Just moved to NY, so I was looking for a barbershop. My mans did a great job with the fade cut as well as my top. This is my go-to spot in NY now!

Barber was friendly and professional. He asked me what kind of hairstyle I want/used to have and he gave me his input on what he thinks would look good with my head shape. I made the final decision after hearing his opinion and I am satisfied with the outcome. Its different than what Im used to, but in a good way!
First time customer, but definitely won’t be my last. Sam was really professional and gave me great tips on how to get rid of my cowlick. The haircut looks great, and my wife said it was the best haircut I’ve ever got before I told her I went to a new place. Cant recommend these guys enough.
Sam is the best in the business for haircuts. Before I switched over to Sam, I used the same person for almost 10 years, was nervous about the change to someone new but Sam does an amazing job every time. If you do not use him, please start to do so. He listens to everything you say and what you want done and he executes every time and remembers what you want each time you come back. Very COVID friendly set up and takes all necessary precautions to ensure everyone is safe.

I moved to Kips bay two years ago and have been to several barber shops around the area before discovering this place. This is my favorite barber shop and have been going here every three weeks since. Sam does a great job and haircuts here are a great value at only $20.Definitely would recommend this place for anyone looking for a new barber. Their store location is a little hidden so look for the bright lights or the big Barber shop sign.

Coming from Miami, my son was excited to get a real New York haircut. We were not disappointed! The owner arrived on time and not only provided an excellent haircut to my son, but he was polite and offered drinks to all who entered. I cannot recommend and N Y C Barber Shop enough! Classic Barbershop NY has been my go-to place for over a year now and I couldnt be happier. Sam always makes sure all his clients are taken care of and get exactly what they want. He makes himself available whenever you are in a pinch and will open early or stay late if that means he leaves with one more satisfied customer. The best barbershop I have been too. The highest quality haircut for a very reasonable price. Just by looking at how fast and well they cut the hair, you could tell that they have years and years of experience doing this. Nicest people that you can ever meet as well. 1st time going, great price & quality hair cuts
I’ve been coming here for a year. I was initially reluctant to come to a new barber after going to my UES barber for 5 years. Sam and his staff immediately put my doubts to rest! Sam charges reasonable prices for excellent cuts. He listens very carefully to what you want and cuts your hair efficiently, and unlike other barbers doesn’t try to get away with just the buzzer. Sam is also accessible 24/7 via text and will always try and find a time for you to come in with attention to your scheduling constraints. I couldn’t be happier coming to Classic Barbershop NY. Ive been coming here for almost 8 years and over the last 3 or 4, Sam is the reason I keep coming back. Hes attentive to the details and takes his time to understand what you want while still getting you in and out quickly without feeling rushed. He remembers your name and preferences and is easy to talk to. With a straight edge touch up and hot towel included, its also a steal of a haircut for the price. I always walk out satisfied - highly recommend this place.

Not bad, but they took a big uneven chunk off the left side even though I had clearly communicated as best I could that it was short enough on that side. You need to be very very specific about what you want and I guess even then its not quite enough. The people seem nice but distracted by one another and barely said more than a couple sentences to me. Will most likely not be going back unless dire circumstances.

Great fade, I’m always happy with the result. I started coming here because it was close to my office. Haven’t been in the office due to covid but I still travel here from Brooklyn to get a fresh fade.I’ve also been cutting my own hair for years because I’m very picky with the look I’m going for. I sat down and didn’t give any instruction other than that I wanted a skin fade and he nailed it! I’ve been coming here ever since.

I’ve been coming here consistently for 3+ years to see Sam. He’s a great barber and entrepreneur, and recently bought the whole business from the previous owner. I couldn’t be more excited to recommend the shop now that Sam is running the whole show—he’s the most consistent barber I’ve ever had for tough, thin hair, and he’s renovating slowly now to upgrade the shop and wait (e.g., he just put in a new TV and is playing better music now). I decided to get a faded Low Mohawk haircut but wasn’t sure where on the east side, as I was walking and looking there Classic NY Barber Shop looked me right in the face than the sign at the front of the store had a price of $20 max for any haircut. best in town. Mike who spoke not much gave me exactly what I was looking for as he worked his magic and skills to give me the perfect haircut. Both Barbers were friendly and shop is kept well. Sam and Mike are great! I came on a recommendation from a coworker whos got an incredible fade and wasnt disappointed. I sometimes have trouble finding barbers because theyre very strict in style (I like to keep more volume on top to let it grow out layered) but when I walked in Sam said tell me what you want and well make it happen. Final cut was perfect!

Nothing bad at all to say about this Barber shop. I don’t get haircuts too often, but Sam always remembers what type of cut I get. He works fast, but is exact and very careful, sharpening up, and touching up where need be. Great place.

Great service and consistently good haircuts. They go out of their way to be helpful and even reopened the shop after closing hours so that I could get a haircut before an important meeting. Best cut in the city, especially at this price ($20). I came here because all the barbers in Brooklyn have become ridiculously expensive. It is a relatively small shop but I went at 6.30pm on a Thursday and didnt have to wait. The barber ( I didnt get his name) was very friendly and professional, asking me how I styled my hair, how long it had been since my last haircut etc. He was efficient and quick but didnt rush. He used the straight razor to tidy up the back which is always a nice touch. Best cut ive had in the city in a long time. I couldnt recommend them enough

Sam is the man. I went to him when I first moved to the city and was in Murray hill. 3 years ago I moved to Fidi to be closer to work and still make the trek up once a month just to come to him. Worth going out of your way.

Very friendly and professional place. if I were to nit pick, only knock I can think of is that some of the barbers dont speak great english.however, before the guys start, the owner comes over to make sure nothing gets lost in translation. owner really values his customers and even gives little holiday gifts. granted, they were gimmicky pens, but the fact that he gave his customers something at a time of year when most barbers & hair stylists are expecting gifts, says it all... great guys.

2022-02-02Figured Id try this spot due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews. However, it turns out the reason they have such great ratings isnt because of their exceptional service, but rather because they pressure all their customers into leaving 5 star reviews. Normally this wouldnt bother me except it was quite clear that the gentleman cutting my hair was more interested in getting me out of there as fast as possible than he was in actually giving me a good hair cut. Nonetheless, I agreed to leave a positive review. It wasnt until I got home later that I realized there was a chunk of hair missing from the back of my head. Im a very understanding person, and Im sure even the best barbers make mistakes sometimes, but the fact that he didnt let me know and still charged me full price is pretty slimy. I get the feeling the owner is more concerned with growing his business than he is with providing a good service.

2022-01-17Sam is an amazing baber!It took a few trials here and there for me to find the right barber after moving to NYC. After I found Sam, Ive only been going there.He is knowledgeable and professional. He does a real good job and tries to accommodate any request I have. After a few visits, he knows what I want so I dont even have to explain and Im always satisfied with his work. This is definitely the best barbershop around the area!

2022-03-02The barber did not even listen (or did not understand) to what I said but just cut my hair the way he wanted. I ended up with a lot shorter cut to what I intended. Good price (can pay with a card) but you might not get what you want.

2021-10-13I went to get my vacation haircut here! Sam is best at his job. I got the best hair cut and beard shave that suits me. The barbers are very friendly and had were good to speak to. 2021-10-18Ive gotten my haircut by both barbers here. They do a nice job, they are very friendly, and they remember their customers. I dont even need to explain what I want. I just say the usual, and they remember without hesitation. Its an excellent value, and you get a discount for paying in cash.
