If you love running in New York, this is the place for you! With lockers, changing rooms, water fountains, restrooms, and a running gear store, this place has everything you need to get a run in and go about your day. The facility is nice and clean, the people are friendly and helpful, and the proximity to Central Park is incredibly convenient.
I dont understand how they dont answer the phone nor respond to emails. For three werks my daughter has tried to register for a run on march 6th but was told that it was too late. When she explained that she has been away for two years in the military air force branch, they didnt say, thank you for your service, but that it was too late. Then she started to call and send emails to see if an exseption could be given, but the phone message nor emails are ever returned. If its to too late and an exseption cant be made to our first responders/military personel is one thing but to not respond to her inquiries is another and totally disrespectful. Our heros should never be treated this way.
I’ve had tendonitis ever since a near fall last winter and I was so tired of trying to find sneakers that were supportive and would help alleviate my chronic pain. Someone suggested New Balance and this store was the only place I could find with a wide range of styles for me to try on. They even had a foot scanner that would suggest the best style for your foot. I tried on a pair of 880V10s and it felt like heaven, literally like I was walking on cotton balls. I loved the way it conformed to the shape of my foot. I walked out with them on my feet and threw my old pair of kicks in the trash before even leaving the store.I was so impressed with the sneakers I went back to get my son a pair. He’s recently started a new job that requires a lot of standing and he comes home with a lot of foot pain. But this time I noticed another style and inquired about them. Just when I thought my feet couldn’t feel any better I tried on the Fresh Foam More v2s! Mind you, I tried them on for my son just to understand the feel of them and was sold on getting a pair for myself. The sales clerk was super helpful, brought me 2 styles to try on and was very patient while I decided between the styles. She even looked out when it counted the most! Although I didn’t catch her name that shout out is for the woman with the braids and glasses.
The center of my running life in NY. The staff in the Hub and in the NB store are friendly, welcoming, and professional. There are an assortment of free information events or classes/workshops and race strategy sessions. Its nice to chat with members of the local running community after such events. There are lockers and changing rooms if you want to head out on a run from here; and water, bathrooms, even hand sanitizer (I use the lockers at least once a week for this purpose). The location is great, and NYRR is a well-managed, positive and community-centered organization. Also, super interesting photos and run history materials on the walls. Its just a happy space to be in. There is lots of excitement here, too, as the marathon approaches. (If you use NB shoes, the store at this location donates a pair to youths for each one you purchase.)
Was quickly able to collect my race bib and shirt. New Balance has a retail shop there. All NYC Marathon medals dating back to 1976 were on display. Clean place with lockers and a yoga studio. Some memorabilia showcased on the walls too. Staff were welcoming and helpful.
It an awesome place where they offer lots of free activities and recovery sessions for runners. There are also bag drop lockers for members where you can leave your before going for a run and come back and pick it up after youre done with your run. Here you can go to pick up your bib(race number), your running shirt for your specific race, and you can engrave your medal with your name and official time.
Really great and accommodating running store. If you want to go on a run you can drop your stuff and change. There are also bathrooms and water bottle refill machines. Picking up your packet is super easy even during times after work, the line moves really fast and the workers are quick with everything.
This is a New Balance store and a run center. The run center has running groups, classes and information sessions. It has 3 changing rooms and free lockers to leave your stuff in to go running. Its handy for me. I can walk over after work leave my stuff and go for a run in Central Park.
A Midtown storefront gem and great place to take a quick break, especially if youre a runner. Replenish your water, use the restroom, charge your phone, just sit down, chill and who knows who you might encounter. And take a look at the uniquely chill running gear...heres a place to get a special gift for a runner friend you know. Or special souvenir for you. The NYRR Runcenter is the eternally springing source supporting so many fab NY races.
Road running (and racing in general) has changed drastically in the past 10 years.Today, race organizers (and their organizations) are political organizations. Not Democrat/Repulican per se, but rather social and community political stuff.Take the NYRR for example... They just blew out their president because the NYRR EMPLOYEES thought he wasnt doing enough to be inclusive or sensitive enough to the staff of NYRR. What total BS. What, are the inmates running the asylum over there? This organization doesnt seem to put much focus and attention on athletic excellence anymore. The main goal now seems to focus on having the right types of people on their marketing materials so they can go on about how good they are for the community. So it goes...
Easy to get to from Columbus Circle subway (A train). Bib and shirt pickup for their races are quick. Wall art history is interesting and the wall with all of the past NYC Marathon Medal is cool! Small New Balance store is good. Spacious bathrooms and easy access lockers are convenient.
Now all bib pickups are in this now convenient midtown location. Its very spacious and close to mass transportation. They have lockers and restrooms for your convenience and comfort. They even have a NB Runhub. Now if they only opened a spot for drinks and snacks, runners wont want to leave and just hangout there.
Since being introduced to NYRR and their runs mid-2017, Ive tallied a handful of runs (Bronx 10, Staten Island and Fred Lebow Halves) with them with a handful more scheduled. While Ive never been one to pay for many memberships, my NYRR has already paid for itself in discounted runs!Membership has other privileges besides discounts on their runs. They offer tips and tricks and training to members. They also do free medal engraving post runs for members - Ive seen engraving priced higher than the cost of a NYRR membership at other runs. As I dont live in NYC, I dont think I could list (or take advantage of) the other membership perks. The run center is an excellent place to hang out and free for anyone to swing by. The New Balance center is a smaller shop, but has a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Overall, 5-stars for NYRR!
I don’t use the facilities much because I live in Brooklyn but anytime I come here to pick up bibs or at the end of a shakeout run, everybody is SUPER friendly. And even when they are crammed with runners due to a huge race, they let you know and don’t get grumpy. Dogs are just as welcome as humans in all stages of sweatiness.
Always excited to pick up my bibs. Place is clean and staff are friendly. Of the many times I’ve been there I only had one experience I wasn’t comfortable with but I decided to let it go. Been there many many times to pick up bib and shop at the very expensive new balance store.
Excellent center promoting long distance running, organizing races within the city, offering facilities (lockers, bathrooms, chargers, water bottle filing station), providing fitness related activities (lectures, talks, yoga, pilates, stretching, etc). Great for active visitors to the city as well!
Came for a CPR training today that I pre-registered for. It was a race stay so the run hub was more crowded than usual. had to use the restroom. 3 people ahead of me yet i waited at least 10 mins. what were these people doing. this place has a separate advertised changing space. bathroom was gross. pee on the seats, no toilet paper! no information/signage for the CPR class. finally 10 mins later found a volunteer who was helping with queens 10k bib pick up. she said the class was cancelled. no email nothing indicating that. for a major nonprofit and racing organizer, i find this to be very unprofessional.
Popped in got sneaker advice and walked out with 2 band new pairs.Wonderful support and advice from a young employee called Mia after I was concerned the sneakers I had been running in for 8 years were causing me discomfort!10 minutes later I found 2 new great pairs of shoes and had an incredible run for the United Half! Will be changing my sneakers more often in future lol
Quick and easy bib-pickup before races and a great location, with friendly faces. If youre doing a post-race medal engraving, I suggest coming before 5pm, as larger races (i.e. NYC Half/TCS Marathon) will have some lines. While waiting for the NYC Half medal engraving, I was treated to a free beer, and I only really had to wait about 30 minutes at peak time (5:30pm).
Very disappointed with experience I had today. I won free ticket for United Airline, back in October. As you can see from the downloaded pic I CAN see this is as my upcoming race, Ive been dying to participate in this race for so long. Today I just called to double check if everything ok, and the guy said that Im NOT REGISTERED, refused to help me at and hang up on me when I asked any further questions & asked to speak with a manager. (the guy asked manager and said NO, you cant participate) but when I asked to speak with a manager - apparently he wasnt available for the whole day . This is RIDICULOUS, Im willing to participate, followed all the rules and by the end my dream was gone in one day.Every runner will understand how it feels like.
If you run and live or frequently visit New York, do your self a favor and become a New York Road Runners member. There are discounts on their well run races and early access to signing up. Additionally, if you are looking for a pair of New Balance shoes, this is the place to buy them. For each pair of New Balance shies shoes purchased, a pair is donated to the New York Road Runners Rising Youth program which delivers shoes to underpirvaleged youth.

2022-03-31Place to pick up your bib and gear before the NYRR races, such as the NYC marathon and other major and minor races. They also have a ton of New Balance gear and describe the history of NYRR.Well organized with helpful staff that helped me get out with my bib and shirt in under 3 minutes.

2022-09-08Mixed results here. My salespersons name was Felix and he was outstanding. I really liked him and he was so patient and knowledgeable about the products. He made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions. His name should only be used in 5 star reviews. If Felix is not the manager, or on manager track, please consider this for him! Thank you Felix. My follow up visit with someone else, I will not use the name, was not so good. This person barely gave me the time of day.Lastly, hey NB, please please go back to using a regular cushion on the sneakers. The Fresh Foam is way too soft. It may be comfortable for walking for some people, but for others it aggravates existing issues.

2022-04-02I have a lot of happy memories of participating in their activities, going upstairs to check out the NB goods at their NB store. The most exciting part of visiting this place was picking up race T-shirts wondering what it is going to look like and what color it is going to be. One memorable moment was picking up a race shirt one size bigger than mine after a friend called me to tell me that the one she picked up was too small for her and she wanted to swap shirts when we see each other.

2022-09-12Please do a better job at informing participants where to pick up apparel for future race(s).Arrived to pick up race bib and went upstairs to pick up the race shirt like normal routine. One of the managers ran out yelling in an inappropriate manner that it was downstairs. The perception made it look like I was there to shoplift merchandise. Please do better. Thank you.

2017-11-11Convenient location and hours to pick up race bibs and shirts. They have regular events and activities for running enthusiasts to participate in. Check out the wall of previous NYC marathon medals. The WiFi and charging stations are perfect when you are waiting for medal engraving. There are also 3 big, clean unisex restrooms which helps when I happen to have kids in tow. Sign up to be a NYRR member!

2020-08-21Throughout 2019 I had fortifying experiences for myself and with others. So many productive activities offered at this place. I wish I had a girlfriend to go to the hub with. Either solo, with a group or couples- the hub can brighten your day, your run or fitness journey. We all cant wait til it reopens.

2022-09-10The staff is a tad condescending and not exactly eager to be helpful either. Surprised me a bit - mustve been a long day for them or something.

2017-09-15This is ground zero for all things running in NYC. Grab a locker, change into your running gear and head out to the park. The space also houses the New Balance store for NYC. Get a 3D scan of your foot for an informed decision on shoe size and type.
