Wasnt as interactive as it was in the past. At the time of writing this a good portion of the exhibitions were close. I would suggest you call to see if the Hall is in full operation. The new augmented reality exhibition was cool for the kids though but that was really it. At this moment it was not worth the price of admission
Let’s start with the biggest problem. Make sure when you come here you have on shorts, a tank top, and even sandals. It was quite literally a sauna in here. Or a breeding ground for germs. And it wasn’t just my family who was hot, everyone was complaining how hot it was. No AC, no airflow and it just made me more irritated with the lack of everything. When I was a kid, we used to come to this place all the time. My favorite part was the main science floor with the experiments and bubbles and propeller bike. I came here with my 2 year old. The exhibits they had on the main floor were the same as they had when I was a kid over a decade ago. My kid enjoyed some of it, but really the thing she really enjoyed was the preschool place because of toys. All the other exhibits were above her age. I understand they said they are rebuilding but, this place really isn’t worth the price of the tickets and the price of parking. We spent an hour and a half total here, and that’s with about an hour in the play place. The gift shop was closed, which was a bit disappointing considering there were about 7 people at the front desk. Considering the mark up of the gift shop, I’m surprised they wouldn’t be open for business sake. The highlight of my day was watching the gentleman in the play place (I think his name was Clarance.) play and interact with my child. He encouraged her that she could do it, and that she could play. She kept trying to hand him blocks and he’s like “No it’s okay, you can do it” he can was great.
Pretty decent place. more targeted towards a younger audience but overall its pretty good. it gets 4 stars bc as a teenager i did not enjoy it as much as my five year old cousin surely did. however it has a lot to do and lots to see. heres some pics of my fav exhibit from here. pretty fun and chill. theres even an outside to golf thing, except MAKE SURE YOU GUYS GET BETTER W THE GOLF RULES !! bc there were some rude little kids who kept coming in and not letting my cousin play because they took up the golf course and that was not fair to my poor cousin. otherwise it was wonderful, keep up the good work !
Great space for kids of all ages. There were plenty of exhibits to touch and interact with. Some exhibits were closed for renovations and repairs when we visited on June 25th 2022. The missing exhibits didnt put a damper on our visit. We spent approximately 3 hours at the museum and enjoyed every minute. The museum staff were exceptionally courteous and made a point to say hello to us every time we saw them. Our kiddo had exclaimed wow, its so COOL! when we walked in due to the high heat outside and the cool A/C inside. The museum staff in the lobby made a point to say, are you staying cool? to our kid and it really was a treat. Its really nice to visit a museum and not feel like you are being shuffled from exhibit to exhibit with the rush of a crowd. We had plenty of time to explore each exhibit and families could browse at their own pace. The pre-K play section was very nice - children up to the ages of 6 can explore smaller sensory toys with lights, textures, motions, and other sensations in the pre-k section. The New York Hall of Science is a great place for family learning.
This is a nice place to educate and entertain your young ones. There is a lot to see and interact with. It just reopened 2/19/22 and there is still more activites to open in the future nevertheless it was a great experience for the kids. This experience got another best day ever from my little ones. The gift shop is very pricy so be prepared.
I love this place, my son loves this place! There is a total 100% focus on science, with the tools and exhibits to practice it. Its certainly worth a visit! It will make you think and wonder and it has some answers. There is a 3D theater, a great cafeteria, a thoughtful gift shop, plenty of restrooms and parking. Its a no brainer to visit. You can even practice what you learn in realtime. For me personally, just seeing the two rockets out there in person pays for the visit. I mean the history just stares you in the face. I highly recommend it.
Decent place. The biggest issue is that they cram everyone into the weekend, and close the place down all week. I get that its not a busy time and fixed costs are high, but I wish there was an option to pay more to go when its not jam packed. Really takes away from the experience
Awesome place to visit- school trip with my first graders. There are lots of activities for the kids to participate in and learn from. I particularly liked the childbirth display because kids need to learn about that too. I loved the budgies as well, the kids were fascinated with these tiny birds. They were organized and each class had their designated buns for storage, time to eat as well as place to eat. There were kid friendly bathrooms everywhere which is very convenient for kids of all ages. It was my first experience and a great one.
I love this museum. Its a great place for families with kids of all ages to learn, explore, play and have a great time. This museum participates in the cool culture program for NYC Pre-K school children. The gift shop has some nice items and the cafeteria is large enough to accommodate the lunch crowd. Plenty of parking and a comfortable environment inside especially in the winter to spend a day or a few hours letting your kids have a good time.
Its great place to visit with kids. There are a lot interactive exhibits. They have many hand-on experiences. It may be a good idea to bring latex gloves, and hand sanitizers, just to be on the safe side. The outdoor science playground wasnt open, so I may go back in summer.
Attended a birthday party here and sorry I havent been here sooner. This place is great for the kids. So much to do, so much to learn, so much to explore. Huge outdoor playground was amazing as the weather was perfect that day. I cant wait to bring my little girl back to finish exploring all this great place has to offer.
Such a fun place. Our group had 2 rambunctious twin boys age 4 and 3 girls ages 8, 9 & 10. We all had a great time. The outdoor play area has so much to do and learn. The indoor was just as entertaining. I would recommend a membership simply because the outdoor play ground can keep your child entertained for days. I also love the fact that they have guides that show you how to so you can play on your own or have a guide play with you. Cant wait to go back.
What a fun place!! They have a parking lot it’s 12$ to park but free if you’re a member. The inside was clean up to date and had soooo much for the kids to do. Literally do thing for every single age. They had a great time we ended up spending close to 5 hours without even realizing it. They have a little cafe to sit and eat if you wish and a fun area just for toddlers. The only draw back was that the playground had to pay 5$ per child to use unless you were a member and then it was free. Kind of a bummer but it was to hot to play outside anyway so we skipped it.
My kids and I had a ball. Ages ranging from 2-13. The science playground is a must. So exhibits are a bit dated. But the interactive activities are awesome. Definitely something you must do at least once. Toddler play area was awesome too. Pack a lunch to save some $$ and eat in the cafeteria microwave available.
Great place to hang out with your kids. We recently became members and every time we go, exhibits rotate and there is always something new to discover. Makers place in the ‘basement’ is great for kids to explore and create with different themes. Rubber bands art wall, blocks, huge blocks, creating moving robots. Love this place
Needs maintenance and feels tired. Playground is falling apart - ducks were rotten, music pipes had quite a few broken ties at the bottom, windsocks had seen better days...Inside, several things were missing control dials or were in need of repair.Things that make money- food area and gift shop - were well kept. Connecting worlds all digital exhibit was also good.Still some very cool stuff to see, and a few different things that kids will enjoy. Its cheap enough that you should still consider going.
Visited the Hall of Science tons of times in the past but had a chance to check out the Lego Bricks exhibit. The exhibit was an additional $8 per person on top of the general admission fee. I believe members get a discount. The exhibit itself is small but awesome. Lots of cool builds ranging from classical artwork reproductions to human bodies. You appreciate each work of art immediately when you see the amount of bricks required to create them. My son is a lego-lover so this was a must. I highly recommend this to any into legos...or art for that matter.
It is really really good. I have lived in New York City all my life and Ive never gone there even with my children and here I am taking my grandchildren there and I myself had a great time. Staff is very friendly courteous and knowledgeable it was a real nice experience.
Nice place to spend a day with your kids, lost of activities for them to have fun and also learn. Parking is $12, i will not recommend to buy the ticket for the movie as there is a lot to do.Bonito lugar para ir y pasarse el dia entero en familia, muchas actividades para que los niños jueguen y aprendan.
I highly recommend the family membership for those living in the area with young kids. Between the preschool playroom (with train table, lofted observation deck, and other cool hands on displays) the science playground, and space exploration themed mini golf, there plenty that keeps the little ones busy. The price is great and pays for itself quickly since it includes admission, parking (otherwise $10), coat check (otherwise $2 per item), 10% off food and merchandise, and science playground admission. The cafeteria is only okay, but outside food and drink is permitted.
Sprawling hands on center that has a plethora of activities and exhibits geared toward children of all ages. A go to family destination. Membership is a bargain offering up year round entry and free parking. The science playground is always a hit during the warmer months. Only negative aspect is the evident lack of upkeep with many displays and exhibits showing their age.
My daughter loves this place and so do I. Its a great place for any child to have a great time. The playground is just an additional $5 and admission is free before 11am on Sundays and after 2pm on Fridays. Theres so much to do we never get through the entire place in one visit. I suggest taking your little one here, they will have an amazing time!
This place is full of interactive, mind-blowing and interesting stuff! Many many eye catching things. Lots of beautiful experiments, science things, and information. Its better come come with a kid because this place is full of kids 🧒But if you love science, you can come by yourself, like I did! 😁
Place is hugh with tons of fun stuff for kids and adults. Very interactive, could easily spend the day here and go back a month later and have all new demonstration and activities. It is so much bigger than it looks and just seems to have more and more. We will be going back in april when they said a few more outdoor science activities will be open
The New York Hall of Science is still fun no matter what age you are, yet its best suited for 3-9 year olds and the majority of kids there were that age. They had various craft stations on the lower level for the holidays. One station was using old magazines and used paper to make snowflakes and various designs that they hung up. Another station was using used cardboard boxes to make their winter wonderland. The last station had fabric to stitch animals and whatever you wanted. They also had a chemistry science show and an ice sculptor who sculpted a bald eagle. It was great.Even with the added activities and shows, we got through the museum in less than 2 hours...The nice thing is when youre done, you can just walk right over to the zoo next door thats less than a 10 minute walk away and enjoy more learning about science and animals outdoors.
The MET comes to the Hall of Science in LEGO style! Yes, the Hall of Science is currently exhibiting an extensive LEGO collection of famous art pieces and portraits that is installed at the MET! The attention to detail on replicating these artsy LEGO sculptures is fascinating! Its a great way to merge art and LEGOS to learn art history and culture. Its an exhibit not to be missed since its being rendered as the largest LEGO installation in North America. This venue has a souvenir shop, cafe lounge, coat check in, restrooms, parking, rocket park and other engaging interactive science displays. Good educational venue for kids of all ages provided they are enthusiastic about science!
5 stars to the LEGO exhibition The Art of Brick. My favorite piece is the EYE, which the audience has to step all the way back to get the idea. Nathan Sawaya is a genius. The New York Hall of Science is such a kid and family friendly place, very educational and entertaining;)
Get there before 11 and get in for free. its almost empty.annoy the staff with all kinds of questions. everyone we approached were just SUPER helpful and excited to be helpful. The show, at the time of our visit, that we loved most, was digital interpretation of how vegetation in forests, savannah and water environments work an the kids loved it.we went for 9 holes of mini golf, which was fun. the cafeteria was clean and the prices were very modetate. galleries and exhibits were a lot of fun as well. we were all very tired at the end.go visit it with your kids. they love it.overall a 5+ star experience.
What a wonderful place.NYSci has so much to offer to a broad age group. Our first membership was when my daughter was only 15 months old.Whether time spent at the tot spot, or roaming the hall of mirrors, no time was wasted. There are so many hands on activities, and you can always find and explore something new. While I am fortunate to live relatively close to NYSci, I would likely make the trek if I did live further.Visit the website for free hours and a list of other events.
It is a great place for adults and children. They had a toddler play area on the first floor. I wish they had more stuff for toddlers. Everything else is mostly for older kids 5 and up I would say. They have an outdoor park which is not very big and they charge you $10 a person which I think is a little too much. If it was free It would be much better. All in all its a great place to visit either by yourself or with kids.
This place was so cool!! It has many interactive exhibits and illustrations/signs chock full of fun facts and explanations. Excellent place for kids to go and explore various principles of science. You can create a giant bubble, construct structures out of PVC, and go through a rope challenge. Some displays have videos as well.
WARNING: Outside play area that everyone raves about is closed in the winter months. Kiwi view: got to admit sometimes it felt like an 80s Russian theme park done things were that old and quirky. But the whole place was actually REALLY good and the kids loved it. So many things to challenge their mind (including the old and quirky things). No five stars as the outside play area was closed and the 3D movie was mostly not 3D.
This is a great place to visit with kids. I think especially children up to 6th great love this interactive museum. Children (and parents) are invited to touch things and to experiment. It is relatively easy accessible (5 minute walk from 111 st (7line)) and next to the park and the Queens zoo.
We spent a fun half day here. Could probably spend more time here in the summer when the science playground is open (or if you take in the extra fee exhibits). The demonstrations of air flow and flight were interesting and well presented. We had the digital jungle area to ourselves and had a great time. I can see it being frustrating if its very busy. The cafe has limited food options and mostly the fast food/snacks variety. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Well definitely be back!
Science made fun and understandable for children. Mini Gold and a didactic playground on-site. Movies of education and entertainment for children are screened several times a day in the theatre upstairs. Throughout the day there are interactive educational performances. The gift shop has many interesting offerings, discounted for the Hall of Sciences members. Likewise members get discounts in the cafeteria, which is clean with lots of natural lighting, though its selection is scant. Bathrooms are well maintained, and parking is plentiful. For public commuters, the Hall of Science is a short walk from the 7-trains stop at 111th Street.
We went on a Family School Trip. I havent been here since I was a kid so it was fun to actually go with my kids. We were able to explore all three floors. Its the winter so the outside things are closed. The kids were able to build things and play with the things that were day. I made sure they read the information that was next to each thing first. So they can learn as well as have fun. They had a interactive room which the kids enjoy..where they virtually grew plants and watered them. The cafe was actually very affordable for four of us it came out to $38. They have soup, bagels, fruit bowls, personal size pizza, hotdogs, tator tots, chicken tenders, sandwiches, ice creams, danishes, coffee, tea and much more. The gift shop is a little pricey but do have sale items and specials. Overall great experience with the kids.
Very sad to see that the Hall of science is discriminating against veterans and their Families, My wife and I with my 2 years old enter to see the place for the first time was very excited, a Security Guard out of knowhere indiscriminately demaded for my wife to show proof of a vaccine card, while is nknow one business what my family medical records, vaccination are or history is... when I approach the Security Guard to produce a proof of requurment he pointed to a signed that said about wearing a mask NOT prdoducing any type of vaccine card, The last time I remembered I I seved to fight communism now communism is at the Queens Hall of scuence.
Very good place to visit if you want to get more information on NASA and different many different parts of science, go on a day you can see a cow eye dissection, very good for people thats into learning and are studying more depth of science your not taught in school at times or even wanting to further careers as well , they may go see a dissection and may want to become a surgeon for human, animals its not limited , even scientist
The building and grounds didnt appear to be well maintained. Im not sure if I was just visiting at an off time or not. There was a fair amount of trash strewn about outside. Many of the exhibits inside appeared dirty, well worn and some were not functioning. There were some new exhibits that looked very clean and fresh, but other locations seemed to be forgotten. Im still happy I visited, but I dont think Ill be back.
Improve the hall and cafetaria please !Add some smiles on ticket seller too...And some cleaning on hands on display...Otherwise the place is really interesting and educative, for kids and grown up.And the teens that work inside, explaining the scientific displays are motivated and friendly.I loved the place since I passed the main hall.
This is a GREAT place for kids. There is an outdoor playground as well as a basement activity center. Upstairs is usually where the exhibits and museum area are. Be sure to check on their website what is going on the date that you were going. They have exhibits that run for short periods of time throughout different seasons. The outdoor backyard part does close a little before closing time. Be sure to give yourself and the child or children That you are with enough Time to fully explore the basement activity center. There is a lot to do and you should also pack lightly so that you will have both hands free to fully engage down there. Kids can do things like create their own outfits, build things, draw, write paint and interact with other kids and share ideas. Check out the bubble station as well.
Good place to take the family anytime. I would have given 4 stars but there are some exhibits that were in disrepair. The astronaut section where families can take pictures literally fell apart while we were there and couldve injured one of my kids. This place deserves some funding it could really be awesome.
Every couple of weeks theres something new, lotsa energy. Great job with the events for all children, even me lol. Best family package compared to other science museums and parking is included. Also, the young staff are so helpful and informative. Selected with the best school grades
Hall of Science.... its all in its name. Come early and leave late. The kids and adults will have a blast. There are a lot of things to build but the best part is that they CAN touch everything. Take the Q58 (get off on Corona and 51st Ave) and walk a few minutes or look for parking.
My kids love this place. Its the best thing around in winter time. Its indoor and they have plenty of activities for the whole day. The lego fest is something my kids look forward to the most. But they love all the different activities that nysci has to offer. Its an great way to teach kids to love science and how cool it can be.
I took my family here early Sunday morning with their free admission from 10-11and it was absolutely worth it! It was more than I remembered from my childhood and my children had a blast! Not only do we have a love for science, it was very educational and interactive and even my 3 year old was able to take away a learning experience! The facility was very clean and the staff was friendly, helpful and very informative on the exhibits!
The place needs some updating and spiffing up. I think it has been 6 years since weve been here and a lot of the exhibits are the same. A lot of missing knobs and some of the stations didnt work at all. It could be so much better. Check out the pictures upstairs, very cool.
Love, love the Hall of Science, but I know that my son loves it more than me especially the Preschool Palace for children under 6. Preschool Palace is great because it is geared towards young children who really dont like large crowds. Also Im happy to see that they have an infant area. I have been taking him there since he was 2 yrs old and he cant get enough! One of the greatest places for young children to really learn about science!
This place is very interactive and full of fun. Amazing place to be for kids. Check the interactive sections. Very informative and super fun for school kids. Check for kids events. I was there for Makers Faire. One of the most talked about events. Approx 30$ for the events. But worth the visit.
Such an amazing experience, this place is so well organized, full of exciting and educational exhibits, the kids and adults enjoyed it immensely. We spent the entire day and could have gone on and on, we didnt even see everything there was.If you inquisitive kids , you got to go!
My friend took me to the Makers Faire held here. The Faire was great, it was wonderful to see all the creative ideas and energy that people put forth and their true passion for science. The faire included the Hall of Science so we got to enjoy some of the exhibits available. What a great place!! I really enjoyed the hands on feel of the place, really great for kids. It was a bit crowded so kinda hard to experience everything but it was alot of fun!
We always have such a great time here! My son loved it so much that earlier in the year we purchased a yearly family membership. So we bring his cousins and aunty along. Parking and extra activities (3d movies, science playground, special interactive immersive exhibit and mini golf) are included for free with membership! You also get discounted at the souvenir shop! Kids and big kids (smile) all have fin here!
I love the Hall of Science. Its a great place to visit and there are lots of exhibits to see and interact with. I especially love the multitude of hands-on exhibits that they set up on the lower level. The biggest gripe I have is that there are many other exhibits that are dated and sometimes rundown. They definitely need a revamp on some sections. But overall, a great place to go!
Excellent Museum, kids had a blast. Words cant describe The Connected exhibit well enough, it must be experienced. 3D Movie on Extreme Weather was interesting, but I think it is more well suited for adults then children. Parking is $10. The selection of food in the dining hall is limited and overpriced.
Been there twice. First time was two years ago, kids had fun. This time so many things were closed due to renovations. Went to creative movement area, and staff told us its further down the hall...kids went all the way down and cant find entrance. We went back and asked staff, it turned out the entrance was right there and she said o yea sorry....not sure why she sent us down..by the time we went into the room .the dance was half way done already. ..Staff should be trained to notify people if reservations is needed. Went to the interactive room, and was told need to wait another 15 mins for next session, so we left to check out somewhere else instead of waiting there. When we went back later, we were told all sessions are fully booked and we needed reservation. Though they let us in because there were seats available. Not sure will go back or not
Absolutely love the Hall of Science; ever since I was a kid! it is such a gem in our area. I have now begun taking my 1 year old to the Preschool Place play area and it’s so much fun to see her have fun with all the nifty toys.I just wish it was a little cleaner. My daughter is a pro at finding dust bunnies and things to put in her mouth. She has succeeded at NYSCI. There’s dust bunnies in a lot of the corners. It’s also dangerous that they have extension cord cables hanging around loosely for kids to possibly trip or play with.
If youre in Queens, this is worth a visit. A good experience for those who love to learn, a better time for the whole family. Where the Hall of Science doesnt lack, is in its interactive experiences. At every turn, there is something new to learn with a fun way to get to learn it.
We went during the free admission hour, first thing on a Sunday morning.. was quiet and relatively uncrowded. The exhibits are fun and engaging, while some of them are beginning to show their age, for the most part everything is well cared for. This was a great way to spend 3-4 hours together with our 7 year old le ring and engaging. Also paid for the additional Lego art exhibit which was nice.
The museum was established in 1964 as part of the 1964 Worlds Fair in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park,[1][2] and at the time was one of only a few science museums in existence.[3] Unlike many other institutions, which were closed immediately or soon after the Fair,[4] the Hall remained open after the fair, and served as a resource for students.[5] Its exhibits at the time were somewhat limited but included plans for the worlds first atomarium open to the public.[6]The Hall remained open for 15 years, but in 1979 it was closed for major renovations, not to reopen until 1983 at the earliest. By May 1982, according to a New York Daily News article at the time, the condition of the museum had deteriorated to such a state that paint peels from the Saturn V and Apollo hulls, and graffiti adorn the walls around the space park; chipped cement and scattered stones fill the moat beneath the hall. At the time, even though renovations were completed in 1983, city funding for the museum was severed because only $40,000 out of $8 million of promised funding had been raised.[7]In 1984, New York City hired physicist Alan J. Friedman to help with the museums transition[3] from a focus on science fiction-type exhibits that predicted the future, to relevance to everyday lives of ordinary citizens.[8] At the time Friedman was appointed, the museum was basically an empty shell, having an inch of water on the floor. All the exhibits had been given away. Even the light fixtures had been yanked out of the wall”, but renovations continued.[7] After it reopened in 1986, giving New York City a science museum for the first time since it had closed seven years earlier,[9] plans for the display of an atom were realized with a $40,000 exhibit for a quantum atom that was a part of a $400,000 expansion and renovation at the museum.[10] The museums growth and ability to draw crowds was unexpected and led to the citys pursuit of further funds and expansion.[11]At the time of its re-opening, the museum was unique in that it also provided a training program for science majors who could then go on to study under a tuition waiver program at nearby Queens College[12] in exchange for committing to spend at least two years in city schools who needed science educators.[13]The museums role in the life of city school children continued, and in 1991 it announced plans for a ten-year, $80 million renovation and expansion to be able to meet the needs of a growing visitorship.[1] Further expansion, which included a new entrance rotunda, driveway, cafe, gift shop and theater, as well as a 30,000-square-foot (2,800 m2) science playground, began in 1996[3] and reflected the need for constant updates in science museums to keep their displays up to date and relevant. In recognition of its continued upgrading, the Hall was granted the status of a New York City cultural institution, given to a limited number of organizations.[14]
We had a fantastic time exploring the museum and spending time together at the Hall of Science during February break. The kids had a blast interacting with the exhibits and building in the design area. The staff were so informative and nice to the kids. I will definitely bring my kids back again.
Great place to take kids who want to touch things and interested in science. Theres an area for kids and adults alive to build stuff, a very fun experience. If you dont want to be around kids, theres also tickets at night for adults only. You may be surprised with yourself and have fun with something to do. The piece isnt so big so it doesnt take long to explore.
I loved this place when I was a teenager and I love it even more now that i am an adult with a child. They have new exhibits for the children, and so much interactive learning activities. It’s free Sunday morning and it’s a great way to spend a day of an inexpensive experience. There’s a park outside that the kids really love and a huge cafeteria. Affordable gift shops and they even show nonfiction science movies. We learn something new every time we go since the place is so big.
We used to visit this museum a lot and always enjoyed the time there. Last week I renewed the membership but I had hard time making online reservation for the timed tickets. I called the museum many times on different days but the line didnt go through. Can any staff help me with answer please?
Love this place. Took 5 kids there ages 3 - 9 and they all loved it. We all loved the lego exhibit and decided to get a premium family membership since it was basically the cost of admission and now we can come back all year plus get access to 300 other science museums and 50% off 200 other childrens museums. Cant wait. Perfect rainy day activities.
A great place for young kids to explore. It has one of the largest science play ground. Plenty of parking spaces, however no electric charging station at all. I would highly recommend getting the membership, it pays for itself after 2 visits, plus you can visit other children museums.
One of my favorite places to go. Great place for a family trip or on your own. There is a little bit of everything, from space Rover on the moon to the an interactive ecosystem. There are changing exhibitions that make their way through the top floor. There are also workshops that kids love that change every season as well.
Its an amazing museum. The only reason I didnt give it five stars is because its quite expensive and the staff can be unfriendly. We bought our tickets in advance so we could skip the line and when we arrived, they made us wait on line anyway to get stickers. We also bought tickets to the special exhibit, but no one told us to save our receipt to show at the door. It all ended up fine, and the exhibits are fantastic for children and grown-ups alike, but they really have to get their act together when it comes to the logistics.
Great place to bring the kids and be a kid all over again. New exhibits all the time, wonderful learning experience. Interactive interesting and fun activities.Awesome place to spend some time and learn new things. Free on street parking and also paid parking adjacent. Call for free admission day/time. School groups, sleepovers, private parties welcomed.

2022-06-22It is a great sanctuary to go to once in a while to learn and relax. There wasnt a terrible amount of people, and the environment was very peaceful and friendly. A few activities that looked interesting were closed when I was there. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the 3D documentary on the Kermode and Grizzly bear, and all the hands on activities were genuinely wholesome for children and adults. The design of the museum was also spacious and witty to attract the viewers to learn with the extra fun. Overall a nice, calming experience, great for parents to bring their kids along for a day off.

2022-03-31I highly recommend the science demonstrations!!! The kids especially loved the Air Cannon and the Cool Chemistry demos! Trust me, its worth watching the clock or setting an alarm for as many as possible. The 3D theater is a great option but an added cost. We were bummed that the science playground was closed even though we were told it would be open toward the end of March: hopefully soon. The cafeteria has limited but reliable options like pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, and soft pretzels. They also have a little coffee shop that does the trick. They have a really fun store that we always visit on our way out - lots of STEAM based toys, books, and gifts of all sorts. The LEGO sets were cheaper than Amazons prices too. As for parking, we ALWAYS find legal street parking by the entrance in less that 5 minutes, which helps us avoid the parking lot fee (I think $10)

2022-05-04There’s a lot to do here. Unfortunately a few exhibits were not available. We were told the Bubble exhibit was currently close since the hurricane. Spent time here with my family. We all enjoyed our time here. The kids played with robots, interactive water scene, play zone, and etc. This hall of science is geared more towards children and some teens. My party of children ranged from 1.5 year old up to 15 years old. We loved the lounged upstairs. The adults chilled in the beanie bags while the kids played. Would visit again, but once more exhibits are open.

2022-04-23Took my 2 year old and my niece who is 10 and both loved it here! Some parts are currently closed due to renovation but still enough to explore and do. Staff is very friendly - even the custodians. Planning to go again when other parts open up.

2022-05-01Get guided through all exhibitions by 5-10yo.It would be cool if bathrooms were also adjusted to young visitors (this is your audience).

2022-04-21It is well worth getting a membership for a family. For the cost of basically one and a half trips, you can have unlimited access to coming back here. My two boys enjoy coming for the live demos and workshops. They also enjoy the connected worlds and playing mini golf for hours. The cafeteria food is also pretty tasty. I highly enjoyed their Cuban sandwich.

2022-03-01Fun place to wander and see different things. A bit “meh” in terms of exhibits. But lots of fun things to look at. Better experience for younger kids. If I was a parent and needed a place indoors for my kid to roam, this would fit the bill. Love the gift shop. Flushing Meadows park nearby is a nice place to walk, bike, picnic, skateboard, people watch. Easy to get to from the Hall of Science.

2022-05-29Always a cool experience for the kids. They exhibits or interactive and keep them engaged as well as super informative. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the facilities are being renovated so you know theres more goodness to come. If you havent been think its on to walk through the park and visit the science museum.
