Waited 45 minutes for a table. The air conditioner was broken. Hot as hell. waited 30 minutes to place or order. The food was very good. But the wait and the heat was not worth it. Oh side bar,long island ice tea way too sweet. think they forgot the alcohol
Great place to gather, good food for every type of diner.
Great place. I tried another restaurant in the area and was given a 2 plus hour wait. So, I went to O P Fredericks and was able to sit at the bar immediately. (The dining room did have a wait, but I see why.) Great atmosphere; wonderful, friendly staff (and locals); and the food was great. I had the Portabello Sandwich, which can be boring, but this one wasnt - it was delicious. The pineapple in the cole slaw threw me for a curve, but was quite pleasant. I will be back again.
We arrived, a menu, and ordered a bottled beer. A server placed the beer on the bar and left; only two others were seated at the bar. While reviewing the menu, we looked up to see the beer overflowing onto the counter. No staff took notice. We mentioned this to the bartender who wiped the counter and replaced the bottle - with the expectation we now drink (and pay for) this now half empty beer. No thanks, we left and found dinner elsewhere! This is not a covid problem, this is simply unquestionably poor service.
We dined here Sat 8/14/21 5:35pm. We had a 10 minute wait until our table was ready on a busy evening at the popular O.P. Fredericks. An American ADK restaurant and tavern located at the intersection of NYS Rt 9 & 8 on Loon Lake. Nice bar area that opens to a small lakeview deck. Dark wood, comfortable dining room. Formerly a German-style restaurant.We came here from Schroon Lake. We ordered drinks from our waitress Soula - wine ($6) & 2 draft beers ($3.50 ea). Order took 25 minutes to table - more than acceptable on a busy Sat evening.BJ had French onion soup ($6.50) & buffalo chicken salad ($17 dinner size-huge), Liz had the special - sole w/ crab & scallops over rice (($26) - delicious & a generous portion). I had the New Orleans style chicken pasta ($20) - huge portion, too big to finish, pretty good but I needed to add some BAM via some Tabasco sauce that I always carry w/ me.Open for dinner only wed-Sun 4-9pmService & food were very good. Pour was a little light. Wait was a little long. Onion rings a little burned. Baked potato ran out. Prime rib well seasoned and cooked but not finished medium rare. Jambalaya authentic. Potato chips crispy. Waitress with faint accent fond of personal remarks. Cozy.
Very limited choices, the chicken fettuccine was great as well as the pulled pork, the steak wasnt very good and the haddock was okay. The chicken quesadilla was very good and the duck burritos are very tasty but have a very small amount of duck in it, it was filled with rice instead. For the price it could have been a lot better.
Very nice place in the Adirondack mountains not far from Gore mountain. Home cooked food feel with great selection and excellent prices. The rolls are also fresh and cooked perfectly. Loved it.
OP Fredericks is recommended to us by a friend so we decided to give it a try. The first thing that we noticed going in was it had a real old fashioned lake feel, which brings back a lot of memories from my childhood. The service was good, the servers were friendly and attentibe. My wife ordered the maple glazed salmon which she loved. It was a nice piece of salmon with a good sauce. I got the breaded haddock and it was excellent. They advertised it as beer pattern and sometimes they batter it too much but this was perfect. It was a good size pizza fish and very tasty. Our only complaint was at the rolls that they served were small and nothing special. But overall It was an excellent meal.

Pleasantly surprised! They had a great variety on their menu, without it being overwhelmingly large. They were unexpectedly busy with a large party, & they handled it all wonderfully. The bartender served our table of 6 (Im sorry that I didnt get her name) & she was on point. Even with the large party ahead of us (of about 20 or more ladies) our food came out quickly, hot, & delicious. We all loved our meals & had a great time. Highly recommend!!!
Waited 1.5 hrs for table. One person in party never received food until 6 others had eaten. Usually this is a favorite rest. but obviously because of sta ffing.. service was terrible!!
Service was fantastic! They happily accommodated our party of 15 at the last minute. Food was enjoyable and the owner and staff were amazing!
The horse radish steak was ok but the horse radish was missing and when they did bring it I almost choked because it was dry flakes of something that had no flavor. We waited an extremely long time for drinks and dinner. Will not go back again. Very disappointed as we are local and would like a restaurant to visit on a weekly basis.
Great staff. May want to ask for low sodium. There rice and sides were salty. Local Cider at bar a definite good pour.

Way overpriced as far as Im concerned and the food wasnt great. I couldnt even afford most of the items on the menu so I had to settle for a starter, which was not enough to satisfy.
I enjoyed my chicken dish but liked companions stuffed pork loin and mashed potstoes even more. Everyone was walking the covid safety line. The baked brie was disappointing, only because they served it with what appeared to be grilled hamburger bun. Crostini would of.course be better. Service was great.
I eat here every week or so and everything is delicious with beautiful presentation. Never a bad meal. I love it.

Great food! Server wasnt very pleasant. We were her last table on a busy night and she seemed annoyed to be waiting on us. When we got there the hostess said the wait was gonna be a few minutes...we waited between 30-40. Appetizers came out quickly but food took a while. Seemed like she forgot to give our order to the kitchen.
Had the Maple glazed Salmon and the smoked trout appetizer. Both were EXCELLENT! !!!!! Service was very good also.
This place was great! My family and I were driving all day and just happened upon this place, and Im so glad we did! Firstly, its the cutest, homiest restaurant Ive been to in a while. Secondly, the staff was so friendly and helpful, was able to give all sorts of advice about where to rest at. Finally, but not leastly, the food is GREAT! And they give you lots of it too

We love the atmosphere at OP. Especially in the winter its very cozy and a lot of people go after snowmobiling. There are never any complaints from the kids about food. The food is hearty and weve never had any complaints either. The staff is also good everytime, very attentive, it can get swamped and then it slows down but everyone works hard.
I had dinner there last night and my appetizer was still slightly frozen in the middle. My dinner was just ok. My drink was great. I can give it only one star. Other restaurants I have been to in the area were much better.

This place is more known for its bar than the quality of its meals. Typically entrees have too much sauce or cheese topping drowning the flavors of the base meat. French fries are made with heavily used oil so the color is darker than usual and they dont taste fresh. Order carefully not to be disappointed.
As always the food is amazing at OP Fredericks... love the Chipolte Cheese Tortellini... and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Mmmmm
Excellent food. Had the prime rib and was delicious. Many choices on the menu. Wanted to try the Jambalaya or the Cajun pasta, will have to go back.
Our experience was terrible tonite, my husband ordered a burger with onion rings, the waitress said regular or sweet potato fries, he said I asked for onion rings...oh sorry. I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp ( do not eat meat of any kind) my salad arrived with grilled chicken, it was swept away when I said this is not what I ordered and was brought back with 3 grilled shrimp, could not eat it knowing there was chicken on it previously, asked about an extra 1.00 charge on the bill... oh that was the difference between the chicken and the shrimp, are you kidding me! No apologies! Just do you want another drink! The young girl seating people was doing her back stretches in plain view of guests. Will never ever return and expressed this to the owners of the Inn we were visiting. Have had some great food in Chestertown this week. This place was a huge disappointment
My absolute favorite.place to eat.Scrumptious crab cakes with a butterflied shrimp on top with a creamy tomato and garlic sauce..Homemade Salad dressings- they have pepper parm which very few places have.O.P.s Fettuccine-Baked Ham, Broccoli, and Mushrooms sautéed in Garlic Butter and tossed with Fettuccine in a Parmesan Cream SauceAdd:ChickenShrimpScallopsThis would be my chosen last meal.The service is always great and staff is friendly.You won’t be disappointed ..
Love this place! Great spot to grab a drink or a full meal after a full day on Loon Lake. Rustic Adirondack decor make it warm and inviting and a little dexk/patio out back give some good marsh views. If youre vacationing around this area, stop in and check it out!
Awesome staff, fresh good quality food in a quaint atmosphere. Conveniently located just a few straight miles to the Adirondack Northway..... its worth the drive from Glens Falls or Saratoga. It was once a stagecoach stop in the 1800s, because it lies on the intersection which leads to Schroon Lake, North Creek or Hague in the other direction, a central hub. Well worth a trip any season and experience the beauty of the drive topped off with a great dining evening.

For an out-of-the-way place, the food is always surprisingly fresh and delicious.We have been going here every vacation for 8 years. A must do in our family.
We were driving through on a roadtrip. We hadnt seen a place to stop for a while so it was a much welcomed sight. The food was pretty good but a bit over priced. The facility is old but has character.
Menu looked great.Sat there for 20 minutes and did not even get our drink order taken. Finally walked out,thirsty and hungry
If you have a gift certificate to OP Fredrick’s, you may want to call ahead to see if they will honor it. As locals and once frequent patrons we were unable to exercise our gift certificate as the owner refused to accept it.

Wide menu selection with a wide range of drinks. Portions were a bit intimidating for my girlfriend and I since were small eaters but our meal was delicious.

The soup was broken lumpy broccoli soup ugh the duck wasnt rendered and had a big fat gooey skin ugh which made the meat dry and rubbery five people ordered one like the food so order the scallops they where good

2022-01-02My family and I ate here tonight for the first time and had a great experience. The building is adorable and the ambience feels like you are in a Swiss ski chalet. You enter through the bar, which is warm and inviting and owner/manager greeted us warmly and immediately seated us. Our server was great and very nice to our 2 young sons. Everything we ordered was great and the service was outstanding. We’ve been skiing at Gore for a few years and have yet to find too many favorite restaurants. This one is definitely worth the 15 min drive from where we stay for the nice atmosphere and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back!

2022-06-06Friendly staff. Good drinks. Loved the duck entree! There is a ramp for easier entry/ exit, if needed. Would recommend half portion of the spinach salad as it was huge & add hard boiled egg slices to it. The walleye sandwich was great!

2021-07-05Superb dinner & service tonight. Lemon Creme plank Salmon was unusual & delicious, rice pilaf & baby carrots were cooked to perfection. Server was professional, helpful & attentive. We’ll surely be back. On the water setting was a special treat.

2019-07-13I have eaten here for years and is always great food. I love the cedar plank salmon dish. The cedar adds a nice touch of flavor. The sauce they put on is great too. Often come here with the larger family. Staff are very friendly and competent. Potato skins are great too! Love the Peppercorn Parmesan salad dressing too. All home made.

2021-08-06Great Bar and Grill. Best burger Ive had in a long time. We came with a large group and they accommodated us in the Looney Bin which is the awesome private party room down stairs. Staff is awesome. Owner checked in on us multiple times and was great. Highly recommend O P Fredericks!
