I’been studying here for three weeks on Post Advanced level. It’s the best school where I’ve ever studied! I really regret that I didn’t plan more time there. I think I really improved my speaking skills and got a lot of useful and interesting tips. All staff are very kind and professional. Everybody will be glad to help you with any problem. For 4 months I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people studying at NYLC, before quarentine administration staff, program coordinators, assistants and of course the teachers.They are always oriented and do their best for students who are seated at ease and enjoy learning this language. It has been a great experience, I felt comfortable. My classmates were very nice even though we came from different parts of the world. We get along and we did not have trouble sharing our cultures.Teachers in NYLC were nice and friendly, they are doing an excellent job, everyday a learned new things. It was really a good experience studying in NYLC Jackson heights. All the teachers and staff members are soo frendly and wereready to help you anytime. Also onc can learn English with people surrounded from all over the world. Also the TOFEL practise that I got here was really outstanding, and at the end I got a good score in TOFEL as well. So in total it was fun studying English here and most memorable experience.
It has been a wonderful experience to learn English at the New York Language Center-Jackson Heights because of several reasons. First, all of the teachers and administrative staff have been helpful and proffesional at all times. Second, I have been studying English in other schools whose teachers and administrative staff spoke other languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese, German, Korean, etc), I never felt this was a disadvantage because many international students who arrive to New York do not speak English at all and need help while starting a new life for a season in a foreign country. Third, none of my teachers have spoken Spanish while in class because there is a variety of students who speak different languages so it does not make any sense to speak one language which only few students would understand. Fourth, I have seen staff members speaking Spanish to people who arrive to the New York Language Center-Jackson Heigths asking for information for new courses. I do not see anything wrong by doing this. If you go to other English schools you will see administrative staff speaking in different languages to provide helpful information to international students. Fifth, teachers are highly professional and prepare their classes in advance. I have been studying advanced English for almost a year and have acquired new writing, reading, listening and speaking skills. Greg, Michael, Leslie, Phillip among other teachers, are excellent.In summary, I highly recommend any international student to study at any of the branches of the New York Language Center and take advantage of the program, books and facilities.
I had a good time in this school. Teachers are great and the way to learn is easy. Also you can enjoy all activities with your classmates. If I come back to NY I will repeat my experience in NYLC.

I studied in NYLC in 2003. Thanks to NYLC Ilearn English, started from level one and followed the whole course. It was best decision I had made. I Spent 5 months in NYLC Jackson Heights and i would really recommend to everybody who want to learn or improve their english. The program you will follow will be based on your level, so you dont have to be scared about being in a level class which doesnt correspond to yours. The teachers are very cool, profesional, take time to explain things you dont understand. Thanks to them i did a lot of progress, i improved my english level and i am more confident when i talk. The administration is always present to answer to your questions and anything you will need, always with the smile and the ladies of the front desk are the best. NYLC is a wonderful language institute from motivated adults. It`s close to the subway. It`s a diverse environment. My classmates and teachers and all the staff were friendly. NYLC- Jackson Heights is a good language school in a nice neighborhood. Here you can learn this language with good and friendly teachers and you dont have to pay a lot of money.Also, they often offer some activities to do after classes.

NYLC is a very organized school. The teachers are efficients and friendly. The stuff is always ready to help you no matter your request and Programs are made to make you fell confortable.
If you want a school where books are lacking, where the coordination of students is poorly attended, come, here is your place.I changed my level 15 days ago, and since then there are no books available in the classroom, books that are paid by students, but we do not receive them.I was provided with a booklet with the copy of the book, but this booklet has only the even pages, activities on odd pages I cant keep up with, impairing my learning.When you complain, the rental service is totally groceiro, and the educational coordinator laughs at you in your face.Very sorry to choose NYLC.

I have been a teacher for more than 10 years and this institute doesn’t follow baseline books pedagogically speaking because some teachers don’t understand how to go down with the students level with a fast pace that doesn’t help at all the students willingness to work better...Each book has 12 lessons and the English period of a book is 10 weeks......, sooooo what do they do with those ones that are left behind? It’s like rush hour everyday just for the Benjamin’s 😭Also they change too many times the books..., please check...! So many awesome books available and you just change for bad ones...?Very disappointed with this institution.

Its a good language school, the classroom sizes are small but it is providing less students. Teacher care to students a lot. My teacher was Mike and he was really good techer; friendly, making jokes and dont going away from the topic. Also the school supply i-20 form for international students
My family made a large investment to bring my teen brother to take the intensive ESL course at the New York Language Center. We are very happy with the results, my brother had a very good time with teachers and other students, and he says he has learned way more than expected, and is very motivated towards the ESL.

You need to stop letting your administrative staff members (all of them)and particularly one teacher use Spanish to communicate with your Spanish-speaking students as it completely turns off the non-Spanish speaking students.My last teacher in there was a disaster,he doesnt have filter,in other words he would say whatever comes to his mind.I was tired to being analyzed ,embarrased by my teacher in front of everyone,I saw him making ironic/sarcastic comments while other people was talking,such the Academic Coordinator when came to our classe. Of course for those who speak Spanish, and for those who have crushes on him, this guy seems an idol.I paid for it,I allways paid upfront.Im sorry for my bad English, probably if I had had the opportunity to finish my book I would be able to write beter in English and perhaps a good review.

Very bad school, very bad hygiene, bathroom stinks all over the school, poorly managed employees, badly educated, mocked, you pay for a book and dont receive it, and when you receive it you need to leave it at the school for another student to use it, pay for weeks of course and school doesn’t allow you to use everything, they make up open tuition for not issuing a certificate, they teach only recipes, if you wanted to learn cooking you wouldn’t look for a language school, go in to learn English and learn Spanish, online classes are even worse, teachers give classes with dogs barking all the time, the only thing they know how to do is threaten students, run, its not worth 1 dollar of investment.

I studied together with my boyfriend for a few weeks at the NYLC in Jackson Heights. For the short time I was there, I exceeded my expectations, I will hardly be able to return to take another course but for longer because it is worth it, the price is great, it was the best option I found for quality / price. Both the teaching area and the secretariat are very attentive, professional and always ready to help you. There is a panel where they write down what is done outside of class time, such as trips to museums, walks, etc ... at a super good price, and it is a way to continue learning since you go with a guide who talks to you and asks things in English and if you make a mistake he corrects you, its like staying in class. I went to the world trade center with them for half the price. All NYLC schools join, so you have the opportunity to meet more people and keep practicing.Besides, during the week there are two days that they do free conversation classes for students and one day a tutoring class to clarify your doubts, it is worth it because it offers many things and if you take advantage of them well, you can have many fruits. In the early morning of October, after spending the summer heat in New York, I was out the door of the house. The weather outside is quite chilly. Now its time for the first time to go to NYLC schools. It was my first day to go to class, I used the New York public subway called MTA to go to NYLC, and I put myself on 7 trains to NYLC. I lived in a foreign country and remembered that I was very nervous and nervous because I was alone in an unfamiliar country where English was my main language and I had no friends and family. Finally I arrived at the station where I had to get off, and I was walking toward NYLC. Soon after, I approached the entrance to the school. It was probably because I was thinking about what to say in English for the first time, hi? Hello? How are you? I arrived at the counter the moment I thought I should do something, and the female staff at the counter was very Kindly asked me what happened because, in the end, I didnt say the thought I thought, and I came from Korea, enrolled in the institute and came to classes, and I did a simple English test with a simple sign and After that, I was assigned to my first class, so I attended the class, so my first language course abroad began.(syncopation)All of NYLCs classes here were very smooth and well run. Each teacher had a different way of teaching, but the attitudes to teach each student in detail were common. Because the atmosphere of the class was free, even in the days of English ulceration in Korea, it was not even a few days to adapt to the class quickly. I was able to ask questions and get feedback anytime without any shyness about the parts I do not know. And I was able to make many of my classmates from all over the world, and I really enjoyed talking with them. I knew a lot about the prejudice I had or didnt know well. I naturally learned a global perspective. And I realized that the best language course is not just to increase my English, but also to have a chance to broaden my perspective of seeing things and seeing the world. I have about 6 ~ 7 months of class at NYLC. It was a very joyful and happy moment. This good memory will probably be remembered for a very long time. I thought it would have been more fun if I knew it the moment I left the United States. If you are thinking about studying abroad in the United States, or are planning, please take the opportunity. Whatever you do, when you go back to Korea, I think you will have some things. And if you are coming, I highly recommend NYLC here. Especially in New York, where prices are high, it is very important to reduce the cost of training a bit, and I think that NYLC here is less expensive than anywhere else, because it is not low quality. . Thats why I recommend it more.I think New York is a great city to live in. I really loved the experience of studying in NYLC Jackson Heights from April / 19 to October / 19.All the employees are kind and respectful and I made friends from all over the world there.Brionny, Ozan, and Ram were the best teachers for me.I recommend it to everyone who wants to improve their English, besides being good, the school is very affordable as well.It was an amazing experience studying at NYLC at Jackson Heights.All staff are attentive and I made several friends from all over the world there.My favorite school teachers were Brionny, Ozan and Ram.I recommend the school to anyone who wants to improve their English, because besides being great, the price is one of the lowest in NY.
I studied at NYLC for 10 months and the attention has always been very good from the administrative staff, they are always attentive to your needs and help you in any inconvenience. Teachers are interested in your learning process ... sometimes the methodology is a bit repetitive and routine but this is necessary in some cases to understand the grammar in English. It is the best you can find Good, Beautiful and at a good price.They accept students with a student visa. They advise the visa status change process, but at this time they are not being responsible for the process. The course for students with a student visa is much higher than the regular courses and increases as you advance in level.Regular courses last eight weeks from Monday to Thursday and have various hours during the week and on weekends. On Wednesdays there are study and review classes and on Fridays there are free conversation classes.When you start your school, you are given an oral and written test to place you on the level according to your degree of progress.They organize outings being good because it is used to strengthen the dialogue between colleagues.They do not have very good attention in terms of information but if you insist you get it.The location is very good, you have the broadway metro station very close!You find places to eat, banks etc.The school is in an economic zone in terms of residence, I feel favorable for the pockets of students.Many students find part-shift work nearby because there is a lot of commerce. In general, it is a good alternative for those who are looking for quality at an affordable price.

Well not started but I feel it is a good school a friend of my work recommended it to me, I dont remember his name but he does speak English better than me. That is why this week I will be calling, I want to take my accent when I speak, and I also want to translate English in my church.

I loved studying here ... great service, teachers very prepared for us to teach and make us feel able to learn everything about the English language and everything only in English !! I improved a lot in just one month of classes and I will definitely be back to do more classes soon !!

2022-06-18NYLC is a place where I learned and grew a lot. I came 10 months ago in order to stay just for 6 haha. I just finished last week because I’m transferring to college. NYLC helped me to get to that dream, now I’m bilingual and that’s thanks to this school. The environment, the people, The staff, the service and the teachers create a safe and great place. 2022-03-28Excellent instructions but give too much work with some learning has to be done on your own and still the teacher floods my friends Email with some much homework. Class is conducive for learning but goes on for hours without a break this woman is surely super woman as students need breaks and time to recharge their brains.

2021-11-18I just finished studying at NYLC and it was an amazing experience. It helped me to improve my English and gave me the necessary tools to be more confident when I have to talk to others. Also, there are people from different countries so it is a great opportunity to meet people and their cultures.At first, I decided to join because the prices are convenient, but then I discovered that this was just one of the great advantages of studying here.Gracias!

2017-05-12First of all, i want to tell about my experience here in New York Language center. When first time i come to New york i didnt speak american English, i found on internet about NYLC and i applied. So after 4 month now i can speak english very well, lets say my english improved. My advice for future students NYLC good option. Thank to NYLC for everything.

2017-03-07Unfortunately, I arrived to NYC in November and I was pretty excited about starting my classes there, but when it happened, I found a mediocre teacher and I got upset and disappointed because these classes were my only goal and hope of my decision to travel to NYC. Anyway, I made a formal request to get back my enrollment s money and stuff like that and I had my money back one month after all. Then, I noticed that 100.00 usd hadnt been returned and I called them to ask about them, and staff told me that those 100.00 were destined to cover my enrollment and I was like ok it doesnt matter. Finally, when I went there to pick my book up (because I didnt want to lose my money), they gave me a book supposedly that they are used to use in Level 8 (The Level 8 is the highest level), so I just checked this book with my teacher and it was the last straw! Unbelievable, there is grammar for learning B1 Level, Im shocked and thankful to would have left this school. Im going to show you my book. There are two options, or staff personal gave me a wrong book, or the academic level in this school is too bad for learners. Im writing this because Im upset, although I got back my money and I lost 100.00, Id like to say that I dont recommend learning English in this school.

2020-03-05Ive studied at NYLC for 1 year and a half and I feel very lucky by choosing this place to improve my English. All members working there were very friendly and helpful and the classes always entertaining.If I would be given a chance to take additional classes I would certainly choose again NYLC, because is not only a place where you can improve your English skills, but its also a place where you can find gregarious people, sincere friendship and great tips for living in NYC.

2018-07-21I came from Brazil to improve my English skills before a attending a master degree in Europe.In fact, I chose the school for its very low cost. But my highest expectations have been exceeded.Besides being located next to the metro, the school offers a good infrastructure.But on the top of that I had the best teachers ever and a great staff helping in everything.I’m so thankful and I’ll be back next year.
