I was there last week and I have to say that this was the first time that the inspection went smooth. I was in and out within 30 minutes. If your vehicle is up to date,you shouldnt be there that long. Like any other business in new York , you will have your good days and bad days.. while waiting for my inspection to get done I saw a few cars that I really dont know how in the world they are even allowed on the road. But hey to each their own . Not siding with TLC but 150000 vehicles against 15 inspectors you think about it..
We went for registracion. it was quick service,everyone was wearing their mask, only one person per vehicle is allowed inside so I waited not more then 20 min. and that was it. Very good. could have been less money due to the pandemic but what can you do. Need to work, its worth it but THIS time could have been less $$.
Worst place on earth. Besides the fact they pass and fail cars on their own rules and not following city laws, the employees are just extremely rude in general. No one is helpful, and everyone is hurtful and rude like nothing else. Power abusers and the sad part is, drivers do not say anything with the fear of getting their cars failed! Sad case here in TLC.
Called the number to ask questions. the guy barely understands what Im asking and extremely rude and hung up the phone. very ignorant workers and a holes!Update: the TLC tricks drivers to drop off their tlc plates at the dmv for storage and then tells dmv to surrender them, and basically took my plates away!
So bad. l had to visits here my Tlc car inspection unfortunately. Staffs were so lazy and careless. chatting each other and doing nothing, also they walk like a tortoise while they’re doing service . They really don’t know how to talk to client or human being. they must have learn this thing first etc .Unprofessional service. I arrived 1 hour early to appointment, waited for one and half hour. Do not give out appointment times if you can not serve within the hour. they don’t even deserve one ⭐️. Worst employee ever seen.
These people here working in a line up lot are extremely rude to drivers. They take advantage of being a TLC officer, they try very hard to act tough as if they are cops. I have seen them yell at drivers for absolutely no reason just to humiliate them. It would be helpful if someone to act on this issue and tech them little manners/customer service skills.
The worst worst worst worst worst worst worst worst place. Currently waiting in line and writing this review. They failed me last time for not having lights that my car never had. Had to come back with dealers papers stating my car don’t have that light. Also seen someone pay 20 dollars to pass. Waited here for 4 hours last time just to know that I failed for the light that The manufacturer never put in the car. The lines are super super super super slow
Sounds like an older white male who answers the phone, never wants to help me with anything. His answer for everything is, “I don’t know call customer service. Thats their job I don’t know nothing about that.” Please help me to understand, why do you work for a company and represent their name but don’t know anything about it. I would expect that response from a unionized worker. He does not need to be answering phone calls at all.
Failed my vehicle days before the biggest workdays of the year. The inspectors dont know crap. Unprofessional let women drivers cut in line. They failed the car because I had a small baby on board sticker on the back of the car. And my small unnoticeable marker light on the front thats just there for show and has no use whatsoever. These guys are the lowest of the lows. If we drivers treat the customers the way they treat us. They fine us $1000.
Worst place ever!!! Employees are super lazy and fat, cant even walk, you have to come up to the window to show them the appointment letter. Rudest people ever. The security guy feels like he is an FBI employee or Air Marshall. It took three hours to get my car inspected. There is no please, thank you, all of them are rude. Security guy in the booth watches YouTube videos while you are trying to get your car in the right lane for the inspection. Ignorant lazy fat people!!!! They should all be fired.
Bad service.To hard to get what you looking for.No body smile here.Stressful.Complicated.When you call you have to wait 2 hour.When you go there you have wait 4 hour.Etcetera...The guy with the glasses at the front OMG, hes the worst, buddy you are doing that every day, enjoy your job, help the people, thats suppose to be your job, if you dont like it quit.Five star for the security team they make a good job.
Very rude, bad service, bad attitude, treat people like garbage, always in a bad mood dont like what you do quit. People there if they can be call that just dont give a F#@$. We are paying this guys salary and this is how they treat us. The only nice person in that building is the lady at the gate.
Not worse than the TLC. But these people are Employees there pretty tough and they dont tolerate or take any execuse, the ladies there are great, only ladies, one of them is so sweet and calls everybody honey, LOL.Inspectors are very rude, they dont explain the vague corrections that needs to be done, they expect u to google or have a knowledge for everything.My experience with them was only once with a like new car, thats why they didnt give much of a hard-time.The suck though.
Worst organization ever. Many employees are rude and far away from any type of common sense. I’m not talking about TLC officers, they act like drivers are their slaves and drivers must pay them though demonic high fines for very small mistakes. I believe TLC is the worst in whole NYC administration
This facility employees are too bz with there conversations that they make you wait .In the office employee is on there phone talking instead of doing there work and not answering the office phone I know cuz I called several times before coming here and these are city workers .looks like no rules or regulations apply to you if you work for city .
Horrible customer service! They dont explain why you failed (i feel bad for new drivers). Also, they are racist they treat you as if you dont understand English. All they are bloodsuckers and a big monopoly that control the taxi industry in NYC. For all the money that we pay they should atleast work on their customer service.
Disgusting.. I had passed TLC last inspection with frontbumper gurd. Now renewel time they gave violations for front bumper, but my friend told me last week his other friend passed with front bumper. So what is the law they don’t know just make discussions on the spot ... which is not Hustle for or making annoying to driver . What will happen if we have bumper just save our expensive car..
I dont understand why TLC has to give the clients up to 2 months to wait for the license, we are paying a lot of money to wait up to 2 months. Why not email a temporary paper with ID info just like DMV does which makes more sence since people are waiting for it to start working.
They have to find tons of mistakes, no matter how fine your car is. After that they will give you a bullshit letter (of confusing language) to show it to the mechanic. Sometimes our mechanic brothers dont understand those language and cant done the work 100%. So guess what! You have to run back and forward from tlc to your garage at least 5 times between 9am to 4pm. A Total nightmare
The worse place in the earth. The first entrance one species looks like human seating at the booth, wont even come to ur car to get the paper. He will ask u to get out of the car and walk to give him the paper. Seriously?? What a joke. Thats what u pay for.At the second booth that guy wont even take ur greeting. Come On be respectful to the drivers. Without us you are jobless.I hope Tlc would notice that. Though they do nothing for the drivers.
There are 3rd world inspection agents that are very rude, speak broken English and do not follow proper protocol. Preferring to show off their stupidity and uncivilized traits and awkwardly trying to imitate Western ways. what is it that you dont understand about what I said, he says in totally broken, curled-tongue English?! The guy scrapes the sticker off my windshield and leaves the pile of garbage sitting on my dashboard. And you pay $75 for this 3rd world crap?! The city ought to inspect these workers and send them back where they came from! Poor communication skills, bad attitude, totally rude and ZERO protocol!
Rude driver. Ripped us off. Drove 30mph on a clear highway with cars honking all around to make the trip longer. Demanded we pay cash for going through the tunnel--21.00. Didnt give a receipt for that even though I asked for one. Trip cost 58.00 with another cab company 94.00 this time. Rude driver. Time for Uber
The question ,, why is this place so hated,,, Lol, lol,,, to much to list. I guess everyone suffers from a form of one being power hungry. This specific government agency truly know how to take advantage of the people of all race ,,, especially for the ones looking for the opportunity of the American dream. The sad truth is ,,, this so call TLC organization needs to restructure , they should get rid of all the negative management and dead weight staff and with this said hopping the TLC with so much potential would be a healthier positive environment ,,. I guess this would be wishful thinking ,,,,, lol,,lol, lol, .
Nyc tlc is hiring new drivers who doesn’t know how to drive and not enough driving experience which couse lots of life danger both passanger and people on street.like other country taxi drivers must have minimum 2 years of driving history which make more safe. Should have minimum years of driving record to become taxi driver. Tlc should immediately put new rules and regulations to become taxi driver for better and safer road.
I went there a few times and I was worried because you dont know if you pass or not.when I passed on first try I passed when I failed on first try I corrected the mistakes and I passed.but there is one thing I like tlc told me to keep the car for two more years because they changed the law a few week earlier because I was ready to buy a new car.and the wait time is getting better as compared to previous years

2022-04-07My car was missing dashcam sticker and one of my side marker was not working. That’s why they failed me but then Campion Explained it to me really nicely, he was really professional. Therefore, I was able to correct the things and get the inspection done again on the same day.

2018-12-29You wait so long for an appointment in my case months. Only to arrive at the appointment time and wait on long lines. I fail to see the point of the appointment if Im just waiting around and will definitely not be seen at my scheduled time. Drivers provide an indispensable service to NYC and are treated like garbage. TLC is financed by the fees drivers pay and we are routinely abused. Would anyone in any other industry put up with waiting hours after an appointment time?

2022-01-01I actually had very pleasant experience here , though I failed my inspection. So I missed my appointment time by 10 hours and I came that late , and the gate guy didn’t let me through , but he directed me to speak to a supervisor. After speaking to the supervisor and told them what went down that day ;at first they didn’t want to let me in , but then they did let me in .I failed the inspection and I’m going back to re-inspect and pass this time , but I can’t blame anyone for failing other than my self !

2021-03-16They always find a problem with Your TLC vehicle whether you went to the mechanic or not. Dont even bother wasting your money on a repair shop beforehand. Its inevitable!

2021-02-27Came for inspection here today after 2 years.. I have to say the place is very well 100% organized then before. On time appointment car inspections are done now. All the officers were very professional & helpful. Ive been in TLC business since about 25 years now I have to say I never had this kind of great experience here ever before 👏👏 Keep up the great work(TLC Dept Woodside) guys... As us drivers will keep moving NYC! We all have to work together TLC Dept & US TLC Drivers to make this Great City back moving again safely like pre pendamic. 🙌🤝💪🤜🤛🙂🍎
