Do not, I repeat, do NOT, ever, EVER go to the emergency unit here with a sprain / fracture / broken bone. I was here in April with a fractured ankle, which they misread the X-ray of and told me I was fine to go back to work and would heal in 6-8 weeks. Its now been almost 6 months. Ive become bankrupt and completely lost all sense of quality in my life as I am physically unable to work or do literally anything. As the X-ray was misread, I wasnt put in a cast and was only given crutches for my pain. The doctor even forced me to walk on it at the time, which I did not feel comfortable with or capable of but was forced to do so for a short distance regardless. It was only when I returned a month later that someone was able to read a repeat X-ray correctly and put me in a cast. This was too late, however, and I feel as though I have permanent damage. I used to be an extremely active person who was always outdoors. I am only 24 and was 23 at the time. I have spent the entire summer inside my house, losing money, and there is literally no end in sight. I am in an obscene amount of pain from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. Going here literally destroyed my life. If you are injured and considering going here in a hurry, I truly hope you read this beforehand and can save yourself.
Fair warning: DO NOT ENTER THIS HOSPITAL!!!!The workers here are trash and is in dire need of professional training. They overlap certain tasks to either draw blood or provide you with certain things. The lack of communication is horrendous where nobody knows what to do with you where you have to BEG PEOPLE to do a task that they’re supposed to do.If you’re looking to get better treatment, this hospital is not it.
I visited this hospital dec 8/2021 to get the COVID test for my sons and myself. My oldest son came positive after the 10days of quarantine I went back again Dec 18/2021 because I need the test again in order for them to go back to daycare when finally was my turn the nurse called Lydia Osei was so rude to my son because he was crying and didn’t let her do the test she gave him the swap so he could do it himself and she grabbed it of his hands so rude, she tried twice and she couldn’t do it. Then 3 days after they sent me the result positive when she didn’t even did the test. I went today Dec 27/2021 and I was explaining the situation to a little guy in charge of registration for COVID test and he came to me with a nasty attitude and called security and they kicked me out.
I arrived at the hospital as a walk in at 7:15am for the dentist since I have never been there. I was the 2nd in line. I waited an hour then was bought upstairs to the dental office at 8:15am to get checked in. I had to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and they was able to give me an appointment for the next morning for surgery. The nurses was very sweet and helped calm me down before surgery. I have metro plus and they accept and covered everything. The front desk people were fine at the entrance. I recommend this hospital for dental, I have never tried any of their other departments.
The hospital and visit were ok for a hospital no real complaint there. However, I received my vaccines in June and I am having trouble signing up for the Excelsior pass. I keep getting an error that my information does not match and that the hospital might have submitted it incorrectly, and to contact them. Well guess what, I keep contacting these guys and they are all lost. Like how do you not know what excelsior pass is. I still have not received any help as none of them know what is going on. I will be contacting the state for help.
I had the unfortunate experience to deal with the nursing staff during the covid pandemic while a family member was a covid patient. The staff ignored the patient’s buzz calls on multiple occasions, cold food was served, hot tea and food were placed out of the patient’s reach. Horrible and subpar standards at this hospital. Plus the nurses put in the notes they answered the buzz calls on time. Hard to trust what else is written in the notes that too can be completely false.
I had my first child at north central, it was an induced labor and I was not dilating. My mid wife and nurses where great, they made me feel comfortable, they tried everything to make sure I didn’t get a c section. I got an epidural and the doctor was so gentle putting it on me I didn’t feel a thing, he talked to me all the way through. For my next child I’ll definitely be going back to north central to give birth.
I have been trying to reach the doctor for the longest. I called so many times and they would hang up the phone and I tried to go in person. I was explaining my situation to them but they wouldn’t really trying to help me out. I gave the lady in the front desk my phone number for the doctor to call me back but I didn’t get anything.
Came from out of state to visit my family member on the 10th floor. Admissions let me up, they were helpful and kind, but when I arrived at the floor they told me I had to wait 3 more hours before I could come visit. The man I spoke to was rude and sent me back down to the waiting room.
Every time I go through the emergency room I have to wait, the first time was for 11hrs. I kid you not. Today 4hrs. and I still didnt receive any results. First I waited 2hrs. to be called only to wait 1 hour for an examination room to be available. I speak to Im going to guess a nurse who then claims that she needed an assistant to give me an exam? W T F 30 minutes later someone collects my urine 30 minutes later.still no doctor I leave. I am totally disgusted with their services, no consideration for people needing some medical assistance I refused to wait another 11 hrs. For treatment and or a diagnosis.
I went to get my tooth pulled out today at the dental clinic and the staff there were very nice and The surgeon Dr. Zaccariello, D and his assisstant made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole process. So thank you! The only issue that I had was that the lady at the front desk at the main entrance in the lobby spoke to me like I was a dog. I couldnt believe it. On top of that I had a very bad toothache to begin with so you can only imagine how I felt. This happened around 7:15 am this morning. I am not a dog! Im a human being! Even dogs get treated better than how she talked to me! First impressions begins once a patient steps foot into the entrance of the hospital! I hope she changes that!
The service at NCBX was absolutely amazing. The nurses in the ER were very attentive, kind and informative. The room was clean and organized. Unfortunately for me I was admitted. However, when I got up to the 9th floor. I was welcomed by a complete nurse staff. All kind people. I was amazed how everyone was so happy to help me from the doctors to the cleaning personnel. My stay was warm and welcoming.
Delivered my twins via c-section this month at this hospital. Not all of the staff but most were extremely rude and insensitive. Two midwives made snide remarks to my face about my weight. Dr. Choi is beyond rude!!!!! She made me cry! I gained 35 pounds which I tried really hard not to do because I knew she would would hurt my feelings. “ what you think because you carrying twins you can eat more”
When I first got off the elevators the first receptionist were very pleasant and attentive and helped me right away. Marlene (who was a nurse/medical staff, I believe she was Caribbean) in the GYN Clinic was professional, and kind. She made me feel at ease, she was so welcoming and showed me where to wait until I was called. The Dr did not really explain much, but Marlene and the Latina Sonogram tech were super sweet. I was not crazy about the Dr she was somewhat cold and did not explain my number levels in my pregnancy. It is important to communicate and talk to the patients they need to feel comfortable. Overall I like NCB. I am actually looking forward to giving birth here & hope my next visit goes well.
The service at the women’s health clinic in NCBH is just horrible. The secretaries have absolutely no manners and lack the sufficient knowledge to answer any questions. They are also rude and always respond with an attitude. Staff at this hospital need a training on customer service. I understand that this hospital is located in a low income community but no human should be given poor service do to economical status or race. My experience at the labor and delivery unit was just scary. The midwife had no clue what she was doing and nurses spoke bad about her in front of me. I was in the room with pain and discomfort for over two hours and ended up leaving. Come to this hospital only if it is your last resort. It’s very unfortunate that the staff here give the hospital a bad reputation.
This a city and teaching hospital the emergency staff was very compassionate and I waited 5 hours for a room thats were the good care ended. One Asian doctor woke me up at 2:10 am with info that couldve waited to to morning another taught I was a pin cushion and still didnt get my blood after 8 trys! I will NEVER go back.
Before choosing where to follow my pregnancy and delivery I checked online for information and especially reviews. I admit i had my own doubts because of not so good reviews I could read here. Anyway i decided to have my first appointment there and later decide to change if not satisfied. It is true that there is a longer waiting time than the time of the appointment but still, it is not as terrible as written here. the longest time i had to wait was 2 hrs only once and usually 1 hour most of the times I had my appointments. There were always previews mamas arriving late, thus postponing all other appointments also for the ones arriving on time. The ladies at the reception most of the time were helpful and communicative and respectful, except some spare cases when any of them was tired of working and was not polite, but none of them rejected to do their job, which meant that I took all the service I needed. Related to nurses, midwifes and OBGs I am overwhelmed to tell that all of them were supportive to me, that came to a pregnancy after loss and was terrified during this pregnancy journey. They were nice, ready to listen and give emotional and professional support to me. When i delivered my baby, they were all there all eyes and ears to monitor every heartbeat of my baby and me. Doctor Phillibert and Stern were my OBGs and I am so lucky I had them. My pregnancy was calm, and I felt sure nothing bad would happen to us this time and it was true. I delivered and the staff at Nursing and delivery with the Head Nurse and all her staff is a dream team. I will go back there in my future again because I had an amazing journey that mentally helped me to heal myself from the hurtful past experience I had and now also my son is a Jacobi patient, because I trust to their pediatricians as well.Jacobi Medical Center should work more in its PR and increase their visibility and promotion of good experiences from satisfied patients because i can see that mostly only disappointed ones are ready to rate negative reviews.
Im still here as Im writing this so I dont want to jinx my visit lol. But seriously, make your appointment by phone or stop by, dont rely on walk in appointments, after 9am youre out of luck because other walk-ins beat you to the punch. Come to your appointment no earlier than around 10 minutes prior or theyll make you wait outside in the cold to respect social distancing. Everyone here is nice which is weird for this part of the Bronx but Ill take it!
Everything there is horrible, only few staffs are nice and kind, everyone else are mad rude and mean! I was at the emergency cuz I wasn’t well! And those people told me to get dressed up, I dressed up and was sitting there for 30min and that nurse had everything with her, I thought she was waiting for something else, but then later I realized she wasn’t waiting for anything, she was there just to finish her conversation about her vacation with the other nurse! Then they told me to give them urine, was asking them for washroom and was waiting 10min for them to tell me where the washroom is, then the other nurse came, I guess she was new but she did help me find out the washroom! As soon I enter washroom it looked horrible, smells disgusting and seemed like they didn’t clean that washroom in a month! Not only that then I had a surgery needed 3 different medication but got only two, the insurance didn’t cover for the other one, so I called them on Saturday they told me to call Monday, so I called them back on Monday. Guess what they was transferring me from here to there then end up with hanging up the call, wasted 35min for no reason! Then I call them again today since 8:30am until now they keep transferring me from here to there and the nurse are so mean and rude! Thanks for the horrible service!
This hospital has absolutely NO communication skills within their own employeesTheir policy varies with shift change !POLICY IS POLICY! Am I wrong? @healthandhospitalsnycThe employees who work here need to be admitted and evaluated for mental issues! If you cannot work with people do not get jobs in customer service! One star because there is no option for zero stars!!!!!!!
The only reason why I come to this hospital is because of the Women Health Department that it is amazing but the ER SUCKS BIG TIME! I had a myomectomy on Wednesday, today is Saturday and something happened that I decided to come to the ER! I have been waiting since 11:30pm and now is 5:00am! They dont care that I am in pain, they dont care that I have an open wound, they dont care that I have been sitting down for almost 6 hours waiting to be called after having this type of surgery 4 days ago! I only came here cause I got the surgery here with my doctor, but I regret it! I should of went to Montefiore around the corner! When I came there was only 2 people ahead of me and last person they called was 3 hours and a half ago! Worst ER ever!
Worst hospital ever never ever go here. The doctors are the worst my wife was on the or table she was in pain the doctor told her to shut up and let them do their job. The nurses were the worst only about two were pretty pleasant with her n told her how to take care of her wound and herself when she leave. This was her second time so in this awful place and never will we go back here at all. She was ripped by the doctors hands when feeling in her private for the baby. She will never go back there this hospital Needs new staffing. And more doctors willing to talk to patients with care. I vote for them to close this place how many bad this have they gotten away with. Horrible place on the day of her release she wanted 4 hours for meds no one came until she begged the one nurse who was good to her. They would have allowed her to die of pain. I want to know where i can take this. N who can i complain to.
The Medicaid office is poorly staffed. People have to wait a long time to be served. Miss Anderson is extremely helpful and exercises a lot of patience. It is a tough job so it is important for the staff to show professional courtesy because all of the people coming for help are impoverished seniors who dont understand how the Medicaid system works. Please be patient
This is the worst emergency room experience I have ever had. I came because I was unsuccessful in lowering my blood pressure and blood sugar. I recieved an IV but no meds, however according to the emergency room doctor I have to be admitted to lower my pressure slowly. As of 5:45am Wednesday more I have not received treatment for neither my high blood pressure or blood sugar. To make matters worse I was admitted into a hallway, not a room.Explain how you can pay a person 14 million with service like this.
Making an appointment is a terrible experience. The people who answer the phone huff & puff, then keep you on hold indefinitely before transferring you to a line where no one picks up.How can a hospital have such horrible reviews, year after year, and still have the same management? Im done!
Worst experience ever had going to a hospital went for a covid vaccine with my daughter had an appointment and we had to wait 3 hours, people who comes last will go in first its like they choose their friends name, after the vaccine no one came to ask my daughter hows shes feeling, I toke my vaccine in montiffero hospital and my experience was great, they were caring and very professional, north central hospital needs to be professional in what they do.
This is the worst hospital ever, they’re very bias as well as unprofessional.. I’ve been attending this hospital for my prenatal care & they’ve made me feel very uncomfortable about my size as well as the color of my skin. I don’t even have an assigned doctor, I see someone different every time I go there. They schedule appointments late & sometimes don’t even notify the fact that you have an appointment. I always get a call saying that I missed an appointment I never even knew I had... 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽#JUSTTHROWTHATWHOLEHOSPITALINTHETRASH !!!!
I am giving an extra star for our mid wife she was fabulous. The pre-natal went fine. But the staff on the 8th floor (nursery) is so far the worst ever. They are rude and nasty, they were fighting in our room about medical services around 1a.m. When they tried to take blood I mean they tried...and they tried and tried 4 times, I even said humm guys youre going to be out of band aid at some points.Have you heard about staff training program?I know its not a Hotel but would this be hard to ask for kindness and hospitality, when you just gave birth and havent slept for more than 24 hours. Then when you asked for something like breast feeding cream, better buy some patience because it took us 1 day to get it.I read reviews saying this hospital was ghetto but what ghetto really means? I dont think it was ghetto it was just unfriendly and untrained to reach quality to the a better level.
My mother had a horrible experience on the 14th floor of this hospital. Since most of the workers were students they didnt even know how to put the tube that goes inside her nose at all. They had my mother with the tube put in the wrong way. My mother even vomit on the floor and they didnt clean it up even though she kept pressing the bottom she had to argue with them! Horrible service all they seemed to know how to do was waste your time so that you stay there longer and they can collect more ninety for the useless hospital they have! Stay away at all cost! Should get shut down already!
Nurse named TELFER was extremely rude and unprofessional. She caught a nasty attitude because I didnt wanna look at my arm while she prepared to draw blood. I decided to look at my phone instead and she yelled ARE YOU GONNA LOOK AT YOUR PHONE THE WHOLE TIME!? Instead of proceeding with giving me a shot she argued with me because I couldnt see why I had to look at my arm for her to draw blood. Instead she walked out with a horrible attitude and continued to mumble stuff under her breath, and had another nurse take care of me. She literally yelled at me because I didnt wanna look while she gave me a shot. What in the world??? I couldnt believe this is how a nurse would treat a sick patient. TELFER should be fired for being incredibly nasty and unprofessional. Ive heard from another nurse that she is known for treating patients poorly. If you hate your job that much then quit!
All the Indian nurses think they r the boss in this hospital.i been to every floor and all the same. Beside Indian nurses all the other dr and nurses r nice.i am going to this hospital more than 15 years now, I loved it but past 2 to 3 years I dont like it no more.i switch my hospital.
North Central Sucks the doctors are disrespectful and the staff are lazy all they do is run their mouth. I had an appt. today and I was 10mins late and the doctor blew me away and said that he can only spare 5mins mind you Im diabetic. Dr. Apolino Mateo is the worst I do not recommend him. this year past he left on vacation and left me with no medication for 4 months that says it all.
If I were shot IN the lobby of this Unspital, I would dial 911 and ask the paramedics to take me anywhere else.I do not use the word hospital to describe this place. Hospitals are where you go to be healed and where you take your loved ones for respectful care and compassion. This is none of those things. If I hadnt gotten my husband transferred from this nightmare, hed definitely be brain damaged and blind if not dead.Tell the ambulance to take you somewhere else. I would sooner seek medical care at the Bronx Zoo.
I had got an d&c at another location downtown they sent me home with 2 liters of blood in my belly so my closet hospital was North Central. They took me in emergency ran test.. come to find out I almost died.. i had lost sooo much blood had to get blood transfusion plus surgery on my belly... Thanks to NORTH CENTRAL HOSPITAL THEY SAVED MY LIFE❤❤❤❤❤P.s. All of my 3 children was born here
Ive had numerous visits to NCBH in the past, and some of them were fair - others were just super tedious (including one where the triage nurse stated to a coworker of his that I lied to him to be seen quicker, which was not the case whatsoever). My most recent visit was this past Friday, July 15th. Everyone was absolutely fantastic. The women at registration made everything very quick, 20 minutes later, I was seen by the triage nurse who was very helpful and I was admitted to the back area where I saw Dr. Burg. Liliana (spelling?) was such a sweetheart. She kept me company even though she was watching several other people and the triage nurse kept coming back to check up on me and see how I was doing. The entire team (including the nurse who placed my IV), were in sync and it was a great thing to see. Thank you NCBH for making this visit peaceful, although the circumstances were far from the latter.
I recently had my baby there and it was the worst experience ive been thru .1st i was a scheduled csection I went in during the waiting time b4 going into the OR the nurses hooked me up to monitors and forgot about me then I went in got the epidural my body didnt go completely numb and they started cutting me I felt almost everything I literally felt like that movie awake also got a tubal ligation and couldnt believe how much pain i was in . On top of that didnt have nurses help getting up from the bed when it was time and had me tending to my screaming newborn while in pain . And didnt have no support with breastfeeding . Dont know how they made it to baby friendly on news 12 guess it was luck. Highly promote Lincoln hospital baby friendly 4 sure
ER is possibly the worst I have ever been at. The staff is slow and unfriendly. I wouldn’t come back here if my life depended on it. The only reason why I even cane here is because I’m visiting family but if I was at home I wouldn’t need to go to the ER. Absolutely the worst hospital. Stay away go somewhere else if you can.
Worst experience EVER! Hospital staff stink, bad attitudes. Had to ensue written grievances as a result. Care was well below satisfactory. No follow up on secondary issues like insulin and other meds. Worst experience EVER! I would not recommend this Hospital. Will make sure my insurance does not pay for my stay.
I want to thank a certain Nurse in Behavioral Health Unit, Nurse Margo Wonge thank you for caring for my sister, l hope you will read this message. She misses you,she always says Mrs Wonge is sooooooo nice. You are beautiful inside and out. Overall the hospital treated my sister pretty well. Thank you everyone
This review is specifically for Dr. Gamboa in the pediatric clinic on the 4th floor. She has been working with our family since before our kids were born and she has been caring for them for the past 13 years.Dr. Gamboa is super patient and caring and she gives plenty of time during the visits, makes our kids feel super comfortable and really engaged them in their health conversation. NCBH is lucky to have her. We highly recommend her.
I like 5his hospital they take very good care of my husband and I ..I had my daughter here and she was sick with a rare liver disease they were amazing with her to bad they dont have a childrens wing...any way when I had my heart attack they took great care of me the nurses were very helpful and kind.
This hospital employee are so slow coz they get pay by time. Dont come this place go for montifure next door hospital. People are waiting 3 to 5 hour just for see the doctor at Emergency. I will email this city and also state about this. Coz most of people work they have bad attitude
The service in this hospital is horrible. They never give me doctors appointments when i go, they always say that my doctor is never available. I called to see if they would be able to put in a new prescription for my inhaler they said they would but it was never put thorugh to the pharmacy. Go somewhere else
The worst hospital ever I will never make anumyone I know come here I been here from morning not even one doctor I seen yet wen I came it was 4 of us n others meet me here been since n gone am still here as am typing an still waiting worst hospital don’t come here if u have pain
This is by far the worst hospital in the Bronx Im sitting here right now from major blood loss and Ive been sitting here since 3 oclock it is almost 9 oclock at night I could have bleed out in the waiting room NEVER COME HERE IF YOU NEED TO BE SEEN NEVER WORST EVER ! 👎👎👎👎👎
A very pleasant place, very attentive nurses and very good gynecology and dental staff, very good service, I recommend it and the Doctors look for all the alternatives to help the patient and the best of all they have. They are looking for a way to communicate in your language, congratulations, there are very few hospitals like this

2022-06-25Brought my mother to the Hospital. So I called to find out what the visiting hours are for patients. But the male receptionist at that time was very rude!!!!!! even on the phone. He was just yelling at me on the phone like he’s talking to a child. I don’t think anyone should yell at even a child like that. Not nice at all. Some of the staffs are not helpful at all when it comes to human relationship or customer services.

2022-05-04Literally the worst experience of my life. My epidural didnt take and the anesthesiologist blame me and decided to yell at me while my daughters head was out. Thank you for the nurse that removed her. I wouldnt go here if I was dying and it was the only place in sight

2022-03-13So far so good at NCB. My midwife has been great and so are most of the staff I have encountered. Reviews were a bit questionable but decided to try and if I didn’t like it I would switch. Have been receiving prenatal care here since December and no complaints. They always call to remind me of appointments as well as refer me to the necessary services to ensure a smooth and healthy pregnancy. I’m happy with the care I’m receiving here thus far. Thank you to all the wonderful sonographers also. They made my anatomy scan an unforgettable one. All laughs and jokes. Thank you to the wonderful staff at NCB 🙏🏽

2022-06-05Worst place EVER. Staff are so rude and do not know how to be nice. When walking in they don’t even greet you when you greet them. They are so insensitive and have no common sense when it comes to things. I would never come back here. The ladies at the “Admitting” are the rudest and entitled as ever with rude comments. If I could give a zero I would.

2022-06-25I visited the cafeteria and I was disappointed with the way you had to get your food.. tables but no service (waiter).its like a takeout, then you sit and eat from take out containers. I miss the old ways of service (someone taking your orders and setting it on the table.)

2021-12-30Do NOT get covid tested here. I arrived at 6am for a 7am opening and I didn’t even get into the clinic until 12 NOON! And they let the doctors that need tests to cut in front of you, making your wait even LONGER. You’re better off getting a covid test at a mobile van. Even if you wait 3 hours for a mobile test, it’ll still be better than waiting 6+ hours at North Central.

2022-01-10This is the worsts place, Please never go there. The staff are rude with patients. They never send me my COVID test result and I lost my flight because of that. My sister got vaccinated there are they never gave her the 100 dollars they were supposed to give. Instead they told her she need to wait 1 year to receive the money, I know that sound insane but it’s true.

2022-01-02I always get Covid 19 tested at NCBH. Friday, 12/31, I waited on line to have the doors slammed in my face. Today 01/02, I waited 4 hours on line but i was tested. You just simply have to wait but if I may, with all due respect, seeing the most handsomest Officer Smith made all the discomfort of standing for 4 hours go away. Officer Smith, I hope this doesnt offend you but OMG you took my breath away. ❤️ Hey, despite discomfort and waiting, the eye candy of Officer Smith really made it worth waiting and of course to be safe and know my COVID 19 status. If this offends anyone, sorry but i feel how I feel. Be safe and Happy New Year. You have to find the good in everything.

2022-06-02If the dental department will ever answer they phone and stop acting like they so busy some people cant just come in as an walking because of transportation issues so we should be able to schedule an appointment over the phone if they ever answer like it just rings thats sad

2022-01-19They are keeping the incentives for the children, I got both my girls vaccinated on 12/10/2021 and I’m still waiting on the “email” that takes 3-5 days. And why are their vaccine cards smaller then every other center!
