As well as being extremely thorough and unerring in her ability to diagnose and provide relief from my neurological issue, Dr. Shabas is.a kind and sensitive physician who inspires confidence and a sense of well-being in a patient. I recommend her and NY Neurology Associates unequivocally.
I have only met Dr. Shabas on Telemed, 4 -5 times due to the Covid restrictions. She had so much patience with me setting everything up thru FaceTime or Zoom. She spent an extra ordinary amount of time with me each time, discussing my past history and what should be done. She (and her excellent assistant Dinah) arranged for the necessary testing to be done. As soon as she received the results, she called and then took the time to explain everything. When I wasnt able to get to the testing site one morning as I wasnt feeling so well, she called me to find out how I was...amazing! She is lovely, professional, and although I think that any issue having to do with neurology is scary, she made me feel so comfortable. She is reassuring and extremely knowledgeable. I recommend her highly.
Dr Shabas was very nice and informative. She took plenty of time to listen to my story and my concerns. She is absolutely a great neurologist. Very thoughtful!

I had first visit today at Neurology Associate , I was late but everyone I met where very understanding , kind and efficient . From Dina the reception, very kind and sweet lady , Doctor Jadoo was efficient, knowledgeable and take all the time to explain my symptoms, why, what and how. She gave me an EMG at the office and Herald the radiologist gave me a NES test was very good, explained the procedure step-by-step.The office is as very clean and atmosphere very relaxing , I def raccomand this office !Thank you NY Neurology Associate!Giusi
Dr Shabas was professional, thorough and compassionate. Following the appointment, she was timely with follow up and responsive to emails with concerns.
Dr. Kaplan is wonderful - so thoughtful with his questions and careful with his examination. Recommended a few tests and made the process of going through a neurology appointment, rather pleasant. Would highly recommend!
The doctor and staff were very good. DO NOT use the website to schedule an appointment. I initially did so, only to show up and find out the website is a request for an appointment. I was supposed to get a call to confirm, which I did not. Had the website scheduled correctly, this would have been 5 star as the MD was very good.
Dr. Mohan saved my life. I am from Wilmington NC. Visited many doctors in the city of Wilmington over 5 monrhs. Could not find a diagnosis. Went to Duke University Medical center..I was in severe pain from ankles to neck. Couldnt walk. Was a cripple. Duke had no idea. $8,000.00 was my bill from there. Made it to NYC. Within 40 minutes at her office, Dr. Mohan told me what it was. She prescribed the needed medication. The very next day I was able to get out of bed unassisted. I will come from Wilmington NC for her expertise and extreme kindness. She is a miracle worker. Now that I am better I still want to visit her. She gave me back my life.
Nice office. Peaceful and staff is very nice. Dr. Jadoo listens carefully to your problems and has helped me to deal with my sciatic pain by prescribing appropriate medication.

2022-07-14I really appreciate Dr. Mikhaylova, who is receptive and explains every step of our approach to my migraines. But I also need to shout out to Bruce and Dina, who are amazing at helping me get samples and authorizations every time I start a new medication. They’re both really patient and helpful, and I wish all my doctors had staff like them!

2020-09-16Dr. Shabas at NY Neurology Associates is by far the best doctor I have ever had. I have been to countless doctors and practices that are rude and do not care about their patients. This practice is completely different. They care about their patients and in my case I have been on a long journey of finding a diagnosis for my condition. Dr. Shabas has been extremely helpful in this process. After every appointment, I feel that all concerns and questions are always addressed. I would recommend her to anyone with any neurological condition. If she does not specialize in that area she would be able to point you in the right direction. The practice and Dr. Shabas have always been polite and accommodating to my travel time and schedule.I don’t write reviews on places often, but this practice deserves an A+!

2020-08-17Dr. Shabas has been my Neurologist for more than 18 years, which predates her affiliation with NY Neurology Associates, but my visits with her at the 7 Gramercy Park West location have been very pleasant. The office is wheelchair accessible and efficiently run.The doctor really knows who I am. She understands my history as well as my medical issues; we communicate well. She and her staff are knowledgeable and work well together. Waiting times are minimal to virtually nil.Since May of this year our visits have been via Telehealth.

2020-08-13Ive been under the care of Dr. Shabas, and have been very impressed with her as a medical professional. During the time Ive spent with her, she has unwittingly shown me the love she has for her profession, as well as the genuine concern she has for her patients. Dr. Shabas has a great deal of compassion, and has called me periodically to ascertain how Im feeling, which is just one of the many things I like about her. She continues to monitor my condition, explains every medical term and procedure thoroughly, and is providing me with the best possible healthcare I can receive. Dr. Shabas has a calm demeanor which is reassuring to me, and Im grateful to have her on my team.

2021-10-07I went to see Dr. Jadoo on the UES who prescribed an MRI for my neck pain and headaches but sent me to Gramercy Park for pain relieving injections ASAP. I was seen quickly by Michael Guleski, a physicians assistant who gave me five or six syringes filled with lidicaine and other pain relievers. When I got up to leave I felt very unsteady and had to sit in the waiting room for 30 minutes. He came out to check on me and said he would come back again shortly. 20 Minutes later, I left. My heart was racing and I still felt unsteady. I came home and took my blood pressure which was extremely high and my heart rate was 120. I was scared and called the office. I left two messages, telling them what was going on. I called for a third time and the office had closed. I then called my GP who called me back in the evening and explained what he thought was happening and told me I might have to go to the emergency room that night. Later my vitals became more normal and I didnt go to the hospital. I waited to see if they would call me this morning but no one ever responded to my messages. My GP, however, did call me to see how I was doing.I would never go back to this or any other NY Neurology office. They are so uncaring and unprofessional. The dr.s may be good but go elsewhere if you want to get concerned treatment.

2020-08-13If I could give this practice 6 stars I would. I have a difficult case and cant believe my luck in finding this practice right as the pandemic struck. I worked with two doctors (Sylvia Mohan and Debra Shabas) here. They are both extremely knowledgeable, accessible and patient focused. Obviously, one expects all doctors to be this way, but I have seen too many doctors who are not. Their staff and associates have been equally concerned with getting me the care I need.Dr. Shabas in particular is extraordinarily kind and tenacious, as well a fierce advocate for the best care possible. I LOVE HER.
