The menu with its confusing mix of Polish and American food tries a little too hard to please everyone. Having said that, however, Ive always been satisfied with everything I have ordered there. The tables are WAY too close together. I get a little tired of people bumping into the back of my chair and apologizing.
I drive by this place all the time they have very limited hours. Veterans Day is my birthday me and my daughter I decided to come I’m so glad I did the staff is Amazing, The homemade soup great, and it’s the first time in a long time that daughter ate most of her meal write down to the desert it was absolutely amazing I will be back Hear many times.
We decided to stop in this evening for a relaxing dinner. Two of us ordered the pork chop dinner with a baked potato and grilled zucchini and one ordered the Polish platter that included polish sausage, pierogi, kapusta and stuffed cabbage roll. The pork shop was about an 1 1/4” thick and was grilled perfectly...juicy and melted in your mouth. We agreed it was the best chop we ever had. The baked potato was done perfectly as were the veggies. All this was accompanied by a basket of warm bread. The service was outstanding....our server was very attentive but not overly so.All in all, we agreed this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had!If you haven’t tried this place, you owe it to yourself to do so. You won’t be disappointed.
Food was fantastic! Everything is made fresh and from scratch. The pizza was delicious and the kids mac and cheese was made on the spot with real cheese. The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. The servers all were polite and attentive. Earns its five star rating!!
We had fried fish dinners tonight, with a choice of sides, mix and match. Very excellent fish and sides, prompt service, a well poured cocktail and incredibly reasonably priced. Always happy to go to this local place. Love their flat breads and if you love fried bologna, they have that too.
This is a great new restaurant here in East Aurora. Stopped by with my wife for dinner and was very happy with everything. The food is excellent, everything that was served was really good. Staff is very friendly and you can tell they like what they do. Met John Davidson the owner and executive chef. Stopped by our table and chatted for a minute and you could tell hes enjoying his new restaurant.Stopped by again a few days later for lunch and the same thing. Had one of the specialty burgers and the bun was home made and the burger was fat and juicy! Make no doubt about it, this place rocks! My new favorite place!
I had a daily special, a turkey avacado salad, very tasty, lots of fresh bacon, nice mixed greens. My husband had the polish sausage sandwich with kraut, he said the roll was amazing. I had water, he had coffee, bill was $29, I didnt know my salad was $15/wasnt told cost when special described . Food took almost 30 minutes, didnt seem crazy busy. Food was good, service good, I thought a bit pricey for a salad and sandwich, not in a hurry to return.
So Ive had great food and some Id pass on for seconds. Service is good. They are always busy. Last visit was a table of 5. Most said it was ok but 2 stated the food was too salty. Prime rib sandwich is awesome! Not always available though. I will try again as we all have off days.
I would recommend highly this restaurant. Had lunch at the restaurant a few days ago for the first time and it was very good. We had the special cauliflower gouda soup, BLT salad and chicken caprese sandwich with fires. All were very tasty, fresh, good portion size and reasonably priced. Also the place was clean. cozy and the waitress was very nice. They are open for lunch and dinner. Definitely going back to try other selections. I am pretty sure this will become our main dining place.
After reading the review in the Gusto section of the paper, I was anxious to try the Northstar. My sister in law and I went to lunch there this afternoon and I am extremely happy we did. The server was friendly and prompt with everything we ordered. The mushroom, wild rice soup was excellent. I had the prime rib sandwich and my sister in law had a chicken salad. They gave big portions of food, so delicious. The Polish selections are offered for dinner after 4 pm. I want to return for some of those. We relaxed with coffee after the lunch, very impressed.....my new, favorite place.
I love little taverns like North Star. They make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside with that small town rural feeling. It’s a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the 9 to 5.The food is your standard WNY tavern fare with some Polish touches that were pleasant surprises. The house wine was a fair price with a solid pour.I will definitely be back again and this time, with friends!
AMAZING!!! We had them cater a large funeral luncheon (150 people) for us this past weekend and everything was absolutely perfect. The food, the setup, their professionalism, all were a 10 out of 10. Cant say enough how grateful I am for Joyce and Tim and their team who helped us with this difficult event.
The food, service, and prices are the reason for a five star rating. We went on a Friday night which was super busy for the fish fry. Had a bison burger and the spinach dip. Both were great and it seemed like the ingredients were very fresh. I will be going here again.
I am sorry to say we were very disappointed. I ordered the flatbread pizza which was nothing more than a soggy, undercooked frozen pizza. It even had the cheap fake pepperoni. My husband had the fish fry that was small and not crispy. The atmosphere was quaint and the wait staff was pleasant. I wish them well in the future.
I ordered the strip steak medium well but it was red in the middle, I sent back, the waitress totally agreed the steak was way underdone. At the end, the owner told the waitress to make sure I get a free dessert. She said he always does that when there is a mistake. As far as I am concerned that kind of customer svc is a rarity nowadays so I was impressed. The steak was good quality.
I was disappointed AGAIN, after returning for more than a year, at the lack-luster salad I ordered. Romaine lettuce with bits of bacon, a couple of cherry tomatoes and a couple of croutons. No cheese, not enough dressing, and no bread or crackers. And that for $9! I stopped visiting the restaurant a year ago after receiving several disappointing fish fries and salmon salads made with canned salmon. For the first year they were open everything was great but they got lazy, skimped on meals and excellence and forgot their dining public. There are too many great restaurants in the area to dine at for anyone to want to return.
Surprisingly quaint little place for a special event such as a baby shower. The only thing I find a little odd is the toilet in the ladies room is just about on top of the door as you enter it seemed to whoever designed the room couldnt figure a better layout??? Not really that big of a deal but I just found a little odd and thats my only complaint other than that the food was good.
Made reservations for 6 four days in advance. When we arrived they said we do not have reservations. After some investigating they discovered my reservation was put on the wrong day. The two reception girls said they would fix it but it wasnt their fault. We waited an hour. Finally, we walked out and went down the road to the American Grill. This is the second time Ive had to walk away from this place. The receptionists are inept and apathetic. Dont risk ruining your evening...pick another place.

2022-06-17Great food, staff and atmosphere. Ordered the half fish fry ($11) and got quite a bit of food and it included German potato salad. Since Ive moved to Florida, its been years since Ive had German potato salad, but it tastes just like how my grandma makes it.

2022-03-23Absolutely fabulous food. The polish soups are homemade, you can tell that there are no mixes used and no shortcuts taken. The Reuben was hands down one of the best Ive had, and the polish Reuben was also phenomenal.Service was a little slow with as empty as the place was, but bartender / waitress was very friendly.

2022-06-04This is one of the hidden gems of Elma. I have never had a bad meal or experience here. I would highly recommend it, even though it means longer waits for a table for me. Delicious!

2022-03-11Sad to say I wasnt impressed with the fish fry. Texture was great, but it lacked flavor. The sides were homemade and good. My friend had the polish platter, and she said it was delicious.

The Polish platter is terrific! Try the Pork Chop ! My wife’s favorite dish is the Buka teeny pasta with shrimp , it’s all she ever gets
