I’m a professional athlete and performer that has worked with Cirque du Soleil and many other international shows in the capacity of a dancer , acrobat and aerialist.A few months ago I Injured both my shoulder and Neck pretty badly during practice, a fact that put me out of commission for quite some time. I was lucky enough to cross paths with Dr Lev Kalika after doing some research online. Thanks to Dr Lev Kalika and the amazing job he did i am now able to go back to my aerial and acrobatic practice. I also have to applaud the staff at the clinic for being extremely helpful, professional and kind. I highly recommend that you visit Dr Kalika if you are suffering from an injury, especially if you are a professional athlete or performer and need High-level Rehabilitation that will get you back to work sooner then later
I had surgery on my spine and suffered from PTSD and chronic pain, tried many different places for PT, nothing helped much. This place is a game changer, the found treatment specifically for me and absolutely different from what i was used to, honestly thought id never get better, i felt great after just one full treatment, i did massage, PT, shockwave therapy. I felt like I could move my neck again and felt free from pain and fear to do anything, I really appreciate the help and it pushed me to do more with myself and not be scared. Id highly recommend for people who tried everything and suffer from pain daily.
I have had left back pain for almost four months… very acute and sometimes I have to raise my left arm above the head to release the pain temporarily. I have tried acupuncture, messages, taking Advil and even tried a French healer when I was in Europe. I was very lucky being introduced Dr.Kaika via my personal trainer. Today is my fifth weekly session with him and my back pain has totally gone. Actually I felt very less pain even after the first treatment session with Dr.Kaika! What Dr.Kaika provided is a very comprehensive, advanced, safe and effective way to treat individual’s pain by finding the real cause of the chronic pain and heal it totally. I found it very unique and would highly recommend to everyone who has or might have spine and body structure problems.
Words can’t express how grateful I am to this team for everything they’ve done to help me towards my healing journey. I went from doctor to doctor and PT to PT with symptoms that couldn’t be understood and pain that couldn’t be described. I had neck pain, back pain, leg pain, neuropathy issues and I was too through. I cried everyday for months because I didn’t think anyone would be able to help me. I prayed everyday for help and finally God provided. I found Dr. Kalika. He checked everything! My posture, my stance, my muscles, everything! And came up with a plan. I had a baby 2 years ago and had a lot of little problems, but he targeted each one and gave the team an update each time. My biggest issue was myofascia and a very weak core. From there Dr. Michelle and Dr. HyunJu went to work! They are incredible! Every week I got better and better. Less symptoms, less pain, less crying. Through deep tissue massages for my fascia and muscles and body/ core strengthening techniques, I was feeling stronger. Even then Dr. Kalika, checked in with me to check my progress and evaluate what else may be causing me issues. One big one was sciatica! I was able to find much relief through shockwave and dry needling. I was afraid but he assured me that it would really help and it did!. They have the newest technology that can help in so many ways and they don’t stop searching for new ways to help. From pain to posture, they help correct it all. They are caring knowledgeable and surpass every expectation of what PT looks like at other places. They work with you one on one and give you the time and care that you need! Please give this rehab a try. It saved my life.
I had knee pain from osgood-schlatter disease for several months which prevented me from participating in sports and physical activitiy because the pain made it incredibly difficult. I paused from these activities for around 5 months, without any significant progress. I was recommended to see Dr. Kalika by a family friend, and the support and treatment he provided allowed me to return to action in a couple weeks. I am now able to play soccer fully again with barely any knee pain and clear improvement from my previous state. Both Dr. Kalika and the staff provided with some of the best physical care I have ever experienced, with weekly check-ins too see how the treatment is helping me. I really am grateful for the help Dr. Kalika has provided and recommend that anyone experiencing some physical pain/discomfort should certainly visit him.
Our son is a very active soccer player and was experiencing knee pain. After coming to Dr. Kalikas office, he determined he had knee tendonitis and began treating him for it with shockwave therapy. After only a few sessions our son began feeling better. Dr. Kalika and his staff are very attentive and take their time with their patients. I will definitely recommend him to anyone experiencing any pain.
Dr. Kalika is a godsend. He’s a very patient person who genuinely cares about his patients. He’s one of the most caring doctors I have had the pleasure of having. In a nutshell, I feel fortunate and blessed to have found Dr. Kalika when I did! From April through early August 2021, I had seen 2 orthopedic doctors, 2 chiropractors, 1 physical therapist, 2 acupuncturists, and 1 MFR therapist, to help diagnose and tackle my painful hip/groin pull (acute from a recent injury) and my low back pain (chronic) that left me feeling miserable and incapable of being physically active. After x-rays and a MRI, the ortho doctors tried to give me hydrocortisone shots and said I was a candidate for surgery for a partial tear in my hip labrum. I told them ‘no way, good-bye’! I continued to live with pain, popping 800-1,600 mg of Advil per day, walked with a limp, and started having difficulty with squatting or bending over. Acupuncture was the only temporary fix. I just knew I had to keep looking for answers and found relief after finding Dr. Kalika’s website and watching all of the videos about ultrasound, dry needling and shockwave therapies. I took a leap of faith and called his office. Since Day 1, my treatment has been a personalized, holistic approach at tackling my pain and targeting my ‘real’ health issues. During my first appointment, Dr. Kalika spent a great deal of time using the ultrasound to discover several tendinopathies, issues with my psoas muscle, hamstrings, adductors, and several other muscles in/around my low back that were contributing to my pain and limited mobility. He explained the benefits of shockwave therapy (ESWT) and dry needling. We discussed a treatment plan that included coming in 2-3x per week taking a team approach to tackle my pain and health concerns. It was a big commitment for me to pursue, but I seriously just wanted my life back where I wasn’t struggling with constant pain, completely unable to ride my bike, hike, play with my nephews, or do any of my ‘fun’ physical activities.I am seen by his entire team – Dr. Yo for physical therapy (2-3x/week), Dr. Agyakwah for soft tissue and myofascial release (1-2x/week), and Tatiana for dry needling acupuncture (1x/week). I have had 4 weeks of shockwave therapy. All of these combined therapies are magically working together to help me feel better. This comprehensive, holistic approach is relieving my pain and has helped increase my mobility and flexibility. It is remarkable! His team, to include Julia (she’s the best, thank you for everything), is absolutely wonderful. They go the extra mile to make sure all is well during and after my treatments. I’m on a healing journey and recognize the healing will continue over the next 2-3 months from the shockwave therapy. I will post an update in a month or so on my progress as I continue with my weekly treatments. In closing, Dr. Kalika and his team always take the time to explain things to me in terms that I can understand. He’s diligent in making sure my health is the best it can be. He’s proactive, curious, and always asking me – how do you feel today – show me where it hurts. He won’t stop until he discovers the root cause of your health issues. He helped solve my mystery, which is a huge relief in knowing I do not need hip surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Kalika to anyone seeking a kind, compassionate, and brilliant doctor! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Dr. Kalika and Team :)
Dr. Lev Kalika and his team are amazing at what they do, Ive had problems with my foot and groin for years, i went to 3 different Urologists they never helped me, I swear Id convinced myself I had some unknown testicular disease, Dr Kalika had figured out right away my first visit what was causing the pain with my groin and foot..For my foot pain I had went to numerous physical therapists in the area I lived in, none of them helped me and I felt absolutely hopeless. My mother introduced me to Dr. Kalika, I thought it was pointless with all my other failures with physical therapy, I went there more for her rather than for myself. After my first visit seeing all the equipment they have and being walked through how they work and all the procedures I felt good , I felt hopeful, Id recommend Dr. Kalika to anyone..I know it aint easy but dont be hopeless...never be hopeless, always stay positive, stay☝up. .you can do this folks! 🙂👌🙏
Dr. Kalika and his team have been absolutely phenomenal. Ive been dealing with chronic pelvic pain for over three years and have seen several pelvic specialists in the city with little or no success/improvements. Dr. Kalika has treated my pain by looking at my whole body, not just the pelvis in a vacuum, and identifying areas of concern and working diligently and compassionately to help heal my whole body. Through a multimodal approach with PT, dry needling, ultrasound, shock wave therapy and other movement techniques, I will soon be pain free again. Previously, I didnt think Id ever see a pain-free day again, but with Dr. Kalika Ill be back to a healthy, pain free lifestyle soon. Id 100% recommend him.
Ater more than 5 years of arm pain, shoulder pain, MRIs, Medications, epidural injections and being told this was a cervical neck issue. Dr Kalika diagnosed biceps tendonitis and muscle issues within the first half hour, that I am completing treatment for. I thank him and the practice for helping me get back on track again with my pain. The physical therapy combined with some shock treatment, and I know I am finally coming out of the dark into the light of pain free body. The practice is wonderful, and it is obvious everyone likes working there and they want to do the best for their patients. I always look forward to my treatments. Thank you!
I was in a limousine accident almost 3 years ago. I’ve been suffering from chronic neck and back pain and spasms. I saw 3 physiatrists, 5 physical therapists, 3 acupuncturists, 2 chiropractors and 2 neurologists. I found Dr. Shawn Volney on Zocdoc who recommended me to Dr. Kalika. After just 2 sessions of shockwave therapy and one of dry needling I started getting relief. I was able to stop the pain killers and reduce the use of heating pads. At this rate, I’m confident I’ll be pain free by the end of the treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Kalika.
I was apprehensive about the procedures that Dr Kalika laid out to help me with my TMJ. But I was in a lot of pain so I trusted him. I am amazed to say after five appointments my jaw pain is completely gone, and he and Michelle unlocked some back and neck tightness that I didn’t even know I had. Highly recommend!!
Short version:This review is long overdue. I have been coming to the NYDN clinic since 2019 (for different issues). Short version, Dr. Kalika leads an amazing team that can solve some of the most challenging issues. They are truly invested in helping you to get back to your healthy self, while other clinics may be more interested in your insurance $. They will find the right treatment to help you. Id give them 6 stars if I can.Long version:I first came to the clinic to solve a long standing problem of plantar fasciitis. The situation worsen and I was dealing with the excruciating pain with my heel. I visited a number of clinics for treatment. In the end, it was Dr. Kalika and team that made the pain go away via their holistic treatment, leading edge technology and advanced techniques.Since then, NYDN is my first stop for my chronic backpain, various injuries (ankle sprains). With the covid-19 pandemic, the team take utmost care and diligence in the clinic. I feel safe in coming in and be treated by the staff. Everyone there is professional and they genuinely want you to feel better about your health. The office staff will always happy to work with you on your scheduling.
I started coming to nydn rehab last December after breaking my elbow. My surgeon said I’d regain about 80% of motion after my break. I started seeing Dr. Kalika and the team here since it was convenient to my office and it was the right choice! Everyone from Dr. Kalika, the therapists (I saw everyone 😊 but mostly Dr. Kalika, Christina & Miriam) and the receptionists (love them) are professional and fantastic people. I stopped coming after the city shut down for covid in March and didn’t resume as I was pregnant/about to have a baby, but didn’t necessarily need to! I regained about 95% of motion as a direct result of my therapy here. My surgeons where shocked and very impressed once I finally saw them again.Thank you team!
I am the biggest fan of this place. I started about almost 5 months ago and have been coming twice a week and I have never felt this level of relief and strength.I was recently diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and have chronic pain aka this is not my first round of physical therapy (and I have gone to other great places), but this is the most in depth, and holistic approach to my healing that Ive experienced-- and they knew what it was!! Having PT, Chiro, and Acupuncture (and several useful machines like a Pilates one, K.A.R.E.N [which Im excited to try], etc) and attending to my joints from all angles simultaneous has been amazing.I also underwent Shockwave Therapy (4 sessions) and have seen immediate results in the strength and stability of my hip that would ache once a week (if lucky). Painful, but looking forward to strengthening it more now that it feels more stable. Also the most helpful front desk team! Always helpful and kind.Dr. Kalika, Michelle, HyunJu, Tatyana, and everyone in the front really care about their patients and their individual needs. All I can say is, THANK YOU!! (and see you next week)
I called NYDNRehab in the beginning of May during Covid cause I developed significant pelvic pain. I was not sure that this can be helped by Telehealth physical therapy , but doctor Kalika helped me managed it through explaining pelvic floor self releases and very cool gait exercises. I have visited his clinic since July and now after nine weeks of pelvic floor physical therapy I am eighty percent pain free.Strongly recommend Dr. Kalika and his team.
Wow! Im healthy, physically fit and active. But Id been having a lot of neck pain. Per an excellent recommendation I visited NYDN Rehab to see if they could help me. Even after one visit I felt better. After 3 weeks, Ive finally released the chronic tension in my shoulders. My posture has improved. Im more aware of how to use my muscles, and Im finally understanding how to take care of my body. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and knows how far to take each session. The staff regularly communicates with each other so you can see any of them without losing ground. They are an amazing team that will help you re-find your amazing body!If you you are even considering physical therapy or chiropractic care, 100% go to NYDN Rehab!
Dr Kalika and everyone at NYDN have been amazing for treating several of my long term injuries Ive dealt with. I had problems with hamstring tendonitis from years ago, ankle pain after a past surgery, and overuse injuries with my achilles. Dr Kalika is extremely skilled with using diagnostic ultrasound to figure out exactly what is wrong before treating you and could immediately see where my injury was when many other imaging tests I had gotten in the past had missed it. The practice offers everything I need to recover. They have shockwave to help heal and gain analysis to help prevent future injuries. Everyone who works in the office has been super friendly and helpful with answering questions and scheduling visits. So thankful I found a place that can diagnose everything and help me recover!
Dr Kalika and his staff are a team of healers that are there for you every step of the way on your journey back to health and stability. They are very personalized and thorough! I have never felt rushed, and I am constantly challenged on new ways to get my body back to its full potential. Thank you for all of your love and care so that I can continue to get back to my passion of dancing.
Frankly speaking, I never thought of chiropractic as a serious treatment method until my previous doctor said I needed surgery to get rid of my chronic back pain. I felt depressed and decided to consider all alternative options before going under the knife. Happily, I found NYDNRehab, a clinic providing chiropractic care in Manhattan NYC. Their specialists designed an all-natural and non-invasive treatment plan specifically for me. It included manual therapy, massage, and spinal manipulation. As a result, I safely got rid of the problem without surgery.
Dr Kalika and his staff are absolutely wonderful professionals and Im thrilled that I finally found them! After years of living with shoulder pain and being told by a variety of doctors and therapists that there was no diagnosis and no way to help, Dr. Kalika was able to diagnose the cause of my pain and develop a course of therapy that has meaningfully improved my condition and quality of life. I have experienced manual therapy, graston technique, strength training, ultrasound guided dry needling, accupunture, electro therapy and more all in the effort to address my pain and retrain my body. It has been phenomenally thoughtful and impactful. They take a holistic and educated approach to healing and strengthening. The staff and practitioners listen and are very well trained in their craft. I would recommend them to anyone and Im so lucky to have discovered them.
Absolutely THE BEST for physical therapy. Dr. Kalika and his team find and treat the root causes with talented staff and state-of-the art technology. Before I found NYDN, I had only sub-par experiences with others that treated symptoms but did not solve my problems.Highly recommended!
I have been struggling with ongoing back pain for a couple of years. Different traditional remedies brought slight or no results. In addition, I developed an allergy to the strong meds I was taking so I had to stop. I started looking for a natural treatment through chiropractic care in NYC and I stumbled upon NYDNRehab. The next day, I went to their clinic in Midtown, was greeted by a friendly staff, and received an individual treatment plan that included massage, trigger point therapy, and mobilization therapy. A month after starting treatment, I feel great. My back pain has completely gone, thank God, and I am able to do all the things I love again.
I used NSAIDs and pain killers to treat my chronic knee pain but the results were temporary, and relapses occurred again and again. My friend referred me to Dr. Lev Kalika at NYDNRehab, one of the best NYC physical therapists. At our initial meeting, Dr. Kalika conducted a clinical exam, analyzed my gait and prescribed a series of posture retraining sessions involving a special computer-assisted virtual environment. I adopted healthier movement patterns and got rid of my knee pain once and for all.
I spent months dealing with chronic head aches, ear aches, back pain and throat pain. I went to multiple doctors and no one could really figure out what was wrong. I managed to find the New York Dynami Nueromuscular rehabilitation center through google reviews and figured I would give it a shot. My expercience was amazing to say the least. Dr. Lev Kalika was able to figure out my problem almost immediately. I would say that after 1 month of going through the treatment I would say that I have improved by alotTo the point that I rarely feel any of of the symptoms i mentioned before. I saw Dr Michelle Agyakwah and Dr. Kalika the most and they are both really friendly and profesional. The same goes for the front desk as well. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
Approximately 1.5 years ago, I had the honor of being diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called the Parsonage Turner Syndrome. After a few months of chiropractic adjustments, and physical therapy with no success; I was advised by Dr. Visco from Columbia Hospital to consult with Dr. Lev Kalika at NYDNRehab.Dr. Kalika estimated I will make full recovery in roughly 2-4 months, and suggested that I begin my treatment with Vojta Therapy. From my understanding, the treatment method is widespread in Europe, but not commonly practiced in the US.Within only 3 sessions in 1 week; I have made significant recovery. For the first time in years, I could feel sensation and strength in my affected wrist, and fingers. There is finally stability in my affected shoulder as well; and sensations of tingling and gliding throughout my upper back, and arm are much more manageable (and Im confident will disappear). My treatment is not yet over, but I have full confidence now I will make full recovery by the end of my program; and I honestly wish I had gone sooner. If youve been diagnosed with Parsonage Turner Syndrome, or other neuromuscular disorders; I sincerely recommend Dr. Kalikas expertise.
Dr. Kalika was able to quickly identify the source of a chronic, post-surgical pain problem that numerous physiatrists, physical therapists, acupuncturists and chiropractors completely missed. His practice is unlike any other in NYC - he actually listens, accurately diagnoses and provides a truly unique level of treatment. I consider myself lucky to have found him and I am pleased to give him my highest recommendation.
Dr. Kalika was recommended by a friend of mine. my first visit with the doctor was in 2019 for my knees for patellar tendonitis in both knees. Before Dr. Kalika I was seen by several specialists and none of them were able to help me. All suggested to quit physical activity. Dr. Kalika was able to correctly diagnose, determine the root cause of the issue and successfully cure it. Dr.s office is equipped with the state of the art medical equipment. Staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr. Kalika. His office is conveniently located in Times Square area and has flexible operational hours.
My son, who is now 13, was diagnosed with Oshgood Shlatter by his knee doctor. After many different methods and procedures , I decided to give the electronic shock treatment a try. My son experienced immediate pain reduction after the first session, which was very pleasing to him. The pain subsided more and more after each session but didnt completely go away by the last session. We started working out, albeit moderately, doing more strength work on his quads. After about a month after the last session, all pain the one knee was gone and did not return. I continued to monitored my sons progress for the next few months and still no pain. We increased the load and still no pain. It was at that point where we decided to treat his other knee. The progress seems to be good....no pain. Dr. Lev did recommend additional strength training routines for the next month after his last session, but overall it has been a great success. He did advise that the pain could return so we have been taking his advise seriously and applying it as much as possible. My son is a runner, so as anyone could imagine having 2 bad knees, from OSD, was quite an issue. From what I researched, normal recovery time is years depending on the sport and treatment options. I really needed to try something to give him a shot at a basic level of performance without pain. So far, so good.
Went in to see Lev Kalika for pain I was having in my elbow (tennis elbow). He quickly diagnosed by problem and came up with a treatment plan to make sure that it didnt become a recurring injury. I went through 4 sessions of shockwave therapy and some PT. Very satisfied with the attention of the clinic. Have done some work with Mo and Christina as well - both very knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend their services to anyone.
For decades I was experiencing increased pain which started in my feet and eventually spread to my knee, hip, & back. It stemmed from an old high school football injury that I had ignored for decades. My primary doctor advocated physical therapy in order to address the underlying cause of my pain, but I would tell myself I had no time. Over the years, I tried a variety of over-the-counter shoe inserts with limited success. I even consulted with a podiatrist who sold me a custom (and expensive!) pair. However, the increased physical demands that came with raising my first child made the pain I had been living with pretty much unbearable. Even simple things like picking my son up or putting him in his car seat caused great discomfort. I was miserable and needed to take a different approach. After researching several physical therapy locations, I finally decided on Neuromuscular Rehabilitation as they have a good review history, a convenient & clean location, and utilize cutting edge equipment & technology. It has been a month since my initial consultation and I am very pleased with my progress to date. We started with a diagnostic and some baseline functionality tests. We even used ultrasound on my knees. From there we worked on strengthening via a variety of stretches and exercises. More recently -- now that I have rebuilt up some strength -- I was introduced to their advanced gait lab which is absolutely fantastic.I am told that while my case isnt severe (ie: dont recommend surgery), there is still a lot of work to be done on my road to recovery. However, my pain and discomfort levels have been reduced drastically and I am optimistic about my overall long-term outcome since I am now addressing not only my symptoms but the underlying root causes. I am so pleased with my progress to date that I would highly recommend Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation to anyone considering physical therapy.
I came to Dr. Kalika after a hip injury 3 weeks before my first marathon. He suggested coming in a few days a week and laying off the running until the race. While I was pretty much done training, I was nervous to take so much time off before the big day. Thanks to him and his staff, I was able to run all 26.2 miles pain free and nearly meet my race goals. It was a very special day for me and I couldnt have done it without his help. Thank you!
I started to see Dr. Kalika with lower back and knee pain. I had already seen three other doctors and gone through PT which only made it worse. Within a week my symptoms got better. I am continuing treatment with him and am sure he will help me to get my life back.He works with state of the art technology. CAREN is an incredible machine and a total new way of rehabilitation. Dr. Kalika is a complete package with various degrees. Having a PT and massage therapist at the same place is a huge advantage.I can only recommend this practice. You cannot wish for a more caring and all round practice.
My husband and I have both been treated at Doctor Lev Kalika office; me for a frozen shoulder and him for an inflamed elbow joint. We have received excellent treatment. The office is conveniently located and equipped with the latest in medical technology. Doctor Kalika was able to diagnose me right away, even demonstrating the problem areas to me on the sonogram machine. The staff is educated and friendly and the office is very organized with their scheduling. I am able to schedule lunchtime appointments and never have to wait more than 3 minutes, and am able to get a variety of treatments in one visit.
Dr Kalika is an amazing doctor! He really an expert knows on human body. I have had lower back pain for years. Dr Kalika was able to correctly diagnose my condition and prescribed exercises and stretches that helped my condition from day one. The therapy sessions are always individual and never rushed. Everybody in the office are extremely helpful. I highly recommend!
I dont generally write review for a business unless I feel it worth a 5 stars rating. In Dynamic Neuromuscular, I can say Im receiving the most knowledgeable, care, and personal attention available. I went to Dr. Kalika for a 3 months rehab after rotator cuff surgery. At the beginning, I had a lot of pain going into the treatment, Dr. Kalika knows how to work with patient like me and eventually I was able regained my strength and mobility. Dr. Kalika keeps a close eye on my progress and always works towards the best interest for me. I could not have asked for more than that! Thanks.
I had researched the Janda approach to understanding body imbalances and compensations, and when I learned that Dr. Kalika had trained under Janda himself, I thought an initial trial visit would be worthwhile. So I went to see Dr. Kalika and his team understanding that they would be looking at my full body mechanics to get to the underlying source of my continuous / chronic lower back pain.My first session confirmed that I had found a physician who would look at my body mechanics in their entirety. Dr Kalika himself spent more than 1.5 hours with me, putting me through different movement patterns; analyzing my gait and how I distribute pressure across my feet; the positioning of my hips and shoulders. This first evaluation led to a three-part treatment program for my feet, hips and upper body.My treatment under Dr Kalika and his team involved visits 1 or 2 times per week over about 2-3 months, following a gradual evolution of different movements and movement re-training. While this may sound too slow / gradual to many who are used to common US medical practices (take this medication), I was looking for long-term solutions, not quick but transitory relief. It is now less than 3 months later and my lower back pain has permanently gone. The mechanics of my walking gait have improved, as has my overall posture. The results are so clearly improving my movement mechanics for the long-term that I will continue with the treatment until I have got as much out of it as I can - to me that is likely to be the key to staying injury-free and injury-resistant in the future.I highly recommend Dr Kalika to all those who want to find the true source of their bio-mechanical pain, and solve it for the long-term.
About 2 years ago I started experiencing lower back pain which referred down by left leg. After seeing a physiotherapist in Australia, I was sent to get an MRI which showed a bulging disc in the L4/L5 area. Since then I have had a variety of treatments including Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Pilates and Yoga. I have also been on anti inflamatory medication. Whilst all of these treatments have improved my condition to various degrees, some offering short term relief from pain (e.g. anti inflamatory medication), I was still left frustrated as I was unable to play any sports and still sufferred from pain when I sat too long or walked too far. This led me to consider surgery which I was quite reluctant to undergo.I moved to New York for work in mid 2013 for a 9 month stint and I made the decision that if i was still troubled by pain after this stint I would undergo surgery when I returned to Australia. Around November 2013 I went and saw Dr Kalika, more to try something different and a kind of treatment I had not yet received. On my first consultation, Dr Kalika undertook a thorough examination of me and told me that we would start rehab with me the following week. He also advised me that surgery was something I should not consider as it would result it longer term problems.Since my initial consultation, I have visited DNS rehab on a weekly basis. Most of my sessions have been undertaken by Sunny Panya from the team and Dr Kalika steps in to monitor my progress at regular intervals. From my first session until now, I have noticed steady progress and can confidently say that it has been the most effective treatment I have experienced. The treatment is subtle and comfortable and everything explained by Sunny and Dr Kalilka makes sense. Between sessions I am also given exercises to do on my own time and this has helped me immensly.I am pleased to say that after 18 months of no sports besides swimming, I am now running regularly and feel a lot less pain. Whilst I still feel pain at work when I sit for long periods, there has been constant improvement and am confident Im on the right track to eliminating the pain.If anyone is suffering from back pain, I highly recommend trying DNS rehab with Dr Kalika and his team. Dr Kalikas methods do not aim to provide a quick fix which temporarilly relieves pain. The methods are aimed at provided long term solutions by fixing the very core of the problems which cuase the symptons.I return to Perth, Australia in 3 weeks and am happy to say that I will not be going ahead with any surgery. I can only hope that a DNS practioner is available in Perth shortly.
For the last two weeks I have been receiving therapy in Dr Kalikas Rehab for my De Quervains tendonitis. I have a huge improvement the pain is almost gone. The place is great has the latest technologies for various therapies. The staff is great and Dr. Kalika is a great specialist. Appointments are easy to schedule and no wait time. Will definitely recommend this rehab to everybody who need therapy.
I sprained my ankle 2 years ago, went to 2 Physical therapists, still hurt when I do some light running. I was kind of skeptical before I went to Dr. Kalikas office, since no one was able to cure my sprained ankle for the last 2 years. When I was at Dr. Kalikas office, he straight talk to me about my condition, told me what I need to do to cure my ankle. It turns out I just need to do few rehab exercises routinely, not as complicated as other PT has told me. After consistently following Dr. Kalikas advices for 2 months, I would say my ankle is much better now. Thanks Dr. Kalika
Dr Kalika is the best! I just met Dr. Kalika three weeks ago, I know I have a long way to go, but I am very confident that he will help me to have my life back ! In the first appointment I had with Dr. Kalika he was able to identify my problem linked to my lower back and shoulder pain, groin pain, pelvic pain, etc. I jumped from one doctor to the other for 8 months and no one was able to help me. I was even suggested to take anti-depressive pills for my anxiety/depression. In one session Dr. Kalika went straight to the point! He is such a nice, friendly and patience person. He was able to explain me everything without rushing me and he has always been available by e-mail to answer to all my questions and concerns. The rest of the staff is as professional as Dr Kalika! I could not recommend a better place to have your neuromuscular issues solved!
Best choice of my life. For 3 years I have been enduring sciatic pain that slowly hindered my quality of life. Before the injury I was very active and did whatever I wanted to do. With my pain it felt like playing roulette when the pain would either be on one of my legs (or the other/both) and the severity of pain would vary. After 3 years of going to chiropractors/general doctors/sports doctors, I was losing hope that this pain would never subside and it would be something Id learn to live with. Finding Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation was best choice I could have ever made. I needed a point of view that was different than just pain medicine and surgery. I was properly diagnosed; when other doctor couldnt even recreate my pain, Dr. Kalika and his staff were able to and setup a plan for my recover after extensive analysis. Within 2 month I am nearly pain free (months of exercises and treatment from Dr. Kalika and his staff), I have full confidence that Dr. Kalika and his staff will guide me to the right direction so that I can return to my old self and be aware of old habits that caused my pain.Thank you to everyone at Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation.
My first meeting with Dr. Kalika has been due to an ankle pain. From the first visit, I found Dr. Kalika to be a great listener, and a caring person. He was able to quickly pin point the origin of my pain, and provided quick relief. Then, Dr. Kalika has designed a program consisting of his own therapy treatments, work with equipment and excercises at home. After several weeks of seeing Dr. Kalika, I had a noticeable improvement and had gained confidence in knowing how to manage my condition in the future. I am please to recommend Dr. Kalika as a passionate Doctor with immense knowledge, newest techniques and equipment, and, most importantly, the one who is cares to see one get well.
This place is a real deal!I have choosen this facility based on good reviews and I dont regreat a bit. They are very professional, caring and really hands on. They have this amazing technology that is very helpful and fun. It makes rehabilitation to be less of a choar.Dr. Kalika is by far one of the most rounded clinicians I have seen. His diagnostic skills are superb. He did spend a great deal of time with me trying to rule out nerve involvement with diagnostic ultrasound . You can tell that he loves what he does. So is everyone else I worked with. Dr. Katz has amazing hands , Sunny is gentle but very precise. Front desk is always there assisting you with appointments and questions. Really good solid place to visit if you have muscular issues
As a programmer I spend most of my time (10-14 hours a day) sitting in front of my computer pretty much every day. By the time I went to Dr. Kalikas office I had been suffering from the pain in my lower back for more than a year. I went to other doctors who treated me without much success (lasting at least) and I was told that in the worst case I would need to have a surgery. I have also been prescribed peels but those had little effect if any. The pain just would not go away and gradually became more and more intense. Dr. Kalika was able to properly identify the origin and the reasons for the pain, treated me for it and prescribed a set of exercises which would put me on the path to recovery. Today my pain is almost gone and able to live virtually pain free. I am still doing the exercises although not as often as I did in the beginning. Overall I feel much better. I highly recommend Dr. Kalika to anyone who is suffering from similar problems.
NYDNRehab has state-of-the-art facility and equipment. The staff is made of true experts, incredibly competent in their field and professional. Everyone is incredibly pleasant and helpful at any point in time. In spite of the normal hesitation people may have with the clinic being out-of-network, theres no better investment you can make for your health knowing you will get best-in-class treatment. Besides, the staff and doctors will often go above and beyond to help you further and accommodate specific needs you may have.
First time I met Dr. Kalika was about 10 years ago. He helped me with my leg pain in 2 visits that other doctors just couldnt do anything about. And then he moved to another office and I lost him. I was recalling him couple times with my shoulder and back pain, but couldnt find him.Years after I have a terrible heel pain due to a heel spur, for 3 months. One office with therapy, another office with homeopathic shots, nothing, just more pain. So I started research myself and found that a shock wave treatment might help. I looked up on the internet and found this office and, oh my God, the doctor was that same doctor Kalika that i lost for years.Ill tell you this, my pain almost dissipated in 2 weeks, the one that I suffered so much, that my whole foot got inflamed and swallowed! In addition I was really surprised how much equipped this office with very expensive machines, unlike most of cheap offices. Even the massage tables feel like a bed in a good hotel!Highly recommend Dr. Kalika as a very professional and knowledgeable specialist, who will not just heal your symptoms, but will teach you how to prevent future problems.
I was referred to DNR by my Orthopedic Surgeon following my meniscus bucket-handle tear surgery in January 2013 and I am now at 110% strength and stability compared to BEFORE my injury.I can say with full confidence that 3 months later not only is my knee fully functional, but Dr. Kalika and Sunny were able to quickly help me build the leg strength I had been lacking my entire life! What I never learned from years of hot yoga about the importance of bending/sitting form (Awkward Pose is terrible for your knees!) Dr. Kalika and Sunny were able to correct in a matter of months.I highly recommend this facility not only for the state-of-the art technology which is second to none in this country, but for the friendly and knowledgable team!
I had sciatica about 1 year ago with hip pain. I went to an orthopedic surgeon and was told that I needed a hip replacement. Anything related to surgery scare the hell out of me, I did some research online, and found out that physical therapy could be another alternative to sciatica treatment. I went to a physical therapy in NYC, and didnt get much help from her, my pain has gotten worst; I am in pain when standing, sitting, walking and lying down. Before I gave up on physical therapy and went for the hip replacement, my friend recommended Dr. Kalika. After 4 sessions with him, I am feeling better and can sleep better because my pain had reduced tremendously. I am not 100% yet, but, at least, I can now stand up straight as soon as I get out of bed, or chair with no pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Kalika to folks who have sciatica. I would certainly not recommend surgery until you have consulted Dr. Kalika.
When you are in a state of pain and kind of lose hope, you want to be taken care of by a group of professionals who know what they are doing and are empathetic. Dr Kalika and his staff are exactly that PT Mohammad and CP Christina were nothing but amazing. My first visit was very effective and promising to heal my diastasis recti. With 3 kids under 3 its not easy, but Dr Kalika and team are working with me towards a more healthier lifestyle and self confidence.
Dr Kalika and his Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation have restored my hope in recovering from four years of pain and misalignment from a train accident. Without them, I don’t think I would be walking at all. With them, my mobility has been enhanced and my pain significantly reduced. This is where good science meets compassionate, dynamic care.My treatment here began with in-depth diagnoses of my gait, bone, muscle, and other dysfunctions. I got connective-tissue, chiropractic, physical, and massage therapy, plus sessions on the AlterG/AntiGravity treadmill. I was also helped by ultrasound and shockwave technology. Then, once the Computer-Assisted Rehabilitation Environment was installed in Dr. Kalika’s new midtown offices, my rate of progress accelerated, with my gait-, balance-, and proprioception-retraining overseen by Erika, Dr Kalika’s brilliant, hardworking biomedical engineer. She not only programs virtual-reality challenges that remap your brain to help you recover physiologically; she is also encouraging, patient, and happy to answer questions about how it all works. Physical therapist Sunny helps with precision moves in strength training. Keeping it all running smoothly is their excellent office manager, Marina. They’ve also offered reasonable rates that let me continue therapy for the longterm, so that I can maintain this positive health trend.I could not tolerate bearing any weight on my ankle when I came to them, and I had back and hip trouble, too. Now I can walk most days without any crutches or wheelchair, and am recovering mobility and strength that I had given up for lost.
Ive been on a life long quest to get to the bottom of my aches and pains that only seem to multiply over time, despite the great expense (time and money) of expert doctors, therapies, holistic nutrition, acupuncture... the list goes on and on. As an active person, Ive developed quite a number injuries that have gone either unaddressed or treated with temporary quick fixes. I had not encountered a doctor that could piece together the entire puzzle...until I went to DNR. During my initial consult, Dr. Kalika listened to my issues but then proceeded to investigate the source and root of the problem before creating my treatment plan. Each visit feels like a full body-shop with top notch technology and equipment, unlike anyplace Ive ever experienced. I appreciate the extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and genuine team that takes my case seriously while making tweaks to the program as necessary. With the combination of the treatments in the office and home assignments, I feel noticeable improvements after only a few months. In addition, the Gait Analysis results showed me a frame by frame of my bodys movement and gave me a clearer understanding of my ailments and some of the reasons behind them. I highly recommend Dr. Kalika and his team, as DNR is truly unique and well suited for anyone who feels like he/she has lost hope for a cure.
I went to DNR with Rotary Cuff tendonitis. I began physical therapy thinking that my problem was only the pain and inability to move my shoulder properly. Dr. Kalika diagnosed the origin of the injury, and concluded that I had a slightly dislocated shoulder plate that stemmed from an original injury in my hip when I was 14yo. Ive lived my whole life since that original injury with neck stiffness, and back pains. I was told by numerous doctors that it was something I was gonna have to live with. So for more than 15 years Ive had the necessity to stretch my neck and back at least 20 times a day. Dr. Kalika not only has treated the shoulder, but has taken me into the path of full recovery. My neck, back and hip are much much better than when I first began the therapy, and Im still on my way to full recovery. This is very exciting for me, considering I never thought my neck and back pains where ever gonna go away. As a result of the exercise regime, I feel better, healthier, and I even lost weight. Im even looking forward to being able to run long distances.Im very happy with my decision to come to DNR, and feel lucky cause I first got there by sheer luck. I hope this review helps whoever has had long term problems with the functionality of their bodies. It can definitely get better!
Ive been a professional trumpet player for 35 years and a martial arts practitioner and teachers for 35 yrs. Both of these activities, over such a long period of time have brought about issues. The martial arts issues were more easily understood, wear and tear as well and repeated trauma. The trumpet playing issue were a bit harder to get to the bottom of.....and little did I suspect that they were somehow connected.Dr. Kalika spent a few visits just having me go through basic movement patterns as well as simulate (without actually playing) my posture and mechanics of blowing the trumpet. He was able to make some connections that know one else has been able to in terms of getting to the root cause of my pain.Weve been going through a protocol of stabilizing, strengthening and mobility that has given me almost instant relief. With the help of his skillful staff and some incredible state of the art equipment, Ive been able to get lots of visual and scientific data that is making it much easier for me to adapt new and better patterns of movement. All of this is completely functional and Ive been able to incorporate it on the stage and in the gym.I recommend Dr Kalika in the highest possible terms.
Outstanding!Ive injured my forearm to the point where I could not lift any weight at all, I could not even make a fist. Prior to coming to Dr. Kalikas office, Ive been to several chiropractors and massage therapists in a course of 7 months. No one was able to provide any measurable relief. Within 5 minutes Dr. Kalika identified the root of my problem and prescribed appropriate treatment. 4 weeks later - I recovered 100%. I am finally able to resume my workouts without any pain or discomfort.Thank you Dr. Kalika.
I have been living with back pain for the past 2 years. I seen many doctors and physical therapists who would say all you need is medicine. Nothing would help me until I found Dr. Kalikas office. From the moment I walked in I felt that maybe things will finally be better for me. The office puts you at ease from the reception area to no waiting to see the doctor or the therapist policy. When Dr. Kalika examined me it was very detailed. He needed to know everything because surely enough everything plays a role. Dr. Kalika is very knowledgable and hold the highest accreditations and certificates. Dr. Kalika and the therapists are very hands on and know you as a person. In the office Dr. Kalika has the latest technology and modatities available. One of the new technology Dr. Kalika has is the CAREN system, which is a virtual reality that helps rehabilitate and get you back to normal within a short amount of time. I have been seeing Dr. Kalika for many months now and only he was able to diagnose me and cure me. For the first time in many years I was able to go dancing and biking and I owe all my thanks to Dr. Kalika and all his staff.
I was struggling with patellar tendinitis in both knees for well over a year and even simple things like walking down stairs would cause pain. With Dr. Kalika’s help (as well as Hyunju and Christina) after about three months I am pain free and working to get back to sports!! Thank you NYDN
If youre considering PT, dont waste time going elsewhere. I presented with recurring shoulder pain and poor posture; within the first session, he thoughtfully evaluated the shoulder, discovered from where the pain was coming, and immediately started to develop a treatment plan with at-home exercises from day one. It was obvious that he and his staff are well-trained (check out his bio!).I work with some of the worlds leading research physicians, and the difference is stark when working with someone who is well-versed in the latest research and is aware of the latest technology. I saw from the first visit that Dr. Kalika is among this group in that he approached my case logically, took careful notes, and thoroughly explained my underlying issues. He and Sunny have used some of the best technology in my care (shockwave, top-of-the-line ultrasound, and a muscle icing machine used by German soccer teams to ice my sore shoulder). The quality of care exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds.Despite having only begun working with Dr. Kalika and Sunny, my posture has already improved in a noticeable way, and I am actually able to use the muscles that I (strangely) had no idea I even had. Also having a massage therapist in the office for each visit makes a huge difference.Honestly, Im so glad my first time with PT was at DNR. Thank you, guys!
I was diagnosed with TMJ over 30 years ago. Since then Ive had mouth appliances, tried bio feedback, self hypnosis, acupuncture, chiropractic, you name it! In my forties I even had braces because I was told it would help. My symptoms were pain, headaches, clicking and crunching. Once my jaw locked and the doctor had to use anesthesia in order to unlock it.So when this latest episode became unbearable I searched the Internet, desperate for a solution. I knew I didnt want another dentist. Their only solution is appliances which dont work and are very expensive. I decided to try DN Rehab. Understandably I was very cynical when the doctor said they could help me.However, in only a few sessions the crunching, pain and headaches are gone! I couldnt believe it. They are now working on some other issues that Ive had due to the fact that Im training for a Triathlon. I highly recommend this group. They are very professional and more importantly effective! Also their office staff is very client oriented.
For the last four weeks, I have been receiving Shockwave treatment for my tennis elbow pain at DNR. Huge Improvement! In fact, my elbow pain is virtually nonexistent at this point. Lev Kalika, the clinical director at DNR, was extremely kind and helpful through the process. He was very patient, encouraging and knowledgeable when I asked him (a lot of!) questions. I highly recommend DNR and Lev for anyone suffering from elbow or heel pain, and any other physical therapy related matters.
I highly recommend seeing Dr. Kalika if you are looking for a physical therapist. I had seen several PTs before I was recommended to him by another physical therapist! Its a hike for me, but worth it!!He gets to the bottom of the problem and does a root cause analysis with his multidisciplinary team before recommending a treatment plan.I have had lower leg and foot pain for at least 10 years and he was able to determine why and I can already see the difference with the treatment, where as everyone else was giving me temporary solutions. The facility is pretty impressive, I had not seen anything like it before even though I am in the healthcare field.I was also seen promptly at the time of my appointment- which is very important for me.One thing I didnt know before going to my first appointment was that I would need to change into a tank top and shorts that are provided in their dressing room- thankfully they had all different sizes. I think this really helps them identify the problems since one isnt covered in layers of clothes.
My first appointment at this facility and WOW! Courteous, professional staff at Front Desk, got me in quickly, did my paperwork, set me up and off I was to sit down with Dr. Kalika to evaluate my condition. He was thorough - listening to and answering my questions and explaining all the steps involved in the upcoming treatment - a true evaluation. To address my condition - plantar fascia (right foot) - his staff combined shockwave therapy, acupuncture and conditioning exercises. I like the concept of treating the condition as part of a whole - after all, this pain doesnt happen in a vacuum, it does affect other parts of thebody, such as the way one walks - with one side trying to compensate for the discomfort on the other side. Ive set up my 3 visits for next week. A great first impression which encourages me to recommend them to others.
Superb on many levels.Having been treated by various professionals in PT and from my experience with Dr. Kalika and his team, I have come to appreciate the distinct talent that is needed in this scientific discipline - it requires a comprehensive understanding of the person’s structure and nuance and adjustments in the treatment. If time and well-being are your treasured resources, I can easily say that trying the unique approach at DNR is certainly worth a try, whether it is an issue that is just beginning or longstanding.I originally began treatment for my knee and upper back however, following a thorough analysis of my gait and other movement patterns, my treatment addresses both issues and others connected which have bothered me for a bit of time.I regarded myself to be fairly fit, strong and knowledgeable about my body after having formal dance training and being exposed to pilates and yoga disciplines. From only nearly a dozen sessions, I have experienced certain revelations, and am just beginning to get a deeper understanding of my proclivities and their consequences. Also a hit for me, is that Dr. Kalika’s methods are consistent among his team; in my sessions I have been treated by S. Pandaya along with Dr. Kalika and have felt they hold the same conviction in the techniques they use. This uniformity is important and not always the case at other places. Lastly, I feel comfortable in questioning Dr. Kalika or Sunny and learning from their responses, which don’t feel rushed (not common in Manhattan), highly valuable for me. This ease is also very true of the assistants organize your time at the office and do so very pleasantly.
After hurting my lower back at the gym to the point where I could barely walk or sit, I went to see Dr. Kalika who performed what I could only call a miracle through a series of small adjustments and seemingly simple exercises. I immediately felt better and have been recovering well ever since. What I really like and respect about Dr. Kalika is his devotion and constant curiousity to his work as every time I visit him, hes always traveling the world and learning something new about this field.
I am forever grateful to Dr. Kalika for helping me to rid of chronic back pain that completely immobilize my life for the past 8 years. His superb skill and advanced technics and knowledge in the field of physical therapy and chiropractic medicine let me enjoy my life again and allow me to participate in sports and other physical activities.I have tried a few doctors in New York and even out of state but nobody had such an amazing approach and state of the art equipment like office of Dr. Kalika.Thank you Dr. Kalika and Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Center.
Dr. Kalika is top notch in PT. He is thorough in his evaluation and devises a treatment plan that includes the latest technology CAREN Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment and at-home exercises and massage therapy. After many doctors and many prescriptions for chronic headache and imbalance, I have found hope at this facility. I go in feeling lousy and come out feeling much better. I finally feel someone cares, listens and has a plan. Thank you!
Dr. Kalika is a very good practitioner who uses an interdisciplinary approach to diagnose and treat patients. He has a superb understanding of dynamic anatomy and is also adept at developing therapeutic plans that are integrated and customized to each individual,. In addition he has assembled a great team of professionals (chiropractor, masseuse, PT) that each uniquely contributes to the patients care and well being.Unfortunately, the office started over-billing/double-billing me and my insurance company in a way that was highly suspicious, unfair and unethical. The front desk person also pressures clients into writing Google reviews, which leads me to believe at least some of these overwhelmingly reviews were created under duress. I eventually stopped going there as it seemed I was being bilked.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In response to the response from owner -- Its Olive, not Olivia. Furthermore, Olive is my middle name, so you wont see it in your records. I certainly do not have to prove I was a patient - I already tried to resolve the billing issues when I was a patient and it was not taken care of promptly and directly; I have no desire to revisit all of that years later (and notably I never received an email outlining billing procedures - perhaps thats something you commenced more recently). My review was objective with both positive and negative factors noted, but I am now removing a star as I do not appreciate being falsely accused of not even being a patient.
My injuries took me by surprise and I am not an easy patient. Doctor Kalika and his staff have managed to set me up on a path of recovery even where my own willpower failed to follow all of their instructions. Professionalism and patience are the hallmarks of this office. As a fan of extreme sports, should I get injured again, the choice of doctor to put me back together is clear.
Why do you come here. This is not a place you come to because you feel a slight twinge and you are looking for a miracle. You come here because you are looking for a serious diagnosis and a thorough treatment plan. Everyone on the staff from top to bottom is extremely helpful. The people attending are religious because they are serious about getting better, and everyone treating you gives you their full attention when it is indeed your turn. They take their time to get to know you and all the pain points. Your level of diagnostics will depend on your severity of pain and location of pain. I was here for chronic lower back pain and after seeing various therapists of recommended and high quality looking locations, this is the first where I feel confident that the true issues are being addressed rather than just the symptoms.
I read about DNS in a magazine and had a good feeling about them,so I went. My very first visit impressed me, Dr Kalikas complex knowledge about the body, how everything is connected, how if you have a symptom on one spot the source may come from a completely different part of your body. He checks everything, thoroughly, listens to you, approaches you from a direction that is unique. I keep learning about my own body with just being at the treatments. He has always been helpful, attentive, when I had urgent problems he has always been there for me.The treatment is designed for your needs and you get a very confident doctor healing you.His method may be not common in the United States, but certainly is more complex and effective than just a simple chiropractic or physical therapy treatment,
This is a great choice for anyone needing physical therapy. The approach they take to remedy people’s medical conditions are very deeply thought out. No “band aids” are used here. They get to the root cause of your problem and work on that with the goal being that not only are your conditions greatly improved or remedied but that they don’t return. They are very detailed and thorough. They have the latest equipment and techniques. Combine this with an amazingly kind and caring staff and you have your go to spot to get the help you need. I highly recommend them.
The NYDN specialists helped me a great deal. I am 29 and honestly, my first pregnancy was not as hard on me as my second. I felt like I was literally falling apart. I did not feel 28, more like a 60 year old arthritic grandma. My diagnosis turned out to be sciatica, which prevented me from walking. I couldn’t even lie in bed, sleep or sit comfortably. My physical therapist, was very attentive and sensitive to my condition. He helped me get around and made me understand what was going on. I even returned to him after my baby was born. He helped me with post partum rehab and got me back to living a normal life again. I want to thank Dr. Kalika, who diagnosed me properly, and Taronte, who was so attentive and kind! Hugs to all of you, God bless.
I ordered a pair of postural insoles because I heard that they work for people with cerebral palsy. I am very pleased with them. It is really helping my gait with my cerebral palsy! I am a mailman and I work for the Postal Service. I walk 15 miles a day. This company has went above and beyond and even followed up with me to make sure the insoles worked for me with a Telehealth appointment! Anybody who has cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s or MS should really look into these insoles they are life-changing for people with disabilities!!
I recently took up wrestling as a recreational sport. Sometimes its fun, and sometimes its traumatic and painful. At one point I got a back injury, and lengthy rehab kept me out of the ring, making me miss important fights. Even when everything seemed to be ok in everyday life, I experienced pain during my workouts and couldnt quite get back to my former level. I finally turned to NYDNRehab, a rehab clinic providing chiropractic therapy in NYC. Their DNS (dynamic neuromuscular stabilization) therapy and acupuncture worked wonders and solved my back problem. Thanks!
For the past decade, Ive been having issue with complicated muscular imbalance which causes my core not engaging properly. This core instability created a domino effect where its affecting my mobility. Hence, I have not been able to perform athletically at my best for quite some years now. At best, Im only about 65% of my previous ability. For the past several years, Ive seen many practitioners in different fields in trying to find a solution. While Ive seen some symptomatic improvements, none of the improvements were meaningful, functional and lasting. With continuing research, I started to focus on and seeking out neuro based treatments. When I found that Kalika employs the DNS method, based on developmental kinesiology, which brings out your fundamental movements I knew this was something I had to try. Regaining fundamental movements is the key to the way your body is meant to move. Ive been coming to see Kalika since Jan 2013. So far I have been surprised at the results that Im seeing. After almost every session, I can either feel improvements and/or I can objectively measure improvements. Kalika is extremely knowledgeable in functional anatomy in relation to human movement. Its always interesting to hear him talk shop and provide insight in this highly complex field. His talks always provided more understanding into my own issues and therefore it helps me to help him getting me to where I need to be.Most people dont connect the dot in terms of how important it is for your body to move right. Move right = pain free, move wrong = pain. I still have ways to go in regaining my full ability but being under Kalikas care really has giving me hope that I can not only regain my former physical ability but also avert health issues this will cause me down the road. As we age, health and feeling healthy should be all of our number one concern.
Ive been a dancer with the New York City Ballet fro nearly 8 years and have had many different forms of manual therapy and rehab for the many injuries Ive suffered throughout my career. Dr. Kalika and the staff at DNS offers unparalleled expertise and options. From the state of the art technology available to all patients to Dr. Kalikas wealth of knowledge and skill, I always make DNS my first stop when Im beginning the road to recovery, or maintaining and cross training for my grueling seasons at City Ballet. I am very thankful to have found DNS and I consider it an integral part to helping me return to the stage not only quickly but also with a newfound understanding of my body and how to care for it. DNS offer well rounded, comprehensive care, that is effective and efficient.
Dr Lev Kalika is above amazing! He is so knowledgable and considerable. I wish I would find them earlier and my foot issue would be solved already. I went to 3 different doctors, 1 year of PT, and still no signs of improvement. NYDNRehab is the only place who offers a unique opporoach and you can feel results.
I was extremely pleased with the service I received at Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. I have plantar fascilitis in both of my feet for about five years. I have been to 4 other doctors and received injections in my foot for many years. Other doctors have suggested surgery. The doctors and the physical therapist at Dynamic Neuromuscular performed shock therapy on both of my feet. The therapy takes about a half hour and you are able to walk immediately. If you are suffering from plantar fascilities (heel spurs) I would highly recommend you try Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation.
A waste of time & money. Dr Kalika only cared about his online ratings and how I found him. Barely examined my frozen shoulder with his hands, only a lengthy ultra sound with condradicting verbal results. No written report and a hefty $375 office visit later = try someone who actually cares like ‘Bounce Back’ in Chelsea, fraction of the cost and dedicated therapists who actually know what their doing and spend an entire hour with you. I want my money back from Dr. Kalika.. Thanks but no thanks..
I have been getting therapy at DN Rehab for more than a month now and they have helped me recover strongly from a recently traumatic leg injury. I have a chronic issue with patellar dislocations and have been to many different physical therapists, but this place has been the best I have been to. When I first came I had severe muscle atrophy in my right legs quad muscle, which forced me to rely on crutches to move around. After a thorough assessment by my physical therapist, Sunny Pandya, I immediately began a regimen which would eventually allow me to regain my ability to walk normally. His clinical knowledge and expertise, coupled with the very advanced technology the center has (anit-gravity treadmill and C.A.R.E.N. machine) has given me the tools necessary to make my recovery a speedy one. I was off crutches after a week and have begun activities such as running and jumping about 3 weeks in. Nothing defines quality better than results. All in all, this has been a very enjoyable experience and I am very happy I choose this specific facility to work with.
I started having dizzy spells and I kept losing my balance. My daughter talked me into going to see Dr. Kalika, and after just one quick treatment I was no longer dizzy. The staff was so nice to me, and Dr. Kalika was just great. I also learned about the other types of things they do at the clinic, and I was amazed. Now I know where to go when my body isn’t working right
I went to see Lev Kalika at NYDNRehab to do a diagnostic ultrasound for problems I’d been having with my elbows for a year. He was able to figure out what my problem was and advise me on the resources I’d need to solve it. I’m hopeful that my visit with him will lead to some positive outcomes for my elbows.
After my car accident, my doctor referred me to NYDNRehab for physical therapy. I had severe neck pain from whiplash that was causing headaches and making it hard for me to function at my job. I could not believe the difference just a few sessions made. My neck pain and headaches are gone, and I feel like my old self for the first time in months. The physical therapists at NYDNR really know their stuff!
Felt odd the minute I stepped in. Even the way that the office was laid out was weird. People in the waiting area could look right into the room where the doctor would do his examinations. He was terrible at communicating his course of treatment or why he thought it was the best approach. Kept going for several appointments just to see if I would get more comfortable or if my condition would improve but it was all a waste of time and money. And after I switched to a different facility, they charged me for an appointment that I never made! Beware of scammers here! There are so many physical therapists and chiropractors in NYC, dont waste your time with this sketchy establishment. Theyve even changed their address to a place on 42nd St. when they used to be on 60th St.Also, having only 12 reviews before mine that scored 3/3 is obviously suspicious already. Ive learned the hard way that nowadays, businesses can buy positive reviews.
My son tore his ACL last year playing college football. The coach wanted him to get surgery right away, but my husband wanted to try rehab first. We took him to NYDNR, and a year later he is back in the game and feeling stronger than ever. I am convinced that rehab was the right choice, and I am so glad my son avoided surgery.
Fantastic staff and doctors at this facility! Dr. Kalika was very personable and explained everything in great detail. He is very knowledgeable and makes sure you are a part of every step in the treatment process. Am looking forward to working with him and his staff in the weeks to come!
This is by far the most thoughtful and holistic approach I have encountered since starting down the path of PT in 2005. His approach is not conventional or easy, but he really takes the entire system in to consideration instead of focusing on treating isolated symptoms.I am working through three different injuries (thorasic disc herniation 2005, SI joint instability and ligament pain and diasistic recti) which is beyond the reach of standard, well intentioned but sometimes paint by numbers physical therapy. Dr He is honest about what he can and cannot do, there is rarely if ever a wait time and the sessions are very tailored and individualized.Recovering weekend warrior turned suburban mom, age 38.
I drive for Uber, and I was starting to have pain in my right hip, every time I hit the brakes. One of my passengers told me about NYDNR, and I’m so glad they did! The team there showed me how to make some changes to my posture, and gave me exercises and stretches that really helped. I am now driving pain-free.
DNS has helped me tremendously over the past several weeks for my knee pain and swelling due to early stage arthritis. I tried to rehab on my own, with a printout of exercises and prescribed painkillers from my orthopedist...it didnt help at all.The therapists at DNS showed me the proper technique and targeted exercises for my condition, along with massage and other recommendations (ice, orthotics, etc.) that really helped me. Thanks to everyone at DNS for improving my painful condition!
Update: The rest of my previous review is below but this part makes it even more bizarre. After posting the negative review below, Dr. Kalika called me to try and pay me off to remove my bad review. (Im not making this up!) I considered amendeding it, and before I had a chance to do anything, he called me again two days later to see if I would take it down already. Then, once I provided an update that wasnt to his liking the following week, he didnt even respond to the update I e-mailed him. We spoke on the phone after that and I told him I would make some other fair adjustments but that I couldnt just make it all roses since I did have a bad experience. I sent a new update and a follow-up email, and no response, so hence the update here. Since there are so many stellar reviews, I wonder how many bad reviews he paid off. He also seemed to manage to get 6 great reviews on the web right after mine (after 26 in the previous 2 years). Perhaps hes good at what he does, but the initial consulation appointment (see previous review below), furthered by this interaction is just strange...-----------What an odd experience here. Felt like a bad decision to come here from the moment my appointment began. During the initial consultation, Dr. Kalika kept having to leave the room for some issue or another and made it pretty clear after a while that he didnt need to know all the background information I was telling him. (Ive been dealing with various issues for years and so I wanted to make sure to give my full history.) I had the feeling that I was being rushed along.Toward the end of the consultation, I asked if I would be receiving any treatment that day because some of my headache issues were sorely in need to relief that week. He brought over to the massage therapist (who seemed disinterested) and told him a few quick things. He then had me lay face down on the most uncomfortable massage table Ive ever laid on, popped in his headphones [which was first for me!!], and then proceeded to render the most useless massage session Ive ever been a part of. Because he had his headphones in [again, why would anyone do that?], I couldnt even get his attention that was he was doing was uncomfortable or any of the normal feedback one would provide. Having had plenty of deep tissue and neuromuscular massage therapy sessions over the past couple of years, I could tell during this session that it was obviously not at all customized to what my particular issues were and that it was probably just a generic superficial yet rough massage. Worst of all, when it was over, my headache was much worse and I felt like crap. I think I passed the doctor on the way out and mentioned that the massage made me worse and I dont remember much concern on his part. After this bizarre experience, I knew I couldnt come back here again, so a few days later I called to cancel my second appointment, and the receptionist didnt even ask why, and they never called me again to see if I wanted to come back in. Thats some care they have for their patients! I really shouldve called to try to request at least a partial refund of my $250 initial consultation fee... what an absolute waste! I see so many positive reivews on here, so Im not quite sure what the hell happened with my visit.
Friendly staff and responsive team. I do find it, however, very annoying that the reviews here are fake. If you sort by the latest, youll see review my people like Emily Young...what else did she review? Rockefeller Center, McDonalds, Times Square & Lego....if you sort reviews based on timing, click on reviewer, see their reviews and what they reviewed, youll realize that reviews here are fake.- I am a continuing customer. I can’t afford to change doctors. If I reveal my full name, you will cut my neck nerves :(
After my hip replacement surgery, I went to NYDNR for rehab. I was blown away by the high tech equipment they used to get me back in shape. It was like playing a virtual reality video game, with my body as the controller. I had so much fun, I forgot all about my hip! This place is the bomb!
After years of running marathons and placing near the top of my age group I started to lose my competitive edge. I decided to get a gait analysis at nydnrehab and they identified deficiencies in my gait that were slowing me down. After a few retraining sessions I am running better than ever, and making record time
Amazing Job ! I had a injury on my knee , when I was playing soccer , ACL rupture , i did MRI and everybody was telling me that I need to do surgery , Until i found this guy , half a year of rehabilitation i am back playing soccer with only 10% of pain left.THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
I had come in with a back inquiry since I am a very athletic person. This place is great they get right to the problem and show you step by step how to train your body. The place is very clean and has a great environment. The staff is always willing to help and are very kind and professional.
Even though the phone service alone was very rude and a bit distasteful, the lady on the phone had a bit of an attitude as if she didnt want to speak to me. Crazy thing was all I wanted was information on how I could start working there or possibly having an internship since I am a 1st year student going into the PT field.

2022-03-25Had a great experience. Came in for a gait analysis and I received a lot of attention to figure out exactly what was wrong. I discovered things that other doctors had been scratching their heads over for years. Even though I had to leave town, the doc gave me a referral for other doctors he recommends and sent a follow up email. Can’t recommend highly enough.

2022-06-17Dr Kalika is very knowledgeable and professional. It was nice to meet with him. The front desk people is also nice. I would definitely go with him for my treatment if he could change the billing person. The person who in charge of billing is very rude and impatient. I am not sure if it is my race that make her treat me like this. If yes, it will be even unforgivable. I was very polite and patient trying to understand and get information. I don’t think I deserve it.

2022-07-01I went to three different doctors for my knee pain, and all they did was give me steroid shots and sent me to cookie cutter physical therapy . My knee pain just kept getting worse. Dr. Kalika used regenerative therapy with focused shockwave, magnetic wave and very sophisticated physical therapy . In two month my knee pain is completely gone! Very attentive doctor with good bed side manner , who loves what he does and very excited to keep digging until the puzzle comes together. His diagnostic skills with ultrasound are just superb. Best knee pain therapy EVER. Give him a try!

2022-04-22I developed sciatic nerve pain about five month ago.The pain was so strong that I could not sit . I did acupuncture , tried couple guided steroid injections and oral steroids , but it wasn’t getting any better. My sister suggested sciatica physical therapy and referred me to the NYDNRehab clinic. I am so glad I went! Dr. Kalika used shock wave therapy and ultrasound guided dry needling, along with chiropractic care and physical therapy to strengthen my pelvic floor and other core muscles. My sciatica is completely gone, and I am able to sit. This is a great clinic with great people.

2022-05-10When my general practitioner referred me to NYDNRehab for low back pain physical therapy I was skeptical. I had been struggling with low back pain for a couple of years, and I couldn’t see how physical therapy could help. Boy, was I surprised! The one-on-one personal treatment I received was amazing! Dr. Kalika used a combination of shockwave therapy, ultrasound guided dry needling and physical therapy to eliminate pain and inflammation and balance the muscles in my low back and pelvic region. He also did some chiropractic manipulation on my spine. My back pain is completely gone, and I learned tons about preventing it in the future. I highly recommend this clinic!

2022-05-31Im a new patient of Dr. Kalikas, and have seen a greater improvement in 1-2 months with him than a full year of other therapists. A bit about my case: I had a surgery, and tried your typical chain Physical Therapy companies across NYC. I had bad experiences at most of them, and hadnt recovered a year after my surgery. My Podiatrist recommended Lev and hes been working with me, alongside PTs in his practice like Dr. YOO (who is absolutely exceptional) and Ive been making great progress. There is no one else Ill go see in NYC if I have another issue. This team gets the job done.

2022-05-08I’ve been receiving treatments from Dr. Kalika and his staff for a meniscus tear in my knee. My impression has been overwhelmingly positive. What differentiates Dr. Kalika is his excellent diagnostic skills aided by cutting-edge technology. Dr. Kalika used diagnostic ultrasound to examine the tissues inside my knee -- that’s something I’ve never seen anywhere else. The regimen he prescribed includes some unique treatments (ShockWave therapy and magnet therapy), as well as PT and dry needling. You get a lot of individualized attention at this practice. Dr. Kalika is truly focused on solving your problem -- as opposed to the assembly-line in-and-out approach you experience with so many doctors today. Dr. Yoo as well spent a lot of time with me on physical therapy and I can tell she is genuinely interested in helping me recover. Since I started treatments, my knee pain went away and I can feel my knee getting stronger. I highly recommend Dr. Kalika’s practice to anyone seeking help with orthopedic problems.

2022-04-15Great staff! They were all very friendly and took time to explain the different physical therapy techniques they were using. I also got a quick diagnosis (~20 min) and the first session brought immediate relief. My lower back and hip have been feeling less tight with each visit

2022-06-19I was struggling with terrible neck pain that kept getting worse, and my regular doctor told me I probably had disc disease and might need surgery, which I was not willing to do. My friend told me about Dr. Kalika and how he uses non-surgical approaches, so I made an appointment. Dr. Kalika used diagnostic ultrasonography to figure out that the root of my problem was fascial adhesions of the nerves in my shoulder and under my pectoral muscles, while my the orthopaedic doctor wanted to do surgery on the discs in my neck. Dr. Kalika used different types of shockwave therapy to break up the adhesions, and my pain is completely gone. I wish I had gone to NYDNRehab sooner!

2022-05-23I have been receiving treatments from Dr. Lev Kalika for arthrosis with joint line osteophytes, patellofemoral narrowing of both my knees. I had already completed PRP (Platelet rich plasma) which did improve my movement however there was a constant pain which made walking difficult. I feel fortunate and blessed that I was able to find Dr. Lev Kalika. The treatment he prescribed includes Shockwave (ESWT) and Magnet therapy (EMTT). He has been extremely accommodating with my treatment I have been receiving individualized attention. He is keen on decreasing my pain. After a few sessions my knee pain has decreased, and I can feel my knee getting stronger. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Kalika and his team. I highly recommend Dr. Kalika to anyone who is suffering from knee pain.
