Very friendly staff. Food is always fresh, hot and fast. Theres limited space to sit and dine but most people who visit already know this so its in and out. I have strict dietary laws that I adhere to which is why I love to visit this spot. I can get a variety of take out choices without worrying about if its prepared according to my dietary requirements. The vegetable egg foo yung and egg fried rice is very tasty.
I usually dont write reviews but I cannot skip this pleasure to write compliment they deserve. I m very sensitive with halal topic and this place satisfied me by providing the pictures of their halal certificate beside verbal verification via the phone conversation. 5 star for professionalism. In addition, the food is so tasty and the porsions are so generous. Unfortunately, we dont have restaurants like No Pork Halal kitchen in Florida. If I come back to Brooklyn again, for sure, this place is a must place for me and my family. I can strongly suggest to anyone.Thank you for your great customer service and food.
My husband and I were searching for a halal for a while until we came across this No Pork Halal Kitchen! Alot of the carts in the city claim to be halal and when you ask them they say it’s all beef… but that doesn’t satisfy us that it is truly halal. When we called this restaurant, they texted us their halal certificate right away! So we took the train ride over to Brooklyn and we are so happy we did! The food was great with generous portions and we tried a few things from the menu! Fried chicken dumplings, chicken wings, shrimp and beef with broccoli and a side of fries! Everything was great! The customer service was really nice! If we go back to NY, we plan to come here again! Thanks for the delicious food!
Absolutely delicious. I got the fried tofu and broccoli. 5.50 for a “small” but this was two meals for me. Comes with rice. As a chinese person who eats rice almost every meal, I have to say their rice is notably good, tender and perfectly cooked...also everyone there seems happy, so they are friendly.
This business has been a family favorite for years. They may not be on any delivery app and accept cash only, but they know what they are doing! Never got a dish here that we disliked. Anything in their garlic sauce is delicious. Their chili oil is worth a try for the condiment enthusiasts.
The food tastes bland. The dumplings were not good. They used way too much flour and did not put a lot of chicken inside. It tasted really bland. The spicy beef fried rice tasted bland too. They use to taste good like four or 5 years ago. No clue what happened to the taste of their food. I was disappointed to say the least.
This is my go-to spot for the absolute best fried chicken wings, period. Im sure everything else is excellent, judging by the level of business. And their shrimp rolls have bits of ginger in them👍👍👍👍Absolute courteous, and friendly service, as well. Great eats, and inexpensive.
So I go the pick up my $17.00 order of 6 Chicken Wings and Broccoli with Brown Rice. Hand cashier $20.00 Bill and he snatches it from me.I thought to myself relax! Do not get upset then he places my change on counter!.Very nicely I asked he place my change in hand which was done..The Chicken was too Salty! The Broccoli was not fresh! And the brown rice was hard as a rock!.I will fry my own chicken and boil my own rice before I pay $17.00 of my hard earned money for poor food and disrespectful Customer Service.
A Muslim friend of mine introduced me to this Chinese restaurant, a traditional take out spot with really great food at reasonable prices. They are very efficient, you order and they give you a number based on the menu you ordered from. The food is ready in minutes unless you have a big order. The kitchen is visible and clean. Staff have masks on and friendly. A cheap and filling meal halal style. Btw, all of the condiments are in front, take as much as you like, just be courteous.
FAKE RICE! Whoever is saying the food is good here is LYING! I lived in the area for years and the quality of the food has been declining rapidly. Two weeks ago, I ordered tofu with broccoli and white rice. Couldn’t even swallow it. The rice was like plastic, got stuck in my chest and my teeth wouldn’t break down the tofu. I had to drink a coke to push the food down. Threw it away. Terrible. It’s time to shut this place down. Beware. Fake rice!
Ive been going here since the 90s. I only eat Chinese from here, no hyper local spots. Last few times, the food was mushy and bland. Hadnt had it in months, got Orange Chicken with brown rice today late afternoon. It was great! Crispy pieces and moist on the inside, great orange flavor, Spicy pepper and sweet flavored sauce. Maybe the food sucked last few times because I go so late.
In all honesty they deserve 3.5 stars. The staff is great. Very caring and nice. They make sure you are satisfied with your order. Plus they will throw in extra utensils and condiments. The portion sizes are good too. However when it comes to taste some of their items can taste quiet bland. So its a hit or miss kind of situation. Youll enjoy some items. Others not so much.
The food has never tasted the same ever since the old owner moved to 18th Avenue. I lived down the street from halal kitchen and have been a fan of their food years ago, No pork halal kitchen was originally a family business from two generations. It wasnt until last weekend that I found out the old owner moved to 76 st 18th Avenue. The place was completely refurnished. The old owner told me that they needed to expand their dine-in services in a bigger place. Their food are still top notch and a must try!!
If youre looking for a place with traditional Chinese cooking but without the worry of finding a morsel of swizzle on your fizzle(thats Swine and Fork for the ebonically challenged, popping up in your vegetable fried rice or worse. Try No Pork Halal Kitchen. The food is flavorful the workers are clean and courteous.
I used to brag and cheer for this halal chinese restaurant like Yeah this is the best in NYC the best tasting food......I was absolutely WRONG!Just please trust me Ive been going here since the 90s. I can tell you that the food was way better. Now Im experiencing half cooked food from this restaurant. Sometimes I can taste the chicken being stale, old or just really bad. Im pretty sure they dont take care of the meats. I was also informed that they by very cheap quality of meat and sell it to the community. Thats very deceitful. Not going to lie but if you order some dishes steamed youll be better off and theyre skimpy with the shrimp.
You can tell this restaurant is a neighborhood favorite. The home pictures on the wall, the constant traffic of people ordering, the trusting all-you-can-take condiments you can grab up in front. Fresh delicious food made to order! It doesnt need to look fancy because its a diamond in the rough.
We recently visited NYC with one of our children in order to get them set up in the City for their first year of college. My wife booked a great little airbnb close to the Barclay Center. Our last night in town was pretty quiet, after a long day and incredibly long weekend. We knew that we would be saying goodbye to our child for the foreseeable future so we just wanted to order in and relax at the airbnb. After searing google for a few minutes, No Pork Halal popped up. So, we gave it at try. We placed an order, walked to the store front (no, minimal seating - pretty much pick-up only), paid and grabbed our meal in less than 30 minutes (including walking time). For the price, the meal was excellent. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive. The place was packed with people (always a good sign) picking up to go orders. So, if youre looking to feed your family at a reasonable price and you love quick-pick Chinese food, then this is your place. If you want pork fried rice, however, youre out of luck. We went for the chicken and were satisfied!
The food was absolutely delicious! The best halal Chinese food Ive had in a while. We had a big order for 7 people so it took about 20-30 minutes to prepare, but I imagine a shorter wait time for those who are by themselves. There isnt much room for sitting and enjoying your meal, so I would suggest to plan for a takeout. If you want to grab some quick Halal takeout of Chinese food, Id definitely recommend this spot.
Great spot for neighborhood Chinese takeout. They do a great job with the classics - General Tso chicken, veggie or chicken fried rice, chicken dumplings are all great. Huge menu, they have any and every Chinese dish you could want (obviously minus pork). Good prices, great value, friendly service. Highly recommend!
I have been a loyal customer for over ten years. But lately the quality of the food has fallen dramatically! The last draw was a $15 pile of mushy broccoli with a couple peices of greasy meat and shrimp at the bottom. Please see the pic i posted. Very nasty. I live 30 minutes away so it went in the trash. I hope they change back to how they were. I didnt mind paying a little extra for better food than regular places, but when i have to pay premium prices for .... nasty mush Im done.
Its a great place, my complaint is, there was 1 time I went for lunch for take out, and the food, it was not fresh. The General tso Chicken tasted old, the red sauce was dry. But Other times, I have no complaints. Over all pretty good. Just make sure before you leave that everything looks good.
This used to be my late mothers favorite. It has lost its touch. The food is now tasteless and mediocre. Who in their right mind adds water chestnuts to Egg Foo Young? So disappointing 😣😔😔☹️ The fried chicken wings were old and recycled. Considering their turnaround, there is no reason to not have freshly cooked as they used to. Everyone is still pleasant, but the food left so much to be desired--like the good ol days when their food was worth the travel.
Been coming here since the late 90’s. It is alwaysss packed. The food used to be really good back in the day but I’ve noticed the quality go down in recent years. Not sure if they’ve had a change of management but it doesn’t taste the same. Nevertheless, this place is a local favorite and is consistently busy.
Food terrible I ordered sesame chicken white meat only crispy and a side order of broccoli light sauce so I received😳 a plate of broccoli tons of cornstarch and Oil disgusting! Chicken taste terrible looks like covered with food coloring garnish with sesame seeds... good service but very cheap quality ingredients used in food! Chinese restaurant improve your standard no longer convenient more like waste of money😣 its not charity. If youre used to eating Chinese fast food apologies your taste buds maybe fried... you wont catch them eating what service to you You are what you eat . We’re learning to make better choices like eating to live stay away from the sesame chicken sauce taste like it came out of a can. details make all the difference
Ok so when I first walked in I wanted to walk right back out, this place is in dire need of a facelift. My friends convinced me to stay and try it out and do I did and did not disappoint. The food is 10times better than any other fast Chinese food spot and cheap price. Definitely would go back.
Talk about INCREDIBLE! I have been visiting this restaurant for over a decade and have yet to be disapointed. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are extraordinarily reasonable. I usually get take out and have a family dinner at home. One block from Atlantic station on the r train side, right in front of the dean and 4th bus stop. You must go.
Remarkable food, producing generation after generation with the same quality. The serve u take away, dine is not available. They have authentic Chinese flavors, tried several other options around the Area but they have taste like u never wanna miss. General Tsao in beef is finger licking
This place has deteriorate over the years. They are very rude and the place is dirty.they cheat you and treat you like dirt, people should stop supporting them for awhile to teach them a lesson.the guy that give you the food has a dirty mouth and always curse at muslims.
I was very excited to try this restaurant after passing it several times and reading the great reviews. I was, however, very disappointed. I ordered the veggies and fried tofu with garlic sauce. And it was mediocre at best. It wasn’t awful, but it could have used much more flavor/seasonings.
Made the two hour trip and have to say Im not sure if it lives up to the hype. The broccoli and chicken didnt taste the best and there was more 🥦 than chicken which was a bummer. The lomaine was fantastic. I probably wont be back here as I have tastier options closer.
Easily a top 3 Halal Chinese food in NYC. Crowded and small but clean space. Their cooking is very professional and authentic to the NYC pallet and the food Is usually low in sodium but high in taste. Been enjoying the food here since 2006! Some of their signature dishes are General Tsos, Kung Pao, Half Chicken with fried rice or white race and gravy and ofcourse chicken or beef with broccoli among many others.
Cant even eat at other Chinese places after eating here. I dont mean to hype it up, but you can instantly taste the quality of the meat. If you cant tell the difference between Coke and Pepsis taste, then you probably wont even notice a difference in taste from other Chinese places
One of the first and best Halal Chinese in New York . Best, tasty halal fried chicken . Ive tried various halal Chinese all around the city but this is the best . Customer service is fineIts mostly good for take out but very limited eat space available. sometimes people order a take out and have to wait on side walk .
Food was amazing, very Arabic style and taste, very tasty but expensive. The small plate costs 10$ but it can feed one person. You can find a majority of cooked meat and chicken the way it is done in the middle east along with tasty rice.Ask for the Arabic bread if you want it on the side.
Been coming here since I was a child (24 now) hands down #1 Chinese spot. Best thing is it’s 100% halal. The general Taos , chicken rolls , hot and sour soup is something I grewUp eating and it’s been the same quality since day 1 ! Def recommend this spot if you’re around
This is one if the best chinese restaurants that Ive been to in nyc. Easily on my top 5 list. The food ALWAYS tasyes so good and fresh. I love yhe fried rice, especially the veggie fried rice because they use bok choy. This is one of the only spots that i actually enjoy trying different menu items because I am never dissapointed. The staff is really nice and ive never had any issues. Best part, they are halal so not one menu item has pork in it. Love it!!!
Seriously I dont know why people are in love with this restaurant! I didnt like the food at all! It was too oily and most of their food is fried so expect an oily food. Maybe the items I tried were not good and maybe they have other good options but I dont know I wasnt comfortable at all. Although its a crowded place with lots of people coming in and out but its not the kind of restaurants I might be suggesting!I dont recommend this restaurant for those who dont like too much oily food.
Very sneaky way of charging customers. The food was good so I wont lower the rating of this popular location but everyone should be aware -- they have an ALL DAY SPECIAL pricing which gives you an egg roll and drink with most meals, BUT, if you dont ask for the special, they will not give it to you and will charge you a higher price. Whats the point of having a ALL DAY special if youre going to charge a higher price unless someone asks for it. The worker even went as far as telling me that its like if you go to a store and dont ask for the sale price, they will charge you full price. Im sorry but any where I go shopping, if somethings on sale, the sale price shows up automatically. Im sure many customers do not know about this but should be made aware. Dont hustle your customers like that with sleezy pricing. They did give me the difference back, but if I didnt say something, I wouldnt of gotten anything.
At first I was like funny Muslim Chinese food ,then I tell my self your name is Fuji and your not Asian..perfect ummm...one orange chicken..please.boom the best orange chicken I ever had...hands down. As Im eating it, I keep telling my self, I really dont think I can eat orange chicken any where else. this is the orange chicken that you see in the pictures. there is love in this dish. I was like my this not what they give me in my borough...from the orange zest .too.every last bite was heavengood job guys.for the love of foodchef fuji.
Great food, really cheap prices, just remember its cash only. They have like 6 signs saying cash only a D my friend forgot to mention that so when I go to pickup my order, I had to run to target nearby and buy a drink for Cashback. Oh also they dont deliver. Id suggest calling ahead to order as sometimes it takes awhile to make your order.
The best chinese food I have had in New York let alone in the United States of America. Its halal so it does the jist but honestly speaking they have an incredbily wide range on their menu. My hubby had introduced me to this spot he had been going there since he was in high school. Definately my go to chinese place for traditional chinese food
I love this place. My new favorite Chinese restaurant. Prior to coming here, I use to eat at Kum Kau on Myrtle Avenue. I recently stopped eating there and I have not found a really good Chinese restaurant ever since. The food & staff at this place are amazing! I recommend to all, you will not regret it.
Best Chinese food for miles by far and they practice strict Halal dietery protocol meaning NO pork or related products. I eat bacon daily and trust me you wouldnt be able to tell they do not use pork because its some of the best cooked most flavorful food I have EVER eaten, period.
This is a piece of American-Muslim history and a throwback to an era when Atlantic Ave was full of Muslim-owned businesses and people would drive hundreds of miles just to shop there to buy fresh kufis, thobes, and hijabs or books. Food is delicious, service is fast, and no pork on the fork for those of us who dont dine on swine or take a swig of the pig.
This is my go to chinese spot since it offers Halal food. its conveniently located near the Atlantic terminal subway stop. They offer a wide variety of dishes from usual to the speciality ones.I think they can improve on their quality a bit more but overall i am pretty satisfied with everytime i have ordered from here and i have been having their food for the last 10+ years.
Asalaamu alkum Chinese Muslims great quick halal Chinese food. Go ahead order wonton there is no pork in them,go ahead have some fried chicken, pork was not fried in the same oil because there is no pork at all in the entire restaurant, its always crowded in the restaurant but it fast considering.Try the coconut shrimps they are amazing.
Best chinese food I have ever tasted, their fried rice and lo mien chow are to die for. If you want my favorite dish, its the fried rice with chicken wings with scallions only. Youll thank me after you finish. Also their chicken nuggets are the best, better than mcDonalds tbh
Speechless... There are simply no words available in the English language to describe the FOOD...Aside from suggesting ONE go for themselves _anything else would be a grave understatement...If you go once I promise WaAllahi you will return on each trip ONE makes to Downtown Brooklyn...

2022-06-18Very fast services with no smile! We order 4 kinds of meals on their menu: fried rice, beef broccoli sauteed, chicken fried noodle and Bourbon chicken wings that cost us 28 bucks. For Asian people who like spicy and rich taste food, those meals were totally disappointed. The chicken wings was too sour and the rest meals definitely tasteless and not even close to the original Chinese ones. I think their cooks need to learn more how to cook the real Chinese food..!The only good thing is, its halal food which is rare to find in NYC.

2022-05-14Like many of the other reviews, I rate this a 5/5 overall. If I were to break it down, in terms of Customer Service, thats a 5/5 as the people were extremely friendly and welcoming. They even showed you a receipt and went over the order to make sure everything is correct. In terms of speed, that is a 5/5. The food was hot and ready and very aromatic. It took no more than 20 minutes and even the ordering process was fast. In terms of food, that was a 5/5. In fact, it has become my new favorite Chinese restaurant! I say this without doubt that youll love this place as well and it is worth every minute traveling to this restaurant. I do would like to say that they only accept cash though.

2021-11-23Hands down my favorite Chinese spot! The food is awesome, Ive had the general tso, chicken with broccoli, and beef with broccoli and all of them are great.Ive done catering with them many times and there service is awesome in addition to the food. Everytime I made a party order they were always ready as soon as I got there to pick it up. They even helped bring it to the car. On top of that they were very considerate when I asked to change up the party order 30 min before and they were super accommodating.I normally dont write reviews but when they filled the party tray of general tso to the top so much that it was bulging out, I had to share my appreciation. I really hope this review gets them more business because they definitely deserve it. Keep in mind I live in Queens, almost in long Island and I still make trips to Brooklyn just for their food. Ill post better pics next time I go.

2021-06-11Always great to come here. They’ve been doing a fantastic job of serving halal Chinese food for the entirety of my life. They’re very hospitable and very sweet people. I appreciate them always being so nice! The food quality is fantastic, the best Chinese food in all of Brooklyn.

2021-04-06The food here is great and definitely value for money. It has both Malaysian/Singaporean style Chinese dishes and standard American Chinese dishes. Not a big fan of American Chinese but this place does that quite good as well.

2021-04-17The place had 10 ppl working in kitchen and 2 cashiers and none of them were standing still even for a minute during my 15 mins wait there. The food was okay bland, there are better Chinese spots in city which I’ve tried.

2019-05-05Amazing place to purchase food, very clean and friendly environment. My first time there was today and it was super busy with lots of people inside. It didnt take long to place an order, they have a huge selection of food, especially a few items you wouldnt get elsewhere. I ordered the lunch special general tso chicken with fried rice that came with a drink, also I also ordered a shrimp roll and another cocacola soda. Its a cash only venue where my total was $10.00, I recieved a reciept, and a ticket number of my order. I spent 8 minutes waiting for the food to be prepared and the cashier remembers who orders what and lets you know as soon as its ready. This place has great prices and gives their customers lots of food for their $$, no matter how little or much they spend! I think this is a perfect place that sells great food who gives you quality and quantity for the right price!

2019-09-02Faithful halal Chinese place - one of the few rare ones that exist - this place is a diamond for halal eaters like me.I’ve only had their orange chicken which I’ve really enjoyed. I do wish they could add more broccoli to it. They serve it with rice. I also have had their vegetable fried roll which is quite yummy when hot. They have some indian items on their menu too as well as a fair amount of sea food. Keen to try the other stuff. Keep it up!
