Great atmosphere located at the far far end of the pier! You can’t see it from the street. Only drawback is, Half the out side seating happens to be where the boats get fuel. And on a hot day or rather a sunny hot day the umbrellas do not shed you from the sun so you cook! But other Than That it’s fabulous!
Way over priced for dinner. Ordered the stuffed shrimp it was dry and tasted like cheese. The bathrooms are extremely dirty. The wait staff are totally unorganized. The restaurant forgot that they are bar serving food. Stick to the burgers and wings and enjoy the very scenic water view.
I went there by my friends recommendation, we waited 40min and sin it was almost like an hour, when I eent to check how long was til we could seat, they told me another 45min, and I think the girl saw my face and set something up inmediatly, we waited like 10min til we got a server, then 30min waited for our food, it was busy but... still saw that other people who came after got their food first, when we got our food it was cold...very disappointed, the burguer was blend and cold, my husbands chicken not really good.....I guess the only good thing was the dessert which came out in 5min. Our server barely asked us how was our food... I doubt I would ever come back ...very overpriced too for what we got.
First time ever visting on a Google search and I was extremely impressed with the servings, service and the freshness of the food. When youre given prawns for shrimp cocktail and it tastes like it was just catched from the ocean, you know the rest of the meal is going to be top notch. Then to have the owner, Nicky come to your table to take your plate and introduce himself its all worth it. Much love to him and our Server, Bridget for their wonderful service and hospitality. This Woman from Yonkers NY will be coming back again with my family. Definitely worth the drive. Thanks so much. 1 ❤
Food are bland. We ordered seafood combo, fish tacos, clam chowder and all have no flavor. We needed to bring it all home and season it ourselves, just to not waste money. Got some wings and its OK. Good drinks but the view is perfect. Will definitely come back for the view not for food.
Cold Budweiser and fine views makes this one of my favorite places to sit at the bar and have lunch while watching sports. It is like Aruba without white sands, palm trees, tropical breezes, and megayachts. Nice boats here though on the inlet. The food is fine and the seating on the lower deck, at night, along the inlet-side is as tight as a size 7 dress on an NFL linebacker. It is fun if you dont mind the intimacy. Hey, I like this place. Try the upper deck also and the live bands Friday and Saturday nights 5 to 10pm, 4 to 7 on Sundays, from Memorial to Labor Day weekends. Awesome drinks by the way. Dont fall in the inlet by liking them too much.
We came to Nickys by chance we were meant to go to another restaurant but they were closed and Im glad we ended up where we did, safety precautions are being taken, the staff is amazing and the food is really good as well as the drinks. I had the pineapple jalapeño margarita and it was the best thing I have tasted so far. Would recommend.
If I had a white table cloth & a table that didnt wobble and after asking the waiter delivered a toasted ends stale hoggie/hero loaf. This part was a 1 star, the over priced dinner on the bay was very basic meals for 38.00 & 39.00 with my water view. Please notice the bill has NO drinks for this price.Save your money & go to Sundays On the Bay in Hampton Bays. Amazing Meal with white table cloths & much much more with an awesome view of a Marina.
Had a really good time recently. This is the best iteration of Nickys it been in many years. The atmosphere has always been fun and of course the nautical views always nice. Yet, the food never really impressed me until this visit. I have heard this from others as well. Im not sure what changed but it has been for the better. I used to avoid having get togethers and eating here feeling it was over rated. This is no longer the case and Im looking forward to returning. The fried clams dish was ridiculous. Huge fresh friend clams seasoned and cooked beautifully with plenty to share. Fresh clams tasted like they were served directly from the water. Prices were more than fair and even a value. Service was attentive and well executed without being intrusive. Really happy we went and will look forward to coming back. Pro tip, make sure you feed the meter. Parking is ample and dont risk the ticket for 2 bucks.
Way too pricey.I ordered crab cakes, full dozen fresh oysters, and fish and chips. Only drank water. Total was 72.Oysters were small. Crab cakes were ATROCIOUS. Fish and chips saved the day since they gave me 3 pieces, though 2 were small tail pieces.Beautiful scenery though.
I just left this location after spending a few hundred dollars. The female bartender was so rude after hearing me say to my friends lets have one more drink. She made it very clear that we could not with a very bad attitude. I can respect that it was last call but the fact that she had such a bad attitude after spending so much money is just a disgrace. We left at 1055pm and will go another location / reaturaunt that respects their customers. SHAME ON HER FOR BEING SO NEGATIVE. YOU SHOUL LEARN .....CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALWAYS IMPORTANT!!!! We will not return to this resturaunt unless some type of apology is given.
Two stars only because of the service and the view. Service was excellent…food lacked any flavor. Blackened swordfish, broiled flounder, and clam chowder were all tasteless. The chefs need to master some sauces that can punch up the plates. The only redeeming dish was the side order of spinach. I really wanted to love this bayside local. One and done with this beautiful waterfront restaurant. The most expensive and worst restaurant meal I’ve had in a long time.
I really enjoyed nickys. Sat at the bar by myself for dinner on a business trip. Bartender was very helpful. The room slides open on the patio to allow more air into the restaurant which was a cool effect. I had the crab cakes and ahi tuna tacos. Both were very flavorful. Also had a few local beers. Ok beer selection, mostly local and domestics.
Friday evening, nice views. We order 3 salads, 2 with shrimp. The other with chicken. For $12 we got 3 shrimp on top and they had no real taste and a terribly rubber consistency.I understand it is all about the location and the view but we were truly disappointed. I would go for drinks and view and eat at the lake house or whalers..
It was very Bueatiful to eat great seafood, over looking years ocean! The food was excellent. The clams and mussels were very fresh. The service was very good. I recommend you put on your summer places to visit. My family and friends pulled up to the dock every one was helpful and mad our day special . Thank you.
Food is alright but service could be better. 4 stars for food -3 stars for service. We asked to sit outside before we sat down and server gave us a very funny look😶😒. Later the server told us we need to tell them to bring ice creams for kids included in kids meal. We asked to pack it so our kid could have it at the beach and she said we don’t have spoons. But they didn’t forget their 18% tips😂😂.
Almost every summer I go here and watch the boats go by and the beautiful sunset. During summer nights they have live bands on the deck upstairs, it’s a really nice ambiance. The only thing I don’t like about this place is the food. I have not tried everything on the menu but every time I order something it’s terrible. Me and some friends went there last summer of 2020 for lunch and ordered calamari to start and let me tell you the calamari had no flavor, no seasoning. We told the waiter and she brought us a different one. There was no difference. We then Ordered our meal, my friend had the burger which was undercooked and my other friend had the grilled cheese with bacon. The sandwich had so much grease then it should she could not eat it. I felt bad because I really wanted them to have a nice experience being it was their first time. We were disappointed with the food. I hope to go back for the view but I’m not interested in the food unless they bring in a new chef.
My wife and I wanted a brunch for the two of us. This was my wife’s 1st Sunday off in 9 months and just wanted a nice brunch on the water. So we arrived at 11:00 AM and there was a chalkboard sign stating: DINNER MENU ALL DAY.We figured brunch would still be served and the dinner menu was available all day. Low and behold the menu was dinner only. No brunch , even after seeing Brunch on the web site.Very disappointing and the waiter advised they were not able to make Brunch items.Cross This place off our list.
Place is very nice and of course next to the water. Service was not even average. Food was edible at best. Drinks were horrendous. We did tell the waiter he did not apologize or offer to change anything. His bland and careless demeanor was suprising to me at it was my first time there expected more out of this restaurant. In conclusion this restaurant anywhere else it would be out of business. Prime location is the only thing this place has to offer.
My fiance and I had an awesome experience here. First if all the view and ambiance are spectacular. You get views of the pier and the ocean with a great breeze. Second the food was delicious. My girl had the crab cakes and the seared fish over salad (I dont remember the type of fish). I had the the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and slaw. Amazing. The cocktails were also very good. Last but not least the staff there are very, very nice. Cudos to our server Lisa whos recommendations were on point! She checked up on us just the right amount of times and was professional yet easy going without the PC and able to joke around. My only qualm was the price of the dish of seared fish over salad. It was $37! A bit high for such a small fish BUT my fiance loved it so I guess its worth it lol. I highly recommend checking this place out. P. S.: Masks are optional there!
Great view and waterside experience...the menu was extensive, everyone enjoyed their food, waitstaff was very attentive...drinks were delicious. Huge parking lot, theyve tented the outdoor area making it very comfortable even on hot sunny days...and usable on rainy days.
Weve seen this restaurant for years, when we used to visit the water, but we never tried it. One day I saw a friends post on Facebook and the food looked amazing, so we decided to go. The staff was very friendly and our attendee was very attentive. She even suggested a drink that matched my hair and it taste great too! The food was great and boy was it a lot. We would definitely go back. Thank you for a first, great experience!😊
I went there a few days ago to have dinner and drinks with my friends. They threatened to kick me out because my friends were not there. My server acutely told me this was unacceptable and he would talk to his manager. They let me stay and blamed it on the hostess. My friends and I were all working that day at my hospital. We are all nurses. I’m sorry, but most of the time we have to work late, even though we are not paid for it. Remember when we were hero’s?? That died off real quick. I gave the server a 50$ tip along with the tip my friends left. This is how nurses are treated.
As if sitting bayside werent beautiful enough, the ambience and uniquely loving service at Nickys On the Bay will tug at your heartstrings! After being welcomed, greeted and seated by the docks, John -- our friendly server -- was delighted to share his experiences as a native to Long Island. There was an air of confidence and ease in his tone which propelled us into our first-rate meal: steamed mussels swimming in flavorful marinara with fresh, crispy bread; aromatic and savory tuna steak and the best tuna salad I have ever tasted... TOTAL bliss and romance in every sense of the word! Do yourself a fLavor and pay a visit to this gem situated within New Yorks Bay Shore Marina!
I don’t get how someone can give under 5 stars. The staff goes above and beyond for me every time I’m there. Holly was amazing as well as the rest of the staff. Great music, everyone is wearing masks, it’s covid friendly and always clean. The food is always fresh & delicious. I could live at nickys . 10/10 recommend coming here if you’re debating!
Best restaurant on the water with a great view. Food is delicious. The staff was great and so helpful. They follow all covid-19 restrictions. All tables are 6 feet of distance and everything is sanitized. Coming in, the hostess help you find a perfect table, even when the restaurant is packed. 10/10 recommend.
So went for dinner tonight. The view was awesome, right on the bay. My problem was when I walked in next to every table there was a plastic buss tray with dirty dishes. It was a real turn off. Looking at dirty dishes, flies on left over food. Not a pleasant experience. We have been out to dinner quite a bit post covid and Ive never seen anything like that I wont be back. I will say the food was good staff was friendly but the dirty dishes everywhere was gross. The price of a martini in a 1/2 sized glass, $17 is a bit much. All I can say is that I dont mind paying premium price for the view and the food but I wouldnt expect to have to clear my table into a bucket at my feet for me to see while Im at my table.
Great place to eat! Loved the oysters and seared tuna steak. The restaurant itself is airy and just a pleasure - family friendly, kid friendly. Our server Jessica was amazing and even ran out after me when I forgot some of my little ones belongings. Definitely a gem that well be visiting again!
The ambiance of eating by the water is wonderful. The service was very good, service with a smile. The Lamb Shank and Filet mignon were delicious. The Fried Mozzarella was good as well. The Seafood Bisque look like and tasted like Pepto Bismol, ugh. The drink prices are at NY City price levels, way too high. All and all enjoyed our dining experience.
Often when a restaurant is in a great location the food is just okay. That is not the case with Nickys on the Bay. The food is as delicious as the views are beautiful. I was really surprised at how good the food was. Crab cake appetizer was wonderful with a tangy sauce on the side and good portion of crab meat to satisfy any craving. I had the swordfish special with potatoes and a kale & roasted tomato salad that was absolutely delicious. I dont normally like kale but this was sauteed in a matter that made it an absolute pleasure to eat. Really, really surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The swordfish itself was to die for. Lightly crusted and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend eating here if you can and enjoy the coconut margarita, youll thank yourself for the indulgence.
Clearly they were understaffed but if its a restaurant thats meant for summer business they should be staffed accordingly. Our waitress wasnt attentive to our table at all. They didnt put one of our appetizers in and also put the incorrect dinner. When it was explained that we didnt want the original dinner anymore because of the long wait (we also didnt eat the dinner brought to us by mistake) rather than take it off the bill they adjusted the price until we complained. There were also a few new ways of dining there due to covid and thats totally fine but there was nothing explained to us about how we were supposed to do it. Just more communication and better service wouldve been better for a first time to this restaurant. It wasnt a good experience for us but maybe youll have a better time than we did.
I went here with 4 people. We had a seafood pink bisque, which tasted passable but it was a bright pink color & the texture was odd. Shrimp scampi was not garlicky as stated on the menu & it was swimming in a thick white sauce. Ive had both of these dishes many times at other places & Ive never seen it look like theirs. We all rushed home for the bathroom, where the food we had made a quick escape. The service was good.
Nickys on the Bay is an amazing place. Beautiful waterfront views. We came here to celebrate birthday with 7 couples and Kevin, the Manager took such excellent care of us so we could have an awesome time. He made special dishes tonsuot our guests requirements.. Jenna was simply superb in her service. I would highly recommend this waterfront place and we we shall be back again.
I was really looking forward to a great meal. Ordered unsweetened tea - they ran out!! Ordered shrimp scampi. Says its garlicky- I was excited. Very little to no garlic. Expensive and disappointing. I dont care what I pay for dinner as long as its goodOur server was GREAT did the exact amount of check backs perfectly attentive
I have never had such a Horrible experience dining out as horrible as I did at this place. Came out for a couples birthday dinner and this place gets an overall Terrible Review from me. The food was extremely over priced, I ordered a greek salad $18 with shrimp for an additional charge $12, when I received the salad I noticed 3 small shrimp on my salad, I asked to speak to the manager and when he walked over to my table I questioned the additional price for the quantity of shrimp received and he apologized for the size of the shrimp, agreed that they were smaller than usual and offered 1 extra shrimp. I asked if 2 extra would be ok and he said, No, I cant do 2 extra, so I told him that I would not keep the shrimp and placed the 3 I received on a small platter, the manager then apologetically took the shrimp and walked away. I began eating my salad and 3min later the manager walked back to me with the 3 shrimp on the platter and again apologetically said, just keep the shrimp and I will make 2 more and have them sent right over, which he did about 7min later. I continued with my salad, but the hospitality was terrible and as I stated in the beginning this was a, couples birthday dinner, and the waiter brought our checks and forgot the birthday desert and when asked about it he said, oh yeah I forgot. WTH.... THE SERVICE, FOOD, PRICING, OVERALL RECEIVES NO STARS FROM ME, I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN AND I WILL LET THOSE I KNOW NOT TO DINE AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!
We had the place to ourselves for a holiday party. Really enjoyed the bbq chicken pizza and prime rib. Right by the water which is cool to see boats pull up and moor up by the side. The bar seemed pretty standard, but the employees were super nice. The only draw back was the cold. Sitting on the side that faces the large windows is still pretty cold even with the heat indoors at full blast. I should mention it was night time... We had to eat at the bar on the side which faces the kitchen to keep warm... it was just super cold that night. Somewhere around 20 degrees with winds. But nice either way.
Views by waterside is great, watching the boats go by. Service was very good with the waitress being attentive and courteous. I thought the food selection was limited and overpriced. Food quality was very good and the seafood was nice and fresh. I would recommending trying this ace at least once to try for yourself. Youll love the outside ambiance on a nice summer day. After the meal, you can walk it off along the water since youre already situated in a park. Dont forget to mind the meter for your car.
Went here for my birthday 🥀and it was a hot mess🐠 the waiter was unprofessional she did not bring everything that was on my order she gave us dirty utensils my lemonade tasted like water my crab cakes were soggy wet and i only received two for the price i paid i asked the waitress to bring me some plastic utensils she never came back. It took 30 minutes for her to bring my daughter icecream back. Smh not the place for me🦘
Always a great view, that is nature’s doing. Went for lunch today, $15 cocktail cucumber martini was overly sweet, warm and I could not taste the alcohol at all, disappointing and overpriced. Friend ordered fried shrimp and she was turned off right away, I tasted a bit of it and honestly was a sour fishy taste, horrible. Waitress confirmed someone else experienced same thing today. Not good
Went here on a date last season(2019). Food was nothing to write home about, basically tasteless. Pricy and small portions. Had to wait over an hour for a table. Mostly kids as waiters and bar keeps that are not into their job. Had to pay a meter to park!! And on the water in the middle of nowhere and they roll up the sidewalks and close down early.. what a waste, I’ll stick to my native Brooklyn, I can get good seafood there this place not worth the effort, like every waterfront restaurant on Long Island, lousy overpriced food , nothing makes it worth the trip
Went to Nicky’s for dinner with my boyfriend and we racked up a $215 dollar check which we were happy to spend. The view was great and our waiter was a sweetheart. We did have a small problem with the fact that both our entrees lacked major taste. I had the shrimp scampi and it was dry and the shrimp had no flavor. The shrimp was served bare. Also my boyfriend got the stuffed shrimp entree and his dinner was too flavorless and the shrimp were dry with no seasoning or sautéed flavor.
This place is an absolutely beautiful place to take anyone during the summer of even go by yourself and mingle at the bar. I don’t even like most seafood dishes but sitting on outside seating area during the summer is just the best. It’s right on the water so you’ll see views of the ocean, sunsets, watch people fish off the docks, etc.Absolutely terrific location, environment, friendly staff, great service, delicious dishes, and well made drinks. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend.
This place is unbelievable! From the staff to the food to the entertainment to the location this is a spot you do not want to miss! Get here early and have a drink at the dock or at the bar upstairs, overlooking the Great South Bay. Amazing views!Emily, our server, was extremely sweet and recommended 2 dishes which were phenomenal. Everything came out promptly and delicious.I met the owner, Rachel and gushed about our visit....I seriously could not stop complimenting everything.Get here before they close for the season, in November....youll be glad you came!!
Food was great, service was a little slow but pleasant, but the thing I took issue with was the 3% transaction fee you tacked on for using a credit card. This is cheap, and made me think you want to take as much as you can. I didn’t see the posting of the surcharge, but even if I did see it, I would be equally unhappy. This isn’t how you treat a customer who is paying over $100. If you think your customers don’t mind to pay a surcharge, you are wrong. We notice. An ATM machine is not a suitable substitute. If you care about having good service, make it easy for your customers to pay and don’t charge them a service fee.
Good views. Good seafood. Pork belly buns were great. Burgers arent that great though. Plenty of bar space and upstairs deck is a great spot. Typical beer selection with a few local craft options. Nice and airy when all the windows and doors are opened up. Parking close can be tough at peak times.
Food is not bad, no gluten free menu, but I was able to find something to order and I didnt get sick. Others in my group enjoyed theirs more. Prices are high, youre really paying for the location and the view. Dress in layers if you want to sit outside, it can get windy.
Great views, limited menu, sincere but uncoordinated service, overly large portions on main courses. Mussels in white wine and garlic were delicious, crabcakes tasty but mushy, salad dressing for Greek salad was terrible. Fabulous views! Visited early in the season (before Memorial Day), so hopefully all will improve with time.
This place has great views of the bay 5+ easy, and the food tasted good like other places in the area. That said, not only is it crazy overpriced but you also have to be careful reading the menu and how you order. This was our third visit in the past with a group, so things got past us.My husband ordered...fillet of flounder on a roll, $13.50....I ordered fillet of flounder platter, $21.75... We were asked what side we wanted, he said fries and I, thinking my platter came with fries took the small side salad. He got two pieces of flounder, roll, and pickle...$13.50.....I got the same two pieces of flounder, and my small side salad no fries for $21.75.I could have ordered what he did thrown the roll to the seagulls, got a pickle and saved $7.25.?Asked the waitress about it and she said. You read the menu wrong. No, I read the menu right and for the last time!
The best restaurant in Long Island!! For sure would come back ! Waitresses were so kind and so helpful! Coming in, the hostess were so amazing and they helped us find a perfect table here at Nickys. View is amazing and staff is so great. Food came out so quick and it was so tasty! Service was great. Nickys made us feel so safe during COVID - 19, following all CDC rules. Social distancing was perfect and so clean! 10/10 would recommend!!
We visited for lunch on a Saturday looking for fresh seafood. Thinking this place would hit the mark, being right on the water, we were disappointed with the quality of food. It was before the lunch rush started and the dining area was quiet and comfortable. I ordered the fried flounder sandwich and my boyfriend had the mussels in white sauce with a clam bisque. The breading the flounder was fried in was soft and gritty, and the side of fries were soggy and unseasoned. The mussels were underdone, but the soup was very good. Our waitress was very sweet and the service was good, except we had to wait a very long time for the check (although perhaps it felt longer to me as at that point the smell coming off the mussels was getting to me).
Been here a few times because you cant beat a location like this especially in the summer. Great bar to hang out while you wait for your friends or table. The overhang roof over the bar slides open in sections to give an open and airy feeling. The food is decent and the portions can be large. Had the salad with a scoop of tuna, crabmeat, and shrimp. It was obscenely & overly filling. Next time I would opt for just a bowl of seafood bisque--prepare yourself for an interesting shade of pink, but its loaded with seafood and tasted great. The live music was very good and was a nice compliment to the meal.
Sat outside on the deck watching the ferries and boats go by. Great spot if you love the water and watching the activity. You will pay for it though, but its worth it as its the only other way to get that close to the water other than on a boat. The wait staff were freindly and on top of everything... Very good.Nickys burger was tasty with the onions and blue cheese topping.Very chunky blue cheese !!!The Sea Mermaid drink was great. The big treat was the Monkey bread desert. Like a big oozing cinnamon bun... Came with vanilla ice cream and wiped cream...Im older so I didnt go up to the outside bar.. But looked like fun and they had music. All in all.. . Ill be back to Nickys !!!
Another first time visit..Our food order was simple, Baked Cams Appetizer, Mussels with White Wine and Blue Cheese Mussels.Mid afternoon lunch. Waiter was very attenative! Food to table was prompt. This is a place we wanted to be able to revisit as the surroundings are extremely relaxing, with beautiful water views. The food I believe should be on a higher level than what was served.I hope the management takes this review not as an insult but as a concerned customer who wanted to be returning in the future and most likely will not. Please use this as a positive point and review how the items on the menu taste.Good luck and enjoy the rest of your Summer.
Whats not to like at Nickys On The Bay whether its a sunny or even not so sunny day! We have several favorites, fresh, sweet clams on a bed of ice plus the super tasty calamari! Salads, tuna, drinks are delicious. To top everything off, their customer service is professionally friendly, bathrooms are clean, music is lively and plenty of room for all. Its also a plus they have two locations, one being close enough to catch a peaceful ride over to neighboring Fire Island.
Great location, good service. VERY expensive for what you get quality-wise.($5.25 for an ear of corn as a side dish? Ridiculous.) I guess we all have to pay the owners bills during the off season. My wife ordered the Halibut and they absolutely destroyed it. Way, way overcooked - completely dried out. I ordered the Flounder and it was fine but hers was a disappointment.
The food was absolutely delicious and the prove we paid was fair. Id recommend this location because upstairs from the dining level was an open venue for live performances. This is a great place to go with friends and family because everyone can drink and have a great time.
As a resident of Queens, I’m always looking for new places to eat, and I’m just SO SO SOOOO happy i was told by these two ladies about here! Not only is their hospitality phenomenal, their food is beyond words! I really appreciate this place! I would continuously come back here time and time again! Thank you Nicky’s for giving me an amazing time tonight!
The place and view are nice, when we got there didnt have to wait too long for a table but didnt have any shade so we asked our waitress to please move us to another one under the tent when there was any available, she was nice, tried to look for another table for us, there were like 2 tables available before we get one, but the host gave them to other people that were just getting to the restaurant, for this our waitress apologized and she got the next available for us. I have to mention we were 4 people and were having some appetizers and drinks at the first table we were seated, we were advised if we moved we had to cancel that and start from 0, totally fine with that. Then we moved to the other table...We asked for some drinks, our waitress brought them and asked us what we were gonna order to eat, we told her we just had some appetizers and we were gonna wait a little bit before we order something else but we were gonna be having drinks in the meantime, she told us just letting you know that you need to order something to eat to keep the table we said, ok, and we will, but in a little bit, we just ate something at the table we were before, she insisted that we needed to have food on our table the whole time we were there, which it sounded to me ridiculous, first time I hear that 🤷♀️, we asked her why nobody told us that when we were seating at the other table, we said were not hungry yet, we want to have some drinks and then well order something, but its ok, well order some appetizers till later, so we did, 2 more. When she brought the appetizers, she also brought with her a paper with the regulations of the restaurant, and AGAIN SHE INSISTED ON THAT, at this point we said we dont want anything else, thanks, and we left.Immediately went to the nearest restaurant FATFISH, and asked the host if we could seat, eat, and have drinks (as we always do wherever we go) I told her what the other restaurant told us, she said thats crazy as long as you eat something, then you can stay drinking as long as you want, so we did, ate and drank for about 5 hours and had so much fun.So no, were not going back to Nickys 🤷♀️🤷♀️
My fiancé and I just went to Nickys for the first time with another couple. To start, we had to pay to park in the parking lot which seemed kind of annoying, but it was only 50¢ per hour so it wasnt that big of a deal.We got the mussels as an appetizer and they were delicious! I got crab cakes for my meal and I thought they were very good, especially with the sauce paired with them. My fiancé got the halibut and he thought it was really good also, Im not a big fan of fish and I actually really enjoyed it!On top of the delicious food, the atmosphere here is just awesome. You can sit inside (which is an open concept area, with all open doors), outside on the water, or at their outdoor roof bar. We went at 7pm so while we were there the sunset was gorgeous and an amazing touch to a lovely date. The price was very reasonable for the quality of food you are receiving and we will definitely go back!
First off, its a shame that patrons need to pay for parking. I thought the view and atmosphere would are up for that however I could not be more wrong! I ordered a hamburger which tasted absolutely dreadful , I couldnt eat it..... I figured Id order a desert instead and I found a hair in it!! I spoke with the manager who simply apologized and told me everyone wears hairnets. Youd think my friend and I wouldve received something comped however we wound up.paying $42 for a hamburger and 2 cocktails.......no view is worth it!!
Beautiful scenery, food is ok at best and the service was down right aweful! After waiting almost an hour for a table, we then waited almost 1 1/2 hours for our food. This includes the 30 additional minutes AFTER the manager was made aware of how long we were waiting. We were a table of 7 but this is no excuse, we watched as 2 other tables with equal amounts of people were seated, ATE and were ready to leave before our food arrived. Ive been here a few times and while the food was never anything to rave over it hadnt been this bad. They lost several customers that night.
Went there recently for the steamers (because theirs are quite good!,) but am extremely put off by the pricing, overall. We went to the roof deck, and were blown over by the $11.00 draft beers, cash only policy. The band was really good, but we enjoyed them even more the following week, at Whalers (over $5.00 bottled beer!)Need you adjust your prices to be more compatible with the area and the local ambience.
My son and I decided to check out the marina and try out some fishing for the first time, I stopped by at nickys to try the clam chowder. Mike not only set me up with containers but he let me borrow proper utensils so that we could enjoy at the spot where my son was fishing at. Price was just right for the convenience and great taste, looking forward to the next time we stop by to properly enjoy the full menu. Thanks again Mike see you soon.
Visited on a Sunday around 12. No waiting time for a table for 2. We sat on the lower outside deck right next to the water. The restaurant is located at the Marina, pay the meter to park. Max 4 hours,$1 per hour. Took about 5/7 minutes for our server to notice us and take our drink orders. The menu does not show the beer on tap,you have to ask,I opt for a $15 for a margarita and Eight ounce burger,$1.00 extra for american cheese. Served with a small portion of fries. Service was decent BUT food is overprice for the taste and appeal. For a $20 burger you expect better. At this location i think you pay for the View more than the food or service.Lunch for two with a $10 tip and one margarita and one dr.pepper came out to $61.85 . I will give it at try at sunset or night and try the second floor patio next time. As of now I DO NOT think this place is worth the price. Might be a good place to go and hang out and have a couple of beers but thats about it.
Not even worth giving this place 1 star.. waited over an hour and a half and still no table. We were initially told the wait would be 45 minutes. After an hour, we went to find out what the status was and the hostess, Melanie, told us that they accidentally must have skipped over us and that we would get the next available table, so we waited. Another half hour went by, as well as a few other people were seated. There were 3 hostesses and I get that its a busy evening, but it was completely unorganized.. not a good way to start off your experience at the restaurant. Very disappointed, will not be returning
As it gets later in the season its hit & miss! I took 6 people at dinner time to see live music and share the amazing mussels I have been enjoying. We a table upstairs. listening to live music outside having a great time. Then the food came 😞. When you order almost $40 for a 12 oysters you expect that they will be fresh ( on the water at a seafood restaurant) guess again. It looks like they were opend at lunch time. Deflated shriveled dried out & dead! And in front of me. I should have known the meal was going to be bad. When we ordered pretzels for the table hot pretzels with melted cheese. The pretzels with stale and the cheese was fake! We asked for a dozen little necks very small. That is not what we got! Looks like tops with cherries mixed in. If being disappointed three times! We take a final chance so one of the blue cheese mussels I have been raving about. Only to find out that they dont serve blue cheese mussels upstairs on the deck. :-(. Just when you think it cant get any worse. A Rowdy Bunch shows up and starts rearranging furniture. They must have been drunk before they showed up. Just when they got their first round they started to toast president stupid! I dont care who you vote for all your political view is. When Im out with my family and friends trying to have having a nice meal on the water in the middle of summer. And I get a bunch of drunken Irish Yahoo screaming Semper Fi God loves Trump. And no one was there to keep the noise down. It was time for us all to leave. Thanks God! I have been to Nickys several times this year I do not write a review every time. This is my second bad experience this summer. And the worst. The ownership should be aware of drunken patrons disturbing others trying to enjoy their night. Everyone is entitled to enjoy themselves but no one is entitled to ruin someone elses time. I will say they did exchange the oysters for new ones. But when I asked the server to do so she told me they would have to be inspected first by management and they would let me know whether or not I would get new ones. Homie dont play that! When youre a server in a seafood restaurant even if you dont eat seafood you should be educated on how it should look and be serve. No matter how bad Nickys on the bay is it will always make money because of its location. It is such a beautiful location. It is unfortunate it is not open for brunch Friday Saturday and Sunday. Or even open during the winter breakfast and lunch I know I would go! And many others I know would go. Even Monday Night Football will be great on the water in the winter season when theres nothing to do and no one around it is a magnificent out there. If you dont mind taking a chance on whether or not your food will be good or bad but guaranteed your check will be very expensive go to Nickys

2021-08-16Went there with a party of 9. Nicole was the barmaid she was fantastic. Great personality and great drinks. Or waiter was not so good. We all got seafood and my daughter got a hamburger, her plate didnt come out for about 10 min after we all got out food. So by the time hers came out all our food was cold. They did take off the cost of the burger but unacceptable. The manager apologized and said they were very busy that day.Food was good nothing to get crazy about.

2022-05-23Had a beautiful lunch here this past Saturday with my friend and everything was amazing. We ordered crab cakes as a starter and they were perfectly cooked and accompanied by a delicious dipping sauce. We both ordered the lobster rolls and omg they were loaded with lobster and just so damn delicious! I ordered the salty mermaid or something like that, it was a yummy drink. Although tbh I did expect it to be bigger for what it cost. For dessert we ordered a slice of cheesecake and Keylime pie and they did not disappoint. Our waitress, Brianna, was attentive and super friendly. We will definitely be back to see her and have more lobster rolls! 😊**I will say it was definitely more than we expected it to be. So plan on a pricey meal when you come here. Let me be clear that it was absolutely worth it, we just didnt realize because the menu has most items listed as being market price. However, since we didnt ask, the fault is ours.**

2021-09-01Great location on the water, food was delicious and service was very attentive. They had long island Vinyard wine, which was a nice surprise. Perfect for an after dinner walk around the pier. The photos are sesame encrusted tuna, rare with fried rice and corn salad. The second is pan fried halibut with arugula and cherry tomatoes.

2022-06-20All the food was good, but nothing blew me away. Don’t get the chips, unless you like ruffles out of a bag. The lobster roll had so many different tastes that I couldn’t really taste the lobster. Fried seafood was good. Also Very expensive. But the venue was really nice.

2021-09-27I was not impressed at all. The food quality was pretty bad. Way over priced. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because we ate outside on a beautiful evening. Our waiter was good. Besides that, we will not be going back. The lamb didnt taste like lamb ($37). I think there was beef gravy all over it? My wife didnt want linguini and they wouldnt offer another pasta or rice so she had to get French fries. For $37 shrimp scampi with fries.
