Customer service is terrible, and the food is subpar. They also dont take cards, only cash.
Friendly staff. Great menu. Amazing people. Clean eating area, decorated nicely and comfortable. My daughter is interning with them before she goes into The Culinary Institute of America for college. Friendly environment and even the other customers are friendly and offer recommendations of whats on the menu. Great food and service.
Cute place, caring staff, great dogs, sausage gravy & biscuits, green eggs (not really) & ham. no bad choices. rice pudding, salads, burgers,hot and cold sandwiches- no bad choices.
Nothing spectacular to mention. At least I can say I tried it. Ill keep on looking. Interesting decor.
Good food but terrible customer service, the lady at the window needs to adjust her attitude! After asking for breakfast a little after Noon she had the worst attitude, she even slammed the window in my face before telling me my grand total. I will NEVER come back to a place that made me feel as if I was begging for breakfast! No thank youuuu!!

Amazing food. Been in business my entire life. Well priced, I think we as a city should go here more often becausr this is a great local business to support. They often help those whom need employment. They are overall one of the best. Give it a chance and please go here whether it be for breakfast and conversation or a romantic meal! Go get a menu, check out the hours and eat, eat and eat some more.

My favorite thing about NYL is that nothing has changed since my childhood. it makes me feel at home. I love being able to walk in and everything is so familiar. the food is amazing every single time without fail. the staff is always so friendly and inviting. I would definitely recommend to anyone who sets foot in Gloversville.

Took my granddaughter Gracee and she loves the chicken fingers and ff I myself had to have their famous hotdog with meat sauce so yummy! The girls that work there are always welcoming snd so attentive!

New York Lunch is still a great hometown place for delicious hot dogs and other foods and service with a smile. There are great specials each day and its a great community institution that has been serving the city with distinction for decades.
Sat here for 45 minutes Fathers day morning with my family. Wasnt offers food drinks coffee nothing. Need more professional staff and promt service! Do not eat here if youre hungry.
Go their every Monday for lunch with my father if not busy. Great family owned restaurant that makes you fit in as family yourself. As well Ill mention they have best meat sauce ever.
Had a roast beef and Swiss sandwich and asked for Cole slaw instead of chips. Got charged full price for the sandwich without getting the chips or pickle that the menu said it came with. Got charged $2.99 for a coffee cup of Cole slaw when I wanted a scoop in a side dish. Also had water. Total bill was $10.78 plus $1.22 tip. Thats the last money they will get from me. The waitress didnt tell me no substitutions. 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 should get 0 stars.I really wanted the pickle just not the greasy chips.

We have had great breakfast experiences there but yesterday was not one of them over medium eggs were too runny the whites were runny the home fries werent cooked they were still raw and no flavor the bacon was burnt and the sausage gravy had an inch and a half of orange grease on top and no flavor it was very disappointing i hope they get a different cook soon.

2022-07-07Breakfast is good. Hot dogs are awesome. They will grill the hotdogs if you ask. You can also get hotdogs with breakfast food--you might just have to wait, depending on when you go. Staff are nice and food is good. Not too badly priced. Definitely recommend.

2021-12-30I am from Texas. They dont take credit cards only cash. (What century is this anyway). Didnt know that until I went to pay my bill. Had to use the ATM on site that costs $2.50 to use. Thats dishonest and a rip off. Welcome to Upstate New York. Cant wait to get back to civilization. Nothing has changed here since I was a kid other than it has gotten worse.

2021-12-06Great food! Had bacon,egg and cheese on roll to go other day,huge and delicious! And stopped for breakfast Sunday, home fries are baked first I think, delish! My omelet was huge, sausage, pepers,onion and cheese. Great sausage!

2022-01-06My grandfather and I go here every Thursday morning for breakfast on my day off, and we love it. Food is great, good prices, nice staff, we’re happy with it. Some would complain it’s cash only, but there’s nothing wrong with that. People will complain about everything nowadays. Highly recommend.
