New York Hilton Midtown in New York
I went this past weekend to NYC to run the NYC Half Marathon. This was my first time staying at this hotel, and it wont be my last. I had a terrific time. Front desk was very friendly, the hotel was spotless, parking was right there. I traveled with my 4yo and husband. The room was big enough for the 3 of us. The sofa bed was big, it could fit 2 kids or 1 adult. I asked for an extra set of sheets and they sent it right away. The market by the lobby had lots of things. The hotel location is great. Everything was right there.
The location was just about perfect, it was close to all the sites we wanted to see and extremely close to the subway. Service too was very good. They accommodated us and fulfilled our requests of additional pillows, towels and toiletries. The room was okay. No microwave or coffee maker. A few of the USB plugs were non functional as well. The room was also centrally air conditioned, so it took a little longer to cool down. A curtain panel was bent and the rod had fallen off so it made opening the curtain a little more difficult than it should have been.I would stay here again in the future though.
I have stayed at a lot of hotels in NYC including many in the Hilton family. This was my first stay at this property. It is a huge “convention type” hotel so don’t expect much charm. But they make up for it with room size and comfort. I was nicely surprised and would not mind staying here again.
The hotel is good and the front desk staff is great. However they practically track you down to clean your room. And they lose a star for being located within the larger Hilton that tries to bleed you dry. How much money a year to Hilton to stay at a place that’s going to charge you to hold your bags? You’re better off staying at another NYC property where the building is actually operated by HGVC.
The location was convenient. We stayed here for four days and we were not that crazy about this place. The fact that the rooms smelled like old musty carpet and the showers were probably never really cleaned was very disappointing. You can see the dirt from just looking in the tub and tiles. The hotel lobby/ cafe area was filthy every time we visited. The prices were so high and the food wasn’t even that great. Luckily we were able to control the air conditioning because the smell in the room was just unbearable the front desk had to change our room upon arrival. Overall the hotel wasn’t what we expected for the price and being in NY. Would not come back here for sure.
Excellent clean hotel in a superb location. Staff friendly. We stayed 22-28th December. Unfortunately the lock broke on our door meaning we got locked in the room for over an hour. They promptly got a locksmith out to rectify the issue. We was promised compensation but never received any.Very close to Central Park and Times Square. It is extremely high however you can only tell how high up you are when you lean and look directly down. With tall buildings being around you it doesn’t feel as high as it is.
The Residences are beautiful and comfortable. Luxury in the city! We loved every part of our stay - from the comfortable suite, well-appointed bathroom and helpful and friendly employees to the convenient location, awesome fitness center and happy hour/breakfast in the Owners Lounge. We were bumped from the Central at 5th to this location and couldnt have been happier!
It was a great experience! We love the location and easy access to everything. My only request is the rooms should have more lighting. I was on the 44th fl and felt that there could have been a free stand large lamp to provide more light. The other thing I think could be improved is the air flow. We had the windows open the whole time because the room was very warm and the temperature on the thermostat was 72.
We stayed in the Hilton Club not the actual hotel. It is the timeshare floors. We had a rough start. The shower had a large brown puddle in the shower. We had to clean it. The AC was not on, but we werent told that and werent told to turn off the thermostat or we would get hot. First night we were miserably hot. Then it took 2 days to get a working refrigerator. We checked in late, so nothing could be done about anything until the next day. It just wasnt the quality we have seen in the past. Great location on 6th Avenue. Good location for the E and F trains.
The hotel was crowded when we came there since there was a convention. The concierge were nice. The room did not have fridge, microwave, or coffee machine. They do have a market on first floor and you can get food from the vendor carts around NYC as long as you dont need to use fridge or microwave. There was no view outside since all the buildings around are tall. If all you need is a place to sleep and shower, then is worth staying here. Maybe as a gold member, it might be better.
I came to NY on pleasure for 4 nights with my wife. Truly an unpleasant Hilton experience I wasted a lot of points and money on. Honestly, this property could be good but there is just too much wrong right now:- The hotel was way too crowded with a conference. Hilton acts like they care about COVID safety, while simultaneously having a group of 100+ people stands smushed together for 25+ minutes while they wait for one of the 2 elevators operational out of the 6 elevators in the bay.- This elevator issue by the way was even worse coming down. My wife and I made the 34 flights of stairs trip down 3 times during our stay because we were sick of waiting 25+ minutes for an elevator.- The very NYC experience of getting a nice cup of coffee in the morning was ruined by the inability to actually get one. Room service never picked up the phone. If you went down to the cafe, then the line was 15 minutes long! I numerous times went outside to the street cart to get it quicker.- The maids and bellhops were very sweet, but every other staff member in there seems pained to help you- Hotel room was extremely hot. The AC said it was 70 in the room but it was definitely way higher than that. The bed felt like caved in cardboard.I really had high expectations for this hotel & trip... but this property fell way below what I could have expected and I most definitely will not return. The issues guests have here will not be resolved by the staff on the ground
We trade our timeshare points from our home property in Las Vegas so that we can stay at the Hilton Club - weve stayed here for a week each in 2019 and February 2022.Weve never had any issues with anything. I appreciate that unlike other timeshares, we get housekeeping during our stay. This location is so convenient as a tourist and Im sure well be back in the future!
Great location, tired decor. Rooms are dark but comfortable bed and good thick curtains. Quiet.$5 per bag luggage check fee is ridiculous after youve spent so much on a room, and Ive never been asked to store bags at a hotel before, after staying at 25 in the 5 months of this year so far. Very poor.
I went to a conference. Get ready to play musical faucets when you try to wash your hands in the bathroom. Sensors for the water to come out dont work in all the sinks AND in more than one bathroom!!! Breakfast was delish! Lunch: chicken and potatoes and mystery vegetable so so. Chocolate mousse for dessert... pass. Coffee... burnt taste.
This continues to be my go to hotel when I come to New York. Alyssa in the front office is wonderful to work with. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. I can not say enough good things about the people hereNow that life is back to normal, I will be traveling to NYC often. I would not think of staying at any other hotel but this one.
The hotel was good, in my opinion. Whilst it was warm in my room and the cafe was expensive, it still had many plus sides. The rooms were very clean, the staff were kind (especially cleaning staff!), it was comfy, and my room had an excellent view. Would come back again!
This hotel has a great location and a great team, I would like to thank Rafe from the lobby and Jose Mercedes from coffee shop and Abdel from breakfast restaurant. They made our stay very special this guys are really genuine and Hospitable.Thank you so much for all you hard work and professionalism.
Super helpful staff, great location by the park, really nothing but nice things to say about this location. I had a piece of luggage shipped here, and retrieved it with ease, as well as stored luggage with the friendly bell staff for a day without any complications. 10/10 Would recommend to a friend.
Room is fine but no microwave. The biggest issue we found was the front desk does not answer the phones. Called a few times during our stay and they never picked up. Had to go down and wait in line just to get a later check out and had to ask housekeepers for extra sheets and towels. I’m also a Hilton honors member.
The hotel was very clean and the view from my room was amazing. Those are my plus points. What made it very difficult was that there was a very large conference going on. It would take at times more than 30 minutes to get on an elevator because of the amount of people waiting as well.
This was my first time coming to this location. I came here by myself for the NYC tattoo expo. There was so many vendors there & 3 levels of the expo. It was also very busy and they had lots of good music playing & they had a magic show. It was my first time coming & I definitely want to go back next year!
By far the worst experience we’ve ever had at a hotel. Was out here from work, if you have any option at all do yourself a favour and pick any other hotel.1. Wait time for an elevator was 20+ min in a massive line. 2/3 are not working.2. Not even a water in the room. This I’ve never seen; entirely empty mini fridge. For water you need to call down and they never pick up. Once they did took about 30 min to get 2 small bottles.3. No room service - staying here for work and wanted a coffee in the morning before heading out. Spent about 20 min trying to reach the small cafe they have - no answer. Reception told me to ‘keep trying until they answer.’ They never did. You will be unable to get a morning coffee here.4. People partying in the hallway next to our room all night5. Room keys frequently stop working.4. Service is exceptionally poor; reception hardly ever answers phone; asked for 2 reservations and they were never made, no msg left no idea of my request when I followed up; staff is indifferent bordering on rude.We have stayed all over the world not always in 5 star hotels but never, ever have I seen anything like this place in terms of lack of service and accommodations
We have stayed in this hotel several times before and have never been disappointed until our recent stay on May 20-24. We are Hilton Honors members, but unfortunately there was no Honor to be had. We arrived late from Los Angeles due to weather conditions in the New York area, which of course cant be helped. There was a long line at check-in, both in the Honors and regular line. We had checked-in on-line and requested a digital key but the digital key system wasnt working and so we had to stand in line for almost an hour to get our key. There were only two receptionists checking in.We are very aware of the personnel shortage, especially in the hospitality business and appreciated the hard work of the two receptionist. The room we were given didnt have any of the amenities we have gotten used to as Hilton Honors members. No coffee machine, no welcome water bottles. The bathroom was tiny and didnt seem to have been renovated. (peeling wall paper). The room was adequate, but it could have been a room in any 3 star hotel. No modern or new furniture at all. The beds were the best feature. This room was not worthy of a 4 star hotel and especially for an Honors member.Since there was no coffeemaker in our room, we had to go down to get our much needed morning coffee. Not a problem were it not that all elevators didnt work, including the service elevators. We are both in our 70s, but fortunately in good and fit health, because we had to walk 34 floors down for a cup of coffee. We are now wondering is it worth being an Honors member? The three good things about this hotel are: location, friendly staff and the beds.
Rooms were fine, location is awesome. Two issues. First, theres no coffee in the rooms, theres only one spot in the lobby to get a cup, and there was a massive line every morning. Second, the wifi is horrible. Im Hilton Honors so I tried that connection first. It took ages to just log into a zoom call then it kept booting me off. Next I tried my hotspot. I never have an issue with it but while I was able to connect it was only half what it normally is. My guess is that they had some kind of a blocker running but thats illegal, isnt it? I was there for a business conference for a full week so not being able to get zoom calls done, upload or download files, etc was a massive pain in the butt. Add having to go downstairs and wait ages for a simple cup of coffee, and I was pretty irked. Also, just a heads up, Manhattan is not cheap. If you order a plain old glass of wine in either of the hotel bars, expect to pay upwards of $20 a glass.
Great location right in the middle of Midtown and just a few blocks from Central Park and Times Square. The hotel was very big and busy and yet overall service was good, room size was good for NYC, I did not have a chance to try any of the hotel amenities on this trip. Breakfast, while was good, was lacking in fruit and veggies, there was no water on offer, just juice and coffee. No HHonors Gold status benefits i.e upgrades and such, Will return again.
We stayed here recently and found the location was excellent. Close to lots of places but also far enough away from all the noise of Times Sq.The staff were superb and could answer any question we had.Our room was great with comfy beds and pillows. The drawers could be doing with a bit of maintenance as they was a couple broken. Will definitely be booking to stay here again when we go back to New York.
Probably one of the worst hiltons I’ve stayed in. The registration line for check in/check out was always long and understaffed. We waited extremely long for a room to be available. The storage room for bags was extremely long. The room was poorly maintained. The light fixtures were falling apart and the lights throughout the room were dim and flickering on and off. After reporting these issues the staff were less than friendly and didn’t really seem to care. I strongly encourage booking a hotel elsewhere. This one is totally not worth the money.
I’ve been to many a conference here during my 40-year career, and I love walking in, get a bit confused by where to go (this is NYC after all), love the interior hustle and bustle to feel right at home in the City, but usually found my way up to the right clean and comfortable conference room. And it’s just up from Radio City Music Hall, the CBS “black rock” building, and 3 giant verdigris copper woman’s busts in fountains on the west side of the avenue.
Glorified Premier Inn but an ideal location. Waited between 5-15 mins each time for lifts. My son actually ran up to the 40th floor via the stairs and beat us easily. Staff on check in said our room had a sitting area, however it had one bed and a lounge chair, not 2 beds as expected for 3 of us. Took a while but was moved to a room with a bed settee too, unfortunately with bed settee out couldnt access drawers or fridge. Ended up putting away and making up the bed each day myself so we could move around room. Disappointed as this trip was a big birthday pressie to me from the family and I had believed the room would have 2 big beds which are desirable when travelling with older teenage boys. .Great food just yards away at Cafe 53 and close to Starbucks. Hotel food and drinks vastly overpriced. Tried once and never again. The Hilton disappointed me. New York definitely didnt.
If i could give more stars, i would!Went to NYC for the 1st time to celebrate my childrens bday, and would definitely stay here again. Perfect location! Within walking distance to Central Park, Time Square, Rockefeller Center, subway entrance ext! Amazing customer service! Very pleased 👌❤️
As a Hilton Diamond member, maybe I expect too much. There is no potable water available in this hotel. I have no idea how this is even legal. They also add a $35 charge to your stay which you must use in their restaurant or bar. I recommend using this money to stock up on water if you happen to have the misfortune of staying here. I think its time to check out the Marriott rewards system instead as Hilton has clearly become an economy brand of hotel and in no way is worth the money they charge for their rooms.
Great location, VERY QUIET room (and thats in downtown Manhattan). 2 little things why I dropped my rating by 1 point (9 instead of 10) - NO alarm clocks/clocks in room, 2. Very slow and unstable internet connection. Except that my stay was fabulous. Thank you Hilton Midtown.
Checked in today 06/26 and waited 20+ minutes in the “Honors” line. We had booked a “skyline room” but was told that due to being sold out they cannot provide that room category. No problem. We got the keys to a room on the 24th floor. When my wife and I went to key in, there was already another guest(s) luggage and clothes in the room. This was traumatizing to my wife and I because of the potential of this happening to us. I went back to down the lobby and told the clerk and the manager, they apologized and assured me I would be taken care of. They brushed off the seriousness of the mistake they had just make and flagrant violation of privacy on behalf of Hilton. I am now being “taken care of” by having lounge access and a room on the 5th floor with no view for the next 5 days of my stay. Not to mention lugging 4 large suitcases up and down with no help. I am also a Gold Status. Terrible experience!
English tourists from thr uk: Instantly hit with hidden fees, around $300. Lovely view of all the ventilation shafts and reception is rude, and can barely hear them with their masks, and a bigger nightmare for those with hearing aids. The room is the only good thing about it.
I came in to work so I wouldnt have any distractions. Stayed at the timeshare part of hotel 44-46th fl. had our own private elevator + guest check in. Great central location - close to everything in midtown. Suite was clean - well maintained and serviced by friendly and attentive staff. Cons - NO USB plugs.
Not sure if other reviewers simply have never been to a hotel before or I just had a terrible experience?Upon check in, I overheard a guest ask the front desk for a different room since theirs was not turned over from the previous guest. Not a great sign! My room was partially cleaned, so I didnt complain. Room didnt have a fridge, internet (pay only like its 2005), burnt out lights, no bathroom fan, and a disconnected TV. Staff were nice, but not super helpful. One night I asked the concierge for where I could find a corner store open (10pm) and they had no clue and admitted they wouldnt even be able to tell me where Central Park is (2 blocks north). Elevators would stop working and when they did work, reaked of booze. All down for hostel conditions but not for Hilton prices.
I would highly recommend the Hilton Midtown for your next visit to NYC. This was by far the best hotel I have stayed in when visiting the city. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the service from the staff was amazing. Wonderful location close to everything, quiet at night.
Do yourself a favor and search for the keyword “elevator” in these reviews. After another guest complained by phone when we were stuck going down, we were given an insider tip to walk down one floor via stairs and then take the service elevator. You can imagine how stressful it is to wait over 25min to go down the elevator in a high rise hotel when you have a restaurant reservation or a train to catch. How is this a four-star hotel is beyond me. On the plus side, the fitness center gym is huge and one of the best my husband has seen at any hotel we’ve stayed at. Staff overall were very friendly, despite the annoying circumstances.
The hotel is fine but a bit overrated in my opinion. The elevators were very slow and very limited. I signed up for the executive lounge which was terribly overpriced. These all sound like negative points but I have to say that the staff was absolutely amazing. Their service was excellent and they were exceptionally nice and attentive.
Hilton should be ashamed of this location. This was the most underwhelming and raggedy Hilton I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to many as a member).Upon walking in, the busyness creates the illusion that everything is so nice. Wrong. Came into my room and it looked like a best western. There was still food crumbs from the past guests. My room was by the service room for the maids and they were loud as hell outside my door. However, the icing on the cake was finding a old dirty wash rag in my shower 🤮This establishment needs a serious facelift, like tomorrow. Don’t be fooled by the location and hype of NYC. This hotel is not up to par to typical Hilton quality
Not even worth one star. Wifi almost never worked in the rooms and the password was changed without informing the guests. Equipment of room was very basic and outdated. The waiting time at the reception were long due to personnel shortage. When trying to reach someone from the room telephone no one Eber answered after several times. On top of that, my pyjama went missing after we already tipped the room service. Cannot recommend at all!!
We accompanied my husband on a business trip for 4 days and chose this hotel because it is where his conference was located. Upon arrival you can see the rooms are a bit worn and the condition is below what I was expecting. We had an executive suite on the 42nd floor. The hotel was very busy making the elevator wait times 5-10 minutes. The biggest complaint is that there is no air conditioning provided in the room when the outdoor temperature is below a certain point. The hotels solution was to open the windows and provide box fans. I have three children and while the windows do not open enough for them to fall it caused a great deal of anxiety over things being dropped out the window as well as heightened allergies for my asthmatic daughter. For an upgraded room at a Hilton property this was way below the Hilton’s standard and we will not be returning!
Busy Midtown hotel with lot of travels , crews check in & out.. the front desk seems busy all the time.. Overall the place is quite happening as it’s located between Central Park & Time Square. Room facilities lack water bottles / tea coffee maker in room . Rest is ok with comfortable space .. Bathrooms r too small but ok.. Restaurant / shopping store available ., Water bottles please ask house keeping they will provide as we Indians hate to have drinking water from basin tap.. Tea / Coffee maker available at zero level for guests.Overall good experience of Hilton
Its a very old hotel. The furniture in the rooms and the ventilation system are also unbelievably bad. The bathroom is very small. I had to deal with the faucet for 10 minutes to get a shower. A hotel that does not suit the Hilton brand. the only good thing is the location
A miserable 2 days, do not stay if you are here on business. Walls are paper thin, chaotic with tourists and the whole hotel is geared towards them. Getting ahold of front desk via phone is next to impossible. Dated bathrooms, everything very over priced.Good location to be fair, near train stop but they also have closed all entrances that are close to train so it’s annoying. This place just annoyed tf outta me. Families everywhere, so loud, probably great for a holiday but avoid avoid avoid on business.
The GOOD:Good midtown hotel in NYC. Location is great, close by to several attractions such as MOMA, Lego, St. Patrick’s, Times Square etc. as well as several metro stations spanning multiple subway lines (although that’d be true for most places in Manhattan).Lobby was large, well air conditioned. Fitness center / gym was very good with a large number of Peleton bikes, weight machines, free weights etc.Dining options within hotel are limited but that is ok since there are many good restaurants nearby.Check out was smooth, and plenty of Taxis, Ubers etc. in close proximity to the lobby ready to whisk you to the airport or wherever you need to go.Conference facility was large, modern and comfortable. The BAD:Check in experience was very poor. We tried checking in online but no dice. Doing it the old fashioned resulted in waiting in a really long wait in a line that seemed to crawl. The check in process was excessively slow. Being a Hilton Honors member and standing in the appropriate line didn’t help either. The check in desk was under staffed and one of the staff members (old, white lady) refused to help and chose to stand there.I did have a word with the manager and he seemed to genuinely apologize and offered to compensate via extra Honors point, F&B vouchers etc. and take responsibility for the experience (they were overwhelmed due to a conference). The WEIRD:Despite booking the room for 4 guests & letting the housekeeping team know that we were 4 people in the room, we consistently got only 3 bath towels. One of us (usually me) had to make do with a wet towel.
Hotel is very big, great service, convenient location, comfy beds, and nice rooms. I’d definitely recommend the Hilton Midtown for anyone going to Manhattan for any reason, it’s close to everything, and you can get to any of the boroughs with multiple subway stations about 1/4 mile away.
1) One elevator was not working and every ride required a 5-10 minute wait. 2) the wifi did not work. 3) when I called about the wifi, the agent was rude and forwarded me to Hilton’s toll free reservation number. He then refused to answer subsequent calls. 4) i received an unscheduled and unwanted wake up call at 5:55 am. 5) no vending machines were available or in close proximity to the 37th floor. I could not get a drink or snack without spending 20 minutes waiting for elevators. This was THE worst hotel experience I’ve had in 50 years. I doubt I’ll ever stay at a Hilton again.
Wow! Husband caught rota virus here and ended up in hospital. Due to this we had to extend our stay. They kept locking us out of the room. They were very unhelpful to my being in the room without him, his name was on the registration. I had to talk with security 3 times just to get in the room. For the ungodly price they charge, I am appalled at the treatment overall.
Id give it a 5 ⭐ but only 2 out of 4 elevators were working, and they wouldnt stop at certain floors to go down, like the floor I was staying, 30+ floors to go downstairs? No. I went for business and it was crowded we had to wait long waiting times to use the elevator like 10+ as minimum of time
This hotel is just not worth it. The location is perfect, but each time I wanted to get to my room or back to the lobby I had to spent 10-15 minutes waiting for the elevator (picture attached). The wifi is from the jurassic and the login system (when using my Hilton Honors account) just did not work with IOS devices. We finally managed to connect because they gave us a wifi voucher, but it was awfully slow. Additionally being Hilton Honors Gold just means nothing, no upgrade at all, and I had to request at checkout my food and beverage credit because it had not been applied.
Great location in midtown, nice and clean room with view on street, but not understanding that rules are changed for charging of breakfast for members. Hilton app says 18 usd for the midtown hotel are deducted per day, at check out I was told the hotel uses different rates, depending what is used (10usd, 20usd). If rules are changed, I expect this to be communicated at checkin and not at checkout. Also a no go is charging of 5 usd per luggage if stored at checkout. So far all hilton I have visited did it for free.
Honestly can say I would never stay here again. The room is barely clean, very dated and the bathroom is tiny. Wallpaper is peeling off the wall, towels are frayed and old, there is NO WORKING INTERNET, and the check in staff were not very friendly. For nearly $450-500 per night it’s a ripoff.
ATTENTION TESLA DRIVERS. If you dont have an adapter for your charger you might not be able to charge. There are 3 chargers. All 3 are broken. You can charge if you have an adapter. Also you have to connect it yourself if you want it charged. First time in New York and this is my view. 😒
I can safely say we experienced the worst checkout service ever. We called for them to get the luggage as we had 6 heavy bags, and they told us they were sending someone right away, we waited for 30 minutes and no one came to take the luggage. So when it was time for us to head to the airport we asked again and told them we are running late for the airport, they simply replied we are busy now we dont have a bell captain!!! They should have told us before instead of keeping us waiting!! So we had to juggle all the 6 large heavy bags by ourselves to the lobby!!! And not only that! When they saw us juggling the bags, instead of apologising they where upset because “we waisted their time” as someone was heading to the room!!!I have never been more furious with a bad service experience as i am with this one 🤬🤬🤬
Duvet is sandwiched between two bed sheets with all sides open. I asked for a duvet cover that is closed like it should be but they didn’t have. The rooms are very old, furniture and interior is outdated and the hotel in general is depressing.+ water bottles are not provided in the room
Television was not working. In the middle of a TV show, the TV would back out with “no signal “. I did call the first night but after that I could not be bothered. Very frustrating!! Also. Why are there no coffee in the room? Had to go downstairs to buy a small cup for 4.90!!
They called me and told me i have promotion i can choose 2 nights and 3 days in Washington dc Florida and i dont remember other places nobody nobody mention to me that i have to attend meting for time share and they want to charge me for not attending the meting. Scam scam scam dont buy nothing with them . Badddddddddd
If you are a Hilton Honors Diamond member, don’t expect much from this property especially if you are already booked on a Skyline room. No upgrade, no nothing, and the response will be they don’t do upgrades to suites even if there is availability throughout the duration of your stay and Skyline room is already the highest room type before getting to the suites. Executive Lounge was closed whereas there was no mention to it on the web site and it was a deciding factor when we eventually chose to stay at this particular property. I understand COVID-19 restrictions, but the closure of the Executive Lounge should have clearly been stated on the web site which is exactly what other Hilton properties did in the region so we knew what to expect or not, but clearly not at New York Hilton Midtown. We had a bad overall experience during our 2-week stay in January 2022.
Very nice stay. My daughter dropped an earring down the sink and maintenance retrieved it! Amazing. A couple of pointers... elevators... the lines get long. Plan well ahead to ensure that you can get to your meetings/ appointments on time. Food... there are many great restaurants nearby. A short journey and you can save a lot. Most of the rooms are double beds. There is room within the room to have queen beds. This would make for better sleep. Thermostats - never could get a consistent temperature... we had it set to 66 in the winter and it was cold in the day and somehow, it got hot at night. Pretty sure just our room... I would stay here again
Horrible timeshare scam. I was able to escape a little early because I absolutely stonewalled their sales rep, but I’m a professional salesman, I fear the general public might fall prey to their tactics. Gifts were not as promised, and the pitch was quite hostile once they realized they weren’t going to close me.
This hotel is everything one would expect on a first class hotelThe staff is very helpful. The room was better than I even expected. Large clean with all the amenities making the trip relaxing and stress-free. The fitness center is just as good as my center st home. Precor equipped clean and spacious.
Amazing hotel all around. Only issue is bathroom is awful. Door opens onto toilet and no chance can 2 people EVER come into bathroom. Look....i am from NY so I know things are smaller than the rest of the world. But other than that, staff is very helpful, polite, secure of rooms and overall great. We had a girl walk into a room with a housekeeper and she insisted they show their keycard worked in the door. Very impressive. Hotel is located in great area (as we were here for dance in Thanksgiving Day Parade), and can walk anywhere. Our room was comped because my girl works for parade but if need a great Midtown hotel located in walking distance of a lot, this is a great area.
Again I Love Hilton & Double Tree but due to COVID Half Staff Great Location Great Rooms went during Pinstripe Bowl spoke to Coaches had a ball!! Herb & Kitchen best burger worth $17.00 chili Thee Best!!! Everything right there go left go right park radio City tree St.Patricks Saks all within 10 blocks time square 15 so blocks top of rock 4 blocks Great time
Lets start with the front desk check in [amazing], the bellmen bringing a package to my room, then greeting me the next day in the lobby [I felt like hugging the guy - however we have the social distance requirement], and the cleaning ladies - please can they also clean my apartment?
Experience was great! Hotel maids need to get a life. They knock on door at very early hours in the morning. Then when I went to check out they completely disregarded that I paid for stay with a years worth of “points”. Staff showed no interest in figuring out the problem but told me that “I” needed to call the points department. Completely out of line. I totally regret spending over 250 nights with the Hilton Group. Looks like next year I will spending those nights at the Marriott!
We stayed here for 5 nights on our trip to New York in 2018. We found it to be great in proximity to everywhere we needed to go. Really clean, and friendly staff. Room was alright. Not much of a view from where we were, but we only needed it to sleep anyways. Checked us in pretty early when our bus got there way before check in time. Continental breakfast had a decent selection, was good enough to start the day. Hot breakfast wasn’t anything to write home about, or spend the extra money on from what I can recall. We would stay again.
Very pleased with our stay even with the COVID restrictions. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were greeted when we arrived by Hilton staff. We got excellent local guidance for our visit, even for ordering a pizza. The hotel is located in a perfect spot, easy walking distance to Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and many restaurant & shops. Room was very clean and nicely furnished.
Location here seems to be different, but I went to 142 W 57TH STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10019.The presentation was not too bad and Tiffany did a great job in explaining what HGV is all about. However, the man who signed me off after she left was super rude. When he realized that I would not be purchasing anything from HGV, he told me to “get out”. Wow, super professional and it’s a shame Hilton is associated with HGV.
We went for the vacation club stay. The hotel was great, the time share meeting was bad. We spoke to Shonte Gibson and his supervisor for three hours. Shonte was rushing us because he had a birthday dinner to get to. We told him we were undecided and he offered to hold the membership until we got a chance to crunch the numbers properly. We gave a $500 deposit and asked repeatedly if we would get the deposit back if we decided not to go forward. We were told many times that we could have our deposit back. After looking over everything and seeing all the fees and charges that were not discussed during the time share pitch we decided that the club was not for us. I emailed Shonte and Hilton on Sep.2 asking for the deposit back. No answer. I emailed again on Sep. 10 asking for the deposit back. No answer. We are asking American Express for help now. That should tell you all you need to know about Hilton Grand Vacation Club time share pitches. Stay away!!!
Positive: The employee who checked me in was nice and professional and I appreciated it. Negative: They nickel and dime you on luggage storage--charging $5 a bag, and they only had one employee working it--took about 25 minutes to simply stow a bag, and then that employee wasnt wearing a mask, in violation of the rules. Awful last experience.
Nice hotel with prime location but old. You can tell its tired by cosmetic imperfections and interior having some visible wear and tear. Its still very comfortable and clean though. New York Hospitality is everywhere. From bellman to a room attendant. Everyone is super polite, attentive and swift to assist.
I stayed for one night at the Hilton Club. The room was ok but the service is really bad. Receptionists don’t care and are borderline rude. The common areas are very busy and collect a random and noisy crowd. You pay an average of 500 dollars per night: in exchange you get what I believe is to be very little value.
Horrible experience. Lies, lies, lies. If You are interested in paying around $400 or more per night for the hotel in Orlando listed on a website for $125 plus fees and tax thats the deal for You. Sales team will make You comfortable first and then they put pressure and will do anything to make You sign in. Whaterver they are selling for $25K You can buy on eBay on auction sometimes for few hundred bucks. I wonder why?
I as a employees and customer I know that Hilton hotel is a home away from home. I invite you to come an take the experience of being a valuable guests or clients. Hilton has many experiences, history and places to show you. It is located in the mid town of the City of New York with an spectacular views. It is a great hotel its employees are very kind and always are available to help you with all your needed. In the area you could find the historical Radio city music hall where on Christmas you could enjoy the Rockets shows, visit the Central park, MoMAs museum, the 5 Avenue, Times square, the Broadway show, the spectacular parade of Thanksgivings by Macys in front of the hotel and many others things. The customers service and concierge are awesome on helping you with your needed. The cleaning in the hotel is excellent with the greatest teams that housekeeping have. I will always books at Hilton hotels. Please come and share the experience see on your own what I met.
I booked a stay in the executive suite for October 2021. Will your hotel be open by then? Will we get full access to an open executive lounge and breakfast that we paid for? The reservations could not answer these questions. If the lounge, fitness area, & breakfast is not open in October, will we be compensated. Also what is the $30 a day fee for ?
Great Hilton Hotel! The most obvious reason you should stay here is the location. Everything is just a walk or short ride away. Good food and shopping nearby. I was upgraded to a high floor and had an incredible view of Central Park. Great service and plenty of amenities.
Great hotel! Very spacious and very conveniently located. The rooms are nice but there were a couple of issues. One time I stayed here, one of my windows was yellow tinted and the other was normal! Quite distracting. I ended up closing one half and it was fine. One more thing is that the cafe is ridiculously overpriced. $50 for a container of chocolate, 3 crisp bags and 3 water bottles! However, the food is good. Not the best service, but the location makes up for it.
I booked a stay here two weeks ago. I got several confirmation emails. My stay was cancelled on me without notification, which I only discovered by luck when I checked the Hilton Honors app. The front desk didnt answer. The hotel now appears to be booked? The Hilton representatives found another room in another hotel, which we compromised on, but its a roof over our head.
We listened to a lengthy talk about the great value of buying into the Hilton Grand Vacation plan and really thought it sounded like it would fit our vacation needs, however we had to decide that day or we would lose the great offer of 25000 bonus points as well . We were treated very respectfully and were even allowed to leave the premises and talk over a meal . We returned to accept the offer and buy into the HGV program .We signed all the documents , but didn’t read until we brought everything home . Upon further discussion we decided to change our mind and recind our offer , therefore requesting our down payment back and canceling our contract within three days .We completed all the steps required to cancel further steps and were treated wonderfully. Our down payment was refunded sooner than expected. We were not the right fit at this time for the program but appreciate the easy process to opt out . Thank you !

2022-02-13Large hotel, very friendly, accommodating, and engaging staff throughout. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom, great water pressure in the shower. Comfortable bed with crisp linens. Adequate lighting in the room, although desk lighting could be better. Quiet rooms. As per usual, food in the lobby shop is tremendously expensive (youll do better going to any local shop).

2022-06-24My mother (who is disabled) is coming in for a reservation soon. I work for a hotel as a general manager. The customer service I received on the phone was absolutely outrageous and totally disrespectful. My mother‘s preference would be an ADA accessible room but understands those are far between. So some simple requests in order to make sure she is comfortable, was told that wouldn’t be able to be accommodated. When reservations come in at my hotel, which is a five-star hotel in a major city, we ensure we take care of the guest. The guest who pays our bills. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told there was not one available. I was not offered to be transferred to a voicemail or anything. As someone who is born and raised in New York I love my city. But the customer service that was experienced over the phone —- baffled and highly upset. Unfortunately my mother house to stay at this hotel but if management sees this please feel free to respond to it and give me a direct number to call you guys out please. Thank you.

2022-02-14Had a great stay. Reserved a suite on the 43rd floor - 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. Met a gal pal so the setup was perfect if one of us wanted to stay up late or get up early. The lounge access was nice for coffee and snacks in the morning. Great location and the front desk staff were super helpful.

2022-03-19My family and I stayed here for a week. The hotel is a perfect location. Close to many locations and easy access to the subway. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room: Our room was decent. We booked a king-sized bed. I wish there was a microwave so that we didnt have to either eat out leftovers cold or trash them. Our room lacked plugs. USB ports wouldve been nice. The Air-conditioning: If you book here, just know that you do not have actual control of the air settings in your room. Our room stayed fixed at 75 and was unable to turn it down a few notches. We couldnt sleep well the first few nights and were super sweaty. We finally called the front desk, and they sent maintenance up. He seemed annoyed that they even called him about the issue. He told us that the hotel controls the temp. He gave us 2 options: A) open the window at night or B). Use a box fan. We chose the box fan option. As paying guests, everyone should have the ability to control their own setting as its not a one size-fits all situation. The Bathroom: The bathrooms are on the smaller size, but I understand that we have to work with the space available. The showers could use a bit more TLC. There were specs of black in many visible places as well as built-up crusts of dirt. So that was disappointing.Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

2022-06-15Always happy to stay here when I visit New York! The location is ideal and the rooms are more spacious than a lot of other hotels in Times Square. The staff are fantastic, especially the Herb N Kitchen staff, and the housekeeping staff. Eleanora made sure our room was always taken care of, and she was always incredibly friendly when we crossed paths. I look forward to coming back soon!

2022-07-04Hotels is in great location. Bell men and concierge greeting immediately. Room was clean but the elevators services are so slow and considering that was so many kids and teenagers I was a bit frustrated. But over all the stay was good. Room was clean and spacious and comfy. With good in hotel snack and food options when running short on time.

2022-05-04The most disgusting customer service I have ever experienced. The staff is terribly unprofessional, rude, and not competent. Id say it is a huge scam. They forced me to answer questions related to my personal life. If anything I feel threatened. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! AVOID. I like the Hilton Honors program and their service but Hilton GRAND VACATION IS A SCAM!!! Should be rated -0.

2022-06-10Firstly, this is a great location, surrounded by some great restaurants, (if you register for Hilton Honours you can get a discount from them too) near to central Park, and Subway stations. The staff are great, Milton (from the Hilton) was very helpful and polite and knew of many restaurants and other sites in the city. The cafe staff were great and the breakfast shop is a great idea and you can take it back to your room. The housekeeping staff are the unsung heroes, so flexible, hardworking, and did an excellent job on a daily basis. This is a good hotel and I would return.Note, the hotel bar is expensive, but remember that an America double Gina and Tonic is HUGE!!! but there are cheaper bars not far from the Hotel.

2022-04-09Great location to stay at. Stayed for three nights in an executive suite. Which didn’t have a microwave for some reason but whatever. The wifi wasn’t all that great, great view of the city though from our room and close to slot of the things we wanted to see.The hotel itself is well taken care of with a wonderfully sized fitness center.

2022-06-21The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Got us checked in fast. Immediately recognized me as a Diamond member and upgraded our room. Explained our benefits which included executive lounge access and a food credit. We’d grab breakfast and coffee from the executive lounge and take it to Central Park to eat in the sun. Absolutely perfect location right next to broadway, Times Square, shopping, and the park. Clean room, we checked for bed bugs and saw no signs. We will be back next year.
