If you want to be safe, DON’T go to Marriott Downtown Hotel in New York City.In March 2022, I was attending a conference held on the third floor of the hotel. I left my laptop unattended for less than 10 minutes in the main conference room while there were still employees from the hotel in that room. When I came back, my laptop was stolen, along with 5 other computers. We have footage of the person stealing the computers, opening personal bags and then leaving using a service door. I assume the person had to have inside knowledge of the hotel to know and have access to the service door.I obviously was very unhappy loosing my laptop. But what shocked me is that anyone can come in and out of that hotel without security noticing. The hotel emphasized they cannot be responsible for people coming in and out of the hotel, then why would anyone want to stay at the hotel if they cannot feel safe walking in the corridors and leaving their belongings in their room? Despite me asking about security and actions the hotel will take to remediate security issues, nothing has been done and the hotel has been silent. In addition, they refused to compensate me for the loss of my laptop and were unfeeling about my situation. If you want you and your belongings to be safe, I DO NOT recommend staying at the hotel.
Room 2909 had a great view over the Hudson River, Ellis Island and New Jersey. The room was clean when we arrived and we received room service every day during our stay. They charge 25 bucks/day for city tax but provide you with complimentary vouchers as a compensation. You can for example get a 25 dollar discount at Bills bar on their ground floor - but they are pretty overpriced too. The hotel is close to touristic sights: the 911 memorial, the Battery Park (where you can take the ferry to the islands), the One World Trade Center etc.Overall it was a good experience.
Overall, my stay at this hotel was just OK. Stayed for 2 nights for leisure. The hotel building itself feels a little outdated, but the rooms have been remodeled with modern furnishings and the bathroom is very sleek. We received an upgrade to the a River View room on a high floor, which was really nice. The front desk service at this hotel is poor, however. Staff is neither warm nor friendly, but maybe thats just New York for ya. Theres a Club Lounge on the 38th floor, but it was extremely crowded. Long lines for food, food was running out, tables were left dirty, etc. The staff in the lounge were doing their best to manage the situation, and I applaud them for their professionalism, but you can tell both they and guests alike were getting frustrated. I hope this hotel reconsiders who receives access to the Club Lounge because the experience is not good. The Starbucks thats attached to this hotel also had a really long line in the morning, and so did the onsite restaurant, Bills Bar & Burger. I probably wouldnt stay here again. Id rather try a different hotel next time Im visiting New York.
Room was dirty when we got in. Floors were dirty and the toilet had a stain on the outside. The shower had unhygenic pumps of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Someone could have opened them and filled them with anything. The body wash pump was broken. You can hear every sound including people slamming doors at 3am and construction at 12am the first night. They put us on the floor with the fitness room so we had to hear that door slam early in the morning too. Had a reservation and the lady took a long time checking us in then we couldnt hear her when she was trying to explain the amenities and services. Not planning on going to a Marriott again, especially when you have to pay ~$400 a night for this room.
Flight canceled. Rebooked then lost luggage at Newark. Perfect storm of unforeseen circumstances. Checked in at 3 am. Day shift staff Nicky at front desk was the sweetest lady that went above and beyond to help us. Night shift Kayla was exceptional and went out of her way to assist. Thankful
Cool views if you are lucky (only one side offers exceptional views, all the Hudson side rooms are pretty average).Old and not too tidy corridors, small rooms, unclean windows. Moreover, surprisingly poor treatment of Marriott Bonvoy high tier clients. No upgrade despite tons of available room and staff readiness to upgrade at checkin for cash.Overall I decided to change after one night to J.W. and was super happy afterward.
We dont see people walking around or walking outside of the hotel, actually it is busy and most of the time full house. They have own valet parking for the subscriber and hotel guest. A bar and snacks store inside, they have other facilities. Staffs are not too good and not bad. Cars usually stands in the place of loading zone.
Good hotel, clean and attentive front desk. Hudson view was nice upgrade. Minutes from the 1 subway that takes you straight up into Mid Manhattan. Location is quiet with nice location close to Hudson walking path and some good eating/drinking establishments not tourist packed. You can use $25 daily charge for pantry or Bills. Bills is just ok for breakfast plus mediocre (ok, bad) service . Long waits for order, coffee, and bill We went outside to a place around the corner after 2 days after Bills bad servce.Try amazing food at Zaza or Georges both in walking distance better food and service
Had an expensive package delivered late, after I left, and asked a friend to pick it up - when he went to collect it, they claimed they sent it back and UPS have no record of this. Followed up for two months but they repeatedly refused to reply to my email. Horrible customer service experience with the manager Jessica Soler. Do NOT stay here, they steal packages. Hotel also had no heaters in the winter. Would absolutely NOT reccomend.
Positive: Very basic, minimal amenities in the room, no room service or food delivery, overpriced for what¿s included Negative: No room service, even food delivery was not readily accepted, delivery drivers advised to just put food/packages on a table on the side of the front desk
Was working from my room while traveling and hung my Do Not Disturb sign since I am on business calls all day. Never had an issue at any other hotel. House keeping called every 10 mins for 2 hrs until i was able to answer the phone. She insisted on coming into the room to use my phone so she wouldnt have to file a report. She stormed in walked around and never touched the phone. When I called the front desk they advised that thay have never hear of such a thing. Still trying to figure out what that was all about a week later.
Went to Downtown @Marriott NYC to visit my brother, who’s on a trip. Got stuck in the elevator for 40 mins with my wife, 2 kids and my brother. I missed my Uber and it all ended up delaying us by more than an hour. The saddest part was how @Marriott handled the situation after that. I understand that I was not the guest but I was visiting a guest (who was also there in the elevator) and there were two little kids who were really scared. Their manager (I won’t name) comes and (without any courtesy or asking how we’re doing or offering even cup of water or even apologizing for the situation) tells me that “he understands that I missed my Uber but I can always get another one. He doesn’t have any way to make it right for us.” The tone he talked to us was so rude! I know me or my family is nothing for a company like Marriott but the manager behavior costed Marriott customer for the lifetime.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights this week. It truly was perfect! Very clean, well looked after. Bellhops were very helpful, especially Atrosi??? Sorry that is not spelled right, but the older gentleman. The desk staff were good. Stacey in the concierge lounge was over the top fabulous! Really! So friendly and genuine, she really cares about everyone and that youre getting everything you could want. There was a really nice woman the first morning too, Mar 16th but only saw her once and cant remember her name. All the food, breakfast, apps and deserts - all over the top delicious! The lounge itself was amazing we were away for a month and stayed at Marriotts the whole time from NB Canada to Florida and back and I have to say this propertyoutshines all the others by a long shot! Beds very comfortable. View was amazing. You can hear a bit from other rooms but its not bothersome. Location was great. Wish I could live there!!!! Thanks again Stacey. We had a fun conversation with that gentleman from Albany who works for the government. He warned me about the subway
We’re from rural Vermont and new to NYC. It was easy to drive right to the hotel. The valet service was perfect, and all hotel staff were so kind and helpful. Beautiful view of the bay. Easy walk to everything we wanted to see and experience. Easy walk to the subway to reach Times Square and the theater district. Rooms were clean and comfortable and well stocked. Staff were responsive to all requests and gave a lot of city navigation help. Just a great place to stay!
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! When I arrived I was greeted warmly by everyone I encountered. The male receptionist who helped me that night (I wish I knew his name) was extremely helpful and he made me feel really comfortable. He put me in a gorgeous room with a beautiful view of the city. I will definitely return to this Marriott property in the future. I just wish there was a microwave
Upon arrival, the room could have been cleaner, with a lot of dust and sand on the floor. The towels, sheets, and pillows were clean and the beds really comfortable. The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was stern and serious...The restaurant had great food and strong drinks and the waiters and bartenders were very good. the restaurant is pricy even by NYC standards. Nice to have a Starbucks on the first floor. We never made it up to the observation deck. We stay here every time we travel for the 9/11 memorial.
We came in to the city to celebrate my moms B-day. The hotel was excellent! The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They were so pleasant to deal with. The room was beautiful, they upgraded us and we got into the room at a great time and then we had late check out. We are Marriott Bonvoy Members. This hotel was spot on! Great job!
We had a great experience recently at the Marriott Downtown. Location was superb as well as the facilities. Our rooms were large, clean, and updated. Front desk was very friendly and helpful! Valet was attentive and our car was returned much quicker than anticipated. Would definitely recommend to others and stay here again.
Enjoyed our two-night stay. The staff were very friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. This is a convenient property if you want to explore the serenity of Battery Park City (new and good restaurants within walking distance), to tour the World Trade Center or VanGogh exhibit, or to do business in the Financial District. A nice surprise was the Starbucks located on the first floor.
Our family of 4 was in NY for the weekend and based on the very good reviews, we wanted to try this place out. Thanks to the previous reviewers and this place lived up to it. Our room was on 33rd floor with awesome NY skyline view through window. The room was spacious, clean and with excellent amenities. Dont expect a free breakfast. The website can be improved by adding additional information regarding unloading and parking. For example, we went around the hotel a couple of times before figuring out that we can park temporarily in front of the hotel to unload. Website indicated $65 for parking per day without in/out privilege but we were pleasantly surprised it was only $40 with in/out privilege and it is on 24 hours basis. This meant we were able to load our stuff in the car after check out and went out the next day without additional fees. Also, the internet charge of $14.95 per day was reimbursed since I was elite member of Marriott. Location was great with only a block from many tourist attractions and subway. This place will be our first choice next time when we plan to stay in NY.
Everything was good! Location and view was worth the money but not the room. Cleanliness was very poor, we found hair in the bathroom and the room was super dusty. We understand things are tight due to covid which is the reason why the rooms should be Sanitized and cleaned throughly before the guest arrive. We brought wipes and cleaned the room ourselves. Other than the room everything else was good.
Positive: Clean, close to several subway lines. Negative: Resort fee is $25 plus taxes which came to about $28/day. They allow you to use this towards their restaurant and Gift Shop. The gift shop only has candy, chips, soda, water, medicines, bathroom accessory. TIP: get a receipt/transaction each night.
Stayed here for an 8 day business trip. Rooms are nice and recently renovated; despite being on floor 26, there was a lot of noise during the night, which made it difficult to sleep well. Cleaning staff failed to replenish shampoo/body wash on a constant basis, as we stayed for 8 days; basic things you shouldnt have to constantly ask the staff for. The staff at the front desk could pretend they like their job. Not a bad hotel in terms of accommodation, but I wouldnt stay here again.
Since we first touched ground on the Marriott premises, we were greeted with smiles and tremendous customer service. This by far was one of the (if not THE) best hotel hospitality experiences we have had. The staff, everyone, was so kind, and accommodating to our family and everyone around us. Questions? No problem, they answered anything we needed or had questions about, even asking about local restaurants and tastes that were good. Kudos to you and the staff at the downtown Marriott. You truly helped provide my family with an even better experience in New York City.We appreciate you!The Menten Family
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when I came to visit for a week with my 3-year-old. The bellman, housekeeping, and front desk always wanted to know if there was anything they can do to make your stay any better, and always with a smile on their face.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an extremely nice place to stay in lower manhattan, especially those with families.Great location, walking distance to everything, cabs always around the corner, and amazing staff!
The NY Marriott Downtown did not disappoint! The hotel is in a beautiful location in walking distance to parking, shops, restaurants, the harbor and transportation. However, it was still quiet and peaceful at night. We were able to rest with no problems. The hotel is nicely updated and clean. As a Bonvoy member we enjoyed the attentive treatment, welcome gift, points, and late checkout. We would definitely stay at this location again.
Incredible! Kicking myself for never choosing to stay here previously when traveling to the financial district. Service is top notch. From the valet to the concierge to the front desk- could not be more accommodating. Rooms are updated and beautiful. Location gives you great access to so much. Will definitely be back!
I stayed in this hotel for a week, and the room was consistently clean. The staff is good, and the food from the restaurant is a great option if you want something quick. The hotel is a five-minute walk from everything interesting in Manhattan (WTC, Broadway, Battery Park, etc.).
I stayed at this hotel for a recent conference and I was very pleased with all aspects. I had a very nice room on the 16th floor with an amazing view of the river. The conference facilities were well laid-out and all staff members I encountered were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again or host a conference here.
I picked this place for its location and my loyalty program. After making a reservation, I requested extra shampoo and conditioner. When we checked into the room, there weren’t any extra shampoo/conditioner. The room looked clean at first, but after we unpacked, we noticed the floor hasn’t been vacuumed or cleaned for a long time. There were crumbs and small debris throughout the entire room so we kept our shoes on all the time. Poor plumbing work caused pipe noises from the adjacent room and the bathroom was too dark. When I tried to use the hair dryer, it did not work, so I had to keep my wet hair for a while. When I called the front desk ask about where to leave the room keys if I checked out from my mobile phone, she already checked me out while speaking without my consent. I planned to check out at 2:00pm. It was 9:30am when she did it. I did not want to make a big deal out of it so we decided to check out soon after. It felt like the hotel wanted to kick you out as early as possible. One more thing, the in room TV did not bring up any information about my status of stay at all whenever I tried to. This hotel needs some self evaluation and review or pay attention to what people say about them.
Overall service was great. Room was cleaned well daily. However, room had a musty, funky odor that seemed to be coming from carpet. Had to go out and get some air freshener. So not sure the value is there. Also, one wall close to bed had dirty shoe prints on it. Seems like property could be better maintained for the price.
We travel to NYC several times a year, and do our best to stay in lower Manhattan where it seems to be less crowded and a little more quiet. This was our first time in the NYC Marriott Downtown and we will definitely be back. Great location, great staff, and great amenities. There is even a full corporate Starbucks in the store for all of your coffee needs!
While the Marriott Downtown is located in the financial district there was a lot to see as a tourist. You were right next to the One World Observatory and a short cab ride from the Island and Chelsea Market. The hotel was up kept and clean. Unlike other hotels during the pandemic this one offered cleaning services every day. There is also a Starbucks and a Billis Bar and Restaurant at this location which was very convenient. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is known for their burgers. I would definitely revisit!
Reception was wonderful and staff was able to accommodate an early arrival. Room was lovely. We view this property as a gem for us. We have family close by, location is convenient to trains and local attractions, it is clean and the staff is really excellent.Thank you Marriott Downtown!
Marriott Downtown NYC was perfect location for daughter’s wedding guests. In addition to beautiful, comfortable rooms with views of Hudson River boats, the staff were all so happy for us and went above and beyond to take care of us. I stayed a week and enjoyed every minute! Location is perfect for dining in the water, shopping and easy access around town. Xxxxxxxxx Thank you, Marriott Downtown NYC! I’ll be back!
Love the Marriott Downtown location. We stay here often because children live around the corner. Staff is so friendly and hotel is very clean. The most important for me is a comfortable bed, a great shower with glass doors, and enough bathroom counter space with makeup mirror. This place has it all!!
Location was nice, and hotel front staff very courteous. Having Starbucks on-site was a plus. The only complain was the room cleanliness. Very dusty and when the AC was turned on, the dust flew everywhere. The daily room cleaning was extremely light. The carpet and dust issues were not cleaned. We stayed 5 night, by the end I just felt like going home as each day the room felt was accumulating dust without it being cleaned well.
I am very appreciative to the staff at the downtown Marriott for the treatment that we received on our recent stay. We were upgraded as soon as we walked in and received with a welcome gift from Marriott for our past stays. It was close by in walking proximity to Statue of Liberty tour and Ellis Island tours - a quick walk to the financial district and shops. The hotel was running perfect from top to bottom - with clean rooms, professional staff, courteous people, and an overall feeling of pride which made us feel fantastic in our choice!
I loved this hotel. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff was attentive and always available. The location is ideal if youre looking to stay in the downtime area. Not too much traffic so its a peaceful night. Only a few blocks away from the waterfront, World Trade Center Memorial and multiple cool bars/restaurants. Plus theres a Starbucks in the lobby.
I was showering when suddenly the ceiling fell down (pictured). While the pictures look bad enough, what you can’t see was worse. The smell of rotting, mildewing, molding ceiling contents (likely from a leaking plumbing pipe) suddenly engulfed me. Well, at least they comped 1 of my 3 nights and replaced my toothbrush 🙄UPDATE: I have been sneezing and sniffling since this happened. Clearly this is black mold. DO NOT STAY HERE. BLACK MOLD. HEALTH RISK.
Our stay at the New York Marriott Downtown was very nice and we would highly recommend it.We loved everything from the nice spacious, very clean and well equipped room, reasonable priced. An amazing view from the 28th floor! Elevators were fast, very convenient location, beautiful surroundings, walking distance to subway stations, the Oculus, the 911 memorial, Trinity church, One World Trade Center and parks like The Battery and the water front where we took our liberty cruise. Amenities in the room and bathroom, great to have a small fridge. We enjoyed afternoon time back at the room to rest after a long day around the city. Our stay was great, nice friendly staff. We are looking forward to come back to the NYC Marriot Downtown soon!
I practically live in a Marriott as well as use my Bonvoy card every day. I always stay a minimum of one week, thus I am particular about the room I have to live in for that time period. It is too difficult to move everything once I get “moved in.” I always call well ahead of check in to make sure the staff saves a good room for me vs. giving the good rooms to people who only booked one night. I paid for a river view and received an obstructed view. I asked to be moved, which I was - to a higher floor - same exact room. Despite my spend with Marriott and Bonvoy, I get exactly what I paid for which is the same price and room as people who stay one night at a Marriott per year. When I asked for a late check out, the staff person was very snarky. I asked for housekeeping ONE time and it was a fail and a no show. After a year of Covid excuses and never expecting ANYTHING (“because of Covid”) - I was hoping for a little more. I have spent the last 12 MONTHS at Marriott cleaning my own room, changing my own sheets and getting sub par or ZERO service. Marriott needs to do a MUCH better job of educating staff that business travelers want to have a room in a quiet place - NOT by the elevator, NOT by the ice machine, NOT next to the room with 5 kids. If I have a guaranteed room and I am paying for it anyway - I should not get what is “leftover” when I check in. I have another one week stay coming up - I hope that it’s better. I will once again be calling ahead and hoping to get a nice room for my extended stay.
$25 a day for something I can’t use. My house was burned to ashes during December & I don’t have a vaccine card, but I’m in the process of getting it. State of NV doesn’t have digital copies unfortunately. So I can’t use the gym or use my $25 dine in credit.I spoke to an Indian gentleman up at the front desk who was very rude & wasn’t helpful at all.
It was a very enjoyable experience at Marriott Downtown. We spent most of the day exploring NYC and after a tiring day we came back to the room to rest and it didn’t disappoint. It was so clean and refreshing which made the experience better. Also it was a newly renovated room. The housekeeping did a wonderful job.
The staff was very helpful, even though check in is at 4PM they saw us waiting and actually let us check in early without any extra cost! The staff was very helpful and patient with any inquires and concerns we had. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable! The only take away is that the restaurant attached to the hotel: Bills burgers I believe it is was very overpriced for the quality of food. When we went in to eat we waited for around 15 minutes to be seated, even though there was a group of waiters at a table laughing and talking. A person who I assumed is a manager helped us, but had a nasty attitude and was incredibly unhelpful during the ordering process. It was way expensive, but the food didn’t match the price. Rude staff, expensive food even if it was just average. Other than that, the rest of the hotel is very nice and I loved my stay there. The location is also a few minutes from 3 subway entrances and has a 7/11 nearby for any forgotten medicine or sunscreen. There are also many restaurants near by to eat at for breakfast and dinner!
We arrived at 9am after a red eye flight. The front deck was very accommodating to our early check-in request and found a room for us right away. The room was very clean. When we found out the safe box was not working and the door bell light was too bright for us, the service team responded quickly and fixed everything in no time. The room service was very well done during our stay. This was our first leisure trip after staying home for more than 15 months. Our stay in Marriott made us feel very safe and relaxed. Marriott has maintained its standard very well even during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Stayed here for two nights, checked in really early (due to my fight being diverted to Detroit the evening before) - really appreciated it. The room was fantastic, the area is great. The gym exceeded my expectations - spacious and really well equipped. Would definitely recommend.
My stay at the New York Marriott downtown was great! The hotel is in a very convenient location near multiple train and bus stations so it is easy to get to wherever you need and it is especially convenient to the 9/11 Memorial and museum. The building is well insulated and quiet at night which resulted in great rest. Staff was friendly and on point and rooms were clean and welcoming. Great job!
Its time to get past Covid and restore services. The elite lounge should not be an option that is closed on weekends. Hotel was plenty busy. If the lounge had been open, I would rate this hotel 5-stars despite no suite upgrade (hello Marriott, my earned suite stays are nearly impossible to use!)Things I found exceptional with this hotel - nice blackout curtains, cold AC, great sleep experience, nice views of Manhattan, responsive room service, very modern room facilities/decor. They were good about providing bottled water and coffee. Nice access to Citi Bikes to get around. Very good workout facility.
Great room vs price. Probably the best I had stayed in NY.Around 320 sq feet space with 2 full beds, nice desk to work, mini fridge, large bath, closet, super clean hotel/room, amazing and friendly staff. Great views. If you are looking for something away from the super touristy places this is it. Very calm at night, close to good restaurants, stores and subway stations a few blocks aways.Good restaurant on the first floor, but closes a bit early (9PM)
Positive: Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff were wonderful, our room attendant took care of all our needs without even asking, like extra coffee and towels. Location is right in the financial district, close to subway stations. Plenty of dining near by. Negative: The windows do not open.
This hotel has amazing rooms and views that are the best I’ve seen in lower Manhattan, with a reasonable price for what you get. The rooms are put together beautifully and the bathroom was great to use! The only issue I had was with the service at the front desk. There was a problem with car payment that they messed up on which made us have a set back. Other than that, everything was amazing and the front desk people were still kind and handled the situation well. I would definitely go here again!
New favorite place to stay in NYC! Parking garage is directly across the street. World Trade Center memorial and museum is two blocks up and Battery Park with the Liberty cruise is a 10 minute walk the other direction. Close to the subway, our room had a perfect view of the Statue of Liberty, and I was reasonably priced. Hotel staff was polite, lobby restaurant was great and they had a good drink menu. Rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfortable.
My stayed was part of a business group and checks in was very quick. Kelvin, the attendant who checked me in was very pleasant. The facilities were clean and inside was kept up well. The towels were a little rough on the skin and I noticed that a discarded bag (which I assumed to be food) was left outside a door for more than 24hrs.
I stayed in the Marriot hotel Downtown on a vacation just a short distance away from my home in Stamford. The room was a good size, and was kept very clean. My room was on one of the top floors, and I the view included The statue of liberty and Ellis island. Overall great stay.
Overall this hotel offers little in service. Everything was extra - proper air conditioning in room with 90 degree heat outside, towels, toilet paper and Kleenex needed to be requested from front desk. Staff were pleasant but clearly could have done better job for repeat client.
We got moved to a hotel in Midtown after our hotel closed. After one night there we cancelled the rest of our stay and moved to the Marriott. It was a giant step up in cleanliness, hospitality, view, and location. Glad we decided to move. Would definitely stay there again.
I was in town for the OVS convention. The room was very clean and all the staff were very accommodating. I have already planned to stay at this hotel again. The room was larger than I expected. If youre familiar with NYC, you know that everything is smaller than standard. Not the case here!
The hotel room was a great size for being in NYC. We had the river view which was very nice. Everything was clean with the exception of the bathroom ceiling which needs to be painted with a different kinda of paint like Activa or something there were yellow spots. The only issue we had with our stay was the consistency of having hot water in the shower. We had to let the water run for 5-10mins before it got hot. So if your in a hurry may want to plan ahead and turn the shower on first because it took a while. But it was overall a enjoyable stay we would go back.
Great Hotel, easy walk to the Subway, 9/11 Museum, resturants and shopping. Room was large an comfy with a great view of the Hudson River and Ellis Island. Staff was very friendly and acommodating and the at Bill was very good and not too expensive. I will definite book it again for my next trip to NYC
We entered the TD bike New York ride and this hotel was only blocks from the start. The doorman was fabulous and the desk staff was very helpful and polite. Really enjoyed our short stay here. The traffic is less congested in this area also. Close to bike path and a block from 911 memorial.
Excellent location in lower Manhattan that is accessible by car with a parking garage across the street. Friendly and knowledgeable staff members. Food at Wild Bills was very good. Starbucks on site is very convenient. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Stood in the king size Hudson view bedroom which was very nice and just like the photos provided. The bathroom was great in space and lighting. They only provide coffee no water, but fridge is a decent size. Room was very clean when first entering. I disliked the connecting door between rooms honestly. Overall stay was nice and view was beautiful.
My visit to the NYM was my first business travel trip in over 18 months. They assuaged my pandemic anxiety with excellent COVID safety protocols. The staff were warm and friendly, and the conference lunch boxes were delicious. Plus the NYM has proximity to many sites and activities that I love! Five star rating from me!
The hotel was nice and the staff were pleasant. The restaurant connected to the hotel was awesome and the employees were very nice and helpful. I love that Starbucks is also connected. Only problem is I didnt get maid service any of the 3 day I stayed and constantly had to request items. Maybe room cleaning had to be requested Im not sure though.
The associate at the front desk Nicky was so rude when I was asking for help with the parking garage. I have never been treated more rudely at any Marriott property. Why is she working in hospitality if she doesn’t want to or know how to interact with people in a professional manner? Other thank that everything else was nice.
Super rude and unhelpful staff, not accommodating for groups of friends / families. This is my first time booking a Marriott over a Hilton or Hyatt, my reservation is 3 weeks away and I’m already disappointed.Definitely will not be booking a Marriott for work or pleasure travel unless the in person experience far surpasses the interaction I’ve had on the phone.Really wish I called and heard how rude they were before booking
The hotel and room was nice and clean. We called concierge at least three times. It was always busy. No one picked up. There was no instructions provided on how to access the complimentary Wifi for Elite membership. We had to go to the lobby to ask and it didnt work afterall. Also, would be nice to have some sanitary wipes provided for the room during this time period.
This is a great hotel. The beds are very comfy and the view of the city on the top floors is beautiful. If you’re at ambassador level, you will not get your full benefits here. They do not provide a breakfast voucher for the connected restaurant. Instead you’ll get 750 points. There is no welcome gift either. Just more points are offered.
Really impressed with this facility. Very clean, well layed out and accessible. I also consider it very central to many parts amd activities of the city. The room(s) are slightly - but not by much - tighter than one anticipates -- its NYC and real estate is valuable.Beds are so comfortable. Another balanced mattress of stiffness. Top was soft that your body can mold to it and then the next layer would be more stiff. Pillows I will say were a bit too soft and fluffy for my liking - but heres the the - its all good and I was able to fluff the pilllow how I wanted it. Linens, oh the linens. Soft, clean, crisp, fresh and plenty long to tuck my feet and arms.Bathroom was decently sized that 3 people could easily be in there without hitting elbow. Bathroom linens are what have this a 5 star. They are thick, heavy duty and scratchy. I like scratchy bath linens over soft and fluffy ones because I feel like I get cleaner and dryer. Shower water pressure is sufficient....but the hot water takes a long time to get heated up (if youre into hot showers).T.V. is nice, clear clean picture. Plenty of channels to choose from. Last but not least -Staff is incredible. Very kind. Helpful. Patient. Highly recommend this for travelers.
We highly recommend this hotel without qualification! We experienced not one single concern or issue during our stay. The location is about everything you could hope for lower Manhattan. The staff were fantastic, the facility was spotless, and the room and its view were incredible.
It is a nice hotel as a usual but it needs to improve the cleaning wherever we couldn’t see; behind of TV and AC, bathroom. I could see some hairs in the room which is not the same color of mine. Also whenever the next room was using their bathroom, all the sounds came into my room; shower and toilet. In general, the front desk service was very nice and kind.
Beautiful property, Great Location, Very Nice and Spacious Rooms...but,...upon arrival, there was no help with the luggage? While I dont typically have an issue with handling my own luggage Ive always had a different expectation with Marriott. I would attribute it to a momentary glitch if not for your front desk staff assisting with the operation of the elevator (versus calling for the Bellman?)...and perhaps the most notable: about an hour after arriving we requested an ice bucket (after being very surprised that there was not one already in the room!), after about 35-40 minutes we followed up and was told it was coming...about 2 1/2 - 3 hours later we were leaving for the evening and I expressed my sympathies with the the front desk person for their challenges with the ice bucket shortage, I was assured one would be left in our room while we were out. As of our late check-out the next day, the ice bucket had still not arrived......a small thing but very impactful and highly noteworthy.
Positive: par for the course, solid choice for a 4star hotel in a good location near the World Trade Center and Wall Street Negative: little odd that Marriott paywalls WiFi access unless youre a Bonvoy member, WiFi is a pretty standard amenity these days... would be like paywalling kleenexes
We really enjoyed our week stay at the Downtown Marriott Hotel. We booked connecting rooms (1 king and two queens) for our family of 5. The rooms were large and really nice. No pool or continental breakfast but we knew that when we booked. Dunkin Donuts was a block away and there was a Starbucks right in the hotel. Close walk to the Metro. Only a few blocks from the 9/11 Museum. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in NYC.:)
The hotel was dirty. The sheets were torn, the pillow cases were dirty and 2 of pillows were soiled. The bathroom rail above the sink was thick with dust. 2 of the towels had stains (1 red like blood) on them. The iron didnt work. I went out to buy towels and washcloths to use fir my personal use. When I checked in I requested clean pillow cases but didn’t know the other 2 pillows under the cases were dirty. I reported it to the manager when I checked out and he acted like it wasn’t a big deal and he was going to report it to the housekeeping staff. I will never stay there again and will not refer it to anyone else. I have pics of everything I mentioned above if you want them.
New York Marriott Downtown was the perfect hotel for our girls trip to NYC. We started each day with a Starbucks from inside the hotel and then moved to a nice park right across the street. We were close to a subway station and within walking distance to several great spots, including the 911 Memorial. Bob’s Burgers was a good spot to have a drink or burger at the end of each day.
My family and I just visited NYC for my son’s wedding which was in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This was a convenient spot to get back and forth to Brooklyn Just a couple of issues: WIFI should be complimentary considering we all use smart phonesThe phones in the room do not connect directly to front desk.Overall we were pleased with stay
Requested a specific room type on the app several days in advance but no rooms were ready when I arrived at 2.15pm - went to get coffee and told someone would call me cell to let me know when the room was ready - two hours later and no phone call I return and turns out they took the wrong number down so they said it went to a fax machine. One quick check of my account details would have told them my correct cell number. Went to the gym - sign on door preventing access and telling you to go to front desk for access. So I go to the front desk and they tell me I need to provide proof of vaccine to receive a separate key card for the gym. I had no issue with this but couldnt understand why they did not ask me when I checked in if I would need a gym key card as I then had to return to my room to retrieve my vaccine card, back to the front desk for the key card, then to the gym. During my last 24 hours I could not get hot water from the bathroom sink. Was barely even warm. On the last morning when I went to shower it took 15 minutes for the water to be warm enough to stand under.
Very comfortable room. Great view of the Statue of Liberty. I had a really good rate coming off Covid shutdown. I would stay there again. Front Desk agents were very nice! The system was down and I could not check out, and restaurant service was very slow and limited. Other than that, fabulous stay.
We stayed here for a girls trip after having a not so good stay at an AirbnB. I would highly recommend the hotel for the location if you come to NY for sights, but the staff here is also EXCELLENT and very accommodating. The rooms were cleaning, great view and high-end bedding which made for a comfortable nights sleep!
Since this hotel is located in the Manhattan area my expectations of its comfort & customer care were high, but unfortunately it was just average! The hotel is located just down the block from the 911 Memorial and is central to a lot of nice bars and restaurants, but the lobby area leaves a lot to be desired because you have to carry all your luggage up a flight of stairs in order to get to the front desk and check-in, not a pleasant experience especially when you have a sizeable amount of luggage. The staff, although good natured, were depressing a majority of the time which made them somewhat unapproachable to ask any questions, it was like Dont Bother Me Right Now look, no greeting at all, just a distant stare?
The hotel is great, we stay every year to attend 9/11 ceremoniesWe usually eat at Bill’s in the front lounge area . This year that area was closed and we had eat in the area of the restaurant in the back of the hotel. They over charged my credit card and I was assured by the server that it would be corrected, it wasn’t, and they still haven’t returned my telephone call regarding this.
The hotel was a block or two from the 9/11 Memorial!!! It was absolutely amazing!!! The staff was nice and the rooms were small but clean! The subway station was nearby as well! The rooms don’t have a microwave and there isn’t one in the building but I understand why:) Will be back soon!!!
The position of the hotel it is very nice as you are on walking distance from most of the important venues that you can visit. Plenty of restaurants in the area as well. The only bad thing is that this hotel doesnt offer breakfast. So youll have to plan in advance if you dont wanna waste any time as it happened to us
If youre in New York for the downtown area theres nothing more downtown than this Marriott. Easy walk to Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and the Battery Park - by the river - beauty. The staff is friendly for sure but could use more education. Questions seem to stump them. Beware of the parking. No one knows anything about it except the guy who takes your money at the end and he does take your money. The rooms are a bit stark, a bit cold but offer some terrific views of the Big Apple.Overall you can bet on a good stay here. Just dont bet the farm.
Would have been 5-stars if the Lounge would have been open. Best sleep ever -- great blackout curtains, cold AC, large modern comfortable room. Wanted to be further up Manhattan, but found this to be a good location...clean, safe, nice. Chinatown not far away and World Trade Center. Service was very good..everytime we requested something, it was to our room quickly. Not sure why they close the lounge over the weekend. Maybe another covid casualty? Marriott is so inconsistent for elite members. No free breakfast for half of my 4 day stay. And, of course, it never seems possible to use those suite upgrades.
Absolutely no recognition of elite status--forget Ambassador status, I didnt even get a bottle of water. Rooms are standard but wasnt super clean. I needed a paper bag at one point and asked for one, got a flat no. (which I have never experienced, from even lower tier brands)I understand the above points are not deal breakers, and there are some operational limitations given COVID. However, based on what Ive seen elsewhere both pre- and post-COVID, I expected far better from a Marriott. Will not return.
Great location if you are looking to stay in lower Manhattan / Financial District. The hotel is far enough away from WTD and the surrounding retail to not be surrounded by tourists, but still in close enough proximity to bars and restaurants that you don’t need a taxi to find places nearby. The rooms are spacious with fantastic views.
Overall, the stay was comfortable. However, the ramifications of COVID was evident in the lack of services (had to carry in my own luggage & helped other guests do the same). My room was upgraded at no cost & was clean but no room maintenance. Check-in was extremely easy & I was able to check-in earlier than was told. Front desk staff friendliness varied...some were great & others were crass. Any shortcomings I attribute to the horrid COVID. Overall the stay was fine & I will stay here again in the future.
Having many options to chose from in the vicinity made it hard at first but after looking over reviews and trying the hotel for a night, I must say my wife and I were truly impressed. Regardless of the current state of affairs, the stay was pleasant. Considering the number of rooms on site, the hotel was so quiet which helped our stay.
Overall very good big downtown/WTC hotel with gorgeous views but hit-or-miss hospitality and service (although housekeeping was excellent on both of my recent visits). Decent elevators, nice rooms. Much better hotel these days than the similarly priced Millennium across the way
My stay was EXCELLENT!!!!! Everything was EXTREMELY CLEAN!!!! There were clear signs for social distancing and the rules were followed. I felt extremely comfortable being there. I am DEFINITELY going back again. There is a restaurant in the hotel which the food was good. There are other places nearby to dineout also an some great malls to shop at too. STAY THERE YOU WILL LOVE IT.
Tough hotel to review but overall more good than bad and a satisfactory choice for the money. The good:The room is big enough, the bed is comfortable,Bathroom is also modern and clean. The room I got has the nice view of the Statue of Liberty. Staff is friendly enough. The bad:No water bottles provided in the roomUnattractive lobbyImmediate neighborhood is deserted though with little walk you get to the WTC. Hip neighborhood this is not.The ugly:The restaurant isn’t open for breakfast. The food is barely edible.
The housekeeping service in this hotel needs serious work. I find it ridiculous that you need to request for housekeeping to clean your room but even if you do, it may or may not be cleaned depending on whether you requested early enough. I requested for my room to be cleaned at around 9am. I came back around 2pm only to see that it still hadn’t been cleaned. I went down to the front desk to ask when it would be, and they checked their list, and said it wasn’t on there. I told the lady at the front desk how she was the one I had asked in person earlier that morning. She said she would try and get it done. When I got back to my room late in the evening, the bed hadn’t even been made properly. They literally had just thrown a new sheet and new duvet cover on the bed, without tucking anything in. It looked like they had forgotten to put a sheet and there was just the mattress protector. How hard is it to make a bed? This is just pure laziness. I’ve stayed at many different Marriott chain (ritz, edition, jw Marriott, Marriott, moxy, etc) hotels before. This really isn’t a Marriott when it comes to service. I think I understand now why the moxy hotels in the city are considered higher category bonvoy redemption hotels than this one.
The front desk staff at the Downtown Marriott is exemplary. The hotel housekeeping is excellent, but you may need to request it during the pandemic. If you utilize the subway there is access to three different lines within 3 or 4 blocks. Please note that this hotels access is to downtown and not midtown activities in the absence of transportation.
Was an amazing stay with amazing views. Beds are super comfortable and showers are hot and relaxing! Awesome central location as close to 9/11 memorial, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island plus a short train ride to anywhere else. Will definitely stay again if we come back to NYC!
I booked a king bed, with river view, room, one week in advance, via Travelocity. When I arrived to check in, I was informed that my room would be two twin beds. Totally unacceptable. If the room wasn’t available at the time of booking, then common courtesy would be to contact the customer. Instead, nothing was done to accommodate. This ruined our Valentine weekend. Additionally, the front desk clerk could also use some improved hospitality. I will not be doing business again. Luckily, I was able to find an available room at another hotel, in the area, who had way better hospitality.
Comfortable, convenient and carefree. Our Marriott room was a sanctuary from the stress and fatigue of travel. Airbnb stays may be charming, but theres nothing like a hotel designed with plenty of space in the bathroom and shelf/desk areas to spread out your stuff. And plugs to recharge your devices. So many plugs!
Positive: Front desk and security staff had awesome customer service and professionalism! Negative: Both hotel rooms I book was dirty. Urine stains on shower curtain, bedding not clean, bathrooms wasn¿t properly cleaned and floors wasn¿t vacuumed. Hand prints on mirrors and windows in rooms. Glass doors when entering the hotel was filthy.
Loved every aspect of the hotel. The stay , the room , the ambience was perfect. Staff was very nice and courteous. However the breakfast service left a lot to be desired. 1. I was given vouchers for each day. In this modern day and age I would guess that the system would pick up these things automatically. I should not have to carry vouchers along everyday.2. Breakfast service needs to improve. The quality of food, preparedness of the order and the service was way below Marriott standards.
I liked my stays. The location was very good. The staff were nice and friendly. The front desk staff were well compliant to the mask regulations to both staff and customers, and follow Covid testing requests to customers. The housekeeping staff responded quick to our needs. The room is nice and clean with gorgeous view. Thisworks products are used in bathroom. I would choose the hotel again.
We selected the New York Marriott Downtown so we would be close to the activities we wanted to do in lower Manhattan. The hotel is a 6 minute walk to Battery Park and 3 minutes to the World Trade Towers. Beautiful hotel, beds were extremely comfy after full days of walking and touring!
Im a loyal Bonvoy member who utilizes the brand almost exclusively. The hotel was clean and staff were very attentive and nice. Attention to covid elevator protocols wasnt policed by the security in the lobby. Lack of carts to haul luggage makes the Covid requirement that guests handle luggage themselves difficult.
That’s the worst experience that I’ve ever had. First of all , there was nothing about 4 star hotel. They didn’t have a king room (the one we booked) available at the check in time. They offer to change it to double room, we agreed, but then when we saw, a minute after we came back to the front desk and asked them to keep the king room and cancel double . Person at the front desk said , it’s not possible to change it back . “Once you checked in, you gave up your room. We can only change it back tomorrow.” We also requested a technician to fix the AC sensor .so we requested a technician 4 times, no one showed up. Bath tub also was damaged, the old paint went off. We were suppose to wait for the hot water at least 20 minutes. Mattress was super uncomfortable, my back hurts still. Also to go up on elevator we were suppose to wait 10 min every time. Next day they didn’t change the room to the king one. No housekeeping was provided. I wish I knew it before I booked this hotel!
I was very disappointed regarding the service. No housekeeping was offered, no clean towels. Rooms are old. AC was broken and we called technician 4 times. No one showed up. When we asked the front desk to change the room they said that it’s not possible, because they are fully booked. We were supposed to wait for the elevator 10 min every time we wanted to go back to the room. Mattress super uncomfortable. I wish we could cancel it and another hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Rooms have been beautifully redesigned, are extremely clean and have used the limited space very efficiently. All staff we encountered were friendly and hospitable. The food at Bill’s was excellent. Fantastic location too. We will definitely be staying again in the future.
I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is clean, updated, all staff wore masks & social distancing practices were in place. The only downfall is the onsite restaurant / bar had an emergency issue that morning & although they tried, they werent able to open during my stay. I will definitely recommend this hotel.
My family stayed at another hotel in Manhattan and the size difference from the New York Marriott Downtown was shocking. The Marriott was much more roomier, comfortable, and near a great location. It is just walking distance from the 911 memorial and subway transportations. When returning to NY I will be staying again.
Stayed here for 3 days because I couldn’t get my work done at home, I live in Manhattan. The beds were so comfortable. I had the best sleep ever. The woman at the front desk upgraded us to a Hudson River/downtown Jersey City view on the 32nd floor. We greatly appreciated it. I have no complaints. Starbucks is in the same building on the first floor. I got breakfast from there everyday, convenient. I honestly have no complaints. The cleanliness was A1. I rarely ran into other guests but the ones I did kept their masks on and practiced distancing. Only one family on the elevator at a time with three elevators in use. I never had to wait long. I would definitely return.
Room was clean, service was very prompt and friendly. The view was gorgeous. Location good - within reasonable walking proximity to stroll Wall Street, Broadway and waterfront for views of Lady Liberty. The attached burger restaurant was open every day and had a decent selection including some decadent desserts. The attached Starbucks was closed due to COVID. The front desk gave us bottled water upon request, but the amenity corner where you can usu buy drinks/snacks and some toiletries was emptied/closed. It was challenging getting into the lobby with luggage as I had to hold open the swinging doors (not automatic and no bellman) and haul bags up about 5 stairs. There is no pullout for cars to stop so my Uber driver was blocking a traffic lane to unload my bags and the traffic zooming by felt hazardous. Overall I would stay here again and do recommend.
My husband and I travelled with another couple and had four kids between us- we loved our stay here and would book again. Our room was spacious and immaculate. Beds were comfortable, great view... fantastic staff. We loved the convenience of the two restaurants and Starbucks on site. Would certainly book again, great rate too!
My girlfriends and I arrived early in the morning after traveling the city all day. When we got to our room, we were unaware that it was only a king bed with no pull out bed for a third person. I had made a phone call using the Bonvoy app and had the front desk on the phone in seconds. They very quickly got us a new room (with no extra charge) and took care of everything we needed. The hotel was clean, inviting, and seemed very new. Excellent service. I definitely recommend downloading the app. Its easy to use and has everything you need at your fingertips.
Despite mentioning the hot water issue the staff only made excuses about it being a certain time of day, these excuses did not hold water! In a town known for great food, this hotel offered the equivalent of a few items purchased at a convenience store, horrible showing! It’s restaurant was highway robbery for a chicken sandwich.
This stay was the ultimate in convenience to downtown attractions and locations. A short walk to everything with a lot to see and do.The hotel was my best experience ever in accommodations. Bed was comfortable, space was large, everything was clean and abundant. The personnel are fantastic to work with and go out of their way to assist you.I am amazed at the friendliness and attitude of service which the staff have as well as their loyalty to Marriott.Bills Burger Bar is a great place to eat with a great menu and many versions of a burger and toppings. Be prepared for a very good meal and a truly exceptional treat.
The staff here are very warm and welcoming, despite being very busy. We got to check in early and check out late. The staff even watched our luggage after checking out since our flight didn’t leave for several hours. The rooms were clean and well stocked. Also with the rewards program it just made the stay even better. Will specifically be staying Marriott due to the wonderful experience we had at this location for the rest of our vacations.. very impressed.
Overall, I’m very happy with my stay at the Mariotte. Awesome room, great view, and very clean. The downside for my outing was just breakfast at Bill’s steakhouse in the hotel. $30/ the person I paid for 4 people. I should get more quality and variety than just an American breakfast ( two slice of toast two eggs over easy and home fried and if I need bacon and ham the waiter said I have to paid more) and that is it for $30per person!!!! My kids got the order of pancake but its came in a big plate they were 3 big giant 8inch pancakes, and it not even that good. I dont care for quantity but they should tastes good and looks present to eat. Service was very slow even though its not a busy morning. Wait to be served too long, wait to check bill was too long.
The Hotel was accommodating, especially with a small glitch with booking. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. The location is great, right next to the 9/11 memorial and museum. It is a short distance to Wall Street and Battery Park and an a leisurely walk to SoHo and the Village (on a good day). Great areas to walk along the Hudson, rent a bike and ride along the bike path and shop. Overall a great location and hotel.
From the moment we pulled up, I had a smile on my face. Im not easily pleased and am quit observant when it comes to cleanliness. The staff behind the front desk at 11 pm were very friendly and helpful. They got us in our room on the 17th floor quickly and gave us directions to a very good pizza place. The elevators were clean and our hallway to our room was nice and clean. Our room was well organized and spacious for our family of 4. The bathroom, which I checked first, was clean and smelled good. The toilet was a new, water saver model which was great and the shower and sink were very clean. The beds were comfortable and the views from our large windows was beautiful. The view of the Hudson River was a plus. The staff behind the front desk was always helpful and polite as well as, the doormen. The streets around the hotel were not overly crowded or dirty, which was a plus too. My husband and I love to take morning walks, so this area was very nice. We will stay here again.
Our stay at this Marriott was perfect for our sightseeing weekend. Loved the renovated room (bed was so comfy!) and the location was great. We walked to 9-11 museum and Battery Park. Took advantage of the park and stay package. Enjoyed lunch and drinks at Bills Burger bar. Staff was very helpful and location was easy to catch a cab. Highly recommend!
We had a front desk agent take some beautiful photos of my boyfriend and I. She was really sweet her name was Emily I believe! Second time at this hotel and it’s by far our favorite. We had a view of the Hudson on a high floor, beautiful!! Only down side was the building didn’t have any ice.
The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. As gold members we were given an upgrade to the Presidential suite. We were taking our Grandchildren, age 11 twins, to NYC for the first time so getting this unexpected upgrade made the trip even more special. They had never stayed in a hotel before. Our grandson who has Aspergers syndrome literally jumped up and down he was so excited. They twins were given small gifts at check in. The room had spectacular views. The furnishing were in need of updating, but honestly, we were very comfortable. The concierge lounge was beyond our expectations, too. The manager and the other concierge went out of their way to see we felt at home. We all enjoyed to food and felt it was well prepared and tasty. It was a magical weekend because the Marriott staff made it so. We will never forget this stay and recommend this hotel without reservation.
The upgraded room was great. It was renovated with great views of the Hudson River and Freedom Tower. It was spacious and had a pull out sofa bed. We had lunch and breakfast at Bills Burger bar and it was great.Wish they kept the lounge open on weekends like SPG does. Thanks to Drew, the manager and Marie and her co-workers at the front desk, they are very helpful and willing to assist. I am at Life time platinum member merged over from SPG and this was my first stay at the Marriott Downtown and it was a great stay.thanks
Great service, clean rooms, gorgeous views.Had a lovely weekend stay: wonderful service, early check-in, complimentary upgrade to a room with a beautiful view. Lobby is under construction, but not much of an issue. Very convenient to most major subway lines, 9/11 Memorial and Freedom Tower, Trinity Church, South Street Seaport, etc. Wished we could have stayed longer. Special shout out to Manny, Anthony, and housekeeping, who were among those who went above and beyond.
Despite the renovation, and the hotel was super busy the Lady at the reception found a way to offer me a very quiet room already renovated. The new room are fantastic with very comfortable bed ( the best!) and a nice bathroom. The only point to be careful is the restaurant, difficult to get healthy and green food. This is not a problem there are ton of place around. If you don’t know this hotel try it ! He is perfectly located you can access in 2 minutes the Hudson walk for your running: )

This location did not meet any of the top tier Marriott Standards and or Covid protocols. The room was obviously not cleaned and sanitized properly as several candy items were found in the room, mgmt was notified and still not properly addressed. Mgmt states they will address any issues and reply/call you back and make excuses as to why it did not occur. Observed several members of staff walk by thrown food on the first/entry floor and did not even make an attempt to clean. Hours later, food was still thrown on the carpet and floor, yet several staff members standing by concierge location. During these Covid times, I would really reconsider staying at this Marriott Property or at least until mgmt/staff gets on board with the elite Marriott Standards. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

2022-05-15Kind of a mixed review of our stay here. Location was perfect for our purposes. If you are wanting to be near the financial district or the World trade center or 911 museum, this hotel is perfect for location. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. One very weird thing in our room was that the toilet paper in the bathroom was just placed on the sink counter. No holder. Not that a guest had taken or broken the holder, just missing. Also, the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast was very poorly staffed and it seemed to be the cause of poor service. The breakfast buffet was not well supplied which caused many there to be unhappy. Since we were only there one night, it reflected poorly on the reputation of Marriott. At the prices of a luxury hotel in NYC, the experience was less than expected.

2022-04-15Not a bad place to stay at all. I decided to write a review because of the service of a from desk employee names Beverly, absolutely the best, can’t thank her enough for helping me out.Only gave 4 stars because my fan was pretty loud but after the first night it acted like white noise and I didn’t hate it.Thanks again Beverly you are the best!

2021-12-14Stayed here for 4 days while working at a conference being held at the hotel. The Christmas tree in the lobby was beautiful and helped set the holiday feelings of New York. The staff were are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The food that was catered by the hotel for the conference lunches was fantastic. If day the lunches were better than the retardants we went to in the evening.

2022-06-11A great hotel for NYC. My stay was pleas t and everything in my room was clean and well kept. There seemed to be a shortage of towels as each day I had to get towels that were not put in the room. The staff was very friendly and the rest of the hotel was very neat and clean. The hotel is located very close many points of interest. I will look forward to staying here again .

2022-05-07Nice rooms and great staff! We was overcharged $400, but had it cleared up quickly. Only gave it four stars because I think the pillow gave me a sty. Would recommend bringing pillow cases

2022-04-20Clean and modern rooms. The bed was firm but comfortable. Service was great and the view was wonderful if your room is facing west. Easy walk to the World Trade Center and shopping. Morton Steak House is right across the street.

2022-05-14Attended a conference. The service was wonderful. The food for the two day event was fresh, prepared and served well. Supporting staff for the event were professional and friendly. Conference space between the two floors was great. The only thing missing was a charging station.

2022-06-14This review is a little difficult. The location was great and they had nice employees but the whole stay had so many issues. First open booking in the pic and It showed a King with a sofa bed. When I’m got there there was no Sofa bed and they said it Would cost more. They also said they didn’t have a roll away bed either. I ended up just staying in the room because it was a very big king size so it worked. They also have an additional fee It was like $25 a day but it did give you credit towards their in-house restaurant and dry cleaners etc. If you use their services they just deduct at midnight. We had left for dinner and when we came back the elevators were not working. A guy then came and told us we have to take the back elevator which he had to escort us. It was what I believe the staff uses. It took us up to the back room where the cleaning stuff was and all the extra bedding. As we were walking through I saw roll away beds only a couple and was wondering why they lied to me. The next day we went sight seeing when we came back that night the elevators were down and tons of people in the hall. They wouldn’t let anyone go to the rooms and when we asked why the lady at the front desk said she’d let us know soon. We waited 20 min before the fire man showed up and then we found out it was a false fire alarm. When the elevator was available we finally got to our rooms. We also ordered from the restaurant and said we’d pick up and asked when it would be ready they said 30 min. All of a sudden we get a knock at our door and it’s someone from the restaurant asking if we were going to get our food it’s ready. Why didn’t they just bring it with them ? Also we ordered loaded nachos and they were not worth buying save your money. Other then that the location is great for the world trade area. Close to 9/11, subways, ferry’s etc. I think if all of that didn’t happen and the staff just seemed a little more happy about working there then 5 stars for sure.

2021-12-09Stayed for one night recently for business and they cheerfully allowed me to check in early. One of the nicest check in experiences I have had recently with the smiling gentleman at the front desk. The bed was magnificent and the bathroom well appointed. The room was on the darker side and smallish but this is Manhattan.I was relying on the ATM in the lobby to provide me some cash to tip appropriately but it was out of order. I apologized profusely to the Valet for the small tip and he was smiling and gracious. He said that the ATM is down frequently and it hurts them. Some of the nicest people I have encountered on my travels.

2022-05-01We stayed here during the Bike New York tour which the hotel room was very comfortable but ended up waiting 40 minutes for our valet to bring us our car. We had to approach Omar to ask about our car and come to find out the receptionist did not call in for the car even after being made aware the car had not been called for due to no number being provided earlier. Very disappointing service especially because we came here out of state delaying our travels home. Definitely going to reconsider staying here or using the valet service because this was not $65 service.
