Nu Wave is always a pleasant place to be. No long waits, great conversation and a loving atmosphere. I look forward to seeing my stylist Nicole. With her witty personality and gentle touch, my experience is always 100%. I highly recommend Nu Wave!!!
Continuous Great service!I have been a customer at Nu Wave since 2018. I am happy with the level of service and professionalism. I love my Stylist Shireen. She is pleasant, honest, great at her profession and easy to have conversations with. She remembers there are certain products I cannot use, she makes sure I bring my Rx shampoo and gives me the face when I forget 🤭. My scalp condition has practically disappeared yet she still encourages me to continue using the prescription. The charges for services are on the higher spectrum, however this type of service and products used would not be available for much less.
I have been a customer of more than 17 years and I love NuWave Kultural Kreations. Nicole is awesome, caring and concerned about her customers hair. Such a really cool person she is. The shop is always clean and comfortable. From the reception area to the bathroom everything is so clean.They give excellent haircare. I recommend them to everyone I know that has natural hair. My stylist Nilaja was very pleasant, welcoming & on time. I had a shampoo, deep conditioner, trim & double-strand twist. I appreciated that she took the time to explain which products she would be using on my hair & showed me, ahead of time, how much she’ll be cutting off. The team of beauticians were very professional & the salon is beautiful & clean. I would definitely be going back & I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a natural hair salon.

I was introduced to this establishment thru my cousin because I liked her hairstyle.From my first appointment at Nu Wave, I was totally impressed!Theyre professional, respectful, work well together, patient & work hard at pleasing their clients. I have found the environment very pleasant for just relaxing after Ive had a challenging morning. It seems like only a short time ago that I first became acquainted with Nu Wave Kultural Kreations, but it has been over 10 years that I have been a truly satisfied patron for this place. On my very first visit, I was seen by Nicole. She evaluated my hair, told me how damaged it was and what needed to be done to repair the damage and rebuild my hair. I received my first experience with the women of Nu Wave and have been going ever since. To say that what these sisters do for and to your hair is for lack of a better description is sheer artistry.When you walk in the concierge welcomes you with a gracious smile, acknowledging you by name. All of the women will extend greetings while skillfully attending to their customers. I can go on and on, but I will conclude with this; from washing, regular or deep conditioning, to styling, know that these women are at their best doing the best with humility and pride in what they do.Oops! A warm professional atmosphere and the stylist are attentive to their clients specific needs.i have been a client for a very long time. In happy to say the standards they have implemented since Covid allows me to continue to receive salon time(which for some women the only Me time they get for themselves) in a clean healthy environment. My experience at Nu Wave Cultural Creations is always wonderful. The stylists are punctual, professional and expert at doing my locs. They practice and maintain excellent sanitation as they clean the equipment, sinks and chairs after each client. I highly recommend this salon. I added a pedicure to my service this time. Head and toes are 👀 great!

Wow! Where do I even begin! I came across this salon via google and the reviews are nothing short of the truth. I’m never disappointed. It’s the care and love that’s put into my hair. I always walk out feeling lighter. I’m very picky about how folks touch/comb my hair and I trust each of the stylist to show my hair the same amount of love and care. They do get booked up very quickly so get your appointment. Super shout out to Shukana (hope I spelt your name right). Over all shout outs to all the ladies at the salon! It’s always fun time. 🙂
As I arrived for my appointment I was quickly ushered to an open chair and Avión started to wash/condition my dreadlocks. She is always very professional and the staff are all friendly and work as a team. The salon is clean and everyone is courteous even the other patrons. Each chair is wiped clean and all social distance and COVID-19 safety measures are followed. I recommend this business to anyone looking for an experienced hair salon focused on great customer service.

It’s a very comfortable environment. I’ve been going to this establishment for almost a year and the people who work there are friendly and their skills put together, it’s incredible. My hairstylist goes above and beyond when taking care of your hair. She also recognizes and gives you a discount on your most important day in the year, your birthday. I Love Nu Wave their level of professionalism is exceptional. The environment has a spa feeling. They are very informative about the best products to use as well as their special blend of hair oils. Stylish Shireen did my hair. I arrived early. The salon was very clean. I was treated by my stylist who had a client in her chair. My hair was started on time. We spoke about some thing I needed done for my hair. My stylist came up with a treatment plan. I didn’t feel embarrassed or shamed as I expressed my concerns. My hair was done beautifully 😻. Nicole has been doing my hair since 2004 and no matter where else I go (when away) I always return. The teamwork and professionalism (by all) is incomparable. You rarely have to wait pass your appointment time and you leave with beautifully styled hair which also smells awesome. The ambience is pleasant and you wont be disappointed.
I’ve been getting my hair done here for many years (too numerous to count) and, despite the distance I travel, my hair home is with Nu Wave Kultural Kreations. The salon is friendly and cozy, all of the technician are professional and attentive. It’s overall a great place to unwind and get beautified.
GOAT! They’re the absolute best in the natural hair game! Highly skilled and very professional stylists, very clean and aesthetically pleasing environment. I’m a very picky woman of a certain age who has had more salon experiences than I can count. Scheduling by appointment is strictly adhered to and I’ve never had to wait. I travel from Long Island and have been a client for over 12 years and counting. I once drove to my appointment in a snow storm and I’d do it again!
The best! Ive been afraid to get my fro cut for 10 years due to bad experiences of stylists not getting it and chopping it all off! I had the best experience ever with Shekinah at Nu Wave! Cut was on point and braids lovely and tender-headed friendly. So thoughtful, caring and chill! Yay!!! I finally have a spectacular natural hair stylist (((:D
I really enjoyed my experience @ Nu Wave Kultural Kreations. My hairstylist is AMAZING. We had a consultation about what I wanted to achieve, what could be done & I made an appointment. She made it very clear during treatment everything that she would be doing step by step. I really appreciated that because it was my first time there. The other stylist seemed just as Lovely & Classy as Pat. They acknowledge you, converse w/ you & smile @ you. The atmosphere is very pleasant.

I have to say my whole experience was great! My stylist was great and she introduced herself to me, When I was waiting. She took me 10 mins before my appointment. She heard my hair concerns and will try and figure out a plan for my Locs. I love my hair 😍. I wasnt in there for 4 or 6 hours 🙂. The receptions was nice. Will I return YES. Are they expensive, Yes.For those that are tender headed, Try them out. I wasnt in pain 😊.

Ive been faithfully getting my locs groomed at this salon for 13 years. I absolutely love what theyve done for my hair thus far. All the stylists at said location are extremely talented and friendly. The best part is how great my hair smells and how awesome my hair looks when I leave there.
The staff is professional, and accommodating. They respect their clients time, you are seen within minutes of your appointed time. The salon always clean, warm space, a tasteful decor. The service is really good ... thorough hair washings, & kool styling,! They also work with community activities! Great job Ladies!
Destroyed my natural curls. Stylist was vicious with the hot comb and refused to turn down temp on flat iron. I used to get a blowout every 3 months for my trim and enjoy the week-long break from curl management. Can’t do that anymore. Have been going to another salon to repair as much as possible. Thank god for Crown Worthy salon!

Nu Wave Kultural Keations is such a comforting place. You can go there and literally relax and connect to people so positive. My hairdresser is so nice quiet and lay back, She just goes through her day so calmly. But the whole salon is very nice . I would recommend anyone to go there.

Thy are very friendly and respectful of people’s time. Your appt starts on time and if you come early and they can start you early they will. My entire family goes to this salon to get our locs done. Ive been going to Nu wave kultural kreatuons for quit some time and my stylist Derma has always taken such good care of me and made me feel very comfortable and welcome. However on my last visit Derma was out sick and I was accommodated on the last min by Nicole who is the owner of the salon just so I wont have to reschedule. She squeezed me in her already tight Saturday schedule and she didnt disappoint, not only was my hair done perfect I was out of there way quicker than expected. LOVE LOVE LOVE this salon..

Best place to get ya locks and hair down in my opinion. I mean they take care of you. Like for instance when I always getting my hair wash it’s like I’m get a massage treatment to my head. And then they always ask if everyone is ok and making sure nothing is itching out if I’m feeling any pain. And I love that they wash my hair for like a good period of time it’s like there making sure its super clean. The place I used to go before I came here it felt they gave my hair no love and conditioning. Coming here I finally got the love and conditioning I need. No pun intended lol 😂. Anyways this place looks and feels high maintenance put its worth it. Because when I walk in I feel and look like a toad. But when I walk out I look and feel like a prince! 🤴🏽 . Oh by the way I should mention my hair continues to smell so good after 2 weeks walking out this place. What ever u guys use keep using it.

The stylist at Nu wave did an amazing job with my hair and assessing its major needs. We ended up going with very micro braids which they completed in less then 13 hours they came out amazingly. The service was bar none and highly professional.

I always enjoy my appointment at Nu Wave. You are always greeted by Stylists andcustomers with a warm Hello. My stylist, Avion, talks to me about the condition on myhair and gives me extra care for the condition of my hair and gives me treatments for conditioning my hair and scalp. I pass the salon everyday ... but Im particular with my hair. But I was ready to commit to loc my hair. So I walked in the vibe was nice made and the stylist and receptionist took the time out to talk to me ... so I made my aappointment for that week ... I had double strand twist done ... my stylist was Shekinah ... I havent had my hair and scalp washed like that in a longgggg time ... I took a chance time wise to do my hair knowing it may be cutting it close to another ... but another stylist came in to help Shekinah finish my twist not because she needed the help but to accomodate me. I didnt even ask! So that was awesome. I cant remember her name but she has the first chair in the salon as soon as you walk in the salon. I have my next appointment booked with Shekinah ... I would recommend them always and I dont really write reviews.

Best hair wash, ask for Derma. The ambiance was exquisite. Customer experience is well polished and amazing West Indian music playlist.Very knowledgeable in hair care. Nicole understood what I wanted as the out-come with my hair: health, volume, future colors and length.Definitely a different experience in Natural and Salon Treatments. Feels like a Sap for Hair :)
Nicole is the best and is very professional, the ambience is very tranquil and relaxing and appears to be following Covid-19 guidelines. I was a bit annoyed that I didn’t get a receipt .. my bad, didn’t realize until I left.
I was there today, and as always it was a wonderful experience. Atim is great as always and has never changed since I have been coming there for the past 16 years. The service is excellent, the place is so nice and clean and they treat you really well. Petra who is the first person that you see when you walk in is always so kind and always smiling and makes you feel so welcome. I have always had wonderful service here, and can not give them anything but compliments. Thank you for always being the best. This place is way over priced they lied to me about the price my first time there to start my locs I was told $50 at time of appointment when it came time to pay I was told $70 to, my second time they charged me $90 to retwist, my 3rd time I was charged $120 to retwist. My hair was not locking it had lumps in my hair she was not rolling the entire loc. The root was twisted but the end of hair was a big fuzzy ball. Went to a new place yesterday and she did an amazing job every loc were rolled perfectly and still in amazing condition. I must say the staff at nu wave are very friendly but I just felt like I was cheated out my money for back service

I love visiting Kultural Kreations. Its a little out of my way transportation wise, but it is well worth the trip. The Loc-ticians are highly skilled in natural hair care maintenance and styling. Ive had some intricate loc styles done at Kultural Kreations. As a result, I received a bevy of compliments. I treasure and appreciate Gods gift of our natural hair!!!!!!

I’m leaving this review at exactly 6:33pm on Saturday, June 15th.After reading all these wonderful reviews about this place, I decided to drive over to inquire about their services.The receptionist is bad for your business. Not only am I greeted with total disdain, instead of asking how can I help you she asks “what do I need” ouch!I proceeded to explain that I wanted to inquire about their services, she then proceeds to explain they are closing early for a meeting.Business 101 is a course all entrepreneurs should enforce upon all those associated with how their business is ran.I will never plead with any service provider to essentially pay them for their services. What an utter turn off and although it smelled heavenly when I walked in, this non professional simply ruined my expectations in less than (1) minute.#blackpeopledobetter #ourmoneywillkeepyourlightson
Second time got my hair dyed and dye is all over my pillow, ends are loosening up because of the abundance of oil put on the ends......have had dreds since 2005 and all of a sudden ends are unraveling......I sit there and watch people come and go with healthy looking hair and Im seem to have problems. Have spoken on this to no avail. Am no longer a customer.

I have had the privilege of having my crown blessed by the angelic hands of these master lockticians for over 10yrs now. This is hands down the place to have hair needs met, true masters of their craft, extremely professional, beyond courteous, an atmosphere that is very relaxing and inviting (I always catch up on my sleep when I am there...... lol). These ladies are all equally able to bring hair to life I have never, ever had a disappointing session. I would like to recognize Shereen my locktician for being so wonderful.

2022-08-31I have been going to Nu Wave for years and they always do a good job. I have dreads and they actually care about the health of your hair not just doing it and getting you out. They take the time to educate you on the best way to take care of your hair. I am not good at styling and always leave that up to my stylist and I am never disappointed. Will always recommend them.

2022-04-06I’ve been coming to Nu Wave Kultural Kreations for years and they were and still are consistent in the services they provide. I can always count on them to be there and take me on time. The shop is very clean, I’m comfortable being there. I travel from Queens to Brooklyn because I can’t find anyone who does the job that they do(even though I’ve tried looking in Queens). Believe me you will not be disappointed if you come to Nu wave in Brooklyn.

2022-08-11I’ve had fairly good experiences here in the past but was very disappointed in the services I got about 6 weeks ago. Overall too many of the stylists are just not friendly and never ask about products they choose to use on one’s hair. If you ask a question to often it’s met with disdain (this is unacceptable) so this visit which has never happened to me before the tech didn’t twist my hair tight enough by week 4 my hair looked as if it had been 8 weeks in smh.. not only that but what is the obsession with using oil to twist? Some hair needs gel in addition to tighter twist for hair to hold up.. I feel like the only way I’d get the service I want is to get all this understood while making my appointment but I think I’ll just go elsewhere…

2022-05-07I live going to get my hair done. This is the only place I can find so far that my retwist last for so long. My hair smells clean an fresh. My experience this time was not the best. I drove 3hrs in rain and traffic to make my appointment. Instead of empathy from my stylist she just told me straight, you cant get your treatment today. That hurt considering all that I went thru to get there not to mention parking was a nightmare and someone hit my car glass while I was in the salon. I left with enough time too get to my appointment on time and her words were dry and harsh. I really just kept quiet the entire time. That experience leaves me, pondering over finding a new place hopefully closer to home. This was not worth the trip yesterday. 😒 To say I was disappointed doesnt even come close.

2022-04-26I cut my locs which was nurtured at Nu Wave after all most 20yrs. I was lost until I came back to the best natural care salon. Hats off to the Nu Wave staff. They all shine. Wonderful peaceful atmosphere .

2022-08-07Professional, polite and prompt service, including the receptionist, in a clean establishment. The stylists are all quite knowledgeable in their craft. There is little to no cross chatter that you would see in other similar businesses. As such, the stylists put all of their focus on the client.

2022-04-23Was not so good...the appointment scheduling was a bad experience for me. I tried for several weeks to get my hair done and was very disappointed. The one time I did get it done (last year) the hair dresser had me waiting for her while she was down stairs (she was late), she rushed and told me she had another customer. I saw hair color on my pillow case the next morning. I overlooked it, since then I am discouraged.

2022-04-21My experience at Nu Wave is always a positive one, and that is the reason I wont go anywhere else for loc maintenance. I live in CT but I make the trip to Brooklyn because they are the BEST! Very professional and they are excellent at what they do. Kudos to Avion, Nicole and the entire crew at New Wave.

2022-07-09Derma took great care of my hair!! The hair wash was phenomenal-she sure knows how to scrub a scalp : )..and she gave me exactly what I asked for-locs individually braided. Thanx Derma!! :D
