. I drive past it every day sometimes twice a day and havent ever seen it. I was with some family from out of town and in looking for a burger place not too far decided to try it. 10 thumbs up from me. Burgers were delicious, great portion size and reasonable prices. The menu has a lot on there that I want to go back and try. The wait staff was polite and wonderful. I am so happy I came here and will be going back!!

2018-07-09Picked up a to go order on recomendation from a friend. Place seems pretty good and im interested in trying more food and will likely return. The food was a bit pricey compared to even other premium burger places and i wasnt blown away by the burger. It was tasty and of good quality but i didnt prefer the way the burger is formed as a very thick small patty kinda like a ball. I like a burger to be about an inch at most thick and a wide bread sized patty so you can get all flavors in each bite. I will give this place another shot becsuse it was tasty and there were other items that appealed to me. I just dont often spend 26 bucks on a burger and fries. The sweet potato fries kinda fell flat with bein a bit of a soggy salty mess and the whipped marshmallow sauce didnt have enough sweetness to combat the salty moosh of fries. Perhaps a lighter hand in applying salt or a touch of cinnamon to the mashmallow could help. The location itself is pretty nice with that rustic urban cowboy style common amongst these types of places. I didnt get a drink but did notice their selection was nice for both beers and liquors. I will upgrade my review if my next meal warrants a more memorable experience.
