I had such a great experience with Nikki Bee as my artist and everyone who works at the shop. Very professional, great customer service and just overall, fun to be in everyone’s presence. I asked for a very personal tattoo - a photo that I love of my Mom but turned into a vintage, pop-artsy version of it, not a replica. Nikki provided me multiple options and worked with me when I arrived to make sure I loved it. She was also incredibly patient with me because I was so nervous about getting a tattoo on my arm. But Nikki guided me through the process, giving great suggestions which I decided to go with and I’m so happy with the outcome. Exactly what I was looking for and exactly the experience I was seeking. Cheers to Nikki, this great group of artists, and the shop. Thanks for making my NYC trip so memorable.
This evening I got a tattoo with Heather and I am SO impressed. Heather was so kind and professional throughout the entire experience. She made me feel so welcomed. As for the tattoo, it has far exceeded my expectations! It is so bright and saturated and beautifully done. The shop was also super clean with a great vibe the entire session. I will definitely be going back to see Heather when I get my next tattoo!

Shop is super clean, staff is professional, music’s chill, and my tattoos look fantastic. God led me to get my tattoos with Matt Buck. This prophetic idea was very important to me and my beliefs, and Matt executed everything from the research and design to the work itself flawlessly. Highly recommend. Could not have expected anything better.
They kept really safe with Covid and regulations. I had Joey and I absolutely love how my tattoo turned out. It is super detailed and just stunning looking. It was my first but they made me feel really comfortable. He managed to make it detailed as well as working at a nice pace. I definitely recommend.

My experience at No Idols Tattoo was lovely. The shop looks amazing even better than the photos! Everyone is very professional and polite from the secretary to the tattoo artists. My artist was Jon and Ill give my first time working with him a 10/10, this man is amazing, really funny and super FAST. Ill definitely recommend everyone to stop and get tattooed at this shop.
Awful job on my tattoo. Asked for lines to thin. Lines are messy and too thick on one of the tattoos. Ink bleeding under my skin. Going to need a cover up done.
My experience was amazing at no idols that too. The staff were great and friendly. The place is very clean. I had heather tattoo me for the 1st time ever and she did a wonderful job on both of my tattoos. Any questions that you have they will answer it with full details and descriptions. I recommend going here if you want your tattoos done well.
I went to No Idols and was tattooed by Nikki, it was a great experience. She made sure that I was happy with the placement and the tattoo came it great, I’m so happy with it. It’s heavy solid black and there are no missed spots or anything; she did an amazing job and she’s super nice, I felt comfortable the whole time. Highly recommend.
I had an appointment with Nikki for one of her flash pieces. Not only was the tattoo impeccably done but the overall vibe of the shop stood out to me compared to others in the city. Everyone was very friendly and down to earth. They routinely showed other artists and clients their respective work when completed. Very artistic, professional, and encouraging.
Nikki did a lovely piece on my arm and it turned out amazing! She worked perfectly around my existing tattoos and was super quick and professional. 10/10 would recommend!
No Idols is the best place to get tattooed, hands down.I was introduced to the shop by Heather Hellion, whom I have worked with in the past and followed over from a shop on the island.She is amazing! Her line work is incredible, she is especially clean and conscious, and I always walk away from our sessions over-the-moon about the end product. For as long as Heather is around, I will continue to go see her and so should anyone reading this. I have already recommended several friends and family members who have admired the work she has done on me so far.The same can absolutely be said for the shop, as well. I have never once questioned the cleanliness or sterile practices of the employees, but it is always reassuring to see their assistants thoroughly prep and clean the equipment they use. Take a look around when youre here because you will learn a lot about the tattoo community! It also helps that the shop is in a great location, close to trains and great food (literally in the heart of Chinatown and only steps from Little Italy).Overall, whether you are a seasoned tattoo veteran or a newbie, this shop is a great place to go. And say hi to Heather for me.
I had an idea of what I wanted but nothing set in stone. I booked with Heather and she came up with a tattoo better than I imagined! She was very patient (my 1st big tattoo), made me feel very comfortable and I will be back in. Top notch work
Edit: I had given this 4 stars but Ive updated it to 5! Just wish that the Orchard street storefront had more distance between stations. It was a little snug and it was a bit uncomfortable having artists and clients constantly walking across or in front of where I was laying. However Im super happy with my tattoo and my artist was perfect! Definitely would get more work done here!
I have never been more excited to write a review in my entire life. Let me just start by saying WOW. This shop is GORGEOUS. It’s clean as hell-from the bathroom, to the floor, to the furniture-it’s extremely clean. I love the artwork throughout the entire shop. It makes for a good distraction during your tattoo session and it’s as though you’re in a museum of amazing art. Even the bathroom is filled with dope art! My artist was Skylar and I couldn’t have picked a better person to tattoo me. Her style of tattooing was perfect for what I wanted (see attached photo). She translated what I pictured in my mind into my tattoo and I am SO pleased with it. On top of her amazing talent, Skylar is very personable and makes for an awesome conversation. She’s straightforward, and very knowledgeable when it comes to her skill. She explained everything to me from how she tattoos, to how to care for my tattoo properly once I go home. I even had questions I forgot to ask her during my session and once I got home, I was able to reach out to her and get a quick response. What blew my mind the most about her was how incredibly SANITARY she is, along with the entire shop. She took every precaution to ensure that the process was clean and sanitary and it made me feel extremely comfortable. Her whole personality made me feel extremely comfortable. My session was smooth and as comfortable as it could be. A few other staff members were there at the time of my appointment. They were also very kind, personable, and chill. It felt like I was right at home. I highly suggest if you’re in this area and want to get a tattoo that you go to No Idols. They’re amazing and each artist has their own style which makes them extremely versatile and can make it easy for people with all types of art preferences to be catered to. I highly recommend this shop! I will definitely be returning.
I’ll start off by saying that everyone here is super friendly! I never once felt intimidated by anyone while I was booking or getting my tattoo. I even had to reschedule my first appointment due to being sick. The process was seamless and everyone was understanding. Matt was great; very focused and in tune with what he was doing. I would highly recommend getting a tattoo here!
Clean, great atmosphere and friendly artists. My artist was Nikki and she was amazing. Not only did the tattoo come out amazing and vibrant but she took the time to ask me if I was comfortable throughout the process and explained to me in detail how to care for it once I leave. This a great shop to go and get a piece done. A lot of beautiful pieces and a nice vibe to the spot. Ive gotten 3 pieces done so far with Nikki and she does a wonderful job, especially since these have been my first tattoos it was a bit nervous to begin. Ive since loved what Ive gotten and wish to do more.
I absolutely love it here. I recently went the other day to get my first tattoo and I had the best experience. My tattoo artist was Matt, who was very friendly and nice. He made sure I was comfortable and satisfied with my tattoo throughout the whole process. Although I got something small and simple all the tattoo artist’s are very talented. I looked through the different portfolio’s that were there and was very impressed by the different designs. I am definitely coming back for some more tattoo’s and this will forever be my spot!!!
Joey Rosado did my cover up tattoo and came up with a sick concept to fulfill the theme I was looking for. Not only was the shop super clean and professional, and Joey incredibly talented, it was honestly good and fun conversation while he was doing his art on me. I cannot recommend Joey and No Idols highly enough.

Nikki is amazing! Got a tattoo almost two months ago and it still looks so fresh! I felt very comfortable in there during this covid situation. Everyone was friendly (which is not always the case a tattoo shops) cannot wait to book my next tattoo!

I got an amazing piece by Heather, I followed her all the way from Long Island. Heather really takes the time to listen to you whether it’s part of the drawing and conception phase or if you’re in pain during the tattoo, she will work with you and make sure you’re completely comfortable. Heather spends a lot of time ensuring that your tattoo is top notch and she made my new piece stellar. I definitely recommend No Idols Tattoo and Heather for any tattoo whether it’s a small one or a huge piece I will definitely be going back to her for any other tattoos.
First tattoo ever, so nice and welcoming. Easy to reach out to and help make the best decisions for yourself. Very honest on where I should get a tattoo for the first time and I am super satisfied on the end result. Little to no pain after and easy aftercare routines. I got a carnation and it was exactly what I wanted.

The design was exactly what I wanted and she took the time once I arrived to resize and work on placement with me. Everyone was very professional, the shop is immaculate and the atmosphere is great. Great experience with Heather! We walked in two hours before closing and she got my husband and I taken care of. Pleasant and friendly, good chit chat during for a distraction, and best of all GREAT clean work! I came in with a line design and she convinced me to get shading, and I’m so glad I did! Highly recommend this place, super clean and great art everywhere.

From consult to tattoo the team at No Idols has been nothing less than great. They make you feel like family throughout your entire process there. Fortunate enough to have had a consultation with Jon and decided to move forward with my sleeve. First session down, and it was nothing less than great! HIGHLY recommend.

My first experience getting a tattoo and the experience was amazing. First off the communication was on point through email, via after Covid. Everyone in there was great vibes and the tattoo itself was crispy neat. Loved the experience, definitely a must.P.s. Jules held it down along with Jon!
Booked an appointment and put a deposit down a while back when planning my trip to NYC. When coming for my tattoo session I waited for over 1 hour to find out that the tattoo artist was not even in. Ended up asking for a refund and leaving. Since then, the artist has reached out and apologised for the inconvenience but explained the reason of her absence on the day. I much appreciated the thought, and felt the artist made it right. Will be giving the studio a second chance when back in town. Studio looked clean and very trendy.
I have gotten several pieces done by artists at No Idols and cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the shop. It is clean, appointments are always timely and the amazing work speaks for itself.
No Idols is my favorite tattoo shop in the city. Ive gotten 4 tattoos from Matt Truiano and his talent and creativity is second to none. Several years later they still look stellar and the colors remain vibrant. This place has artists and a staff that are extremely friendly, professional, and dedicated. They really take care of you and make you feel comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Jon Mesa did both out tattoos and was super helpful with consulting and giving advice as it was my first. Pricing was also reasonable compared to other parlors we had researched.Will definitely be back here for my second. :)
I came to get Friday 13 tattoo special, since it was walk in first come first served. I waited few hours but it worth the wait. When I was finally my turned I got Jon Mesa he was very kind even tho our conversation was short I felt comfortable. He did crow with the number 13 in its eye. When he was done with my tattoo I was so happy with it. He did absolutely Immaculate job. I would highly recommend him and the shop to get some awesome ink.

I am on a vacation in New York and walked in with a very small work to be done. All the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, turned out i was able to get tattooed right away! My artist was Gabe who was very professional and a real gentleman. However small my tattoo is, he still really took his time with it, making it perfect! After moving to NYC, I had no clue how to find a reputable artist and after lots of research, I decided to go with Richard Smith from No Idols Tattoo. BEST decision Ive ever made. The work is incredibly!!! The prices are with in reason and the environment is super chill and laid back. I strongly recommend Rich and his team no matter if this is your first tattoo or last!!!

The shop is easy to find, Im always seen by the front desk right away to confirm details, and everyone there is so friendly. The space is clean and professional. Based on my sessions with Heather and overhearing the other artists, I can tell that 100% of the staff at No Idols are working WITH their clients to bring their ideas to life. Highly recommend!!

I was visiting New York for a short while and was lucky enough to be near this shop. I had been following Matt Buck on social media and really wanted some of his work. I walked in on a Friday and we were able to set an appointment for Sunday after giving him the general idea of what I wanted. I had no clear image in my mind but I knew he would draw something I would like. He drew and tattooed something far beyond what I had imagined, its healed wonderfully and looks as good as the day he did it. I will absolutely be returning for more, he worked with my budget, was friendly and very professional. Thanks again matt!

I came in following a recommendation with another individual who was looking for some ink to commemorate a road trip wed been on. Upon arrival we received some solid talk regarding the direction of the work(From Dean), what was probable, and that theyd be able to have an artist in within a short amount of time to evaluate, draw, and do the request. Fast forward a tad bit, and it began. The artist Matt Buck took his time, evaluating and adjusting the design to excellent quality before following up with not only superb work, but great conversation, along with a prodigious amount of focus, and skill. I plan to get some ink here as well on my next trip to the NYC. I can easily recommend No Idols Tattoo for its work, artists, design, and overall environment.

Went to Bekah to get my brows microbladed and she did an amazing job! From the moment I got there she was thorough in explaining every step of the process to me as well as aftercare. She sensed when I wasn’t 100% happy with the color she first mixed and mixed another one until I loved it. She was patient and sensitive to when it might hurt and would periodically ask if I was in any pain, and she’s also just a kind and calming presence all around - highly recommend!
Came to No Idols Tattoo to get some work done by Matt Truiano and it was well worth traveling from California for. Not only is Matt Truiano extremely talented and created a piece that was absolutely perfect, but all of the other tattoo artists in the shop are just as talented and very professional. I went to get a tattoo and showed them what I wanted. My tattoo artist (Heather) gave me her own spin off what I asked for which looked absolutely nothing alike. She destroyed my arm. I was too scared to say anything at the time... but now I am spending thousands getting removed. Biggest regret of my life.

This place is just awesome. From the laid back atmosphere to the people themselves. Ive gotten 3 separate pieces here and each time has been perfect. Jon is amazing the rose and swallow on the back of my hand came out beyond perfect and Gabe has been awesome at filling some small gaps with perfection. Im already planning more with both of them. Soon. I would recommend this place over and over and over again.
Great staff and super clean in a Covid world. No contact temperature checks, hand washing and sanitizer are required once you walk in. Joey was amazing and thorough, his designs are second to none. I’m already thinking of my next piece :) can’t wait to come back!

All of the artists here, both guest and resident, are absolutely world class, published in magazines and shown on television. The shop is spotless and modern, and their prices are fair. You can walk-in for a small tattoo or schedule an appointment for large, custom pieces!
So after following and admiring @jonmesa for quite sometime, I had the opportunity to get a very small piece done by him (for all to view soon) and regardless of how small this piece was he treated it like it was a large piece and tailored it specifically for me. An amazing artist who has an amazing personality and understands what it means to make a client feel special. I look forward to many more sessions done by this spectacular artist and maybe a beer or two when we visit NYC. Thanks Jon couldnt have had a better experience.
I worked with Carolina at No Idols and I could not have been happier with the result. From the second I walked in she was listening to every idea I had and giving advice on what would look best while integrating my thoughts. She told me what she was doing every step of the day and the end result is bette than I could ever have dreamed. I will be back ASAP to work with Carolina again.

I’ve had 3 tattoos from 3 different artists and the entire shop is filled with some of the best tattooers you can find, not to mention awesome atmosphere just to be around.
Joey was amazing! I showed him exactly what I wanted and he executed it precisely AND in a timely manner. I really appreciated his time and dedication. Will definitely be coming back in the future. 10/10!!!

2022-08-17Got three piercings done with Tabitha and she has been beyond helpful with me on my piercings. She is incredibly knowledgeable and guides you through the process and her setup. I needed a larger bar for my philtrum piercing eventually because I tend to swell a lot and she came to the shop on her day off and replaced the bar. Highly highly recommend!

2022-08-11I was going to be in NYC for a month and wanted to get tattooed by Matt. I reached out via the contact sheet on his website and got an email from the shop asking when Im in town. I responded with the dates. A week and a half later still no response. I called the shop and get told Matts books are closed and hes booking for 6 months from now. Total waste of my time.

2021-09-06I had an amazing experience at this shop. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming! I got my first tattoo done by Diego and it was exactly what I wanted. The shop is beautiful, and the atmosphere is so comforting. I have gotten a deeper love for tattoos since coming here, and I highly recommend them!
