Now this hospital has a dentistry inside of it they are disgusting and very horrible unorganized unprofessional waste of time. Now normally walk-in’s you’ll be there for 4-5 hours probably six hours waiting don’t matter how serious or simple your issue is. you will be waiting a long time Now if you have a appointment 7 times out of 10 you’ll still be waiting four to five hours. I went there for a chipped tooth I had 2 walk-in’s and one appointment all three of those times I was waiting for 5 to 6 hours and all they did was x-rays and then they told me to come back for more x-rays like c’mon sad never going there again got the elderly waiting hours most of the chairs are used to separate the ppl from the receptionist table. That’s another thing the third time I went there I just walked in skipped everybody because I had an appointment and went to the machine to check in. After I did that two hours later one of the receptionist that just clocked in told everybody on the long line if they had an appointment check in with the machine half of the line went to the machine. Unorganized.
The ED care was fine but the billing is horrendous. They overcharge. Ridiculous charge for er visit for less than 4 hrs of stay. They charged my insurance over $27000 for Ed care which included CT with iv contrast, ultrasound, some routine blood test, urine analysis,1 liter saline, Tylenol, 1 injection of toradol and zofran. Their radiology department sent a separate bill and now I have to pay $272 to radiology department separately. This kind of billing should be criminal.
I work at a local healthcare office in the area and if you’re a young Hispanic woman (even if you are bringing in your child) you will be turned away. Roughly 3-4 people a DAY within that demographic are told to come to our office and wont be seen in the ER. We’ve literally called the hospital to tell them to act more ethically YESTERDAY and sure enough it’s not even 11am and we have a young Hispanic woman whose child needs help that was sent over from Langone. We are happy to help anybody in need, but it’s frustrating that the people down the road have such a bias on who they will and will not help. One star until they help everybody indiscriminately LIKE A HOSPITAL SHOULD.
If i could give this hospital a zero i would. The receptionists are rude. My mother has been in this hospital for around 2 weeks and the neglect to give her medication on time and neglect to clean her if she pees herself. They treats patients and their relatives very badly and i will never let my mother come back to this hospital
(July 2020)My baby girl was delivered here 5th Floor and my partner had c-section. I stayed with her for 3 days and it was a pretty good experience. The room was very small (Limited space) where we stayed and there was another couple on the other side. Some nurses made it easy for us checking up on us from time to time, but others not much. Other then that it was not to bad. They have a cafe and the food is not to bad (cash only).I give it a 4 star only because the front lobby to enter is a mess. Its very disorganized and the system they are using is broken, due to Covid-19.My baby mother was being discharged so I quickly go out. I went to my car to get the car seat. I saw a long line to enter , so I asked an employee if I have to make the line. She told me to ask the manager I asked the manager and she said I had to wait the long line. It only took me 2 minutes to get the car seat. I was upset because I was already was there for 3 days and had a bracelet as vistor. I had to wait 30 minutes to get back in. The security in the hospital is unsafe and is a joke. They have unarmed security and they dont have metal detectors or wand visitors. Anyone can easily bring a weapon and they wouldnt know.(Second experience) January (2022)I had my second child here and my second time here was a little bit different. The nurses this time were all great and the room is very small. You will likely need to share with another family. This time I experienced the window side and there is much more leg room and more comfortable last time I was very uncomfortable. Ive seen alot of empty rooms and the hospital is money hungry and they try to make you feel uncomfortable by putting two familys together in a room, so you could pay a private room and be alone. The private rooms is well over 500$ a day. I was lucky to have the room for free for ourselves, because familys left and paid for private rooms. If you are sharing a room keep an eye on belongings another family took our belongings while switching to a private room. I noticed it and eventually a nurse got it back for us. I would keep valuables near the bed area.
.y husband was just here the care n serious i dont like. Its very dirty my husband was in the hospital 3 days his sheets wasnt changed i had to tell them he spilled coffee n he had fever sweating an needs his sheets changed. There was nats flying around garbage was full for 2 days. Some of the nurses was really good i understand there short staffed buti really didnt appreciate my husbands treatment.its a very dirty hospital
Came here when my baby was diagnosed with Covid after a horrible experience at a community hospital (Coney Island). We were seen promptly and taken care of extremely well. We were seen by a pediatrician who was caring, thoughtful, well-spoken, and downright amazing. We felt involved in the care of our daughter and were reassured along the way. Thanks, NYU!
The wait to see a dentist in way too long! Imagine having a set appointment time, then you get there 5 or 10 minutes ahead of time, due to the line to get in.... to only end up having to wait 2 hours or more!! Highly unacceptable!! I wish I could put 0 stars! Its literally a BIG NO!
First was sent to cobble Hill emergency room and was a great experience. Dr said I was to be admitted for my condition so they transferred me to Lutheran with me and my gf. We get there and the refused to let her up because of vaccination status and her negative test was 5 days old. Im a first responder and also unvaccinated. They told me even in uniform we are not allowed in the building. The room they put me in was dirty and no one checked me for 30 min. Meanwhile the other person in the room was loud and when I told staff all I wanted to do was rest they did nothing. I checked myself out. Better off going to my home hospital in staten island. True garbage this hospital.
I had a very bad experience when this hospital was Lutheran, was scared to go back. However I loved my doctor and decided to give it a shot. It was amazing! Everything was clean, staff on top of everything and most were kind and caring. Very high tech, everything streamlined in the app. Not sure about the emergency room or the surrounding neighborhood (very run down and dirty), but the hospital and the doctors were amazing!!
On hold forever. No one calls back if you get the answering machine.I’d give zero stars if I could.I was on hold this long before the operator came on. She could not give me the unit phone number so she transferred me. They hung up on me. Now I am waiting, again. I will never send my loved one here, again.
This used to be a decent hospital. Back on September 2018, my father was admitted here and the social worker/billing department made every attempt to overcharge for my fathers stay and not cooperate in assisting in finding a nursing home for him.Even after my family told the billing department the change of address and power of attorney, they decided to refuse cooperating with my family to pay the outstanding balance and send a collection agency after my father.Ever since NYU took over, the hospital became garbage and the staff uncaring and/or incompetent.
There was only one pediatric nurse in the ER and she didn’t even know how to draw blood. Traumatized my niece to the fullest and then tried to blame my niece . She stood still and didn’t even move her arm when she tried to take her blood . Blood everywhere . We even asked her if she had to take the torniquete off for the blood to flow and she said she THINKS . Not know . THINKS . That’s supposed to push the blood into the tube . I’ve never had blood draw like that . Went to Maimonides instead .
On Saturday October 16 th I went to the emergency room thinking of having acid reflux for the past 2 weeks. After going to an emergency room in Staten Island last week little did I know it was my heart. For the past week I had multiple tests done and everything was showing negative results. After sleepless nights and so much pain I said enough. I went to trauma 1 emergency room at Lutheran center. I am sorry I Cant remember everyone name .Starting with my nurse Melissa and continuing with Dr Whitman and his PA assistant. They were quick and fast to notice my increasing pain which lead me to a heart attack. Quickly more nurses and Doctors rushed to my side and quickly determined that I Was having a heart attack..I was sent quickly to the intensive side of the er and was brought immediately to a cardiovascular team awaiting for me. With the quick decision of Dr Atul Sharma and his glorious team the made a decision that lead me to putting a stent. Words can not describe how blessed and thankful I am to have met such a kind, smart, professional Doctor I ever met. All the nurses and Doctors that participated played a role in healing me. I will never forget what you all have done for me. I am so honored and grateful to also meet such an amazing cardiologist Dr. Sharma and will continue this relationship with him being he made me feel completely safe in his hands. Thank you so much to all of the employees and staff at Lutheran medical center. You all deserve all the rewards possibly that there is……
I gave birth to my son at NYU Langone in August 2021. I had a great experience mainly because of my delivery nurse Lormina. She was amazing!!! Professional and kind, she was attentive to all my needs. She allowed me to stand during labor, brought me a fitball to balance on and taught me breathing. Not like I listened to her the whole time, but she tried her best. She made me feel confident and calm, as I gave birth to an amazing baby boy. He was big, healthy and beautiful. I also noted some positive changes on the mother and baby unit, from my last delivery experience in 2016. This time, all the healthcare members were encouraged to breastfeed, there was no formula advertising and no commercial product for it. The lactating specialist came by, she chatted with me nicely and helped to get a better latch for the baby. I have to say, it was pretty relaxing to stay at the mother and baby unit. The food was not bad at all for a hospital, including choices you can select from. I would have stayed an extra day or two, if it was free. It felt like a nice place to recover. A peaceful place away from the chaos of the world. I have good memories of NYU Lutheran. There is not much more I can expect from a modern city hospital, really. Thanks for all the nurses, nurse assistance and to Lormina specifically.
This hospital is so poorly understaffed it borders on negligence in that they are all well aware of their resource constraints but continue to take patients. There is zero accountability among staff and its as if they dont even know each other let alone communicate patient care plans (to colleagues or patients). If an issue arises so serious that it needs to be escalated the most common response is not “I understand your concern and will try to figure out how to mitigate these issues,” but rather “oh well I wasn’t there.”
I am so dam disappointed in this hospital it still stink lauthern the rooms ridiculous small my fiance is patient here right with a infection and they supposedly recovering covid patient next to him y this happening he have his own situation going on already this man shouldnt be sharing a room with my fiance come on nyu you all suppose be better than lauthern. And the hospital nasty.
I would like the personally thank the staff of the ambulatory dept on the treatment I received today. From the moment I walked in until the moment I was discharged they couldn’t have been more thoughtful, caring, polite, friendly and above all competent. As former HR administrator I know how important it is to give credit when credit is due. Again, my heartfelt thanks.
Love the doctor who delivered my baby , but when it comes to hygiene this hospital is the worse. For the delivery everything was spotless and very clean. For the recovery everything was a mess. They didn’t even bother to clean up the garbage can.Bathroom was not cleaned not even once from Thursday to Saturday. I told the nurse twice that the bathroom needed to be cleaned. I texted twice to the number that they have in the bathroom. I got reply that it was going to be taken care of , they came and just sprayed., which didn’t do anything anyway. There is blood stains everywhere; on the door , toilet , floor. The floor probably hasn’t been cleaned in months. If I have to deliver again sorry I will not return. I do not need an infection.
This hospital is HORRIBLE the receptionists in the emergency room are rude, unprofessional and careless. These people in the emergency room needs to be retrain on how to talk and act more professional to people in general. The receptionists act lazy and looks lazy/unprofessional, they acted it like they’re doing you a favor. The doctors and nurses are kind, many years ago this hospital used to be my hospital, so much has change.
I had foot surgery at NYU Brooklyn and was very impressed with the caliber of medical professionals and care I was given. It’s not the slickest newest facility but honestly it’s the people, passion and skills that really count and NYU delivered. The diversity in the team that both prepped and facilitated the surgery was really inspiring. They were a very strong communicative team that seemed to have tremendous amount of respect for each other and me as the patient. I’d definitely go back (but hope I don’t have to).
My father has emergency rush to this hospital . Try to get MRI Done and get surgery as soon as possible . went to hospital 9am in morning and waiting over 36 hours try to get MRI in this 36hours no drink and eating at all. And then they told my father have to wait another 14hours to get MRI then have surgery. This is ridiculous. This hospital try to starve my father over 60 hours and kill him. Dude . I will kill those who try to kill my father
I went to this hospital. Got sick on my way to work. EMS took me to there. I received an I.V of course they drew blood. After a few hours test was normal. The doctor discharge me. But then decided he wanted chest x-ray. I didnt decide to go see my doctor. I had Pneumonia. That doctor dropped the ball. I wonder if my skin color played a roll in him not ordering test. I came in sweating in the depth of winter.
Had a heart monitor put on and the nurse told us to come back in two days for the doctor to go over the results and the blood work. We come back and give the heart monitor back, but a different nurse says we have to make an appointment to talk to the doctor. Disorganized bunch of staff, not willing to help, and gave us an attitude. Go to a different hospital. Highly not recommended.
The staff on the first floor ( the entrance on 55th street)NYU Hospital at 150 55th street Brooklyn NY 11220 are the WORST!!! Especially the woman with the red hair. They have a sign up warning visitors to be respectful however they are rude and unprofessional. They also turn their ID tags around so you can’t see their names or tittles. It’s very disheartening to deal with people like this when you are there to visit a sick loved one.
My daughter had a 3:30 appointment for a sonogram and was told to drink two bottles of water before getting there. We got there about 3:35 because the entrance we were directed to was closed and we had to walk around the entire building. By this time she really had to use the bathroom. After waiting for 16 mins I told the receptionist that she really needed to use the bathroom. She called the technician she said she would be there in 6 minutes. At 4pm we were still waiting, my daughter almost peed herself. I took her to the bathroomShe had to drink more water and even then the technician didnt show up. She didnt come until almost 5pm. How is someone supposed to hold their pee for so long? Only one technician works here he? The service was horrible...the woman who finally showed up had no sense of urgency either. I would never go back here!
THIS PLACE DESERVES TO BE SHUT DOWN. Staff didnt want to give me a wheelchair to bring my mother to the er. She collapsed and I had to scream for the security to page doctors. The doctors performed cpr on her while she was still conscious and less than 10 minutes later she was dead. If you intend to live DONT GO THERE.
When I was looking for a place to have a baby, I looked at reviews and did not find many for this hospital for labor and delivery. The lack of reviews here, compared with the many positive reviews for another hospital, almost made me refrain from choosing this one. In the end, proximity to my home and the fact that I really liked the doctor who delivered here made me choose this hospital. Now that I have given birth here, I would like to write a detailed review to provide some of the information that I had wish was available when I was looking for a place.I came here for an induction at 2 pm. Things did not really start going until 4 pm, but it was going to be a long night anyway so the waiting wasnt really an issue since I was brought to a room quite promptly. Even though there were several other women also in labor, the ward was very quiet, probably due to good sound proofing. The nurses seem to change shifts twice a day, so within each 12 hour period I had a new nurse. All of the nurses I had were really friendly and made me feel comfortable. Most importantly, I felt like my concerns were heard and preferences were adhered to. They have a very culturally and linguistically diverse staff. They asked me my preferences for pain medication, and whether I wanted baby to do skin to skin right away. What I didnt like, but seems standard for US hospitals, is that they did not allow me to have anything except for clear liquids after the induction started. I had my last baby in Switzerland and was allowed to eat as I wanted to, just told not to eat too much. They provided broth, horrible jello, and some apple drink with a lot of sugar.Through each procedure, someone would explain to me what was going on, and what I could expect to feel. This was important to me since several of these procedures are pretty painful, and it was nice to have someone to help me breathe through it and be aware of what to expect. The hospital took measures to protect us from COVID-19. All patients are tested, and I got my results within an hour. Since I was negative, I did not have to keep my mask on during my labor. My husband kept his on though since he was not tested. Because of COVID, I was only allowed one visitor, and unfortunately my 2 year old son could not visit at all, but that is understandable given the circumstances. After my baby was born, we were moved to a recovery room. The recovery rooms are shared, but because of COVID we opted to just pay for a private room. We wanted early discharge so that I could go home to see my son, so it would only be 24 hours. The rate for a private room starts at 300 per night, and goes up depending on the size of the room. The nurses in recovery were also nice, and the hospital food was better than I expected. Its hard to rest since someone comes in to check on various things every two hours at least, but I understand that if you are a person who has complications postpartum that is probably important. They have a nursery available so that if you want to take a break, they will take the baby so you can sleep better. They are also very supportive of breastfeeding, and even had a lactation consultant come visit and ask if I had any questions. The nurses and staff were all so responsive and friendly. I am really happy that I choose to have my baby here.
My nurse in recovery, whose name I unfortunately cant recall right now, was amazing and she made sure that someone was looking after me when she had to go on break; but just listening to the whole staff in recovery, they were so helpful with each other. Everyone here worked so well as a team that I never languished for attention. Admins, nurses, orderlies, doctors, every one I encountered just had great attitudes and were very helpful and made my situation feel not as terrible.
Great care at NYU Langone in Brooklyn. My dad went to the ER for a stroke and they took him in right away. The neurologist who examined him took great care of him (unfortunately, I forgot his name). I would also want to give a special shoutout to Evelyn in the ER department, Sally, Delmy, Grace, and Girlie on the 3rd floor for their amazing care. They also advocated for me and my family and I can not thank them enough! Sally and Delmy not only took care of my dad but they took care of me as well to ensure that I was okay. I hope they get recognized.
Poor management, nurses not paying attention to their patients. Nurses not giving the patients medications on time. Nursing students walking around with print out patients health information on plain view and taking it home. HIPAA violations right there.Another thing I noticed that many nurses take time to study for their masters online while on the clock. very unprofessional if my medications are suppose to be giving at 9 am why Im getting it at 3hrs later. especially high blood pressure medications. The nurse on the 3rd floor calling me honey, Im not your honey.
I was a patient in the rusk rehabilitation unit in bklyn. The staff in rehab were excellent, helpful and ask what you would like to work on as far as your goals. The biggest problem with this facility is the size of the patient rooms.this is definitely a safety hazard, Im surprised the state, city and OSHA allow this kind of thing to exist ,also the air conditioning system needs UPDATES. Stay safe and have a great day also cant forget Dr.fine who goes out of his way to make sure you understand all that is going on with your specific situation.
All I can say is that Im just glad to be out of there after my delivery. Some staff was okay. And some would just be very disrespectful. And dont think they really cared about taking care of a baby, their cell phones were more important and receiving phone calls.Didnt feel like a hospital it felt like a training room.
Terrible hospital, they made me wait 5 hours after the Anastasia had wore out but kept giving me strong pain medication before helping me to walk. The staff there seems so busy that they forget or maybe doesn’t read the patients charts that they are supposed read before sending me home. I had TLIF L4l5 spine surgery. When I decided to have the surgery they said I will be in the hospital for 2-3 days. In the recovery room they say that the doctor said for me to go home the same days. After being in terrible pain ,and with the taught that I would be walking pain free. I was too dizzy to even stand. Then the nurse says that I have to go home and if anything happens I should come back to the ER. I’m still understand Anastasia and shaking with confusion and disbelieve of what was happening in the recovery room finally after complaining the doctor comes and change my medication to non drowsy pain meds. That’s when I was able to walk but I still decided to stay one night and go home in the morning. When I got to the room 4 hours after the nurse there said I cannot get the same medication so she give me another kind of medication which did not work. So all night I was in excruciating pain and could not sleep till morning. I hadnt ate anything all day and I’m being feed all kinds of medication on an empty stomach. So with the pain being 10 I had to fight for something to change. Finally a new medication and it’s working I can go to the bathroom and feel some relief. The nurses there act like the patient are a problem and that it is a bother for them if a patient call too many times. When morning come they offer me no breakfast and the same for lunch. Very poor treatment and sadly it is a bad experience for me. I wrote this review to make known that this is not a third world country and a hospital that carries the name NYU should be better than that. Very disappointed and will never go back or recommend anyone there 👇🏼
This hospital has horrible service. You call the nurse no body shows up after an hour or more of waiting, the e.r room desperately wanting to send me to another dpto just because Im pregnant but I didnt come in to the e.r due to any issues with my pregnancy, I came here for uncontrol asthma, the nurse came to check my vital signs but leaves the room as soon as putting the cuff on my arm and didnt come back for the past half hour already. The Dr came in to ask me why I dont want to go to LnD and then explains my options and ran out of the room, meanwhile Im sitting here in a stretcher at the e.r gasping for air and wondering whats gonna happen to me and where am I supposed to turn for help to
We live in Oregon and my daughter goes to school in Brooklyn. She had to have her appendix removed on October 20 and the care she received was excellent! And even though she is over 18, Dr. Schwed called me once her surgery was over to let me know how everything went. This was greatly appreciated since we were so far way. Outstanding hospital!
Hands down the best hospital in Brooklyn for everyone. They treat everyone very well and work hard to take the best care of their patients. I work with developmentally disabled adults and they are the best and most compassionate hospital that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I would recommend them to everyone and I would love to be taken there if I ever became sick. They are just awesome! All of the employees are very kind, from the housekeepers to the pharmacists, to all of the doctors and nurses. I work as a Care Manager, and I appreciate the way that they take care of the people that I support.
If I could give them zero stars, I would. This NYU LANGONE location is the most racist among all the spots I’ve been to. They are poorly equipped, jeopardize the health of their patients and they will discriminate against you based on race. In addition, there are long wait times for making appointments, for attending appointments and when it comes time to exit the place, they give you the hardest time.
This hospital has one of the best ER staff ever seen. Fast diagnosis and treatment. I shouldnt name names but they help me and my family with a tough decision regarding end of life and I am eternally grateful. Their hospice staff is also amazing. They took care of everything even at the end. God bless.
The best service in ERI always take my mom to the emergency room of this hospital and the care is excellentThey have a floor where they put patients for observation that belongs to the emergency roomThanks to all the emergency room employees for their good service nurses ,transporters etc etc
This hospital is horrible my dad was in the hospital for covid and i was asking the nurse in the icu and she hunged up the phone on me its ridicoulus how a nurse can do that its her job to answer questions and not only that we went to visit him and we saw how the machine of the medicine was beeping warning it was time for the new dose , and she took like 15 minutes to give the medicine. and the nurse also said they have different information about the patient if its the same medicine and the same treatment how do they have differrnt information that means they are not doing their job correctly unbelivable
I was in Brooklyn hanging out with a friend when I started to not feel well. I was in Industry City so I went to the ER at NYU. I live close to Cornell in Manhattan and had been there many years ago. After what I experienced, I have a greater appreciate for Cornell.I could not believe how awful my experience was at NYU -- greeted by smokers at the ER door, rude people at the front desk, and doctors and nurses who just ignored you. One of the doctors refused to give a patient near me access to an interpreter. Watching that patient cry as she grew increasingly frustrated was so awful. I tried to complain about it to someone. They sent someone to talk to me. At first I thought this must be a joke because surely the staff in charge of customer service couldnt be this socially awkward. It all devolved from there and got worse.I guess they can get away with treating people so poorly because of the community they serve. My advice to everyone, do yourself a favor and respect yourself enough to go to Methodist or come into the city for good care.
Nice people but the waiting in emergency room is ridiculous. They give you no idea of how long for tests, xrays, etc. With the affordable care act they are making money...management is just too greedy....update...it is now a nightmare...10 hours in ER...3 hours now waiting for bed. My advice, go somewhere else....Update to update...getting discharged is just as bad...6 hours and waiting. The nurses and doctors are great..they need new management here. ..until then, avoid this place.
Worst first impression. Called the main number and the receptionist transferred me to another line before I could finish speaking. She transferred me to patient information desk where the lady was nice enough, but seemed very anxious and unsure of what to do. Finally, I was transferred to the nurses desk where no one answered and so, the call was disconnected. This happened TWO more times before finally someone picked up but she was unwilling to help. I asked her to please give me the phone number of my hospitalized relatives doctor, so my family could stay updated since we are currently unable to to visit. As far as we know, he remains in very critical condition. She said she was not able to because shed have to go check the patient chart since she didnt have the information at hand. When i told her i could hold while she went to get the information i needed, she acted like it was an inconvenience and HUNG UP ON ME without another word. This hospital deserves every bad review it gets. These people dont care.
This hospital does not care for patients or their staff. Administration run things rampant- only to focus on numbers and finance rather than patient care. Covid patients are treated like cattle. Patients are constantly being unsafely downgraded to squeeze other patients in due to lack of nursing staff. Constantly short staffed and the staff is exhausted and miserable because of it. STAY AWAY.
My grandmother was treated by the GYN team (attending Dr. Hacker) and got exceptional care. They were so dedicated and visited several times a day as well as came promptly whenever there was any question or concern. While the hospital itself could use some infrastructure improvements, we generally had a very positive experience.
I had the worst experience at NYU langone hospital. I took my son to the emergency room because he was in a vegetative state of mind. Despite that they misdiagnosed my son, which Im sure does happen--the worst part about the visit was an altercation with a security officer by the name of Morales. The security officer insisted that I leave the emergency room bed due to covid concerns, despite my pleas that my son was not able to communicate because of his depressive state. The officer did not have any sense of empathy and removed me from the room. When I came back my son was crying hysterically. A half hour later, I saw three police officers joking and laughing with a formal officer who, apparently , had a minor injury and was stationed just outside of where my sons bed was. Where were the covid concerns at that point? I suspect white privileged officers took precedence over covid concerns. If you care about your family members, nyu langione is not the place to seek medical attention.
I check in to ER at 2 am on NYE night. Really happy with all of the team at NYU Langone Hospital. Had severe leg pain. They checked me in with in 10 minutes and put me in bed. With in next 15 min doctor, nurse and X-ray specialist we’re with me taking all the tests. So fast, efficient, professional and friendly. Doctor David Schaeffer, Nurse Patrick and all the team behind the scenes, Thank you so much for taking care of me.
Very poor emergency experience. The nurse and the doctors simply ignore you. If your skin has color. My child kept crying in the emergency room because he was sick. I waited for 4 hours in the emergency room and no one came to help us. The doctors are impatient and they will bark at you. Very unprofessional. Very irresponsible to the patient. The security guards are very rude. Very rude, they are very disrespectful to the patient. Garbage hospital! ! Will not come to this hospital again, I will return to maimonides hospital
Terrible it’s been 5 hours and I still haven’t been seen ! This is ridiculous and they have crackheads walking around here and sleeping in the waiting room when it’s packed already. Security seemed like amateurs I will never come back here! Don’t waste your time coming here still haven’t gotten seen !!!! Unbelievable
Ambulance brought me there for a compound fracture. I was operated on within 2 hours. Immediately after the operation was a bit rough as they are stingy with pain meds. I stayed for 2 more days for monitoring/recovery. Food was actually good. The recent takeover has had an affect on staff. People are new and generally have a good attitude but you can see that they havent hit their operational rhythm just quite yet. Be a nice person and you should receive good service.Overall the stay was the nicest part of the trauma experience.
My two kids were delivered here. First one was 2016 spring. The hospital wasn’t under new management yet. The experience was fine. I got a private room after labor for about $200 per night. I had good rest.Second one was delivered two months ago. I have to say this hospital has gone bad after NYU took it. The labor room has two surgery lights. One of them was broken. So my doctor has to move my bed around to adjust the light during labor. And private room price is crazy now. $600 for the exact same room. I got a shared room this time. But for a two nights stay I had my next bed neighbor changed for 4 times. I don’t know what happened to them but I was having a terrible rest during the stay. They even forgot to create a SSN for my newborn so I have to go to the office to create a file by myself. Really this hospital is doing nothing well but charge a lot!
Worst hospital experience ever. My father was Ill, and in attempts to pump out as much money from them as they could. They ran unnecessary test. The employees at the front desk of the emergency entrance were no help. They only want one visitor at a time. And any questions I or a family had was immediately dismissed. Any attempts to try and communicate with the employees was followed with shrugs and IDGAF attitude. Not a place to bring a loved one.
The staff at the front desk to the emergency room is very rude and unprofessional. Discussing patients in a negative manner and discussing what the patients arrived here for and laughing. A headache might be seem like a funny reason to come to the emergency room to you although it can be a symptom of a possible stroke ? The fact that I was able to hear their entire conversation makes it even worse. I don’t understand how a prestigious hospital system like this can have trash working up front. Very disappointing.
My grandpa went to the ER due to high degree fever and abnormal pains around the abdomen. The nurse didn’t check grandpa’s room for more than 1 hours. Some of the ER nurses were chatting instead of taking care of patient. The security person shows no respect to visitors because they just want to kick people’s ass out of ER when visitors were trying to watch after their family. A few days ago, my grandma went to the Long-island hospital, which it was SO MUCH better, professional and respectful to the patients and visitors.
I had a good not great ER experience, they were always attentive to my needs. Only thing I didn’t like was sharing my room with another ill patient. But overall it’s the best I’ve been to in Brooklyn so far. They also give you a neat purple bag to take home which is nice
Pretty great experience for NYC ERs. Seen and processed very quickly (on a Thursday early morning), everyone was kind and they ran the tests I needed quickly. The doctors were only there for two minutes each, as usual, but were nice, and the nurses and techs were great. Was in my own room within 15-20 minutes of checking in.
I would have given this 0 star if it wasn’t for the nurse Doreen and nurse assistant Cathy and the asian nurses who work on the 5th Floor for making me feel comfortable. I was saved by the EMS, when I got to the ER, the female doctor( which I will keep her name confidential to keep her job) was very rude, she wrote something that wasnt true On my paperwork, and the two guys working in the C/T room during midnight was was very rude and have no manner. I could barely move, the guy told me “GET UP” “MOVE” and then I could barely speak and try to ask for assistant. And he just said “GET UP NOW” The guy behind the glass wasn’t helpful neither he said “HURRY UP” is this how you treat your patient who’s life are in danger? I can’t imagine how much more pain I could’ve been in, if my injury was more severe. Please improve your staffs! This is a hospital for crying out loud, you guys are suppose to be helping people.
I would give zero stars if I could. I have been to a lot of facilities across the country, but this is by far the WORST! My doctor is completely incompetent to the point I had to diagnose myself and then I had to tell him to change the prescription for steroid cream because what he gave me was exactly what caused the problem in the first place and literally EVERY website I read about this skin rash said do NOT use steroid cream. Not to mention, you cant get through to actually talk to anyone. If you need to talk with a nurse or (in my case) need a referral for authorization from your insurance, you have to leave a message to which they never return your call. Maybe because they are so understaffed and overbooked. I had an appointment with a specialist but had to reschedule because they never submitted the request for the insurance! Now I cant get anyone to return my call! As soon as I can get this referral I am finding a new doctor. I would be afraid to take my dog to that place. Literally, the worst experience I have ever had with and doctor/ facility between me and all 3 of my children.
This place is HORRIBLE with customer service. They only have one number to make appointments throughout the entire hospital which would work IF THEY EVER ANSWERED. The operating system & reception is terrible, you will be waiting close to an hour before you get an answer, if you have other doctors trying to contact this hospital you will most likely not get an answer. This hospital has gone down in the dumps, everyone got a position and got lazy.
Worst experience ever!!!My mom just had a surgery by Dr. Levin. He is a wonderful doctor and person! He did the surgery, called me to let me know how it went, came to visit my mom - did all a good doctor can do!!! Thank you Doctor Levin,But, than the ordeal starts: The rooms are small and air free and dirty. My mom needed the machine that helps her circulation - no machine for 2 days. To sit her up in a chair - we had to go and yell at the nurses. Finally, on the 5th day they set her up in a chair and in 2 hours I got a call that the doctors discharged her. She is good to go to a rehab And you know why, just because the Medicare and Medicaid doesnt pay much. The day my mom had the surgery, my husband came over to the recovery room and fainted (because we were in Mexico and he got the severe case of diarrhea and dehydration). He was wheeled in to the ER, they did all the tests and ruled out heart attack, but wanted to do an Echo Cardiogram to make sure. He stayed there for more than 24hrs - it was not done. He went home, but fainted again. Back at the emergency room - all the same procedures, but ended up lying on a stretcher in the ER for more than 2 days. I spoke to the nurses, head nurse, patients representative, doctors - they didnt want to sign him out as they wanted the Echo Cardiogram done, and it just took over 3 days and my yelling at his doctor in front of a bunch of students to get him out of that place and the Echo still has not been done!!! Is that crazy or what? Just because my insurance pays well, they milk it any way they can!!! The whole experience there is very frustrating! I wish I never get to see this hospital again!!! I hope they shut it down instead of many more decent hospitals that were shot down in Brooklyn.
Never again!!!! I was in the e.r., 3 different patients wheeled into the room i was in, not once did anyone clean anything. Doctors leave you there fir hours without as much as telling you whats happening till you get loud. Ive been to some bad hospitals, but this one takes the cake. I was there fir 7 hours, and i walked out, took my own iv out, couldnt get out fast enough. Stay away!!
Horrible!!! 1 out of 10 nurses are somewhat nice/professional. Apparently one cannot refuse medical treatment here (pretty sure that is illegal) and you are not allowed to leave until they run as many tests/scans as they want so they can charge you to no end. There is only one way in/out and it is guarded by security so there is no leaving until they discharge you. There were no open rooms and all staff members were constantly complaining that they didnt have any time to attend to anyone. If I were on my deathbed I would rather walk as far as necessary to be treated by a better facility.
I came to NYU Langome Emergency Care Unit on Saturday evening and was seen promptly, taken for tests, brought to observation overnight and then admitted until Tuesday morning.I found the nurses and staff, with few exceptions, to be courteous, professional, efficient and responsive. One must remember that a hospital is not a restaurant where your every whim is seen to immediately, but a busy, busy operation with others whose needs may be more critical than your own. My condition, diagnoses, medications, tests and results were all explained clearly and all injections and procedures handled with as little discomfort as possible.Of course there are some staff more attentive, more cordial than others, but I never felt neglected or disrespected. If you want the best care available, be a better patient; you are the center of your universe, but not of everyone elses.
Fair Service. My mother had surgery done and then was basically the guinea pig from time to time when she had blood work done. Certain personnel did not know how to get a vein so use your imagination. Certain RNs were wonderful others were nowhere to be found. The Docs that operated on her did their rounds and were attentive. The maintenance crew were either decent or nowhere to be found either. Luckily my dad and I were picking up after everyone.Overall mixed review but its never a good idea to stay at a hospital longer than a week. With that being said Im not satisfied with the work ethic of certain RNs, technicians or maintenance. I was born in Lutheran but I prefer to die in the street.
Best network rated hospitalBased on a year of personal experience going back and forth from different hospitals (mt Sinai, Presbyterian, NYU).In the beginning I really believed the official ratings of best hospital networks in NYC (#1 Presbyterian, #2 mt Sinai, #3 NYU), but after having a loved one undergo internal bleeding recovery for more than a year and staying in all three network hospitals, our conclusion is #1 is NYU, #2 is mt Sinai and #3 is Presbyterian hospital. We came across many apathetic surgeons and doctors in Mt Sinai and Presbyterian hospital, medical professionals who entirely threw their doctors oath out the window and entirely gave up on my loved ones complicated case. It seems the physicians at those two networks either cared about money too much or their reputation (as the case would be very difficult to follow and would require dedicated doctors), silently scrubbing the patient under the carpet even to the point of denying surgical wound checkup followup appointments! After being denied followup appointments by mt Sinai’s head of surgery Dr. Devino and given up by Presbyterian’s Queens surgeon, Dr. Chun, we kept looking for dedicated doctors and surgeons who would take her case and help her as any human being should, we found NYU’s network doctors who were interested in her case and are currently helping her with wound care, surgery, and even pain management. Where Mt Sinai and Presbyterian fully gave up and abandoned a very ill patient, The NYU medical professionals came to treat her, Gi dr.Serouya and Surgeon, dr.Sinha.As far as for the hospital in the location, the wait times are very fast and they process the patient twice as fast as Presbyterian, Cornell. The nurses are always very helpful and every visit is a benefit, not a rejection or a waste of time as the other two hospitals I mentioned. Keep up the good work.
They are taking care of patients so good. They are answering all your questions. Doctors, nurses, security was great. But I wish they would put more comfortable couch in waiting room for ICU department. Cafeteria is really good, food is so good. Thank you. Best hospital.
I came to the hospital after breaking my wrist. It took a bit of time before someone brought me in to be reviewed by a doctor. Once in with the doctor they re-set my hand to my wrist and gave me something for the pain. My experience was beginning to get better until they sent some inexperienced doctor to come over and review my hand. Without my consent he arranged for me to go up to see the surgeon and have him work on my wrist. He said it was my best option so that I could attain at least 75% function of my wrist/hand. I refused and he was clearly agitated that I wanted to seek a second opinion. I left the hospital with pain killers arranged for a consultation from a third party specialist and he provided a clear set of options. None of which included surgery. My wrist and hand are now stronger than ever without the need of emergency surgery.
I went to the ER 2 times in 1 weekend. First time they sent me home after 7 long hours, and while I’m still in pain saying it’s only stomach inflammation. Hes very young and not experienced, although nice but really no regards for the patient condition and pain. Pain got worse and I was rushed to ER again. My appendix ruptured thanks to the ER doctor who sent me home. Sent to regular room after surgery and the room is very dirty and dark like a prison with tiny windows.
This is the worst hospital Ive ever been, the moment you walk in... you feel like you walked into a project building, some of the nurses are okay, but the other half are just lazy. I had one of the nurses rip the IV right out of my arm, which cause me to bleed out of control for a minute, and she pretended as if it was normal, and that was just my arm, from an IV. the doctors are very dismissive, and it didnt look like anything was going to be accomplished at least not today. i felt like I had a better chance in my house.
I had a tooth extraction. I was told during my consult that I could get the gas. It was my first extraction and I was extremely nervous the day of the procedure. When we started getting set up they told me they would not give me the gas. This resulted in me shaking and crying uncontrollably during the procedure. It was like my worst nightmare come true. It took 3 people to get the tooth out of my mouth. Pulling and yanking on my face with all their strength. I felt violated. I was only given an antibiotic and ibuprofen for the swelling. Nothing for the severe pain I am enduring in my Jaw. Mind you because my tooth was so hard to remove they had to remove extra bone from my jaw as well.I can barely open my mouth on day two. The bedside manner was poor and when your clients are that scared give them the freaking gas!! Not to mention when I left I had blood all over my cheeks that they didnt clean off. I would not recommend this facility because most oral surgeons would at least give you a small amount of low dose pain killer for the first day or two. Not make their clients suffer through mideval torture. When I called the facility two hours after my extraction about the pain I was in and my traumatic experience I spoke to a woman who was very cold an unsympathetic, like thats just how it is you have to deal with it.
This has to be one of the WORST hospital facility in Brooklyn. My boyfriend have been here since Tuesday night and today is Friday. He came in for high blood sugar levels and was admitted for a DKA. He was then told he seemed to have other issues as well so they placed an order for an XRAY/MRI on Wednesday. The XRAY and other radiology test was done and came back normal. However, we are still waiting for the MRI test. He was told by a medical Professional that’s the title that was used that he wouldn’t be discharged till Saturday with no further explanation. Later when I arrived at the hospital I asked a Podiatry PA what was the hold up. She seemed to be the only one that knew the answers. She explained that due to passover a lot of people are not in and staff is short. So pretty much he wasted 2 days waiting to get an MRI, because they are short staffed. Not only that but he may not be discharged till Monday. Why wasn’t this MRI scan done yesterday with staff. We will be going to patient relation after discharge. There is so much more that I am holding off on writing. Be careful and beware this is not the hospital you should transfer to not visit. My issues with this hospital.Communication between staff- POORCommunication between staff and patient -POORUrgency-POORCleanliness-POORStaff- DURING THE NIGHTSHIFT TOO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING
Best service I have ever received from a hospital and especially from Victoria and Winnie from Respiratory Augustana. I walked in this hospital with it being my last hope to take a rapid covid-19 test so that I could travel. Victoria helped me right away and the service was fast and easy. Once again I want to thank the NYU Langone Hospital for their great service!
The labor and delivery department of NYU Langone Hospital is one of a kind! Beginning with the triage staff all through the mother and baby unit, every nurse is so kind, calm and nice. It looks like they put in a effort in hiring staff that understand a mother’s needs at this time. The place is being renovated, new rooms are nice.
My dad was unfortunately admitted here after the ambulance/EMT lied to me saying that other hospitals were full and that they couldnt take him to a closer one. I went inside to try and find my dad and the workers at the front desk at the emergency room were extremely rude. There were multiple workers there but there was only one person helping people out and he was of no help. After given clearance to enter and try and find my dad, Im stopped because I dont have a pass and THEN Im told that Im required to have a pass to travel around. Please DO NOT take your loved ones here, they do not care about helping their patients, they are only money hungry and will make their patients take unnecessary scans over and over again.
Expect to wait 30-45 minutes past your appointment time to see your doctor. Ive seen a specialist here twice, and both times I had a looong wait. Some oddities:- people who arrive late for their appointment and after you will be seen before you.- check in staff are aggressive and clipped. They demand that you use a biometric palm scanner, and when you ask if its a requirement they get silent and dont answer.- check in staff state they are unable to follow your physicians instructions. For example, I brought back a test a doctor wanted to see, to the desk he told me to bring it to, on the date he said to bring it. The staff said they had no way of getting the doctor the test results, have no place to store such things, and refused to accept the test results. The specialty department is in desperate need of better management. The short- temper of the check in staff tells me they need more funding, better training, and a rock solid manager to both defend them and set higher expectations.
The maternal fetal medicine dept here insisted on inducing me completely unnecessarily 2 weeks early (based on paperwork, not on an exam of any kind, and against the opinion of my doctors) which lead to 50 hours of labor and a c section. They wrote on my charts that I had medical conditions I didn’t have and were surprised when I corrected them, every nurse coming in had misinformation (like they were trying to convince me I had an epidural when I didn’t) and they thought that it was ok to prevent me from eating for three days while pregnant and enduring their inductions. They told me it was imperative I have the baby right away (it wasn’t) and my doctor made them at least let me go home and get my bag. When I got back they made me wait for 3 hours in the cafe. Doesn’t sound like an emergency to me. Postpartum nurses woke me and my baby up regularly and unnecessarily at all hours for random things like weighing her (2 am), PKU test (3am) and when we asked to sleep a few hours they told us we were trying to break NY law by not getting the tests they require (we weren’t, we just needed sleep). I got 3 hours of sleep in my five day stay and left one day post op because I couldn’t stand to be there anymore. Give birth elsewhere.
Staff was nice, but lots of stars removed for the really rundown and antiquated in-patient rooms (4th floor at least). Very used beds, scratched up walls and flooring, and shared occupancy in a room no bigger than a standard NYC bedroom. If you have to stay in the NYU system, dont make this mistake and head to Tisch in Manhattan instead.
I was there in August 20 2020, that was the worst stay i ever had at any NYU LANGONE HOSPITAL. They treat me not like a human being try to give me the wrong medicine telling me it was M.S. medicine. Plus they gave me steriods n my sugar was still just giving me insluin n no slalin at all , when i refuse to take the insluin i was told if i had to go to ICU i wasnt going. When a resdient doctor tells u that its time to get the hell out of there. They r the WORST HOSPITAL I EVER BEEN TOO..
Ive heard a lot of bad things about the ER here but Im glad I didnt have one of those experience. The PA and the doctor were really attentive and caring. The nurses on the other hand can be a little forgetful and forget to get your lab report. The entire trip took around 4 hours and the wait wasnt as bad as I thought.
I have to be very honest my wife and I had the worst experiences with this hospital since they merged. They overdose my wife at least twice and tried to blame me because I was the only person that went to visit everyday and then never did an investigation that they said they would do. After that they moved her around to a nursing home in queens where her arm got infected. Then she had to go back for the same problem and now they said that not one person can visit family or friends for the duration of her stay, so when she heard that as security was removing the family my wife had a stroke. Now shes doing great at new York Presbyterian, and the care and concern is genuine there. But not at the New Lutheran its all about the money. Rich or poor homeless people we are all humans and should be treated the same. I wish everyone the best
The the front desk at the emergency room move with no urgency whatsoever and when you come there they don’t acknowledge you. you meaning me in my experience. I was taken to a room with a dirty exam bed and it took them 30 mins to change the sheets while they had me sit on a hard chair who at the time was suffering from the flu. Took an hour to get me a urine sample so I could start treatments all to be told that I could’ve just taken Robitussin and Tylenol. The people that answer the phones are beyond incomprehensible and ignorant. You’re working at the hospital to HELP people. YOU took the time out of your years to go to get the sergers and certifications needed for such a job, the only thing we owe you is information that’s it. Act like you want to work and help people or go down to McDonald’s and fill out that application.I also have means to file a lawsuit against this hospital due to a visit where a diagnosis was preventable but a doctor was lazy and racist and rude.
I have to agree with the rest of the negative reviews about their emergency room.I don’t even know where to start from... from the doctors that don’t even spend a minute with you, to the nurses that are too busy joking around amongst themselves. Let’s just say I won’t be going back there.
I would give this hospital a zero if google would allow it. The maternity accommodations are absolutely horrific. The hospital is disgusting, everything is cheap quality. Staff is nice but not the sharpest tools in the shed. Nurses are great. Would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.
Arrived ED at 2:15 AM inside a “room” more like hallway by 2:30. Finally officially in a room and hour later. It is now 4:15 AM and still waiting to be seen by a doctor. Was told at 3AM that doctor was busy with an emergency. I asked if there is only one doctor and was told yes. Really!!! One doctor to see all these patients in an overcrowded ER!! Unacceptable. NYU you need to step up. All I see around me is patients. At times no employees around. Definitely haven’t seen any doctors walking around 😠 😡Update. It is now 5:30 AM and still no doctor.
The radiologist. JENNIE CHANG was very rude, unhelpful when I was getting my scans. She rushed me to change into garments for the scan Ive scheduled.I had a bad back and cannot do quick swing-arounds with my arm. I asked for some assistance and largely ignored for my requests. never again with this place
I was admitted into ER then to the delivery ward. they treated me well. except one ignorant doctor her name is Fatima . OMG she was a nightmare that stayed with me for 12 hours. she was nervous, arrogant and horrible in treating people. However, everything else was really good. nurses, the doctor and my stay was really good
Least favorite hospital. Not only is the service here HORRIBLE, but the claimed to have put my broken bone back in place - only to later find out that they did not and it was too late. Bone had to be re-broken MONTHS later at another specialst. My father recently stood here for 7 days. The hospital is so dirty! Ever since NYU Langone took over, they made SERIOUS cuts. No one comes around with a mop or a broom. His room was disgusting and was not cleaned once! The shower was moldy - the bathroom was horrible. One star for the fact that my amazing doctor works there. But other then that this is just about as bad as Killer County.Go with your gut - and head to Methodist. Even Coney Island is better then here!
Really dislike this hospital, they really need to do better. The wait is horrible as well. I spend 5 hours waiting with stomach pain and no doctor available, come to find out the “nurse” didn’t even put my name on the list. I had to keep reminding them that I had been waiting since 8: 30 am, just horrible experience.
One of my family members is dealing with a chronic health issue, so we have been in and out of many hospitals in Brooklyn over the past few months. I can say without a doubt that this is the worst hospital in Brooklyn, and possibly the worst hospital in all of New York. Literally go anywhere else, even Coney Island Hospital will treat you with more respect. The doctors here care more about avoiding lawsuits than they do about treating people. They will blame you for any failures in their own treatment under the pretense of avoiding legal blame. Facilities are mediocre, and communication between teams treating you is completely nonexistent. We had to repeat details about past treatment (medicine regimen) several times a day, every single day of my relatives stay there.I am not sure if this is because they are incompetent or because of a lack of trust. But this is endemic to how they treat people in this hospital - no trust, no respect, and often, with outright hostility. And unrelated to the atrocious staff at this hospital, most of the hospital resides in a cellphone deadzone. Want to call your sick relatives at the ICU? Good luck with that.
I unfortunately have had to find myself in the emergency room for numerous reasons regarding my aging parents. Each and every time it’s been the same obnoxious and useless guard who spends most of the time gossiping and chatting with staff members very loudly, taking no consideration of the ill that come in and wait in the waiting area....her loudness and brazen attitude is exactly what’s not needed in that kind of environment. Horrible.
Since it is managed by NYU, I can honestly say that my elderly father was well taken care of in the ER. He was also well taken care of in a regular room. My only two complaints is that the night cleaning staff is not up to par and I did not like that they wanted to give my father more tests than needed .
Worst hospital I have ever been in. The staff is incredibly rude. The doctors are inattentive. Many tests were done without my knowledge, nothing was explained to me and then the doctor prescribed 8 oral antibiotics for me at once when the reason for my visit was digestive problems. I have been to NYU Langone and the level of service is infinitely better. Im surprised NYU associates with such a terrible hospital.
If you value your life and health try your best to avoid this so called hospital. They will neglect you and make your family miserable till you die. That is what happened to my father in law and my wife’s family and now happening to my father and our family all over again.
I thought BROOKLYN hospital was the worst hospital in Brooklyn, but nope, NYU LAGONE BROOKLYN came along and it takes the cake! They’ll lay you in the emergency room beds for 7+ hours, get aggravated when you ask for assistance/answer questions, and you barely interact with the doctors on your case. Then they’ll get you a room to stay overnight, only for it to have filthy bathrooms and for your nurses to pop in....but again, no answers to any questions.THEN it’ll take them 4 hours to discharge you because they’re doing rounds, but discharge time is at 11am but you’re still there at 3pm—so now I guess I understand why we waited 7+ hours for a bed.Edit: we are STILL HERE. Nurse was supposed to take out the IV almost two hours ago. We’re .20 secs from taking it out ourselves. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HOSPITAL.
It’s an old and run down facility. Desecent doctors but HORRIBLE staff. Instead of caring for the patient, the staff excels at chit chatting with one another and FaceTiming family members!!! You have to ask over and over again for the same thing which turns into hours worth. Their responses are “ok, one minute” but NEVER come back. There are lots of lackadaisical attitudes and don’t even think about asking any type of questions! They may actually have to do their job!!! Most nurses were uninformed while taking care of you. LOOK AT THE CHART get info before entering and tending to the patient. Have any questions about your specific surgery or condition?! Well here’s their answer “I don’t know”. Nice, right!? If you dont stay on top of the nurses it’s like entering at your own risk. I will say we did have one amazing, caring, hardworking nurse in the anesthesia recovery room...Chita C.!!! Also, the surgery room doctors made you feel at ease and who seem to take pride in what they do. Unfournately, the compliments stop there. Can’t believe this place operates the way it does with a name like NYU attached to it.
These people are a set of con artists since October I have been trying to get refund on a procedure that wasnt done and every time I call they telling me to wait 2 more weeks or they would forward it to high ups to get me my refund every single time i call its something else. Its like their hoping that I forget or drag it on where I cant do nothing about it. I have never heard of a refund taking 3 months now I have to dispute the charge with my bank and I got all the messages and call. Never again
I was taken to Lutheran Hospitals Emergency Room Center after being mugged by a town car taxi driver. The staff was highly insensitive to the situation; not to mention that the lady with the Kool Aid bright red hair walked me to get a CAT scan and straight out implied that i tried to run from the taxi that was why my face was lacerated. I stopped dead in my tracks stared at her and instead of being upset i felt extremely sorry for that kool-aid cheap weave wearing Nurse, clearly she was educated and trained to be a nurse but she lacked empathy and as i perceived was jaded to the individuals seeking medical attention at said facility. In my humble opinion my overall experience was horrible i have never been to a worse hospital in NYC, this hospital should really be more attentive to the way their customer service is being exercised if it plans to survive the many closures of Brooklyn Hospitals. On a plus note however, the Cat Scan Technician with the glasses was really kind and was the only individual that offered me a blanket the entire 5 hours i was there.
Went to the emergency room and they took me in right away. When I shared that I was uninsured they pointed out their clinic and made sure that my emergency room visit was covered so I wouldnt have to worry. Very helpful and knowledgable and I felt very much taken care of by the staff.
My visit to this hospital has been nothing but exceptional. From the time I was seen at the ER to my admission, and then to surgery the service and expertise offered has been of the best. Dr Salame and his team of clinicians and nurses are by far some of best people Ive ever encountered, specifically in the way they delivered medical care. Nurse Kathryn,Philip,Niyma, Hurd along with assistants,Briget, Winifred,Gemma,Collins, your compassion and care made my stay there comfortable. I cannot say enough about Dr Salame, his professionalism, bedside manners and the way in which he calms his patients are incomparable. The anesthesia and OR team,A plus.Thank you Dr for restoring humanity to medicine. You are a great treasure to NYU. A grateful patient.Bernadette Mootoosammy.
ER for kids is worst pkace to bring kids. My son fell at home and get a cut on right side of forehead. We brought him to ER around 645PM. They made us wait till 1030 to close his wound with 4 stiches. On PA & Nurse did work, No doctor even came to see him & they send my insuramce $5800 bill. This hospital just robbing people....
I am a family member of Donna Earl. I just want to say this hospital from the trauma team on the fourth floor and rehab team on the 3rd team saved my sisters life and continued to fight for her to regain her ability to live a normal life. God bless the Doctors, nurses, therapist and the staff
Dirty. By far the worst hospital I’ve ever been in. Compared to the NYU Langone hospital in NYC, this Brooklyn NYU hospital was absolute filth. Blood on the walls on the ER. Trash all I’ve the floors. Doctors who can’t get their prognosis straight. And nurses who ignore you. You’re better off taking the extra time to travel to the city and admitting yourself there.
Im an 1 and a half commute from the hospital they called in a RX on discharge. (Sunday). The next morning went to my local pharmacy to get filled and they dont have it in liquid. I dont need it in liquid but they cant change with out DR approval. They call the doc. They are on hold an hour and a half. They are told the dr is making rounds and will be with them soon. I finally give up and make the 1.5 hr commute to the hospital to get this fixed. Turns out the dr is not even in today and no one bothered to check this. I talked to 3 nurses and they were trying to get a doc on call to fix it. 44 min later the doc talks to me and turns out the original RX was WRONG! Is I could give a zero for customer service I would. I have never been in such a poor medical facility from a process/service perspective including hospitals outside the US.
This review is only for the cafeteria. The cafeteria is open only on weekdays. There is a coffee shop on the second floor that is pretty whatever but the cafeteria on the first floor serves some of the best food Ive ever had. The burger station, the sandwich station, even the pizza station. I havent visited the salad station yet. I wish the pizza station served calzones more often, those are so good. The burgers and sandwiches are mouth-watering good. I am a huge fan of the pulled pork sandwich and the cheese bacon burger. You can get the daily special with a side of sweet potato fries, chips, or salad. The chips and fries are okay but the salad is full of so much flavor. I love the food.
Most of the reviews on Lutheran are negative, much of it is about the ER. You would think the hospital would care enough about their image and revamp the staff to behave in a professional, empathetic manner befitting healthcare providers. This hospital has been overwhelmed since Victory shut down. A loss that I still cannot get over.
First I would like to say Dr Walsh is a great hip surgeon and he deserves 5 stars6 nurses 2 were great and 4 were horrible. But none of them distribute your meds on time. Timing of meds is important, when came off anesthesia, the nurse waited way to long and I was having 10 pain for an hour. After a defacating accident by a patient in my room took them 4 hours before they cleaned. There is a nurse here named Selena. She is pretty poison. She screwed up the whole nurses station because she was so slow. Over an hour late with meds, and you could see how stressed she is and I heard her talking aboutMe to her Filipina nurse friends. Then they started gossiping. Unfortunately I understand words in Tagalog. This is without a doubt the worst food I have ever had. Just disgusting. Everything always cold. How do you mess up chicken fingers? In chewable.Previously I have had so many problems with scheduling, doctors leaving. 3 months for an ear nose and throat appt after my doctor left langone.Management has no pride, only bottom line and try to rush you out fast with as few meds as possible.I asked to see patient relations, never came. Only interested in covering their asses. Outpatient surgery ok. If you have to stay select somewhere else.
Had to go to for a bariatric surgery. The surgeons were very friendly and nurses at the ICU were great. Later on, I was admitted to a regular room and it was the worst experience. Room was very cramped and hot, there was blood on the pillow, nurses were very slow, WiFi was terrible, and TV had to be paid for.
The irony of being at the hospital and actually being able to make a comment. I went to another hospital closer to me when I had a flare up of a condition I have. Usually takes about 3 days stay. So I had to get transferred to Lutheran.Thats where it all went wrong. Nurses and doctors were shady and not answering ANY of my questions. Not telling me what medicines id be given. I asked them to test me for HIV, as a just in case and they would not even tell me if and when i would get tested. Okay. After the doctor stated that I could leave saturday, i was happy.Until today. The doctors were not here. No one would help me. I noe my mom could shower because theres no hot water. I suffer from ptsd and anxiety and they know this. I began having nightmares waking up screaming. They admitted (a nurse) that they may have given me too much medication. What the fuc? I was left in dirty sheets so I lost it.I locked myself in the bathroom and had a panic attack until several nurses came in. I am not playing this game with thia terrible hospital.
This is a horrible place. My father was in the emergency room for more then 24 hours before they decided to move him upstairs. They did it while he was sleeping and when he woke up he got upset with them and they had the nerve to complain. Also, it is impossible to reach the nurse and any of the doctors. They make a decision on your behalf so they can charge insurance. HORRIBLE!!!!!!
UPDATE: I started going to Columbia University and they have a sense of humanity and a lovely competent staff. A wonderful nurse who I chatted with about medicine (were both med students) also recommended Weill Cornell.I used to praise NYU for being the best. For the past two years, they have gone to the dumps. esp. this recent handing out Doctors their name like candy. I used to go because they were very specific about who they would allow under their umbrella, and rightfully so.I have gone to 2 PCPs for a pain I have had for 4 months that I ignored because I was going to medical school myself. Not once was I offered antibiotics, which, is already questionable. So far, I found an amazing old school OB/GYN on ZocDoc who checked my ovaries and egg count without even asking! I asked an OB/GYN at NYU to check since I am 35 and around the age where risk gets higher to have kids -- her arrogant attitude + refusal to do so = ciao babyThere is one good OB/GYN at NYU that I started to go to years ago (before this mess happened at NYU) but he barely has availability.I am unclear if there is too much fear of lawsuits at NYU facilities that I cannot get anything as simple as an antibiotic. So, I will stick with old-fashioned doctors to avoid some scenarios, where, as I learned in medical school - that an individual could die or undergo severe injury if antibiotics are not administered based on symptoms before the lab results come in. I have Bells Palsy and had a few recurrences so I am not taking that risk. Lab results are a handicap to this facility, do doctors at this facility know how to diagnose an individual by mere symptoms at NYU Langone? I already knew all I needed were antibiotics so Im not sure what is going on with this organization (or disorganization for that matter) but Im not going to have a severe problem based on whatever the heck is going on lately. I am leaving NYU and searching for more independent, perhaps a bit run down facility but full of heart, something NYU has lost.
Terrible er i came twice for trouble breathing they didnt gave me nebulizer until 2 hours later not even the ambulance didnt gave me any oxygen and diff. ppl asking the same questions plus at the end i told them i need nebulizer medicine they didnt want give me any and i told them that is what is helping me and i told them i need the machine they gave me nebulizer med but not the machine i felt i was in 3rd world country plus the guards act its north korea not even to head to the bathroom i was bring asked where i am going what is this school i need a pass slip and the food court i feel very odd that everyone is mexican working there not one american i saw working there i am pretty sure some or all are illegal and for the gift shop they watch you like a dog without blinking like if you got no money and you going to steal and they sell balloons but you cant take them up due to hospital rules the store should have a sign up before buying them and the hospital should tell them to put a sign and let ppl know they hold your balloons like as hostage i have seen them by the elevator for months the same ones until the air goes out and for the patient rooms i dont think they mop or disinfect the chairs and door knobs ect because i tested it with the wipes and it was dirty i had to ask a cleaner to mop the floor because it smells like urine and he told me to let him know anything i get it done right away its like saying let him know so not anyone else know cause i dont want others to know i dont clean terrible place
Avoid at all costs. ER was run as incompetently as I can imagine. No oversight of staff, experience of a ER nurse taking a blood sample and throwing bloody needle on floor where it stayed for the remainder of our unnecessarily long 18 hour stay. They definitely run those clocks so you can charge the insurance more
Welcome to NYU Langone ! We are located in the heart of an industrial shipyard, where the sun doesnt shine, and give our patients the least attention/ care possible. We barely see our patients once a week unless a complaint is made, and send uneducated nurses in the room to feed them and shove pills down their throats.Did you know we have security guards who make medical suggestions? Mental health issues? Drug abuse? Physical pain? ALL THE SAME! We believe in a one pill fix all system, and will be completely disappointed if you dont agree with us. Come visit us in Brooklyn and you will love (have) to come here again. We cant wait to see you so we can get paid!!!
My mom was rushed there with congestive heart failure straight from her doctors office. She was assigned Dr. Leon Rosenkranz who has to be one of the most egocentric people Ive ever had the misfortune to meet. My mom had a cardiologist whom she did not wish to see again thanks to his ordering a stress test for her at age 87 that nearly killed her just because hed purchased a used MRI machine for his office and wanted to jack up his fee. Unfortunately he was affiliated with Lutheran and good ol Rosenkranz immediately called him in on her case. She refused to see him and asked for another cardiologist. Rosenkranz had the gall to argue with her right there in the ER, calling her a foolish old lady. He raised his voice so much that other ER docs had to tell him to cool it, that mom was within her rights to ask for someone else if that was her decision. We waited two days for a bed under those conditions and it was a nightmare. But the worst was yet to come. Six months later, mom stopped breathing early one morning back at home. I checked on her when I woke up and went to the kitchen to start on breakfast. When Id got back to her room just a few minutes later, I found her soaked with sweat, face black, eyes red and half-opened, not breathing and no pulse. After calling 911 and performing CPR as instructed, I managed to revive mom and took her to Lutheran again.Same doctor, brand new nurse that Id never met before and the experience was even worse than before. Mom had some minor personality changes due to her ordeal. She was a bit aggressive, fought with me to try and get up from the bed when she couldnt due to being a fall risk. I called for help. No one came. She talked out loud in her sleep, full conversations, something shed never done before. At times shed be confused about who I was and where she was. I needed to speak with a nurse/doctor/someone. But when I called, she wouldnt come. I ran the halls to try and track her down but when I did, she said she hadnt eaten all day and this was her break. I begged her to speak with me and she just shut the door in my face. Her doctor, the infamous Rosenkranz, was equally obnoxious in that the following day when he visited my mom in her room, he snatched some papers she had been reading (the Patients Rights guide) and threw them down on the bed. What are you reading that for? Youre the one who knows her rights well enough without them, arent you?NEVER AGAIN! Any other time Ive had to take my mom to the hospital Ive always flat out said NOT LUTHERAN!
DISAPPOINTED AND DIGUSTED! I was here for 7 hours, sent from adult care where the nurse said we don’t check knee pain to emergency room where the doctor was clueless as to why I was there!!!! Then, had to pay an uber to go to their different location where they said my primary care doctor was & come to find out next appointment to get checked is FRIDAY. THREE WEEKS AND NO ONE HAS CHECKED MY KNEE INJURY UNTIL TODAY WHERE I STILL COULDN’T GET AN XRAY OR MRI BECAUSE THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATE IS 3 WEEKS FROM NOW. THEY MILK YOUR INSURANCE TO ONLY GET MONEY MONEY MONEY!!! DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING BECAUSE THEN YOU’LL BE LIKE ME-FINDING WHAT YOU HAVE 6 WEEKS LATER.
I was in emergency for a baby the the doctor is good but I think it American system not so good! I was in other hospital in maimodes same story !I think emergency has to be quick if I have to wait more than 2 hour it will be no more emergency )In other country if something happenes they will take care of you right a way and they dont make much money as here and in America they make more money and they take there time
The nurse who did the exray for my child today was so bad when i asked her some questios because my girl is diabetic . she said are u a doctor? she gave me attitude i hope i will never met her in this hospital but am not saying that all of the nurses are bad. but like that person ive never met before. she must learn how to behave with parents who ask for s thing .thats her job
Very outdated dirty rooms. I had to request to see a surgeon for 7 hours continuously after surgery, and I was initially discharged without any paperwork or instructions. On top of that, Im unable to schedule an appt with my surgeon for a follow-up. Please save yourself the headache and avoid this hospital at all costs.
Glad to share my experience with you...it is a TERRIBLE HOSPITAL...My mom has been going for years and the administration sucks, you have to wait for months literally to get an appointment, some doctors litterally play with the patients health and are all about milking the insurance, spreading the visits unnecessarily, they dont take the time to explain carefully so the patient understand instructions,...I am surprised that people still go there having other options. Yes it is close but come on...with all the resources they have it should be a more pleasant experience. The staff act like whatever, take it or leave it...my advise..LEAVE THIS HOSPITAL, MAYBE THEN THEY WILL GET THE MESSAGE AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Giving a one star that they dont deserve. They deserve a big fat 0. Arrived at the hospital on Saturday cause of abdominal pain from which I suffer from gastritis, IBS and acid reflux. The morons in the ER took it upon themselves to make a diagnosis and say I need a colostomy bag and reconstruction of my stomach. I was admitted and found out I have a inflammation of the colon but still insisting I need surgery and no food or water to be given to me. My white blood cell is high and thats why they say NPO and their diagnosis is colitis. . Im definitely contacting a legal assistance for neglect and refusal of food and water, pumping me with Antibiotics. The only thing I told the Dr is that the dietician could come up with a food plan for my stomach issues & was given the reply dieticians are not considered medical staff. Will be leaving this disgusting and horrifying hospital on my own accord just waiting for more tests results and to get copies of everything and all their names. STAY AWAY From This Hospital!!!!!
Today was my very very bad day what I have had in my life, in this morning I was running on the Shore parkway boardwalk close to the Verrazano bridge, what I usually do every Sunday, but today was exception day, the one guy hit me on the bike, I dont know how this supposed to be happened but he drove bike very fast I could feel with my back I just fell forward and flipped over, I had terrible pains from the neck till legs, especially my back, I just was laying couldnt understand what is happening those time, then I asked the man call a ambulance, they came took care of me till we arrived NYU langone health hospital in the Brooklyn, when we came there they put me some of the rooms where I was waiting half one hour , after that the doctor came to me asked me few questions I told him everything what I felt that moment I said I have still pain on my neck, back, leg and also open cut on my hand was bloody, he began to touch me very strongly and tough even my open cut hand, I said to him please be careful I have a pain, then he stopped, but its ok!!! He does he is job, but unprofessional.... like a he dont figure out what is happening with me, then they sent me to Xray to take a pictures all my injuries, there is was nice lady she was very kindly and respectful with me , after that when she was done, they are leaved me at a corridor were was very cold because the air conditioner was above of me, I asked the nurse give it to me a blanket, I lay the for an hour, then they moved me to the room when I was in first time, after that the doctor came to me and he said wait me 30 min I need to get a results then Ill come back, which is ok, but then he came to me and said youre ok good to go!!! I thought excellent, but what about my open cut, I asked him will someone wrap my hand and knees, hes said ok, he just wrapped my hand and said you can go, he didnt make any disinfection and cleaning from the bacterias from my hand and leaved me like that, thats was weird. I think its unprofessional either he didnt want to take care of me. I dont know... I just wanted leave from there and go home. I just arrived my home thats another story because I left all my money and wallet at home, because I went for a running in this morning. This is notice for other patients who is wants to go there be aware and pay attention who cares of you and ask them any questions what they gonna do or not! I was first time there I guess its bad experience I guess Ill never come back again to there. Thanks God for saving me! Ill take care of me by myself! Here is a pictures for the argument!
It ran the gamut of from bad to worse. I had a stroke and Dr. Azar is the one who heads neurology. He treated me. He is adept at what he knows but his ego requires that he meddle in all specialties of which he knows nothing and prevent his betters from doing their job. Meanwhile you keep deteriorating. The hospital itself is an awful place to get stuck in unless youre a criminal and are happy to get out of prison for awhile. The nurses dont come at all when summoned. Stay out of there.
The most horrible Hospital/Medical Center. My father was hit by a car and was brought to the ER of Lutheran Medical Center, mind you, level 1 trauma center. He came in at 7:30 am and was seen by a physician only 2 hours after arrival and sent for diagnostic studies. No one provided him with translator, as he does not speak English; however he was given some paperwork to sign. At 11 he was given pain meds. it turned out that he sustained a fracture. At 4 PM trauma team showed up, in a form of a 6 feet pregnant woman, she did not even have a stethoscope on her, I am not even talking about a flashlight or a reflex hammer. This is level one trauma center? More than 8 hours passed since the injury before being evaluated by trauma team? He was admitted to the hospital and spent 2 days in some corridor of ER waiting for a bed. The situation on the floor is the same, the nursing staff continues to be rude and lazy, I have yet to see a physician, I can speak only to PAs. Nurses see the patient only for administration of meds; otherwise hours can pass after ringing the nurse. Still no translators, every time the staff comes into the room and starts talking to him English, disregarding his pleas for a translator. Even in person you cannot get any information about the treatment plan or anything from anyone at the hospital. When you call, prepare to be on hold for hours and still not getting through.HORRIBLE PLACE!
The laziest hospital, my child was born their and we were suppose to travel after a month I went to the birth certificate office in manhattan they told me the hospital didn’t even process it , it usually takes a week to process birth certificates , I called the hospital they told me 4-6 weeks to process what in the world you people doing over there ??????
Both my parents were taken in for a stroke at different times. Im comparing to other hospitals (NYU, Columbia) and no comparison. LMC did not handle any of their strokes in an appropriate manner. Do not go to LMC for a stroke. Go somewhere else. The stroke center needs tremendous improvement. Very disappointed.
Never never will I ever come here again I wouldLiterally rather have a stranger take care of me that be taken care of by these so call “professionals” let’s say this doctor Somona Pathak, MD Was the worst most condescending and rude person ever. What this hospital needs is training on customer service !!!
My mother was in hospital with bad neck pain but the didn’t do MRI. They say she need to go to her doctor and she will give her prescription for MRI. And they let my mother go home with pain. My mother didn’t sleep all night because pain and she still have pain. They say it’s mussel but it not mussel, it’s her neck. Pain going from neck to the back and hands.
This hospital has one of the best trauma units in NYC. My brother got hit by a motorcycle and suffered severe brain trauma. They took quick care of my brother and he survived. Yes, he suffered all the effects associated with brain trauma but I am glad to say that he is back to normal and still progressing. Thank God for the doctors that worked on my brother. I give Lutheran Medical Center two-thumbs up when it comes to this unit. This is the only experience Ive had with this hospital.
If I could give this hospital a 0 star rating I would. I went here 3 times for breathing problems and they gave me no medicine. I went here the 3rd time for vomiting, liquid diarrhea and breathing problems and they gave me nothing. I would have rather traveled to Manhattan to get better care.
They are really slow! I had to spent 5 hours waiting, with 2 children and my wife. After 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting I tried to talk to someone that could help, he said he would, but he didnt. I continued waiting and waiting. Every procedure takes more and more time. I hope I never have to come back.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND LUTHERAN MEDICAL DENTAL CLINIC. If you want your teeth, do not want to go crazy trying to get anything accomplished and care anything about your quality of life, DO NOT GO THERE. My experience was beyond horrible. Right out of the movie SAW, or if you could imagine be a patient for Dr. Mengele in the Holocaust. Dr. Elmaria tortured me and I have had an untreated infection for over 3 months, Not one administrative person will help me. Dr. Elmaria raised my quoted price by $5000 a year into my treatment plan and never informed me. When I found out, she got mad and retaliated against me. I have paid over $10,000 and am left with implants that need to be removed, infections and nightmares. They insist there are no other dentists who can assist me.Read the other reviews. There is a reason they are all negative. This institute needs to be taken over by compassionate people who know how to have a bit of humanity and bed side manners as well.SHAME ONE YOU LUTHERAN MEDICAL DENTAL CLINIC
It was somewhat ok. Web said under 16 needs adult supervision can visit and I AM over 16. Those at the front in the ER let me in then this dumb officer comes and be like “Oh you need to be 17” like ok I am short for my age but three people said I can go in, the web also said that yet you be like no 16 is too young and kicked me out. Give me a break dude. 🙄🙄
Do not come here!!! I warn you, they torture you! I went in as an emergency knowing I had to get a tooth extracted. What I didnt know was that I wouldnt be able to get general anthestic until half way through... she already started yanking on my tooth! On top of that, she gave me novacine and didnt even bother giving it a few minutes to kick in. Therefore I felt everything she was doing to me. She pretty much tortured me. Kept telling me its gonna be okay! I couldnt handle it and started to cry and shake. By that didnt stop her. She was rude, she said I need to stop shaking and rushing her. Yet I felt like she was in a rush to get rid of me. I even told her to stop because I cant do it anymore, I was starting to get an anxiety! Then she said she cant let me go when she already has already started. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE!
I came in for dizzy spells and while the triage nurse took my blood pressure she b*tched to a co-worker about people coming in who arent emergency cases. The doctor who examines me says I need to see a neurologist and plunks me in the waiting room for an hour. The word stroke was never uttered. I figure if something is really wrong, nurses wouldnt be b*tching about non-emergency cases and doctors wouldnt be leaving me to twiddle my thumbs for an hour, so I left. When I got home I spoke with a nurse from my insurance company who completely panicked and told me to go right back, that I may have been having a stroke. When I called the hospital to discuss this, every extension I dialed either rang off the hook with nobody answering or was answered by a gruff person who told me to call back later.Im going to see my regular doctor on Monday. If I stroke out between now and then, its still better than going back to this quack factory.

2022-02-02Had my son on Monday there. It was one of the best experiences Ive had in a hospital. my daughter was born 4 years ago in Lutheran and it was a different feeling and vibe . Everyone was nice and joking . The nurses gave anything we needed and the TV is free. The rooms were upgraded as well. I was impressed how they truly wanted to make us feel at home. Thank you to all the nurses. And to the head nurse in charge who gave us heartwarming advice on how to deal with my daughters emotions with a new baby. We are extremely grateful thank you

2022-02-24My mother was in the 5600 section. I spoke with the attendants and the nurses day-and-night.Almost every single one of them that I spoke with was wonderful.Including the attendance at the desk. They truly cared about my mother who was 88 years old and in very bad shape. The attendants at the desk were so caring and the nurses were so sweet. It made a very difficult time in my life to know that my mother was in a hospital 1200 miles away without me being able to see her or know what is going on to have peace of mind because of the way they acted. That includes doctor Chang and doctor Agar. My mothers personal doctor did not respond it was a woman so I have nothing to say about her.I pray that God would bless all those wonderful people that I dealt with in a very, very great way. For they were such a blessing to me.

2022-03-22I brought my mother for a doctors appointment. The doctor and nurses were all great. However the receptionist at Station 14 named Laura was very rude and treated me and my mother very disrespectful. Laura is a terrible representation of NYU. I probably will not come back if I have to deal with her. After our appointment we had to request a follow-up appointment. My mother and I waited at the desk as we were told. Laura was on the phone and sounded like she was arranging an appointment for another patient. She was giving them options on available dates. Once she got off the phone she told us to step back for social distance. Understanding, we moved back and we dismissed that someone a few minutes before us was at her desk and she didnt tell them to move back. Then we tell her we need an appointment. She goes on her computer and prints out a paper and hands it to us. She never asked us if the date works for us or any time options. I asked her if another time is available. She said no. I said what other day is available. She then started to speak over me to the person standing behind us in line. We were being treated different and I hope it wasnt because the color of our skin. Disappointed NYU has employees like this. If she doesnt have hospitality or respect for the patients, she should not work there.

2022-05-12I gave birth here a year ago. I had an amazing experience! I still remember a nurse name Kim who was there their for me when I was induced. She was such an amazing nurse. I also had an amazing night nurse after my correction. I dont remember her name but she was so sweet and gentle with my baby. She didnt make him cry when she had to check on him. If I was to get pregnant again I would low to go back. Even after I was discharged they would call to check in and someone who works with WIC in the hospital helped get thins going for us as well. I highly recommend expecting mothers to go there.

2022-04-07My daughter had a difficult pregnancy but the staff at NYU LANGONE were extremely, attentive, helpful, polite and explained everything that was going on with her and the baby. As well as what they were going to do for her and the baby . They explained all of the procedures that they were going to do for her and the baby. And they explained all of the medicines that they were going to give her. They even explained all of her options on giving birth. They made sure that my daughter and her baby were comfortable and safe at all times. I am truly appreciative and impressed with the care my daughter and granddaughter received.

2022-02-20What a shame that the NYU brand can be affiliated to this hospital. No comparison between Tisch Langone and Lutheran. The patient care at Brooklyn is less than mediocre. Rooms are not cleaned, linens are not changed, medication left for patient to take on their own when the nurse should be observing it’s ingestion. The wait line for my visitor pass was 30min with 8 people in line before me and I watched 2 people chatting at a computer not checking anyone in while another tried to help the line. Not happy. Hopefully the Langone facility expected to open in cobble hill will be better. Employee moral obviously low here.

2022-06-29Horrible service at the dental office. So, I was asked to check in on the kiosk machine. The machine was giving me an error on the insurance page and asked me to check at the desk. Ok fine. The next time that I had a appointment for dental, I went to the desk and told the receptionist that the last time that I checked in, the machine gave me an error. She told me that I still had to check in. So, why do I have to check in twice when I can just wait on the line and check in one time at the desk. Doesnt make any sense. If the machine didnt give me an error then I would be happy to use it but if its giving an error, then why would I waste my time using the kiosk? First, fix the glitch then tell patients to check in.

2022-02-15The worst experience for me in this hospital, as they do not respond and do not consider my requests, especially the woman who registers for a birth certificate. She tells me that it takes two months to obtain a birth certificate, and this is unreasonable because all hospitals in New York do not take more than a week, and I told her that I urgently need to hurry. She told me that she Not interested in helping and that they told me before birth and this is not true as no one told me about this, In addition, an email was sent and a message was sent on Twitter, but I did not get an answer, and this is characterized by improper management. I think they treat me very racist, I will not return to this hospital in the future as long as I live

2022-05-04Got gallbladder surgery at this hospital, The Nurses are great and the emergency dept gets you right in a bed right away. The doctors are very rude and unorganized, never on the same page and take forever to respond to anything but the overall care and the nurses at this hosiptal you wont find at any other near by hospitals
