I have had a great experience dealing with this company, from sales to repairs. They have a rapid response to you need when you reach out for help. When I was looking for a new wheelchair, motorized, Davie White came to my home and went through each chair that he thought would work best for my needs. He brought two chairs to show difference and then placed the order and it came quick. I appreciate all their help from beginning to now.
Monroe Wheelchair went above and beyond assisting my parents’ with lift chairs and an electric scooter. They kept me informed every step of the way. We were more than impressed with the service of each person we interacted with as well as the quality of equipment. Highly recommend!
Incredible service, again. Last Friday afternoon I received a frantic call from my mom that her wheelchair was broken. I ran straight home after work to hook up the trailer (with the help of my daughter) and get the wheelchair from her nursing home. It took forever due to the state it was in and the awful weather conditions. By the time we arrived at Monroe Wheelchair it was about 4:40 and they close at 5:00. I fully expected to drop the chair off and not see it again until the following week so when Justin took the chair into the back room I thought hed return with a copy of the work order. Instead, 10 minutes later he returned with her fully repaired wheelchair. Not only did he surpass any expectations I had, he did it with kindness and patience despite our frustrated state. Thanks Justin. You made us, and mom, very happy.
I have been thinking about a power lift chair for quite awhile. Within 10 minutes of entering the store and meeting with Andriana I knew which chair I was going to get. She did an excellent job pointing out the features of many chairs and we both agreed on the same chair for me at once. She asked the right questions and my answers brought us to the chair I wanted. Only stipulation I had was I needed it delivered that day as I had not slept good fr the past week. After doing a lot of phone calls and contacting other employees it was a done deal. Power Chairs are sold in many outlets but the quality of service I got here was great , which led to the sale
UPDATE: Received my sons wheelchair after requesting a new sales representative. Have had the chair for less than a month and the calf strap has broken and the brakes arent functional. When the brakes were completely locked, I assisted my son to standing and the chair just rolled away and was almost hit by a bus.Two people from Monroe Wheelchair came to my son’s school to talk to me about choosing a new wheelchair for him. They directed their conversation mostly to my son’s physical therapist. They didn’t seem interested in my concerns or opinions. They didn’t bring the size chair that my son would be using, so I couldn’t tell if I would be able to lift it or not. They didn’t provide any written information about the available chairs and didn’t have business cards for me to ask follow up questions.
Having the pleasure of working with Monroe Wheelchair was a great experience. The entire staff are very pleasant and compassionate. They are very knowledgeable about their product. They go beyond to be sure the customer is comfortable and satisfied, and that their needs are met.
I popped in to Monroe Wheelchair Albany NY one day without a scheduled visit to have the controls on my Permobil switched from my right side to the left. I was so pleased that there was someone who, when he had finished with a prior customer, could fix my small problem. I know that it was not major issue for them but the fact that I was not on the schedule and they made the effort to fit me in when the easiest thing would have been to have me schedule a visit at some future date. I do appreciate there very personal and friendly service.
On Jan. 4th I received some of the best service I have ever had. Mechanic Chris patiently explained the nature of my powerchair malfunction, as well as my repair options. While I waited for the repair to get done, Lacey Moore made every effort to insure I was well taken care of at the courtesy/accommodation level. I will quickly and confidently refer others to Monroe!
I was having issues with my wheelchair and had no clue as to why. I have had chair for 3 1/2 years. Never had any problems with it. The worker came in, asked how old the batteries were, and I said they came with my chair. He was shocked! But he said that was really good.
Wow! what amazing fast service and kind, helpful people at a time where I was frazzled to the bone dealing with my step-daughters serious injuries. She was released from the hospital sooner than expected so it was a scramble to get things we needed quickly. Monroe Wheelchair came through with a ramp, chair, great people, and excellent service.
Ida and Justin were so kind to put me at the top of their priority list even though it was without any appointment created they just wanted to help me personally. My chair was non-functional I was stuck out in public with no where to turn. It is horrible to lose your freedom at the drop of your hat. Fortunately the chair did start again and I made it home. But when I called Monroe Wheelchair they wanted to made sure that this never happened to me again so they came right out again with no appointment being made and made the problem disappear. Had a very bad experience with Jessica. My moms Dr. order a hospital bed and special mattress from Monroe for my 84 yr old mom. When they called me to set up deliver the price on everything had changed. I ask that they hold off and I would get back to them. Two days later when I called to ask if they got the correct mattress. Jessica told me the order was canceled and they no longer had any record of it. I asked why would they cancel the order. She got extremely rude and yelled at me . She said you canceled the order and dont try to tell me different. I asked to speak to a manager. She put Molly on the phone. Molly told me they have no record of the order. I cant image that they would submit a claim to my mothers insurance company and not have any record of it. Molly was of no assistance. When I ask what we could do to resolve this matter she said she could do nothing other than have her manager call me next week, This must be run by family. I cant imagine any one treating a customer so rude that I refuse to ever use them again. My Mom has MVP gold. Monroe wheelchair is the only medical supply place in Rochester that is in Network.So that means every other supplier is Rochester only get 70% from MVP and Monroe will get %80. Because of this they think they can be extremely rude to their customers and not care. They know they can be cheaper than other supplier because MVP pays them more. I am going to do what ever it takes to get MVP to get the other supplier back in Network..
I want to thank Adriana for her immediate help & obvious care and concern about my situation. I was given top notch assistance! Had to purchase a hoyer lift, slings, wheelchair, shower chair & hospital bed for my mom, and I needed them ASAP. I walked out with the wheelchair & everything else was delivered the next day. When I found I needed additional side rails, Adriana & Jeff have worked diligently with Invacare to try & obtain these for me. Highly recommend Monroe Wheelchair.
Very satisfied with the service until today when I received a bill for a full months rental of a power chair when I had them pick it up only 6 days into the third month. I would never have been able to stay in my own apt. without this power chair and was happy to pay the $400 a month, but I was not told that they would charge me for a full month even if I only used it for one day of the month. I kept it 6 days into the third month because I still needed it and expected to pay for a week. Nowhere on this order for the chair does it say by the month only, nor did the saleswoman tell me that. If I had known I would have to pay for another month, I would have found a way to use the walker sooner. Since I need to have my other ankle replaced also, Ill have to find another company to rent from next time. Shame on you Monroe for such poor business practice.
Had a unbelievably wonderful experience. Extremely knowledgeable and kind encounters all the way around. Ron went above and beyond to be accommodating, helpful, and and knowledgeable. Molly was also very helpful, answering any questions we had. Would recommend Monroe Wheelchair to anyone needing their services, As well as the staff that assisted us! Great great work!
. Our quadriplegic daughter depends Tbe staff and technicians were helpful., on time, and knowledgeable i hughly rheavily on her equipment. When her bed began to loose air and deflate w, we calleed Monroe Wheel chair. After a slight gap, over Christmas, they had it diagnosed and part ordered in a week. They had it installed within a week of the parts arrival, I highly ecommend them.
After not only purchasing one wheelchair through insurance and a scooter for travel cash less than a year ago. I sent my son in to get assistance from Monroe Wheelchair to remove a broken fuse from the self pay scooter. Not only did Reeka give us the parents negative attitude and rude customer service but she informed us that despite service under warranty being covered they have added a $25 fee to service. To our surprise we were never notified of this change that occurred at the beginning of 2017 but Sage assured us that irregardless of us being notified in writing regarding the new charges. We were expected to pay. There is a sign posted in the office. Hard to see the sign in Geneva. As a customer we have a right to be notified of changes and more importantly inadvance. I asked for a Supervisor, but Reeka delegated the call to Sage versus Michelle.I asked to speak to the owner Doug, but she shared he was not available. I think he may wish to invest in technology that would allow him to record his business calls for training purposes, then he would see why the reviews are as bad as they are.These are individuals with disabilities being served and most with limited and fixed income.No bonus here for being a loyal customer with multiple purchases! Customer service NON EXISTENT!
I have been a paraplegic for the past sixteen years, ever since my injury monroe wheelchair is my provider, I would recommend this facility to anyone. The quality of service is greatly appreciated every department and individual that I have talk with or come in contact with treat me with utmost respect and satisfaction.Dave Hebert, Molly, Brad, Justin are the personal I deal with.
Previously I gave this company a one star rating. Due to the lack of communication, and the willingness to take my concerns seriously and help to make sure that I got what I needed.As of today 8/18/2020. I have received my much needed equipment.This came after explaining to personnel there that this is very important to me. And I simply would like to be treated with care and respect like anyone else.And that achieving this was going to have to be a team effort. Communication is very important.Many patients/customers fall short of having their medical needs taken care of due to lack of help, not having a team of people to help them, and sometimes just not being able to fight through the red tape and brick walls that are unfortunately very much in place for those like me.I always say that, had I been Opera Winfrey, or some other famous person. There would never be anything that Id have to fight this hard for, be ignored, or expected to beg, and just take the whatever. Id receive top notch treatment.This shouldnt be a thing. We all deserve top notch treatment, care, respect, and compassion.Im thankful to all of those who didnt just hear my words, but chose to listen.Thats what all of this is about, treating others the way that wed want to treated. And being able to hopefully help someone else to see that its much easier and better to express the good in ourselves, than the bad.May everyone who reads this have much love, peace, and happiness in their hearts, for eternity and beyond.
For sales, theyre ok and theyre great when it comes to insurance processes but dont expect fast help with service for equipment. They will *never* answer the phone. If you show up to pick up your item, expect to watch people standing around for 20+ minutes chatting with each other before acknowledging you as you stare at them. Its one thing if they were talking about an item and asked you to wait a few minutes. Its another when it seems like they pretend youre not there.
I purchased a scooter thru my insurance about 10 years ago, I have been in multiple time to discuss getting a replacement, but have been given the runabout by all your people telling me how it will take 90 to 120 days and insurance will not cover it anymore. I talked with my insurance and they said the it is not true probably would only take 3 weeks I talked to your competitior and they said the same thing and they have never had excellus turn one down. I feel that your staff is very rude an unhelpful; and they dont care if they sell one or not. The previous time Lee sold me one I would like to talk with him if he is still there otherwise I feel my word of mouth about your company is not going to be very good. Richard
Everytime my brother chair needs repairs it takes them months to get the parts. They have very bad communication when it comes to service. Here it is may 25th 2020 and we been waiting on parts since December 2019. My brother cant wheel around because his chair is not safe to roll.
I would definitely recommend Monroe Wheelchair especially Wendy and Sara they were both great. Ron was a big help when finding what to buy and how it works. Also I had a question I could not find in the booklet so I called him and he knew what to do. Thanks to everyone on the staff.
Thank you to Stephanie Mitchell, who was so patient and kind to me each and every time I called regarding the arrival of my new wheelchair. It was a long process due to the slowness of the physican filling out the paper work properly and Stephanie was always ontop of the situation and keeping me informed.
They were very informing on explaing everything about the wheel chair. They put the chair together just the way they explained they would. All the colors were perfect. The chair is great for my daughter. She got it right quick. Can move it around very good. If ever we need another one we will come back. People are the best and the chair is awsome. Thank you...
They have a very good selection and are very friendly and helpful.I purchased two wheelchairs and a walker here. I have had several repairs (minor) to one of the wheelchairs; they were done quickly, cheerfully, and at no cost.Naturally, they are very accessible and have a parking lot in front of the store.
I love every person here. They have gone out of their way to make sure that I have a chair that is really fit for me and my needs. Dont waste your time going anywhere else!! Dave really knows what he is doing and I wouldnt trust anyone but him ever again!! I finally have a chair that is comfortable, useable, and will last!!! Thanks so much Monroe!!!!
My friend has ALS and has been waiting for a wheel chair for months. He is paying for Cobra which he can not afford. He can not cancel that insurance because the wheel chair was ordered through it. He cannot change the order to his new insurance or he will have to wait forever again. There is no urgency for this company to get him this wheel chair. Disgusting I will never do business with them. He is held hostage. Get it together.Monroe, he does not have much time left.
I’ve called over 20 ex along with nurses about my brothers wheelchair and not one person has assisted me they never have their ducks in a row! He’s always on the phone for hours or days until he gets help so I’m handling it now it’s been over a month and nothing! I need corporate n inner someone something cause I NEED HELP

2019-02-05Ive been using Monroe Wheelchair for my wheelchairs since I was 11 or 12 years old. The sales people are really helpful and knowledgeable about the different products and always take their time in helping me pick out the best product for me. Sometimes repairs can take longer than Id like, but its usually because theyre waiting to receive parts from the manufacturer.There are people at Monroe Wheelchair who will help process insurance claims and fight for you to get the equipment you need. Molly is the absolute best at this and shes really friendly.I love that Monroe Wheelchair is actively involved in advocating for policy changes at a state and national level to help disabled people get insurance coverage for the equipment we need. The CEO personally goes to Washington, DC to speak with legislators about the importance of ensuring wheelchair users can get the wheelchairs, cushions, and other equipment we need - and that insurance cover these things. I think that speaks volumes about the organization and their commitment to the Disability Community.

2022-04-15The repair men was courteous; he took the wheelchair into the shop promptly after we had the appointment and we waited for the repairs. It wasnt too long of a time when he brought the wheelchair back.

2021-06-15We dealt with Donna at Numotion for a scooter for my dad. She was very professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful. I would recommend Numotion to others. We had a great experience not only in the office but also Donna returned my calls and went out of her way to help us with our problem. Our issue was corrected the next day and we were fully satisfied, and happy customers. Thank you Donna for your friendly customer service and getting the job done right! Well done.

2019-12-24My step father has been quadriplegic for 5 years. During those 5 years we have run into our fair share of problems with equipment. Most recently a failing power unit on a hoyer lift, something My mother and I use with him every single day at least 4 times a day. When speaking with the Senior tech over the phone to make an appointment we told him what the issue was, we have dealt with it before and to order the part for the tech to install when he visits. Nope, done right refused. Cancelled our first appointment because there wasnt more than one call in our area (Orleans County). Now 2 days before Christmas we get a the tech, who was given no information about the issue, removes the battery, replace it back onto the lift, doesnt work. Diagnosis, bad power unit that can NOW be ordered. But wont get installed until there is another call in our area because 45 minutes is oh so far.Workers Comp isnt to pleased with the outcome either, but they can at least make changes happen. Because our case worker is amazing.Merry Christmas Monroe Wheelchair, I know ours will be.PS The Tech that did visit us was helpful kind and polite. And did the best he could with what little info he was provided. And is the only reason this review got more than 1 star. You people on the phone, and you ideology that one person can wait in there bed until they have enough calls to be worth it, is absolutely horrific.

2019-01-18I had a great experience with Monroe Wheel Chair from the evaluation visit to my home and the delivery of my new wheel chair. They kept me up to date on the insurance process and right down to when it was approved and when it was ordered and when it would be delivered to me. The tech that brought it out was very informative on the operation and warranty of the chair. So if you need a wheelchair go to monroe they are great.

Monroe Wheelchair is an efficient, well organized and caring company that values their consumers as if they were their family. From the start of ordering wheelchair batteries for my sons wheelchair from employee Jessica Cade to the finish of the tech installing them, professionalism was at its finest. They literally take care of everything from contacting the doctor for prescriptions, submitting to the insurance company, and quickly setting up a date to get the job done.And they keep in constant contact to let you know where everything stands in the process. I daresay there are a lot of companies out there who could take some lessons from them. Thank you for your service to the medical world! It was truly refreshing to deal with you.

2017-07-05We have been using Monroe Wheelchair for all of my sons needs for over 9 years! They have supplied wheelchairs and communication devices. Their service has always been excellent. Each person I have interacted with truly cares for my son and tries their hardest. It is so comforting knowing they have the experience and knowledge to help us with his needs. And I am specifically writing this because I cant believe their rating is as low as it is. Thank you Monroe!
