I ordered Chinese vegetables with shrimp: Mostly bland cabbage in salty water with a few shrimp instead of mixture of vegetables in a flavorful sauce. Also, the portion size has really decreased. This is not worth the price and would not recommend.
Chinese fast food...nothing special but it gets the job done when you are craving Chinese fast food.
The food was extremely bland.I ordered the schezwan shrimp and pork, which had a spicy sign next to it. It was better than what my friends ordered but it definitely needed more spice.Im from India though, we like our food a bit spicy.

Great food. Its Plattsburghs good american chinese food place you can rely on, every city needs one. Lunch specials are a good deal for good food. Also, its family-owned and their kids write the signs around the place, its pretty cute. There were words that were scribbled off because they wrote the sentence wrong lol. Good place all around.
Great place, the customer service is fast and helpful and the food taste great. Personal favorite mine is the wings and the boneless ribs.
This use to be THE place for Chinese food maybe 3 - 4 years ago. But the food I got last night was beyond a disappointment. There was almost no flavor to the beef ribs and they were dry. The “jumbo” shrimp in the sweet and sour shrimp was NOT in tempura batter, it seemed to be pancake batter, way too heavy and doughy and the shrimp was a medium at best, cut in half and layer end to end to look like a jumbo. It was 3 parts batter to 1 part shrimp. The sweet and sour sauce was all sweet, no sour. The shrimp toast was like a sponge soaked in oil. All in all extremely disappointed.

After years of dining at & ordering from Hong Kong Jade Buffet the fire created a void in our dining routine. We ordered lunch one afternoon from No 1 Chinese and have been loyal customers since. No 1 Chinese isnt just their name, its our rating of the items we ordered the 1st time & each time since.Their lunch specials are priced fair & the quality & quantity of the items on the lunch menu are exceptional. My wife always orders their Sweet & Sour Chicken and the dipping sauce is made fresh from scratch daily. It always tastes the same which is welcoming & of comfort as no one likes to be hungry for something only to get it & have it taste different each time. We usually ask for their Chicken Fried Rice to be included rather than the plain white and seldom is there a up-charge for the generous bed of CFR. It has generous amts of white meat chicken and diced onions throughout. I also have asked for their Vegetable Fried Rice & have chicken added, or the CFR with veggies added.The other items we usually order are their Sesame Chicken with extra brown sauce and they seldom add a additional fee.The only thing that I have been disappointed in is No 1 Chinese used to provide 2-Spring Rolls when adding that item to the lunch order, but for the past couple of years the lunch orders only get 1-Spring Roll, which is how their Egg Rolls have always come when added to the lunch order. I know the dinner combo items are 50%+ larger in quantity & includes a Vegetable Egg Roll.I have read several of the other reviews and suggest when ordering any form of Fried Rice ask to have what you want put in it. Ask for veggies to be added to your Chicken FR, or extra sauce to your protein items. No 1 Chinese always accommodates, just speak up, as no restaurant likes a unhappy customer.
Quality was never anything special, but has really gone down over the last couple years. ordered chicken fried rice to go. container had a thin layer of chicken on the top, then no chicken below that....90% of the container was just plain fried rice. quite a ripoff. wont be ordering here again. cheaping out like that will cost you customers. maybe they should rename the place No. 2 .... because thats what it tastes like.
Fried Riced is not fried it’s steamed and they charge you for egg that you will not receive this place is a joke! This is not authentic Chinese food Run 🏃 and don’t look back! Waste of money! 🤷
No taste?! General Tao was bland to say the least. Pork fried rice was just yellow rice. Wonton soup was horrible falling apart. Never again
The food is good, the rice has changed so now there are no more vegetables in it which is disappointing. No dine in anymore, it’s only delivery.
Extremely disappointed. We ordered about a month ago and the pork fried rice had very little specks if pork. I thought maybe it was a mistake so we decided to try it again. Again no pork only specks, the sesame chicken tasted like flour and the lomein also had nothing in it. Plus together with a large increase in price. I paid 36 bucks for fried rice, pt lomein, dumplings and sesame chicken and and 2 egg rolls. I should have paidabout 25 bucks. I realize Covid Hurt many business but you certainly arent helping yourself out with this quality of food
As with many small Asian take out restaurants, recipes vary between cooks. Sometimes very good and sometimes not as good. However, Ive been eating there off and on for 30 years and the food is pretty tasteless. Time to move on.
First time trying it and it was amazing. I never have liked egg rolls, but their egg rolls were amazing. I got general tso chicken that wasnt too spicy, I got my girls sweet and sour chicken and they loved it. Only thing I didnt like was their chicken fried rice, too many onions. But overall great place will definitely be going back!
I ordered shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp was not completely cooked. There wasnt a sauce with the dish, it was more like a broth. Tossed it in the garage
Ordered chefs specialty mongolian beef. Paid extra for shrimp fried rice. 20 dollars total after tax and mandatory tip. Rice came in a small cardboard container and the beef came in a small round plastic container. Barely any beef in the entree. For 20 bucks I could have gone down the road and got twice as much food that tastes 100 times better. Will not be back here again.
Will never order there again. Chicken fried rice tasted rancid. Had nothing in it other than yellow rice and little chicken. No eggs, no veggies. Dumplings were tasteless and egg rolls thick with grease which tasted off as well. The WORST! What happened as they use to be very good.
I am giving it one star because otherwise it does not let me move on... the food was horrible, Chinese food my foot...try the prices!!! Double of what it should of been....I have no problem supporting my local business however good food is expected for my money and double the price....they may have been closed for a couple of months, but people have been out of work.. we support the local business and they screw the public ..i am boycotting this place and suggest that no o goes specially if you are on a budget this pandemic hit us all not just the small businesses....🤬🤬😡😡😨😨
Never usually have issues with this place but tonight man do I. Ordered some steamed dumplings with my meal and after the first one I looked closer as the second one tasted off as well. Upon closer inspection they were far from cooked. Well as I write this review I am firmly planted on the toilet and purging my soul of this evil.
I ordered my food online and I received it rather quickly, food was hot. However the house special rice was bland, alot of white rice mixed in, chicken lo mein was great and tasty However I paid extra for egg and not even a speck of egg? They took my money though, crab Rangoons were half full at best, bone ribs were tiny but good, chic wings were average not bad, egg rolls ok, I asked for knives, forks, spoons, napkins and plates (plural) ordered enough for two to 4 ppl, I received one fork and a cpl napkins? Thats it, I received one fortune cookie? One??? Overall disappointed I had to end up driving to the store and getting supplies to eat. One of the worst for condiments Ive ever had, usually restaurants over pack that stuff and at least give u 3-4 fortune cookies. Excited to have delivery without having to go out! I had to go out so not happy. It was typed clearly. I could see if I called in maybe they forgot or something so I give a two star... being generous with average food and no condiments and one lousy fortune cookie! And ripped off with no egg in my lo mein I paid extra for. If I were to order again Id write a book then call them to make sure I got everything I needed. But Id recommend that you seek better Food. Its definitely out there!!
Was gonna order chicken wings and chicken fried rice. The 1st price he gave me for order was 7 dollars and some change. After I was finishing order for delivery, the final total was 11 dollars and some change. When asked how the price went from 7 bucks to 11 bucks, he stated its a 3.75 delivery charge. I like their wings but Dam!! For 11 dollars and some change, I can get enough food for 2 meals and delivery charge included at Jade Buffett. So Jade it is. Their food is better anyway!!

Poor quality of food. One dish was so spicy it was not able to be eaten, second dish had no flavor. Was given one price when making phone order, but the price rose by $10 when food was picked up.
I had a very enjoyable meal here which they made to my liking. I asked them to make a couple of their menu items good and spicy and they made them perfectly. I would definitely go back.
Wont bother ever going here again. Called for over an hour and a half. Cant answer phone? Ill fine elsewhere from now on. Pulled in to parking lot. Cant get a response at the door and only want credit or debit card now. Thanks anyways. I have good old cash. And Ill dine at Texas Road House from now on when in town
Hello, to everyone who is reading this.I will share my experience from this Restaurant.I have some Seminar in Plattsburgh, And after finishing class, i took my Family and we chose this Chinese Restaurant.Inside Was very very dirty, Ive never seen a Restaurant this dirty Before, The floor was very very sticky and greasy, The tables and seats were very dirty.I was shy to get out of the restaurant and i ordered the food i was thinking the food was going to be better than the restaurant.When the food came it was terrible. We never tried Badder food than this.Nobody could Have ate it. I paid everything and i told the couple of ladies that the food was terrible. They took my Money for Bad food and they dont care. The people who were working were not Welcoming and rude.
Ordered for my mom she said $30 and didnt receive half her order. We live 25 minutes from town, when I called the store and asked for a refund on my mothers card the manager told me she didnt know how to do that and refused to deliver to us. The only thing she offered to do was leave a note for the next time we order to have the money taken off. I told the women we rarely order and asked if there was anything else they could do and she said no sorry. Not a very good way to run a business. Will never order from them again.
I have done take out with this restaurant for many years, and it seems that it has gradually gone downhill for the last few years. The food is not nearly as flavorful, and it is very inconsistent. I hope that the quality goes up soon.
Had an awful experience with No 1 Chinese restaurant. The food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. After taking an hour to deliver two combination specials to my house (a 4 mile drive) the driver was incredibly rude to me. I had signed the credit card slip and was reaching for my wallet for the tip (I always tip in cash so the drivers dont have to report it as income) when I heard him say What? No tip a--hole? He already had received a $5 dollar delivery charge so I responded Not anymore, you just lost it He then told me to f--- off among numerous other insults. Needless to say I will not be ordering from this Chinese restaurant again as there are many other options with much better food in Plattsburgh.
This place is a Plattsburgh staple. GReat prices and good food, its all you can want and more. You can order online, over the phone, or pickup in house. Portions are great and definitely leave plenty for another meal (or two). They are very accommodating and have even brought back fman order when the online order was messed up. All in all its a great place to order from!
Worst Chinese food ever. Chinese vegetables only bok choy nothing else. Forgot to put in duck sauce and soy sauce. Egg roll dry . Overpriced and awful. Never going there again

Chicken wings was old...I couldnt take smell of it. Shrimp fried not even real...separated rice with couple shrimps and onion on it...wow...never again.

The staff were professional and the place was clean but the food was not that great. We ended up getting sick from it and had to bring it home to add flavor since there was next-to-none to start with. The rice was a little under done and the portions were smaller than other chinese restaurants I have been to. I will be unlikely to return in the future.
My rice was tough. The rice wasnt cooked unfortunately, but it smelled great. 😩

2022-06-14I decided to try this place out despite the fact that they seem to have kind of a low rating. I ordered a small hot and sour soup and a small crab rangoon and I thought both were very good. The service was good and the woman spoke very good English.

2022-01-23The worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Called owner to explain never got call back. Normally I speak to owner before writing review but was never contacted back. Wonton soup water with noodles. Pork fried rice just undercooked rice with nothing in it. Orange flavored beef not sure what is was but unable to eat. Cheapest sauces on earth for dipping. NEVER again.

2022-01-13Usually food is great but today I was sent the wrong item in my door dash order. I got no apologies from No. 1 and was directed to Door Dash to receive a refund. The fried dumplings I ordered cost close to $7 and Door Dash refunded me $1.86. Very disappointed in this order
