Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care in other cities:
Everyone I came in contact with was pleasant, polite, knowledgeable, and informative. I didnt have an appointment, but when I explained why it was important for me to get tested that day, they worked me Im. I am very appreciative. I have already recommended this urgent care to several people.
Unbelievably rude, unhelpful and clueless front desk. Ms. White failed to register me for my pre-booked covid appointment for over 25 minutes while the other desk person sent in a patient whose appointment was 22 minutes after mine. I questioned their operations and her unhelpful attitude (they sent me links prior to appointment to register for it but their system was down so I could not logon and when called in was advised to turn as they could do it at the location), she had no good response so started accusing me of being disrespectful and said I need to leave, refusing me service after almost an hour wait. I have a 4 month old baby and had to arrange for care to turn up for this appt so refused to leave until a manager can speak to me but ofc they had nobody on-site. After a long wait and a lot of arguing a nicer more reasonable staff (Aliyah) came to help, registered and sent me in. I’d been here in the past and went smoothly but will not be returning after this experience especially as CityMD is 5 steps away!
I visited about an hour before they closed. The provider was busy but other doctors and nurses saw me quickly for intake information, the provider treated me professionally, and referred me to a local ER with information about what to ask for. The whole issue was resolved within an evening because of the quick service. Would definitely recommend!
Good luck trying to get someone on the phone at this place. The ladies at the front desk sit there on their personal calls but cant pick up the phone for patients even when the place isn’t busy at all. I’m not sure what is the purpose of having front desk staff when patients have to register themselves and they dont answer phones either. So I am clueless as to what is their function there.
I went to Lincoln center urgent care today in hopes to be checked out after having been sick and received horrible customer service treatment from one of the front desk women. She told me I couldn’t get checked out at their urgent care as my sickness had started too long ago and said I needed to go to a hospital emergency room. I knew I did not need that and tried to reason with her. She was extremely rude and unpleasant. As I was not allowed to sign in to see a doctor at this urgent care I went to City MD on west 57th street instead where I was treated with professionalism and curtesy. I saw a physician who checked my vitals and I was able to explain my symptoms and ask questions. My vitals were good and received mucus relief medication and a referral to schedule an appointment with a pulmonary doctor within the next few weeks. Not an urgent matter needing emergency room care. I’ll never go to Lincoln center urgent care again.
UPDATE! - June 2022!!!! They did it again. I was billed for an Urgent Care visit when I simply went in for a COVID-19 test. I did not ask for or receive any type of medical attention/physical exam. I was swabbed for the PCR test and provided results. Thats it. This is the second time this has happened. This bill is from an August 2021 visit and Northwell has already received $225 from my insurance company for this visit. Beware and read your bills. I called the billing department and was told the issue would be escalated and to ignore the bill. I also, emailed the billing department. The fact that they are so willing to have me ignore the expenses, makes me think this is not an isolated incident. Again, BEWARE if you are using this company for any type of Covid testing.BEWARE - billing scam. I went in for a COVID-19 test, which was completely covered by my insurance, but then Northwell Health charged me a new patient fee. I went here, because they took appointments for COVID testing. I have a primary care physician and was not seeking medical care, just a COVID-19 test. I have no idea why they charged me a new patient fee, as I made it clear when I checked in that all I wanted was a COVID-19 test. I have tried calling and also sent an email to their billing department to get the charges cleared. During my visit, I wasnt examined or given any sort of medical care. Someone took my temperature and blood pressure and then my nose was swabbed and that was it. So, if this is the quality of their new patient medical care, go someplace else. If you want a COVID-19 test, there are other places that take appointments and are free. Beware!!UPDATE - so its been 2 weeks and I wrote to the email address provided below and still have not been contacted by anyone to help resolve this issue.
Amazing staff, very easy check in and great nurse/doctor! I went to citymd first and was told they couldn’t see me and to try Northwell. This was a much better experience, great staff, barely any wait time considering this was 5 pm in a Friday. Overall great experience from beginning to end!
LOCATION: 199 AMSTERDAM AVENUE: If you have a child with special needs, stay clear of this place. Today I took my disabled daughter to this urgent care and was denied service for my daughter who was in pain because the front desk did not know how to handle her particular insurance which is issued by the Social Security administration, an insurance that is listed on their website and the same insurance they accepted two months ago, which they billed and were paid for services. An inept front desk is detrimental for business as well as for patients who need care. I write this review with great pain in my heart. Ive seldom had my child be treated so poorly and as the parent of a child with special needs, not being able to have access to needed medical care for a kid that lacks verbal expression makes me so sad, and makes me believe there is little hope to be found in this world. I mean if you cant find compassion in a medical institution, then were can you find it. Are you practicing medicine, are you healing or are you just another money hungry corporation? I should also mention that I was never given the option to see a doctor and be billed for services if indeed the insurance did not cover said bill. Maybe I didnt have the right look. Maybe I looked too poor to pay a bill.
My six-year old son got a two-hour PCR test for covid to clear him for going to the Nutcracker, and surprisingly got a positive result. Three days and three more PCR tests later (all negative) it turned out to be a false positive, and was ruled as such by an epidemiologist from NYS Department of Health. After the initial positive result, the doctor at the Northwell urgent lectured and tried to shame my wife when she suggested getting another test to confirm. She said that my son and his sister must isolate for ten days and not even leave the apartment to go in the hall, let alone outside or the park. She said we must not get a second test because it would put health care workers at risk. When we went for confirming PCR tests (one at Manhattan Valley Pediatrics and two at LabQ) we were upfront about having gotten a positive result, and neither place was concerned or hesitated to do another test. The consequences of the positive test multiplied across all the families of the kids two schools, and classmates were kept at home until they could get their own test results. How many other false positives are coming out of this Northwell location, or other testing sites? Their bullying about not getting a confirming test could be causing any number of families to suffer silently without finding out whether they are really infected or exposed.
The staff and provider were awesome. They were so sweet, and even offered to let me borrow scrubs and an umbrella due to the heavy rains. It was the best medical treatment and bedside manner Ive received in a very long time. Your kindness reinvigorated my passion to go into medicine. Thank you all so much!
There were two wonderful ladies there to greet us at the front desk. Cristine and Aneea made our experience pleasant instead of scary... thanks for having great professionals up front ! These girls deserve a raise, they made my husband and I very comfortable and safe in an uncertain environment.
1) If you are looking for a quick turnaround, please don’t come to this location. It’s not worth the risk especially you have traveling plans! They promised that rapid PCR usually takes 2 hours. It’s been 6 days and I haven’t received any result from my test.2) Also the front desk rarely picks up the phone here. When I tried to ask staff questions in person, I got cut off without being able to finish a sentence.3) Your appointment time doesn’t mean anything. There was an elderly patient who waited to get tested for 1.5 hours even if she made an appointment. The front desk then forgot they checked her in already.Highly recommend GoHealth on 1st Ave in UES. They are friendly, competent, and efficient.
The worst experience ever at an urgi care. The front desk staff is unknowable and has an attitude. As a walk in, I received a text message stating my waiting time would be 5.5 hours. When I asked if that was accurate, I get a lecture about how I should register online rather than a yes or no. I’ve gone to this site for years and the commitment to patient experience is knot reflected in their front desk staff.
Went today at the urgent care clinic on West 69 st location. First impression, it was packed, very busy, but the front desk was on top of their game and I only waited for about 40-45mins which was a decent wait time considering that their system was down.Front desk/MA assisted me to the exam room and in about 10-15mins, PA came in. First off, he didnt even introduce his name when he came to the room and just literally asked what was my main complaint (which was kind of off to start with) and told him my symptoms. He then ordered a strep throat rapid test to confirm if I had any infection on my throat. First test, it tested negative. I was almost 100% certain that all I needed was antibiotics to get myself treated, but Mario Santiago (the PA) insisted that I had viral pharyngitis. Then I told him to repeat the test, second testing was done, it tested positive. The PA knocked on the door and immediately asked for my pharmacy without even discussing the results with me in private. He then gave me a wrong pharmacy location and told him that this was the right pharmacy location that I intended. The PA was ready to discharge me and just automatically assumed to not talk to his patient with regards to the medication, results, and discharge instructions which I find so UNPROFESSIONAL.When this PA almost misdiagnosed me with viral pharyngitis, that was already alarming, but to not explain to your patient what happened with the said results and what-not is beyond unethical and such an embarrassment. To conclude, I would not recommend going to this location and just see your trusted PCP or hospital.
Reducing to one star. My first appointment in early 2020 was fine, however given my last walk in appointment, I will never go back.I severely sprained my ankle (feared it was broken) and wanted to get it checked out. I arrived 20 min. before close and the first receptionist told me they wouldn’t be able to do an X-Ray because the X-Ray tech wasn’t available. Then a different nurse walks over and is trying to convince me to go to Mt Sinai Hospital 11 blocks away. She changes the story and tells me that she is an X-Ray tech but that the machine is broken. I ask to please see the doctor anyway so that he can at least take a look at it. The receptionist tells me “no, it’s not like he’ll have X-Ray vision.”Pretty clear they just wanted me to leave because they were closing soon. Unprofessional. Never again.
Today I had a bad experience with a Rude gentleman at the front desk. I took a picture of the their public electronic board so I could track if I was moving in the electronic line. This person demanded rudely that I “DELETE THE PICTURE, AND I WANT TO SEE YOU DELETE IT”. He claimed it was patient information that was confidential. Never mind that it doesn’t have ANY names, only initials. Stop to think…. Why would confidential patient info be displayed on an electronic board for everyone to see??? ill-informed, unthinking people make everyones experience bad.
I stopped by the office in the afternoon a few days ago and things went smoothly. I registered quickly through my phone and tools they have in the front. I was seen shortly after I arrived and the receptionist, nurse and physician were all pleasant. I had an issue with my ear and the physician helped me learn how to properly treat it. I definitely recommend this place.
I had a great experience here last week. I scheduled a time to come in and they were ready for me with no delays. The staff is welcoming, kind and appear to be efficient. The doctor and nurse were knowledgeable and diagnosed me quickly. I was feeling better by the next day!
Everyone was extremely nice. Quick service. Loved the doctor. However, they charged me for an “advanced visit with a procedure” when i had no procedure done! Since my blood pressure was too low they told me I had to call an ambulance and go to the closest hospital emergency room. They took my temperature and my blood pressure. No medication, no procedure was performed. I called to the billing department and they said that was the rate for my insurance. Which is a lie. They are charging my insurance with an advanced procedure visit that I did not have. Be careful with what they charge you!New York City
They front desk was nice and I got in fairly quickly. The doctor was fine. I came in suspecting I had strep throat. I paid the $120 for the exam and the $25 for the test. It was negative. I paid everything before leaving and forgot about it. A month later, I get a charge on my credit card for $120 from Northwell urgent care. They are double billing. Beware! This isnt the first time they have been accused of this. Watch your credit card bill. Im going to have to fight them to get it reversed. Unbelievable!
Good experience at thus urgent care. we called ahead for wait time (it was much less than the place next door) it did take longer to be seen than they said but still just 40 minutes. front desk was kind and helpful. we filled out or info online ahead of time which I dont think saved us anytime but at least it was taken care of. the doctor was very good and thorough and made me and my infant son feel comfortable.
I have been coming here since it opened for my entire family, having two teen boys means a lot of injuries. They are always so attentive and professional and treat us as if it was a family practice. The wait is never long and the quality of the doctors is excellent. They all go above and beyond to help you get the care you need. Just today, the incredible woman at the front desk found an immediate orthopedic appointment for me that was so helpful. She made it happen. Thank you Northwell
Don’t waste your time.I had an appointment and they had me waiting over an hour for the doctor. The nurse took down my vitals on the cardboard flap of a tissue box. She ripped off the top of the tissue box and asked me to read the number to her as she wrote down the info onto it. It was very strange. They had me waiting so long that they actually were about to close in 5 minutes, and it was very clear the doctor wanted to go home when he finally came in. The exam was a bit of a joke, he did not test me for pneumonia which was why I was there. I was hoping to get an Xray, because my husband has pneumonia and I was warned by his doctor that I should get checked. He seemed to think I was overreacting, and walked in making a comment about me being there because my cat is sick (both my husband and cat have the same bacterial infection). He did an “exam” which lasted about 10 seconds, which seemed more like a performance to pacify me, then said I was fine and sent me home. The whole thing was a joke. Waited this long to have 1 minute with a doctor, and left without even having been actually checked.Would not go back and do not recommend.
I have been going to this location for 4 years and have always received great medical care. Im writing this review because my 5 y old daughter cut two fingers last weekend and the care she received was outstanding. She now calls Adam Box the best doctor ever and thanks to him she didnt need any stitches and her fingers are healing nicely. He took the time to call her pediatrician the next day to explain the whole procedure. My pediatrician was very impressed and confirmed that it was the right call to go to NH-GoHealth Urgent Care instead of the Emergency room. The nurses were wonderful as well, and very good with kids. Thank you!
They started doing both Covid tests and vaccinations and they are having crowds and insufficient staff . The registration process is slow because the staff have a hard time using the software. There is no way you can keep social distances inside the lobby and the nurses are poorly trained. I mentioned the machine showed I had a high blood pressure and she said everyone she had tested had high blood pressure. Dirty aprons and poorly placed masks were significantly worrisome details.
Terrible experience. I went in with flu like symptoms the front desk person said the visit would cost 120.0 and 40.0 if a flu test was done. The exam came and went; the doctor was personable, and said I tested positive and there was nothing to do but have my body fight it off. All well and good. I left and stopped by the desk and the person said I could go, but I reminded her I had the flu test done and had only paid for the 120.00 for the visit. So I waited and paid forty for the flu test. I was told I was all paid up and didn’t owe anything more.A week after this my credit card gets bogus charges left and right. It was a new card and I only used it in the urgent care office. I went to tell them about it and the woman I spoke with just dismissed my concerns about someone in the office using my card info. Two weeks later I get in the mail a bill for another forty dollars. I went into the office with copies of my receipt which showed my charges and that other charges had been crossed out and showed I was all paid up. I showed them to the woman behind the desk and she said, “oh we don’t have anything to do with billing. You have to call the billing office.” I said that I paid what I was told the visit and test would cost. She asked who told me this. I told her the person working the desk that day. And she replied “well how am I supposed to know who that is.” I again pointed to the receipts which showed I was paid up. She said again they didn’t have anything to do with billing. Then she tried to keep the receipts I showed her. I took the receipts back. A doctor came out and without asking or trying to find out what was going on told me they didn’t have anything to do with billing and I would have to leave. This place is horrible and the fact that it’s purpose is to help people feel better is a joke. I intend to contact the state attorney generals office about the fraud practice of saying the bill is one thing and then charging more later on. Unprofessional and uncaring.
The nurse practioner tensin tsepel who took care of me, I am forever grateful for her care. I was in so much agonizing pain and after she took care of me and told me what to take; i felt 90% better that evening. Thank you, thank you thank you. Words cannot express to how she helped me in alleviating what i was going through.
Nothing against the staff here but the institution. In mid March during the height of the pandemic, I had COVID symptoms and called UrgentCare to see if I can get testing. They told me to come right in and I have to do testing. I dragged myself there to do the testing only to be told by the NP to go home because I was young and had no other health issues. No exams were done or anything. A few weeks later I get a bill in the mail to pay for my visit to the amount of $230 out of pocket. I’ve called and emailed to fight this but they just keep ignoring me. Now it’s been 5 months and I emailed billing again to follow up and they tell me that after review, I still have to pay. For what?! For making me come in when I’m sick just to send me home? I’ve asked for a patient medical chart to prove to me a service was provided but no reply... absolute cash grab and taking advantage of the pandemic
Dont bother going here. They are so rude. The attitude is awful.I called on phone and told there was no charge for a covid test. To be sure, I called their Billing office. Their rep said we never, ever charge for a covid test. I even gave my insurance info just to be sure. Again he said we never charge. What a surprise when I went and was asked to pay $75! Guess they call it an Office Visit as a way to make money. I left. The place was empty and as I was leaving a small family came in for covid tests. They said the website said they were taking walk-ins right now.The front desk woman turned them away, despite the website info.Just terrible. The facility wasnt busy at all, but they wouldnt accommodate this small family even tho the mother said she was afraid her 2 children had been exposed. Just stay away from this place that sure doesnt want to help people.
Staff was professional, courteous, and solved my issue. Most grateful. Appreciate having a place to which I can go without burdening the ERThe receptionists Christine and Arnold are exceedingly helpful as are the doctors at the facility on 69th & Amsterdam - the care they provide is exceptional and I, as the patient, am grateful
I went to Urgent Care: this is the first time that I have sought medical care outside my regular doctors offices. The kind and efficient person that greeted me explained how to sign in by entering all my information on my phone. This was a simple and easy process. I was called in within a few minutes after filling out the forms.I saw Adam Box who combines excellent medical training with genuine human compassion. The two dont always go together. He listened carefully, he answered all my questions, and he solved my problem perfectly. I am so delighted to have found this institution just a few blocks from home. (Urgent Care at 199 Amsterdam Avenue).
Best doctor I ever found in NYC. Dr. Adam Box resolved my health issue. Highly focused on patient needs with a great communication skills regarding patient - doctor relationship. If possible I would like to have him as a family or primary doctor . This is a honest doctor, the one most people like and is hard to find. I had allergies due an unknown reason and he was the only one that solved my problem. You have to sign in on your tablet/cell on the spot after filling up some questions on theirs. Waiting time for a walk in was 15 min. The place is cleaned and I recommend it for everyone. There isNo words to thank Dr Adam Box!
Staff and Doctor went beyond usual standards of Urgent Care in providing exceptional service to my 5 year old who was in severe pain. Difficulties in finding a pharmacy to provide needed prescription were surmounted by the doctor getting personally involved with different pharmacists in getting the right medication for her. His efforts were much appreciated.
I am doctor phobic and had the best experience ever at this clinic. The staff was kind and caring. The Doctor took the time to listen to me and his confidence was reassuring. Ulitmately I have a raging sinus infection, He perscribed antibiotics and I am now on the mend. THANK YOU all for making a doctor phobic patient comfortable and relaxed.
I was deciding whether to come here (GoHealth) or go to CityMD for my COVID test and I took a leap of faith and I am so glad that I did. I read some negative comments about CityMD regarding how it was crowded and how it took 10+ days to get the results. The registration process is all done online and it was super easy. When I got there, check in was painless, everyone was extremely friendly and nice, it was not crowded, COVID nasal swab wasn’t bad at all, and I was out within 30 mins. I got my COVID test on Friday and got the results on Sunday so only 2 days went by. I usually don’t write reviews but I figured this will be helpful for people who had the same concerns as me when it came to picking a place to get tested!
Hard Pass - walk across the street and go to CityMD. In advance of my visit I spent 20 minutes chatting with a GoHealth human to make sure I understood the pricing and requirements for getting a COVID and antibodies test. Made very clear what I was looking to do, and very clear on pricing. She offered to make the appt, which I let her. had to wait 3 hours for an appointment (nothing urgent about that), filled out all of the advanced paperwork online, updated insurance, etc. Show up on time, gentleman at the front desk makes me do all of the paperwork and insurance AGAIN, then after all of that tells me they cant do both tests on the same visit. As a medical professional, I know there is only one reason for that: they want to bill two visits, not one. 1) that is grotesque...why should I expose myself twice when there is no clinical reason for it, GoHealth just wants to make more money, and 2) Im so angry the chat rep and this guy wasted so much of my day when they should have disclosed this up front. Ive been using CityMD across the street, thought I would give GoHealth a chance...wont make that mistake again. Worth noting that GoHealth was empty and there were people lined up at CityMD...says something about how the neighbors view them.
My husband visited this urgent care center today he had a 4:23pm appointment and at 5:30pm he asked the young lady behind the desk how much longer because he was in pain. She replied by saying everyone is waiting very rudely and unprofessionally. She tells him she sick of answering the same question. It was only his 1st time asking. But even if it was ten times he asked. It’s his right and she should answer. He then asked her what is her name so that she can make a complaint on her after he told her how rude she was she refused to give her name which is against the law she’s working in a medical office she has no name tag on or anything to identify who she is. She then goes to get another woman .The lady asked my husband what was wrong before he can even get through the first three words of his sentence she says I have other patients and you’re taking me from them.I was on the phone I can hear the whole conversation my husband was also video recording at the same time we have everything that was said and it’s sad that this is a place where sick people go and they can get such rude treatment. And to add insult to injury they wouldn’t even service my husband the security walked my husband outside and apologized for how rude they treated him I will be contacting the state I will be posting this on my social media platform I have a very large social media followingI will put this on YouTube and I may also even call the news this is very unacceptable and unprofessional and rude. I have never in my life been to a medical office that someone would not give their name. I’ve never been to a medical office where people didn’t have a name tag on to identify themselves I’ve never seen that before. You will be hearing from our lawyer! I’m calling the state and the Corporate office
Everything was clean, simplistic, and modern. Everyone in this office that I interacted with was efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. I didnt wait more than 20 minutes to be seen. $150 out of pocket to be seen if they dont accept your health insurance, but you can always submit a claim. Either way, it totally beats the ER. The doctor was extremely friendly and fast. I couldnt write a higher recommendation.
My family and I had positive experiences here in the past, but my last visit can only be described as appalling. As noted in other reviews, the facility is clean and the receptionists are friendly. Unfortunately, the PA I encountered seemed to lack understanding of the concept of customer service as well as of basic pharmacology.Although the waiting room was not teeming with patients waiting to be seen (there were none), the PA appeared to be in a hurry and made a diagnosis before I had provided full context about the problem. In addition to poor listening skills, the idea of a patient asking questions seemed to annoy him. Had we had an opportunity to discuss, he would have learned that I previously had a poor reaction to the medication he wanted to prescribe. What was most concerning though was his response when I asked a question about my medications. Use of a condescending/mocking tone was bad enough but the fact that this tone was used to convey incorrect information was outright alarming. When I saw my MD the next day, she made the diagnosis only after asking questions and ruling out other possibilities. She also advised against taking the therapy that had been proposed by the PA.Should future needs arise, I will invest the energy to walk the few extra feet to the City MD office around the corner. I would recommend others consider doing the same.
Quick Excellent Care!I was sick and not getting better. Not sick enough for emergency room but wanted a quick solution. Walked in and had almost no wait. The doctor provided an excellent diagnosis (which in hinesight I know treatment worked quickly). They took my insurance so 15 minutes and a co-pay later, I was on my way to a quick recovery!
They are the best with my three daughters. They set my daughters broken leg and the orthopedist was very impressed with the job they did. We use them whenever we cant get to our pediatrician and they are extremely professional and easy to deal with. We never have to wait. I highly recommend them!
A comforting place to have in the neighborhood! One drawback: Even though the reception area was empty the week night I visited, it still took 20+ mins for me to see a doctor because apparently only 1 was on staff. I was in pain but it felt like no one was in a rush to provide me relief. I feel a nurse at reception is needed to supply triage &/or priority assessment.
Ever since Northwell took over management, Urgent Care has been top notch. Best doctors and nurses.Past:July 2019, I took my Mom again for ear irrigation (she is 92) paid her copay prior to visit, waited a short time then were escorted to a room. Then we waited for a good 15 minutes before Dr Zaide stepped in. Well you would think he would take care of a blocked ear but no. Instead of being dealt with, like last year, by a bungling Dr K.W. , Dr Zaide decided to chit chat and proceed to look in her ear and then nothing. His recommendation was to continue doing drops of Debrox. We were speechless and just left. I will never allow my mother to ever step foot into Urgent Care ever again. Once bitten, twice shy. Now the coup de grace is the beautiful bill for $750 ! For what you say ? so do I. 2 visits on same day ??? one for $400, other for $350.... Of course United Healthcare just pays without even asking... A week later Mother got the best treatment ever by Dr Tsai at Mt Sinai West. Mt Sinai will be the only place for her from now on. Dr Tsai irrigated out so much wax that now she no longer needs a hearing aid. There will be no Collection agency service for this twice victim....2018: Brought my mom in for ear irrigation and she left worse. She could not tell for a few days. She had come here a few years back and they had the proper device. Not this time. And on top of everything a bill for $150 FOR PAIN... nice touch using a collection agency after only 2 months... thanks Dr K.W. nice work...
Scheduled an appointment online after confirming on their site that they do x-rays. Hobbled to the location on a severely injured foot, get there to learn that they have x-rays, but no tech to do the x-ray. Felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. You know how to take the appointment, you just dont know how to FULFILL the appointment, and if you think about it, thats the most important aspect of the appointment. Hobbled home on my damaged foot in agony. Thanks for nothing, Northwell.
I LOVE this place.... helpful. prompt, kind, and professional. The nurse and doctor listened and advised. The decor is cheerful and the facilities spotless. The price was reasonable and we enjoyed the half hour of quality time with Dr. Shipley. Best of all, the patient is much better after taking the prescribed medication. Thank You !
Dr. Maria Cipollone is the finest surgeon I have ever met. I was brought to Northwell by ambulance under emergency conditions with an extremely severe gash on my hand. The Dr.responded quickly and effectively and saved my hand under very difficult circumstances. I can no longer detect where the scar is. They dont come any better than this fine Dr.Thank you,Howard Anger
Ive been here twice and have been seen by two different doctors and they were both excellent. I was seen very quickly. Didnt have to make an appointment. Nurses and front desk staff are also very good and friendly. My favorite part is that they had pictures of fictional doctors all around: Dr. Hibbert (The Simpsons), The Doctor Julius Irving (76ers), and, well, Dr. Evil (Austin Powers)...he is a doctor...It set a very good mood, and I think that counts. Highly recommended!
This was the best service I have ever experienced at a medical facility!!!!! Doctor was fantastic. I was cut and had to get stitches. He did such a good job, that you wouldnt be able to tell I had it.Also very inexpensive! Never go to an emergency room, because you will never get treatment and will get charged a fortune.
I brought my grandchild here this morning. The care, as usual, was professional and excellent. The reason for the review however, is to provide super credit to Sonia, from the front desk who ran 1.5 city blocks in the heat to catch us and return the small green case with all the SIM cards for the Leap Pad that had fallen out of a backpack. With thanks and kudos for above and beyond!
Third time at Glen Cove location. First time I insisted on antibiotics. Nope the PA said. It’s viral. 3 days later half dead I stagger in, same PA apologized and wrote Rx. Back again today and same refusal to listen with barely an exam and advice to use OTC meds. As if I don’t know about DayQuil or Advil. Waste of time and money. Go to another doc in the box that will listen to and respect the patient/customer. The copay scam is real and Northwell has figured it out. There are plenty of alternatives out there. This is not one of them.
Had a sliver of glass in my foot. Showed up on Tuesday afternoon at about 4:30 p.m., no wait time, doctor and nurses were excellent (and super sensitive to my squeamishness), took it out immediately. Copay was reasonable. I now remember taking my little guy there some time ago, and they were great then too. I should just go here instead of the real docs office :)
These doctors are horrible. I have step throats and they misdiagnosed me. They put me on antibiotics for one day and there were working well but then they called me and told me to stop what would have been a 10 day cycle. After they called me they said there didnt think it was strep anymore but rather a virus. After I stopped the antibiotics I got very sick again and had to go to another doctor a week later who said I 100% do have strep and put me on more antibiotics which have healed me. Moral of the story is that the people who see and treat you here clearly have not gone to medical school and seem to know nothing at all.
Came here in the middle of the day and was blown away with the professionalism and kindness of the staff. I was a mess at the time and they walked me through all the processes and apologized for being behind even though it was only a few minutes. Would recommend this location to anyone with urgent medical issues!
As an Asthmatic person, having drs near by is helpful because we cannot go too far when having asthma attack.A cold got me to the point I need to see a dr and have nebulizer treatment. Saw Dr. Lynn as walk-in on 5/3/16. He is a professional person and very diligent. The visit on this day went well and I went home.Today, 5/5/16, my condition got worse after having a chilly night. So I went back to see Dr. Lynn. Things were just awful and everything went wrong as they put me through a hell. The nebulizer treatment went well, and I asked Dr. Lynn for notes so I can submit them to my boss. His admins had made mistake twice while I was still at the clinic. The first one had dates wrong. The second one did not include the dates at all. The third one seemed correct so I went out to get my meds.Once I got home, I realized something was wrong with the note and meds. The note had someone elses name (which is a HIPAA violation), and medication had wrong starting day (starting tomorrow). I called to make sure that I get things right. The admins who answered me had a negative attitude already, and said that I should start the med tomorrow because I already had 3 prednisone at the clinic, which I did not. They send another prescription to my pharmacy. Great, but I still needed the CORRECT note. The admins with an attitude said, OK I will print it out again for you. So I asked what time they close so I can get the note before closing time. The admins annoyingly said that they close at 15 mins.To some, the notes may not be important but for me it does. So I RAN 3 blocks pumping my inhaler like an oxygen pump. When I got there, the admins looked at me with an expression, OMG! I believe they were playing with me on the phone thinking I would not come get it the same day. BUT I did. This was beyond the professionalism as they flat out lied that they did not said they close in 15 mins. If they didnt how come I would RAN to my death?Dr. Lynn diligently apologized after I explained the situation. While I was talking to Dr. Lynn, I could hear the admins laughing at me as I was crying and breathing heavily. However, this is not funny. It is an ethical concern and beyond the appropriateness. So I asked them to let me know whom I can talk to to make an official complaint. They wrote down my numbers and told me that the manager will call me.However, I surely dont believe it. So I am filing the official complaint with Northwell.Apparently this place deserve no stars.I will not return to this place not again unless I want them to kill me.
Been here twice in the last two weeks-- once for my messed up knee and once for my toddlers broken leg. Theyve been amazing. In particular, for that broken leg we walked in 2 minutes before the doors closed and the full team of folks helped us get x-rays and a splint. I shudder to think of how unpleasant it would have been to drag the same kiddo to the ER.
I twisted my ankle last weekend and went to this place because I heard good things about it and was not let down. First of all, not having to wait in a dirty public ER room over a twisted ankle and instead wait only 2 minutes in a clean friendly place is PRICELESS in my book. I was thankful that my ankle was just a sprain and my insurance company re-imbursed my charges. I will never go to a public ER room again after experiencing the biss of Urgent Care Manhattan. Highly recommend.
Last week I got hit with a virus that felt like a tidal wave... my husband managed to get me to the Emergency Facility at 199 Amsterdam where there was NO wait, and the Doctor seemed like an angel from heaven (I actually had a dream about her). It’s now a week later, Dr. Swartz is my nominee for Best ER Doctor of the year, and Northwell Healthcare gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me (and more if the charts would allow!)
Went for COVID test ... they advertise they are available for walk ins. They are not. Only Booking appointments days after u need it. They are all on computers doing nothing. Getting a test today is like getting a ps5 at this point. Almost impossible. Pandemics don’t stop on holidays...
Don’t go here unless you are dying. I have an upper respiratory infection, which they confirmed, and I get this twice a year and need an anti-biotic to knock it out. They basically offered me a throat spray (topical analgesic to numb, doesn’t do anything to treat) and told me until I have pneumonia they won’t give me an anti-biotic. So even though they confirmed the infection, and I’m green, they want me to be dying with a lung infection before they will help me. Terrible bedside manner, terrible medical advice. These people want you to suffer.
Came in with a cough, pain in my ears, sore throat and bloodshot eyes. Doctor took one look and said allergies. Perscribed over the counter allergy medicine w/decongestant. GUESS WHAT...she was dead wrong! I went to my trusted GP the next day (diagnosis didnt sound right to me) and i have an ear infection and conjuntivitis in the eye, both of which need to be treated with antibiotics. Not sure where she got her degree...
My early symptoms of appendicitis were presented to the PA running the clinic and very soon I was on my way to Lenox Hill for a CAT scan, diagnosis and laparoscopic surgery. Since we got it in time I was discharged with no infection less than 24 hours of arriving at Urgent Care. Amazing!
I took covid test on August 21, 2020 and I still, two weeks later, do not have my results! I need these results for my employment in childcare! I am livid! I have called, emailed, chatted, tweeted, and stopped into the location at which I had the test in person, all several times, all to no avail! This is absolutely unacceptable!
I chose to have my finger stitches removed at the MD-Walk-in located at 69 St. & Amst. (Actually, I preferred them a la quid pro quo: They always let me use their bathroom on several, desperate occasions!!). Personal endorsements aside, Id recommend these medical outlets -- especially the 69th Street Team -- to anyone needing immediate attention/relief.Thank you, kool Med Peeps.-RM

2022-04-13I booked a spot for 9:15 am (April 2022) and was seen by a nurse after just a few minutes. Dr. Flores saw me soon after, spoke with me about my symptoms, and was able to diagnose my ailment. He was both professional and personal, and my prescriptions were called in within 30 minutes. Clean office, courteous woman at the front desk, highly recommend Northwell at W 69th St and Amsterdam.

2022-04-15I went in with a sore throat and a cough, saying I wanted to make sure it’s not strep. The staff were all very nice, and they gave me a strep test that came back negative and told me that assuming my COVID test comes back negative (it did), it’s a cold. I left feeling like “bummer I had to spend $40 on a copay to find out that I have a cold but better to know…”But then I started thinking about the fact that no one listened to my chest. I thought that was weird, especially since I came in complaining of a COUGH, so we asked my boyfriend’s friend who is a doctor. His response was: “Ill say this. She comes in with toe pain, Im listening to her chest. 😂😂😂😂 but also 😒😒😒😒So now I’m not even sure if I saw a doctor at all. Someone, I’m assuming a nurse, took my vitals and gave me the strep test. Then someone in scrubs (another nurse? A doctor? Who can say?) came in to tell me that he didn’t think it was strep because coughing indicates that it’s not strep (ok, noted for next time) but they’re running it anyway. He left and returned to tell me that the strep test was negative, and that was it.Don’t recommend unfortunately.

2022-03-23Dangerously negligent. I came to urgent care after a nut allergy incident that required an Epipen. The receptionist callously told me to sign in and wait for the next opening as I developed hives and struggled to breathe. After a 30min wait I saw a doctor who promptly told me that they werent authorized to administer any drugs but would recommend me to an ambulance to an ER. No one could have told me this sooner? I received a $50 bill for this sage medical advice which I was told would be voided but ended up paying anyway lest I be sent to collections in the future.

2022-04-28My visit was very quick and convenient! And staff were efficient, but very patient, friendly and thorough in making sure I got the vaccinations I needed, and in explaining how I could get additional service, i.e., some blood tests I will need. Thank you!

2022-04-18I went there for a COVID test, gave my insurance information and was told it was covered. Later I got a bill for $267 from UrgentCare. When I asked about this at the facility, they say thats between the billing department and my insurer and I need to call billing. In other words, they take no responsibility for misinforming me when I visited for the test. So, I call billing, no answer after waiting for some time. Then I call my insurer Aetna. They say that their agreement with UrgentCare is that UrgentCare cannot submit a COVID test billing code to them, only a general Urgent care code which isnt covered. In other words, UrgentCare knew that they cannot get COVID tests covered by Aetna, but still told me that I could. Basically, lying to bring in customers who could just as easily have got a COVID that nearby where it would have been covered. And Im stuck with the $267 bill. It is really unethical business practice.

2022-03-20Paid 200$ to be rushed away and not even being able to see the doctor. Rude nurse practitioner “took care” of my husband so that we had to go to another clinic to be treated normally.

2022-07-25Their system doesnt accept international phone numbers as a contact detail and despite repeatedly telling them I cant access my results on the app they continue to upload them there and refuse to send another way. The only way to access the app / portal is to log in with your number! The lady on reception said just give me any number so I gave her the hotel reception number which means I cant access any of my records now. Also the information I gave them about my injury was incorrectly translated into my record. The person I gave the info to was just scrawling it on a post it so I am not surprised. Didnt seem very professional.

2022-06-02DO NOT GO HERE!!!!I went in for a test on 8/27/21. They took a swab, decided to just not test it, and didn’t tell me. 3 days later I finally called and they told me “oh, well they just threw it out”. I went on for another test and then was sent a bill.I have been in communication with them currently (6/1/22) since I recorded the bill in September, and they just keep telling me “oh it’s in review”, “it’s being escalated”, “we have a high volume”.It is the most disgusting, incompetent level of service I’ve ever seen in my entire life. It is so unacceptable that it is almost a year for them to figure out that I should not have received a second bill for their technician’s mistake. This borderlines on negligence. Go to any other urgent care because “urgent” or “care” is definitely not in their name.

2022-05-26I was seen as soon as I arrived. The facilities were immaculate. Everyone was friendly and professional and Dr Flores was outstanding. I recommend without hesitation.

2022-05-25I’ve been 4 times and think the facility is great compared to others. Knowledgable nurses and doctors, nice service and highly recommend Northwell over City MD.
