NSPC Brain and Spine Surgery in other cities:
So far my experience has been fantastic. (i am seeing dr bolognese. but even his entire team has been great and easy to work with)excellent care from a doctor that really cares about his patients and is passionate about helping people. very thorough and to the point. it can be rare to find.. but i am grateful it’s still out there.
I was very impressed with the warm welcome, the professionalism of the Staff, and the ambiance of the waiting room suite. The greeting by the Receptionist and Audra was warm and friendly. My experiece with Dr.Klein was great. I was at ease. Dr.Kleins capacity to relate and to me and listen was extraordinary. My confidence in communicating with him was boosted. I was listened to and heard. I left his office feeling relieved .I give this practice 100% of my respect and congratulations.Margaret Barrett
The Doctors were wonderful! Dr. Choi explained my condition in detail and answered all of my questions. He gave me a complete examination. Dr.Pile-Spellman saw me afterward and continued the exam. They had reviewed all of my images from the hospital and were well informed about my condition. I highly recommend this team to anyone in need of their services.Sincerely,Cynthia Johnson
Dr. Gad Klein was a pleasure to meet. He is thorough, yet not at intimidating. He explained matters in such a way, that made me feel less anxious and very comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Klein if you are in need of a Neuropsychologist. His office staff are professional and kind as well.
I have ME/CFS and have been exploring the newly discovered link between the disease and craniocervical instability (CCI). Dr. Bolognese is one of 5 or 6 neurosurgeons in the world who perform the surgery for this condition. I had contacted another surgeons office, but they required me to travel just for a consultation, and the wait would have been a year. NSPC, however, offered a step-by-step process in order to secure a video consultation. I communicated via email with Vanessa and Irene for over a year while I worked with local doctors on the process. (There were many delays due to the pandemic and insurance issues.) Both Vanessa and Irene were easy to communicate with. Yes, the office requires more paperwork and steps than most others, but that is the price to pay for the quality of care.I was incredibly impressed by Dr. Bolognese. Id read stories of patients who worked with him, and they all were very appreciative of his methodical, scientific approach to medicine. He had every bit of expertise that one would expect from a neurosurgeon of his stature and specialty. He explained his opinion of my case very well, and I agree with his suggested next steps for me. He showed me his own markings on my diagnostic imaging and explained what they meant to him. He spent more time with me than I expected. The best surprise, though, was the fact that he was absolutely hilarious! Its not required in a physician, but it further enhanced the experience!I highly recommend this practice to those looking for world-class quality neurosurgical care that is highly specialized. Having a video consultation is incredibly convenient for those of us who either are not able to travel or who have extreme difficulty traveling due to level of disability.
I have been using Neurological Surgery P.C. for about 18 years now. I have seen many different doctors, but mainly Dr. Sonstein and Dr. Snyder. Both are exceptionally wonderful, caring , great surgeons who also care as you as a person. I couldnt possibly recommend them any higher.
Dr. Grant is wonderful! Couldn’t recommend him enough. He was kind, compassionate and personable. He talked through our concerns and used the data to make the best decision for our son. He made what could have been a difficult experience enjoyable and made everyone feel at ease.
This the only place I would ever go to. Dr. Bolognese is the best doctor I ever had. He not only is a bright surgeon but a great human being. His knowledge of Chiari 1 Formation and in his field is second to none. His staff is also very professional and accommodating. Irene is the sweetest and most amazing person willing to help all the time!
Dr Brown is compassionate, responsive, and willing to problem solve issues that are complex and unimaginable. I’m grateful for him and his assistant Stephanie as they help me formulate a plan of action from a thousand miles away! Truly a doctor and staff that care immensely for their patients.
Dr. Brown is the best. He always listens and treats you not only like his patient but a person. He’s willing to have patience with his patients and gives good advise. His surgical skills are top notch. I would recommend Dr. Brown to anyone needing a neurosurgeon. Dr. Brown is in NY and I’m in KS and he does telahealth with me and comes up with ideas to help with my chronic pain.
Pretty terrible experience with Dr Brisman. On Oct 5th I had a 10:15am appointment with Dr Brisman who decided to finally grace me with his presence nearly TWO HOURS late. His staff couldnt possibly be bothered to give me any type of explanation for the delay, nor an update when he would arrive. I understand doctors can be busy, but it doesnt take too much common decency to let a person know someone is going to be that late! When Dr. Brisman finally did see me he had to consult with his phone to provide a diagnosis, not sure that is a good sign. I was able to ask a few questions while he was sitting down, but apparently after about 5 minutes he was done talking to me. He literally stood with one foot out the door making it very obvious it was time for him to move on. Pathetic. Avoid this doctor!Admin Note: I see on many of the previous reviews there are responses from the practice. I would love to know why the doctor and his staff felt this type of treatment is acceptable? Not one person apologized or offered an explanation for the delay. I would LOVE an acknowledgement that I did in fact have to wait TWO hours past my appointment time to see the doctor! Also, why does the doctor need to consult his phone to provide an opinion for a patient? Does he need additional training for Chiari patients?
I was recommended to see Dr Michael Brisman to discuss options for an acoustic neuroma. His bedside manner immediately put me at ease. He explained what it was, showed me his case studies, went over the options and made me feel comfortable with his recommendations. He took his time, answered my questions and was genuinely a nice person. For being a specialist with his reputation I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. The papers to fill out came in the mail, brought them to my appointment which was right on schedule and his receptionist was efficient and very nice and helpful.
I am so impressed with Dr. Bolognese and his extremely extensive knowledge of chiari malformation, craniocervical instability, spinal fluid leaks and the other myriad comorbidities of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. He was thorough, thoughtful, kind, and took the extra time to answer all my questions in depth. A genuinely caring physician with a helpful heart.
Neurological Surgery P.C. is an excellent service in every way. They are right inside Valet parking for which they provide a free sticker. The reception is efficient and kind to the patients needs. I saw Michelle but another receptionist helped me with a matter in her momentary absence without hesitation. And of course the physician ( I saw Dr. Snyder) explained everything to me in great detail, as well as patiently answering questions. The complication of getting an MRI of the thorax with a defibrillator was met with cheerful challenge. I have nothing but good to say about this practice.
I’ve had severe neurovestibular dysfunction for 7 years. I heard about Dr. Bolognese from on article on the mechanical basis of cervical fusions for Craniocervical Instability (CCI) and its related symptoms. He was able to rule it out...he’s one of very few Neurosurgeons who does cervical instability measurements. And, most importantly, he provided another avenue to pursue...Intracranial Hypotension (low CSF pressure). I have been told by many doctors that I don’t have the perfect presentation for this. Yet, the proper testing was never done to rule it out. Dr. Bolognese explained everything fully and in the detail that I needed. He was very friendly and generous with his time.If you have been struggling without a proper diagnosis, I highly recommend a video consultation with him! Pricing is very reasonable.I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. And, have new hope for regaining my life.
DDr. Bolognese is a rare combination of extremely knowledgeable, empathic, clear in his explanations, patient, thorough, and humble. He was very clear on what he didnt know. He was also clear on what are next steps forward and what aspects of my case he was uncertain about. I recommend him highly.
Came to see Dr Vaynman for a second opinion and.... he will be taking care of me going forward ! The original doctor wants to fuse most of my c spine. Dr Vaynman took the time to explain the multiple problems going on and is getting the other imaging, in functional positions, to most properly decided on the best option.
Dr.Mangla is that rare combination of intelligence and compassion, characteristics that truly makes for a wonderful experience despite the severity and complexity of the surgery he is performing. He literally saved my twin sisters life and no words can possibly express my gratitude....
I have been a patient of Dr B, for the 7 yrs he is at NSPC, and for at least 5 years prior. He has literally saved my life, with his expertise in zebras- those of us multiply complex cases with many comorbidants ( associated conditions). He has also saved my young adult sons life, who is unfortunate to share many of my genetic, heritable conditions.Surgical expertise, extensive knowledge, diagnostic acumen, collaborations with experts in fields that are inter related ( autonomic dysregulation, connective tissue disorders like EDS, Eagles Syndrome, etc) plus compassion for his patients, make Dr B deservedly highly sought out. I am appreciative of all he does for my family and countless others.NSPC professional and support staff Irene, Phil, Renata are always attentive, and efficient as well as compassionately committed to patients needs.Like many who share my many crazy conditions, I have consulted with several dozen practitioners/ experts over a span of 15 to 20 years and have become very discriminating. And I chose Dr B, NSPC for my son, as well as myself.Nuff said.
What do you say about a Doctor who saved your life ? Days earlier, I had no idea who Doctor Mangla was but all that changed on a frantic trip to the Winthrop ER. A brain bleed was discovered which was causing my double vision, ear whooshing 24/7 and increased pressure on the skull I had experienced over the last few weeks. Dr Mangla clearly explained the situation and what needed to be done. He was honest in assessing risk, possible outcomes but so reassuring that I was in good hands and hed do everything possible to restore me to good health. His bedside manner was medicine enough to give me hope. The surgery was a success and all my symptoms have been resolved. To his due diligence, he followed up with periodic angiograms until he was convinced I was out of danger and to resume life as normal. He was my game changer and I owe Dr Mangla a debt of gratitude I could never repay for giving me my life back. The office staff also works diligently with insurance companies so that burden is not fought by yourself. His team fights along with you to ensure your insurance is doing their job and meeting their financial responsibilities. Thank you again Dr Mangla. Your exceptional care and service will never be forgotten.
Dr. Jonathan Brisman saved my life. He and his staff are very professional, caring and exceptionally patient-oriented.Dr. Brisman, along with all his associates involved in my surgery, are what physicians strive to be.....healers.I will be forever grateful to Dr. Brisman.
Dr. Artem Vayman changed our lives!!! I am so thankful for him and what he did for my mom :) he gave her life back, literally. I found Dr. Vaynman when I was looking for a neurosurgeon to fix a previously surgery on my mom’s deformed spine. Dr. Vaynman explained to us that she was not aligned properly on the first surgery and this was the reason why she was leaning forward and unable to walk. He removed all the 20 screws on her spine and re-did the surgery all over again, this time with the proper alignment and right angles based on computer software.Compared to the awful experience we have the first time with her previous neurosurgeon (dr. Jaime Nieto) and the way we were abandoned by him and his secretary, this second experience has been night and day. Instead, Dr. Vaynman is always very patient and explains everything to us taking all the time we need to answer our questions. His secretary Liz is very reliable and always returns our phone calls.8 months later, my mom is walking, riding a bike, and getting her life back. She will always have some kind of pain, dr. Vaynman explained, but now is a livable and minimal kind of pain.God bless Dr. Vaynman, yes I recommend him. You will be in the best hands.
Anastasia was extremely helpful in setting up my appointments. Dr. Brown was great. Hes a warm, caring doctor who made the surgical experience as UNSTRESSFUL as was possible. When I had questions a few days afterwards, he responded and alleviated my concerns.Hes the best!!!
My neurosurgeon in CA, one of the top in the world when it comes to facial neuralgias, recommended I see Dr. Jeffrey Brown about a nerve stimulator. While I havent had the stimulator implanted (waiting on insurance), I can say Dr. Brown was thorough about how the stimulator and my likely results, and compassionate about my pain. I would definitely recommend him to lower NY and New England patients dealing with facial neuralgias.

2021-10-24I am grateful to Dr. Brown!! I have Trigeminal and occipital neuralgia and then some. I have been through so many different procedures and surgerys. Out of all of them so far Dr. Brown has not shown me the door. I am hoping that he never will. He really is an amazing doctor and spends time with you explaining what he thinks might be best for you. I love the detailed explanation he gives.
