If you ever have your car towed you’re basically in a hole and you can forget about anyone helping you and just pay saving you the time the people her don’t care I went inside to the office and I don’t have my driver license it was stolen came with every identification and the person left the register thinking it was some type of high school drama class saying I can’t help you. the people who work here don’t deserve to work here there at lot of people who can do this job and talk to you respectfully and make NYC better there needs to be something done about this!
The NYPD Queens Tow # really got the job done for me. I thought I was going to work, but lo and behold, NYPD had my back that morning. The people were friendly and the dirty office Trailer was outstanding. Visitation hours for car jail can be tricky so be sure you know their hours before showing up. My car was returned for a reasonable fee of $185 which seemed fair
Absolutely horrible experience dealing with this business. I was parked illegally and paid my tickets and picked up my car immediately. The issue is that they towed my all-wheel drive Nissan rouge like a forward wheel drive and cost me $2000 in damage. My car should have been put on flat bed, but instead they destroyed my rear differential. The worst part is they were EXTREMLEY rude to me when I came back and insisted that they cover this. I brought all the documentation from my mechanic and they still denied my request. I filled a police report instead. Dont let these people destroy your vehicle- double check everything about your car before you leave. I would give them a zero if I could!!!
It has to take a toll knowing your so incredibly hated. Hey I get it, no need to take my illgegally parked frustrations on the workers, however, the pace at which these people work you would think we were in middle America. No communication, if their shift is over they’ll literally get up and leave in the middle of processing your stuff (I watched it).The city grabs at you any way they can - nyc doesn’t care for their own. It’s evident on how they treat they’re own workers and who they hire.
People here are very nice if you’re nice to them. You have to remember that they’re not robots... they too are human and have feelings. Saw people being nasty and giving attitude for absolutely no reason and guess what these are the people that give gross reviews. Treat them how you want to be treated and remember they are not the reason nor the person who towed your car. They’re just trying to help, so let them. Was here for an overall hour and a half but can honestly say with the niceness and conversation it felt like a half hour tops didn’t even realize the time till I was driving away In my vehicle. Hope I won’t be back even though the experience wasn’t bad at all!
Car was towed because it was in a No standing area for 8 hours while they left all the other cars on the block. NO ONE WEARS MASKS HERE. Be careful. All NYPD employees were walking around without a mask, as if there is not a pandemic or mask mandate. They ask you to ride in their car to get your car- with the windows up as the driver has no mask on.
Great advice don’t park in front of a fire hydrant to avoid the tow ticket and fees. Come to think of it a garage is cheap compared to this hands down every day all the week long. Look for Home Depot nearby to find this place. If you call with your license plate number you will be informed if your vehicle is there or not.
Staff are rude as hell. I felt like I was interrupting the guy at the desk. So sorry to make you actually do your job. The place is run down and not lit well at night. I had to turn on the flash so i could see where I was going to avoid mud puddles. Its so bad that I thought it was an abandoned lot.
Listen, I know this isnt a place that people want to be at, but I walked in just looking to retrieve my car and go home. I have never been treated this disresptfully in my entire life. The staff have laughed at me and are visibly talking bad about me behind the counter. I didn’t expect them to be professional, but I didn’t think they would be this bad. If you hate your jobs please get new ones.
If your vehicle is missing and you’re wondering if it is towed, you can call 311. 311 operators are able to locate your vehicle with either your vehicle’s VIN number or your vehicle’s plate number. If your vehicle happens to be towed to 31-22 College Point Boulevard you would need to know the following details:* Bring your vehicle’s documents. Bring a valid registration, the valid title, the keys, valid insurance, your valid driver’s license.* The entrance is on 31st Avenue and NOT on College Point Boulevard.* Their towing price from towing your vehicle from the street to their location is $185.* For each day your vehicle stays at their location, they charge $20 and this accumulates so get there as soon as you find out about your vehicle.* A part of this process to get your vehicle out is to pay a DCA-LICENSED tow company to literally tow your vehicle from their lot to outside of their location which costs $150. They have a DCA-licensed company that they have available on site so you don’t need to look for them.* Finally, after all this, you can drive your vehicle away OR if your vehicle is not in working condition, you would need to find a way on how you’re gonna transport your vehicle.* Assume that there is no ATM credit card machine so bring cash. At least the three amounts I mentioned above.* IMPORTANT: Forget about calling them. I tried calling the moment I found out from 311 that my vehicle was there but no one picked up my call. I figured, it’s best to deal with them in person, and it was.For me, I decided to NOT keep my vehicle. It was old and I am in no position to take care of it so I decided to sign the vehicle off to them. Signing off the vehicle to them means that I NO LONGER want it. Luckily, I brought my TITLE and KEYS with me which they REQUIRED from me to do the process. I did NOT have to pay for anything and after all was said and done, I said goodbye to my vehicle (in my head), I thanked everyone for their assistance and patience, and walked away. The staff was surprisingly helpful and efficient. They asked for stuff they needed - in a pleasant manner, and took care of my case right then and there. They were also pretty chill - they even tried to convince me to keep my vehicle instead of signing it off to them (which is another story).I hope you find this review helpful. Hopefully these details will save you time and energy. At the end of the day, in my case, it was 100% my fault that my vehicle got towed. Also, the place is an NYPD impound lot, it’s not Disneyland and your vehicle got towed so it’s not a positive experience. Just mentally and physically prepare yourself.Shoutout to Ms. Tanya who helped me out and to the rest of the crew. I forgot to ask the name of the other lady who also helped me, but thank you lady who wore a white shirt!
Wrongfully towed my car when there were no signs nearby saying no parking. It took me 2 miles and an hour and a half to walk here because the cop who broke into my car to attach it to the tow truck wouldnt talk to me as he was towing my car away. Found out through a friend who works for the NYPD that the only reason it was towed is because the person whose house I was legally parked in front of is a constant complainer so they towed me to shut them up. The people that work here are low life criminals who scam you for money. Gotta love the NYPD, Id say Im surprised that they towed me for no reason but then again they shoot people of color for no reason as well.
On the phone theyll tell you that you can tow your vehicle out yourself via a uhaul and in person theyll claim that you gotta call one of their buddy who is a licensed tow truck driver. Like i dont mind paying a licensed tow truck but dont tell me to spend 70 bucks renting an uhaul and then telling i cant use it and gotta pay a tow truck 150 cash to just take my vehicle out of the lot. And to top it all off you got a fake cardi b looking employee gossiping about you to her coworkers in spanish as if I dont speak spanish and understand every single word you saying lil fake cardi b looking b.
If theres a way to give them a half of star I would give it to them because thats what they deserve, their customer service is the worst they got me wanting 3 times in hold, when she finally decided to talk to me, you could hear them laughing and cracking up in the back. Very unprofessional, rude. Shes lucky I dont add her name in this post.
They said my car it was blocking the curb. BS...I had no proof and had to pay to get my car. lost a day from work. They sent me on my way without giving me my license back...called them and they said they have it. I went to pick it up and they could not find it...never in my life.paid $305 to these crooks and now I have to get another day off to get a new license?
Worst experience ever, I dislike this place with a passion... my car was towed for no reason and I had to walk 5 miles to find this place because my car was towed at 10 pm at night in queens and I live in the bronx... paying for parking next time to avoid getting towed again

2022-07-01Shady operation that targets the more vulnerable. No-one bothered being of any help or offer explanations. Purely a money-making scheme

2022-03-24Honestly, no one wants to be here, and yes it was inconvenient, but we had all of the paperwork, and cash (the machine was down) and after waiting for a guy to get off of his break we got our car and the whole ordeal was like 30 min. The shortest of out NYC tow yard experiences.

2022-03-09Just wonderful if you owe $$$ to NYC for unpaid parking tickets. Dont expect any type of sympathy from the workers as they dont care. Dont get aggravated just giving you a heads up.

2018-12-10Worst experience so far in NYC. Glad I am moving out of this hell hole next month. Deal with the ladies behind the booth, Adam the goofy tall white dude is helplessly feckless. They said to file a claim about the damage that their tow truck driver made to my vehicle, but it can take 1-5 years.

2022-02-24Call was okay but not helpful. NYPD called me talking about they found my stolen car but would not give me any info on the car. So I had to bring in my lawyer. NYPD does not help at all....

2021-05-24Your experience is your own. Remember in order to drive a motor vehicle, you must have a valid Drivers licence. ,The vehicle must b registered and insured. With that mind you must know the rules and regulation of parking your vehicle within the 5 boroughs of New York City. I find that the people who complain are more than likely not part of the rest of the city that abide by the rules and laws of driving and parking. So the next time you complain about the service in which youve received, place yourself in the position of the person serving you. Are you licensed, registered and insured? But better yet, can you produce the items that you are being asked for (not a substitution)? Have you parked your vehicle correctly (not, I park there all the time or I was only gone for a minute)? Truly, take responsibility for your part. Provide the documents need, but most of all learn the rules and regulations of both driving and parking. Trust me, your life would b so much easier and you wouldnt have the time to provide bad comments that do not tell your portion of the horrible experience in which youve encountered. I say all of this to say take responsibility for your actions, be an adult.

2018-11-05Worst service ever! And not because I had to get my car. This place is run down, the people are rude and impatient. The entrance is thru a prison looking gate on the side of the building. Welcome to NY.

2021-05-17I came here because my vehicle was towed. There are negative experiences from others here - and it can be true. But I had a phenomenal treatment today. Everybody was kind and fast. The lady in the front and the security guard, to the officer escort outside. They were all helpful
