NY Language Center is great school. I had been learning here since I arrived in NY. The teacher are totally prepared and good. The activities are fun and diversity. I had spent 20 hours of my week in this school and I made real friends here. I will carry my friends and my learning forever.
New York Language Center is a place where you can learn and improve your English, you could meet people from any country, also you could learn about other cultures. The most important thing is when youll finish each level, youll see the difference. It was wonderful experience and especially for me It was a pleasure belong of the NYLC students. Studying at NYLC was one of my best experiences in New York. I improved my English skills, and made a lot of friends. The teachers and the people that work in there are attentive and kind, so is joyful to learn. They always have extra activities, as walks to sightseeing landmarks, visits to museums, watch sports matches and others activities. I’m thankful for all the friends and the memories that I made in there.

I have been this school for more than 1 year. I love this school so much! Teachers are very nice and helpful. I have learned a lot of things here. I took the best TOEFL classes ever with Mia. She is pretty awesome. I can always count on Caitlin help with my visa questions. Kimberly is the BEST seriously! I love her so much so muuuuch! Ricky, Melinda and Anna are also good, I miss them!! I visited the school for 5 months and Im really happy that I found this school trough the Internet. I recommend this place for those who wants to make new friends and also have fun during lessons. I just can speak about the TOEFL class which was really helpful.The teachers which I had were really kind and helpful when I had some problems.One minus point is that the rooms are really small which sometimes can be really annoying.

I loved my experience in NYLC! The staff is so friendly and always willing to help. I had 2 teachers during my period, and both of them were amazing, with a good background and knowledge about english grammar. The location is also a good point! Its really near to the subway station. About the book, it was very interesting with dinamic exercises and relevant themes.
My sister and I went to the NYLC broadway to take the TOEFL class!!! It was a good experience. Its a really friendly emvironement to learn english!!! Matt was a good teacher! In a few weeks we saw the difference in our level and at the same time we feell so comfortable in the TOEFL preparation!!!!! GO to the NYLC Broadway!!! its a must!!!!
New York Language Center is incredible!!! when i arrived here my English was not good, I learned to much in a short time, if you are planning to come to New York this school will be perfect, because you can meet people from different parts of the world and learn different cultures too.
I had a nice time learning English at NYLC, where I could find good teachers, helpful people at the office and I have also met some friends here!. It is a school I would highly recommend if you want to improve your English skills.
Teacher Kim is very good. Bringing updated and useful subjects to the classroom, turning learn English a dynamic task. However, students sharing the same class clearly have different English levels. The facilities are awful (to say the least). Extremely tight classrooms, a heater and an AC that was not working well a single day, making the school an inappropriate environment to study (stuffy and super high temperatures).

To be honest this is the best language center in New York City I have tried 3 langages center and I was really disappointed . Ive been studying there for 9 months and after 6 months I took my toefl exam and got the grade that I want for college without taking any toefl class. The staff is just perfect talking and joking with everyone(Hi Kimberly and Sully) ,the teachers are not boring and theyll always find a way to make you learn without the feeling of being in school. The DSO is so useful. She will understand you and do whatever she can to help you(Hey Caitlyn).Were always working with classmates and thats very important to improve our englishI miss all these positive people honestly 😕
At the beginning of my arrival in New York I was shy trying to speak English, so I think this course helped me to have more confidence and less shyness to speak this language, I met new people and the teachers are very good, so I learned a lot. If you want to learn English I absolutely recommend this place.
I come to do this english course with my sisters and I believe that this was one of my best experiences. I really improved my english, learned a lot, not just english but about culture, ways of life, and many things. I had the opportunity to know people from all over the world and learn with them to. The director and other people that work here were very helpful and kind. I really enjoyed and recommend this experience.

Organization and seriousness: where are you? Fully disappointed.Although there are good teachers, most of them are not but the real problem is the organization. Dont pay before you have tried a free class.- IELTS class is completely USELESS -99% students in nylc are studing there just because of the VISA...
To those who r disabled lke me, DO NOT waste your time in applying for an ESL teacher job with this school. 3 years ago, I submitted an application package for an ESL teacher job position at least 2x more about 3 years ago, which was disregarded in the end. Having the CELTA is meaningless to them. The only way that a person can even get hired here is if they or someone they know has connections with high-level staff to leverage the hiring process to their advantage.

My story:-Theres not photo from JH for one reason.. is not as Mid or UWS (as I thought);-the staffs in JH speaks in Spanish almost all the time, which doesnt help who wants to learn English;-I decided to transfer school and they give me 3 different prices (180, then 10 and then 300). Then they give me one week free to fix that;-After transfer, the school called me to see why I was absent, so I explained I was not absent I jus transfer the school, something that they should know-A little more organization and communication is missing for sure.Hope they fix that in the future.

I was in school for 6 weeks from the end of February to the middle of April 2022.I took the classes of Mr. Serena and Mr. Raychel in the beginner 2 class, but both of them were very kind and playful, treated me equally to all the students, and even I, a beginner of English conversation, did not mind the class. I was able to enjoy.In the class, it is important to let students communicate in English about universal themes such as music, art, movies, education, what did you do last weekend and what is your favorite food. I felt like I was putting it.I feel that this curriculum is right because I think it is important to actually speak the language while struggling on my own.There are few Japanese and Asians, and many students come from Central and South America and Europe, so it is recommended for people like me who do not want to get used to each other. (Many students can speak Spanish, and sometimes I was a little worried about starting to speak privately in Spanish.)I think the tuition fee is easier than other schools, and the school was generally highly satisfying.Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Yetsenia for communicating with me by email even before I entered school.Thank you very much.
When I decided to study English in New York City, many questions arose in my head regarding which school to choose that would offer me: Safety, A pleasant and comfortable environment, Quality classes, and the like. I must admit that Choosing New York Language Center was the best decision I could make. It has an excellent staff not only competent but also very courteous. My experience was wonderful; Although it takes a long time to learn English, in the weeks that I was there I had a great learning experience and best of all, I made excellent friends. Recommendations: Greater assertiveness when placing students is their respective level; very large groups, I understand that the class must be a maximum of 16 students in high season. The teachers are extremely capable and dynamic, the classes reflect a lot of American daily life, with debates that help us in the capacity to interpret different realities. I went to this schools beginner class for 8 weeks. It was a lot of fun to learn English with people in many different countries and occupations and the environment!I wanted to go even more if possible. Uptown school was able to relax and be able to communicate in a calm environment.After school we went out with other class people and had a good time. My teacher and everyone of the staff love a unique and free atmosphere.
I did six months at NYLC. Every day spent in this language school has been constructive for me. The teachers are very experienced and cultivated, very open to learners. It is also a place of cultural exchange. The staff is very dynamic and welcoming. Admission procedures are also fast. I advise you NYLC if you intend to come to the USA for your linguistic studies.

Excellent experience at the school, the best English academy in NY, in addition to being in a very picturesque neighborhood, both the people who receive you and the teachers are very friendly and always before helping you. I was in this school in May and June 2018. It was a great choice since before choosing I was looking at other schools in Manhattan. Despite the short time I learned a lot of English and I made several friends. A great choice, a great school in a beautiful neighborhood. The best of all this time was Eve, always very friendly and predisposed and the attention of Lina and Arlette before any query, very kind and always with a smile.
Very good school! I came to NY initially on vacation and I thought that in 3 weeks of studying English the advance would not be much, but it totally exceeded my expectation! 2021-11-19I studied 4 weeks at the advanced level and it was an incredible experience, I had two teachers with totally different methodologies but from both of them I learned a lot and I believe that each one used the correct methodology that helped me to be more confident speaking English. I recommend the school for the price, the quality of the classes, and the easy access to public transportation. As a bonus, the activities on Fridays are very good, they helped me to meet many people from all over the world.

2022-07-01Im from the Dominican Republic and I highly recommend NYLC as the best institute to learn English. I have been studying for about 5 months and my pronunciation and comprehension of English has improved a lot.I was very shy to express myself with others in English, and I already feel more confident to speak with native speakers. Thanks to teacher Izzet Akin, for his good teaching strategies. He is a very creative and funny teacher. Thanks to him, I speak more fluently and I dont stay in the air when people speak to me super fast outside the institute. He is a very wise, patient and dedicated teacher.With him you learn or you learn.

2021-08-31I studied 2 weeks at NYLC last month and had a very good experience. Starting with the people in the office, they are all very professional. First we had classes with Briony, she is an excellent teacher, then we had classes with Andy, also excellent, both very professional and committed to their work. The classes are dynamic and fun, the study environment is very pleasant. Of course I will return to classes when I return to NY, keep it up and thank you very much!

2019-10-24I really enjoyed the school at the NYLC. The teachers are really friendly, and we talked about many different and interesting things and topics. The TOEFL prep class was very good. We did many different exercises, which are perfect for preparation. The books really support the lessons and now Im looking forward to take the exam.
