I had 13 back surgeries. 8 auto immune diseases which led to multiple falls causing severe damage to both my knees. I also was struggling with RA which caused extreme pain in many joints. I was seeing a pain management physician who could not handle my pain with anything except medication. After many years she had given up. After my last surgery in November 2019 she had no more to offer me except medication. That alone was not helping so my Surgeon referred me to this practice, and particularly Doctor Luis Fandos.He is the first MD in years who continues to treat me with new treatments and different treatments to try to relieve as much pain as possible. I always have a great experience with my Doctor he’s knowledgeable friendly and very helpful to my condition. I’ve recovered from numerous injuries and even though I will always be in pain Dr Fandos is quick to treat it and understands my individual needs. Although he does forget to send my meds to the pharmacy a lot because he is so busy. Thank you
Dr was very knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. Not rushed at all. Very thorough. Staff was friendly and helpful from minute I walked in. Absolutely will recommend this office to anyone I know who needs spinal care.
Dr Fandos & his staff are very professional & Careing his PA Adera is very. careing & cares about her patients but it sometimes takes for ever to get through to office I live about 35 minutes away from BayShore office I drove there was still on hold when I walked. in

I have been going to this practice for OVER 2 years.They were referred to me while in the hospital for pain management.I currently see Dr. Stephanie Aguirre & she always is pleasant, professional, remembers my personal issues, I exchange. Even the Assistants that provide checking in & out.From escorting you into an exam room. The care & treatment I receive there is outstanding.Honestly, Im thankful I found these doctors that help keep me enjoying a better quality of life!
Was told about their office from a friends recommendation. Got an appointment fairly quickly. Arrived on time Office was fairly busy. Was expecting a long wait but was called into the office pretty quickly. Spoke to intake person who took my info as she was doing it Dr. Fandos stopped in and introduced himself . Talked to me about my problem looked at the MRI that was performed and did an examination. Gave me my options and offered a plan of treatment. Was very impressed as it wasnt a 1-2-3 and out the door process. Dr. Fandos took the time to explain all. Feel that I made the right decision and looking forward to getting better. Highly recommend.
The best practice in pain management, staff are caring and friendly. In office visits are safe. I have been at this practice for almost 7 yrs, when I move down south I wish I could take Dr Fandos and all his staff with me.

After having back issues for years l finally found a doctor that really wants to help me. The last doctor I saw for several years gave me trigger shots every month. Dr. Kohane is trying the X-ray epidoral and so far so good it has been 2 months and l feel...better, better than l felt in years. I dont know how long until I need another one, but so far so good. Finding a doctor who listens to me, goes to the insurance company for peer to peer consults to get my MRI s approved quickly, l feel my life has improved enormously since becoming a patient of Dr Kohane.
I absolutely love this place the staff are amazing, friendly, and helpful. The office is very clean and the surgical rooms are amazing. I’ve seen Dr. Kohane who was incredible in administering injections what a caring, compassionate, and steady handed. I’m more than happy with coming here for my pain needs. Great place to go if your in need of help with injuries and pain management. Theyre all come highly recommended. The office staff are very professional. I have been a patient at New York Spine and Pain for over 2 years and have always been treated with kindness and respect and feel the staff truly have your best interest at heart. Dr. Fandos , Stephanie, and their team go above and beyond for me to customize treatment plans and listen to my concerns. And when I was hospitalized for spinal menengitis, which had no correlation with my treatments at NY Spine and Pain, Dr. Fandos still came to visit me in the hospital to see if I was ok!!! He didnt have to do that but chose to go out of his way. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who wants a highly skilled and knowledgeable Dr and staff helping to relieve your pain!!
I have been a patient of Dr Fandos for 10 years. He is truly a miracle worker. I have CRPS which is very painful but Dr Fandos will stop at nothing to try to control the pain. I have had multiple procedures with very good success. The entire staff at the Bay Shore office is wistful from making an appointment to checking out. This office understands patients who are in pain and will do the best they can to accommodate all patients. I will continue with this office for as long as necessary. For me, there is no other pain management group or doctor that I will ever need to see. Bay Shore and Dr Fandos are the best
Dr Kohane & Tara Boyle are very dedicated to making sure they offer every opportunity for you to receive treatments that Helps you with your pain .I’ve been a patient almost 10yrs now & I’ve had several Dr’s at this facility. I’ve never been disappointed & I feel completely safe with anything they do or offer me . Tara , is the sweetest & NEVER makes me feel rushed .

Dr. Fandos and the staff are incredible. Wait time usually minimal and front staff very courteous. Been using almost two years between husband and myself. The PA we adore her. If first time patient just get papers and fill out before you go. Takes half hour off wait.
Dr kohane and Tara have always treated me with respect, they take time answering all of my questions, go over everything and come up with a plan to manage my pain. There is a very minimal wait time in the office which is great. I’ve been a patient for 3 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Dr Fandos is awesome. Knows what will relieve your pain and takes the time to explain everything. Listens to any suggestions you have for your care or procedures and is gentle. Wait is usually not very long.

The attending Physician was thorough and to the point, he ordered tests to find the best prognosis for my pain and discomfort! So far so Good!!!
Dr. Kohane is fantastic! His staff however Im not happy with. I made an appointment. Specifically requested Dr. Kohane NOT THE PA. Well... I left work early to see the DR to go over MRI and who do I get? The PA! Dr. Isnt in for another 2 hrs. Why did they lie to me and say I had an appointment with him? I dont want to discuss my body with a stranger who will have to ask him what I need. I wanted to avoid another appointment. Thanks a lot !!! Im calling my insurance co. I better not be charged for seeing the DR.
Best Place Ever. They Are Very Professional n they care. Dr Fandos is the Best n his PA Stephanie is too. They take their time to Listen to you. They have helped me out a real lot in healing me n getting me better.
Terrible front desk assistance. The treatment by Dr. Kuhane and the P.A. Tara are excellent, but it is impossible to speak to anyone in the front office to change, make or cancel an appointment. Additionally, they use a call center based in Maryland. You call that center and then the call center will put you through to the office after verifying your information only to be placed on hold by someone at the front desk. At times, I have been on hold from 10 minutes to 36 minutes. Often so long that I could play Moonlight Sonata on the piano by heart. (This is their 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃 music). It’s a travesty that nobody at the front desk has time to answer a phone call. Do not expect anyone at the front desk to care. TERRIBLE system!
Many years a patient here everyone has been great. Highly recommend for pain mgmt, mva issues etc. Dr Fandos is wonderful & Stephanie as well. They have bunch locations.
I had a bad back injury in 2009, i had surgery, fusion of lumbar spine, though the discs above started to deteriorate after. I went to see Dr. Fandos, at the tine, i was on a extended release morphine, and percocet. I have been dr. Fandos patient ever since. He did many procedures on me, which enabled me to taper off morphine all together. Ive also had a spinal cord stim implanted that works amazing, esp for sciatica pain down the legs. I have been able to stay on low doses of pain medication due to these procedures such as epidurals, facet injections and radiofrequency. I have been seeing Stephanie Aguirre monthly, or Idira(cnt spell her name) Dr. Fandos is an expert with these procedures, they always work for me. 5 stars!! All around best out there!
Dr Fandos is unsurpassed in his field. His skills and knowledge with the use of current pain management techniques make him one of the best (if not THE BEST) His kind and caring manner make him different than most. His office staff has a hard time keeping up with all the people who want his services.
I came here because I have been dealing with back pain from a herniated disc, I wanted to meet with a specialist to explore my options with surgery, I signed in and told the Spanish woman with black short hair that I was a new patient she just brushed me off like I wasn’t important. I’m guessing it’s because I’m a younger patient. But i sat in the waiting room for about 15 minutes waiting for her to call me up to get paperwork or maybe even take my insurance cards and she never did. There was a gentleman who walked in who came later then me he told her the same thing and he got paperwork right away and she scanned his insurance cards. Finally after waiting another 10 minutes I left. I will never refer anyone I know to this establishment.
I am a current patient and an so horribly disappointed with the staff, Dr. Fandos whom I only met once for the initial appointment was amazing but the staff makes me very upset. When I call the front desk they are rude. Not sure if it because they are hardened by the job but still. I ask for the PA to call me back. I have called 5 times and no one calls me back. Then when I actually get someone on the phone they just tell me to come in. If I didn’t have a few procedures set up, I would go elsewhere. 😢
I have been seeing Dr Fandos and his staff for nearly 20 years, and they have saved me from neck/back surgery by offering alternative options. This is NOT a pill factory! It is a caring pain management group that will help you every step of the way. The girls in the office will go the extra mile as far as scheduling and checking on pre-approvals etc...You will not be just another number to Dr Fandos and this team.
Love my doctor, sometimes getting a refill on meds can be quite difficult, and sometimes waiting for my appointment can be a bit long. But my doctor is important. Always trying to help me as I have alot of pain issues.
Dr Kohane & Tara Boyle make a great team. I have no doubt that eventually, they will figure out my pain issues & resolve them.

The paperwork makes it seem like they are at the cutting edge of back pain understanding and treatment. I come in explaining symptoms such as unrelenting thoracic spine pain, bones in the extremities that feel like solid ice, headaches almost every single day, random aching pain in places like shoulders-joints-heels-knees-hands, how sometimes its impossible for me to urinate upright. I also told them all the treatments I went through. Chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture. In the end, you want to know what they suggested? Its tight muscles causing all my pain. Yeah. *!&$ing right. Like I havent taken muscle relaxers. No, its not my god damned muscles. If I felt like they listened to even a single word I said, they would have understood that much. Im only 23 and I have all this pain that they cant help in the slightest.So my point is unless you have a common ailment such as spinal stenosis or something that can appear on an MRI, these doctors will be of no help to you. They certainly werent of any to me. The only positive thing I can say is that the office was clean and most of the staff were pleasant.
The place is extremely clean and the staff is friendly. So far for my first day they are quick and thorough in moving the patients in and out. But like them so far.
There is a white lady that is in the front reception area that has a very bad attitude, you ask questions and she answers with a nasty attitude !! the doctors are very nice and help you, just that one receptionist that makes a bad impression on the office.
I recived trigger point injections reducing my pain to a manageable level. I always have a positive experience at this office. Thank you Stephanie 😃.

If you need pain management this is the place to go. There is never a long wait time, the staff is always very accommodating, they always have convenient follow up appointments and your privacy is always respected.
All the employees were very nice . Dr Kohane was extremely nice and thoroughly discussed the epidurals with me .
Professional from reception to check out. Dr. Fandos was thorough and explained everything. The follow up team for scheduling and coordinating also A+.

When calling in placed on hold for half our, then phone hung up. Called again, placed on hold again for over 30 minutes, no answer, then hung up again. Horrible service without even being seen.

Rude Front Staff. The ladies who serve in front are rude ... they dont even look at you, you can see the Nopal on their foreheads and they dont speak Spanish, they charge you $ 50 every time, they gave me 2 injections that didnt work for me, they charged the insurance $ 1416 and me 174.83. For something that did NOT work!How I miss Colombian doctors. For that $ 1416, they give me the New Bones. And the service excellent!They even sent me to the collection for that 174.And Im still with himpain.

2022-01-11The absolute worst care and service I have witnessed. If you’re in pain, and looking for a doctor to care about your health, and return a phone call, this place isn’t for you. The worst front desk people that have little empathy for anyone’s condition. This is a big company- not a doctor’s office. Stay far away. You get a doctor that really only cares about pushing a new drug or new procedure. Don’t be fooled by the website. I wish our experience was like their advertisements. Instead we were given very impersonal care and put on medication that sucked the life out of me.run run run far away

2021-11-19This office is one of my worse experiences in medical dealings. The waits are forever. Ive stood in the office watching as the phones ring off the hook, so its no wonder I cant ever get anyone on the phone. Ive been waiting since the start of the month for pain management for these bulging discs and arthritis in my neck. Ive called my insurance and was told theres not even a request for an authorization for my needed procedure. Then when I call the office to address it, WHEN someone actually gets on the phone, they are so nonchalant- Oh yeah because we already have the authorization, but we dont call patients to tell them I hate this office and would never recommend it to ANYONE!!! IF I WASNT IN SO MUCH PAIN AND ALREADY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MULTIPLE APPOINTMENTS NEEDED TO GET HELP I WOULDVE BEEN LOOKED FOR HELP ELSE WHERE THIS IS HORRIBLE STAFF AND THEY DONT CARE

2021-11-17Absolutely horrible place! The staff is terrible and just know that if you call you are getting a call center in India. The website says they can get you an appt in 24 hrs, yes that is true for the first visit. After that good luck. When I was able to be seen I really did like the dr a lot but I need procedures and their staff and lack of appointments is Absolutely horrible!!

2021-06-09Like I said Tara Boyle One of the best nurse practitioners very competent very intelligent in her field her bedside manners are impeccable and she definitely takes the time to listen to you. Definitely an asset to Pain management.Dr. Kohane, just love this guy he makes it fun to actually be there his bedside manners on beautiful he also A very good doctor he will definitely listen to you as well and you don’t find that really anywhere anymore he knows his medicine he knows the anatomy of the body he too is very intelligent. The girls at the front desk very professional I definitely wanna give a shout out to this girl Jessica she knows her job also an asset all the other girls as well. The girls back in the OR they make you feel so very comfortable this one girl Jackie she can answer your questions everyone of my questions she’s answered and they’re very professional from start to finish. I will highly recommend this establishment and the medical people in that field over there. Thank you to the group.

2021-03-02This place is wonderful, a real life saver when you’re in pain. Dr. Fandos is the best there is and his PA Stephanie is just as wonderful. They listen to you, understand your pain and your needs, explain everything to you and are very kind, caring and knowledgeable of what treatment you need. The rest of the staff is also wonderful, kind and caring, making you feel comfortable and acknowledging your pain and understanding what you are going through. I am so glad that I was referred to them as they have really helped me. When I first went there I was in so much excruciating pain and they were the only ones who really understood and cared what I was going through and they were really able to help me. They were also able to give me an appointment to come in almost immediately. Checking in and waiting time is easy and kept to a minimal wait. The place is always immaculately clean and you never have to worry about anything I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is in pain. It is the best place ever. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

2021-04-13The doctors at Bayshore are great. However, the staff, especially the appointment makers lack people skills and courtesy, especially on the phone. They hang up on you before you get a chance to ask a question or say thank you. Extremely rude. And, good luck trying to get a reply to your numerous voice mail messages.Physical health issues are stressful enough but dealing with rude people in a doctor’s office makes it even more stressful...But I do like my doctor and that’s more important.

2020-10-09I have been coming here 11 years. Dr. Kohane and Tara are an amazing team. I’ve been suffering with chronic pain and having major surgery. Thank God, I have such caring dedicated doctors. Kim and Ebony are also part of a great team. No matter how busy I still get A plus care. Thank you!
