We ordered a large pizza and a dozen wings for take out. The crust is really good but I didn’t care for the flavor of the sauce. The sauce was also really salty. The wings were okay. We ordered medium and they must add sugar to the sauce, because they seemed sweet. The service was good and the restaurant seemed clean.
There was a fly on my food. I told them I tried to swat it away but it still landed on my food. When I showed them the fly that was still on my food, the reply was “ it is the only fly in the restaurant”. 1 minute later I was brought the check that included the entire amount. I did not even get a decent apology. This restaurant is very unhygienic would strongly recommend to NOT to go there.
Terrible! we were a party of 4....3 of us have never been to New York I was bragging to them that they never tried pizza until they had pizza from New York in Chicago... so because of the reviews, we pick this place and was highly disappointed. We ordered some calamari that was overcooked, rubbery, and you can tell it was frozen not fresh at all... also order a Basil salad that didnt have no flavor, no seasoning was not fresh at all ordered a clam pasta dish that was full of oil! Now last but not least we would have gave them a pass on all those items had the pizza been good, the pizza was terrible, Ive been going to New York myself for years and for this to be their first experience, was awful! I have always had delicious pizza from New York, it was nothing special about this pizza all the toppings wasnt great at all, not fresh tasted like something you could have just bought out the store, I was really surprised we had the XL Ninas special, and it wasnt nothing special about it! after reading the reviews, you would think that at least the pizza would have been good in have authentic Italian taste, but no it didnt! if you looking for real food, with real authentic Italian pizza and food. dont try this place, I was very upset about the $80 we spent for nothing! Do better!
Fantastic! We found out they do specialty pizzas (Dairy free, gluten free, etc..) We had the cheese free (dairy free) pizza. It was absolutely delicious!!!! The whole family enjoyed the pizza. No one complained about missing cheese. Not even once. In fact the kids asked for second helpings. We will definitely be repeat customers.
We sat down here passing through, and we got sucked into the most terrific little Italian place we’ve had in a while. I asked for something that’s not really on the menu.I wanted clams, in Fra Diavolo, and they offered it Bianca. Nevertheless, Nina herself made my dish in my preferred sauce and it hit every spot. The Mediterranean veggie wrap my wife got was divine, as well. Well recommended!
Dang! Ninas wings are the best in the entire area, not just Oneonta! Great pizza, great people, reasonable prices. Sals is good too, but for dinner entrees, wings, and ambience its Ninas all the way.* To expand on why the wings are so good: the sauce is more than just hot, its got depth; theyll raise the spiciness to blazing hot if you want; theres lots of meat-- no scrimping going on here; and even the bleu cheese is delicious (and I dont even like bleu cheese). Thank you, Ninas for outstanding products and services!
For $13 I got a dry, bland pepperoni roll and a slice of Eggplant pizza that tasted a little fishy (literally, like fish); and a 20oz Coke Zero. The best things about the pepperoni roll were the toasted sesame seeds topping it, and the dipping sauce it was served with. Whatever it was (Vodka Sauce, I think) was really good.Ive been to Ninas a few times, and every time its pretty much been the same: bland food which is way too expensive. The staff were very friendly and courteous, though. And the atmosphere is nice.Neighboring Sals used to be the best pizza in town, but under new management/ownership things are slipping – and they werent even open at lunchtime on a Friday today, which really doesnt bode well.If youre looking for the best pizza in Oneonta, right now its probably The Depot or Alfescos.
I came here today and ordered a pepperoni roll and a slice of pizza (their pepperoni rolls are the best in town). It accidentally was overcooked. They apologized and made me a new order while also giving me the food that was overcooked (still tasted delicious!) Now, thats what I call good business!
Ninas hosted our youth baseball team on one days notice. It was 45 people strong with players, parents, & siblings. The food and service were outstanding! Pizzas were rolling out of the oven constantly. I cant say enough good things about the experience. I would highly recommend Ninas for large parties or a family night out.
Fathers day - bad choice. Waitress and others very friendly. We ordered tea, chicken parm with angel hair. Tea didnt taste very good, so sent it back and ordered water. That was even worse, so got a bottle of water. Pasta was floating in water, chicken was not worth the wait. It would have been better to order a pizza.
Recently stopped in for lunch ordered two bowls of chicken noodle soup. Tasted like salted water and found a dead fly floating at the top of my soup. The lady preparing the soup used the same spoon to taste both mine and my boyfriends soup before bagging it up. We will not be going back there ever again.
Nice family-run spot. You see the teenage kids and even the little daughter running around behind the counter. Theres a nice area to sit down and eat, its slightly more upscale than your average low-end pizza joint. They have a little bar in the back as well.Ive had the eggplant parm and the meatball sub and they were both great
Good place to go for pizza by the slices and by the pie. Their restaurant food is excellent and large portions. order the claims appetizer and hold on to the beard and asks for more beard. You want it for the wine butter and parmesan sauce that comes with the clams, excellent.
Couldnt tell if me being hungover was the reason why the food made me so nauseous or if it was because it was so terrible. My pizza was soggy, and falling apart with absolutely no flavor. I came with my family and they all agreed the food was less than subpar. Overcooked pasta, flavorless sauce, soup that literally smelled like a fart and tasted like salted water. I asked the waitress if the pasta fagioli soup was vegetarian or if the broth was vegetable or animal broth, and she came back and told me its made with beans and pasta as if that isnt in the name of the soup? The restaurant smelled like a dirty mophead and Im severely dissapointed. The location is wonderful and the restaurant itself could be renovated into something beautiful, but mama Ninas is NOT it. Someone get Gordon Ramsey in this place for a kitchen nightmares episode....they cant make good food, but at least it would make some good television
Ordered a pizza from these guys, showed up 1 hour, 15 minutes late. Pizza and wings were cold, was told we had a lot of deliveries. What a joke this place is. Horrible customer service and terribly run business. Order from anyone else in the area and theyre probably going to be better.
Wait staff was great but, pizza crust was very soggy with a lot of what seemed like watered down sauce on the tray after removing a slice. Also the person that cut the pie needs to learn how to cut a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza. Had 3 full slices with toppings and 2 with half toppings and half cheese.
Like their food, but every couple times I go in there to eat on a relatively busy night we get ignored by their wait staff and eventually leave after 15 minutes of being walked by . They need a host to seat or something. But good food always. We just do delivery or take out orders now.
Well, it used to be our favorite pizza place. Decor is a bit dark and drab. They care more about the bar than the restaurant. Yes, the bar brings in a lot of money, but you need to treat each section equally. Now to the food/service...Ordered a spinach pizza; they called back... they had no spinach. Okay, I can deal with that once. Another time we ordered a mushroom pizza. Guess what? They had no mushrooms. The third, and final straw, is when we ordered two meatball subs. Want to take a wild guess? If you said they were out of meatballs, you got it. I dont know whos managing this place now, but they have a serious problem with their food ordering. How does an Italian restaurant/Pizzeria run out of mushrooms and meatballs? What will they run out of next? Tomato sauce? Sorry, Mama Ninas, but you lost a couple of faithful customers.
This is your one stop shop for every thing Italian. From Pasta Fagioli to Pizza and garlic knots. Best place to get pizza in Oneonta, in my personal opinion. Vigilant staff, comfortable dining area, and they also have a mini bar to make you a quick drink or throw you a quick beer after a long day at of work. If you like a small but fantastic eating experience. Ninas Italian Restaurant is the way to go!
The pizza is eh... Its ok. But dont order off the dinner menu!! Since when does marsala come with its own oil refinery!! I cant tell you the number of times I have watched unknowing people dump at least 1/4 cup of oil out of there dinners. Unqualified, good enough to feed a 3am hangover, almost.

2022-07-10Really great by the slice pizza. We ordered slices of cheese and meatball pizzas. Also ordered the garlic knots. Everything was great! And to top it off, they are SERVICE DOG FRIENDLY!

2022-03-21I’m a cook, a baker, and have been a lead pizza cook in my time; I also grew up in NYC and have had pizza up and down both coasts, and all through Italy. This pizza wasn’t bad, but wasn’t good. Fresh, well baked, but average across the board. I can’t say anything bad, but I couldn’t recommend it for a real good pizza. For its region it is probably really good. Above average garlic knots. Staff was real nice and we were in and out in 40 minutes. Saw some bad reviews on cleanliness; I didn’t experience any of that myself, it looked real clean in parts I saw.

2022-07-05We LOVE the pizza here! They also have a gluten free option that we get for my son, and it is really good, too - its his favorite. Were all obsessed with the parmesan garlic crust. The service there is great too. They are always so helpful and go out of their way to answer any questions. My son has allergies to artificial dyes and annatto and had an allergic reaction to something, but we didnt know what had caused it. When I called to ask about their ingredients, they walked me through it all and read the ingredients on the gluten-free crust and the pepperoni (everything else is fresh). I was so grateful they took the time to help even though they were busy... That spoke volumes... They care. (We eventually found the food he reacted to ... It wasnt from here). I highly recommend Ninas.

2022-04-25My husband and I love coming to Ninas. Any time we get extra money to go out to eat Ninas is always our choice. They have thin pizza just like what you would get down in the city. There pizza is just like city pizza with out the craziness of the City. There strombolis are absolutely delicious. We always keep coming back and trying new things and are never disappointed. The owners are highly respectful and modiste. The staff is always respectful and professional. This is a family friendly restaurant, they are very clean there even with a rush they keep it clean. If I could rate Ninas a million stars I would. I would go there over any other pizza place in oneonta.

2022-03-13I have always loved Ninas pizza and have ALWAYS recommended it as the best pizza in town. I live local and I work local so I support local. Ninas has now lost my business. On December 27th, I placed an order at 3:58 pm and I waited 2 and a half hours to receive my food.. at the 2 hour mark I called to let them know that I would be denying my order because it would be too cold and we ordered from somewhere else. The woman on the phone was surprised the order still wasnt there, but said that she would have done the same thing. The order finally showed up and I denied it like I said and called again to let her know. Fast forward to March 13th, I call and Im told that that Im on the no order list. This whole time my wife has ordered from there without issue somtimes weekly, but because I called now my wife cannot order either. I couldnt speak to the owner and the person in the background was being rude about it to my wife. I always recommended ninas to my customers, no more. I always order from work with my co workers, no more. This is what happens when you constantly order from one place and always tip well? Its unfortunate because their pizza is really actually good, but customer service is were you need to improve. I couldnt speak to the owner and no one called us. I wont be ordering again and while my orders will not amount to a whole lot, I know that this review should serve as a warning to everyone.

2022-04-11Terrible service, server did not know what she was doing. To begin, we waited an hour and a half for our food. Gave my friend eggplant parm hero instead of chicken parm and she takes a bite and the server comes back and says the kitchen said it was the wrong thing. Proceeds to say they are making the chicken which took another twenty minutes. They refused to let her keep both sandwiches, even though it was going to get thrown out anyways. After we waited an hour and 30 min, everyone who ordered penne alla vodka was just paraded with so much salt I swore I was drinking right from the ocean. My other friend also found a piece of hair in her pasta. To say this was a nightmare is an understatement. We will never return. just throw the whole biz away
