Horrible and unsanitary facility with absolutely rude staff. My father died at this nursing facility on June 11th. They claimed they found him unresponsive in the bathroom alone. He shouldn’t have been alone because he literally CANNOT WALK. He has a wheelchair. We were not able to see him since March due to the COVID restrictions. When we went to the facility to speak to staff, the “director of nursing” Annette Fearon was EXTREMELY rude and defensive and did not want to provide much answers. She was condescending and did not even want to help us. She lacked compassion and respect to a family who just lost their loved one at their facility. They refused to autopsy his body and declared their own cause of death. They refused to give us answers. WARNING!! Please do not bring your loved one here. This facility provides INCOMPETENT care and LACKS concern for the well-being of their patients.
This place is a joke !! long story short my brother was treated like a animal , he laid in his own feces and urine for two days i would called staff to check on him as he was not answering his cell phone i was told he was resting and he was OK ., i got there 7 am in the morning aboveis how i found him not to mention his garbage can was full of flies and his dinner tray was still there from the night before( i have pictures by the way ). . Staff claims they checked him at 3 am (lairs or i would not of walked into what i saw ). I had to have them call the ambulance to have him taken to the hospital believe me if i did not show up they would have NEVER called them at all !!! . It ended up my brother had a stroke and a blood clot exploded in his lung ,And we are suppose to feel safe leaving our loved ones with theses people NOT !!!! , Hey Staff just because you hold a certificate doesnt mean you deserved it and does not give you the right to treat people like that if you are to lazy to work QUIT and actually hire people that do care , i do not want to give them any stars but i cant post till i do so i lied, you do not deserve any !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After major emergency surgery my father was transferred to Northern Manor in Nanuet, NY. He was being weaned off of the Ventilator at the hospital. Some how the facility didnt receive the memo because he was placed back onto the ventilator the entire time he was there. I made repeat attempts to explain to nurses that he was being weaned off the vent and should not be on it all day. They lied to me and said it was doctors who made the decision for him to be on ventilator. nearly 7 days after he was admitted, he had not been evaluated. Nurses lied to me about his condition and his need to be on the ventilator. This facility is a complete nightmare. Nurse and aides are rude and dont like to be asked any questions. Not informative very unprofessional and have no name tags! You dont know who is who. Respiratory specialist did not have name tag. who works the nightshift, she is rude and does not administer treatment to patient with love and compassion. Her approach with my father was in a barbaric manner. The facility is extremely dirty. Rooms look depressing! Staff there lacks compassion and respect for family and patient. During the nightmare experience my father didnt have his feedings provided properly. Nurses failed to administer the feedings with hydrating fluid. this in turn led my father into the hospital with horrible abdominal pains. Aides always seem to be on break sitting around in the hallways. Call bells dont seem to work. This facility proves high level of incompetence and is not equipped nor professionally capable of facilitating anyone especially ventilated patients! Facility is very unkept and is very dirty.
My sister was transferred here a few weeks ago. She complained some of the aides were mean to her, the railing on the bed broke because of a loose screw & she fell out of bed. Then go too it all off she contracted coronavirus here(like to know how that happened!), transferred to a hospital & died a few days later. Dont use this home!
Northern Manor has such life and spirit. We live at Northern Manor. Our residents are an extremely highly intelligent population even our memory care unit that enable us to provide life and enrichment programs. The residents make my job easy and a pleasure to come to work everyday to be with them. I have a long commute to get to work but it is worth every minute.
Having been in other rehabs, I can truthfully say that this one is by far the best. First and foremost is the attitude which is to encourage patients, especially in physical therapy rather than crack the whip over them. Im so thankful to have spent 2 weeks here while I healed.
I’m very upset, how I found out what happened to my lil cousin in this place. All of her years working here. The manager terminated her for no apparent reason, he did not applied the same rules, for other staff, he constantly harrashed her about uniform and other rules he did not applied to others, which the company Supplies for her that has not yet given it to her. my little cousin has been faithfully workin here for a couple years since 2016 I believe. I’m very close to my litttle cousin, and I know she’s a very hard worker, residents, and other employees enjoy her hard work, and existence. Also found out some staff, spreaded untrue rumors about her, I feel management told other employees about her being so called “fire”. This is a workin environment, no way some should be treated like that in a Nursing Home. I’m very upset that an female employer spreaded lies about my lil cousin on proven text messages, my cousin asked her Y did she spreaded those lies. The So called adult who’s older then her that’s acting like a child, didn’t explain Y but gave nothing but excuses.
This facility is dirty, dingy, and food is mush. My father in law was left in the hallway for 6 hours with no way of moving himself and unable to speak loudly to get anyones attention. They left him covered in pasta and pasta sauce on a different occasion. They left him with food in front of him that he couldnt open on his own. Only reason for two stars is because of the speech and physical therapists have been very helpful. when it comes to living conditions its disgusting ..
I work for life alert and this is the worse place. I’ve had a patient called numerous times and she never gets the care she needs. A patient male came in her room half naked and ate your dinner then tried to take her wheelchair away. Supervisor Emily stated she was there and all she said when I called her was “he was very agitated”. So I would NEVER send a loved one here.
Staff are all mostly friendly and have good attitude. physical therapy is very encouraging and helpful . building and rooms are always clean. Tai chi is every week and exercises with activities are daily which are good for health. food could better and tastier and cell signal in some spots is spotty but landline in room always works.
Northern Manor is like a SECOND HOME to me because the RESIDENSTS, RECREATION STAFFS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR are very NICE . Everytime I do my SENIOR FITNESS PROGRAM the STAFFS and their DIRECTOR would encourage the RESIDENTSto move and dance with me. WE LOVE TO PARTY WE ARE LIKE FAMILY . NORTHERN MANOR YOU ARE THE BEST!
Here is my experience today with Northern Multicare! I called them to inform them about the overwhelming amount of garbage on the property and kindly asked if someone on the grounds staff would please try to clean it up. The first woman flat out hung up the phone. The second time I called..the woman told me to MOVE if it bothered me that much...and then proceeded to ask ME if my home was neat and up to code etc etc...WOWnever in my life have I been treated like that. I say Northern does not give a flying**** about anything...clearly not the Environment...SHAME ON YOU NORTHERN MULTICARE...WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT...I WONDER
Under staffed under educated cant tell a nurse from a custodian ! The most lazy people i have ever seen. Spends more time B.S. ing then taking care of patients. Never gives Meds out a regular schedule or checks on patients on a regular basis .Might as well just pull the plug if you send anyone there......
My husband Jeff Thomas was there from Jan 2018 to Nov 9th 2018 he had end stage copd that place is dirty the nurses barely checked on him i sat there several time thru night and saw them do nothing unless I asked for him or he didThey had attitudes lazy and I even saw some nurses sleeping in hallway they mixed up information regarding my husband death how ans when some thing is very fishy about this place and I hope u dont send ur loved one there
My family and I are very grateful for this center, my father was an intern for 3 months in this place, we were always in communication with the nurses, they always maintained a very good attitude throughout this time, always with an answer for us. We have no words to express how grateful we are. He is very happy with the recreational people, the therapists for their good treatment with him. He even danced bachata with one of the therapists named Iris. Thank you so much for all your help. My father Mariano Brito thanks all of you for everything. He came to that place tubed and they worked hard to get him back home with us. Hes been home for a month now and were very happy.Att: Santa Brito

2022-02-16I know its hard to believe what people post up, but please know that this is truly true. My mother is on a ventilator since Nov 8, where she had a trake, feeding tube put in. My mother went to another rehab, which was horrible (they gave her the wrong food and she choked). My mother was rushed to Good Sam, where it was an excellent hospital. I was so nervous, searching other places for my mother to get respiratory rehab. My mother has been at Northern Manor for 2 weeks. The staff at this place have been absolutely amazing. The respiratory team, therapy, nurses, nurse director, aides, and everyone in the building has been pleasant, loving, and compassionate. They have been accommodating, as I am a New York City Teacher and need extended visiting hours. My mother is my best friend and she deserves nothing but the best. Yes, nothing is perfect in life, but this place has done a great job so far. Thank you to all the staff at Northern Manor and please keep up the great work you all do.

2021-12-23Beware of these glowing reviews! I am not sure where they are coming from but there is no way this is a five star place. This was a terrible place for my mom. The communication is horrible. Its like you sent your loved one to prison. When we first brought her here we would call to get updates. On hold forever could never get a nurse to respond. Mom has dementia and is not verbal we would visit and and she was filthy and clothes were not changed. Finally one visit we noticed she had drooping in the mouth and she could not move her hand. she had clearly suffered a stroke. We requested an ambulance to take her to the hospital. No one had noticed her state. If we had not come for that visit I am sure no one would have called us. We have since moved her to another facility where she gets better care. We never received a call from management or anyone else to follow up after her stroke. Terrible place!

2022-01-05Do not specs a return phone call no matter what the reason you’re calling is! If you visit your loved ones every day or every other day and you make your opinions known expect to be told you’re visiting too often and you can only visit once a week! And when they leave make sure you take all of their items with you because you will be told that everything is going to be sent home with the patient in the mobile transport however it will not be! And when you call to question where these items are you will get the runaround. At least I did for three months until I finally gave up. I have a feeling they kept this medical equipment that was supposed to be sent home with my mother and they sold it to other patients or a worker of the facility just took it! I don’t know why else they would want somebody else’s medical helmet, personalized bedding and pajamas with my mothers name on it. I would only send her back if I had absolutely no other choice!!

2021-12-02My sister was recently transferred to this facility, I called numerous times to see how she was doing also to speak with her . I was hung up on five times while on HOLD. I finally got someone who wouldnt give her name, while trying to transfer me I was disconnected again. This is the most un professional communications system I ever had to deal with ........ They sound so UN caring and rude.... This place definitely needs to be INVESTIGATED the State

2021-07-10If I could give them negative stars I would. My wife is currently. Unfortunately, this was the only place that could accommodate to her and her needs. She recently had back surgery and got shipped here. The staff is beyond subpar. The nurses make her wait, laying in her own feces for an hour and then later the same day, left her for 2 + hours ( yes, hours) waiting for water and help from a nurse. The moment she got wheeled in, they showed their true colors by starting this up right away. I feel like the worst husband in the world for not being able to just pull her out of there. If Hell is a real place, this place is your training grounds.

2020-09-22My 75 year old Father-in-law was at Northern Manor for rehab for a few weeks and I am very happy to say that he had an excellent experience. Everyone was very kind and caring, the rehab team was great and the food was very good. The recreation team went above and beyond to keep everyone entertained. I’m very thankful to all the staff for taking such good care of him. Kudos to all of you!

2020-09-25I’m very pleased to be working at Northern Manor Multi-care Center !! So much good to say that I can’t say it all .. with 28 yrs in my healthcare career of Occupational Therapy, I will say that it is a seamlessly run facility between each department and up to administration. The staff here mesh together so well and it shows through the care provided to our residents every day. Good communication as well as rapport are always key factors between our team, that including management and administration. I can honestly say that I love my job and I feel appreciated!!

Staff all know me some by name even. we sometimes go to the concerts together and they are nice. My mom is happy hes in the right place and not too far from where we live so we can visit.

2019-03-21I am very disappointed with the services that were provided to my grandmother. Northern Manors staff is not respectful nor efficient. When visiting my grandmother on numerous occasions she was left sitting in soiled (feces) sheets and gowns. She smelled, wasnt properly cleaned and the sores she acquired while being there werent properly treated. When speaking to the staff and voicing my concerns, I was brushed off or told I or we just cleaned her!. The facility is understaffed, the staff is not properly trained and my loved one wasnt treated with the respect or care she deserved. Its very disappointing and sad. No individual should be mistreated or ignored.

2019-03-02This place is a horrible place to work. They can write you up and suspend you based on hear say. The administrator does not respect females. He ignores and disregards everything a female has to say and does not treat females fairly. This job takes 1 month to give me my raise and then after they gave me a raise had the manager harass me and threaten to write me up because of other peoples work. The FSD is unprofessional he makes unwanted gestures to females and threatens a sickly female to work beyond what she is capable of , resulting in her crying. This place has no compassion towards employees with sickly family members and write people up for calling out sick do to it. It is a evil place to work at and it is all about money and they treat their workers terrible. They also plan to remove soup and bread from the residence to save money and give them broth mean while they are paying for their service. People should not benefit from people in a nursing home because they end up wanting to save more and more money and give residence the bare minimum and it isnt right. Someone with compassion needs to be in charge.
